Phil Kieran - Skyhook Remixes
PKRV001
Phil Kieran Records
excl15.02.201215.FEB.12

TechnoElectroTechno

Techno King, Phil Kieran, is back once again this time he is concentrating on his debut Vinyl release on Phil Kieran Recording, with his vinyl re-release of his skyhook project.

His high productivity led him to look forward to the project he has been wanting to put to bed for a number of years - Skyhook. Skyhook gained support form the Techno Elite with Sven Vath & Richie Hawtin using it as a weapon of choice for a number of years other less likely supporters included Deadmau5 who has been using skyhook in his sets for years.

Originally no remixes of the chart smasher were made despite huge interest and requests from various people to rework the track, with the lack of a label to distribute them being cited as the main reason.

But finally, this demon was put to bed and the gauntlet was picked up by Jesper Dalhback & Adam Beyer, Ricardo Tobar, Scuba & SCB and Green Velvet.

Kieran says 'When you approach something like this you ask people to get involved and hope they do too, with this one I was amazed that everyone I wanted signed up, which made this very easy'.

These monster remixes of Skyhook rocket propelled the launch of Phil Kieran Recordings and also finally fulfilled the appetite of those who had been demanding its re-release for over three years.

Phil is one of the true sonic and beat geniuses out there today. I approached the remix the old school way...staying true to the original and beefing it up to make it a club banger

Green Velvet
Great to be working with such quality material from the start. every part of skyhook was usable and inspiring for the remix!

Jesper Dahlback

HouseElectronicaTechTechnoElectroTechno

For most labels catalogue number 10 is an occasion to make something special. And so it is for KILLEKILL. We have collected tracks from our regular label artists plus some guests who frequently play at our parties and therefore we consider being part of the KILLEKILL family. Besides resulting in an astonishing compilation, working on this project has been a great experience for us. All the great artists we work with and all the great music they gave us, made us realize that KILLEKILL has be- come what we always wanted it to be: a contact point for daring artists, a platform for good music of whatever style.
Following this idea our compilation features dark and epic experimental tracks by LAKKER, DADUB and BILL YOUNGMAN, electro stompers by DJ STINGRAY, RADIOACTIVE MAN and THE ALMOST PEOPLE, techno and acid beasts by FURFRIEND, J.T.C., CASSEGRAIN & TIN MAN, SNUFF CREW and NEIL LANDSTRUMM plus a breakbeat rave superhit by AFFIE YUSUF.
Last but not least the limited triple vinyl version comes with a beautiful poster of our amazing graphic designer and mate Flexn.

Aera - Silver & Black Ep
ALEPH005
ALEPH
12inch13.11.201213.NOV.12

HouseElectroVinyl OnlyTechno

12 Aleph05LTD Release : 09.11.2012 Special Remarks: Hand-stamped special edition limited to 285 pcs After hiding in the shadows for more than one year, Aera is finally back in business with the 'Silver & Black EP' on his own Aleph Music imprint. However, he was definitely not lazy in between. After releasing an EP on Circus Company alongside Marc Schneider, remixing Luomo aka Vladislav Delay, having his first singles remixed by Mano Le Tough, Area aka M50 and Wasted Gaze and finishing his first album which will see the light of day early 2013, it is about time for a new record. Mutating at the unusual speed of 149 BPM, 'Chevere' is an ever changing, sizzling beast of a track with snakelike twist and turns, thunderous drums and acid-drenched leads. 'Flipside Of Time' just builds and builds and builds. Take some classic Juno-strings, trademark Aera arpeggios, add some noise, a nasty kick-drum and some more noise, this is it. A twisted
anthem for the brave. After this kind of heavy onslaught, 'Die Pferden' takes the time to kick back a little and deliver something more conventional - at least in Aera's terms: built upon a chopped up, slightly skipping vinyl sample, an evolving, reverb bathed bass-line and some chunky drums. VINLY ONLY RELEASE!

