Tyrees is an up and coming, London born and bred producer and DJ with a heavy focus on breaks, bass and pads. His sound pays homage to and is an evolution of the elements that were so crucial in the UK dance music scene throughout the '90s and onwards. His love for Hardcore, Jungle and Drum 'n' Bass of the early to mid '90s is principally important to the formation of his style. Producers like Tyrees are taking full advantage of the current wave of innovative and experimental styles of electronic dance music. With great respect and adoration, Tyrees is combining percussive elements, rhythms, structures, samples and tempos from many genres and eras, creating familiar but fresh, unique and exciting sounds.Aside from electronic dance music, Tyrees is deeply interested in a broad spectrum of musical styles, notably the many sub-genres of Jazz, Soul and Funk from the '60s and '70s, Hip Hop culture which was so heavily inspired by this music, and anything else from Rock and orchestral pieces to World Music and obscure OSTs. This obsession with music is apparent in the overall sound of his productions.
'Tidy' is a smooth and subtle journey through beautiful sample based pads, chopped breaks, synth lines and vocal samples. It is a gradually rising force, evolving with delicate bass and synth tones and a mysterious vocal narrative. It effortlessly transitions into a melodic latter half, concluding with a climactic, explosive drum.

2529KM Records is a new dub techno label created by two friends and artists - Piotr Bejnar aka N1KT (Warsaw, PL) and Leon Lolishvili aka Boyd Schidt (Tbilisi, GE). 2529 KM stands for the distance between Warsaw and Tbilisi. The idea of the label to release compilations with artists from different countries and nationalities. Through music the label wants to unite different cultures and to create a group of friends all over the world, who support themselves in music and life.

The first release 2529KM 001 is the compilation from Idealist (Switzerland) - producer, DJ and label owner of Idealistmusic, Stojche ( Macedonia) - Berlin-based artist who's primarily inspired of the local electronic scene in Skopje, Boyd Schidt (Georgia) - one of the leading techno artists in Georgia and N1KT (Poland) - new techno alias from the owner of 2529 KM and Otake Records.

The latest outing on Will & Ink is a remix EP that finds Parisian producers Bambounou and Simo Cell team up for four reworked versions of Yaleesa Halls Woodall LP. Both artists are known for their releases on 50 Weapons, Livity Sound and Wisdom Teeth. Right here, on Will & Ink, two solo outings with another two collaborated remixes on the b-side showcase their dubbed out, stripped back and paranoid dark Parisian trademark sound. Their very specific sound sounds like little else and is a solid match with Yaleesa Hall and the Amsterdam imprint as this EP proves.

Six track EP of berzerk, often downright scary new music from Chafik Chennouf (Leyla Records) with the Ferrorequinologie" track absorbed and remixed by Lucy (Stroboscopic Artefacts) Mondkopf and aKatsunori Sawa respectively.

For our final record of the year, we turn to Glasgow's man of the year - Denis Sulta.

Like a good chunk of the Numbers family, he has earnt his stripes working at the coalface of techno aka Rubadub. He has crafted two excellent twelves for our bare-chested cousins at Dixon Avenue Basement Jams and is beginning to carve himself out a reputation as a DJ of some repute, expertly blending in the bangers with Sulta-certified weirdness. Denis is part of a new wave of Glaswegian artists who are doing amazing things and whose music is continuously exciting us.

'It's Only Real' created by Sulta during a burst of inspiration one Sunday, takes us back to a time when techno was intricately melodic but still kicked hard in the club. Made with only the purest of intentions and a dedication to the art of moving heads and feet.

Good news for exigent Techno lovers, here comes another deep and mesmerizing release by the Californian Techno ambassador Drumcell, with remixes by three highly inspired co-conspirators. Many have already heard Drumcell's original album version of 'Speak Silence". The slow and haunting beat, the hypnotizing poetry of the vocals, the incredibly well-defined bass and the dark, enthralling atmosphere characterize the work of this restless sound designer and make it clearly irresistible. Furthermore the choice of the remix producers also could not have been any more spot on. CLR core artist Brian Sanhaji, one of today´s most creative and in demand Techno live acts, crafted a driving and very club friendly version of Drumcell´s intriguing original composition. The man who is also taking care of the entire mastering of the label has once more proven his sonic and musical sensitivity while effortlessly taking the very essence of 'Speak Silence' straight to the dance floor. Deep and weird, rave influenced techno tracks.

