Techno News
Quality techno from this Dutch Techno Don! A stalwart of the Dutch techno scene since the mid nineties, Jeroen Schrijvershof has been ploughing his own furrow aside from the typical norms and standards of the techno scene with lasting integrity and unflinching dedication throughout the years. A coinage derived from the sharp, clinically designed blends he has come to be known for, that Search-sound has long established as a blueprint for DJs seeking laser-guided weaponry into their sets, and Jeroen's maiden effort for RYC follows that very guideline. Starting with the massive pound of the title-track, "Enigma", the EP knocks into your system with blunt force, ushering us into a no-frills corridor of hydraulic kicks and sizzling static. As per usual with Jeroen's compositions, minimalism serves a purpose of exponential effect. True to the fuel-efficient philosophy of the producer, "Modules" harnesses a controlled avalanche of modular signals and no-prisoner, big-room techno dynamics to forge a piece of exquisitely raw rave material that can move blocks of concrete with its nose. Letting the groove a little bit looser, "Object of Ridicule" spins at fierce tempo whilst relying on the same limited palette of chiselled drums and ominous strings to plunge the dance floor into a darker, neo-noir paradox of rhythmic straightforwardness and mystery-shrouded ambiguity. Topping the release off is "Circle Park", a cut that further exposes Jeroen's constant juggling between atmospheric opacity and a surgical, technicist approach towards production. A matter of thoroughly finessed textures and obsession for the faintest detail that shines through "Enigma" with unrelenting ebullience. More than anything the fruit of an endless search for fresh, unheard forms of transcending techno expression. In reflection to the release's outstanding character, we decided to have it pressed to 180g audiophile vinyl so y'all purists can revel in Enigma's heavily detailed sound spectrum.

Taiwanese label JIN records enters autumn 2022, with a new promising release by South Korea’s Yetsuby. As always searching for gems in the pan-Asian domain, JIN is delighted to have Yetsuby for its latest/6th release.
On this EP, one-half of the ambient duo Salamanda, Yetsuby showcases her expertise in mood setting soundscapes, taking listeners on a sound journey across a wide array of musical spectra.
Opening on A1, Yetsuby reinterprets a traditional Korean folk story of a bear devouring garlic and green onions, transforming the animal into a human being. Aptly named ” Bear Becomes The Human,” she transforms the transformed, turning the bear into a buzzing modern drum & bass-fused energetic tune. It turns out garlic is a powerful source after all.
B1’s “Jelly” showcases Yetsuby’s talent for stripped-back glitch music: With a minimal bass and drum pattern, the track gently muddles along and presents itself as well suited warm-up track for the earlier hours of any party.
For the remix sides, Cleveland delivers a vinyl only remix of “Bear Becomes The Human” with a futuristic house tune filled with jungle like drum pattern and techy yet smooth atmosphere on A2.
On B2, New Zealand’s Eden Burns takes an entirely different path on his reinterpretation of Jelly. Embarking from the original pattern, he turns the original into a slow brewing psychedelic trance cracker that seems most suited for the early morning after hours that need an energy boost.

Founded in 1996, Adam Beyer's Drumcode has become synonymous with all that is exciting about techno. Having completed a landmark year in 2011 with their 15 Year anniversary that included a 12-date club tour and a 28-track various artist compilation, Drumcode gets back to the future in 2012 with a busy schedule of releases. Followers of the label will recognize familiar names within the schedule with projects confirmed from Adam Beyer, Joseph Capriati, Ben Sims, Alan Fitzpatrick, Kaiserdisco Gary Beck, Slam and Gregor Tresher, that will appear alongside debut EP's by Jay Lumen, Sam Paganini, Nicole Moudaber, Victor Calderone, Manic Brothers, Mark Reeve and Bart Skils.
Despite an international reputation and an ever-broadening roster of artists, Adam Beyer's Drumcode has remained distinctly Swedish throughout the labels 15-year history. Beginning the creation of the Drumcode blueprint via Beyer's own material, continuing through contributions from fellow Swedish trailblazers including Jesper Dahlback, Cari Lekebusch, Joel Mull, Par Grindvik, Patrick Skoog, and Thomas Krome and emerging Swedish talent such as Patrick Siech, Nima Khak and Nihad Tule, the vast majority of Drumcode's near-on 100 releases to date have originated from Sweden. As the label nears their century landmark it is fitting that they give a full debut to Manic Brothers, the latest production talent to emerge from the ever-prolific Swedish scene.
With their 'Moving Forward' track widely regarded as one of the highlight cuts from Drumcode's recent 'A-Sides' compilation, Manic Brothers make their full debut on the label with this four-track EP of elegantly industrial techno. 'Custom Illusion' sets the tone for the EP's mechanical yet melodic aesthetic, shunting and shimmering in equal measure as it weaves a tensely poised atmosphere. 'Black Bay' works up a full force groove punctuated by a pitch-bent elastic hook and panning effects. 'Restless' continues the exploration of sparse feelings with a marching, cavernous groove and abrasive pulsing pads while 'Gone Too Soon' conjures up an enchanting wall of sound with the distinctive melodic hook adding a warm hypnotic charm to a backdrop of resounding, pounding beats.

Patås premieres his new label LEK with 4 tracks toying around in the Techno/broken beat spectrum. "Måsans dødsleie" (Måsans deathbed) starts the EP following the last journey of Måsan, a character that everybody knows; the one guy in every group of friends that just cant stop partying, the re-uper to re-up them all.
Glitchy percussion, freaky synthriffs, and a heart monitor guides him all the way to the great beyond. Ethereal "Atlantic Potion" (made in collaboration with Canadian Jamie Cox) closes the side out with its cold lushness. On the other side the theme music from Final Fantasy 6 gets reharmonized and redrummed in "Hommage a Uematsu", for some guaranteed nerd chills to all you JRPG clubbers.
Last track "TMA 4ever (Patås remix)" turns Kim Dürbecks epic ambient tune into a broken beat journey with accompanying bird sounds and hectic percussion.
A work 12 months in the making, Alex Lentini & STOMP BOXX deliver a standout EP debut.
The Italian pair – living at the extreme opposites of their country’s ‘boot’ will be new names to the Drumcode faithful. They first appeared on the label in December 2020, with a strong contribution to A-Sides Vol.10 titled ‘Expanders’.
So impressed was Adam Beyer with their productions, a fulsome debut EP was secured soon after. ‘Fine Line’ was conceived in the final stages of 2019. With the extra studio time lockdown provided, the duo enjoyed a creative freefall, allowing them to refine a five-track work that sits at the intersection of home-listening techno and dancefloor functionalism.
‘Natural Desire’ has a definable spunk to it, as pulsating chords undulate towards a breathy pad-laden finish. ‘Shifting Soul’ is exquisite, as crunchy drums and a rousing vocal ensure it’s a memorable addition to the Drumcode canon. The title track is colourful and thrilling in equal doses, as muscular synth lines coalesce alongside pin-sharp rhythms.
‘Altered Cycle’ is skilfully composed and marked by a stirring melodic lead and funky percussive underbelly. ‘Curved Blade’ is abrasive and gritty, before a dreamy spoken word interlude arouses an introspective mood. A fitting soundtrack for our times.
‘2020 was both strange and terrible, especially for music lovers. But it gave us enough time to carve out this collaboration. At this point a wonderful compromise arose between our two different sound visions. It happened without too many thoughts and in a very natural way.’ – Alex Lentini & STOMP BOXX

