Perc Trax's resident sonic explorer, modular innovator and all round Cornish bad boy Ansome returns to the label for his second album, following on from 2016's "Stowaway". Thankfully a move to Berlin a few years ago has not dulled or diluted his sound as he returns sharper and more focused than ever.

In the three years since "Stowaway" he has toured the world as a live act, a DJ and also with his collaborative performances with Perc. Away from clubs and festivals he has stirred up a hornet's nest on online opinion with his "British Steel" EP and continued to build up his own SLAM label into an essential source of uncompromising techno.

"Hounds Of The Harbour" extends the sonic reach of his debut album taking the Ansome sound simultaneously deeper but also harder. An expanded palette of textures are on display as razor sharp lead lines blend with cavernous spaces and tight rolling grooves. Early favourite "Copper" twists and turns across its arrangement refusing to ever just get locked into a monotonous groove whilst the title track and "Last Bottle" shows a melodic edge previously unseen in Ansome's work. The dancefloor is never left too far behind and the crunching beats of "Smuggler's Den" and "Hell For Leather". Always pushing forwards, never looking back "Hounds Of The Harbour" lays out the current Ansome sound whilst hinting at what is to come in the future.

Flashmob's - Year 1993 is a deep organ tech tool that takes over big and small rooms alike, just made for peak time hours. Danny returns with Slate, a laidback track that hooks with tight snares and a locked groove. Next up are Spencer K and Collective Machine who joined forces for this release and we hope they're up to repeat it, since that's all where doing with Sonic Attitude and Hit that Way(Digital Only) . Clio completes the package and brings us some good summer vibes with I Need You , need anything else

kniteforce head honcho and all round oddball Luna-C drops an eclectic remix EP, featuring tracks spanning his entire 3 decade career. Shoreman takes “Bomb Da Bassline” and makes it as mad as you might expect from the mastermind behind “On The Edge”. Success’n’Mistreat meanwhile is remixed back to the early 90’s sound of MARRS and that sample heavy era. The Wislov remix of “Edge Of Madness” is perhaps the standout, being a classic anthem remixed into an even more formidable style, and the EP is rounded off by KF newcomer Dj Beeno, who takes the obscure “Hurricane” and blows it away…

London-based, Belfast raised talent Swoose lands on Lost Palms dishing up four slices of transcendental music to get lost in. ‘Introspective’ EP traverses sundowners, sunrises and the hours in between. Swoose injects a fresh burst of life to timeless sounds with this lush EP.

Opener ‘Introspective’ is bright, machine music; dreamy shimmers propelled by feel-good four to the floor kicks and spacey synths. Next up, mystical trance cut ‘Musa’ points towards Swoose’s influences. Hedonistic loops, euphoric vocals sit over driving, club-ready wiggler, a clear nod to a sound synonymous with Belfast. On the flip, stripped back ‘Smile’ is blissed out house to transport you to warmer climes. Rounding out the EP, hands in the air come courtesy of emotional ‘Lotus’. Ethereal vocals sit upon kickin’ broken beats, on this enigmatic, moodier cut.

Exciting new producer Yves Tomas releases on Rekids with ‘Pilot EP’ this May - a bold and versatile debut release exhibiting the artist’s broad range of influences.

Hailing from London but with roots in Bristol, Yves Tomas is a producer, vocalist and DJ brought up in the centre of UK club music. Since experimenting with music through his childhood and early teens he’s gone on to become an engineer, working in studios alongside some of the biggest names in grime and pop music. This has led to him developing his own unique style of electronic music as a reactionary expression to working in the meat grinder culture of mainstream music. He now joins Radio Slave
Rekids - a label known and respected for discovering many luminary figures in electronic music.

With its otherworldly melody and echoing effects, ‘Braindead’ is a downtempo track that remains beatless until the halfway mark, moving onto the beautifully arranged ‘MA1’ with its reverb-drenched breaks, quivering synths, and ever-evolving chopped and looped vocals. ‘River’ then incorporates elements of grime and jungle courtesy of its lively stabs, soulful chords and compelling rhythm built on punchy percussion. Taking things into a spiritual direction, Elephant & Snake’ meanders forward using
syncopated drums, washy chants and elevating organ keys before ‘Callout FM’ follows with its rattling snares, twisted arpeggios, and crystalline pads.

Nearing the end, ‘Pilot’ is a stripped-back affair with sporadic kicks, a fuzzy bassline, and vocoder vocals until digital bonus track ‘Birds Of The Barbican’ ties everything together by generating an uplifting atmosphere destined to elevate revellers for many years to come.

