THE ARTIST

MATTEO SPEDICATI could have been a rock star if he had been born decades ago in California.

He is a producer that combines elements of pop/rock with electronic music in a very chaotic and imperfect way. He is very authentic in his creative process and the results are authentic, too. Matteo is a composer, guitarist, producer and a fantastic DJ.

He convinced us with his work (and his chaos) that he needed us and that we needed a little bit of chaos in this time of calm. Now he is part of our roster (also for bookings and management of NOON ARTISTS worldwide).

Cesar was part of NOON when our label was only an idea. We always knew he would fit in at NOON. We asked him to give us his version of SIMPLE THINGS because we were hoping that he would take us on a splendid journey through the little things, because we knew that he was going to recreate these SIMPLE THINGS and make them more profound, complex, and beautiful.




REBOOT

It has become tradition to have Reboot himself welcome our new talent and remix one of their songs. In this case the remix is very faithful to the original version, but it makes us dance with the Reboot sound that is so characteristic of and essential to our label. What more can we say about Reboot

Concept is the new baby established by the already international well known artist agency My Favourite Freaks, which consists of a four part and monthly released series starting in December 2015. All tracks will be out on vinyl and only for real and freaky club boyz and party girlz. International celebrated artists of the agency collaborated to create such a big collector's item.

And it's about time to celebrate the release of the second CONCEPT. EP, which is a four track techno and tech house vinyl straight for the clubs.

AFFKTs title Pied Piper is number one on the list, a spherical and even slower techno track, which is driven by a vintage like arpeggio synth. This catchy line leads to a huge breakdown with an explosive drop. To complete the track, AFFKT adds a fantastic groove, which needs to be played on a DJs playground.

Sayteks mix of his - Build And Drop shows a housier version of minimal techno. Detroit chords combined with four to the floor beats and a lot of delay effects, are a guarantor for a hands up moment in a club. The arrangement is very oldschool and more like a DJ tool. It should be your weapon of choice to get all freaks to the dance floor!

The 909 beats are very typical for the first track of the B-side, which is made by Macromism. A very groovy sub bassline lets your head wiggle, while a rap vocal sample drills in your head like a machine. Very minimalistic, but absolutely effective - this is what the freaks want!

Starting with a groovy beat, Timid Boy finalizes the fantastic second four tracker with his title - The Cops After Me . It is made of male vocal rhyme cuts and a filtered synth lead, which should remind us of police sirens. But don't be scared, all freaks should run - straight to the floor!

Louis Haiman returns to Indigo Aera with The Cosmic Memory EP, which features two originals as well as a remix by Berghain heavyweight Marcel Dettmann.

Haiman, who is also known for his output on Transmat and Abstract Forms, last released on Indigo Aera in 2012 with the highly acclaimed techno 2LP called Soul Purpose. In the past years Louis established himself as a producer with the ability to create avantgarde futuristic techno in classical Detroit roots.

His first single here is 'How Free Am I', and is eight delicate minutes of floating ambience and subtle, stripped back rhythm. It's all in the bassline at first, after pixel thin synths float in like fireflies before static crackle and soft percussions flesh out the heavenly sound world. Soothing and absorbing throughout, it becomes a forceful and high pressure bit of techno in the hands of Marcel Detmann who layers in solid kicks and clacking hits to drive things along. 'Hidden Knowledge' is then a slithering bit of atmospheric electro with rumbling synths and pads suspending you in deep space. It rounds out a captivating EP.

Moon Harbour is delighted to announce the Autumn 2016 release of Momentum, the second full length album from label boss Matthias Tanzmann. Arriving eight years after his debut LP Restless, the outstanding follow-up impressively demonstrates that his artistic restlessness has not been decreasing over the last couple of years. On the contrary, Momentum undoubtedly proves once more that Matthias' impact on the scene is still steadily growing with an end not in sight and that his efforts to advance are ever moving forward.


Recent times have found Matthias having huge success via fruitful collaborations with the likes of Martin Buttrich, Davide Squillace and Daniel Stefanik, amongst others, but now back on his own and more energetic than ever, he is firing on all cylinders as a solo artist. Loosely rooted in a variety of house styles, Momentum shows a subtle return to some of Tanzmann's earliest musical roots. Just as Matthias declares himself, 'It is stuff to listen to at home, stuff I like to listen to away from the club', before adding that, 'of course, it also contains tracks that are 100% what I love playing in my DJ sets.'


The ten track release is an impulsive and emotionally moving affair that offers a fantastic snapshot into the current musical mind of the artist. With a process initially starting during his times abroad in Thailand and South America, this most coherent and complete album has been slowly coming together over the last five years. In customary manner, the album is quite different to a normal EP from the German producer, given that it features plenty of deeper and more cerebral moments than most of his past works.