Ilario Alicante returns with a 3 tracker 'Rave Soul'. For the past few years Ilario Alicante has enjoyed something of an unintentional Ibiza kinship with Adam Beyer.
When the Swede played his special annual sets on the Amnesia Terrace for Cocoon, for three years out of four, the Italian has been right there playing alongside him, ensuring his talents were on the radar of the Drumcode chief.
Ilario made his first appearance on the label in 2016 with the stirring 'Temporary' featuring on A-Sides Vol.4, following with the 'Awakened' EP and 'Figures & Echoes'. Now 'Rave Soul' deepens his contribution to the label with pulsating beats and effective melodic interlude to fantastic effect.

For our first ever LP we proudly present INTRO’s “Odyssey Of Shifting Emotions”. A collection of tracks recorded in the 90’s by the Madrid based legends Francisco & Nacho Sotomayor. Before moving into various musical realms, the pair had been quietly honing their craft for years. Meticulously programming near perfect drum loops and placing them onto subtle layers of otherworldly synthesis. The music inspires intro-mental journeys yet remains tinged with energy and emotion. These are the sorts of contrast that can be expected on this LP. While clearly sharing certain themes, each track brings its own ideology to the table, allowing this record to humbly fit in your bag on an array of occasions.

Cocoon latest artist signing Coyu is back on the track with his second Cocoon Recordings release. And he strikes back louder and heavier than ever before! For quite some time Coyu focused mainly on the deeper sides of house and techno, especially with his own label 'Suara". However his new Cocoon Release 'I Want Your Jack' is a stunning example for kicking and xxl-strong techno at its best and proofs these sounds are not only made in Sweden these days. 'I Want Your Jack' is pure energy and a dignified successor to Len Faki's remix of 'Stranger To Stability' by Dustin Zahn. A must play for the end of this years techno season. Track number two 'D-Change' is a co-production with Chicago house legend K-Alexi. This man breathes the word 'jack' and he strongly influenced the techno-movements in cities like Berlin or Frankfurt. His productions added the right sound to clubs like the 'Tresor' or the 'Omen' in the early 90s and his colab with Coyu strongly refers to these times. 'D-Change' beams the high days of Underground Resistance and Industrial Strength into the year 2013. The message is clear and pure madness is called out on techno-floors with this one. We especially like the legendary 'Are You Ready' vocal here, a famous whoop by Cocoon master Sven Väth back in the days. 'Octagon' is the third track in this package however this is all but no bonus track. This is another proper techno-monster and Coyu added some cool house-elements here. Tribal beats and vague vocal samples shimmering in the backround make us want to dance around a tribal bonfire at night. 'Octagon' is a universal weapon for techno- and house-fans that will shake up dancefloors. This one is for the dancers and not for the rubbernecks!

His Master's Voice makes his second appearance on Delsin. Late 2019 the low-profile German producer released his first EP on the label backed with a remix by Vril -- who's taken care of the mastering on this EP again. 'Carry On In My Name' contains yet again four original works of engaging electronics. It's a fresh combination of dusty break-beats and stuttering rhythms boosted by rough, yet emotive melodies. A very well balanced pack melting together all sides of electro, drum & bass and glitchy atmospheres.

We are glad to welcome in our vinyl catalogue this solid piece of electronic music. The Maple Mania EP will land in the best records store around the globe, bringing some heat to every dj who wants to burn the dance floors.
Maple Juice has delivered the best versions of the styles he’s used to play in dj sets and live sets: Techno & Acid, Electro & Footwork, Proto-House & Slow Disco are what you will find in this banging four tracker 12”.
• Acerate: A pure electronic structure takes a techno way to fire up the dancefloor. Hard kicks and prominent snares push the rhythm while a destroying bass line sustains the acid synths riot. Play loud
• Evriba: Straight from his crazy dj sets, a footwork affair. 145 bpm, broken solid steps and ghetto percussive sounds, cavernous basses, neurotic cut-and.paste pf vocal samples. Futuristic.
• Maple Mania: Early Chicago House, 90’s flavors. Inside the 4/4 realm with fat kicks, classic cheesy piano strings, relentless hi-hats, a disco heritage warped synth lines and funk samples. A tribute.
• Antinolo Melody: An instrumental mid-tempo metropolitan catwalk. Hip Hop drums samples dialogue with a steady beat over a groovy bass and ethereal synths melodies. Get lost in a movie.
Maple Mania EP is landing on the 19th of november! Proudly produced on Taste Rec.

Three more iconic Parallel 9 dub-techno classics from the Steve Rachmad archives re-issued on the Delsin Sterac series. Originally released in 1996 on Prime, now re-mastered. Track order is shuffled a bit, as it turned out the full 10 minutes version of Quanah was shortened in 1996. It was through the preparation of this re-issue Steve found out now 25 years later they had shortened the track by four minutes back then for some reason. Steve Rachmad's richly melodic strain of techno has resulted in a huge body of work he has been growing since the early 90s. His sound is the perfect distillation of machine soul - dubby atmospherics and crisp, danceable dynamics balanced in perfect unison. Amsterdam's Delsin Records gathers together some of the Dutch techno figurehead's most important, sought-after works in a new EP series, all remastered from the original DAT tapes from Steve's archives. Adding to the weight of this series, the accompanying artwork is being created by Boris Tellegen, aka legendary graffiti artist Delta who first began designing sleeves with Secret Life Of Machines. Since then he created many works for labels including Delsin.

Bunny 'Striker' Lee's standing in the Jamaican recording business has remained unassailable for over four decades.Known by many aliases including 'Gorgon'.
The legend of the Gorgon originated in Greek mythology some three thousand years ago and has become a common image in art, literature and in Jamaica...Music.
The name actually derives from the ancient Greek word gorgos which means 'dreadful' ,appropriate when one considers that the avalanche of Gorgon inspired records came as a direct result of the influence of the Rastafarian movement on the Jamaican musical mainstream and the dread locked hair of the Rasta brethren was likened to that of the Gorgon sisters.
''About her shoulders she flung the tasselled aegis, fraught with terror...and therein is the head of the dread monster, the gorgon, dread,awful....'' Homer

The first instalment Cyberport by Man-L is a three tracker EP including a remix by Canadian dub-techno legend Matt Thibideau under his moniker Altitude. Vexed Sphere is proud to present its first vinyl release, 'VS4 - Various Artists', featuring four techno producers based in North America. FadeFace (NYC) opens the B side with 'Dispatch', an infectious, intercosmic groove, and Sone (Seattle) closes the record with 'Serriform', a thick, tension-building, subterranean roller.