Bintus - Point Counter Point
POWVAC003
Power Vacuum
12inch15.11.201215.NOV.12

TechnoElectro

The purple and chrome dune buggy lies abandoned like an upturned beetle. As if guided by an invisible beacon, Bintus treks through dense jungle and across cloud-capped mountains before he comes upon a ruined temple. Young women, their forearms covered with red parrot feathers and faces brightly coloured with vermilion dye, greet him warmly by placing garlands of roasted maize around his neck. Drawn on a hallucinatory wave, Bintus finds himself facing a high priest sat resplendent upon an azure throne, who gestures to the corner where a solid crystal harpsichord sits. While raising a chalice above his head he drones some dusty incantation before placing it on its ceremonial perch atop the instrument. Bintus sits down to play, his hands drawn across the glimmering keys guided by the unknowable force of the ancients. A phosphorescent mist pours over the brim of the black onyx chalice and rolls over the keyboard. Multi coloured light flows from the hall through cracks in the temple walls, strafing out across the moonlit jungle. Exotic birds of all colours and hues cut across the beams as they shoot into the star filled night, steered into the cosmos by his demented music, driving his captive revellers into the blackest beyond.

Early DJ support: Mark Broom, Truss, Surgeon, Edmx, Paul Woolford, Objekt, Dark Sky, Randomer, Ben UFO, Dj Glow, Fabrizio Mammarella, Locked Groove.

Feedback:

Locked Groove '...drexciya meets egyption lover on acid'
Paul Woolford '...delightfuly spannered'
Truss '..definately one of my favorite labels right now.'
Ben UFO '..love the release'
Randomer '..this is the best thing I got all month'

Tb / Marc Pinol - Hiverned # 2 10"
HVNED02
Hivern Discs
12inch14.11.201214.NOV.12

HouseSlowTechnoElectro

Following the great reception of 'Hiverned 01' here's the second installment of Hivern's edit series.
In the A Side, TB's 'Invitation To Love', a highly anticipated track that's finally released after becoming a fixture in John Talabot's sets. Based on Twin Peaks OST's 'Laura Palmer's Theme', the track rephrases Angelo Badalamenti's clas- sic from an acid house perspective. Adding analog rhythms and a crispy bassli- ne to the ethereal chords of the original composition, this refix manages to keep the dream-like atmospheres of the song while transforming it into dancefloor- ready groove. The idea is simple, the results are magic.
On the flip, Marc Pin~ol repeats appearance on the series revamping some lost australian minimal-wave track. In the vein of his previous 'Wheels' edit, the track conjures gloomy atmospheres and sparse rhythms with gritty synth melodies. On the top of it, the barcelonian producer adds dialogues from spanish cult art- house film 'Arrebato' (hence the title) multiplying the obscure ambience of the tune.

Once again, the release comes in a limited edition 10' wrapped in a handmade silk-screened sleeve. No digital and no-repress.

Hieroglyphic Being - Le Jardin Des Chemins Bifurquants
AUDIOMER008LP
AUDIOMER
12inch24.10.201224.OCT.12

HouseElectroElectronicaTechno

Le Jardin des Chemins Bifurquants is the first full length album of Chicago based electronic music artist, producer and DJ Jamal R. Moss. Educated by House legends Adonis and Steve Pointdexter, he's been following a singular musical path, producing a gritty futuristic meltdown of House, Free Jazz, New Age and Noise.
For this record, Jamal worked with the concept of plants having a religion, and the question of what their way of worship would look like. This resulted in a dark deep-space overture with raw synth stabs, extreme pitch-shifted textures and hypnotic tribal rhythms—somewhat reminiscent of Sun Ra's interstellar electric keyboard explorations. Le Jardin des Chemins Bifurquants is an unclassifiable tour de force that is oozing with profound cosmic meaning.
For the artwork we invited visual artist Robert Beatty (of Hair Police fame) whose work has graced the record sleeves of Burning Star Core, Family Battle Snake and Oneohtrix Point Never.

HouseElectroAcidTechno

The forthcoming release adds another notch to what s been an impressive and prolific year for Funkineven, closely following that all-conquering Fatima collaboration Phone Line'and the Funkinevil record produced with Kyle Hall. The two track on it make for a stylistic about-turn from the TV theme funk of the last Apron release (and artwork of the year contender) Chips & Sweets, Dracula is the kind of stuttering 303 acid jam FunkinEven is an expert of, reminiscent of the brilliant Rolands Jam, while Cha! is a loose-limbed slice of proto-techno which goes heavy on the unfiltered analogue bass, driven forward with lolloping drum machine beats. Released on red coloured vinyl, the look & sound for a perfect horror movie soundtrack !!!

