Food Music is massively privileged to officially bring you Xpansions “Move Your Body”, as the next instalment of Shadow Child’s ‘Curated by’ series.

With all manner of DJs reaching for the original 1990 hit still to this day, we’ve remastered it exclusively to vinyl and brought you fully official reworks from today’s elite.

Using original salvaged parts from the Xpansions vaults, we have remixes from Krystal Klear, Rebūke, and Loods who all bring a fresh take as we enter summer 2019.

Krystal Klear heads up the mix package, taking us into electronic bliss with his sublimely fresh synth stabs and a huge breakdown that will tease all your senses.

Rebūke’s massive techno twister is set for the big rooms too, with a new riff following the bassline melody, trippy vocal production, rolling percussion and his trademark crescendo’s.

Finally, Loods takes us on a retro house tip with pulsating hi-hats and a new take on the melody with bumping bassline’s and energy.

Tamango Records' fifth release delivers a pure Italian-heat collaboration between label boss Yaya and Alex Ground (Desolat / Kina Music). The fellow Turin based producers and longtime friends Yaya and Alex join forces for 'Rough Side', a 4 tracker EP enriched by a remix from Inkal honcho Ben Rau.

The opening track is called 'Rough Side' and has been a stable weapon in Yaya's sets since its first appearance at the Desolat boat party during WMC in Miami last year. As the title suggests, it's a peak-time roller with a shaking bassline that flows under rattling hits and toms. Some old tape vocals and drum fill find their place into the break, just before an unexpected 'party-starting' old school synth marks this track as one of the summer anthems to get any dance floor moving.

Remix duties are handled to Fuse London regular Ben Rau who has recently launched his own 'Inkal' and sister-label 'Meta', storming the charts release after release.

The B side kicks off with 'You Know The Unknown' where the boys go deeper and deeper, creating a majestic tech house groove with sharp and rubbery hi-hats, raw percussions and fluttering snares all rolling into one. The result is an intense and introspective trip full of light pads and dense synths, all together for another club gem.

Closing the EP is 'Night Wings', seven deep and warm minutes of the finest house music. Again, the title itself perfectly describes the track, where subtle and spaced synths and shuffling drums turn this one into a hypnotic warm-up mood.

A strong new addition to both artists’ oeuvres, the 2nd Aasthma 12” follows the same formula as
the first, and again finding a smart balance of immediate rawness and classy sound design, but
this time slightly altering the parameters to more reckless and experimental appeal.
The smoky ambient blush of ’Rotating Blue Device’ unfurls a fine mesh of gauzy mid-ground and
prickly surface disturbances to bend the mind’s eye and presumably sound steeply psychedelic
in altered states, which finely sets the tone for ‘Los Angeles’, where they spar with thorny techno
drums and surges of bass voltage in a roving, undulating, crisp but distorted mass that will swill
the club out something rotten.

Neil Landstrumm is a legendary producer whose influence within the techno scene cannot be understated. He's had many, many releases over the years on the world's best labels including Sativae, Don't, Peacefrog and his own Scandinavia imprint. He's also accredited with remix duties on our 7th release by The Horrorist.

There's two original tracks on this release, one remix by JoeFarr and another by Sunil Sharpe, all are bona fide club stompers.

This release sees him returning to his electronic roots with 'I Want No More Moaning' being crafted on his trusty Roland TR-909 and a Jupiter synth just like in the good old days, something he's not done for a very long time. So this one's something special altogether.

"Mannequin Records and Platform 23 come together to start a series of stand-alone reissues of the music of post-punk / industrialists Bourbonese Qualk, starting with their 1983 album Laughing Afternoon. Formed in Southport during the late-70s, the band came to prominence out of South London's squat scene via their own Recloose Organisation. Early releases including the band's first experiments put to tape and the now highly sought after Sudden Departure compilation featuring luminaries Colin Potter, Eg Oblique Graph (Bryan Jones) and Lol Coxhill, laid the foundations of their burgeoning sound.
Recorded and produced at the Recloose Studios in Camberwell in 1983, Simon Crab, Julian Gilbert and Steven Tanza infused their music with politically charged atmospherics, instrumental exploration, heavily laden reverb and dub, all projected by drum machine rhythms to assemble a musical collage which encapsulated strands beyond contemporary music.
Track titles decipher little, as with the music, a discourse not belonging to a set style or movement, but crossing boundaries of supposition, pushing distortion and outernational leanings towards something else, a primordial discant. While tape loops warp the ears and spoken vocals propel songs like Blood Orange Bargain Day and To Hell With The Consequences and contrasting guitar acoustics pierce the mood on Qualk Street and Spanner In The Works, the overall embrace is claustrophobic, embedding a foreboding for the times. This unique, indulgent, cross genre melting pot where pounding rhythms, wailing trumpets, mournful melodica and electronic pulses all spiral in a contagious dissonance that heralded Bourbonese Qualk to the wider world.

