The first release in the eight part “Astra Spectra” series also marks the beginning for new label Science Cult. Techno veteran Stefan Weise (Gem Records, Wolf Trap, Framework Records) and Audiophile Music Group co-founder Jimmy Freer collaborate as Syrte and Visions of Glosters respectively to deliver three highly effective electro cuts, with a space funk centric remix by Syrte.

After a long covid isolation, finally we came back on the street of Berlin.
Since last year, Robotron (Drums) and MCRD (Mic.) got a part of this project
We are now 4 people bringing up own gears on the street and playing them together to generate street acid music.

This acid improvisation was recorded directly to Tascam Portastudio 414 in front of S-Bahn Warschauerstrasse on 21.08.21.

It will be released on cassette tape w/ digi download code by end of October.

The 27th release on Gestalt Records comes from Manchester-based Aiden Francis, spanning three original cuts of driving techno and a levitating remix by South African producer Terrence Pearce aka Biodive.

From his beginnings as F.U.S.E. on Warp, Richie Hawtin has come a long way in the minimal techno game. The Plastikman project now offers up "EX (Performed live at the Guggenheim, NYC)" on Mute. A hugely welcome return, this is his first album under this pseudonym since 2003's seminal 'Closer'. EX was recorded live at the Guggenheim, NYC sometime last year and is a modern update on the hypnotic, slowed-down acid trax that he was a pioneer of way back in 93'. Throughout the seven track album we are treated to his trademark brand of twisted squelchy 303 acid lines, but with a modern backdrop of psychedelic synth lines of epic proportions. There are echos of classic Plastik in the 'Spastik'-like ball bearing snares of 'EXpire' to the more moody tracks like 'EXtend' and onto the sedate house of 'EXtrude' rendering this album the perfect soundtrack for introverted solo missions and late nights wondering around empty art galleries and basement nightclubs.

Re-release of 2manydjs’ seminal album As Heard On Radio Soulwax Pt. 2

In the first two decades of the 21st century, few have controlled the cultural weather quite like Stephen and David Dewaele. The Dewaeles are familiar to millions as 2manydjs, a project which undoubtedly moved the needle for modern DJing. In 2002, after a string of creative broadcasts on radio while still known primarily as a rock band, they released As Heard On Radio Soulwax Pt. 2.

This was a mix so giddy, creative, genre-blurring and downright fun that it could only be considered equal to a full-length album – which is exactly what happened, tallying Album of the Year and Album of the Decade accolades from the likes of The New York Times, Spin, The Face, Pitchfork and more, and shifting over half a million copies globally.

As Heard On Radio Soulwax Pt. 2 is now reissued featuring Richard Young’s iconic original photography. To celebrate this 20th anniversary, 2manydjs will perform at London’s Brixton Academy on Saturday December 17th alongside Miss Kittin, Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul and other 2002-specific special guests to be announced.

The Belgian brothers-in-arms are also known to many as electronic/indie rock band Soulwax, the adored group whose combination of rock, rave and gleaming white suits has proved irresistible to record buyers and festival-goers from the 1990s to the present day.

Through their Ghent-based studio and record label Deewee, the Dewaeles continue to push cutting-edge electronic music, including Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul’s infectious Topical Dancer, one of 2022’s most celebrated electronic pop albums. They have also kept up a hot streak as remixers, applying their signature jagged-yet-refined electro touch to the likes of Róisín Murphy, Peggy Gou, Robyn, Sylvester, Fontaines D.C., Wet Leg and Marie Davidson. Despacio, the roving audiophile soundsystem which the Dewaeles undertake alongside LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy, completes the picture.

Alongside like-minded allies such as Erol Alkan, Tiga and Jacques lu Cont, 2manydjs swept dancefloors into delirium, gifting a rock ‘n’ roll attitude to club culture. Detroit's deep techno master, Deepchord, makes a more than welcome return to Soma after 5 years. With a brand new album dropping, Rod Modell delves deep into his ethereal sonic world to bring you 'Functional Extraits 1'. The first single to be taken from the forthcoming album. Built in a way that only Deepchord can, he transports you to different realms with lush soundscapes and perfectly processed electro-acoustics giving you an insight to the mind of the unique artist.

Shale glides across a field of electo-static noise, guided gently by cisps, fleeting percussion and gently warping synths. Lateral begins awash with waves of sound and glistening dub stabs while rolling beats acts as the heart beat of the track with a building intensity adding a sense of urgency. The uplifting yet dystopian sounds of Mapping spiral into existence urging you down the rabbit hole as more classic techno percussion manoeuvres this track on it's journey. Modell seeking out his roots as yet more traditional dub techno prevails via the final track, Ricochet. Pumping kicks and sub set to a perfect pace and ambience is a perfect, contemporary nod to the time honoured Deepchord sound.

