Picking up from where she left off with last years successful Tools of My Purpose, E- Saggila has returned to BANK employing a more sublime and immersive electronic document. Previously leaning toward noisier and distorted rhythms, she has incorporated more sophisticated elements into writing and production. Dedicated to Sublimity is a product of growth and progression but still reflects the raw elements we've heard in her early recordings. Lush and atmospheric elements coincide with the brutality of her live sets and play off one another as a cohesive representation of the E-Saggila project.
"For the final part of SchleiBen 5 - 8, Emotional Response welcomes two Scottish based artists to close out the series. In Jon Keliehor you have a world and music traveler with history from psychedelic rock to fourth world exposure, alongside one of the best electronic producers of the last decade, Lord Of The Isles. As the drummer of West Coast folk rock / psychedelic band The Daily Flash, Keleihor spent much of the mid-60 based in and out of Seattle and Los Angles, playing alongside the likes of Jefferson Airplane, Cream and The Doors, before an increasing interest in meditation and philosophies outside of the 'rock' realm led him to England in the early 70s where he become involved in dance theatre. Teaching Advanced Rhythmic Music Studies at the London Contemporary Dance School, his music composition style became influenced by his studies of world music. Finally settling in Glasgow for over 20 years, while running the Luminous Music label and Gamelan Naga Mas, his earlier recordings for labels like Indipop, Touch and Bruton have seen a recent revival, with music appearing recently on contemporaries Optimo Music and Invisible Inc. The wonderful recordings included here span over 3 decades, from sessions at the Luminous Studio at The Diorama Theatre, London in the early 80s, through to recent field-work based recordings in the Cairngorms. Reconfigured and updated, a common thread appears through the pieces - a sense of longing and appreciation - as Jon's knowledge of outer-national instrumentation alongside equally extensive travels around the globe gives the recordings a seamless blend of organic craft. The tonal consonances within unlikely combinations of instruments, with tuned glasses (tarang), tabla, jaw harps, clay flutes and ocarinas, Chinese instruments that include Xiao-Bo and Xiao-Ping, large Noah bells, small and larges gongs all employed, the recordings have been reconstructed, edited and updated via sampling and digital processing. Featuring the playing of John "Jhalib" Millar - the extraordinarily gifted musician and tabla player - who has appeared with an EP on sister label, Emotional Rescue (ERC029), sadly recently deceased, the contribution acts as a tribute and more. To close, the music of Lord Of The Isles is an excellent companion to Jon's work. Neil McDonald's list of club-based releases on labels CockTail D'Amor, Ene, Firecracker, Permanent Vacation, ESP Institute and Phonica is comprehensive and exemplary, however within his productions has often been an other-worldly element, a space between the beats and occasional fully ambient pieces. Approached originally for series one of SchleiBen, the 7 pieces included were worth the wait, a journey in themselves and the perfect completion. Spanning almost 5 years, the majority were written during an extended exile in the Cairngorms. The lifting, ethereal, but melodic nature of the music fits that aesthetic. Blue skies, snow, long walks, space to think, but with a longing and appreciation of family and friends. The solitary nature found in SchleiBen 8 and the geographical incidence of both artist's recordings including sessions in the Scottish Highlands fits the series ideals and is a nice closure. Enjoy and listen. "
Longtime Samurai and Horo label artist Sam KDC makes his first solo appearance on the newly relaunched Horo label with Feardom - an EP that follows on perfectly from his 'Psychic Dirt' EP for Samurai Red Seal. With the track Templar' from 'Psychic Dirt' standing as one of the most important tunes of the 'Grey Area' sound as mastered by Sam and ASC, this new EP's title track 'Feardom' follows 'Templar' as a pivotal moment in the sounds development. 'Graven Image' is a subtly hypnotic take on the style, while 'Pyramid' raises the polyrhythm levels with a stepping break and 'Burning Effigy' feels like techno skewed and stretched so that it's original form hangs in jagged chunks off the edges of the rhythm.

On May 12th comes the Leisure System debut of Deapmash, a young French producer whose unreleased bangers have been tearing up dancefloors and become a not-so-secret weapon at Leisure System parties worldwide. Featuring 'Halcyon,' a ruffneck VIP of the same track, and an outstanding collaboration with Benjamin Damage, Deapmash's debut physical release is a no-nonsense introduction to one of the most exciting young techno producers around.
'Halcyon' has already been causing havoc in sets by the likes of Truss, Paula Temple, Randomer, Tessela, Boys Noize and JoeFarr, to name a few, and it's no surprise that it found a wide audience with such smashing sound design and percolating energy, with a couple of significant mood switchbacks. 'Solar 909,' a collaboration with Benjamin Damage, himself a reliable source of banging, broken and sneakily melodic beats, highlights a swirling siren-like melody, before 'Halcyon (VIP)' unleashes a final flurry of breakbeats, preferring blunt force over the surgical finesse of the original.
Deapmash began producing music only three years ago at the age of 19 - 'my musical background is pretty shit,' he says with refreshing honesty. His prior releases on Clubwerks, Soul Notes and Boys Noize Records have drawn inspiration from DJs and producers like Randomer, Clouds and Blawan, and he has collaborations in the can with JoeFarr, Aquarian, Madame, Dean Grenier and Benjamin Damage in addition to these solo productions. His mission with the Deapmash project Simply 'to provide bangers to ravers and DJs.' Safe to say that's mission accomplished.

After her well received '707 Collision' EP on Balans Records earlier this year, the Parisian DJ and producer Hemka returns on the Dutch imprint with 'Familiar' EP presenting four stomping,big-room techno cuts. The opening track 'Familiar #1' sets the tone of the EP with its fast-paced twisted rhythms, followed by yet another fierce track perfectly suited for dark warehouse raves. On the B-side 'Familiar #3' rolls forward and things get trippier while its steady cycling groove remains warm and soulful. 'Familiar #4' shuts things down in a more seductive, playful mood adding a little Detroit hypnotism into the mix with commanding yet uplifting results.

100 copies only. Comes on blue transparent vinyl. Mastered by Helmut Erler at Dubplates & Mastering, Berlin. The next releases on Eotrax will round off a busy 2018 for the label and set out an exciting proposition for a future way of working and releasing music. In what will be an ongoing, curated collaboration series artists will be invited to make work together for the label, without restrictions on genre, style or aesthetics. An open environment of collaboration and experimentation which will then be released by the label. To launch this series label head Eomac teams up with four different artists over four slabs of vinyl, to be released sequentially over four months. The collaborations are improvised and composed, wild and emotive, unexpected and expected and all of them resulting in music that would never have been made by either artist individually.First up is a two-tracker from techno powerhouse and self confessed 'noisician' Paula Temple and Eomac. On the A-side the synth heavy 'Gestirn' takes inspiration from Autechre's classic 'Eutow', driving forward with a broken beat while celestial melodic lines reach skyward to unknown realms. The B-side introduces a wilder beast, with the ferocious, pummeling techno of 'Kralle'. Further collaborations in this first series will come from multi-instrumentalist Seán Carpio, Motus Records boss Demian Licht and sonic renegade Kamikaze Space Program.

After a triumphant return to Batu's Timedance label with 'Intrigued By The Drum' Ploy keeps the pressure high on his new EP for Hemlock.
Unruly exposes further light on the workings of his now signature style. Waves of metallic percussion tessellate around a thumping central bassline. Pneumatic flashes of noise seal a dense atmosphere full of equal parts euphoria and dread.
Garys is Ploy's most stripped back and potent club tool yet, striding into 'proper techno' territory, equipped and optimised for the highest yield.
Lost Hours drops the beats and pumps out a thick fog of hazy chords and bellowing subs. Perfect for after hours listening.
This is the second episode of our Various Artists serie.
The Fallen (a collaboration between Plural (James Johnson) and FBK (Kevin Kennedy)) opens the E.P. with Interference, a fast paced killer hypnotic dance floor friendly dub track: they create a sound that is unique, fluid and extremely danceable.
Philippe Petit follows with Exposed, a stripped down, bleepy bass-heavy rhythmic piece of techno.
Julixo brings us Own Structure, an aggressive jackin techno track leading to a warm synth line that will leave nobody indifferent.
Terrence Dixon closes the E.P. with Odd Numbers, a track that only him can do. Sub bass melodic techno reduced to the max: ace!