The World Electronix series will be strictly limited to 4 x single press 12's with no re-issue. The first instalment of World Electronix aims to showcase the darker dance floor side of the genre. The series kicks off with Parisian resident Carl A Finlow AKA Silicon Scally who turns in a signature style machine tech roller reminiscent of his early SCSI-AV works. Unspecified Enemies - Multi Ordinal Tracking Unit
NMBRS22
Numbers
12inch25.10.201225.OCT.12

TechnoElectro

Numbers is proud to announce the re-issue of Multi Ordinal Tracking Unit by Unspecified Enemies, a secret weapon and personal favourite of ours since we first discovered it on the dancefloor of Club 69 and shelves of Rubadub in Glasgow at the turn of the century.

Originally released as a limited edition 12 on the Counter Attack label in 1999 (a time when generic, loopy techno was ruling the roost), Multi Ordinal Tracking Unit stood out as a rare example of a UK record that could match Underground Resistance and Robert Hood for sheer sonic militancy, groove and hard-edged funk.
Based around a sample of a Detroit proto-techno classic, it twists its source beyond all recognition, squeezing every drop of energy from its original source and from time to time revealing just enough to give you a brief clue of its provenance.Assembled by CiM and Louis Digital using little more than Amiga tracker software and a hardware compressor in a Forest Gate bedroom in 1998, the track became a mainstay in the sets of Underground Resistance DJs and DJ Bone (alongside many other Detroit DJs who simply couldn't believe that the track was conceived outside of their home city) as well as Surgeon, Rob Hall and Rubadub/Club 69's Martin McKay. The latter championed it early on and helped to establish it as something of an anthem in Glasgow. For this Numbers reissue, Multi Ordinal Tracking Unit has been remastered by the original cutting engineer, Christoph Grote-Beverborg at D&M, who has recreated the distinctive bite and crunch of the original release. It's packaged with the City of Quartz remix by Louis Digital, which fuses it with elements of associate Laszlo Kovacs' track Hostages For The Chase Manhattan and brings a new and updated dimension to the track.

Boys Noize - Out Of The Black
BNR090
Boysnoize Records
12inch10.10.201210.OCT.12

HouseElectroTechno

Alex Ridha—better known to the world as BOYS NOIZE—has been making electronic music and working as a DJ for over half of his life, which is no small feat considering that Ridha is currently only 29 years old. As a DJ, Ridha has established himself as one of the world's preeminent wizards behind the DJ decks, having played some of the world's biggest stages alongside some of the biggest names in dance music. As a recording artist and a producer, Ridha has created his own sound, and pioneered his own brand, amassing a formidable body of work in the process. He has released two albums (2007's Oi Oi Oi and 2009's Power) and countless singles as Boys Noize, as well as doing profoundly influential work as a remixer and a producer for everyone from Depeche Mode, Feist, Daft Punk to David Lynch and Jarvis Cocker. He has also collaborated extensively with Erol Alkan and Mr. Oizo (on a project called Handbraekes).
As for the title of his new record, Ridha explains that this music isn't coming from out of the blue. In fact, it's the opposite. 'I tend to make and produce music only at night,' he says. 'I also generally only perform at night, so this is music that's coming totally out of the black. Also, they say the color black can absorb all other colors, which is a cool way to think about making music. You absorb every other kind of music—every possible sound—and what comes out of you is something new, something out of the black.

It's about time The Exaltics and Koova appeared on Abstract Forms, and part three, the next instalment of the Combined series, is the perfect vehicle for the pair to showcase their talent. The Exaltics deliver a stealthy blow of three typically wonderful works, ranging from the menacing tension of 'Cold Lights', to the dark acid-techno of 'With The Lights Out', to the restrained electro shuffle of 'The Last Resort'. Flip over to where Koova operates, taking us on a journey from the deep atmospheres of 'Shift Register', to the mechanical electro rhythms of 'RTFM' and ending the EP with the wonderful clinical execution of 'Flux Tube'. Szare - Dust
MINDSET011
MINDSET
12inch16.10.201216.OCT.12