Pampa is ecstatic to welcome Berlin's Mike Denhert for his label debut. Known for an uncompromising, heads-down approach to moving dance floors, whether as a producer, a DJ, or in his live incarnation, Mike has provided 2 original tracks that are as distinct as they are relentless, possessed of a cerebral quality that belies their tough and stripped back aesthetic. How Close To Be' is a stuttering march of half heard and half imagined discourse, broken by bright synthesis which disappears before it can fully form, with the disorientating sonics held in check only by the rigidity of rhythm running throughout the tracks length. It's both surprising and linear. Dark and uplifting. Me Too' is also a creature of opposing ideologies. Warped moving Jazz plays with static Motorik patterns, automation curls around repetition, and textures change position throughout. Bright keys warp, and swing ebbs in and flows out, all to an eventually breathless but ultimately compelling sum of these parts.

Parris Mitchell returns on Chiwax Classic Edition part 23. His former release on Dance Mania #66 from 1994 comes remastered to hit the dance floors again.

With "DIURNAL TIDES: First Wave" we're proud to present not only the first release of our new imprint for classic electronic music mixtape culture but also the first ever official gathering of two long standing figures which both have been relentlessly and continuously contributing to the German underground scene for more than two decades now.

And these two are: baze.djunkiii and THE D3VI7.

baze.djunkiii, Hamburg-born and based, officially entered the electronic music scene as a DJ back in 1997 from an angle of being an enthusiastic raver, launched his very own label Intrauterin Recordings in 1999 and - apart from becoming an 24/7 networker, knowledge hub, music blogger etc. - evolved into one of the most versatile underground DJs and purveyor of original DJ culture around whose journey on the decks has taken him all over Germany as well as to Greece and the United States and to countless hours of air time on a plethora of underground radio stations as well.

THE D3VI7, on the other hand, remains an elusive figure. Deeply rooted in electronic music production and the hell'ish jungle of circuit board wiring as well as DAW madness THE D3VI7 is a moniker created by one of the most active, yet probably most underrated figures on the release circuit, a nom de guerre which serves the sole purpose of being able to operate anonymously without any confirmation bias being attached to other musical guises which might, or might have not, been used previously and in earlier stages of a long lasting involvement in music. And btw - this is the first time ever THE D3VI7 agreed to provide an official DJ mix for a mixtape release.

With baze.djunkiii's mix opening the roughly hour long journey of "DIURNAL TIDES: First Wave" on the A-side we're getting a prime example of what original DJ culture is all about as he's taking us on a fascinating journey from deepest underground Electro to screaming, spiralling Acid madness and beyond, digging up most underground vinyl cuts and making proper use of his extensive collection of rare 7" releases - a format that has been criminally overlooked by many DJs but provides a treasure trove of goodness as this mix easily proves.

Turning the tape THE D3VI7 does what THE D3VI7 does best on the flip: Being a force. A dark one. Forging a pounding, most relentless stream of hammering Techno tunes to take out unsuspecting punters on heaving dancefloors one by one THE D3VI7 provides a high octane selection of peak time excess that either thrills or kills - an ode to the power of raw and unpolished Techno madness in its purest form. A power that cannot be contested. Ever.

Phonica Records proudly welcomes the highly respected producer Dorisburg to their main label roster with a brilliant three track EP of expertly crafted Deep House and Techno.

Sweden’s Dorisburg (real name Alexander Burg) has been consistently creating some of the most carefully constructed dancefloor records over the past decade and his various releases for the likes of Aniara, Bossmusik and Northern Electronics are seemingly always in demand with DJs and listeners alike. His stunning debut album ‘Irrbloss’ on Hivern Discs sold out almost immediately upon release and still fetches high prices on the second-hand market. This is all to say nothing of his involvement in the critically acclaimed duo Genius Of Time with Nils Krogh (aka Arkajo).

While his productions can vary widely from upbeat and melodic to dark and foreboding, one thing is consistent in them all; atmosphere. This latest chapter in the Dorisburg story is no different, with ‘House Organ For The Lonely’ starting the EP off with a slow-building and ominous feel eventually pierced by a delicate synth line. It’s the little details that mark his productions apart, with tiny flourishes throughout imbuing the track with a layer upon layer of texture.

Next up is ‘Fumana Prophecy’, a dark, bubbling cauldron of fizzing and whirring electronics occasionally enveloped by dense pads of bass. Hi-hats ratchet up the intensity. Finally, ‘Rhythm Paint’ begins with more earthly and off-kilter percussion before a glistening digital arpeggio dances on top.

It’s yet another wonderful record from one of the most reliable producers out there.

Another stellar release of tripped out dubby acid excursions by Projective Vision on the ever so tasteful Transmigration label.
Projective Vision open their archive for more tripping acid techno goodness. Originally released on Holistic Recordings in 1994, Close Encounter was the duo’s first record together, quickly becoming a favorite at legendary clubs like Frankfurt’s The Omen. Now faithfully restored and remastered for modern club use.

Waage is a firm favourite amongst dub techno fans. The Icelandic producer has long been turning out icy and atmospheric rollers for the heads and here he works alongside a fresh name, Quantal, who is sure to go on to big things. Here they land on Thule Records, a legendary label in its own right with roots going back to 1995. They kick off with the textured dub of 'WQ1' which has glitchy sounds paying over the rolling drums. 'WQ2' is much more smooth and streamlined, with an underwater current that sweeps you off your feet, then 'WQ3' leans into the wind with hypnotic techno drums and vamping chords that melt the mind. Last of all comes 'WQ4', a timeless dub with infinite horizons and the most frictionless drum loops.