In a cardboard media background, where cliche is law, where the digital essence of the personal data is more meaningful than the person itself, the Bait e Borghi project arises. The natural environment beyond anthropization, the technic and technologic strained clutch inside the places that inspired the album. The traveller meant as the one that makes the trip his own life, and that inevitably moves so far away from common archetypes that defeats every possible storytelling but the sound evocation. A sound that becomes the last unreal notebook like the matter which dreams and memories are made of. An unlikely but possible distopia where our last Thule remains the passage between body and machine, cyberpunk myth yet beautifully imagined and illustrated during the eighties. Not by chance Bait e Borghi share the same starting point, the same region that assumes twisted features if observed from the mid Adriatic offshore oil platforms point of view. Squalo, Giovanna, Ombrina are the point at issue, monumental media short-circuits, disclosed and hidden truths at the same time

Three years after the release of Adrift, Ebauche (aka Alex Leonard) returns with a beautiful new ambient LP. It is inspired by a strange disconnected dream during a long cross-country journey through Poland in the depths of winter in 2014. Mutable reflects the rhythms of that journey and the ethereal dreamscape which enveloped him.

Each track on Mutable pulsates and wraps around itself, gradually evolving its soundscape and encasing the listener in a deep and rewarding world. There is careful exploration of polyrhythmic variations within juxtaposed morphing drones bubbling out from stacks of synthesizers. The pieces are densely layered with fine detail, often only revealed on repeated listens, and are subtly backed by field recordings from locations around Poland.

Chwiać opens the album with scintillating polyrhythms and pulsating bass tones; continuously folding in on itself teasing elements in and out of our awareness. Zmienny evolves gently over its 11 minutes, voices skittering in the background whilst synths, horns and strings grow, waver, and vacillate. Rozwijać is a lovingly constructed soundscape full of warmth and gentle tones which lull the listener to serenity as the album closes.

Each piece on the album is accompanied by a unique painting created by Polish artist Adrianna Snochowska. The paintings are 50 x 35 cm mixed media (texture & oil paint) on canvas. Adrianna spent many hours listening to the draft mixes whilst creating these paintings and moulded the texture effects to the sounds on each track.

Additionally, long-time producer Arovane has provided a remix of Chwiać which is included on the release. The remix picks up on Chwiać's pulsing polyrhythms and wraps them in layers of gritty distortion and subtle melodic nuances, underpinned by driving beats.

Currently based in Berlin, Germany, Alex Leonard's last release as Ebauche was in 2015, titled Adrift, was listed in Ambient Music Guide's best albums of 2015 and received a glowing review from Hypnagogue.

The idea of this records came out of a book called The Metamorphosis of Plants, written by Goethe in the 18th century. I was also triggered by a greek friend, who explained me the etymology of the world ""metamorphosis"", that is such an interesting greek concept.

Emerging from the epic Scottish house and techno scene of the 90s, George Thomson started his musical adventures as a promoter, bringing to Scotland DJs from Chicago, New York, Toronto, Paris and London to play at the legendary Tribal Funktion parties in Edinburgh.

Aside from co-founding Edinburgh's Underground Solushn record shop, he also started producing his own blend of techno and house in the mid-nineties. This led to a string of releases with seminal labels such as NRK, Stickman, 2020 vision, Crosstown Rebels, Tirk and more recently Greco-Roman and Output Recordings. His various monikers from then and now include Plastic Avengers, George Demure and more recently the George part of of Jeanga and George.

After a move to London in 2000 his George T moniker began a long hiatus. Nothing was heard until Joe Goddard released an EP of rediscovered hidden gems on Greco-Roman in 2017. This awoke the fire within and he’s back today with the first new George T material in 19 years.

The Midway EP was recorded in North London over a period of 2 years, using only analog gear and embracing memory, movement and the moment. These four tracks are a love letter to club life, both then and now. This love is best demonstrated with the four accompanying short films using either nightclub footage from 1996, slow motion lido footage or Bauhaus triadic ballet inspired time lapse choreography.

Code Is Law founder Mørbeck launches his new Low Life Club imprint in late May, welcoming fast-rising talent Hadone to deliver his five-track EP ‘They Will Come’ whilst also remixing the title cut.

Berlin born producer and DJ Mørbeck has been involved in the city’s rich techno scene for over a decade, releasing music via Planet Rhythm and Vault Series plus remixes on Perc Trax and Soma. Having launched Code Is Law in 2013, featuring material from the likes of Under Black Helmet and Sawf alongside his own productions, here we see the arrival of a new project dubbed as Code Is Law’s ‘little cheeky brother’ as he welcomes Brussels based French artist Jeremy Bonnet aka Hadone to launch Low Life Club following his recent stand out ‘Defining Persuasion’ EP Taapion Records, plus further releases on Ravage and Grounded.
The up-front ‘Hatefull Peepshow’ opens proceedings with authority as Bonnet fuses hard-hitting kicks with skipping hats, warped vocals and resonant bass patterns, whilst title cut ‘They Will Come’ keeps the pace high as hypnotic synths and bright rave stabs guide the track’s frenzied yet coordinated energy. Next, ‘Wade The Revenge’ introduces soaring synth leads amongst sharp, metallic production licks and regimented drum arrangements, before label boss Mørbeck’s ‘interpretation of ‘They Will Come’ injects a slice of groove and funk as he combines bumping low ends and slick organic percussion shots.