Milan based collective Just This return with two VA releases to continue their 'Broken Promises' series. With the aim of documenting the progression of cultural movements, the label have pursued underground material since 2010. Broken Promises Part 3 and Part 4 are due for release on 1st December and 8th December respectively, and each feature four new tracks channelling refined techno with minimalist, ambient sentiments.
Hunter/Game open Part 3 with 'Distance', a meditative journey through ambient textures using expansive synths and vast acoustics. Next, Architectural brandishes 808 drums for a tense workout on 'Electric Soul'. On the B-side, label co-owner Pisetzky explores the darker side of minimal on 'Anterial', whilst Altman plays with moody bass and ricocheting percussion on 'Shapes'.
Part 4 opens with a shuffling rhythmic framework on Inland's 'Aechmea', followed by 'Zona', a pointillist groove by Ben Gibson, aka one half of the collaborative project Dyad. On My Flower's 'Kundal', a cyclical melody wanders through eerie acoustics whilst Hiver navigates a broken beat framework with glitchy distortions and dub echoes on 'Stellar Parallax Landing'.

Bliq continues its quest to mine the deepest shades of techno with this release from Iakovos, who had previously appeared on the label as LowJac and in the formidable duo Deemonlover. This is sharply focused mind music layered with subtle detail and rich textures perfectly honed for hazy hours at the far reaches of the party. "Singers" melds hypnotic pads with gossamer-light threads of breakbeat and warm synth pulses, while "Evil Flower" pushes a tougher rhythmic agenda without losing the ethereal atmosphere. "Adidas People" rides on a surging kick drum pattern, but leaves ample room for a distant drone, and then "Hackney Tower" heads into edgier territory with all manner of obtuse angles and unnerving sound effects pivoting around the insistent drum core of the track.

This time is Ricardo Rodrigues AKA Industrialyzer who lands on the court of Damon Wild with three tracks perfectly aliened with the label's philosophy, Synewave has been at the service of real techno for over 20 years. It all begins with "Analogue Planet" a 130 bpm journey which rouses the dance floor whilst stimulating the mind, giving both of them no mercy. The second track, "Multiple Walls", carries the flavour of an Old School small march with a hammondesque synth which revolves around the groove from beginning to end. The atmosphere becomes dark and acid in the third and final track on this release. "Orbit X" is an emotional roller coaster which develops in different phases, everyone of which takes the listener by surprise. With this release Industrialyzer reminds us that, after all, New York, Detroit, Chicago, Berlin, Amsterdam or Lisbon don't really matter, quality techno is a global affair and Synewave consistently confirms this with releases above all schemes, movements and trends. RAVEDIT presents dance/pop music in the style of Rian Treanor. Across four radical edits, familiar and obscure ohrwurms are dissected and flipped in thrilling new ways, rendering razor sharp
and playfully nutty updates of Pakistani film music, Eurodance set-pieces and seminal synth-pop classics.
Rian extracts and accentuates their hooks in series of jabbing, asymmetric reductions for the 'floor with results intended to rewire muscle memories and inject the club with a healthy dose of
advanced daftness. In each part Rian exerts a singular spin on timeless evergreens, demonstrating his roots in hip hop and UK dance music's sampling cultures, while exemplifying an inexorable, personalised push for new patterns of dancefloor possibility.
All material has been thoroughly disruptive in a variety of situations, from midsummer rites at IMMA to Radio 1Xtra to freak raves in Salford and, most recently, as part of Rian's Boiler Room
performance in Helsinki, the latter of which drew opposing criticism from its YouTube viewers; prompting Wayne Cloete to remark 'what do you call this cos it aint music its like a production
that went wrong or still trying to figure out the beat', whereas Viktor Štech claimed Rian to be a 'genius with rhythm.' To be fair they're both right, but only one of them knows it.
Basically the A-side is mental party fuel - especially if you like alcopops, Lollywood soundtracks or Ferris Bueller's Day Off - while the B-side turns 3 mins of '80s pop brilliance into a 14 minute+ monster cannily riffing on the idea of deferred gratification.

Following on the Psyfunk label compilation, that shed a great deal of attention on the budding Argentine scene, is a full EP from Alan Castro.
Alan Castro's track 'Mi Alma Intoxicada' was a highlight of Various Artists #01 , definitively floaring and delicately rolling. On this new EP, Castro shows his complex capacities in composition.
'Ciderfunk' is without a doubt one of the most mind-boggling tracks we've heard for a very long time. Backed by 'Pacuriver' and 'DB Mucho' which are both equally as intricate, as the epically adventurous A-side.

French imprint A-TRACTION Records returns with a new EP from Marst late June, featuring two original compositions and one remix from Moteka.
Marst has been releasing music since 2012 via the likes of Kevin Saunderson's KMS Records, John Digweed's Bedrock and French Techno imprint A-TRACTION Records. Here we see Marst return to the latter with an exciting new project further showcasing his melodious, deep techno style which has seen heavy support from French electronic music pioneer Laurent Garnier since his humble beginnings.
Up first is title track 'Nanga' which sees Marst blend square wave arpeggios and an amalgamation of delayed staccato synth stabs with weighty rhythms and sporadic organic percussive rolls. The 'Vocal Mix' of 'Future' follows and embraces a deeper aesthetic via elongated sub drones, tuttering bass hits and snaking resonant lead hook, whilst psychedelic vocal murmurs further fuel its heady vibe.
Fellow Frenchman Moteka (Flash Recordings / Children Of Tomorrow) then turns in his first interpretation next with 'Remix 21' taking a more robust approach with pounding drums, murky atmospheric sweeps and vacillating synth chimes which ebb and flow throughout the groove. This year, A-TRACTION Records celebrate their 15th birthday... Let's celebrate with them !!

Full disclosure...I changed the entire release schedule to jam this record in this year. When you listen, hopefully can see why.
From getting the demos during my breakfast, the record was agreed and in the schedule by the time I'd finished my dinner.
Currently if you cut Austin Ato I believe he'll bleed an amazing record. This record swings between a peak-time hands in the air pink loveheart vibe, hot and heavy classic sample based house, and some real basement orientated machine-made jacking house.
Its like a quadruple A Side release, and I personally find it impossible to pick a favourite on here.

Part 1 of Rommek's 'Set in Stone Trilogy' for Blueprint sets the tone of the EP with an ambience of dark, atmospherics that build intensely leaving you with a feeling of anticipation of what is to come. Rommek then delivers 3 tracks of rhythmic techno from the driving 4/4 of Obsidian, to the gripping 3/4 of Rhyolite, finishing with the disjointed spatial beats of Scoria. IDM sound design constantly evolving the menacing undertones.
LA based independent experimental techno label Halocyan is back with Part 2 of The Third Man's incredible Procession e.p.
'Parallax' opens up proceedings drawing you in with its phased paranoid techno soundscapes. On the flip side 'The Deep' is exactly that, an immersive layering of synth textures and detuned organs. To close out the e.p. 'Nightflight' takes you on a nocturnal tip combing swelling pads, dreamy arps and melancholic Detroit flavoured synth lines to great effect.

Best Effort Records jumps out of the box with their inaugural release 'Number One' - a selection of tracks that celebrate friends making music together.Cold Emotion are Danny Wild and Rory Stenning. The duo explore improvised club music using various keyboards and modular synthesisers. 'Toast' is a track taken from an extensive live recording session from 2015. Accidental CV messages create unexpected cyclic baseline patterns while keyboard melodies float freely above jacking modular beats. The result is an imperfect, inspired club jam ready for any occasion. "Cantao" pitches things down from the hypnotic frenzy of "Toast" to offer a unique hybrid between computerized dub, subaquatic g-funk and triphop ambiance. Canadian Content!
"Manipulate Me" is a collaboration between Ivy Barkakati and Phran. The stark, alienated quality of Ivy's spoken vocals & dark subject matter sounds even more claustrophobic and sinister backed up by the duo's frigid machine-funk, which is more in the spirit austere & icy 80s coldwave than modern house music.
Metric Systems are a duo from somewhere in Australia. The fathoms-deep "Adaptation Dub', recored in 2009, is reminiscent of Australia's after-hour dub technicians Sheriff Lindo or Andy Rantzen. Look out for a full LP later in the year.