Uun returns for his fifth entry in the Ego Death series. This EP was created in solidarity with the global leftist movement that has risen to fight fascism around the world. The Melting Point series strikes again on Dame-Music as Bloody Mary invites Skudge for a label debut under his Splice alias, whilst also welcoming back imprint favourite Thomas P. Heckmann.
Launched in late 2017, The Melting Point concept sees label founder Bloody Mary invite a selection of her favourite and most respected producers to offer up an exclusive cut that represents their own take on the acid sound. Following Volumes 1 and 2, which featured cuts from heavy hitters such as KiNK, Josh Wink, Hardfloor, Alien Rain and more, Dame-Music now presents Volume 3 of the V/A acid series as she welcomes two new guests to share the record with her this October to mark the imprints’ 40th release – three tracks made for and by acid lovers.
Up first, Bloody Mary contributes ‘Acetic’, a warping acid heavy production fusing hefty kicks and crunchy hats that has been doing damage across dancefloors worldwide for a number of months, before unveiling Skudge aka Splice’s label debut ‘Tactile’, an up-front peak-time offering that channels frenzied percussion and soaring leads throughout. Rounding out the package, Thomas P. Heckmann returns to Dame-Music for the second time after featuring on The Melting Point Vol. 1, with ‘The Space Between’ revealing a hypnotic, chuggy mind-melter that looks set to become a must have production for the dancefloor.

Never Sleep present Paula Temple 'Live from the Mill".
Recorded live in the UK's oldest rave capital Preston in the beautiful summer of 1995.
One of Paula Temple's earliest gigs, this mix was recorded at a rave in Preston 27 years ago when she was 18 years old.
Vinyl only at the time, this mixtape embodies the style she is consistently known for, a mix of raw relentless techno and rave.
In 1995 making mixtapes was the only way to go, so Paula would make mixtapes to give to her friends at clubs around the North of England such as Bugged Out (Manchester), The Orbit (Morley) and Voodoo (Liverpool).
Paula submitted this mixtape to MUZIK magazine to spend a day with techno artist Dave Angel.
Triumphantly she spent the day with Dave in his studio, was featured in the magazine and was just a young girl chasing her dream.
When we asked for this possible collaboration she dug deep and found a forgotten tape from long ago that had been lost but recently found, Archivio has brought it back to life for you to hear the younger Paula Temple's passion for the underground.
All proceeds go the amazing Womenonweb charity which supports women rights across the globe and provides abortion care for the most in need.
We are truly honored to put out a small testament in time and help those in the future.
With 'D & N's' Rolando releases his second 12' for Ostgut Ton following his impressive label
debut, the '5 to 8 EP' which featured two tracks that also appeared on the Berghain 04 Mix
CD. Now he serves up 3 new tracks that solidify his reputation as someone who is still
pushing forward not content to rest on his laurels.
The title track 'D & N's' prooves that the loop-master is still true to his Detroit heritage even
though he resides in Scotland now. Pacing kicks and timid hi-hats take care of the hypnotic
build-up you might expect from Rolando. Then deep sub bass and planar synths step in and
create a firework that relentlessly winds itself deep into the subconscious, regardless of
whether the listener is already dancing or just about to.
- We Will' embodies a mantra-like magic, but bleeping extensions and 4/4 severity create a
sweeping unrest. Nervous, penetrating and restless, it's a stirring techno gem.
- Filthy' demands attention from the go. While a titanic beat unleashes a severe rhythm,
tambourine delays and helicopter synths awaken the semiconsciousness - alarming chirrups
inclusive. An elaborate devil of a club track that puts a deep final marker onto this well
rounded EP.

Edition of 100 - printed sleeve, hand-stamped centre labels
Depth.Request sees a new hat being thrown into the techno ring. The hat in question is the label's first EP Anvil—a post-tech five-tracker, and the person throwing it is Blasted—an Italian producer with a number of solid EPs to his name. Having had previously shared release credits with him on a number of occasions, Berlin's renowned noisemaker Unhuman fits into the picture as well, being the one charged with remixing duties regarding the titular track.
Setting common tact aside for a moment, the opener showcases Blasted indulging in esoteric inclinations by the means of concentrating on slick, abrasive sound design, cutting the number of kicks in half and utilizing a vocal sample to add a pinch of EBM into the mix. Unhuman's slowed-down rework in turn evokes gears' incessant grind at the backdrop of steam pressurizers going up and down in alteration, producing arrays of heavily plodding, whamming kicks. Breaking free of esoterism and leftfield production, the EP continues with Jawbreaker—a peak-time affair wherein the lows are ravaged by constant sub-bass pressure and ruthlessly striking, syncopated kicks, laid under the neatly-synthesized, impenetrable hats, pertaining to Blasted's signature sound. On Filthy Goat, the assault continues with a renewed strength as anxious synths and panning hats gradually invade the scene shortly before the devastating kicks storm down in a hail of obliterating projectiles, creating a battlefield-evocative environment within this decimating, explosive stomper. Lastly, demonic closer Belial bids its fair digital-only-money's worth of adieu with magnificent ambiance interwoven within the spectrum alongside meticulously arranged drumwork presented through plethora of varied, carefully picked samples.
After his contribution to the "Lifesaver Compilation 4 - 21 (Dedicated To Andrew Weatherall)" last year with the pumping "Let's Hide Away", Damiano von Erckert presents his first proper full four tracker on LARJ. Expect dreamy moments with a lot of punch and great vocal snippets as Damiano dominates the bass drum in his masterful way.
A1 "MOONS" sucks you in with light and groovy bongo patterns which build the foundation for an uplifting track that's a bit dark around the sunnier side of things, yet still keeps the positive message: You and I can make it!
A2 "A MONSTER TO LOVE" sounds a bit like a modern take on the "Captain Future Theme", yet much deeper and darker. Atmospheric but built on one hell of a monster groove.
B1 "THESE ARE THE MOMENTS (FOR ZIMNI)" has epic qualities and is full of the uplifting moments we all need - not only Zimni … It does have a certain British sound to it and will definitely rule on a lot of dancefloors with its majestic bass line and whipping hi-hat.
B2 "WISHES" is reminiscent of yet more British sounds from the early 90ies (think Warp and early Nightmares On Wax). The beautiful vocal sample helps build up the tension here before a driving 303 bass line kicks in and takes no prisoners. You better wish for moments like these indeed … and relish them.
Repress gold + white marbled vinyl
A foray into deep, organic, cinematic dance music. Subterranean bass, intercepted alien transmissions, and stripped down dance-beats meld with sheets of sounds that roll over the listener like waves lapping up on the shore. Shimmering, watery, brain hemisphere synchronization tones caress and melt stress away. Dance floor friendly tracks that work equally well in one s private listening space. Immersive music with a distinctive aquatic quality. Inspired by Detroit & Berlin s dance genres, but tempered by more ambience / atmosphere than one would expect from those genres. Music without harshness or rough edges. Fuzzy, out-of-focus, soft-sounds that slip in and out of the listener's consciousness. Uniquely melds current dance rhythms with lushness and spirituality. Synesthetic sounds that trigger sensory experiences in cognitive pathways other than hearing smells of perfumes, thoughts of colours, and altered perception of time and space. Psychoacoustic, cerebral, electronic listening music for those wanting a different experience than the current harsher, darker dance trends are offering. Responsibly made gentle music designed from the ground-up to have a positive effect on the nervous system and leave the listener invigorated and recharged. Chi-building sonic balm. Timeless, exotic dance tracks for a new school of electronic music enthusiasts who are searching for beautiful sounds, crafted with a higher purpose in mind.