Marreck is Michael Hann, a musician based out of Teesside and also runs the label Reject and Fade. Hann also records under the Rejections moniker, with releases on his own label as well as Opal Tapes and Tesla Tapes to name just a few. His release for Alien Jams takes a deranged journey through harsh industrial textures, creating a visceral rush through ever shifting tensions.

'I Lost My Poncho In Istanbul' presents to you a fresh selection of bomb tracks from Ecuadorian mastermind 'Nicola Cruz' and the Brazilian label 'Honcho Pigmalião'. The new release 'ILPI003' exposes new identities from both artists and a pursuit of representing some of their South American references comprised by either local indigenous expressions mixed with afro rhythms exploited in a more obscure, avant-garde and electronic intended soundscapes.

First release in a series of four compilations, which includes international artists of the slow-industrial, tribal and experimental scene.

Opening with new project 'Ricco' by label boss himself Markus Gibb and french producer Jutix aka HLM38, 'Gilbert & George' would be the perfect soundtrack of an immersive nightmare in slow motion. Distorted hats and ghosty voices from the graves surronding by detuned guitar and discreet acid cuts.

Followed by a Middle East psychedelia inspired, Pletnev's 'Thinder' fit in the perfect definition of a dusty weapon. Mystic melodies and mesmerizing bass for suave basement parties.

Turn over, Ju-Ju83 is flirting with depression and nihilism. Untimely End takes you to an obscure journey in the 80s with this new-wave-ish banger. Where drum machines hangs out with rock bass and dying voice.

'Nirvana' by lithuanian producer Roe Deers is a subby minimalist down tempo triplet drive by weird-melodic' synths.

Killing the codes, this is truly musical rollercoaster for insensible souls.

Last breath with Markus Gibb, his 'Dernier Souffle' is a shamanic ambient and subliminal Eno-ish track.

Since the early 90's, the Belgian duo Silk Saw has pioneered nearly unclassifiable electronic music at the forefront of experimental and avant-garde.

Their 12th album is a contiguous expansion of the universe created in Imaginary Landscapes, the previous album published on Kotä in 2015, blending sweet and bitter in languorous and enigmatic melodies that float on intriguing pounding polyrhythms. With the release of Nothing is Finished/Everything Starts on Sub Rosa, Marc Medea and Gabriel Séverin are back home, since their very first trial, 'Musique du garrot et de la feraille' - under their strange 'modern dada' alias, Jardin d'Usure - was released in 1994 (followed by the first two Silk Saw albums from 1996 and 1997).

Now more than ever, without compromise, the duo makes full use of complex tools like Frequency Modulation, granular and morphing synthesis. In an array of delightful to jarring surprises, a sinuous ballad will be troubled with remote blasts, or abruptly interrupted by a collapse of the base. While the tracks resonate fundamentally with a feeling of falling, failing, decay, the sleeve picture conveys that destruction is in fact where everything starts.

Bart Skils returns to Drumcode with his third solo release, 'Shadowprint'. Consisting of Bart's famous rolling drums and bass rhythms he has crafted an EP that is exceptionally functional. With each track Bart has added character by introducing vocals, interesting melodies and deep percussion to keep it interesting.

The EP is made up of 3 peak time tracks that are eloquently put together. 'My Part Of Town' is a bit deeper from Bart and contrast's well to the rest of the EP with it's melodic bass line.

Fresh off his recently released X Years in London film soundtrack, Braiden returns to both his label and the dancefloor for Off Out's 4th single and one of his most energetic releases to date.
V.O.L.A.T. is a bold, metallic juggernaut, twisting through sonic labyrinths over its ten minute duration. At once direct and amorphous, the track plays with the foreboding and the gentle, with organic and metallic sounds intertwining with imposing resolve.Hydroplane resides on the flip side of this release, a relentless jacker with juddering pitched toms working their way through chromium chords and disembodied cavernous vocals. A pacey showcase of tension and release to synergise with the perpetual motion of the dancefloor.

Mojuba sub label a.r.t.less is very pleased to welcome DJ Ion for Portal Kvest EP. Although this is his debut DJ Ion is no stranger to the scene, being active in the community of art and electronic music in Berlin in recent years and probably best known for the party series KRACH together with his friend ADLAS of Answer Code Request, this very promising talent is bringing the heat with this fresh stepping four tracker. Being emotionally inspired by 90s Techno originating in Detroit and the UK and combing these influences with undeniable captivating musical currents like Drum n Bass, IDM, Dub and Breaks is DJ Ion's trade. He is creating a unique melange of sounds that feels right at home on modern dance floors while carrying enough creative weight and relevance to keep you entertained in your living room equally. As always let the music do the talking!