Alexander Kowalski comes along with another floor burning piece of vinyl - the pre-single of his same titled 2nd album! After his recently released debut-album "Echoes" Alexander just dropped two more bombs which we couldn't wait to release.

For the eleventh release on their main catalogue Haven are excited to invite French king of spooky crunched-up rollers and Wrongnotes member Draugr to the label for the first time, alongside some half-time madness from Headless Horseman on the remix.

The A1 gets us moving with Gjöll, where creepy atmospheres, disembodied vocal hits and noisey drum rhythms crash together in a concoction of hard techno destruction. The A2 continues this formula in Völva, with rolling synth lines and demonic ambient textures leading in to an infernal animalistic wail breaking in to the mix following the breakdown.

The B1 continues the destruction on the flip with Vigrid - a hectic drum rhythm work out buttressed with spiky metallic patterns and further ghoulish sound design and sampling. Headless Horseman closes out the record with his remix of Gjöll, transforming it into sinister half-time stepper ripe with droning atmospheres and powerful drum hits to finalise another offering of club ready mania from Haven.

Parallax Unknown returns a year on from their last record with another 4 tracker EP from ES-Q, featuring Lobster Theremin regular and Four triangles boss ASOK. Casting patterns, Lunatic Fringe & Intuition sees more of ES-Q's synth-ed out drum machine sounds with the lead track getting a deep, yet uplifting broken beat rework from ASOK.

Foreign Policy is the electronic music project of Berlin based artist Thomas Ricard, co-founder of the Area Z collective. "Watching Existence" marks his debut release as well as his first 12", a six track journey of scorched electro industrial & techno body music operating as a conduit for his social observations on the modern condition, human rights and civil liberties. The 12" EP also includes a remix by SARIN. Available as vinyls & digital.

His sound can be described as a mix of influences oscillating between club oriented EBM-Techno and Industrial music, combined with a taste for dark cinematic atmospheres and soundscapes.

Ocktawian delivers four high-octane cuts of direct, peak-time techno to mint the Sinxergy label. Opening with a slamming 909 assault, "Error System" then dips into the hadal zone with a tripped-out sci-fi sound, and "Hurricane" gives the EP a touch of old school flavour. On remix duties is none other than Detroit veteran Mike Storm, who strips back "Error System" into an atmospheric roller for the twilight hours. All up, Unpatterns is a stand-out first transmission from the Berlin-based label, welcoming two artists fresh from album releases on Jeff Mills' Axis Records, and providing a platform for them to create something new.

Paris-based DJ and producer Anetha’s enigmatic label Mama Told Ya is a collaborative venture. Pushing artists out of their comfort zone to new heights of experimentation and creativity, yielding progressive results that challenge and intrigue.

The next instalment comes in the form of a kaleidoscopic debut release as a two vinyl pack from French producer and A/V artist UFO95, titled “Popularity is overrated”. This will be the first double EP on the label, with previous records released as split EP four-tracker collaborations with artists and Anetha herself, including Niki Istrefi, Hadone, ABSL and Sugar.

UFO95 is a French electronic music producer, who finds his roots in 90’s techno, UK jungle and also through IDM, creating a unique tribal sound. His lives ( live ; live A/V ) are like his music, dynamic and really hypnotizing. He releases his debut LP “Popularity is overrated” on Anetha’s label, Mama Told Ya.


As well, Anetha collaborates with a different visual artist on each project; Recsoverto takes center stage on the cover for this release, who combines ethereal visuals parodying Japanese video games and hyper-real typography.

The record is beautifully eclectic and has the effortless feel of a live set from a promising new producer. Opener ‘Sun S4lutation’ is a silky melodic affair, diving into a runaway breakbeat with a hypnotic edge crafting an effortlessly colorful trip. ‘2am’ is a tense nosedive into techno’s heady mutations, harnessing a prevailing kick and wormhole synths.

Up next is the masterful collaborative track with Anetha ‘On/Offline’. The track starts with an infectious energy, before vocal inflections and a dreamy hyper-real synth melody blend to hypnotic heights, transporting the listener to a open-air rave. ‘Should I Go’ is heady and bold in its brutal drum work and twisting synths, ‘Enchanted Forest’ is playful and addictive, ‘Rrkja’ starts wild until heavenly synths glow around the edges, and ‘OE’ carries the sentiment of amalgamation with a fierce kick drum and a symphonic chorus. Ending on a rough edged high, closer ‘Volcano’ takes an IDM approach with glitchy drums, weaving synths and groovy vocal inflections.

4E used to be Khan’s apartment number in New York City’s East Village back in the late 90’s. 4E became the trademark sound for his downbeat acid infused electro work. On his kitchen floor he produced a very unique brand of futuristic funk tracks with only a ROLAND TB-303, SH-101 and the Hip-Hop fundamental SP1200 drum sampler.