TechnoElectroTribalTechno

Anonymous production unit Szare return with three fresh cuts for Manchester's Mindset Records. Critically acclaimed releases for the equally shadowy Horizontal Ground imprint, Bristol's Idle Hands and the Berlin based Krill Music amongst others have seen Szare embed themselves firmly in the techno landscape, finding a receptive audience for their unique blend of bass heavy, tribal dissonance or in their own words, sounds that are ''Eerie, lazy and chewy''. Mindset's much feted music policy continues to encapsulate and offer an output to those pushing sonic boundaries, following no set pattern. The only solid reference point between releases is an omnipresent nod towards soundsystem culture and a recurrant love for sub-bass lines. Opener Dust is a forward leaning movement, with ominous background disturbances given ample breathing room in the mix to wax and wane prior to the deployment of a deadly bassline, lent pace by rolling hats and an immutable drum pattern. The irreverently titled Leaning Towers of Concrete opens with a poignancy Szare devotees will be unfamiliar with, before monolithic bass stabs and half heard field recordings hail the onset of a menacing and suitably grimy return to active dissonance. Raw tribal percussion drives B2 Você Aí, with an off kilter rhythm working in tandem with a mutated garage beat to create serious late night basement vibes.

Cco - Music For Cosmonauts
LXRC10
LUX REC
12inch12.10.201212.OCT.12

TechnoAcidElectro

Lux Rec reaches number 10 in their catalogue, and for this occasion they come out with a special release.
In January 2012 CCO played a stunning and completely live & analog set at Zukunft, one of the best clubs in ZŸrich. Lux Rec asked him to reenact the set and record it once again, live. The result is a 1 hour long electronic music suite, filled with 808 and 707 beats, 303 acid lines and spatial sounds. They decided to press 2 excerpts, Pt. 1 is 12 minutes long while Pt. 2 is 25 minutes long, and release them on vinyl as MUSIC FOR COSMONAUTS. It was magic to see CCO at work, as no computer was used in the process every pattern specs had to be written down on paper, and machines programmed on the run.
The sleeve artwork of the LP has been silkscreened by Adalberto (Acidicted). The label picture is a piece specially made for Lux Rec by Marc Kappeler (moire.ch). The mastering has been done by Ruud Lekx (Rude 66), the idea and overall production of this release is by D Cosmo & Faber.
Music for Cosmonauts is music to look at the world from outer space. We hope you'll fly again with us.

Erol Alkan - Another Bugged Out Mix & Bugged In

35
K7294CD
!K7 Records
CD10.10.201210.OCT.12

HouseElectroAcidTechnoMinimal

At the end of 2006, Erol Alkan was at a crossroads. He'd been voted DJ of the year by Mixmag. He'dmade landmark, expectation-defying remixes for bands he loved: a crunching 'glam racket' reworking of 'Do You Want To' for Franz Ferdinand, a wonderfully wistful reinterpretation of Hop Chip's 'Boy From School', a psychedelic take on Scissor Sisters' 'I Don't Feel Like Dancing' and a genre-defining reworking of Justice's 'Waters Of Nazereth'. He was about to close Trash, the Monday night indie disco that had somehow morphed into the most adventurous, influential and glamorous club night in the world without changing its attitude, musical philosophy - or ever charging over six pounds on the door. Other triumphs lay a little further in the past. In 2006, he supported Daft Punk for their live return at Global Gathering at their own personal request. The year before, he did the same for Madonna at Koko in Camden with a DJ set which she used as an intro tape on her subsequent world tour. In 2002, he'd lent some muscle to another icon, creating the bootleg of 'Blue Monday' and 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' that Kylie performed at the Brits in 2002: the culmination of a craze for 'bastard pop' hybrids he'd been instrumental in creating alongside long-term kindred spirits Soulwax. Then there were his DJ sets at clubs and festivals around the world, in which Erol's unerring instinct for playing the right record at the right time brought hardened clubbers and alternative music obsessives together in abandoned celebration of brilliant music. Though he started DJing in dance clubs in earnest in 2001 after being invited to play at Bugged Out, Erol still considers himself an outsider in that scene. 'Unfortunately, I never had that seismic moment of hearing someone like Carl Craig DJ in '96' he says. 'I feel as passionately about the Manic Street Preachers as people in dance music do about Kraftwerk.