Spanish DJ and producer Psyk returns to his own NON Series with 'Opal Lake'. This 40th release on the imprint and also the first release of 2020 is a stellar four track techno pack including a collaboration with fellow Spanish producer Architectural.

Opening track 'Biting Nails' sees a new studio collaboration between the two Spanish techno legends. It's a deep and emotive jam showing a surprisingly melodic side of both producers. Title track 'Opal Lakes' is the most powerful outing on the EP, fierce and driving rhythms melting into hazy atmospheres. With its crispy snares 'Bell Tair' flips the energy with an on-point minimalistic percussion workout where 'Outline' and its deep drums acidic riffs drags you below see level into a bright and lively underwater world.

Raw rocking Jitt tracks with that amazing intense bassline also used in some Direct Beat releases and Electronic Warfare. Great Electro techno! UR back in top shape.

‘Empirical Test Vol. I - VA’, our very first release, it’s finally out. Let us show you our minimalistic sonic lab. We believe in tracks for the dancefloor with an eye in experimental and introspective views of electronic music. A1. ‘Frics’ is probably the most well-known work here. Developed by Romanian talent Cojoc it has become a serious festival banger thanks to a killer bassline mixed with an aggressive synthesizer which remains a machine gun. A2. ‘Mal So Mal So’ arrives directly from Switzerland. Produced by Marques Sigi mixing spatial and analog sounds with an exquisite modular electronic sequence. The rhythm is marked by catchy kicks and swift hi hats plus some straightforward pads and effects. Classy and harmonious. B1. ‘Space Runner’ involves Angel Mosteiro and Joel Vazquez —part of Bohrium crew— premiering his first production as Akela. In this track the duo propose breaky atmospheres, rhythmic movements full of textures in a complete sequence of energetic synthesizers. The melody makes you traveling into a sonic, organic and hypnotic deepness. B2. ‘The Muggles’ by Panamanian producer Avidel proposes a playful, funny and easygoing track. Twisted basslines, fresh summer beats, nice grooves, and good vibes.

The last two years have seen me maintaining an association with an unusual bedfellow, death. The loss of Mika Vainio, as well as three members of my own family, has had a profound effect on me and spurred a lengthy reflection on life, death, and everything in between.

Parallelly, while studying the philosophy of science, I came across shadow photons:


"Tangible photons are the ones we can see or detect with instruments whereas shadow photons are intangible (invisible) detectable only indirectly through the interference effects on the tangible photons.

There is no intrinsic difference between tangible and shadow photons: each photon is tangible in one universe and intangible in all the other parallel universes.

They travel at the speed of light, bounce off mirrors, are refracted by lenses, and are stopped by opaque barriers or filters of the wrong colour. Yet, they do not trigger even the most sensitive detectors. The only thing in the universe that a shadow photon can be observed to affect is the tangible photon that it accompanies. This is the phenomenon of interference.

Shadow photons would go entirely unnoticed, were it not for this phenomenon and the strange pattern of shadows by which we observe it.

Thus the existence of a seething, prodigiously complicated hidden world of shadow photons has been inferred."*


I have drawn a parallel between shadow photons and death. The interference phenomena, parallel universes, and how shadow photons affect tangible photons they accompany, offer, in my opinion, similarities, an unknown universe which is death and how we, remaining tangible human beings, are affected. This quest has led me to be more willing to accept chaos in my life and to conclude that Death is perfection, everything else is relative.

Bloody oldschool Hardcore !

Sludge machine music slapped through the infinite mixing desk by SRS - the combined mind of Sunun and Robin Stewart. At any pointData Fossil'sgiddy industrial riddims could collapse under their own weight. There are Sunun inputs and there are Robin Stewart inputs - but everything is offered up to their machines gladly for an output of nu-human-beat. Voices drift through the mix in hushed Italian and Robin's gruff roboticized drawl, floating dub chords left hanging for cavernous subs and rattled bones, distant harps and arps, a sudden blast of trills. 'Spit Fossil' itself is a clipped noise-pop wonder - the aural equivalent of a lights-on Avon dancefloor with only the weirdest left standing.



Recorded on the rooftop of a housing project called Camelot in 2018, the two Bristol locals debuted the live / unplanned collaboration in an inflatable arena called 'Toldo' in the Brunswick Club ballroom (RIP). Then again at Young Echo at the Cube Microplex - a night where it's said anything is possible (Sunun even dubbed Guest's live human heartbeat there recently….). IfData Fossilis hard to describe - it's just the sound of the musical freedom of a city that will never run dry.



It's a high Bokeh honour to welcome Sunun back after we helped release her 2018 debut,Ooid EP. Her live show continues to be the most inspiring re-use of dub principles we've witnessed (again and again). Time only grows her music outwards causing the Young Echo collective to demand she join them. SinceOoid,she's released a 12" of MPC wonders with close Bristol pals Cold Light.