Besides a couple of 12”s for Force Inc. Music and the “Gentle Killer E.P.” on Freddy Fresh’s Socket imprint, 4E released the highly acclaimed downbeat electro album “4E4ME4YOU” on German glitch label Mille Plateaux.

Back in 1998 4E shared the now legendary 12” with I-F “Space Invaders Are Smoking Grass” on the “From Beyond Series” by Ectomorph’s Interdimensional Transmissions.

“Pills & Thrills” on Temple Traxx is four previously unreleased acid-electro stomper that are as funky and noisy as it can get on an East Village kitchen floor.

In 1993 two of the big guns in the rave scene came together and made some music. The duo wrote many tracks and remixes together during that year, but two tracks slipped through the net and vanished without trace. That is until now. Aphrodite located the masters hidden on DAT tape and hooked up with Vinyl Fanatiks to finally make them available. Two raw, uncompromising early hardcore tracks created on an Amiga using analogue gear. This is the original sound of the infamous British rave scene as it morphed into what became hardcore and then jungle. 27 years later and they still shake a bassbin.

Bizz O.D. is somewhat of a mystery.
A known fact is that she released noisy hypnotic acid-house tracks on Force Inc. and Smile Communications back in 1993-1998. 'Warship The Speakers' was taken very literally when Detroit was kneeling in front of their sound- system praying to the allmighty bass drum. 'I'm Coming Out Of Your Speakers' went heavy rotation with Junior Vasquez at Sound Factory NYC. A collaboration with Jimi Tenor for OZON Records in 1995.
A few live shows have been proven to be Bizz O.D. herself. She would send someone, kinda anybody, to play her trademark Casio RZ-1 drum-machine and tweak her TB303 acid-lines. The vocal loops coming off some defunkt Dictaphone. So she's never been really seen or photographed. Bizzi has ZERO social media except the mentions on Discogs and some up-loads on YouTube.
'The New York Push' is two previously unreleased tracks. Fetish club, distortion and newyorican-soul all in one. Set aside some pretty bizarr promo pictures that will add to the mystery.
It's House, New York House with a Latin-Industrial subtext. Ok, whatever!

Jimi Tenor & Bizz O.D. met 1989 in a Helsinki club called Berlin. They decided to move to New York City in 1992 to start the band "Public Extacy" which never saw the light of day. A few years later, Jimi had already left NYC but was visiting so the two met to record "Bizz O.D. & Jimi Tenor's Traffic E.P.". Released in 1995 on OZON Records founded by nobody else but Jammin' Unit and Biochip C. Originally a 3 track e.p.but we at Temple Traxx thought that it was the right time to remaster and reissue this acid jewel and add an unreleased bonus track called "Girls" in this limited edited edition. This 4 track e.p. shows once more that the two artists are real inovators and pioneers of a sound that is hipper than ever in 2020.

After having two of his earlier tunes remodelled by Carl Craig and Mike Huckaby thanks to Sushitech, Detroit's Delano Smith re-emerges on the label with a double pack of tunes made with Brawther under the D&B Productions. That moniker has more to do with the pair's name rather than a suddenly conversion to drum & bass, although there's a love of dubby effects and deep bass power here that - at a stretch - could be said to be in common. The six tracks - Symbiosis' 1-6 - are smooth and simple, but executed with an ear (or four) for an irresistible groove, an economic but rhythmic keyboard stab and a knack for squeezing something nicely soulful from the barest ingredients. Nice work indeed.

Fur Coat drop second single from upcoming album with Johannes Brecht on remix duties…

Fur Coat return to Renaissance as the run-in to their eagerly anticipated second album ‘Polyphony’ really starts to pick-up a head of steam. To ensure the pistons are pumping and things are approaching maximum velocity, the Latin American duo deliberately picked one of the strongest tracks for their sophomore session, ‘Shades’ - available here on a full 12" side for optimum loudness and club play.

“Shades is one of Polyphony’s more defined dancefloor cuts,” explains Fur Coat’s Sergio, “it was a natural choice for it to be a single. The thing that really underlined the decision was Johannes though. We sent the entire album over to him and said, ‘take your pick’. When he immediately chose ‘Shades’ Israel and I were left with no doubt whatsoever.”

In its original guise the track is an exemplary slice of melodic techno; that happy marriage of opposites, where dark, brooding base meets a memorable, infectious top-line. It’s firmly in ‘hum it all the way home from the club after just one listen’ territory.

Johannes Brecht’s take is a remix in the very best sense of the word. He takes the top line by the scruff of the neck and transports into the very different, yet oh-so-now world of atmospheric
breaks.

It’s one of those rare interpretations that can sit as comfortably at an Ibizan sunset as one of its famed (yet to be re-opened) dancefloors at 4am.

All in all, this is an exceptional release from two of the most exceptional production talents at work
today.

Jammin' Unit is not only my brother but one of the most prolific producer of electronic music since the early days of techno. He is one half of legendary electronic super group Air Liquide and made his way into history books with tracks like 'If The Was No Gravity' and 'Revelation' lately featured on Nina Kraviz - Fabric 91 mix.