With a perfect mixture between listening pleasure and pure dancefloor material, Momentum contains tracks ranging from deep and broody house style with warm pads streaming over infectious drums to serene and atmospheric jams with real funk in their bones. Next to more downtempo sultry house vibes, the harder, more freaky tunes will get floors bumping with their punchy drums, wiggling synths, drilling bass and loopy vocal sounds. With more soul infused party grooves rounding up the experience, the release truly brings along the whole range of carefully plotted ups and downs necessary for casting the listener under a hypnotic and heartfelt spell of house music.


The album will be celebrated with a worldwide release tour from October to December 2016, highlighting once more that only a few have the exact same sense of electronic music artistry as this man does.

A black, very black, vinyl record which stands out compared to previous releases on Limited. The sixth chapter of Andrea Belluzzi's label is titled Black Series because its objective is to devastate the ordinary lines of techno and let loose the dark black wings which are the base of the project. On side A, Mike Storm and TransientX4 lead us through a gradual scale of mysterious and mechanical loops capable of hypnotizing while increasing the level of pathos. This culminates the gradual build up to the third track, produced by Andrea Belluzzi, with a perfect balance between dark techno and ambient in a mental voyage which seems to never lose itself during the entire 7 minutes with the perfect energy for the dancefloor. The record ends with the work of Ken Karter which, although is strictly mental and super hypnotic, manages to offer a distinct danceable rhythm marked by low frequencies which remain slow but captivating with a wide array of sounds which grow without boring the listener.

Known for his more elegant and subtle atmospheric techno music though, Conforce is never afraid of deviating from his safe zone. Sometimes a change of environment can bring new musical influences and shine new light on existing musical projects. There is a small narrative about this release. Fresh from the success of last years critically acclaimed PT 1 EP, Leeds-born Samir Alikhanizadeh aka Happa, is gearing up for the hotly anticipated release of PT 2, a 3 track EP and the second in a series of releases on his own label PT 5.

Having first drawn attention with his tumbling remix of the Four Tet track Jupiters, it wasn't long before he was heralded by the likes of Radio 1's Mary Anne Hobbs, James Blake, Zed Bias and Skream, to name a few. Happa's love for electronic sounds is no more evident than on his latest offering; surging ahead at a faster pace than PT 1, with nods to EBM and industrial along the way. Opening track Blackberreh! marks a sideways move away from its predecessors. With spikey glitches, pitch-bending beats and extra melodic attention paid, the track plays out across a dark soundscape, creating an all-embracing big room noise. Catch-22 takes things further with abrasive beats and aphotic vocals giving it a brutal, industrial quality, and acts as the perfect showcase for Happa's wayward electronic tastes. Closing out the EP is Drag, a juggernaut of refracted beats, displaying admirable depth and a real techno assault.

If PT 1 was the product of a young artist refining his sound, PT 2 is the bass-heavy, hypnotic call to arms of an artist with enough raw talent and perseverance to create something truly astounding.

mr.intl present a tasty two tracker from Andy Butler, as he's joined by Seattle's DJ Nark for the debut of their Hexxy project, and runs solo on the flip with the mighty 'Bewm Chawqk'.

'This is a new project between myself and party maker, DJ Nark AKA Kevin Kauer, founder of Bottom Forty and Nark Magazine,' explains Andy Butler. 'On a recent tour of Europe Kevin made a pitstop in Brussels and I invited him into the studio. We share an unpredictability in our DJ sets, so we wanted to make a crossover track for DJs who aren't afraid to play disco in a set were techno can sit just as comfortably, taking conceptual cues from rough and hypnotic edits from masters like Ron Hardy. Meanwhile the flip is a fun take on acid disco with some samples that were on favorite records of mine in my teenage days.'

Andy Butler's mr.intl label is a home for 'personality' dance music from artists he meets on his world travels, and serves as a creative outlet for outside of his life in the pioneering Hercules & Love Affair project. Following the band's third album, 'The Feast of the Broken Heart' released to global critical acclaim last year, and Andy's solo singles 'You Can Shine' and 'Soldier' (with Ha-ze Factory), Hercules & Love Affair have also recently remixed the single 'Evil Eyes' by Roisin Murphy, toured the States and are currently working on a new fourth studio album.