Bristol upstarts Giant Swan bring their distinct brand of chaotic noise to Timedance. Fresh from a series of high profile gigs and a feature in The Wire, the duo release their first single of 2017, the most refined work they have showcased yet. The single features two assaults of frenetic rhythmic work outs, gully drops and punky vocals - cementing their place as one of the most exciting up and comers in dance music right now.

Ploy follows up last years 'Iron Lungs' on Timedance with an EP of deep percussion exercises. 'Intrigued By The Drum' sees the London-based producer explore evolving rhythms and electronics. While the tone stays relentlessly tribal, Ploy variates on the theme. The opening tracks dread is balanced out by the warm, colourful strings on 'Zoom', whist 'Blow Poke' bounces with frenetic propulsion. The EP concludes with 'Bad Seed', where a sultry groove is programmed alongside the wooziest of pads. All four tracks showcase Ploy at his most subtle and accomplished, it's well worth the wait.

Following a still-ongoing series of reissues of the earliest, previously tape-only releases from Dominick Fernow's Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement, this long-in-the-making new album proper is an epic 80 minute set featuring additional production and 'sound on sound processing' from Silent Servant, a remix from Substance and mastering by Paul Corley. It's by far the most ambitious and far-reaching Rainforest dispatch, taking that artificial, tropical humidity as a starting point before heading deep into a kind of textured ambience that reminds us of everything from Talk Talk's Laughing Stock to Carl Craig's How The West Was Won, from Huerco S. to classic Chain Reaction.
'Ambient Black Magic' moves away from the extreme saturation of those early cassettes and the industrial environmentalism of his previous album Green Graves and is described by the label as 'Fear Dub' - which is essentially the perfect encapsulation of the deep sense of paranoia contained within. The opening Jungle
Is A Shapeshifter is a gargantuan 35 minute head-melter that's split across the first two sides of the vinyl pressing. Co-Produced with Silent Servant, it's the most absorbing piece of new electronic music we've heard for time - slowly unfurling via chorus pedal guitars that gradually degrade, while a fathoms-deep bass pulse and tape-delay gives the piece its shape. It's like an updated, tranquillised, fever-dream variant of the kind of ambient dub Vainqueur made his own back in the mid-90's - we could listen to it on a loop for hours.
Beyond The Yellow-Spotted Bamboo, another Silent Servant co-production, clocks in at a relatively modest 17 minutes and heads off into more open terrain, this time with submerged percussion providing some propulsion, while shards of coloured synth pull you back into the swamp. It's another humid, breathtaking session - bringing out the best in both Fernow and Silent Servant via perhaps the most important and satisfying work either artist has been involved with.
Praying Mantis Black Arts is another masterclass in sub-bass construction, while Chile's Crimson Tide is the shortest track on the album, a kind of broken coda before Substance ends the set with a remix of Beyond The Yellow-Spotted Bamboo, deploying a tribal reduction that references classic Chain Reaction from a producer who was part of it first hand. It's a relatively upbeat conclusion to one of the most immersive listening experiences you'll have in 2017; those of you looking for escape should dive in - you won't want to re-engage with the world around you for a while.

The Italian producer, whose real name is Federico Maccherone, presents his first release of 2017 - a solo EP marrying the same ethereal, wide-angle synthesis and intricate drum programming that appears on standout work for Boddika's Nonplus imprint and the Afterlife label. More than ever, Maccherone shows his range - rolling, meditative recordings sit comfortably alongside some more overtly dance floor material, with both approaches bound by the same high-end production values listeners and DJ's alike have come to expect from the Somne project.
In various ways, the EP offers a certain degree of insight into Maccherone's dual identity as a producer of both clinical, dance-floor fare as well as a cerebral, leftfield work - and in turn, how the artist draws together these two strands of creative endeavour to craft unique and profoundly emotive electronic music. Nods to classic IDM and Ambient sit at the periphery of the recordings, although the main focus is on the propulsive, contemporary Techno derivatives - from warping, half-time opener Divided Love, with its crisp, white noise washes and clinical use of distortion - through to Endgame's exacting, peak-time drive. And whilst the form shifts across the EP from half-time, polyrhythmic work to more direct 4x4 compositions - everything remains bound by the same exquisite, otherworldly atmosphere that touches on the grandiose whilst maintaining a gloriously introspective bent.
Balance comes across as a principle theme on the record, both in terms of production aesthetic and track sequencing, but there is a wonderful contrast between the elements - with the sounds ringing strong and true. The two versions of lead Metropolis that perhaps appear to illustrate in the best way the powerful dichotomy within Maccherone's work, with the A side version conjuring up a distinctly brooding sentiment - a quintessential example of rolling, contemporary Electronica, whilst the Alternate Mix of the B side offers a more direct, cathartic interpretation - expertly executed for maximum dance-floor effectiveness.
Mature and accomplished, Metropolis is a fine addition to the growing Somne discography. The record paints a picture of a producer in full control of his art, definitely working to create a powerful three-dimensional space of his own within the genre.