Malta native Dean Demanuele has always made tech-house with a swagger, but even his own lofty standards, his latest release is a joy to behold. Full of tension from the get-go, the Grey Game EP - released on Dean's always excellent Dazed and Confused label - confirms his reputation as his country's leading exporter of all things dancefloor driven.
Leading the way is the title track. A catchy techno jam that conjures up images of 5,000 people strong warehouse raves, this one is littered with vibes from the off. A real fist-bumper, it's the sort of track that's sure to prompt absolute pandemonium when dropped at the right moment. Stuffed with zippy synths and clever clicks, it's a deceptively simple piece of music that's sure to raise eyebrows and hands alike.
Although it starts off with seemingly modest ambitions, the other track ' Seeds', quickly unravels into a whole new different beats altogether. A banging track with peak-time flavours galore, it's notable for its gnarling acid lines and a killer baseline that's deserving of an especially large soundsystem. 'Grey Game' isn't the most subtle of tracks - but that's not the point here. If you're looking for something to absolutely desiccate the dancefloor this weather, consider yourself served here. Demanuele has been on a rich vein of form for some time now, and his latest compounds the fact.

You know when the dj drops something so special you're mentally forced to ask for the track and the reply you get is 'its my own unreleased track'. That's how I (Art Alfie) stumbled upon all three of these. About ten years ago I witnessed Van Rivers & The Subliminal Kid (Peder Mannerfelt) turn Berghain upside-down with the dark techno epos 'Mars Attacks'. Around the same time I had the luck to see Nils Westerlund boogle minds with the broken beat psychedelics of 'Suspiria' at a Stockholm Open Air. Last but not least, a couple of years ago I heard 'Thicker Than Blood' for the first time, like the Sirens in greek mythology, it lured people on to the dance floor at Stockholms classic summer hot spot F12. I've been playing these tracks ever since and Im beyond happy I get to share them with the world at this point. //Art Alfie
BIOTIC is our first release on ALLFEELINGS MUSIC, a label focused on emotive dance music. All releases will be available exclusively on vinyl. AF01 is the first self release from London based DJ and Producer ALLFEELINGS. This is a 2 track DJ tool release very reminiscent of Detroit Techno. This release has the support from Mark Broom.

Anyone who's followed Maurice Aymard's Galaktika label over the years will be all too aware of the imprint's leaning toward eclectic sounds. It's an ethos that mirrored in the work of Aymard himself and regardless of whether he's turning his hand to tech house sounds or more straight-up techno jams, his is a way of working that's endeared him to many over the years. His latest is a case in point. The 75th chapter in the Galaktika discography, the Into the Night EP serves up an array of sounds that are enticing as they are upbeat and intriguing.
Getting us underway is the sounds of the title track. An unfurling beast of a track that's loaded with dramatic tension throughout, it's an eerie cut that's characterised by its clever bells and some incessant percussion. A full on track that's not to be handled lightly, it's repetitive nature and sporadic vocal charms is indicative of Levon Vincent at his best.
'Shinning', a more progressive cut, follows after. Another track that's notable for the suspense that lingers throughout, it serves up a nice stylistic alternative to what's arrived before. Aymard then goes all out on the frankly astounding sounds of 'Rage'. A propulsive gem of the type that sees the producer greatly rewarded for trying something that bit different, it's a special sort of track that takes on various tones throughout but always stays captivating. Seeing us out soon after is Eduardo de la Calle's remix of the latter. The Cadenza man is well versed in all things deep and dextrous, and his interpretation serves up a fitting example of his talents. Although it starts on a melodic tip, it too soon brings the listener on a thoroughly captivating but unexpected journey. Much like the rest of this EP, De la Calle's remix is full of surprises from the off.

Berlin-based duo ONTHEGROUND which consists of Myztical and Diagenetic Origin, is about to release 'Role Of The Observer', their follow-up to last year s debut EP 'Touching Higher Ground'. This record is a snapshot of their creative development and hard work which took them at least a year to put together.
The A Side takes up where the last year's EP left off, establishing a template of industrial pummeling techno with a focus on irresistible, broken groove. A1 'The Power Of Prayer' is a powerful banger droning synths and dislocated samples build up the anticipation, before massive kicks drop and propel the tension onwards. A2 'Controlled By Faith' is similarly destructive on the dancefloor, a bundle of rasping, dirty rattles that drive on relentlessly in funky delirium.
The B Side delves into the darker, more elusive recesses of the duo's creativity. On B1 'Ancient Cycles', distorted rumbles morph over pattering, primordial percussive patterns. B2 'Role Of The Observer' ratchets out a heady mesh of fragmented, disorientating textures over frantic, propulsive beats.

Klas Henrik Lindblad better known as Sasse or Freestyle Man has been a friend of our label for many years and also released together with Dorian for our Raum Musik Compilation in 2005. Soul Sounds without any doubt still is one of his absolute masterpieces and he was never willing to do anything with it and just let it rest in peace until the idea came up to re release it for our label. Usually we are not licensing or re releasing anything but Sasse and especially this track of him definitely deserve it. As it is also our 20 years anniversary we got one of our key artists on board that has been playing the track again a lot recently and that also immediately liked the idea of remixing this track and this is the result now. We are happy to present you the original track of Sasse plus two remixes by our dear friend Ricardo Villalobos and label head Dorian Paic together. Enjoy !

For Atrophic Society's 10th release, simply titled X', Material Object has delved into his archives to uncover a previously unreleased co-production with Audio Injection in the form of Cwejack'. Effectual and triumphant. marching forward with purpose. A treasure. A perfect fit.
Grindr', Material object's other contribution, takes us to the wild edge of sonic exploration and back again. Music poised to push us into the abyss with acidic snarls and overwhelming drones, a writhing black sea swallowing everything in it's path.
Married with Vohkinne's Vestigial Structures' and Device One (Risualistic)', the theme of the EP takes shape. Non-standard music for non-standard people. X marks the spot. Get lost, drown, buried deep. Go beyond.
South London label and party series Troy Town is proud to present the first release in 3 years from Warren Brown aka Wbeeza, insanely talented South London producer and 1st generation pioneer of what has become affectionately known in dance music as the 'Peckham Sound'. DJs, producers and musicians such as Henry Wu, Bradley Zero and Chaos in the CBD have added to the wealth of a deeply musical community but it was the likes of Brown and another SE15 local, El-Prevost, who first put the area on the dance music map.
Although he's resistant to using the word House too often about his music, the swing nods to Detroit and Chicago while the links to friends and collaborators, Delano Smith, Mike 'Agent X' Clark and Scott Grooves are clear. Progressing through a musical heritage that has seen him produce across grime, hip-hop, drum n bass and techno but it's his signature low slung, heavy-on-groove and atmosphere productions that have garnered the respect of peers and critics whilst his popular and energetic live sets have seen him tour extensively around the world for the past 8 years.
This 3-track EP covers a variety of moods and situations. Opening with The OD, a heady march to peak time on the dancefloor which has featured heavily in live sets over the last 2 years. The bassline bubbles tantalisingly as it edges through a kinetic, digital riff that sticks with you long after the lights go up.
Grove Park is so low slung that the snare sounds like it might fall out of sync at any moment while the lead synth leads you on a drunk walk home, at times holding it's line before stumbling over a pitch bend and veering to find its balance.
Bizzle Boogie is equal parts gritty, Midwest-influenced bounce track and shimmering eyes closed rave moments.