Alex Jann returns to Censor for the label’s second excursion into the unknown with three direct communications and a mix of the title track from Rotterdam’s Animistic Beliefs.

The EP’s title track Computoid.Transmission.X is a pulsating drum workout laced with dystopian pads, laser-cut leads, anxious bass lines and an evocative mutant vocal from an A.I. system gaining consciousness.

Animistic Beliefs create a darker texture in their Electric Eye Mix of the title track, sending the vocal and lead sound straight through the stratosphere via complex bass and arp phrases that filter and stalk around the lead bringing a deeper and more contrasting A2.

Firewall Culture comes as an intoxicating trip on the B1 with off-world FX, feral acid lines and a spacetime-defying style of vocal that haunt Alex’s work.

Jupiter Storms on the B2 ascends the EP to a higher plane with deep washes created from evolving pads adding space and movement to the final track of the release, all accented with glacial micro drops, syncopated beats and tight trickling synth sections. The release was mastered by Keith Tenniswood at Curve Pusher.

Spatial Cues releases split singles and solo EPs that sound out main(void)’s and Kon Janson’s shared musical space. Operating out of Berlin and London, the two artists join forces to showcase their mutual vision of techno music.

CUES005 aligns itself with the deep and hypnotic side of the series by inserting repetitive themes into flowing soundscapes and subtly shifting rhythms.

Spiralling deeper and deeper into a slowly evolving vortex of sound, CUES005 A emits gleaming signals into the expansive space emanating from its mesmerising bass line.

Held together by the gravitational pull of its sub-heavy kick drum, CUES005 B’s swirling drums orbit around a minimalistic synth pattern that echoes back in bleepy accents.

We're delighted to share this record from the Moscow-based recording artist OL aka Oleg Buyanov. His most recent work, the double LP "Height Difference" on the seminal Gost Zvuk label, saw him transmit his research in soviet sound heritage into a range of genres and tempos. On "Dismeteo", we see him inhabit a similar atmosphere, refracted through a different lens of influence. In Buyanov's own words, "The tracks are like concrete blocks & buildings lost in the woods. It's a point where correct geometry and mathematical constructions meet with organic forms.

In the year 2001, David Carretta released his fantastic Domination EP on DJ Hell's label International Deejay Gigolo. Vicious Game was a huge success for Carretta and Gigolo. 17 years later we release the track with a new Interpretation from Carretta. The track is coming with a strong remix pack. Mark Broom better known with releases on his own label Beard Man and releases on Robert Hood's M-Plant, Blueprint, Ostgut Ton (to name a few) is coming with two smashing remixes. The second mix from him is coming out as digital only. As a part of the duo Unsubscribe with Dave Clarke, the dutch producer Mr. Jones delivered us a strong Industrial Techno Mix for the peak time Set's. Last remixer on the record is GND Label Head S-File. He remixed a year ago Carretta's Hit Never Control and have a huge Floor Filler record in 2017 with Shelter and Nu Life. That release is after the huge success of Never Control and Machines Invasion, a big highlight in the GND catalog. We hope that you are as much excited as we are about this new Carretta record!

Two well crafted space adventures from two long time collaborators.

American producer FBK returns to Rekids with his debut album entitled 'More
Stories From The Future'.

Long-term house and techno heavyweight, Kevin M. Kennedy aka FBK has a
career spanning three decades. Debuting with a seminal release on Frictional in
'97, Kennedy went on to appear on labels like diametric. and Urban Kickz, whilst
more recent releases have landed on Barba Records, Suspected (alongside Paul
Mac) and Rekids - kick-starting the label's Special Projects series. With a close
bond to Detroit greats like Anthony 'Shake' Shakir, Daniel Bell, Claude Young,
Keith Tucker and Sherard Ingram (DJ Stingray), FBK is considered a true
contemporary. Returning to Rekids for his inaugural long player, 'More Stories
From The Future' demonstrates his versatility within the studio and mirrors his
genre-bending approach to performing, both as a DJ and live act.

'Modular Life' brings deep resonating lows, liquid pads and clinical percussion,
before the psychedelic vocals of 'I'll Sit Back, You'll Jack' join smashing snares
and intensifying synths. Exhibiting erratic sound design, 'Layers of Fear' comes
complete with pumping drums and intense hi-hats, until 'Hassling' offers a
stepping groove, thick pad stabs and deep sub movement. 'Headless' gets
modular heavy with bubbling effects and shuffling rhythm, preceding the driving
kicks of 'Gate Closing' where ghostly vocals meet enveloping acid growls. 'The
Boxing Lesson' delivers punchy kicks and steppy snares under lofty atmospherics,
ending on 'The Finisher's Heart' where evolving detuned synths flow over powerful
percussion.

ara is a new record label curated by David Letellier, a.k.a Kangding Ray. ara is a platform for recording artists with unique sonic identities that seeks to induce deep emotion through sound ; focusing on singular artistic endeavours, created with patience and dedication. While rooted in electronic club music, ara will not follow any prescribed sonic path : it will explore a palette of diverse sound worlds who evolve through parallel series of curated releases. Each series will represent either a concept or a particular musical direction, which will be mirrored by its own design approach. Since releasing physical records is increasingly becoming an irrational choice, each record will be irrationally produced as an hand-made work of art, involving procedures and techniques such as manually-applied ink, brushed acrylic paint or tape. Each edition will be individually numbered, recognisable as a part of a whole, while being slightly different by nature. The first release, by label curator Kangding Ray, will be the first step of this journey : organic, emotional club music, for the body and mind.