Delft 002 welcomes another new name to the fold: it's been four long years since the last officially released original JPLS material but the wait was worth it, with the producer making his Delft debut with 'Fall Off Distance', an acid techno nuclear weapon that's been causing panic when dropped on isolated testing sites thus far. Label boss LA-4A subtly reshapes the original into a more streamlined techno monument on the B1, while longtime JPLS fans will be pleased to discover the producer at his weird & sinister best with the B2, 'Remove'.

Debut release on the new Kaleidoscope Jazz Chair Reissues label. First release contains some beautiful and well crafted dubbed out techno by Kit Clayton with his 1998 'Deadlock' tune originally released as the B2 on the 4-Track 'Unreliable Networks' EP (on Silent Servant's label 'Cytrax'), it slipped under many a record buyer's radar. Nearly 20 years later, now that electronic musical tastes have matured and expanded, the time seemed right to re-present, this lush, atmospheric, percussive work out to the heads, deservedly pressed on a full side of 12" Vinyl. Pussy Clap was originally released on the Remote label, set up by Charles Webster, and featured House music predominantly written by Charles and Neil Tolliday, better known as Nail. Jorge Felucca was the alias that Neil used when creating the more dubbed out, techy tracks for the label. Sounding somewhat like a deep house take on Maurizio, 'Pussy Clap' was also released in '98, but had since fallen into obscurity, and the time had come for it to be rejuvenated and polished with an amazing remaster by Pole for the modern ear that is a dramatic improvement on the original.

With Human Energy, Travis Stewart (aka Machinedrum) has made a career-defining album, one which will take him from best-keptsecret of the electronic music cognoscenti to breakout star of the US music scene. Written between January and April 2016, the record "reflects a period of great change in my life. I moved across the country to a new city, I proposed to the girl of my dreams, I moved into a new house, bought a brand new computer and set off to write a new album."

From opener "Lapis," Machinedrum sets out his stall - an arpeggio ascending to heaven which, apparently building towards the mother of all drops, instead fades up and off into the ether. The music throughout is scintillating, from the mind-candy riffs of "White Crown" (featuring some crazy guitar work from Tosin Abasi of progresive metal band Animals As Leaders), the ecstatic d&b finale of "Do It 4 U" (an absolute stand-out with showstopper vox from singer-of-the-moment DAWN), the smile-inducing, melodic brilliance of "Color Communicator," or the precision and build of first single "Dos Puertas," featuring Rihanna collaborator Kevin Hussein. Hussein, DAWN and Abasi aren't the only collaborators to have bought into this new take on the Machinedrum universe. Fresh off the back of two prominent collabs on Beyonce's Lemonade, MeLo-X offers understated, classy assistance on the wonderful "Angel Speak," sitting his voice in amongst heavenly vocal chops. Jesse Boykins III offers a moment of astral r&b goodness on "Celestial Levels." Rochelle Jordan provides the lift off as Machinedrum works the rhythm flips on "Tell U." There are telling contributions, too, from Ruckazoid, Roses Gabore and SK Simeon.

On its sophomore release, RAAR's bold mission of unbridled techno with a punk-rock ethos is continued in tracks from label co-founder Maelstrom and newest family member, Specialivery.
'Opium Wars' sets a seething tone, deftly holding a line of tension as machines moan and shriek. Focused yet dissonant, the discomfort continues to build without resolution, playing the edge but never grasping hold . 'Diameter of Recess' starts under the skin in Maelstrom's typified controlled chaos. As it grows, the track becomes both an aching roar and a needle-sharp, frenzied insistence; a feral yearning and a frustrated surrender.
Swiss Italian Carlo Bernasconi is a man of many aliases, the most ferocious of which is Specialivery. Having eagerly taken up the challenge to 'push further' than the original demos sent, 'Dust Detector Subsystem' is a demonstration of this, cumulating in "an extremely rare, compulsive mental movement" presented in both teeth-bared, club-optimized and more pensive beatless versions.
It is with great pride and pleasure that we present the evolution of RAAR. It is our greatest hope that this work inspires and liberates its listeners.

The Italian mastermind behind the famous Sonntag Morgen records joins forces with the abstract animal zoo and delivers four uncompromising techno tools with that special peak time attitude. The EP starts with the slightly acidic bass line monster "Marmo" and let you come down a bit with the reduced title track "Dreamers".

On the flip side MTD invites you into his personal techno basement, closes the door and let the "Stormclap"s break loose. After that you can feel the broken energy in "Rituals" on B2.