As proprietors' of the Will & Ink label, Yaleesa Hall & Malin Genie have been maintaining a busy and consistent release schedule of top notch techno sounds, largely releasing their own, well received, productions. The duo appeared on Hypercolour's "10 Years" compilation in 2016 with the excellent "Buchan Trap", and we've been blessed to secure a full single release with the on-point pair. The mechanical funk of "Artin" swings with plenty of assured groove; the shuffling hats, dense kicks and dubby stabs that ping pong across this fierce production mark this out as a real killer cut. Dario & Marco Zenker, AKA the Zenker Brothers, take time out from their busy Ilian Tape operations to remix "Artin" into a brutal yet funky techno goliath. Congas perpetually roll forward, with frenetic 909 hats and raw and ready stabs in what may well be one of the Zenker's finest remixes to date. The essence of funk continues in Hall & Malin's music, with "Cahen", a great slab of compelling techno that never slips too far into darkness, instead keeping an ever evolving groove and some abstract drone like synthesis to keep the mood buoyant. Wrapping up the release is "Brown", a track that finishes as urgently as it starts, perhaps with a cap doffed to the Purpose Maker sounds of a certain Jeff Mills, but broadening the palette to allow some trippy sound architecture and an effective breakdown mid way through. Modern day techno supplied by a duo that will most certainly flourish over the coming months, Yaleesa Hall & Malin deliver the goods aplomb on this Hypercolour single.

Artefakt come from the deepest branch of techno. The partnership of Robin Koek (Cyspe) and Nick Lapien (Metropolis, Rhine) have explored subterranean caverns, dense forests and unknown lands on labels like Prologue, Field and Delsin and their latest three track expedition on DSC continues that journey into the beyond. "Raid" is a near nine minute odyssey, a trip into shimmering cymbals, acid growls, placid lakes and ritualistic rhythms. The flip finds a breaking in the dense foliage: "The Radiant City", a sanctuary of soaring strings, soothing pads and entrancing harmonies. "Lichtspiel" writes a different tale. Muted tones are ruffled by an industrial edge, the hand of man and the rise of the machine blended with a natural and organic warmth. A 12" rooted in the undisturbed and unspoilt lands of the ancient.

Coldgeist's music on Unknown Bodies is an intimate reinterpretation of coldwave, techno and dark ambient codes, uttered with strength, guts, and an underlying romantic soul. Inspired by nocturnal runs of "bosozoku" bikers clans, who stem from this japanese subculture of the late seventies ; Coldgeist has created a series of soundscapes and songs that evoke speeding through foggy nights and fluorescent lights. Haunting repetitions and stiffness of the rhythms as a metaphor of mechanical gestures, of bodies turned into units of consumption, stranded from the life and passion they crave. The frustration of a youth that only finds relief in extreme experiences, danger, and the sexual tension of speed and crashes. With analog and digital instruments, field recordings but also his own voice and songs, Coldgeist has bred a truly unique record.

Ushering in the next series of 10 releases on Horo and an all new look is the introduction of a new Horo artist signing - Lemna, collaborating with an artist who has become integral to the Horo sound - Sam KDC. Together Lemna and Sam KDC are Ourea. Ourea I is an amalgamation of their two very singular approaches to electronic music. Polyrhythmic experimental tribal tinged techno, Ourea I is deceptive in it's percussive shapeshifting, but strongly effective in the hands of the right DJ. Amsterdam based label Anagram readies label co-founder Sinfol's first solo release in three years entitled 'Pull Back'. The release, which features four passionate tracks, sees the light of day in the beginning of April. Since the launch of Anagram three years ago the label has put out a steady flow of releases from artists such as Anetha, Octual, Stefan Vincent, Elad Magdasi and Haze. However, the imprint has also acted as the main platform for Sinfol's own productions. Blurring the line between various subgenres, the Dutch artist is an eclectic one and meanders between acid, house, techno and more. The chords and arpeggios set the mood in 'Life Off Measure' where robotic elements rise to meet them, carving the way for 'Result' with its oscillating tones, clap fueled percussion and three-o-three licks. 'Pull Back' is packed with a thunderous energy that's intertwined with Sinfol's soulful vocals and ethereal synths, before swaying into deep house territory with 'Exhale'. The track's rolling bass, broken drums and twinkling melodies round off the latest instalment on the rising Amsterdam label off in a graceful manner.

ALLFEELINGS is releasing a 12" in dedication to his love for early dub techno coming out of Berlin. The idea behind the title 'Untitled' is to give the listeners more space to interpret the tracks themselves rather than being distracted with any track names.
As ALLFEELINGS MUSIC label is about the amalgamation of sounds and rhythms to bring about a visceral experience, this can be observed in the African inspired percussion on side A and the subtle changes and movement it has throughout its length. Side B focuses more on easy listening with sounds and dry textures meandering slowly demanding the listener's attention at all times.
The other great thing about this record is it works really well pitched down which can be used to great effect during warm ups and after hours. This release has the support from Ario and O:utlier from Astral Industries.
"Fresh off his album release on Sneakers Social Club, Appleblim links up with the Boogie Box Records crew to deliver two EPs on the Middle Eastern based label.First up. diamond black metallic:
confidns founded their own label 'diamond black metallic' in 2017, as a platform for releases and remixes by friends and admired producers of the techno scence's old and new generation.
The 12" debut on diamond black metallic will be released in summer 2017 with the confidns tracks EXTASE and PROMISK, as well as a dark, powerful and refined remix of EXTASE, produced by nobody less than Chris Liebing.
confidns bio:
Talking about confidns, it is impossible not to mention the rumors and legends surrounding their 2016 residency during the Afterlife label nights, hosted by Tale Of Us every thursday at famed Space Club Ibiza. The two Berlin based long term friends, who grew up in Mannheim, Germany attracted attention with their super long dj-sets, lasting up to 8 hours.
Performing the warm up on the Space Club's sunset terrace and closings in the chamber, the duo, founded in 2015, proofed a mesmerizing sense for playing with the crowd. They mastered the artistic challenge of leading the audience through the night, with both spherical ambient sets and driving techno beats. Confidns does not shy away from mixing timeless classics from genres like ebm, synth pop, dub and industrial techno with unforgettable pieces/tracks, such as from boards of Canada and Tropic of Cancer in their ambient sets. One could already experience the two daredevils in clubs like Nordstern Basel, Labyrinth Club Hasselt, Egg Club London and Loft Club Ludwigshafen, where they played two sets of 7 hours alongside Chris Liebing and Dj Deep during the official Time Warp 2017 pre-party.
Driven by the high artistic and musical standard of Tale of Us' Afterlife label, the two artists behind confidns founded their own label 'diamond black metallic' in 2017, as a platform for releases and remixes by friends and admired producers of the techno scence's old and new generation.
The 12' debut on diamond black metallic will be released in summer 2017 with the confidns tracks EXTASE and
PROMISK, as well as a dark, powerful and refined remix of EXTASE, produced by nobody less than Chris Liebing.
2017 is promising to be an exciting year for confidns. In addition to gigs at the Afterlife showcase in Privilege Ibiza
and the Sziget Festival in Budapest, the duo will start their collaboration with the booking agency Artist Alife and

Slam City Jams are back with their first compilation. A 4-tracker packed up with five amazing artists from all over the globe. And let's face it: It's a breaky affair! Starting off with our Munich homeboys from COEO. Known for their funked up house tunes on Toy Tonics, they start into complete new realms this time. ‚Never Going Home' is the perfect example of a dope broken beat electro tune, that with it's weird synth line & smooth breakdown never failed on a gig in the last months. On A2 the man Doppelate from London (Let's Go Swimming Rec.) exactly hits the spot with mezmerizing synths, tight drum programming and a crunchy acid bassline on ‚Four Feet Up The Stairs'. The flip side starts off with label head honchos Rhode & Brown, who teamed up with their buddy Leo Woelfel from Austria, both known for releases on Toy Tonics, Public Possession or Let's Play House. Here the name ‚More Drama (Less Hysteria)' says it all: Pure drama on this breaky acid tune! To round up this great package we've got Marco Lazovic from Moscow on B2. He digs deep ‚In The Jungle' with rolling 707 drums, dreamy synths and this tropical atmosphere we can't get enough of.it.