“Le Lisse et le Strié is a new work by french composer François J. Bonnet, released under his project name Kassel Jaeger. Based in Paris, Bonnet is the Director of INA GRM. He is also a writer and theoretician (The Order of Sounds, a sonorous Archipelago and The Infra-World have been published in english by Urbanomic). As a musician, Bonnet has been collaborating with artists such as Stephen O’Malley, Oren Ambarchi or Jim O’Rourke and most of his recent work has been published by Editions Mego.

Le Lisse et le Strié has been conceived as an exploration of the two antagonist concepts of “smooth” and “striated”, applied to the realm of electroacoustic sounds. If the “smooth” is linked to “nomos” as an open space of organic distribution, the “striated”, on the contrary, is associated to “logos”, as an enclosed space defined by a grid.

Elaborating a dialogue between these aspects, Kassel Jaeger draws here an intermediary space where pulsations become textures and layers, and where rhythmic elements are found in the qualities and bodies of sounds instead of being functionnalised, pre-determined sound objects, abstracted and frozen onto a temporal grid. The concept of “striated” is made audible only through the sonic landscape it inhabits, like the stripes of the camouflage fur of wild animals only exist as such in the woods and long grass, disappearing into a potentially uselessness in a desert plain.”

Label boss Michael McLardy joins forces with Newcastle based Moonlit Vision (What's Nxt/Tough Luck) to present 14 minutes of blissed out house on the A side of their collaborative 'Third Mind EP'. An ideal soundtrack to end the Summer months.

The B side sees the duo provide a remix of Michael's original track 'Pilot', delivered in their trademark sound. Released on vinyl only.

On their debut album as DOVS, Tin Man and AAAA summon the ethereal spirit of acid. Tin Man, AKA Johannes Auvinen, has been studying the emotional potential of the Roland TB-303 for 15 years now, and AAAA (Gabo Barranco), a fixture of the Mexico City underground, might as well be his acolyte. While the coincidental similarities of their studio and live approaches make this collaboration feel natural, even expected, Silent Cities is anything but. We recognize most of the elements here—the ubiquitous acid box and hardware drum machines—yet Auvinen and Barranco arrive in new, mysterious territory this time out. Lush arpeggiation, breakbeats and atmosphere imbue tracks like 'Nostalgic Oblivion' with a widescreen grandeur. 'Rene Figures' recalls Specific Momentific-era Cristian Vogel, symphonic, melodic techno with a kick heavy enough for dark, cavernous rooms. Meanwhile, beatless cuts like 'Whining Acid' are as intricately crafted as Tin Man's well-loved classical work (Vienna Blues). But as a duo, they craft a virtuosic harmonic narrative almost solely with 303s. Tin Man and Donato Dozzy's 'Nonneo' was the first release on Acid Test, setting the tone for the label and unlocking new potential for the genre. DOVS' closer on Silent Cities, 'Diazepam Blues', is the label's new melancholic acid anthem and a statement of purpose for Tin Man and AAAA, two hardware masters who have created an album of remarkable emotional depth.

Seasick Acid is an aquatic addition to the Gunnar Haslam multiverse, a twisting realm of mirrored realities and fully realized continents with their own submarine logic systems. We asked Gunnar Haslam about the story behind this EP, his third release on The Bunker NY, confirming that he has not been recently seasick but did grow up by the ocean spending plenty of time on boats as a young man. Seasickness thus established as a part of Haslam’s personal history, he went on to explain “the best nights out hearing music are the rocky ones, not the smooth voyages” flashing to the experience of a very deep rave as a large ship with all hands on deck working to keep the whole thing afloat. All four tracks bring a woozy driving force to the dance floor that are sure to keep everyone bobbing along disorientedly.

Cutting the ribbon, we invite German luminary Mick Wills. Active over 3 decades, a perennial influence and looming figure across the wave and techno scenes.
Wills refashions 3 of his favourites, giving them the trademark ‘Cut’ treatment for tender floors worldwide.

The first track sees a crucially overlooked Baby Red Torres number 7” fully expanded to 5 am percussive meltdown business.

Next up synth-botherer Paul Nagle sees his early tape emission‘The Mesomeric Effect’ re-cut by cool hand Mick, coming in hot & throbbing in all the right ways.