While we continue to dig into our archives, techno stalwart Insider came up with 3 massive tunes from the 90’s. Boots On The Run was once remixed by Thomas P. Heckman and made the dancefloors go nuts with it’s driving tribal beats, backed with Trial Bells with a similar sound and feel. In addition as a third bonus track we’ve added What You’re About To Hear, which is a rework of one of his old Music Man classics. A must have for every Bonzai record collector coming on a 10" black wax package.

Invisible Menders are back. After a long hibernation, the duo of Jane Fitz and Dom finally release their long-awaited return to Animals On Psychedelics, the Dream Forest EP. Opening track Dārukā is deep trip to the heart of the forest floor. It comes backed with a pure trance remix from good friend SYO (aka S.O.N.S). Belgium's 'Raving George' dispenses of her alias on her debut ep for Turbo Recordings as Charlotte de Witte.
The 23 year-old Studio Brussel resident DJ has quickly made a name for herself following EPs on Bad Life and a massively successful collaboration with Oscar & The Wolf (which actually sold 15k copies in Belgium alone). Shedding her alias here, Charlotte shows she's ready for prime-time with this expertly crafted EP of big-room techno.
Lead track 'Weltschmerz' sounds like an instant Berghain classic; dark, massive, trippy, and with an emotional character all too rare within the genre. The kicks are banging, the verbed out percussion is fierce, and it all moves around a haunting melodic breakdown that artfully dances on the right side of 'progressive.' It's a killer track that perfectly sets the tone for the whole record.
'Damage Control' is a straightforward flex-a-thon, a housier rhythm that struts along confidently. The technical term is 'floor-filler.' 'Lonesome' brings the emotion back, with it's super-tense, unresolved melodies, this is perfect for all your mega-club yearning & gurning needs. 'Relatives of None' is the nastiest of the bunch, and probably the most at home on Turbo, built around a screechy synth hook. Finally, 'Weltschmerz (Melodic Theme)' provides an epic ambient outro, crystallizing the emotional tones of the EP and establishing a sense of artistic vision that ascends well beyond the pedestrian.

REPRESSED !!!!!
Gui's fresh hip-swinging Techno goes directly into the interface of experimental Minimal & catchy Tech House.
this is the long-awaited, highly-anticipated debut full-length release from architect, producer, musician and composer, gui boratto, born in sao paulo, brazil. those who have followed his steady stream of 12" singles are already well acquainted with his remarkable ear for coming up with emotive, savvy dance music. whether it be his minimal-techno burners for kompakt's k2 imprint, energetic house for steve bug's audiomatique recordings and plastic city, and of course, there was "like you," the sensational pop-techno anthem that broke him wide open on the international circuit early last year. though he recently began producing under his real name (debuting with a remix for the film city of god), what many don't know about gui boratto is that for over 10 years he has been one of brazil's most in-demand producers having worked with such consecrated artists/bands as pato banton, steel pulse, desiree, manu chao and many, many others. with chromophobia, boratto surpasses all experience and expectation with infinite catchy hooks, lazy synths, romantic vocals, and so many shimmering techno-colors, it'll make your eyes squint in the sunshine. many scribes spoke that last year was the year techno learned how to make a proper artist album. well, boratto very well could be the first to perfect the art with this momentous release. it's easy to coin gui boratto as "varied" and "eclectic," however, gui brings a vast spectrum of influences together with an uncanny sensibility to make arguably the seminal kompakt record filled with all the grace and roar in the world to shake the bottoms of the biggest dance haters out there, and get our fans so excited they'll feel like they're on their fifth caipirinha raving on top of the sugarloaf

Re-issue of this sought after Kumulus rarity originally released as a one-off on Electric Soul in 1992. Belgium pioneer Jan Van den Berghe is responsible for some all-time classics such as Wet's That's The Game, Liaison D's He chilled Out and Mappa Mundi's Sexafari, to name just a few. Under the Kumulus guide, he produced an unforgettable and mesmerizing take on Detroit-ish techno. Inspired by all the great tracks that he licensed for the excellent Buzz label releases and compilations during the early 90's. Timeless!

+++ Breaking News +++
Snork Enterprises goes back to the future. For this one-of-a-kind
release we decided to skip a few catalogue numbers and go straight to #1000'. Because nothing less than those four big blocky letters could describe the boldness of this record
containing the most groundbreaking tracks of the 1990s underground techno scene by one of the most snorky and most famous artists:
MR. NEIL LANDSTRUMM.
Quoting him: It's an ep of some of the most influential tracks of the alternative UK techno sound from the 1990s. The UK school of techno was wildly different to the more accepted Detroit techno imports of the time, gnashing its teeth to an altogether more alternative and cracked out beat. The whole point of it was to sound as different and unique as possible. Standing out was the 'thing' then, not the business techno of today.'In the spirit of a time, which was bursting with energy, Snork Enterprises was founded. And
exactly those tracks have had a major impact on the further development of the unique snorky label sound. The following statement by the label owner CHRISTIAN SCHACHTA makes it
crystal clear:
For me this release is highly emotional because it reflects the very roots of Snork Enterprises. Neil was one of the artists who have influenced the sound of the label the most, and especially those four tracks have always belonged to my top favorite ones. As soon as I sensed there was a chance of putting them altogether on one record as a re-release, I could not withhold myself but give it a try and finally and fortunately publish one of the most important Snork Enterprises releases of all times - for the label and for me personally.

This release is a promise from Micron Audio to provide only carefully crafted and curated electronic music from progressive minded artists. Nothing friendly... Period. Galaxian: An intelligent, intricate composition of titanium android parts and artificial intelligence. LOKA: Sidewalk cracking, body moving waveforms, that strongly reflect the title of the track. Ctrls: Like listening to an audio book on neuroscience except you can dance to it and raise your IQ at the same time. 6SISS: This sonic blast gives you fair warning that you're going to travel about 20 years into the future. Leeds based party On Rotation launches it’s record label with a LP from resident Adam Pits. His debut album ‘A Recurring Nature’, draws inspiration from time spent in nature with friends during a year when clubbing was an impossibility. Over the course of 8 varied tracks, Adam moves between club slammers and spaced-out introspective downtempo with ease, showing off the production skills that have made him one of the most talked about names of late.
Combining the unique style of his previous club EPs with organic sound design and his own classical cello background, the psychedelic sonic palette is reminiscent of long summer days foraging for mushrooms and other treats from the undergrowth.