Repitch's latest releases is a full-on acid assault, a distorted analog techno speedwagon driven by label co-founder D.Carbone along with Panzerkreux affiliate and rave veteran Albert Van Abbe. Side A is composed of two tracks produced by Van Abbe and Paul Van Ghent under the guise of his most unapologetic acid project Penik Etteck. Recorded between 1998 and 2000, it is a duo of incendiary bangers made for no other purpose than pumping energy into the rave. On the flip side, Van Abbe's youngest project Datasmok sides with D.Carbone for two more tracks ripe with acid basslines, heavily distorted drums, and noisy drones, speeding up the tempo on the first one and slowing it down on the second in order to explore the many dynamic possibilities of raving.

As with all Ultradyne works there is meaning in everything. Ocular Animus delves into the mindset of humanity and breaks away from the usual EP format - Three tracks - five songs. This release explores the terraforming of humanitity as seen through the eyes of the machinists as they look into the mirror at it's underbelly. Solid rhythms, shifting beats, eerie synth lines splatter across the canvass of this new release feeding the beat hungry and philosopher alike. Fear. Uncertainty. Hate. A glimpse of the possible future or the deconstruction of a paradigm. You decide if you like what you see.

What can be said about the girl whose greatest friend was the Mist
It can be said she was never short of adventure, for each time the Mist cleared, it had a new surprise. Rabbits and rocking horses came out of hats the size of hills, armies of ants played in marching bands, deer danced, giraffes juggled, elephants tap-danced atop the moon, flowers bloomed in the sky, and stars shone on the ground, because, why can't down be up
With the Mist there was always the kind of hocus pocus that twisted itself into a pocus hocus, a shenanigan or a hijinks so high it could not be jinxed, but it had to be jumped ... By a fish flown by a boy from out of town ... It was enough to make her giddy with happy.

Dys Functional Electronic Music is a compilation release from Repitch Recordings, celebrating the label's first five years. Its ambivalent title aims to represent the sonic behaviour of its content, often deviating from norms or distancing itself from common club functionalism. For this release, the 3 REPITCH masterminds Ascion, D. Carbone and Shapednoise are joined by a selection of the artists who contributed shaping the Repitch sound throughout the years, along with guests that inspired them in this adventure. During the past 5 years the main focus of the label was to set up a platform for experimentations across the dancefloor canon, establishing a standout musical identity. A spirit that resonates within each artist's personal approach: from Ascion's dark breakbeats to The Exaltics and AnD's acid frontalism, Shapednoise's brooding noise, Sote's fractured rave, D. Carbone and Gaja's intrusions into melody, Pinch and the Zenker Brothers' dub-infused atmospherics, Skudge's love of gloom and Nuel's IDM-ish minimalism.

From the very first track, it's clear that Abby Echiverri's debut, the 'Ab Initio' EP is something different and rare: a polished and fresh interpretation of electronic music that incorporates classic electro squelches with intricate broken beats and expansive synthesizer zone-outs.
.
Although this is her first EP, Abby has extensive history as a musician, sound engineer, DJ and VJ. Her current trajectory started early in childhood when she was classically trained in violin, flute, piano and vocals, cementing music as a part of her daily life. In high school she picked up turntables and began collecting records, eventually moving to NYC to study recording engineering and perform in post-punk bands, and became a regular at Wierd and The Bunker at a very young age. Since then, Echiverri has devoted her professional hours to engineering, maintaining, and manufacturing audio equipment for studios and clubs around the world.
This record's name 'Ab Initio' means 'from the beginning' or 'from first principles', invoking a propulsive leap into the future and also perhaps including an element of the eponymous. When we asked her to tell us more about the process of creating these hardware-based jams, Abby explained: 'It all stems from my own experiences on the dancefloor and wanting to recreate that for other people. I want to make music that rewires the brain: music that is challenging, yet groovy... repetitive, yet evolving. An aural psychedelic. It's a lofty goal - I'm still working on it.' If Ab Initio is one of her first steps towards that goal then we can't wait to see what happens next.

Keeping the concept of a tight knit family of artists, up next on Sol Asylum is the follow up EP for the Dilated Pupils titled Introducing Remi. This collective of likeminded artists from the Netherlands return to the label with a solid four-track EP that shows their range and diversity as producers.
Moving full speed ahead we start off with 'Remi at 21.16' a track that instantly hypnotizes you on the dance floor with its echoing harmonic synths and a complex metallic snare pattern. The track is a slow burner that explodes when the dirty analog kick, swinging bassline, and filtered percussion melt into an atomic fusion.
Next we take it to the next level with 'Do' its underwater bubbling percussion, bleeping stabs and eerie synth take us to the far off corners of space with just enough acid to keep our heads down and grooving to the strobe light in a dark room.
As we move into fall with 'October Times' a tightly woven groove and galloping kicks push us into more experimental territory with soaring vintage synths that create tension and finesse at the same time.
Finally we finishing things off with the esoteric vibes of 'Suque' this deep and dirty track channels the positive force from another realm, which is the perfect match for the inspiriting concept of Sol Asylum.

"I use music as a medium to talk to other people", Sun Ra once revealed. The Düsseldorfer Stefan Schwander would agree with this statement by the avant-garde jazz great, though he would not necessarily sign his name to it. He also speaks to people through music. Yet he also likes to let music talk to music. Since 2008, as Harmonious Thelonious, on numerous EPs and two albums, he blends the reduced patterns and structures of American minimalist music with African, Latin American and Caribbean rhythms. For his new work "Santos", which he sees as an LP with a unified concept, he embarked on a mental journey to the north of the African continent and became entranced by Moroccan trance music. The resulting pieces are light, with traces of pop, interweaving the atmospheres of the Master Musicians Of Joujouka and Gnawa music with the driving force of techno. This time Schwander invited a handful of guest musicians to serve as sound sources. The Berliner Ghazi Barakat, former bass player of Stereo Total and man behind the psychedelic experimental project Pharoah Chromium, contributed modified sounds from his Moroccan flute. A second guest musician is the Cologne-based composer Volker Zander, who has long played double bass and electric bass with Calexico. For songs like "Mountains" or "Belloumi" he played a melody on the Turkish Tambur, lending an oriental flair to the vital rhythms of the tracks. The intricate rhythmic patterns also incorporate instruments such as banjo, mandolin and Afro-Cuban drums, played by the percussionist Stefan Suhr, who studied Afro-Cuban ritual drumming in Cuba. Schwander's electronic sequencing blurs these organic sources and brings them into a fluid dialogue with his electronic ideas. For a piece like "Rendez-vous of the Dead", for example, Harmonious Thelonious projected himself out of the studio onto the Djemaa el Fna square in Marrakech. Here, every evening after sunset, local musicians meet and play themselves into a frenzy on distorted mandolins. Harmonious Thelonious translates this dream into a quaking dance monster whose home might be a techno club with an experimental sonic approach. Of course, most of the pieces of "Santos" are heavily danceable, although this time Harmonious Thelonious' tracks roll a little slower than previously. Their rugged beauty has also given way to a very smooth sound. His music, however, has lost none of its complexity. The many voices speak together, propelling each other toward something that traverses traditional genre boundaries, creating a playful trance. The cover of "Santos" underscores this: It is a collage designed by the artist himself, depicting his notion of an all-star band. Everyone must decipher for themselves exactly who is to be found there. Here, once again, the pictures are not direct portrayals, but veiled references to an emotional state hidden far beyond the visual realm. Just like the music of Thelonious Harmonious, which uses various layers tell countless stories.

Infinite Fields is an electronic music duo from Paris. Both artists are inspired by a wide range of musical genres and their friendship has resulted in this collaborative EP on Quanta Records.
Fraction of Time presents a raw and hybrid techno. The uncompromising WFS' is in line with the original social concern of the Detroit techno pioneers and should have an instant impact on any clubber anywhere. The B-side contains two tracks, Zygomatiques' and Slow Suicide', with elaborate melodies and funk influences. The use of analog synthesizers brings a radiant aspect to these tracks.