Closing on a dramatic note, Kehrschliefe’s Leonid Brezhnev (previously on Polytechnic Youth) is opened up, ripped apart and smartly re-dressed, oozing class and menace.

The Kioku EP is Wata Igarashi’s third release on The Bunker New York, showcasing considerable emotional range that speaks to his long career as a sound designer. All four tracks feature a cinematic, expansive quality that make it easy to imagine how each could fit specific moments across the arc of a party. Different aspects of the music are carefully balanced and combined: seemingly simple patterns in the foreground are animated by precise intensities at play in the background.

We encourage you to give this one a listen on a proper sound system or headphones to fully dive into the intricacies of Igarashi’s sound design. “Reflecting on his feelings about these tracks, Igarashi tells us that, “there are many times when you’re listening to powerful music and you are not really able to think but your body still remembers how to move and breathe”. Kioku means “memory” in Japanese and Igarashi goes on to explain that “all the fast and complex melody combinations (of the title track) make me imagine how our memory functions: connecting via synapse and nerves, going all over the place...the music comes from my experience and memory.” The complexity and beauty of our thoughts and bodies are mirrored in these fine productions that make up the Kioku EP.

Marvellous synth rhythms are the key-player on ZEIT008, Roman Debnar’s Dark Matter EP.

Stefan Smith has channeled an elevated reverence for process, texture and synth-extrapolation with the forthcoming release of his self-titled LP on the Sapiens imprint. A relative new-comer to the land of rapid fire releases and dance floor formulae, Smith is deeply steeped in the art of music creation, performance and theory.
As a graduate of Mills College's revered music department, Smith's prosaic understanding of music partially explains his migration to Sapiens, a label headquartered in Paris, France, which, under the direction of techno luminary, Agoria, has been expanding the realm of possibility for what a techno label can become. Collaborating with musicians, visual artists, film directors, shamans and sound designers, the young Sapiens platform releases may include political speeches, radio hits, dance floor tunes, sensorial or cognitive music or a gentle computer
virus'. Smith's LP contribution will definitely fall on the more delicious end of this spectrum, having woven a synth-lovers dream tapestry.

The nine tracks composing the album, Stefan Smith', draw the listener in on a river of oscillators, which push just past the banks of perceptible sound with with flawless production and loving sound treatment. The idea behind the album is very raw and organic. Stefan Smith focuses on atmosphere, mood, tones, and frequencies, rather than melodies. His productions are a response to the subliminal, and about feeling.
This album came together from a natural flow of working with computers and synthesisers, and also from the musical connection fostered Sebastien Devaud (Agoria). His approach to the album's production was to edit as little as possible, keeping the original feeling of chance and temporality intact. We can sense here Smith's intuition as sound designer, a role which has enabled him to work with artist Nicolas Becker and through this association further contribute work to the Philippe Parreno 'Anywhen' exhibition in Tate Modern Turbine Hall. The feedback
generated by studio experimentation gives birth to new ideas for aural shapes and textures. If one were only to lie back and identify the various wave forms, like butterflies and birds flittering through dappled sunlight, in each track's canopy of bountiful synth elements the mind's eye would dance with the steady intervals of Smith's real-time probe of his machinery, however, deep tracts of emotion and effortless grooves won't allow for a purely sensory listen. In the spirit of exploration, enjoy the ride.

There is something singularly unique and peculiar in the degree to which seemingly unsettling themes and extreme taboos have been explored, most notably in the medium of film, in the land of Nippon. Free from the constraints of reality, notions of grotesque brutality, torture, fetishism, and sadomasochism, to name a few, have oftentimes served as driving motifs in the examination of the true nature of violence latent in the most repressed reaches of the human mind. Concurrently, in the realm of electronic music, many Japanese producers have often been able to cultivate and harness a daring yet distinctly refined and inimitable form of organized sonic chaos, one almost instantly recognizable to the occidental ear. The music of Tomohiko Sagae, and in particular his latest contribution to Furanum's catalogue, The Spurt of Blood, is perhaps a quintessential example of the confluence of the former themes and latter medium.
At the outset of the record, the beholder is faced with the 'Vacant Eyes' of a staggering monstrosity, a subdued and subjugated automata in the midst of a bleak dystopia, nearly lifeless but for the grudgingly conceded advance of its death march. As a battery of gratuitous aural violence led by a dominant synth is rapidly unleashed in the subsequent composition, a growing malaise transforms into fractured bone and psyche alike, with no distinction made anymore between the tearing of metal, flesh, or the fabric of the mind. Culminating in 'Severe Pain', with limits of endurance breached and descent into madness the only seeming form of respite, relentlessly rolling drums and hauntingly sublime howls provide the context for the dawning realization of pain as a virtue in and of itself, when a demented pleasure and the exhilarative liberation that lies therein begins to emerge. In the final act, reinterpreted by Furanum stalwarts Uncto, roles are tellingly reversed as the vacant eyes of the victim become that of the oppressor. With cold-blooded precision, the original is reengineered into a force of merciless domination, its elements machined and recalibrated for pure power.Words: PSD

Fabio & Grooverider have been at the forefront of UK dance music for over 3 decades. This is the roots of their story told through music.