Fünf Jahre nach seinem letzten Album kehrt Luke Slater als Planetary Assault Systems und dem neuen Langspieler Arc Angel zurück zu Ostgut Ton.
Auch nach 22 Lichtjahren erforscht Luke Slaters Planetary Assault Systems Raum und Zeit mit unterschiedlichen musikalischen Mitteln. Dem Leitbild des Projekts treu bleibend ergänzt Slater: - Musik muss sich für mich vorwärts bewegen. Ich würde mich selbst betrügen, würde ich auf erprobte und bewährte Formeln zurückgreifen. Für die gibt es gute Gründe, aber dieses Album folgt seiner eigenen Agenda. Mit Arc Angel bricht Planetary Assault Systems zu neuen musikalischen Grenzen auf, fokussiert sich auf Melodien, bleibt aber gleichzeitig in den puristischen Werten von Techno verwurzelt, die Slater selbst im Laufe seiner dekaden- und generationenübergreifenden Karriere mit definiert hat.
Während der Albumtitel wie eine Referenz an spirituelle Dinge daherkommen mag, verweist er eher auf weltliche Dinge - Religiosität ist schließlich ein Relikt der Vergangenheit. Arc Angel ist in erster Linie ein postmodernes, nonkonformistisches
Technoalbum, das Clubkontexte ebenso bedient wie Zugänglichkeit mit neuen melodischen Mitteln. Langjährige Slater-Hörer werden mit Arc Angel schnell warm werden, wobei die LP gleichzeitig den Raum für neue Hörer aufmacht. In der
Tradition von Slaters vorangegangenen Ostgut Ton-Alben - The Messenger (2011) und Temporary Suspension (2009) - versprühen seine musikalischen Motive polymorphe und außerweltliche Klänge, verwenden eine zeitgemäße instrumentale
Sprache, legen aber eine stärkere Betonung auf zugängliche musikalische Formulierungen. Bei diesem Album ging es sehr um Limitierung und um den Schwerpunkt auf den Begriff alternativer Melodien , sagt Slater.
Ich liebe Musik, die zu Neuem führt. Alle Stücke dieses Albums mussten diesen Test bestehen. Gleichzeitig wollte ich das Fundament dessen, was ich als Techno ansehe, neu verwurzeln und mich auf Melodien konzentrieren, statt einen Track nur

Wie man einen großen, starken Beat baut, haben wir alle begriffen, meine ich. Ich möchte die Dinge aber gerne etwas voranbringen, nicht der Einfachheit halber abstrakter werden.

Ungeachtet der musikalischen Vielfalt mussten alle Geräte auf einen kleinen Tisch passen. - Ich liebe Software, Hardware, Technologie, aber weil wir eine fast endlose Auswahl an klangerzeugenden Mitteln haben, trieb es mich nun dazu, mich auf jedem Stück mit begrenztem und limitierten Equipment auszudrücken. Tatsächlich war ein Einfluss die Art, wie ein Blues-Musiker ursprünglich eine alte Gitarre und eine Stompbox verwendet hätte, trotzdem aber sehr organische und beseelte Musik damit spielte. Der hat seine Gitarre, die Box und seine Stimme - Ich habe die 909 und 808, das waren seit jeher die wichtigsten Antriebe von Planetary Assault Systems. Das
Schreiben des Albums war entkoppelt von der späteren Produktion und dem Mixing in Slaters Studio @ Spacestation Ø, UK - was ein reduzierteres und flexibleres Setup zuließ und auch noch zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt Änderungen einzelner Teile ohne übergreifende Eingriffe möglich machte.

Während die zwanzig Albumstücke in gut 96 Minuten digital als Einzelstücke erhältlich sein werden, wird es Arc Angel auch als mixed 3-fach LP und Doppel-CD und auch als continuous Mix geben - was einerseits der intendierten Wahrnehmung
des Albums als auch Slaters Ethos als DJ Rechnung trägt: einen Ritt durch einen sich stetig wandelnden Moment nehmen.

The original Ice Fractions 1 EP arrived on Plus 8 Records when Richie Hawtin & John Aquqaviva's legendary label was at the height of its powers, and showcased a tougher edge to Pooley's productions. Two decades later Pooley is still maintaining his high standards, revisiting and updating past work in the form of reissues & remixes and issuing fresh original material such as his recent Turakina EP on Pooledmusic and the return of Silvershower last year. which marked Montage's launch This new edition of the first Ice Fractions 12 supplies the two original lead tracks and an updated 2016 remix of each by Pooley himself, satisfying both those aiming for the vintage 1996 techno sound, and those looking for a punchy update for modern techno cathedrals.

Annie dedicates this E.P. to women in science (Marie Curie, Lise Meitner, Elizabeth Arden and Caroline Herschel) when tenured positions for women working in the field were extremely rare. Although the tracks appear to be straight from the science lab, don't let that fool you as each track is brimming with laid back computer funk with subtle melodies that keep you hooked.