Vakula has been a Dekmantel label member ever since the very early days. The Ukraine based producer now drops his album Cyclicality Between Procyon And Gomeisa on the label.
'This album is about cycles, repetition and interaction', says Vakula, whose Cyclicality between Procyon and Gomeisa is the third of a series of albums and reflects a dashing experimental record that evokes the endless and captivating potential of electronic music. It creates a mesmerizing journey through various music genres, exhibiting a singular sonic experience, whilst he works through a process of improvisation and refinement.
Once again the mastermind proves to be capable of creating complex, yet diverse musical pieces beyond genres and trends. The result: an audio adaptation of his fascinating mind. 'There are two parallel processes that come together in my work: me writing music and working on the sound I want to achieve, and the energy from outside that flows and transforms into thoughts, correlations, and actions.'

The track titles relate to the source of Vakula's inspiration and connect the dots between his obsession for the vastness of our universe and electronic music. ''To wonder about the universe and to dig into mythology and scientific research discovering at least some of its secrets is what keeps me endlessly motivated as a producer.''

San Francisco's Christina Chatfield brings her signature acid sound to god particle with 'The Circle' EP. 'Circadian' reflects and evokes the natural cyclical rhythm of the track as the pitch naturally rises and falls over a steady bassline and consistent tempo. A perfect track to draw the dancer deeper. A2.Black_Hole Steady prominent kick drums keep feet marching through crunchy, distorted sounds and clicking. 'Black Hole' is an otherworldly track that pulls you into the space and won't let you go..B1.Voyage is a visionary guest through alien atmospheres. Chatfield's signature rolling acid lines, panning synths and rapid hi-hats make this one a bottomless groove, perfect for peak energy..B2.Acid_Exhibition. Crisp hi-hats and a kick drum are quickly met by an intrepid acid line. Dreamy synths softly grow throughout 'Acid Exhibition", adding more atmosphere along with steady claps and a vocal sample.

Motion (Newcastle) co-founder and resident Richie Steedman makes his debut on Jamie Jones' Hottrax imprint with three groove-centered productions this November.A key component in the North of England's electronic music scene, Steedman has had a deep-rooted passion for house and techno since becoming au fait with a pair of turntables at merely 12 years old. Since then the British DJ launched Newcastle's Motion event series back in 2010, where he's a resident alongside fellow Hottrax producer Patrick Topping. He now joins a roster spanning the likes of Yousef, Harry Romero, wAFF, Mat.Joe and more.Echoing chopped vocals, crunchy percussion and a meandering bassline form the basis of 'Stitcher' before undulating drums join a medley of squelches, pops and whirrs in 'Chance It'. Concluding the package, 'Slip' incorporates infectious open hi-hats and a stuttering vox for a moody and mesmerising finale.

Metempsychosis vinyl 001 invites you to the sonic soundscapes of Tapefeed along with a remix by Vril. Here, we are presented with the unfolding of both legend and reality, abstract and matter, sound and touch. The very first release of Croatia's Moondance festival imprint - Moondance Records, brings 4 tracker of Berlin based Italian techno punk anarchist duo The Analogue Cops. After a great success of their first album since 2013. released in November last year, Moondance festival residents deliver another dancefloor killer EP named Unicorn.

On the east coast of Sweden, next to the Baltic Sea inlet of Bråviken, between deep forests and cliffs to the north and plains and farmland to the south, lies the city of Norrköping. This place has been through a lot. Days of industrial glory were followed by decline and a slow recovery that still goes on today. In between these forests and plains, between industrial heritage and modern transformation, there's plenty of inspiration and food for thought for a generation of electronic musicians.