The 2 London DJ's are part of the DNA of the global Jungle / D&B movement and they have remained relevant, cutting edge, authoritative and essential to this truly underground art-form since it's inception. RAGE could arguably be the ground zero of Jungle. The party was started at London's cavernous Heaven club by Fabio & Grooverider in 1988, at the height of Acid House fever that was making it's way up and down the motorways, slip-roads, fields and warehouses of the M25 and further beyond every weekend, troubling the nation, the police, your parents and the press as it went. RAGE was a different beast, it certainly channelled some of that Acid energy but pitted it against the new and exciting sounds emanating from Belgium, Amsterdam, Detroit, Sheffield, Essex and Hackney and in turn created a new style, a new sonic attitude and energy in the process. Rumbling bass-lines, narcotic synth rushes and roughly chopped and sped-up breakbeats all merged into a style that we now know as Jungle. Nothing like this had been heard before, this was a brand new style and it was coming out of London's West End and Fabio & Grooverider were the people firmly behind it.

RAGE is approaching its 30th anniversary. Its sonic and cultural legacy is still being felt today, Fabio & Groove are still shutting down raves and festivals every weekend all over the world with their superior DJ sets and musical knowledge guided by their pioneering spirit. Pedro Zopelar and Benjamim Sallum started jamming and performing live sets in São Paulo in 2016, when Ben was only 15 years old. At that time they where doing freaky improvised live perfomances in tribute to a popular youtube video called “My Girlfriend Is Programming The Roland TR-909, Making a House Beat”. Using that huge name the duo performed live before Theo Parrish at the RBMA festival in São Paulo 2017, and was the first that the track GIDI was played. In 2018 “My Girlfriend” releases their first record dropped by Subsubtropics, (a Brazilian label that previously released “Dreams”, “Design a Wave”, “Seixlack & Zopelar” and more).

The Apron EP is a compilation of My Girlfriend’s tracks there are more influenced by a Brazilian approach on neo-soul, house and funk. From the first raw jams to these particular vision from “what is Brazilian music from nowadays”, the duo represents a fresh sample about what is happening into the club music scene there. Benjamim Sallum is resident at the famous party “Mamba Negra” headed by Cashu and Laura Diaz (Teto Preto, Carneosso), and since his 15yo developed a fast progress on the art of making tracks and DJing. He runs his own label “OXI”, where he often drops some crazy cassettes EPs from himself and his friends. Zopelar is multi instrumentist, DJ and producer based in SP, responsible for the keyboards, synths and basslines of the record. He studied piano on his youth and made music college in rio with 18 yo. Based in SP after his studies till now, he runs another well known party named “ODD”, where Funkineven played in 2017 (both Rio and Sao Paulo editions) and knew all that crew.

The opening track “piercing”brings pads and strings recorded and manipulated on a MPC sampler with some dreamy lead synths on top. GIDI is a tribute to all the church keyboard players in the world. And there is also another tribute to a specific music school from late 70’s in Brazil called club da esquina (“B2 Corner Club”), headed by legendary singer and composer “Milton nascimento”, is a typical sound from Minas Gerais, State where Pedro was born and raised till his 17 years old.

Perseus Traxx makes his Schrödinger’s Box debut with a 4-track EP of experiments forged in the depths of Northern England. Pristine plateaus and eerie sweeps cover the entire first side, a Perseus Traxx from 2090, shimmering in and out of phase within a murky acidic landscape. Introspective and thoughtful throughout. B1 surges forth with resolute intention, headed straight for the singularity. The UK’s answer to Legowelt – Timothy J Fairplay finishes off the final quarter with a summer-garden Techno banger. The HARP EP is to be released on PRAH Recordings and offers a balance of movement and feeling. ‘Banshee’ and ‘Feeler’ are both dance tracks intended for the dancefloor, whereas ‘Why Can’t I Remember Your Name’ and ‘Heart’ are two tracks meant for times of contemplation.

Inspired by the time when hardware was the only real option for making dance music, applying the same limitation and tactile approach lead to the creation of these tunes from a technical perspective. The equipment used was primarily analog and outboard, with the utilisation of tape for recording ‘Banshee’.

London via Margate composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Raven has collaborated with many well-respected artists including Kate Tempest, Paul Weller, Mica Levi, Kwes and Bullion. His music upholds a balance between the orchestral and electronic, abstract and conventional. Parallels can be drawn to the artist Arthur Russell,
in terms of their diversity, creating tracks you can dance to, but also songs and music for reflection.

All tracks are taken from the results of the second week of Raven’s PRAH residency in Margate which has seen the likes of Kelsey Lu, Adult Jazz, Ben Vince, Lone Taxidermist, James Greenwood, Deep Throat Choir, Flamingods Lung Dart & London Contemporary Orchestra. Each have spent time writing and recording in the studios
as part of a free artist residency program offered by PRAH Recordings’ arts wing the PRAH Foundation.