Recently bearing his dub-side to all that didn't know on Trilogy Tapes'Time Travel EP, Robin Stewart is half of world conquering techno-cult Giant Swan. Also a veteran of Rwdfwd stable of imprints (Fuckpunk and NoCorner) - his music DNA is equal parts shoegaze and steppas. In 2020 he was officially recognised for having the largest collection of Bokeh t shirts.

Tammo Hesselink returns to Nous'klaer with a solo four tracker, further refining his sound from last year's summer sampler.

"I’m extremely proud to present my new album “The Underground Tree” the first for over 10 years is out on 23rd May !

The title comes from a line in “Reserve the Right” – “We are family, I’ve got my possee and me, we’re fruit from the underground tree” the last track on the album, a rambling rap covering many subjects from climate change to data collection all written under the influence of a heavy hangover, where I foolishly decided it would be a good idea to get back on the mic. A previously unreleased set of ’87-’93 bleep techno, trance, ambient, noise and breakbeats by synf boffin Dave Burraston’s cult NYZ project - recommended for followers of early AFX, Autechre/Lego Feet, FSOL/Humanoid, Mappa Mundi - newly minted on The Death Of Rave.

Following his mind-bending ’SHFTR FRQ’ LP for The Death of Rave in 2018, the award-winning, UK-born and Aussie-based artist/scientist excavates his HD from a golden era when synf and computer music boffins were building the future in bedroom studios, using then early versions of Cubase and Amiga software to establish the templates for decades of rave and electronic dance music to come. However, like a rare, mutant dinosaur skeleton that doesn’t fit historic models, NYZ’s unarchiving of ‘OLD TRX 87-93’ offers a complex and unusually chaotic range of ideas for this era - from meditation tape-sampling downbeats to nutty proto-speed garage and animated noise - that plays out like a comic book or pulpy sci-fi narrative and smartly showcases the breadth of Dave’s prized imagination and technical nous.

In 11 parts arranged for a properly immersive listen, ‘OLD TRX 87-93’ wends from squashed ‘80s cyberpunk sci-fi in ‘damage’ to the hypnagogic swag of ‘self_hypnotic_tapez’ via a spectrum of mutant dance floor and avant oddities alongside a bezerker breakbeat razz in ‘patheticsocialmisfits’ and what sounds like proto-speed garage in the warped bass of ‘flatline’. But he never uses the same drum pattern twice, and thanks to the inclusion of wildcards such as the scorching noise piece ‘JP4_PhonosonicsRM_DRN’ and the sleazy proto-trance of ‘CEZbulgan’, the sequencing ideally lends itself to jacked-in headphone mooches as much as domestic and raving use.

The results are surely comparable to the haunting early rave and ambient sound of AFX’s ‘SAW 85-92’ as much as the freaky ideas found on Brian Dougans’ proto-FSOL project, Humanoid ‘Sessions 84-88’, or the hardcore breakbeat ruggedness of Autechre’s Legofeet, yet all done with a trippy sound design and time-out-of-joint feel that’s singular to this remarkable record, and speaks to the artist’s wealth of experience; from his role as a BT trouble-shooter in the ‘70s, to his work on landscape-sized sound art installations, and his legendary ’SYROBONKERS’ interview with Richard D. James. It’s an immensely enjoyable and enigmatic album sure to spark ravenous interest with old and yung skool ravers and electronic music fiends.

Premiere on Fill-Lex Records of the Russian-Greek producer based in Seville Maxim Gkikaev aka Rise Black, in which he presents us with themes composed from 2016-2019, the first release in its volume 1, volume 2 will be published at the end of the year.
With an electro heart, these songs take us through his last years, a mixture of various types within the genre, more aggressive, or with sweetness, in sad and melodic moments or more experimental and raw, with a continuity as few know how to do. Broken bases and broken rhythms with melodies that will stay in your mind in direct trip to the brain.

Rise Black and with his other aka Oscitin has released on labels like Moustache Records, Retrowave Records, Underground Music Experience or his recent publication in Tripalium Records Corporation in his sublabel Digital Mutant Series.
Apart from his facet as an artist he combines it with editing as co-owner of labels such as UME, NYY Records and Another Perspective, and he is the host of the Electronic Wave parties in the Prisma room in Seville.

Netsh is dead, long live Netsh ! The 24 year old producer is back on Comic Sans Records and delivers a 6-tracker EP that sounds like a
true aggiornamento in his music.
The braindance inherited from Aphex Twin which we can hear in Neural Netshworks, is here replaced by something new that defines
the contours of a 2.0 upddate of his creative process.
Netsh has left aside most of his usual hardware and used different time signatures.
This renewal in his working method gave birth to Cyberbass, an energetic style in which IDM and futuristic bass music blend
to musically describe a close dystopia where humanism has given way to transhumanism.
The EP and its tracks are crossed with contrasts, the ear is often knocked out by a powerful polyrythmic before being released by
emotionally intense breaks.
It's probably Netsh's way of illustrating one of the biggest philosophical debate of our time : will technology free human kind or on the
contrary enslave him ?