ON and ON the Amsterdam based artist and events agency recently launched their
new musical venture ON Records with an ep from Jeff Rushin & Nicole Rosie. 001
received a wealth of warm support and today ON returns with its new release from
fellow Dutch artists, Doka & SHLTR.
For 002 ON takes a trip to the south of the Netherlands (via Amsterdam). Doka is a
name on the on rise. His uncompromising, relentless productions has already seen
release on Wolfksuil and Android Muziq and he a regular on the Dutch techno
circuit.
Dub techno is the first love of SHLTR and his own production style also touches on
ambient and electronica. Together the pair form an impressive partnership, melding
their sounds and styles in perfect harmony to create two stunning original tracks in
Skarn and Sovite.
Keeping it Dutch, ON welcome Darko Esser in his TRIPEO guise on the remix of
Skarn. The Wolfskuil and Balans boss has been blazing a trail with his ltd vinyl only

'Iyewaye', Oliver Koletzki's first release after the autobiographical I AM OK album, introduced a new facet of the artist's sound. The EP catered to a darker and more raw aesthetic, a direction followed and deepened by the four remixes. Loosely centered around the initial vocals, Loco & Jam's makeover explores the track's captivating snappy narrative. Kevin McHugh returns to his Delft imprint as LA-4A for his & the label's first artist album. Phonautograph represents an artist album in its purest sense: a deeply personal work that feels like the culmination of a lifetime of passion and experience - one that ebbs and flows across a variety of styles and tempos, from the electrifying acid house and electro of 'Resistor', 'Capacitance' and 'Dialup' to slower tempo ambient and experimental excursions such as 'Frequenzvariabler', 'Blitzlicht' and 'Semantron'.

For its seventh release, Baud delves into deep techno territory, courtesy of Munich-based producer LaChriz. With previous releases on Dario and Marco Zenker's Illian Tape and on Woods 'N Bass and Outelectronic Recordings, LaChriz has been honing his craft, producing straightforward techno music with an edge, an often sublimated dub techno influence and an ambient feel.
His first E.P. for Baud features the voraciously clubby 'Nothing Goes To Waste', an undeniable dancefloor monster that starts swirling around itself with its hypnotic chords and a subtle melodic counterpoint. From thereon after, LaChriz takes a more introspective route, delivering three tracks that capture the melancholy and abstraction of the late night. Rhythmically trickier and melodically more layered, they give this record its balanced feel without detaching it from adventurous dancefloors. Baud 07 is a techno release at heart and as such has a classic techno edge. Its classy production and smart programming propel it into the future.

BT14 brings back Pip Williams & Koova along with Simon Lynch as London Modular Alliance for Out of Sync. Between them they have released records for Abstract Forms, CPU and A.R.T. among others.

Across 5 tracks they bring together a wide range of influences from electro, bass & techno to create their own unique sound. Opening the EP De-Orbit_118 is a beatless excursion into space before crashing back down to earth with the deranged The Mind is a Terrible Thing. Closing the A side, Tinker matches sombre pads with squelchy intricacies. On the flip Their Discontent grooves and trips out while closing track Out of Sync offers an even deeper variation of opener De-Orbit_118.

Perc Trax is proud to welcome the Serbian / Italian duo of Scalameriya and VSK to its ranks. The Perc Trax Ltd imprint is the most dance floor focused of Perc Trax's three labels and 'Haka' fits the bill perfectly. Already a key track in Perc's sets for a long time, it has provided many a memorable moment at his larger festival gigs and follows up a similarly powerful EP by the pair on Bintus' infamous Power Vacuum label.

Delivering the B1 remix is Mord main man Bas Mooy, who returns to Perc Trax for the first time since his 'Room At The End' EP back in 2012. Bas transforms 'Haka' into a driving heads down rhythm track, removing some of the more extravagant touches of the original mix without losing any of its energy.

Billy Nasty's Electrix Records introduces a new series entitled 'Electrix Shox'. Volume 1, released in December features new Electro tracks by The Advent and Mazzula.

The Advent (Cisco Ferreira) has built a mammoth career since the late 80s and become a luminary of the Techno scene, but what's perhaps less known is his love of old school Electro. Those who happened upon him at this year's Bloc Weekend will be able to testify to this fact and it's certainly not the first time he's used his production talents to create the sound, having released his 'Light Years Away' album on Electrix back in 2003. Now he returns to the label with two new blistering tracks, the beautifully Kraftwerkesque 'Eurodynamic', which is a collaboration with his son, Zein (proving the apple doesn't fall far from the tree!) and the darker, bass-driven 'Diverse Scope'.