2015, Kenneth Werner aka AS IF has released his first vinyl release with ROHS! - MOMENTS EP. This EP is a pure retro-futuristic Acid-Downtempo vision. Initially it was released on white label 7 inch vinyl of 50 ONLY limited copies. It has been reissued in 2019 with a totally new face/design and on 250 limited copies for the world. This is a pure gold futuristic gem on wax.

Unstable Signal is a new record label focused on quality Electronic music founded by Michalis Vassiliou in early 2018. The label’s vision is to support the underground music culture, through the pressing of records, as well as pushing for quality curations at the events/concerts of the label.
In less than a year of activity it has managed to associate its name with very strong events such as the debut party at About Blank in Berlin, the follow up in Athens with Ancient Methods and the one with SHXCXCHCXSH at Temple Athens.
Also the long awaited EP of Celldöd under the name Myndighetsförakt is finaly available by the label in 12-inch vinyl and digital format.
Celldöd Is the Stockholm based producer Anders Karlsson. Anders has been active in the music scene for some time working on different musical projects, always with a strong DIY ethic.
Celldöd has built a reputation as a strong live act through gigs at Berghain, About Blank and Griessmühle in Berlin, Joy in Moscow, Femur Club in Madrid as well as live performances as far away as the Epizode festival in Vietnam.
His music has been played and supported by DJs such as Ancient Methods, Beta Evers, Alienata and The Hacker.
His EP on Unstable Signal is the debut release for the label.

ZamZam 71 is the welcome return of D-Operation Drop, the multi-man crew from Cesena, Italy with a well-earned rep that continues to grow. Everything they touch becomes a bona fide killer, from traditional steppers to 140 abstractions, to full on clash material. Last year alone saw powerful releases on Scrub A Dub, Lion Charge, Green King Cuts, and Subaltern. Their second chapter on ZamZam marks yet another high point, an absolutely storming release that won’t leave any box it makes it into.

The reverb drenched melody that opens “Bronco” throws open the gate for a brutalist kick-snare riddim with one single purpose - to absolutely crush the dance. A throbbing two note sub and swinging chains sweep aside any and all challengers, leaving pure devastation in their wake. Mesmerizing in its simplicity and absolutely devasting in its efficiency, this weapon has been deployed on dubplate from the likes of J:Kenzo & The Bug - now the beast is released to wreak havoc on Sounds far & wide.

“Coldset” is the healing salve after the bruising of the A side, equally captivating and functional in the dance, swaggering at a cooler temperature with metallic rockers hi hats in the drivers’ seat and ethereal pads hovering above another signature D-Op Drop 140 scorcher. Reminding us of the roots of this music, “Dubwise” is the refrain that echoes and trail-tangles deep down the side chain into lusciously distorted sheets of sound that will have hands in the air for multiple rewinds.

Stormur, sees Yagya continue to evolve his sound into the pure techno realm. His unique palette still identifiable, but the focus now on the swirling hypnotism, the delicate tonal progressions, whispering vocals, and the underlying current that transports you. The first Prodigal Son release features a newcomer from France, known by the name EXAL. He is a resident dj for Blocaus in Paris often held at La Machine Du Moulin Rouge. This time around, Justin again redefines absolute heaviness, but in a club format, as he gets sociopathic with his homicidal riffs and deep space explorations. Absolute malevolence, a complete body slaughter. I virtually begged Justin to let me release ‘In Your Pit’ ! haha. And i’m very happy he agreed and additionally passed me two more tracks of utter dirt”. JK Flesh has previously released music via Speedy J’s Electric Deluxe imprint, Regis Downwards label and Vatican Shadow/Prurient’s Hospital Productions. He also recently released a split album with Goth-Trad, entitled ‘Knights of the Black Table’. In 2018, PRESSURE unleashed the Bug collaboration with Burial as FLAME 1, released Miss Red’s outstanding ‘K.O.’ album, and detonated 12” club destroyers by NAZAMBA and G36. long intros, thoughtful synth pattern and increasing dynamic. Especially, the melody is a breath-taking beauty of music... definitely another anthem for the summer. David Di Sabato's Never Night On The Moon' is much more reduced in sounds compared to the other tracks of this release, which induced a
fine balance of trippy atmospherical rhythmics, raw dancefloor energy and sound design. W004LTD bridges the gap between state-of-the-art techno, melodic techno and tech house. We can't wait for playing this record.

The lifespan for humans is estimated at less then 100 years in this dimension. Due to this limitation, they seem to lack patience trying to attain their goals in this world. I’m sure that this is the case for most humans in particular, but the focus in this mission statement will be based on the Electronic Music Scene.