'Remore Car Babe' was originally released on clear 10' via Temple Records NYC in 1997 and is now remastered by the man himself for our 2018 ears. Re-issued on 12' black vinyl for more gain and better audio quality.

In his own words he describes the 4 track e.p. as: 'The sound was created for headphone listening during remote car racing. Enhancing the feel of speed and aggressiveness was the goal'.

To me it feels like a manga comic strip eched on vinyl. No headphone necessary to go on this speed racing trip of extacy and pounding bliss.
A re-issue I am especially proud of to hear on dance-floors around the globe.

Brazilian producer Marcal joins Rekids Special Projects series with a four track EP of Reduction Pt.1 & Pt.2

Releasing on labels such as Phobiq and Sam Paganini’s JAM, Marcal has been turning heads for some years now with regular support from iconic names like Len Faki, Adam Beyer, Charlotte de Witte, and more. Adding Radio Slave to that list, Marcal now joins Rekids Special Projects with arguably his most exceptional release to date.

‘Ainozama’ opens the package with pace as banging drums, offbeat clicks and a murky low-end lay the foundation for rave inspired screeches. Next up the relentless and undulating groove of ‘Heart Race’ which comes complete with sci-fi inspired bleeps. On the flip and we have Reduction Pt.2 featuring ‘Angry Teleprinter’ & ‘Sentinel’ both tracks have tightly wound energy that is sustained throughout in glorious style. Marcal constructs undulating, nagging grooves, it's his use of barely tamed synths, FX and vocal snippets that give the classic techno frames real character as they shoot around the tracks with a distinct life-of-their-own feel.

Massturbator was originally recorded 1995 in Bizz O.D.'s kitchen in Brooklyn, New York. This hardcore acid 12" went straight to number #1 of the CMJ techno charts back in the days and has not lost any of it's Acid-Punk power. The four tracks are somewhat of a blueprint for bands like Animal Collective's hyper-jazz or Sleaford Mods proto-punk. They mentioned Massturbator in interviews as an inspirational force. For most DJ's too fast, too hard, but thanks to modern technology you can always pitch down 30bpm to please some fat ass, old, Berghain crowd. Jack Off and hail mAssturbator!

Mind Against are back on Afterlife with two emotive, dancefloor masterpieces.

‘Walking Away’, featuring the deeply-affecting vocals of Port St. Willow, centres around uplifting harmonic elements and a resonant drum pattern. It strikes that special balance of light and dark which makes Mind Against’s tracks uniquely cathartic. ‘Bloom’ is more a melancholy, downtempo interpretation of their vision. The percussion is restrained and sits deep below atmospheric pads and piano chords, eventually arriving at a gradual and subtle peak. Mind Against reach euphoric heights once again, though this time by a patient and reflective path.

New full length album of Franck Vigroux's uncompromising signature sound of colossal electronic music. Atotal gathers material from Franck's latest live A/V of the the same name. Working with his long time visual partner Antoine Schmitt, ATOTAL is an audiovisual performance aiming to reconstruct in order to better deconstruct the processes of imposition of will by repetition and absolute synchronism, to propose a breach to a potentially life-saving decoincidence. The total work of art, when pushed to its paroxysm of absolute coincidence of the perceptions of a captive spectator, is similar to the techniques of mental manipulation of totalitarian regimes, proceeding by annihilation of the critical mind, repetitive semantic pounding, subliminal messages. The ideal of a deterministic universe of Newton in which everything rationally stems from its causes, in which everything is predictable like a totality for Laplace’s daemon, where everything can be considered already written, has been undermined in the infinitely small of the uncertainties of Heisenberg which tell us that it is impossible to know everything about a particle, in the quantum mechanics of Schrödinger which reveals to us that the looker affects the looked-at, and in the infinitely abstract of Gödel’s incompleteness which explains to us that certain things are literally unexplainable. Producer, author, composer, multi-instrumentalist, dub organizer, label manager and singer with a unique voice, Joe Yorke is a breath of fresh air in the contemporary UK reggae scene. Known by reggae specialists for his work with the Co-operators and recently exposed to a wider audience through his two singles recorded in collaboration with Stand High Patrol, the Northern artist presents his first self-produced album : "Noise And Emptiness".

On Rhythm Steady’s debut LP, Joe Yorke plays the card of authenticity, filled with strong drum and bass sections, grooving silences, striking dub segments and heart touching vocals. Joe Yorke's music evokes the sound of Channel One UK, Channel One JA and Randy's which are among the most iconic studios of English and Jamaican reggae history. He cruises between Kingston, soundsystem dub's England, Wackies's New York and Rhythm And Sound's Berlin. Throughout the eight tracks and three dubs that make up the album, these influences collide to reveal the Rhythm Steady aesthetic : a deep, meditative and solid roots sound dubbed with no compromises.