With its fourth catalogue number, Steinlach returns to the vinyl format with a remix EP. On board are international friends of the label, who layed hands on Wice's originals with outstanding re- interpretations. While the A-side contains two groovy and club-oriented remixes of "Just kiddin", the trippy flipside focuses on the second outcome of the label and refers to the two pieces "Absent" and "Hertz".

The record opens with a fast-paced and jacking "Just Kiddin" version by Deep'a and Biri. The two guys from Tel Aviv re-interprate the clubby aspect of the piece, furnish it with a portion of percussions and accompany it with a volatile beat. Discharging the track with a big bang, they're leaving the listener with no chance but to move energetically to the groove patterns while cherishing the original lead melody.

Just like Deep'a and Biri, Jon Hester bets on the energy and the recognition value of the original synth line. As typical for Jon, he gives a more Chicago-style housey and bouncy touch to the composition. The lead is getting chopped, re-interpreted and re-arranged into a new groove and melody pattern, sure to inspire the floor to shake and to catapult everyone around into a frisky dancing mood. Suddenly, the well-known arpeggio of the original comes in and makes for the climax of this brilliant remix.

With side B, the club aspect of the record might not be left behind, but moved into more stripped and trippy terrains. The B1 track is fashioned as a ruthless "Absent" version, unmistakably having Refracted's writing all over it. The smallest variations of the synth line, drones, and pads, without resorting to typical drum rack aspects, find their way deep inside the listener's head, and draw them into their subtle rhythm. The unapologetic roughness of the interpretation is striking and makes it a brilliant peaktime weapon.

Rounding up the whole EP, the last remix of the record is a wonderful re-interpretation by the talented Australian that is Mosam Howieson. He ministered to Wice's personal favourite piece and crafted a loving and deep version of "Hertz", which translates the magic of the original into own words and emotions, adds a subtle groove to it, then invites to listen more carefully. One quickly dives into a hopeful world in which a certain magic seems to be present, and where everything seems to be alright. Be it as a perfect last piece after a long fulfilling evening, or as the outstanding means to make the sun rise in the morning-Mosam's interpretation sure hits the spot.

Jorden Hodgetts (aka Cleric) is back on Clergy with a powerful solo EP. Opening with the high tempo track "Angel of Death", a creative paradigm of vocals layered over rolling chords, and piercing atmospheres.

Leading into "Luddite", a track that brings another type of energy. Suited to desolate warehouse spaces, Jorden really starts to paint a picture to the 19th Clergy release.

"Acid Reflux" takes control of the B1. Distorted 303 acid lines and focused drums are paired with a subtle mystical vocal.

The final track of the EP "Pretty Poison" draws your attention towards the twisted synth stabs, while keeping momentum through the driven drums that Cleric has been know for over the years.

Puzzlebox Records Classic Electro / Techno Label Returns. Label owner Keith Tucker aka K-1 is back with his own Brand of Electro Funk with infectious bass lines and unmistakable vocals from one of the genres hardest working artist and label owners.

Over the years Tucker has done it all from visuals for live shows , label art work, dj’ing all over the world to also touring as a founding member of Aux88.

His new release is “Modular World “side A is an electro banger with Tuckers amazing arpeggiator work reminiscent of his great Optic Nerve techno alias. Modular World has a hypnotizing arp and Funky bassline that hits your soul and quickly programs your mind to
dance mode. The haunting Vocal and electronic vocoder work is unmistakable K-1 at his best. Listen to the way he combines his
voices to form his own distinct sound.

Side B. “Schematix” brings this special two track ep to A thunderous boom with a more retro bass styling that shows his programming skills, K-1 is able to manipulate his mixes to showcase his intelligent techno side with the street funk of Detroit. “Schematix” dark sci-fi drone vocals kick off the k-1 mix to get any crowd to run to the dance floor.

Alex Jann returns to Dance Trax after last year’s intense electro workout alongside Assembler Code. Here he fly’s solo showcasing his broad style of electro futurism - inspired by authentic machine funk, Jann re-imagines classic sounds for modern times. Faitiche presents Jan Jelinek’s album Tierbeoachtungen in a limited pressing on vinyl for the first time. Originally released on Scape in 2006 as a CD and download, the album’s six tracks took their cues from Jelinek’s live concerts of that period: dense, slowly unfolding loop improvisations made with a laptop, various effect pedals and miniature synthesizers. It is music that floats in a semi-conscious state between dream and awakening, always slightly mysterious, leaving traces that lead directly to the psychedelic-cosmic music of the kraut era.