Hi, this is Remco, who made the music for this record. These tracks are my take on techno and electro cuts with an experimental twist. But I’d rather share a bit on the underlying theme of what this record means to me.
Digital Plant System, Solvation, Labyrinth and Altar all touch upon the subject of not always being able to change difficult situations that you encounter. It has occurred to me that the more you seek, the more you will keep looking. Digital Plant System for me symbolizes how it can feel very hard if not impossible to understand the world and how it works, while Solvation and Labyrinth as you might guess by their titles, feel like dwelling on certain problems and getting stuck in thought loops about them. The final track Altar is all about surrendering to the fact that a solution might not come by working ever so hard on analyzing it, but simply yielding to something bigger, and stop resisting.
This record feels very personal to me even though it’s one of the clubbier projects I’ve put out, which is why I like to share some of the symbolism these tracks hold for me. I really hope you enjoy them.
Sincerely,
Remco

CALLING ALL FRENETIC LOONS - cursed to strut on thy toes, or to point them to the sky. Has a lack of dance based activity made you weary? The deprivation of bass inflected oxygen surging thru your body resulted in a euphoric fatigue? Well rise and shine all you
Spiritually Deluded kinder, the hit parade is back, with Roza T & D. Tiff tip-toeing in with 8 tracks high in kinetic synergy and low in “bOriNGG!!”. The sound of 2 artists; serious in their intent yet blowing raspberries at the cork sniffers/snobs, obstinate to the world of industrial decay press shots + plastic ravers.
Instead they straddle the Edge of Innocence. Residue of lines once written, now your own personal tightrope. You wobble to and fro as part of a troupe of ethereal jesters, composed of Lil’ Drummer Boi’s pitter pattering on Gravity Bongo’s. Both tracks repping and following the rhythm of the ozone bounce house. With enough elasticity you’ll ^^break thru^^, experiencing Possession by momentary ascension. The weightless sensation of falling in a circle; catch yourself if you please. Such transcendence is lucrative, the Paparazzi on hand to flash and burn the retina, providing instant short-circuit delusions of grandeur. Sonically every hard knock is met with a “bOinKK!!”, illuminating the dark yet cartoonish nature of the practice - guaranteed to make u skip, achieve the perfect sly pout. You and your gang can terraform into bodacious bass-bins, and cast your personal Redemption Arc onto the ether.
Inhibitions are to be absolved, and fat kickdrums to be followed. In this hyper-informed yet unknowing present tense, who can ignore the beat based intrinsic incentive to fuck up the circadian rhythm - the music becoming a byte-based silkworm, spinning its digital silk from synapse to synapse, until your brain is a translucent cocoon playfully ricocheting, the cranium its pleasure dome. Call the drum dealer.

After exploring some of the UK’s house music heritage, Late Night Burners’ reissue offshoot Still Burning struck gold closer to home; the Dutch have always been adept at crafting club sounds and Marcel Franke’s contributions are no exceptions.
Between 1992 and 1998 he was moving freely between house, progressive, trance, and techno under various guises leaving behind a trove of serious dancefloor 12-inches. One of these was “Tinnitus” released in 1995 under his single-use alias Timelock, containing four menacing party cuts straddling ravey house and deep techno. The Late Night Burners guys took two of them, had them faithfully remastered for the modern dancefloor from the original DATs, and added two remixes; one by the label bosses themselves and one by Youandewan, who has had the original record in his bag for so long it only seemed fitting to ask him.

Revered bossman Nonentity takes the Source Material back to its roots with this firing new EP on hand-stamped and numbered 10". 'Denzel' is the visceral opener and one that sounds as if its synths have been fired by the hadron collider they are so fierce and fast. The drums too are hefty and the squelchy bass rounds out this instant electro classic. 'Equilibrium' on the flip takes a deeper tact, with moody chords hinting at unease as the slapping drum funk powers onwards. It's a two-tracker that is well worth adding to your aural assault arsenal.
Head Cleaner brings a brilliant Hardtek oldschool sound... Souvenirs from another dimension ! BIG UP !

Born Hovhannes Sargsyan, D.zúk (”dzook” = fish) is a Yerevan-based producer influenced by the delicate qualities of nature, juxtaposed against the concrete imprint of human existence. His debut, Ishkhan (“eesh-khan” = prince; also refers to an endemic trout found in Lake Sevan) is a pensive journey through ethereal, underwater landscapes. He calls his music “fishwave”; a swinging mélange of dub, house, bass and ambient sounds. “Ishkhan to me is at its strongest when it gets deepest into its reveries and abstractions... Wobbly electronic weirdness collides with duduks and whatnot - and maybe reach maximum fish-ness with ”Poghpatits Sarer”. Reserved grooves strolling astride plenty of great musicianship. As a debut, it shows great promise of things to come, too, and I hope creator D.zúk continues to plumb to watery depths soon.” - Peter Kirn for CDM.link

A collection to celebrate the label’s 20 years in the business of releasing timeless techno and house tracks from the crème de la Crème of the artist roster.
“We like our bike, it is made for 3. Our Mike sits on the back you see. We like our Mike and this is why, Mike does all the work when the hills get high.”
Timeless words from the great Dr. Seuss, and in considering the 20 year history of Mike Shannon's Cynosure label, there could be no truer sentiment. From it's humble beginnings in a sleepy Canadian town formerly known as New Berlin (Kitchener, Ontario) to it's current home in Berlin proper, the label has grown to become a nurturing launch pad for artists from around the globe, and one of the most dependable and consistent providers for those in search of deep minimal funk of the house and techno persuasion. Much like Shannon himself, each and every release in the label's now vast catalog reveals itself with unhurried, confident class, and always with a wink and a wry smile.
In celebration of the label's 20th anniversary, Shannon has amassed another peerless collection of tracks from his nearest and dearest which, much like every banger in the back catalog, are certain to become permanent fixtures in record bags of DJs with an ear for taking dance floors straight down the rabbit hole for many years to come.
Featuring contributions from fellow Canadians Mathew Jonson, The Mole, and Deadbeat, Shannon's frequent collaborator Dewalta, and American legends Ryan Crosson and Brett Johnson to name but a few, Cynosure 20 is a testament to Shannon's stalwart commitment to the music he loves, and the incredibly talented group of merry pranksters he's brought along with him for what, it's safe to say has been one hell of a journey... may it continue for many years to come.