Mazzula may be a new name for some people, but he certainly stands his ground here. This Stoke-on-Trent resident has been on a musical journey since an early age when he first heard the likes of Ultravox and synth pop, then discovering House in the 90s, and while the rave scene which followed left him unsatisfied, the early sounds of Techno (though hard to find in his area) eventually brought him to his spiritual home of Electro. Influenced by the likes of Aux 88, DJ Stingray and Paul Blackford, his tracks have gained support from some mighty names in the trade, like Dave Clarke who's played tracks on his famous White Noise radio show. Mazzula's two tracks for the vinyl release are the stabbing delights of 'Carl Craig Always Did' and the sputtering drive of 'Doors'...

Albert van Abbe has truly gained momentum this year with his new self-titled label VANABBE, a successful Berghain live debut as well as releases on Shipwrec and now Trolldans. And you can tell! This Trolldans release is filled with confidence and lucidity. The term Ostinato refers to a continuously repeated musical pattern. It's usually used in reference to classical music, but is well suited here. This Ostinato, this stubbornness, gives the music a sense of pace and propulsion. Yet - as ever with Trolldans - there is a kind of melancholy present too. But it's a kind of melancholy that gives one strength rather than tears; a melancholy that makes your jaws clench in resolution. Look at John Bauer's ancient Mountain King on the cover. He has been dwelling there on the top of the mountain for so long that he himself has become part of it. His back is bent and his eyes are dim. But the air is changing; it's getting clearer and crisper and alluring melodic fragments are floating through it, reaching the King's overgrown ears. Suddenly for the first time for many decades he is overwhelmed by the impulse of standing up. The forest itself senses the King's intentions and starts pulsating with rhythms, urging him on. He grips the mountain side with his giant hands and raises his head, breathing deeply. It is time. This sense of determination and clarity is what Albert Van Abbe manages to convey with this Trolldans release. The Mountain King was moved by Ostinato. As should you.

German producer Array Access has been making beats since 2010. His latest piece of work, a beautiful four-track EP entitled 'Variations', is scheduled for release on a new label, Ressort Imprint.

'Variations' consists of two tracks, two remixes and a hard-hitting bonus track.

The two original tracks entitled 'Variations' illustrate this young producer's passion from the very first minute and take us on a cruise through rough beats while floating on airy synthesizer sounds at the same time.

Additionally to that, the remixers did their best to keep the beauty vivid. The Swedish producer Evigt Morker stays true to his style and serves an interpretation fitting foggy clubs and misty forests alike while Eomac defends his reputation as being one of the most interesting artists these days with a take that is deeply anchored in modern electronica.

* Blessed Initiative is a project by Yair Elazar Glotman, which suggests a dissonant, coexistent state of extreme highs and lows. The album attempts to articulate a mental state of simultaneity, in which equilibrium is fleeting, fragile, and its scarcity is embraced. Opposite states coincide, contrast and reflect, creating moments of uncertainty and insecurity. Absurdity and at times even bliss are possible results, in the attempt to channel anxiety into creative forces rather than debilitating ones. In an environment where personas are the sums of the images they project, sounds are also no longer evidence of invention but of ever-changing combination, curation, and editing. The final persona is a sum of the chosen and the deleted, as well as what may be projected from outside, creating a confusing and conflicted self. The sounds collected here are attempts to compose on these uncertain grounds, and to reflect the anxiety released in all these sources' meeting and interaction. As a singular project, Blessed Initiative stops to comment on the conditions that inform Glotman's composition before and after it, and to acknowledge it as a non-linear, ongoing process.

* The focus on process and uncertainty is apparent in the album's phrasing, re-articulation and cycles of repetition and deviation. The pieces were composed from sounds generated on the KYMA system, personal foley recordings as well as tape manipulations techniques. Minor sounds on major scales and micro-tonal tuning suggest an ambiguous harmonic sphere. These were then integrated within idiosyncratic rhythmic structures, at times integrating real spaces and resonating bodies as reverb and augmented echo chambers. Concrete, almost-recognizable organic sounds contrast with these abstract spaces and connect them to tactile experiences. These textures and structures are a palette that reforms and deforms as it cycles throughout the album.

* The photographic series "Relax (blue)", 2004, by the artist Josephine Pryde was chosen for the album's cover as a materialization of tension. The two images represent a closed cycle of energy and unfulfilled release.

* Yair Elazar Glotman is a classically trained musician and sound artist based in Berlin whose previous works on Subtext include the LP 'Études' and a collaboration with James Ginzburg titled Nimbes.