In his release notes for Tierbeobachtungen at the time, the late lamented Martin Büsser wrote:

"The animal is experiencing a renaissance in music. It provides a reflective surface for our notion of the unbridled and irrational, of that Other the philosophers Deleuze/Guattari – as part of their ‘Animalisation’ – called the embodiment of artistic deliverance. And yet, how much of a liberation can art actually tolerate? To what extent can music truly throw off its fetters without descending into chaos? Jan Jelinek’s album title provides a first hint of this development: Tierbeobachtungen (animal observations) is his fourth album for ~scape, and it addresses the issue of release and liberation. Recorded almost in transit, while preparing his move to a new studio, the tracks reveal and relish in their improvisational character, and drifting, lost sound – yet they never lose sight of their underlying structure. Tierbeobachtungen might be Jelinek’s freest and most personal work, with simply arranged tracks based on four to five layered and modulated loops, while his own studio equipment provides the main sampling sources, from synthesizer and guitaret to vibraphonette. Jelinek takes on the role of observer on this record, with a level of reflection remaining audible throughout. However, this is by no means intellectual, distanced music – Jelinek leads us straight into a thicket, an acoustic jungle where sumptuous splendour meets the uncanny. A long tradition of psychedelic music pervades the recordings – Amon Düül, Cluster, My Bloody Valentine – yet whatever musical memories might vie for our attention, these are no clear-cut references, just loose associations. On occasion, one might even be tempted to take them for field recordings – gems discovered, stored and returned from their travels by ethnologists fifty or a hundred years ago. Similar to the pioneers of industrial music, like Cabaret Voltaire or Zoviet France, who experimented with field recordings to challenge Western listening habits, Tierbeobachtungen takes us to new, unknown territories and brims with sounds that defy geographic or stylistic classification, not unlike the semi-conscious state between dream and awakening. Tresor Records is pleased to welcome Minimal Violence to the label, starting with the first chapter in a series of three records entitled DESTROY ---> physical REALITY psychic <--- TRUST to be released during the next 12 months. At the furthest edges of their idiosyncratic brand of ferocious hardware techno, this first EP, Phase One, reveals the Vancouver duo to be expertly out on a limb. Mirroring the explosive cut and thrust of their live sets, their recorded output extends a metaphysical rave.
Throughout, Ash Luk and Lida P cut their cinematic melodies into a clattering rave hole, unceasingly revising the gravitational pull in each direction. Ravebomb finds a route of no-nonsense with its unhinged endorphin rush of surging EBM style bass and rough-handed rhythms. It is followed up by an alternate version of Ravebomb, the Fire Mix, which casts its elements into a heady psychoactive cloud on a collision course with its kick drum.
Glimpses of a rhythmic waywardness coat Perfect Rendition, full of tape tics and wobble, with a push to 90s UK, beat experimentations and the pull of arching hookworms.
Closing out the EP is The Next Screen Is Death, with a dystopian 80s wave sound, where short snippets of sampled mush imbue disturbed synth stabs, while arpeggiated basses drive with momentum a feverous descent in tandem with trance-echoing melodies.

After a busy Summer on the road, South London's Silverlining returns to his home-grown imprint for the tenth release on his cult series.
The EP opens with his sublime 2019 remix of Arctor and Jay Hill, previously unrleased on vinyl.
On the flip are two reissues: the first of his 1998 remix of Ravi McArthur from Reverberations; and a Detroit-inspired electro track written at the tender age of 19 back in 1995 under his early Spook in the House guise.

Digital Rain Systems hail from Winnipeg and their music presents a perfect halfway point between the lounged-out house of Vancouver and the more ethereal beats bubbling up from Montreal. The project started as a way for Cole Woods and Jory Hasselmann, both members of the band Human Music, to explore their budding love for house, techno and ambient music. The result—simply titled "Vol 1."— sounds like a duo discovering decades' worth of electronic music all at once. They list Larry Heard, 808 State and Windham Hill Records as influences for a sound that skirts the edges of classic techno, dusty house, dub, electro and New Age music. Those might be standard influences these days, but Digital Rain Systems put them together in a far from standard way. Woods and Hasselmann’s recording techniques stay true to their live music roots: recorded off-the-cuff in a single take straight to tape from a BOSS mixer. The songs are built around samples and fastened to heavy, bucking basslines and twinkly chords that come from their modest collection of hardware. It's a rough-and-tumble sound that recalls the early work by Canadian acts like D. Tiffany and Aquarian Foundation but is very much their own. Take the plunge on this adventurous spread of audio. You’ll be glad you did

The label has the honor to welcome in its ranks the one who could be compared to a centurion, the greatest in charge in the Roman Army. With more than a decade of experience behind him and which has dictated the aesthetic canons of a genre, Lykos Records presents Ness and his EP "Memento".

In this sonic adventure Ness delves into the most hidden and dark ravines of memory. In a succession of allegorical scenes, dystopian premonitions and powerful evocative sounds "Memento", focuses his attention on memory and how much it is fundamental, both as a psychic function of assimilation, as well as for processing data in order to learning.