Dutch live-act and DJ duo Artefakt return to Delsin Records with an intricately produced three track release entitled 'Falling Into The Light'. Artefakt began releasing music together in 2012 and now boast a discography spanning Field Records, Konstrukt and Deep Sound Channel, not to mention regular appearances on Delsin where their debut album entitled 'Kinship' dropped in 2017. Returning to Delsin, the pair's next outing once again demonstrates their ever-evolving sound and is an exciting precursor for the launch of their own label later this year. Rolling drums open the release in 'The Blue Hour' as murky synths join hazy atmospherics, making way for 'Weltformel' with its racing syncopated percussion and ethereal pads that ebb and flow throughout the mix. Finally, 'Falling Into The Light' combines springy kicks with crystalline melodies, metallic elements and rattling effects to conclude a mesmerising release.

Shadowy UK based producer Bleaching Agent (AKA Al Mathews) will release his new EP 'Mulkul' this May on newly minted London label Reposition Records. The four-track release also features a remix by D-56M (AKA Nick Dunton of 65d Mavericks), who also runs Poverty Is Violence and Surface Records.Bleaching Agent's latest 12" follows releases on some of underground music's most interesting labels, including Mira, Opal Tapes and Komisch. Matthews is well known for his collaborative projects too - from his deranged, progressive Blacknecks duo with Truss, to the prolific techno output of Forward Strategy Group. He also maintains a DJ residency at Body Horror, a Manchester based gore-themed queer techno/industrial/transgressive performance art night.
Mulkul' is the second release on Reposition Records, and follows the debut release by Belgian producer T-Scale. Formed by London based DJs and artists Medallion Man - who also runs Loose Lips and 199Radio and El Prevost, who runs label No Speakers and has released under Third Ear Recordings - the label explores varying strains of raw, left-field dance music. Mulkul' offers a more stripped down and slower version of the sound Bleaching Agent has evolved - albeit one that is still rooted in atonality and the unnatural industrial sound he specialises in, this time developed into something more disciplined. Delving into minimalism within a raw industrial sound, the tracks are built with tight, melodic grooves locked inside the vacuum of a dense hardware-heavy sound.Albeni' is a pounding warehouse stomp, punching through with a repetitive vocal sample, snarling synths and a hard bassline. The D-56M remix of 'Free Fere Fer Fe' offers crusading space-age techno chiming with sinister synths and a blistering bassline, creating an almost cinematic ambience. The dystopian terrain is shot through with melody and nuance - visceral, oppressive soundscapes frequently segueing into more moodier, subtler moments.

* After the feature "Silent Singer" on STONEDWAVE007, the unique Scottish producer CHORDATA shows a huge range of variety on this debut ep, telling skillfully a story consisting of six chapters. What to expect: Electro from Scotland based on ancient myths as indicated by the Cover artwork with a double Raven and celtish knotwork. The ghosts are in the machine and they are spawn by classic 808 drumbeats which form the rhythm for the actors which tell their story in the shape of playful melodies, rave signals, robot vocals and acid lines. A1 "Feline Domination": Maybe the cats of ancient Egypt are referred to by this title. Anyway, the opener should definitely dominate the dancefloor of an electro party at the prime time. The listener´s attention is attracted by a robot voice, strong 808 beats, analogue bass and thrilling rave signals
A2 "The Epic Of Gilgamesh"
The "Gilgamesh" epos has had obviously an impact on both Chordata and Chip Tronic ( Gilgamesh EP ( STONEDWAVE003 )). Memories of Dutch or French Electro legends might come up listening to this tune. This is the hymn of the EP reminding of an ancient hero dwelling in the city of Ur at the time when Earth was still young.
A3 "Séamus"( quote from Wikipedia: (Irish pronunciation: 'ems),
is a Gaelic male first name of Latin origin. It is the Gaelic equivalent of the name James. )
Musically, James delivers straight out of the kitchen fragile sweet pads on top of an easy beat and a fluffy synth with a braindance referral.
Thank you, James!
B1
"Geis It"
This tune´s sounds are so fragile that the anagram "Geist" which is German for "ghost" might be adequate. Easy electro pops and quirky synth leads are playing around reminding of classic Electrolux or Interdimensional Transmission releases of the 90ies.
B2
"Mr Morris". This is a heavy electro bass monster with lots of modulations on evil freaked out synthesizers which almost bite into the listener´s ears. Wonky electro funk with lots of screaming leads on top of a hectic 808 drum machine rhythms. Spooky chords mark the appearance of the protagonist described by the title. Beware of Mr.Morris!
B3
"Samhain".
Samhain is a Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter or the "darker half" of the year. The last but not least tune marks the end of this EP and is also a darker track with hypnotic hot acid lines jumping on top of the 808.

When Neon was originally released on Datapunk in 2006, it was a landslide. Being championed by Sven Väth for ages (and being one of the tracks that were the soundtrack to his notorious vocal performance at Time Warp that very year) - it was the track that ultimately cemented Gregor´s status as one of the main representatives for a new breed of Techno producers by inventing a trademark sound that shaped the path to the future. With the original recording being carefully remastered in Ljubljiana by Gregor Zemljic with greatest precision, this new version brings that trademark sound to life once again - or has it ever been away really
On the flipside we have a remix by another notorious heavyweight: Butch! His version, originally sketched not so long after the original came out, takes the melodies of the original track to the housier floors. When Butch sent his version to Gregor a little bit over a year ago it actually established the idea of a re-release.
We believe there probably couldn´t be a better track than Neon to underline the name of our newly founded label: GTO - Gregor Tresher Originals

Mika Vainio and Franck Vigroux's brutal yet filigree electronics hauntingly come to light in 'Ignis', which finally discloses the further, etheric results of recording sessions that made up their 'Peau Froide, Léger Soleil' album in 2014, their celebrated previous collaboration for Cosmo Rhythmatic.Posthumously issued following Mika's untimely death in 2017, Ignis taps into the pair's mutual respect for unsound and proprioceptive allusion, operating at liminal levels of tonal and spatial perception in a six track LP that leaves the project with a sense of unresolved tension.
Since Mika Vainio's seminal Pan Sonic group with Ilpo Väisänen ceased service in 2009, Mika found one of his sharpest foils in French multi-instrumentalist Franck Vigroux. They embarked
on a lengthy creative process, articulated through studio and live performances, resulting in the powerful Peau Froide, Léger Soleil album and stacks of further recordings planned for a 2nd release.
The end results of their efforts are collected on Ignis, a set of six parts paying tribute to a mutual fascination with what lies at and beyond the threshold of sonic comprehension. Where their
previous effort traded in a mix of colossal, pendulous industrial funk and abyss-baiting doom, this follow-up fully embraces the void in all its glorious mystery.
From a trail of icy bleeps, Brume lures us into cathedral-like ice cave dimensions with breathtaking cinematic effect, before the antechamber of Ne te retourne pas highlights those supposed dimensions with streaks of phosphorescing light to much more paranoid, imposing degrees, before calving off into the mechanical jaws of Luxure.
Deep in the beast's mouth, Vigroux bleats a forlorn vocoder message on Un peu après le soleil, and their Luceat lux gives rise to their most extreme, dynamic frequency massages, for Feux to wrap up the trip in a barbed wire bouquet of ravishing distortion.

Berlin-based Palms Trax continues adding to his run of quality efforts with the forthcoming release of his High Point On Low Ground EP: impressive effort number two for the Dekmantel imprint.
Serving up three retro-futuristic killers, Donaldson parades his ability to touch on the many different corners of contemporary house music, whilst delivering heavyweight dancefloor standards. The title track blazes a beaten-up vocal snippet over stanked-out synths, stretched to a breaking point across a low-riding bass line. A stabbing Moroder-esque bass line dominates 'Cloud City', whilst 'Paws' equals pure and raw broken-beat bliss with a pinch of acid.