With two singers and deejay features and lyrics that are part of a “conscious” tradition, the parsimoniously employed vocals leave a vast space for dub. Noise and Emptiness opens a window on the musical universe built by Joe Yorke, celebrating old school roots and dub music, from the studio to the soundsystem. Already played on the radio by great names of reggae such as David Rodigan, Don Letts, Dennis Bovell and Nick Manasseh, “Noise And Emptiness” will awaken the sensitivity of any lover of the genre. Others are already talking about a capital UK Roots / UK Dub release.

On behalf of re:discovery records, it is with great excitement that we announce the release of 'Ambient7 - Excepts from 1995-2000' compilation. Ambient7 was a threesome out of Japan that included Chica Asamoto, Masayuki Momo and Shuichi Ikebuchi. Chica Asamoto, an accomplished saxophone player while Masayuki Momo and Shuichi Ikebuchi are both talented synthesizer players and producers in their own right. Together, they released 3 full albums during a 6 year span from 1995-2000. Ambient7's sound was a blend of chill-out styles including ambient, techno, balearic house and everything inbetween. A unique and heartfelt far east version of chill-out music going on at the time like what you would have heard on Waveform Records, Silent, Quango and many beloved other labels. While it was hard to pick out just one EP's worth of tracks from 3 full length cd's, we felt these that were chosen is a great collection and examples to fit the vinyl
medium. Also, this record could be equally appreciated in the hands of chill-out aficionado's, music collectors or brave and ecclectic DJ's. Those 3 customer bases are always on our minds to make happy here at re:discovery records. The track 'Escape' covers most of the A-side. A soft ambient techno track with a touch of dub that is sure to sit along the greats of the genre and the time. Surrounding 'Escape', are two short but worthy examples of the Ambient7 sound. First, is the unique tribal attention getter that is 'Prologue' then ending with the beautiful Balearic saxophone serenade that is 'Epilogue'. The b-side might throw you for a loop after hearing the first side. 'Deep Sea' comes in just under 11 minutes that has to be heard to understand what is harder to explain. The balancing of mood is particularly interesting. How something can be so hauntingly relaxing yet can evolve into something so ominous and mysterious had to make this EP collection. We won't say much more. Check it out and make up your own mind. Turn up the volume, close your eyes and enjoy the trip! Lastly, is the Balearic ambient house lullaby that is 'Orange Sunshine. Some who have heard this track call it a reason to buy the record alone for not even hearing the other tracks on this EP. A standout and a perfect set opener or closer, this is sure to be the re:discovery track for the summer for 2022.

Ambient7 - Excepts From 1995-2000

South-east Turkey born DJ, sound artist and producer Banu uses music as a political tool. For her, the strong message carried through sound is a vehicle to express emotions as well as a means of fighting against oppression. Using participation, social design, ecology, feminist and queer theory to create multimedia installations with sound as a main element, Banu‘s practice is closer to contemporary art and activist spaces than the club realm.

Banu‘s debut album TransSoundScapes is an exercise in female solidarity between her as a migrant woman and her sisters from the trans community, where an artist from one marginalised group is showing support towards her trans sisters, using her platform to help them amplify their voices and building a bridge towards a mutual understanding of femininity.

Conceptually, TransSoundScapes comes in continuation of Banu‘s previous research-based work, using music as a positive tool for change while working with various marginalised communities. The album originated from the very real experience of being confronted with verbal harassment in Berlin on a daily basis, particularly aimed at her transfeminine friends and companions. As a queer woman of Turkish and Kurdish origin, Banu did not only observe the verbal aggression directed at her friends, but also understood most of the insults shouted in languages such as Arabic. Seeing how she got signifi cantly more verbal violence directed at them when in company of trans people made a lasting impression on her, so she wanted to try and use her relative privilege to amplify transfeminine voices through her music.

Coming from a very conservative family, making music has been her lifelong dream. It was the moment she had the opportunity to work with the iconic Arp 2600 synthesiser (a younger sibling to Eliane Radigue‘s infamous 2500 machine) that all her disparate interests came into place to create an empowering soundscape with the aid of analogue drum machines. TransSoundScapes has a very full, porous sound, where every element that comes into play sounds soft yet clear. Across the 7 tracks, Banu conjures pounding subterraneous bassy techno („Surgery“), slithering tentacular EBM („First Time“) and pulsating cavernous soundscapes („Harem“), where oversized dancefl oor elements are woven with poetic spoken word passages, resulting in sensusous yet political anthems. Banu artfully merges loosely related genres such as techno, electro, dub and sound poems into a sound that is at once deeply personal and extremely compelling.

All of the tracks are collaborative efforts, Banu seeing the process as an exchange of care and shared experiences, while integrating research into her writing process. The lyrics in „Transition (part 1+2)‘‘ are an adaptation of Sara Ahmed’s “Living a Feminist Life”, while „Surgery“ was born out of series of interviews with trans people, channeling the metallic sounds of a surgery room to refer to society‘s perception of transness as a medical condition. Tracks like „First Time feat. Patricia“, „Harem feat. Prince Emrah“ or „We feat. Aérea Negrot“ document her encounters with various trans women, centering their life experiences while also developing a deep dialogue through the process of making music together.