The EP opens with the track that gives the name to the work "Memento", which immediately wraps the listener with the deep bass sound and through a wise use of the pads and synths kidnaps his mind. When body and mind have reached the perfect union, "Bionic Harp" comes into, breaking these balances, with the body undergoes through a pressing groove and the psyche intent on the perception of a harp melody, which echoing far away like a vague foggy memory.

The B-side begins with a Utopian and almost catastrophic vision that "System Failure" paints, through scratching and repetitive sounds, alarming and catapulting the listener into a dark and distressful nightmare. To conclude and restore calm in this comings and goings of dreams and memories, Deepbass's adaptation of "Bionic Harp", which highlights the dreamlike atmospheres, creating a sound landscape rich of air and light.

Birmingham, UK’s sprawl of low rise warehouses and their links to the military-industrial complex inspires this crushing new take on the “Brummie” sound and spirit from former native Arash Moori for his longtime pals at Type In nine harsh and disorienting bouts of angular drums and hazardous noise texture, ‘Exothermic’ doubles down on the tonal and rhythmic brutalism of Moori’s debut for Type, ‘Heterodyne’ (2015). It forms a deep topographical reading of his home region’s maze of 1-storey munitions workshops, flyovers, canals, and spaghetti road systems, all intersected by the ghosts of Jungle pirate radio and lit up by hotspots of nostalgic reminiscence; places where he studied, walked thru, DJed atand protested with long-time friend and Type label co-owner, John Twells. Moreover ‘Exothermic’ is concerned with how this environment and the city’s progressive past affects the mood and music of its contemporary population, and how it ultimately came to inform the visceral nature of the “Brummie Sound”.
Working to a fierce, noisy aesthetic that’s been firmly expressed in hard-bitten Brummie and midlander music by everyone from Black Sabbath to Scorn, and even Coventry’s Delia Derbyshire, who acknowledged the infamous Luftwaffe blitz on her home city as a formative sonic experience, ‘Exothermic’ explodes with a tightly coiled, abstract-industrial energy that’s surely worthy of comparison with any of them. In fits and bursts, rhythms inspired by the city’s pirate radio jungle heritage clash with sheets of metallic calamity; sawn-off percussion ricochets the space like shrapnel searching for a target; and structures are torched like Raymond Mason’s municipal artwork ‘Forward’ which went up in flames during the city’s 2003 demonstrations against the Iraq war. It’s all intended to mirror a negative feedback loop of intensity between the place and its people, and does so with a mix of bostin’ glee and dark humour familiar to the region.

High Mobility Weapons Unit heads to an unmarked munitions stockpile to re-equip and upgrade on the imprint's fifth release. The EP's A-side delivers two cuts with looped synths that revolve around foundational drum patterns. On the reverse, the tempo shifts up to 140bpm with locked-in synth layers and spacey bleeps. New release by one of Berlin’s most unique and long standing producers. Patrick Stottrop’s activities are at the heart and foundation of Berlin’s Techno sound, active since 1996 and founder of Zhark Recordings, he’s been pushing and challenging the definition of dance music since it’s inception.
On this release we find the title track “Legeia” as well as the tracks “Die Erwartung” and “Richmond”, taken from The Garden of Time LP recoding session from 2019. These 3 tracks set the prevailing mood for 2 subsequent cuts, “Horus” and “Sorcerer”. While Richmond follows a more andante direction “Legeia” presents a unique combination of drones engulfed in a wild & hectic Technoid percussive Inferno. “Die Erwartung” on the other hand might resemble in its overall mood the Rheingold Prelude (in a higher register) with its drone like strings layer build up. wHILE “Horus” and “Sorcere” are recent tracks form KAREEMs current live set and were recently arranged to fit into the EP format. Both tracks build on static percussive hostility and climax towards their middle parts to an overall acoustic orgy of reverberating string strikes and high-pitched drone oscillations. An over all grand addition to his continuously growing and ecstatic catalog.

The name of the Ep "Landing on Mars" is program. Perfectly produced deep space electro with bubbling 808 beats and basslines. Start your engine of your spacecraft and follow the message of Galaxy87. Original soft boy Larry shoots out lemon water on SH006 and welcomes a side of Cocktail Party Effect remix gobble. The Kauz EP sounds rushed but some sonic aesthetics have been considered. Particularly where 'bleak' and 'digital' are married with 'uplifting' and 'personal' themes. All considered, swinging fists and other beaters are present in the form of drums that help take the edge off. Cocktail's Party Effect doesn't hurt too much until you stick it up really loud but don't lose yourself - you are just another human after all.

Inspired by Gibson's 'Neuromancer', Patrick Holland dives deep into the ambivalent future with Simstim. Also known for work as Project Pablo, Simstim uses familiar motifs with a more personalized touch. Pointillist melodies lay in a wash of noise artifacts, as pulsating rhythms fray subtly falling between sections, all delicately glued together with blissful harmonies. For the dancer and/or headphone listener alike.