This compilation has been put together to celebrate all the great talent of this city, showcasing producers who may or may not be born in or currently living in Norrköping, but who all took their first important steps as artists here.

Alderaan (Mindtrip, Weekend Circuit) is the a.k.a. of Franco De Michele, techno raising talent based in Buenos Aires who is the new signing artist of White Rose Records.
Starting with a deep ambient track, the release becomes stronger with Jade where we find a mental techno track with nice percussions,but keeping the deepness of the beginning.
With Form of distraction the release explotes with a huge mental and for moments psycho techno track that seems to lead the release.
Permanence slows drives the EP to the darkness that suppose the end of this piece. Strong release to present one of the new values of White Rose.

Sungate s second release brings 3 perfectly executed, powerful and spaced out original tracks produced by EQUAL, Dakpa s Techno alter ego. Anatomies EP is completed with Orbe s vision: an intense, complex and dark remix that culminates this solid record.

Jean-Louis Huhta (Dungeon Acid) and Ideal label head Joachim Nordwall unite once again as High Boys for an EP influenced by their love of old school acid, bad vibes, dub 7's, William S Burroughs and 80s industrial music.
The pair are already bandmates of sorts as part of the mighty Skull Defekts, but anyone familiar with Dungeon Acid's much sought after catalogue or Nordwall's sprawling, eclectic interests will no doubt already have their ears pricked for this one. The results are pretty much inline with what you'd expect: warehouse productions infused with all the grit and experimental determination you'd imagine.
Described by Nordwall as 'Claustrophobic industrial acid', there's a definite sense of dread permeating these tracks, situating them somewhere between the Nordic, gothic techno ambience of Varg and Mika Vainio's analogue prowess. It will be interesting to see what happens if these two put their minds together for a full length, but on the evidence presented here High Boys is a project well worth tuning into...

This October sees Jay Lumen drop a new album, appropriately titled 'Lost Tales', via his Footwork
imprint comprised of a medley of productions he's been road testing over this year.

My 'Lost Tales' album is a special collection of unique tracks that I've never released before - tales that were never told. Most of the tracks had been dreamed up previously but never physically written. Some of them may have been started and tested but then stayed in an unfinished phase, never reaching their final form. I've now compiled all of these "Lost Tales" into one massive album.' - Jay Lumen.

Appearing on Drumcode, Saved, 100% Pure and Octopus Records, Jay Lumen has certainly earned
his stripes when it comes to releasing on high-profile labels. Likewise as a performer Lumen is in very
high demand, reflecting on a globetrotting year appearing in Miami, London, Amsterdam, Detroit,
Barcelona and Toronto. The international DJ and producer is now set to drop his debut album on
Footwork, a year after the imprint's launch.

Lumen takes no prisoners from the off, kick-starting proceedings with cavernous cuts 'Pulsar' and
'System'. Tracks like 'Lost Tales', 'Old Machines' and 'Passion 303' are ominous productions built on
muscular kicks and echoing stabs, whereas the likes of 'I Am', 'Quiet Storm' and 'Azure' provide more
atmospheric and mesmerising alternatives.Crunchy snares and piercing melodies form 'Black Stabs', before 'Fallen Angels' reduces the tempo with intricate percussion and a cacophony of synths. The down tempo 'Outer Space' then concludes the package with syncopated drums, tranquil melodies and epic pads.

Following a run of local transmissions from A Sagittariun, Crump, Rob Smith and Atki2, Idle Hands turns its attention to Berlin and the straight-up, no-nonsense techno thrust of Johanna Knutsson and Hans Berg. Both respected artists and DJs in their own right, the pair have been turning out 12"s together for The Free Spirit Society, Klasse and Crime City Disco over the past few years, but most importantly they've been steering the excellent UFO Station Recordings as a vessel for their punchy, primal techno tracks.

The sound on this EP taps into the pure form of stern, dark dancefloor tackle favoured at Idle Hands - no extraneous filler, plenty of space in the mix, but equally built with warmth and personality rather than monochrome functionality. If you need further proof, just look to the fact the EP is named after a Swedish soap opera from the 90s.

The bleeps and bass tones that pulse through "Taggen" are so finely crafted they need not skip and dance around the arrangement. The melodic interplay on "Klimax" is subtle but ultimately uplifting and optimistic where so much techno concerns itself with oppressive gloom. "Bimbo" finds the pair embracing a more psychedelic approach, but even here the modulating effects processes are kept within certain boundaries so as to not dilute the impact on the floor. After all, this is music to dance to, to be felt over a large system (where possible).