Berlin-based producer Lapien serves up an atmospheric three tracker on Radio Slave's Rekids.
Also known as Metropolis or one half of Artefakt, Nick Lapien's last three releases have landed on Finale Sessions, Fred P's Soul People Music and DVS1's Mistress Recordings. Releasing on Rekids, the multifaceted Dutch artist's next outing features three mesmerising cuts with the dusky 'A Change Is Gonna Come' initiating the package using infectious hats, subtle sub-bass and an indistinguishable vocal that ebbs subtly in and out of the mix.
'As It Is' is the most robust number on the package with its undulating percussion and moody chords taking centre stage, until 'Vexed' concludes everything with gloomy pads, shuffling hats and echoing effects.

The story of Turmfalke continues, this time featuring Helly Larson with a great dub flavoured track called "Rescue Me" programmed in a deep downtempo manner and acompannied by an acidish remix of Matthias Springer. The original of Matthias comes based on detroit elements and a gentle 303 string while Helly's remix made it into a synthesis of deep techhouse and directly into the playlist of Mr. Hawtin!

Oliver Deutschmann is a producer that needs no introduction. Over the last 15 years, his reputation as a producer and DJ has seen continued growth down to, quite simply, his pure passion, diverse track selection and an unambiguous mixing ability.

He has lit up both rooms of world-renowned clubbing institute, Berghain, where he has played dozens of times since first playing there almost ten years ago. Whilst keeping up with this kind of extensive touring schedule, and being heavily invested in his own productions, the Berlin based artist also finds the time to take the helm of four imprints: Vidab, Falkplatz, Slim Audio and the vinyl only imprint GKNSTR.

Beyond his own labels though he has released on Soma, Aim, Etruria Beat, Mobilee, and now returns to Swiss imprint, Caduceus, following his Breakdown EP last year.

In a recent interview with Inverted Audio, Deutschmann summed up his clear, dancefloor focussed approach which can be heard on Flangers, stating I don't really care about any achievement. They (the tracks) have to rock the floor and be timeless. This new EP sets that straight right away, laying out the agenda for what is to follow.

Flangers opens with the dark, gravelly, brooding, and heads down techno of the title track - a lengthy, spacious workout which manages still to cut a deep groove despite it's direct driving force. Similarly, 'Beast' paces itself, slowly unfolding all of its treasures as it grows, swells and shapeshifts over the course of just over five minutes of sustained tension.

On the flip, two heavyweight producers step up to the remix: Germany's Markus Suckut and Dutch producer, Jeroen Search. Suckut's interpretation of Flangers keeps much of the understated groove and tension of the original whilst dipping it in a more shrouded cloak of murky techno. Jeroen Search on the other hand pitches up the pace with a crisp, high-hat driven dive into the deep.

Celebrating 10 years as a label, Rekids founder Radio Slave delivers a mesmerizing production with a remix from Ostgut Ton's Marcel Dettmann.
Since its birth in 2006 Matt Edwards' Rekids has played host to some of today's most renowned names in house and techno, including the likes of Nina Kraviz, Roman Flu¨gel, Shed and Mr. G. With releases on the likes of R&S and Running Back, Radio Slave is one of the world's finest producers, whose dance-floor focused cuts earned him the title of Resident Advisor's most charted artist of 2015.
Radio Slave's 'Vision' is a dusky number possessing popping kicks and ebbing pads that meander forward as a murky voice proclaims the track title. Meanwhile, Marcel Dettmann's remix distorts the original whilst emphasising the low-end to give it a dark and ominous aesthetic.

The Sixth Release on Alan Fitzpatrick's Explore, Search and Discover label. Alan Fitzpatrick recruits fellow Southampton talent Rhymos, to provide the soundtrack on this techno heavy release.

The London based label launched back in spring with a real statement piece, composed of detailed minimal, late night seductive twinkles and a drone styled techno piece. The labels projected thought process for the future is to navigate through a varied soundscape of deeper excursions and thoughtful techno. This second EP with two originals from Frazer, also includes a remix from highly Respected UK musician Tom Ellis who increases the heat on the track 'light' with a energetic but thoughtful techno re work.