From the first arrival to this world and watching the current state of electronic music unfold, things seem a bit stagnant. There seems to be a drastic influx of so-called artist/ producers that are trying to influence the genre and the passive aggressive assault on what the pioneers have created. Until these souls truly study the art of music production, their track releases should be frowned upon. Their foundation should be to learn how this sound was created and how they can contribute to it moving forward.

Why not study to be a techno historian, it’ll only be a benefit. If you don’t understand the past, then there is no real future. Life-forms in this dimension need to understand the past to change the future, otherwise we’ll make the same mistakes over and over and time after time nothing will ever evolve. These words do not speak for Eqwel, however my feeling is that Eqwel has been spawned to contribute quality music to this genre for the indefnite future.

The mass understanding of Techno is the main goal for Eqwel, because if you truly understand this music, you’ll be mentally teleported to another state of mind. This audio telemetry is the answer to get lost inside the relentless nature of the low end frequencies, that is filled with percussions of high intensity. It’s been over well over a year since Eqwel has been contributing to the electronic music scene on a deeper underground level, so it’ll take some time before the earthlings are ready to be introduced to some new ideas. This society has been programmed to only like what they are told to by massive advertisements, with such vast dimensions why listen to these commercial programmers.

62ND CELL (reads sixty-second-cell) is the latest alias of UK producer Dave Campbell aka Hi-RYZE but also Ubik, Timenet, Kibu, Autonation and other sought after electronic classics from the early 1990s. Dave is enjoying a renaissance this year, releasing fresh outstanding electronic music with a new double 12” LP The Wood for the Trees on his own label YozMaz. Fusing classic techno programming with high-end production techniques, there’s a track to suit all dance floors and hi-fi home listening.

Norwegian producer Stian Gjevik returns with his third full length album as CN with The Derelict. The sequel to his 2011 concept album The Expedition Beyond (Wil-Ru Records), The Derelict unravels a new chapter in the story of a space traveller wandering the galaxy in his starship only to crash-land on a foreign planet and encounter new lifeforms. The shuffle of crisp airy high hats and punchy robotic rhythms lay down the framework for CN's signature cosmic sound. Ray Kandinski's debut for LPH, Multiverse Connection, presents itself as the soundtrack to an airborne chase scene in an imagined cyberpunk epic. Excited synth lines wiggle through dense fields of metallic drum sequences and showers of jagged, jutting robo effects. The A-side is a launch into outer space orbit, the B, a juiced-up zigzag across the stars in hyperdrive. Futuristic house built with angular electro components and scalpel-sharp acid.

So here is something we've all been waiting for... One of the most sought after releases in the house/techno scene over the last 5 years is finally getting repressed! Kutchie Dub was one of the UK techno legend first productions after the big come back he had on Sushitech. A bold dub house groover and shall we say... timeless. It's not every day that Sushitech repress their rarities but the time was right to get a small amount of records pressed, on transparent vinyl! Some records were changing hands for silly prices online so this is a second chance for the lovers... don't sleep!

Has there ever been a better time to fuck off to the stars? Is a prison breakout ‘escapism’? Crisis carve some wound-space to let the dreams back in. In nights we turn to fire, in flight we burst into stone, where are the exits in this theatre of the damned? Strict luggage allocations – guitar (D. Knight), saxophone (S. Thrower) – and all the electronics your thoughts can carry. Headspin echoes, round and around, tilt wind-sails at a dark horizon, cut a stutter through the distance barrier. In to be out through the structure of the eye, encrusted with rotor-slime, pushing on through border erosions as everything melts into smoke, burning objects may be closer than they appear. Nebulae dazzle the shadows, tunnel through memories and the pulp-mass of neurons, forwards heading backwards, end of tether snapped, slide into the earth like ancient worms and breathe.

UnicaZürn’s core instrumentation blends analogue synthesiser, mellotron and electric piano with electric guitar and saxophone. Knight is reknowned for his pioneering multi-textured fretwork with Danielle Dax and Shock-Headed Peters, and his ambient guitar settings for Lydia Lunch, while Thrower’s reed playing provided rage and melancholy in Coil and turns to electro-acoustic texture in Cyclobe.

Tribe is a record label created by like-minded artists from Barcelona, with a bold purpose of generating and sharing their idea of timeless electronic music. The debut EP Tribe01 comprises four different yet catchy and charismatic tunes that meet at the same point - the dance floor.

As you take off from the A side, you discover an audioreactive tune 'Inertia' - a creation of Baraso & Sonodab aka Barson. The track has a genuine ravy soul spiced with an acid touch and a memorable pad that will get stuck in your head.

As you continue exploring A side, you recognize the 1996 masterpiece 'Hamstrung' by Freddy Fresh aka Modulator, head of Analog Records USA. This exclusive re-edit made with Freddy's permission has a legendary groove of 90's and filtered hats that make a good party great.

Moving on to the B side, you meet a serious dance floor burner 'Chromatic Life' - a creation of Artes. The track is a travel towards the unknown depth of acid, house and techno sounds - a journey you want to make.