Part of the new brigade of artists making their mark on the label, Veerus lands his fifth release in two years on Drumcode.
With a pair of EPs and numerous contributions to the coveted A-Sides compilation under his belt since his debut in 2018, Veerus has established himself as a talented go-to producer for Adam Beyer; from his stirring cut ‘Hypnosis’ that highlighted the Drumcode founder’s Cercle performance, to the killer ‘System’ that provided an early 2020 moment for the label.
His consistent vein of form will result in a coveted spot at Drumcode Festival Malta 2021 in September.
‘Recovery’ continues the Italian’s talent for crafting powerful melody-led techno projections.
The title track is an ace. What begins as a smoky atmospheric cut is quicky elevated to beast status as intergalactic robot stabs shatter the mist, while an acid-underbelly adds to the mood. ‘Dysfunction’ brims with a distinct 90s synth aesthetic, propelled by a crisp and classy bottom end.
MixCult presents LO-FI sublabel CRYSTAL MUD focused on limited edition lathe cut 7" & 10" discs.
Dub Techno Music in Dubplate Culture. Highly Exclusive.
Bolam is back on Space Dust with the 'Lost In Time' EP, a continuation of the journey started with the widely acclaimed 'Suspended Animation'. Another well-rounded and diverse record dives into the wormhole with ’Moving Lights’, a high-energy affair propelled by filtering resonators and a haunting vocal. ’Ozone’ breaks through the stratosphere of a new world, a huge track with electro-inspired groove, booming kicks and a razor-sharp lead melody, creating a feeling of uncertainty and delirium with swelling pads and arpeggiators.
The B-side begins with the mysterious and epic, genre-defying anthem ’Air Tension’, enticing the listener into the strange new world with a chugging rhythm, tantalising textures and an indescribable melody that keeps you on the line between paranoia and euphoria. ’Bioluminescence’ descends into an alien jungle, with a hypnotic, dreamy, downtempo beat and iridescent synths and chords. Finally, as you lay down in the otherworldly glade, the record wraps up with the ethereal, ambient finisher, ‘2 Parsecs From Home’.
Kerrie makes her debut for DBA with four tracks devised originally for her high impact live sets. Other than a cut on highly regarded London label I Love Acid's 10th anniversary comp Kerrie is a relative newcomer but the ten years she has put in honing her style immediately shine through in her music. The EP ranges from Before Calm's bug-eyed, angular swagger replete with a hair raising distorted hook, to Orb Weaver's peak time techno roll via Acid8 Slider which is one of the most original 303 tracks to come out of the UK in some time and Curveball, a bolshy electro leaning stepper.
Her influences range from current UK artists like Blawan to Japanese artists such as NHK yx Koyxen & Hiroaki Iizuka and pioneers like X101, Joey Beltram and Surgeon. The running thread in her taste is a penchant for high energy, raw banging grooves with a machine funk flavour, and a love of analog sound both as a producer and DJ. No doubt this stems from her time spent working at legendary Manchester shop Eastern Bloc Records where she joined in 2013 and has worked ever since. Honing her skills through her DJ residency for EBloc Kerrie has gone on to become a regularly booked act for the UKs most prestigious underground club nights. As a live performer she has also toured the UK since 2017 with the live show being met with high acclaim. Her live set for Freerotation 2019 has been one of the festival's most talked about debuts.

Ecstatic Northern techno from Evigt Morker! Restless with giddy excitement and fidgeting through candescent swells, Evigt Morker's latest EP deploys a familiar, playful edge to degrees that were only hinted at in previous excursions. Ecstatic polyrhythms compound the wealth of fizzy details into prudent club missions with a bright yet rugged edge. Quality stuff!

Sigourney Discs presents its third release following BACK by Dark Vektor and CZ200 by PLOM. Rinse Repeat is the new EP from Barcelona-based French producer La Fraicheur and Berlin-based French producer Leonard de Leonard.
The Rinse Repeat EP shows the duo’s wide spectrum of love affairs with techno’s rich universe of sounds and moods. The title track Rinse Repeat is built around a raspy and ever-evolving playful acid bassline with added drama from sound design and distorted glitchy gimmicks. Mind The Step is taking the sound design-induced drama a step further with a slow burning spacious and epic cavernous fantasmagoria that flips itself on the head half way through, becoming a vengeful track driven by a menacing yet groovy gritty bassline.
Rounding up the EP is the apt-titled Fairies Bootcamp. Ethereal and eerie skidding melodies balance out a grounded martial rhythm as if you had, on a forest walk, stumbled upon an army of fairies in a training camp caught mid-flight arming themselves to take their land back. The soundtrack of a supernatural call for arms.
On remix duty, Sigourney Discs co-founder Yandira leaves the war behind to focus on the otherworldly elements of Fairies Bootcamp and offers a trippy floaty dreamstate rendition for open airs and early morning rising suns.
Midi fanfare orchestrator Novo Line is back on Protofuture with a blazing 12”. His album “Racconti” (a concept-album on cassette) gets reinterpreted by the artist’s confrères Eva Geist, Dama, Wilted Woman, Tyler Pope and Elena Colombi, one year after its original release.
Cosmic/electro/dub meets synthetic, pulsing patterns inspired by Novo Line’s disorienting yet danceable polyrhythms in this varicolored E.P, which journeys across late night and early morning sounds.
Kindly mastered by Analogcut in Berlin, the music sees the contribution of Protofuture’s inmates Dj Fett Burger, Trent and Telephones on mixing and live percussion duties.

While our lives are being set upside down due to a crazy amount of events, from climate change to eco-political re-assessment with crisis and pandemic emergencies a new spiritual era is approaching us. Rituals as well as magical practices are what we really need to learn how to go through this and be born again. We need to look inward and seek the truth that we can neither find in the outside world nor inside the digital one.

'As I'm always evolving, every now and again I need to make a point about my latest sound. Curveballs has been especially written to showcase the full range of my current sound and features a carefully selected collection of tracks designed for a club environment. "Riva Starr
Dance music's prolific Italian-born London-based sharpshooter Riva Starr set to release fourth artist album Curveballs via Adam Beyer's revered Truesoul Records.
Riva Starr has been shaking up the world of dance music with his eclectic and unpredictable palette of sounds and styles for over a decade. Over the years, he has racked up numerous accolades and achievements including releasing 3 acclaimed albums (If Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade in 2010, Hand In Hand in 2013 and Definition of Sound in 2016), having a myriad of single/EP releases on some of dance music's most established labels (Snatch! Records, Hot Creations, Relief, Crosstown Rebels, Dirtybird) and amassing an impressive remix resume of artists including; Audion, Groove Armada, Dennis Ferrer, Usher, Estelle, London Grammar, Fatboy Slim, Reboot and David Morales.
With all of this success and experience under his belt, the time has come for the talented Italian to deliver his much awaited fourth long-player, Curveballs - comprising of 12 stellar tracks inspired by current club sounds and old school music elements, driven by Starr's endeavor to produce music that stands the test of time.
The LP's striking opener, 'Always' gets things underway and sets the tone with its powerful house groove, warm chord stabs and divine soulful vocal courtesy of legendary house diva Jocelyn Brown. Elsewhere, there's the funk-driven disco-tinged 'Piknik', the uplifting 'Needin' U' esque 'Disco Loco', the dark and commanding 'The Hole (Release Your Soul) and the pounding peak-time synth-laden roller 'Give Me Love'.
Other highlights include, the infectious breakbeat workout 'Britcoin', the techy electro-tinged 'Fresh' and the experimental synth-driven Techno gem 'AnalHog'. The album concludes with 3 fine cuts in the form of the bass heavy TR-909 laden 'Ride', the funk-fueled house groover 'Mantra (Early In The Morning)' and an exclusive deep-house-esque Dub version of 'Give Me Love' to round off yet another essential long-player from one of dance music's much-loved artists.