The darkest and perhaps the most emblematic track is ‚‘Bianka (In Memory Of)‘‘, dedicated to the late Bianka Shigurova, a 22-year old Georgian actress found dead in her apartment. It was her Tbilisi photographer friend George Nebriedze who told her Bianka‘s tragic story, whose death is suspected to be an assasination due to transphobia. Banu chose one of Nebriedze‘s analogue photos of Bianka as the album‘s cover art.

Konduku returns to the Delsin Mantis series with an exciting double pack (Mantis 09 + 10) which dives deeper into his remarkable fractured rhythms and light-touch synthesis. Over the course of nine tracks Ruben Uvez straddles the space between introspective headphone trips and hypnotising dancefloor elegance, operating in a liminal zone of fluid tempos, submerged atmospheres and pointillist beats. It's an open-ended but clear-sighted approach that aligns perfectly with the direction of the Mantis series. Mantis 10 opens up with the circular electronica of 'Trail', masking the start and end points of the groove with the kind of polymetric construction Uvez has made his name with. The pattern continues through the displaced, dubby experimentation of 'Lust' before the more sharply defined transcendental tone of 'Lavender' cuts through the fog. 'Dalgin' rides its pattering percussion on a minimalist D&B growl, setting the scene for the dislocated, avant-darkside closer 'Helles'.

Lead track ‘WH?T’ is a brutal dancefloor track, weighted by a thundering distorted bass and skittering broken breakbeats and meticulous drum programming. Title based sample “Whaaaaaaaaaaaat” chimes in now and then to remind you what you’re listening to.
Label boss Pinch is first up on remix duties, taking the ‘WH?T’ original and deeply upsetting it. Hard bang with some 4/4 bits and loads of distortion.
We flip then for a rare collaboration between Fjaak and Felix’s brother J. Manuel (originally a founding mem- ber of Fjaak and brother of Felix), taking things into scribbly-acid territory, while keeping the mood low-slung and rolling. Dangerous beat manipulator Eric Baldwin aka Cocktail Party Effect finishes up the plate with a synapse-sizzling version backed by heavy drum programming and ankle hugging subs.

Aquaregia presents Acid Analects, a new VA series showcasing the many facets of acid. Volume 1 brings a club-oriented selection of four tracks, each masterfully produced by a global array of artists. Italian producer Nicola Dal Sacco opens the release with an old school squelching 303 workout in 'Calorica'. On the A2, Berlin-based Elad Magdasi presents 'Robotricks', a dark and hypnotic trip embellished with acid wisps. Introducing the B-side, the Canadian, 747, brings a fast and furious acidic bassline in his track 'Domain Expansion'. And to close the release, Australian mastermind, DJ Huntsman, finishes with an ultra speedy and euphoric psytrance heater in 'Planet Psygon'

Sometimes, looking back to the tracks that have been most inspirational yields very interesting results. In the last couple of years these four tracks stood out and share a deep sonic connection. All artists produced music in the early/mid 80s, played in post-punk, experimental and EBM/industrial bands and transitioned naturally into the techno, ambient and trance sounds of the early 90s, while maintaining an elemental early 80s live feel in the process. It’s no coincidence that these tracks date back to 92-94, a time defined by rapid technological change and a major political landslide.

The fall of the Berlin wall seemed to herald the dawn of a new era of peace and prosperity. The Cold War thawed, a sense of relief took hold, the West appeared victorious and the future looked bright. The emergence of rave culture seemed to embody this world of endless technological possibility and future optimism, techno-optimism indeed. Fast forward to 2019 and this optimism has obviously faded into oblivion, where the dream of universal freedom turned out be the empty promise of free market hypercapitalism beneficial to a small elite only. But thirty years ago rave culture was the product of that change and felt like a new home for those who discovered it. All these tracks are a precursor to sounds we hear today, an integral part of an ongoing cycle of trends where successive generations take over from previous ones. Rediscovery of that moment in time and sound is what Transition is all about, a collection of penultimate tracks that define that era.

Recut and Repressed !

After the success of its first mission, Shin’uchū is ready to launch again with Tansei and its crew of groovy space wanderers. Equipped with the latest cyberacoustic technology, the light blue spaceship is set to uncover the deepest notes of our mysterious universe. Captain Dandeloo has called upon some of the best cosmic producers to join him on this voyage into the dark zone: tempo master Vitess in charge of navigation, the effervescent Muten on maintaining power generation, and cryptanalyst Lamalice for deciphering even the most intricate of detected pulses. Whatever challenges come bouncing their way, the team will face them head on as they continue to push the limits of interstellar travel through the rhythms of the heavens.

Label residents Gridzone & Gold Soundz take the A side of the vinyl. “Link” is a blissful jungle track with soothing pads and tearing amens. “Can’t Stop How I Feel” is straight from the late 92 early 93 London pirate radio locker. Surely this was made back in the day??