As you finish your sound voyage, you discover a phenomenal 'Gravitron' by a mastermind John Shima. The track breathes a melancholic tune, garnished with John's unique charisma: detroitish pads, acid elements, and a well-balanced groove that will hypnotize with its vibe.

After a gap of a few years in between his latest releases (on Terminal M among others) Mar io focuses his attention on his own productions rather than sticking to remixes. He unveils a wonderful EP on Form & Terra Records which kicks off with the title track "Through The Night", a very special acid house smasher which will put every dance floor to a test. Then comes Max Cavalerra who puts the track through some secret alchemical processing and turns it into a dark and more techno-driven tune which is sure to make mind and body move even at 6 am in the morning. In addition, techno legend Patrick Lindsey celebrates his brilliant vinyl comeback with an irresistibly grooving remix which demands your attention with unprecedented drive and gets to the heart of Mar io´s original message "This Is What We're Living For". Last but not least, Mar io himself tops off this extraordinarily versatile EP with a grooving vinyl-only remix.

Zodiak Commune Records presents the second TRIP release called Mist Of Souls. This is a serie pressed on 10 inch containing long, deep and storytelling acid tracks one on each side.

Casting the net ever wider, Kalahari Oyster Cult have drawn in new music and a new artist for their latest release. Flora FM, a.k.a. Community Corporation a.k.a. T. Hawkins, has graced imprints such as Argot and Vanity and now debuts with Chaos Light. Trying to define the style of this sound weaver is a near impossible task, the gamut of electronics has been plundered to create this unique EP. From the aquatic hypnotics of 'Hallucinogenic Worm' and the hyperactive energy of 'Chrome Glass', Flora FM borrows from acid house, rave anthems and techno with a magpie like curiosity as he melts textures and tones like a master. LFT003 is an introduction to the music that Jordon Alexander (Mall Grab) and long-time friend, housemate and sometimes-DJ-partner Alysha Fleiter (Nite Fleit) have worked on over the past year together. The product of swapping stems on tour, trains and at home, the ‘Moogie’ EP combines two individual and two collaborative tracks for the third release on the Looking For Trouble label.

After destroying dance floors worldwide, Nite Fleit’s “Hot Bot” finally sees the light of day at A1. With EBM-leaning atmospheric percussion and a huge pulsating bassline, this is a proven peak time club weapon.

Mall Grab’s “Reconnaissance” (A2) is another club-geared stomper with a throbbing bassline and breakbeat homage that operates deep within old-skool rave territory. Having made its mark as an unidentified dub in all of MG’s sets over the past year, “Reconnaissance” is now ready to be unleashed!

B1, “Anatomy of the Senses”, the collaborative debut from Nite Fleit and Mall Grab, is a promising introduction to future products of this fusion. With NF’s signature evolving and pulsing basslines/synthesis, and MG’s distinct drum programming/synth licks, this trance-acid-tekno 4/4 stomper is an unapologetic body-shaker.

Closing off the record, “Moogie” (B2) is the second official melding of the minds of NF + MG, an electronica-leaning electro number that feels as at home in headphones as it does on a packed dance floor.

Tred returns to E-Missions with four otherworldly electro cuts entitled
‘Fragments Into Nothing’ featuring a robust remix from Solid Blake.

Dropping his debut release on E-Missions just over a year ago, which received
support from the likes of Boris, Mama Snake, Volvox and Courtesy, Tred’s
continued turning heads ever since, performing both in his birthplace of Australia,
Asia as well as many of Berlin’s finest clubs, notably regular appearances at
Tresor. Kick-starting this year with a release on Australian label Doe Dee, he now
returns to P.Leone & Caiazzo’s consistently quality E-Missions imprint bringing
three twisting tracks.

‘Fragments Into Nothing’ is built on crunchy snares, soaring pads and aquatic
effects whilst ‘The Manitou’ is more raw in comparison with its thunderous kicks,
chugging low-end and sci-fi synths. Quick and intricate, ‘Disconnected’ features
an analog bassline, ethereal chords and distorted vocal murmurs, making way for
a slower, more muscular remix from Glaswegian producer Solid Blake.

Taking notes from all corners of the contemporary electronic spectrum, Aasthma distill a keening
mode of modern but classically-sculpted techno in ‘Only The Appraiser’. Ready for warehouses and
smoke-filled basements alike, the duo’s new venture puts their combined decades of dancefloor
experience to brilliantly unpredictable and disorienting effect that begs to be explored by DJs in-
the-mix.
Establishing the project’s broad coordinates, the sound design study ‘Das War’s Dann, Leute!’ is
an enigmatic palate cleanser for the main course, where ‘Only The Appraiser’ modulates from a
sleek, stepping acid techno groove recalling Function or Rrose productions, and into sweltering
psychoactive dimensions rent with disembodied stabs, before calving off into pitch black,
viscous, lysergic abstraction, leaving the path wide open for DJs to twist where their fancy and the
rave feels to go.