A staple of South America’s ever-effervescing techno community, Colombian-born producer Adriana Lopez sure ain’t no stranger to the aficionados of wild four-to-the-floor epics, having delivered the totality of her typical, custom cut bunker-busters on Developer’s Modularz and her own imprint, Grey Report, in about a decade of intense dancefloor activism.
For her first sortie away from her usual recording homes, Adriana steps up in no real unknown territory either, with Stroboscopic Artefacts’ Totem series providing a much suitable shelter for her deep-penetration, quaky club weaponry to grow and expand.
Kicking things off in frontally brutal fashion, the title-track ‘Embera’ sets the mood right away, swallowing us amidst the countless spans and layers of hypno-tech quicksands. With the kinetic energy gauge now set to eleven and kicks thumping their way across a forest of obsessive synth spirals, Adriana then whips up a frenzy of delayed percussions, spaced-out riffs and jammed radar echoes on ‘Saija’, sure to keep the dancers in a state of wilful enslavement.
Opting for a more straightforward, steady-flying angle of attack, the EP’s closer ‘Awa’ tops it all off on an equally abrasive and elegant note, true to Adriana’s trademark mix of groove-making finesse and uplifting potency.

On textstar+ Jan Jelinek brings together the material from the CMYK series, four EPs he released between 1999 and 2002 under the pseudonym farben (the German word for both colours and paints), on a vinyl double LP for the first time. The selection of tracks has been remastered from the original tapes, joined by two additional pieces that appeared on compilations during the same period.
A Polaroid. Still life with tangled leads and consumer electronics, late twentieth century. Black and various shades of dirty white are the dominant non-colours. The image’s spatial depth remains diffuse, the links between its elements speculative. A note stuck to the wall (a legend, perhaps, or an all-explaining blueprint in text form?) is impossible to decipher. You can’t see what connects the picture’s signs. You have to hear it.
farben says: Every sound is a text. A bearer of meaning in search of a reader. Hoping the ideas inscribed in its autonomous existence will be understood as intended. While its beauty lies precisely in misunderstanding, in reading the coded message a new way every time. A thousand colours of sound, a thousand different ways to hear, to see, to understand.
Another new element is the Polaroid, showing the origins of a world: Jelinek’s home studio in Berlin at the time.
farben says: Move your body! The project has its roots in Jelinek’s love of house as a reductionist vision of soul. Of four to the floor as a proposition that can be accessed anywhere. Of electronic dance music as a realm of possibility that can be continually expanded. farben was written as contemporary house music. As a text about excitement and euphoria. The arrangements were made directly while recording to DAT, on a twelve-channel mixing desk. Several track titles suggest a link to live concerts, coupled with the context of machine music and bedroom recording. Others affirm pop music’s most extravagant stock phrases about various states of love.
Jelinek produced the tracks with the aim of making music for dancefloors. An idea that failed very productively. In the locations to which it was originally addressed, the project barely figured. But people did listen, and they listened all the more closely to this music that opened up new acoustic and associative scope for house. farben is the opposite of genre: a music spawning new terms (clicks & cuts, micro-house) that never manage to fully capture it.
farben says: Signifiers. The four CMYK EPs are designed as a network of references that cannot be missed but that can also never be precisely deciphered. The vectors of sound, word and image point to Isaac Hayes and Ornette Coleman, to Detroit and the first generation of the Red Army Faction, to Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. So multifarious that they are distorted to the point of recognition. Overall we hear sonic docufictions whose appealing vagueness derives precisely from this oscillation between clarity and ambiguity, which is also the source of their poetry: the lyricism of the pure circulation of signs.
The artwork is based on photographs of former Red Army Faction members, broken down into the four colours of the CMYK model. The motifs dissolve into individual dots of a single colour, so close to the faces that their expressions are only hinted at. Taken together, the individual colours compose a new whole out of fragmentary material, defying definition and thus maintaining their vibrancy. The same occurs on the level of sound. The sampler Jelinek used for these tracks had to be fed with floppy disks, imposing a memory limit of 1.44 megabytes per audio quotation from soul or jazz records. As a necessary consequence of this, the individual references, like the dots of colour, are dissolved into details and abstractions. They appear as splinters that recombine in new ways to create new meanings. The joy of collapsing metaphors.
farben says: New departures. Even two decades after its original release, textstar+ does not come across as an epitaph to the modern era. Instead, it appears as a euphoric affirmation of the utopias of the twentieth century, translated into new sound texts via the aesthetic strategies of abstraction, collage, networking and speculation. 1.44 megabytes of history, one thousand signifiers, one album. From “Live ...” to “... Love”.

HI-LO, the techno alter-ego of Oliver Heldens debuts on Drumcode with a full-force two-tracker ‘Hypnos’. Unbeknown to many, the Dutch future house star has been cultivating a love of techno separate from his mainstage persona. As HI-LO, he’s remixed Nina Kraviz’s ‘Skyscrapers’ and released on Octopus and Filth on Acid, the latter consisting of collaborations with Reinier Zonneveld, T78 and Will Clarke.
Over the last 12 months, HI-LO has become the sixth highest selling Techno artist on Beatport, as well as cemented his place as a top streaming act in the genre.
In recent times Heldens has become a regular supporter of Drumcode’s catalogue via his Heldeep Radio show and DJ sets. Likewise, he’s been on the radar of Adam Beyer since 2019 when the Drumcode boss played his monster cut ‘Poseidon’, which encouraged the young artist to begin sending him demos.
His Drumcode debut ‘Hypnos’ is effective and infectious in equal doses. The title track is led by a catchy bass groove that espouses plenty of personality and is a handy tool for building energy throughout the night. ‘Hera’ is a straight-edged euphoric gem, driven by an uplifting key riff throughout.