The EP s driving force comes from the stripped-down approach that has become a trademark of Shkedul s sound. After releasing in labels such as Offworldcolonies, Undveld brings to Order&Devotion an obscure journey through far landscapes. The beginning of the trip starts with two cuts starred by hypnotic beats, tense pads and abstract synths. Following this, on the B side you'll find a strong remix by label's honcho Kwartz, adding heavy industrialized elements to the Lithuanian artist work. The journey ends with an ambient excerpt.
An astronomical conjunction has cropped up. Arpanet is back after a long interstellar hibernation and 30drop comes up with its particular vision of the abstract Elektro for the very first time.
'Phases EP' takes the primal Warp's heritage blending hypnotic melodies with rhythmically complex patterns.
Arpanet, which keeps the exquisiteness of its previous works for Rephlex, among other labels, gazes into the black profoundness of its own and unique universe.
30drop's two cuts, ostensibly touched by the Aphex Twin spirit, are a spellbinding exercise of style.
'Phases EP' is experimental, atmospheric, rhythmic and, above all, flawless. This enthralling EP is presented in electric blue vinyl. A special shape for a very special alliance.

Following his R&S debut, Afriqua (aka Adam Longman Parker) presents Vice/Principle, his second release for the renowned Belgian label.
Recorded in the summer of 2017, Vice/Principle began as one of Afriqua's seasonal music packs, a quarterly offering of original tracks shared privately with a small cohort of friends and collaborators. R&S quickly picked up the collection, which expands on the melodicism and textural depth explored on his previous release for the label, Aleph.
The extended EP sees Parker veering into psychedelic territory, inspired by the cosmic departures of '70s krautrock and jazz. The title, Vice/Principle, more a coy bit of humor than a philosophical statement, reflects a wittiness that Parker often embeds into even the brawniest of his productions. This offbeatness is active in the music as well, which makes use of his voice, and edges past familiar four-on-the-floor patterns with interwoven polyrhythms and modality. Vice/Principle is confident in its curiosity, harnessing a wealth of artistic threads into a tightly knit, futuristic vision.
Parker currently resides in Berlin, Germany, where he works from his home studio in the city's quiet Charlottenburg neighborhood. Born and raised in Hampton, Virginia, Parker developed his craft as a producer while studying classical piano and practicing hip-hop turntablism from a young age.
After several years developing a hefty catalog of releases, Parker has embraced his R&S signing as an opportunity to dive deeper into his signature, yet versatile sound. His successful winter 2017 tour through the U.S. was a career first, and preceded international events at Comunité in Mexico, Concrete in Paris, and The Block in Tel Aviv.
EVOL shut the game down with Ideal Acid - a, KILLER 20 minute rinse thru 303 acid cherries pitted and sequenced, tweak for tweak, into the wildest acid track ever made. No hype, this record is the maddest belter in EVOL's extensive catalogue, taking their obsession with Roland's squelchy grey box to an ultimate, logical conclusion that leaves dancefloors turned utterly inside out and begging for track ID's.
Produced in Barcelona and further product tested between Stockholm and Manchester, iDEAL 303 is the kind of idea that has been floated in raves, smoking areas and afterparties for the past 20 years but has never been executed with such precise method and inexorable effect, until now.
Taking way too many classics to mention, EVOL modulates their mutual variable, the Roland TB-303 Bass Line, in a cascade of liquified riffs that last anywhere between 1 beat and a few bars
before shifting to the next pattern, and so forth. The cumulative effect of elastic undulation is mind-bending and body-jacking in the extreme, yet uncompromisingly crafted at the immediate
service of the rave.
It feels as though much of EVOL's practice to date, from mixes for FACT and Reel Torque, to their experimental objets for Alku and blasts for Presto!, Diagonal and BUS have been leading to this
point: the ultimate acid rave tool.

"The Lights", the EP´s title track is a profound and complex story, never forcing itself upon the listener but gently picking him up in real sophisticated (production) manner. The second original track, "Blckout", is based upon a more repetitive structure. A deep male vocal, intertwining with a mystical synth-line and driving percussions gives this track its compelling energy. The B-Side of the release consists of two remixes by MYNY and Echonomist giving it both clubby structure and a beautiful-warm atmosphere.

* The production duo behind the rave-new world sounds of 'Turbo Mitzi' and 'Big Slug (Feat. Riko Dan)' have been busy in the studio recently and return to form with 2 killer cuts designed to shock out the dancefloor.
* 'Control' picks up the tempo from the duos previous cuts, rolling at 140 beats per minute, in it's apocalyptic form. Powerful pads create the tension before sub-heavy kicks and cybernetic snares come pounding and chopping in, building up the mood before a radioactively charged Reese-bassline emerges, rising to the surface, unleashing its terror. This is a stone-cold banger.
* 'Strobe Light' returns to the more familiar 128bpm tempo that the pair have previously worked with. Taking a quite unique approach, 'Strobe Light' builds evermore, moving into the light, layering percussion up as an intoxicating drone of swirling strings swells and swells - entrancing and empowering in equal measures. this is a highly versatile DJ tool that also makes for an engrossing listen from start to finish. Refined dancefloor ear candy.
Ljudverket celebrates the tenth release of the imprint with music by Rasmus Hedlund. Intet Efter Allt is the result of new explorations in the field of ambient, dub and techno. Crossing borders with electro and other genres, the tracks are still sonically faithful to the sound of Ljudverket - highly organic synthesis accompanied by field recordings. The record starts off like a journey through nature. The thunder and rain of Bas Emfas shifts to blue skies above shimmering water with Lumino¨s Klang. Continuing on the flip side with the cerebral jam Konflux Sekvens, the EP ends in the deep emotions of Sonisk Morgonsyn, to finish the trip
Sharif Laffrey can charm the snake out of any basket. This is his first offering for the ESP Institute. Side A's Tangier is a long drawn-out exercise, an endurance test of the highest order. Over the span of some thirteen minutes, elements bob and weave intermittently and layers overlap haphazardly—the type of exciting dynamic that's born out of restriction—as if putting down a live jam without enough hands to work the console, yet Sharif perseveres. As touch and go as this arrangement may be, there is something that undoubtedly glues it all in place; the combination of his massive rolling 16th-note bassline and his tough-as-nails drumkit is so good that, upon first listen, we spat out our tea and insisted on its release. On side B, Everything Is Nice carries on with loose arrangement, dirty production and layers of inexplicable spoken- word samples (a Sharif calling card by now) but this time we're lead to a melancholy place, the blue comedown to Side A's antagonistic trial. With his ESP Institute debut, Sharif leaves you mentally unhinged, as if you've smoked something interesting and arrived bewildered in some Saharan labyrinth. These two songs will guide you through the medina to score the black meat.
Originally a heavy metal drummer, Bård Aasen Lødemel aka Skatebård, got into techno and rave during the '90s. Hailing from a small town called Ørsta on the Norwegian west coast, Lødemel moved to Bergen where he quickly became part of the student town's growing club scene. After handing over a homemade demo to Tellé Records label boss Mikal Telle, Lødemel got signed to Tellé offshoot label Tellektro in 2001. His first release under the name of Skatebård, a 12" mini album called "Skateboarding Was a Crime (In 1989)" was released in 2002, and Skatebård's reputation as an excellent techno/electro producer started to spread beyond Norway's borders. Since then Skatebård has gone on to release on labels such as Sex Tags Mania, Radius Records, Supersoul Recordings, Keys of Life Finland, Luna Flicks, Totally as well as his own Digitalo Enterprises.
"Skateboarding Was a Crime (In 1989)" was pressed in a very limited edition and sold out quickly. Since then it has been a desired object for record collectors and techno and electro aficionados around the globe. Now the time has come to make the mini album available again, something this true masterpiece really deserves.