Riffz makes his solo debut on the label. This track is rough, as the title suggest. It’s a great dance floor tune. We love it

Finally, Beardy makes his TT debut. This track has been around for a while. There have been people wanting it on vinyl for a couple of years now. Finally this happens. A great example of the dark & light hardcore from the glory days.

There's a beautifully symmetrical aesthetic to the latest Lempuyang release that totally mirrors the impeccably positioned and delicately balanced sounds going on in the grooves. Two of the most consistent producers of the last few years - Altone and Gradient - produce creatively related tracks, the former named 'Day Drama' and the latter taking on 'Night Drama'. Then they hand their respective tracks over to each other for remixing duties and bingo, a pretty vital 12" is created, a gorgeous set of shimmering dubs on the A-side, and some heavyweight business for dark rainy nights on the flip. Both producers employ a modern day dub flavour to their minimal, moody techno, with it probably being fair to say that the influence of Maurizio and the Basic Channel label is fairly significant in the worlds of both. Altone's sound is a little grittier and seemingly fizzing with radioactivity, decaying and disintegrating as each offering proceeds, where there's something a bit more spartan and linear about Gradient's grooves, that seem to undulate and reverberate almost invisibly, propelling these exceptionally mixable, enjoyable DJ tools along almost under their own momentum. Nice work all round.

The last part of the dancer's trilogy: With Border One's 'Throw' Ressort Imprint closes it's triplette on the definition of modern Techno's different sound colours. And it's getting more and more playful.

Border One might be a new name popping up here and there recently but the young Belgian DJ and producer is by no means a newbie to the scene. Knowing that it is no wonder that his debut on Ressort Imprint sounds very sophisticated and mature as his three original drafts show a very classical illustration about his passion for Techno music.

The title track 'Throw' starts of with a playful yet unobtrusive melody and shows the Ghent-based producer's ability for shifting moods with very subtile yet effective measures. 'Morphosis', on the other hand, gives a real club momentum while 'Tube' is succeeding with topping itself bar by bar. All of this is rounded up by a big room take from one of our favourites, being Thomas Hessler. It is save to say: We will hear a lot about Border One in the future.

House music maestro, Darius Syrossian, cues up a pair of scintillating tracks for Ben Rau’s META imprint, expertly showing his credentials when it comes to delivering effective club cuts.

An ever-present DJ and producer on the circuit for many years, Syrossian has built up an enviable catalogue of music for labels such as 8bit, Hot Creations, Robsoul, amongst others. He runs the
successful Moxy Muzik imprint, which racks up high vinyl sales and top Beatport chart positions, and also has a release for Crosstown Rebels dropping in the coming months. As a DJ, the Tehran-born
artist needs little introduction, suffice to say that he’s clocked up thousands of gigs and parties around the world, and in particular making Ibiza a regular mainstay in his annual diary.

The shimmering synth intro ‘La Tribu’ succumbs to a slammin’ and swinging four to the floor beat, as Syrossian teases vocal chops and deft organ stabs, building up the energy levels with some spanking
hand claps and an infectious groove. On ‘Dream Thief’, Syrossian parades a deeper side, as a shuffling rhythm is cloaked with reverbed percussion, warming Rhodes keys and freestyling guitar licks
for a highly sophisticated and contagious jam.

After what feels like an eternity, we can finally reclaim our dance floors. Get ready to dust off your dancing shoes, and don't worry, Malugi will provide you with just the right tools to come back with a bang.

Not a newcomer to the dance music scene, with his own event series Club Heart Broken, Malugi is stepping up to begin releasing some of his own productions. On his new EP 'Stay The Night' Malugi mixes several genres, crossing boundaries from pumpy House all the way through to pulsing Techno and rough Electro, with a Pop sensitivity, that he is best known for.

The sixth release from SNC Recs is sure to make you want to stay the night and it’s more than safe to say that Malugi's energy will make any dance floor shake.

Unwashed acid house and disco through a broken South London filter - from "70s New York bathhouses to "80s Chicago nightclubs via the Brixton Windmill. Bring a towel. Decius are brothers Liam and Luke May, founders of Trashmouth Records, together with Quinn Whalley (Paranoid London/Warmduscher) and Fat White Family frontman Lias Saoudi. Those with an ear to the ground will have picked up on a string of self-released 12"s over the last few years, supported by the likes of Daniel Avery, Honey Dijon, Ivan Smagghe, Mike Servito, 2 Many DJs, Moxie and Erol Alkan. Decius Vol. I is a lean entry point to their sordid world - dark, uncut, unrefined and unrepentant.

Tikita welcomes Neel for a first release in collaboration with label mainstays natural/electronic.system.
The four tracks here cover deep, rolling, dubby tribal techno. The opener is sparse and dark, Gracida is more urgent and alien with watery droplets and wet melodies, then Sinistra is mind melting and loopy techno that takes you into the cosmos. Last of all, Percussiva has supple Jeff Mills style synths warping round each other as heavy drums pound below. It is brilliantly consuming techno from some of the best in the game.

A side brings an epic Tune. Starting with a minimal beat that opens on a mystical melodious drop... that wont let you down till the end of the tune. A regul 160 BPM speed driver.