Jonathan Kusuma is no stranger to club music. He has played, produced and re-edited multiple works. This is what he excels at. But on Dream Bot, he wants his audience to discover a more introspective side of his. Raised in Indonesia, where rhythms are abound, be it from a folk song sung in a ceremony, a machine in a soul-crushing factory or a Boombox on the back of a bicycle, Jonathan’s ears are destined for a career absorbed in rhythm and sound.
With 5 tracks of kaleidoscopic rhythms and introspective moods on Dream Bot, he is paying homage to his rich musical education and heritage. Layered percussive samples come to mind as well as the intricate interplay of gamelans and moody arpeggios. They both evoke their distinct mournful tunings. Dream Bot is a reminder of his roots and the beauty of the sounds on the Indonesian streets that have left many ears in awe.
For its fourth release, Zen 2000 scales up from the 45 format and releases its first 12-inch, which, coming in at seven tracks (eight with the digital-only bonus) is either a double-wide EP or an LP in everything but name.
The artist behind it is Mogwaa, a South Korean producer who's built a reputation on meticulous and clean-lined melodies and sharp, glistening drums. Sometimes we find him in the club, slinking through dubby bass wobbles, flittering across breaks, and sometimes we find him in a grassy park, sprawled atop a soft ambient bed. No matter where he is, the trademark voicing is always present.
Here, on A Garden Within, we get equal helpings of both: the A-side is the chill-out room, spacey drifters that pulse through the cosmos and wiggle through underwater currents.
The flip is clubbier fare, with “Rejas” being a nod to electro sounds and “Tranquilizer” being a trippy bit of trance. Bookending the journey is “Melting,” an iceberg slowly cracking and falling into the ocean. “Con Fe” is an encore of sorts; it feels like a reconstituting of “Melting,” the reforming of that track's languid dissolution.
Late last year, Canadian producer Priori returned with his second album ‘Your Own Power’ to great acclaim. Released via his NAFF imprint, the album showcased a more contemplative style to his productions and featured one collaborative track with label partner Ex-Terrestrial. The story continues as Priori enlists a heavyweight line-up of artists to rework some of the album’s standout tracks.
Slated to drop on the 18th March, ‘Your Own Power Remixes’ features new editions from Donato Dozzy, Aurora Halal, DJ Python, and Bambounou alongside a Priori VIP - each bringing their own flair and style to the record.
Priori is an alias of Francis Latreille who first put out solo releases on Greek label Echovolt and Canadian imprint ASL Singles Club. Known to be an avid collaborator, Latreille is involved in a number of projects including Jump Source, M.S.L., Housemates, New World Science, ANF and more. He has also worked on mixing projects by fellow artists including Roza Terenzi, Ex-Terrestrial, RAMZi, Bambii, and Ouri.

The fifth vinyl release of HC Records is signed by the Colombian artist Filmmaker. This sound alchemist immerses us in a maze of rhythms and low fi atmospheres that take us back to universes in 8 bits, hidden laboratories with gigantic synthesizers and old rhythm boxes where the electro synth has a main presence.
The first cut of face A is the powerful "Extinction Wave", an effective electro percussive composition, where a dominant bass drives the fate of production around dark melodies and passages loaded with sinister epicity.
"Beast Folk" takes us on the path of Post punk: distorted guitars, sharp synthesizers and a constant sweeping feeling of primitive unreality.
Face B hides in its first cut one of the great jewels of vinyl, "Noir Times", a theme that gives its name to Ep. An exciting production where Filmmaker develops all its melodic potential focused on the dance floor, enhanced by the dynamics of broken rhythms to generate an instant hymn, electro synth straight to your brain.
"Cult Founders" transports us fully to a ritual of ancestral synthesizers, oriental sounds and crispy metallic percussions worthy of a mystical pagan celebration that hatch in a musical orgy for the ear.
Filmmaker closes the vinyl with Vestigium, a dreamlike journey where our senses are calmed, once again giving prominence to the melodies on a calm but forceful rhythm fractured around guitars loaded with murky echoes of the past.
An emotional and exciting ending.
The vinyl comes with a digital download code where you can enjoy the whole ep with two bonus tracks.

Kelly Lee Owens' masterful second album Inner Song finds the convention-blurring techno producer and singer/songwriter diving deep into her own psyche - excoriating the struggles she's faced over the last several years and exploring personal pain while embracing the beauty of the natural world. It's a leap in artistry from a musician who burst forth on the scene with a confident, rich sound, and Inner Song is endlessly enticing when it comes to what Owens is capable of. Inner Song follows the star-making debut of her 2017 self-titled album, a quixotic blend of body-moving beats and introspective songwriting that garnered numerous accolades from the music press. Owens has indeed come a long way from her background as a nurse, since then she has remixed Bjork & St Vincent, released an indelibly clubby two-tracker, 2019's "Let It Go" b/w "Omen," and teamed up with likeminded auteur Jon Hopkins on the one-off "Luminous Spaces." Her latest album also comes off of what Owens describes as "the hardest three years of my life," an emotionally fraught time that, in her words, "Definitely impacted my creative life and everything I'd worked for up to that point. I wasn't sure if I could make anything anymore, and it took quite a lot of courage to get to a point where I could make something again." So while the lovely cover of Radiohead's "Arpeggi" might strike some as an unconventional way to open a sophomore effort, to Owens the winding take on the classic tune - recorded a year before work on Inner Song properly kicked off - represents the sort of sonic rebirth that's so essential to Inner Song's aura. Inner Song was largely written and recorded over a month last winter. As with her debut, Owens holed up in the studio with co-producer and collaborator James Greenwood - and letting loose in the studio and being open to whatever sonic whims emerge was essential to Owens' craftwork. The evocative title of the album is borrowed from free-jazz maestro Alan Silva's 1972 opus, which was gifted to Owens Smalltown Supersound's Joakim Haugland for her 30th birthday: "I'm so grateful for him and his perspectives - he's always thinking outside of the box. Those two words really reflect what it felt like to make this record. I did a lot of inner work in the past few years, and this is a true reflection of that." The hair-raising bass and tickling textures of Inner Song drive home that, more so than ever, Owens is locked in to delivering maximal sonic pleasure - as evidenced by the decision to make the album's vinyl release a sesqui album, or triple-sided album: "I'm still obsessed with frequencies that don't do well on vinyl if they don't have the space." "The power of conceptualizing who you are has really informed this album," Owens states about Inner Song's essence, and her second album is truly a discovery of self - the latest statement from a fascinating artist who continues to surprise, gesturing towards a rich and varied career to come.

Goose bumps mental acid music... The A side is totaly crazy... lots of breaks and reprises to kill the progressive spirit of it and enter a new dimension where the story brings lots of sonic surprises... Through it remains mental and deep, avoiding the acidcore shouting trap. Newskool rocks !
Utter presents The Jaffa Kid’s ‘Acid Raver’ on 2xLP housed in a smiley sleeve with bonus perforated acid tab sheet.
While The Jaffa Kid - real name Daniel Pringle - has been releasing music since the mid 2000’s, he has recently become a man possessed, relentlessly and unceremoniously uploading over 50 albums to Bandcamp since 2019. Prolific is an understatement.
‘Acid Raver’ was recorded in 2019 during what Pringle describes as a ‘two week acid bender’ and is part of an ongoing series of 303-based experiments. With BPMs varying from the 120s up to the 150s, the tracks collected here touch on a variety of acidic styles from the stripped-back and hypnotic to full-blooded jacking fist-pumpers, then on up to all-out squelching pandemonium. Aciiieeed!
Mastered and cut by Helmut Erler at D&M, Berlin in 2020.
Limited to 303 hand-numbered copies :)