Synkro AKA Joe McBride teams up with veteran Arovane AKA Uwe Zahn for a sublime collaborative EP on Apollo. ' Refractive (Index)' sees the duo exploring their shared love of broken beats and dreamy soundscapes. The pair are also connected through their affection for Yamaha's venerable handheld sequencer, the QY700 (also a favourite of dutch lo-fi house master Legowelt) Arovane a long time stalwart of the acclaimed City Centre Offices imprint explains: "Everything started with a detail in an interview with Joe that grabbed my attention. I spotted a QY700 sequencer from yamaha on one photo. I used this piece of gear for decades to sequence all of my hardware and to produce my music. It's part of my trademark sound of rhythm programming."One of the factors that makes the QY700 beloved is it's ability to change parameters in realtime to shuffle, shift, expand or compress the timing of each pattern independently. It's touch can be felt throughout the oscillating rhythmic figures that wend through the gauzy pads and drifting melodies."We share the same wavelength when it come to breakbeats, musical taste and melodies,' Arovane continues 'This EP is the beginning of something special!"

After a brief time away from releasing music in 2017 to refresh his ears, essential house artist Argy is back with a bang in 2018, as this debut EP on Play It Say It proves.
Greek DJ and producer Argy has been a prolific talent over the last decade plus, releasing a variety of sounds under a number of different aliases. His given name has always been reserved for house and techno, which is classically informed but always infused with the sound of the future. It's come on key labels like Bedrock, BPitch, Ibadan, and most recently The Martinez Brothers' Cuttin' Headz imprint, and has spawned four fantastic full lengths. Those releases, along with his storytelling DJ sets, have made the These Days label boss a much loved and ever-present part of the global underground scene.
The excellent title track 'The Way of Kings' opens up the EP with seven standout minutes of surging house. Slick, powerful kicks drive it along as expertly crafted synths bring real drama and tension up top. It's a tasteful bit of hi-tech soul for the peak of the night and is as essential as the title suggests.
Switching up the mood is the vibrant 'Los Animales', which has a busier, afro tinged groove and tribal percussive energy. Lithe synths dart about to add dynamism and movement as vocal chants get you on your toes and the whole thing is sure to make a huge impact in the club.
Last of all, 'Move Like A Panther' featuring the New Yorker in Berlin, Elbee Bad, shows another side to Argy. It's a perfectly raw house cut with plenty of jacking Chicago spirit. The drums hit hard, the synths are trippy and the snares force you to move. Add in a dark bassline and spoken word mantras and you have a real piece of explosive club dynamite.
These are three typically inventive and well-executed tracks from Argy that are stuffed with original ideas.

For the 11th release 7777 presents the Ghost Miners Remixes. For these remixes I offered each producer samples from different songs from the 2 Ghost Miners records. Instead of doing straight forward remixes of a single song, I put forth the proposal for each artist to make their own version of a Ghost Miners song from scratch or using any samples they feel like. Contributors include 3 of my favorite producers. 2 in demand artists, FIT Siegel and Andreas Gehm and one new comer, Brian Thrash. Andreas Gehm's version is a standard acid Gehm gem. Calling in the chords from the originals mixed with standard Gehm acid brilliance. In FIT Siegel's version you'll find the perfect pure underground dance sound. Featuring Ray-7 on hand drums FIT constructs a remix that combines elements of classic Detroit and Chicago sound while keeping the attitude and acid aesthetic of the original material. On the B side Brian Thrash, controlling his analogue arsenal, takes you on an epic acid journey traversing through the underground and space. Thank you for your time. - Jared Wilson

Following on from the release of FBA21 Collected Works 1996 -2017, which was released November 2017 Matthew Puffett decided to wrap up the project, with a handpicked selection of artists to remix key tracks from the compilation. Amongst these figures are some significant influences on Puffett`s early years The set includes Kirk Degiorgio, whose reworking of 'Cross Dissolve' reimagines the track in full machine mode, serving up a slab of driving techno for the main room. A fan since the early 90s, Kirk and Matt have been in contact over the years, culminating to this powerful re-creation. Steven Rutter (B12) has also reworked 'Cross Dissolve', but in contrast to Degiorgio, Rutter's mix brings out an almost abstracted, ambient mood, a characteristically expressive and textured piece from one of the leading figures in UK electronica. Hardway Bros, Sean Johnston (Andy Weatherall's partner in 'A Love From Outer Space) tackles 'Mourning', a piece of melancholic euphoria. In typical Johnston style, Sean slows it all down, bringing it to a mid-tempo Balearic vibe. A big influence on Matthew in the 1990s, Lee Grainge used to work at the infamous Fat Cat records. A renowned arbiter of sounds, Grainge turned Matt onto countless records from Detroit and beyond, which was crucial in shaping FBA's sound. Here, he remixes 'Diagram', in a manner reminiscent of classic dub techno, Basic Channel. Another influence on FBA's sound is former Eevo Lute Muzique boss from Eindhoven, Stefan Robbers. FBA recorded a mini album for EevoNext in 2009, and the pair team up again here to reinvent 'Machines Can Help'.
Out-ER sub-label Pregnant Void is proud to announce the release of hi.mo's debut album Urtiis. Landing on double vinyl in June 2018, it is a fantastically absorbing showcase of the Italian's weird and wonderful fusion of various strains of sound from jazz to hip hop to classical. "The alteration of conventional musical patterns thrills me," says the artist who is classically trained in piano and uses that knowledge to play with rules, structures and forms. Influenced by IDM, African drums, jazz and the interplay of chords, rhythm and harmony, hi.mo infuses his electro-acoustic productions with found sound samples and analogue and digital tools. This is a spelling-binding and intimate album that is filled with invention, but never at the expense of the overall experience, which is beautiful and beguiling throughout.

'Turquoise', that is Turkuvaz, is a French-origin word inspired by the color of the Mediterranean, located within the borders of Turkey. Meaning; blue is the color that plays the green. At the same time it is relative. Because both colors are in it, if you love blue you will see blue, if you love green you will see it green. It means heaven and earth. The eternity is turquoise... The eternity is infinite. At the same time; the boundary between the earth and the sky. Some will find love in it , some will find serenity, some will remember the loneliness and find sadness, embracing some with zeal and reminiscent of the return to the nest, the power of holding hands tightly with two hands. And according to my opinion, the concept of life, the mortal world, is how we see these lands curtained until the last breath of life that we have been living on for centuries. There are billions of beings in our sky and on Earth that do not attract our attention, We can not see, can not hear, can only feel, there are enough lights to count and never disappear in the stage. This EP that you hold in your hand is a reflection of it.
Music was the easiest way to reach you. In doing so, the motto was 'never disappearing at the stage'. I know, because if nobody hears me, God, the real dominion of light the true owner of all the darkness will hear me.
Each sound I created, I filled it with a light and I added a little more sand to the clock. Sounds I created is to show you your own technique of finding your way to light, to make you understand that you are not alone, and that there is someplace really there for you. Without much effort, resting and reviving.
I believe that every one of us who lives on earth has a specific, holy purpose. The important thing is to find and catch it. Our inner journey is to be able to complete our enlightenment as spiritually as possible. And I still believe that we always need music to do that. Because the sounds; they will never disappear.
Turquoise, which is the work of this enlightenment period, which I have lived and found to be my self, will be a source of light for you and help you find God who lives in you.
A past affiliate of Richie Hawtin's Minus label, Berlin-based expat Kevin McHugh (aka Ambivalent) joins the ranks at CPU under his more recent alter ego of LA-4A.
McHugh launched his own Delft imprint in 2013, which saw the birth of LA-4A, initially an anonymous production handle.
On Slackline, McHugh delivers 4 tracks of uncompromising techno: you'll find interwoven breaks and refined sampling, and as the track entitled Punishment clearly suggests, only the hardiest of techno fans will survive it's onslaught.

-We are Generation Acid - Steve Lawler, a child of the acid house generation, has been busy with the beats long before genres were but a twinkle in clublands eye. Since the early days of electronic music, he was pushing limits musically and as performing artist. Many years passed since, but the VIVa Music founder still keeps that spirit alive. With his first release on 8bit records, Steve Lawler once more demonstrates his exceptional talent, as he merges past and present into timeless pieces of dance music.