The intensity of Neznan his personality and talent made us decide to go all the way for this release. His story is remarkable and feels like a paradox. His musical ability is full of details and his creativity is a perfect match with Float. Shelter is our latest release from Clint Stewart and it's a benchmark in the catalog as it's the first time any of our releases have included a remix. And, for that remix, we showed no restraint, commissioning our very own, man of the hour, Stephan Hinz. As you dive into the first cut off the EP, 'Shelter', you instantly begin to take an excursion into the ethereal. Shimmers of distant audible light flicker in the backdrop as a hypnotic pulse tightens its grip, strapping you in for a trip deep into celestial territory. Long single blasts of deep bass and racing percussion thrust you further into the void until you're far from your point of origin. 'Shelter' is a journey into the vast, ever expanding reaches of impassioned sonics ideal for deeper dance floor antics.
On the flip is 'L714' and much like 'Shelter' it's a cosmic ride, but differs in the fact that it is exceedingly relentless. Eery string like tones and massive low end bursts set the stage for a narcotic, swirling lead that parallels a comet hurtling through the ether. Bits of it falling apart and leaving a visible tail of particles in it's wake creating the ideal flip to 'Shelter'. Where both originals may have left something to be desired for those who want it heavy, Stephan Hinz fills that void. While staying undeniably true to the original 'L714', he adds only what he felt was missing. Taking the original to new heights with colossal drums and tension displayed with the arrangement of a cinematic masterpiece derived from another world. Overall, the 'Shelter Ep' is a complete package, hitting all emotions and leaving nothing to be desired no matter the time or situation.

* Blackwater is honoured and proud to present a very special release, in our production catalogue number as 'BWL000', released digitally and on vinyl in a very limited edition. A single side EP with a screen-print on the reverse with a suggestive image of the sea of 'Capalbio', a town intimately connected with the rise of Blackwater Society.

* The EP will be initially presented at the 2016 edition of the FLUSSI FESTIVAL where Blackwater began its music journey two years ago starting right from 'Capalbio' and starting musically from that first piece 'Il Mare Di Capalbio' produced by Devianza owner of the label,who made this as homage for FLUSSI. 'Il Mare Di Capalbio' finally will see the light, being pressed on vinyl support exactly in the same month, in the same festival together with the same people that represent the soul of the label releasing the original track and the two different versions of artists PRG/M and Phorm organisers and curators of this fantastic electronic music festival that is considered one of the reference pin of the Italian underground scene.

* Devianza version is a slow, deep and sentimental piece that opens and closes with the sound sampling of the sea taken during the summer 2014. The piece was also written following the musical structure according to the Fibonacci pattern creating a particular rhythmic structure in the central part of the piece. Follows PRG / M version, tool track of high calibration and invoice, definitely more suited to the dance floor for a set with hypnotic and deep veins. Closes the EP Phorm with his experimental version, an high quality production, as usual for him on Blackwater, that put the hat on top of the entire EP giving a complete spectre of selection for the listener.

Back in 1996 the beloved and still active electronic music producer KHAN released his very debut album on the EMI-offspring Harvest, once home to legendary bands like Pink Floyd or Air Liquide, which crossed borders between psychedelic, well-hypnotic Armchair / Intelligent Techno, thrilling Electro, early Minimal- and DubTechno as well as tripping Acid.

Very few original pressings of this pioneering album have now been rediscovered in a lost box sitting in a dusty Berlin storage space and are now available again, 18 years after the albums initial release. A true contemporary document proving that quality electronic music never grows old and is able to stand the test of time.

Camea steps out of the shadows and heads towards Never where as her new imprint lands this Spring. The Seattle born-Berliner local first became known in 2005 when she started one of the minimal techno era's most illustrious labels, Clink Recordings. Now she comes forth with a new label that was inspired by her highly acclaimed Bpitch Control single of the same title, which she subsequently furthered with her monthly syndicate show, Never where Radio. NWR has had many guests contributing DJ mixes as well as her own, and has received a strong international following. For the first release, Camea has produced three elegant yet driving tracks showing her ever broadening sound. Most artists try to define themselves in one genre, but she feels most comfortable in the space in between them, and aims to focus the concept of Never where to be a place for just that. All things in between; less definition and more imagination. Her many years of production and DJ experience shine through on this EP, and defines her statement of who she is as an artist today.

DSC is enjoying its most productive year to date, and its not even half way through. Cliche Morph is a mysterious new entity, debuting with Liquid Materia. The title track melts streams of melody, chords dissolve in currents as a steady thump tries to tame the sonorous swash. Claudio PRC, of Prologue fame, interprets the tides of the original. Aquatic ambience floods speaker as sounds are kept below the waves in a dream state. "Impulse Inside Mechanism" pulls you further into the haunted machinery of Cliche Morph. Wraithlike harmonies ache, ghosting between steady percussion for a work of palpable emotion. That tactile quality comes to the fore with "Alternative Solution." Rhythms are given extra girth, bass lines given extra room as strings swim before they soar. First run on purple black marbled vinyl.

Soniculture continues its series of underground releases with tracks from famous artists that are on a secret mission.