Moving from leftfield bass excursions to minimalist 2-step, UK techno and now onto this much more continental sound, theMälarviken EP continues to widen the range of Idle Hands' musical tastes without losing sight of the complete picture.

Super Rhythm Trax welcomes phenomenally talented producer John Heckle to the label . John has rightly picked up quite a following due to quality output on labels like Mathematics, Tabernacle, Creme and more, not to mention his killer series of Techno 12's under the Head Front Panel name.
On this release you'll find heavy nods to Detroit as the music is bursting with soaring chords and emotion but all the time underpinned by the heaviest of 909 beats !

Tbilisi-born & Brooklyn-based Sophia Saze's sound explores eclecticism from downtempo work on Get Physical to upcoming releases across other genres coming out this fall. Dusk & Haze 001 is the debut of a daring experimental label breaking all boundaries of limitation.

The fourth LAQ is proudly made by Attic's owner Fabrizio Lapiana. His melodic techno taste is employed into each track moving from hypnotic hard strings of the "Cold In Summer" to the sour and acidic groove of "Acid Smiles" (both on the first side). In the b-side Fabrizio goes into more hypnotic and obsessive sound. A sort of progressive-techno vibes served to people who never-stop dancing.

Following a big EP from Richy Ahmed, Play It Say It returns with a talented collaboration in the form of Mark Fanciulli and Rob Cockerton, with Honey Dijon on the remix.
Mark Fanciulli has carved out his own sound that takes the best of House and Techno, turning in his own infectious releases on the likes of Joris Voorn's Rejected, as well as the legendary Planet E and Intec. Long time friend and collaborator Rob Cockerton joins Fanciulli, who's own credits lead to labels including Suara and Snatch!, and together the duo cook up a storm here.
'Slave To The Rave' is the fantastic opening cut and is a real party starter with an old school feel. Acid stabs bring raw energy alongside chattery claps straight from Chicago in the 80's, whilst the whole production is bolstered by slick drum programming that won't fail to work crowds into a frenzy.

After releases on the Ninja Tune-backed label R'COUP'D, the mysterious Prequel Tapes surfaces with an EP for Midnight Shift. Composed of 3 tracks and 2 locked grooves, SHIFT LTD 003 fossilises transient moments in between gridlocks of tight grooves. Like a scan of light sweeping surreptitiously across a dungeon of darkness or a blinking throb pulsating from the corner of one's eye, these are the brief but blinding moments of illumination that capture time suspended on the edge of two worlds. Memory capsules slow-releasing an industrial mythos back into the clubbing consciousness. Prequel Tapes is a work of deep synthesis. Teenage recordings orchestrated into densely layered tapestries; a deeply emotional study on a life characterised by a shifting relationship to electronics. The pieces serve as a chronology of desire and reflection, reconciling a nascent passion for industrial music with a history in the club. There is a temptation to draw comparisons to Mark Leckey's excavation of UK rave culture, Lee Gamble's junglist memories or the hauntological approach of the Ghost Box label, however this is clearly a personal trajectory aesthetically distant from an English past. Oscillating between utopian to claustrophobic, the evolving synth work, deep techno atmospheres and traces of the clangorous energy of early European ambient and industrial tell a distinctly German tale, forged between the forest and the autobahn.

B1: The rhythmic cadence increased crescendo until vibrating the walls of this immense temple pushing little by little the patient in its most extreme psychological entrenchments. Above the building, a flood of lightning, thunder and torrential rain testified to the receptivity of the cosmos to the ceremony, Nature participating in the salvific emotional cataclysm provoked by exorcism. TWR72 is back with a full new story starring Lucid as the lead. Lucid dropped out of space on a world called planet earth. It's luminous and vivid appearance were instantly clear. At first Lucid was a bit reserved but during it's first steps it opened up and showed some colorful emotions and hints of it's personality. With detailed patterns of communication Lucid tried to find a way through this new world. Erudite, which was already for a more prolonged time on planet earth, picked up the incomprehensible code from Lucid and reproduced it into a solid and clever message. Erudite was keen enough to think of a way to communicate back with Lucid as it noticed Lucid needed help. But it needed someone else to bring the message to Lucid. So Erudite asked help from Colloquial who could easily transcript the message back to Lucid. Colloquial used different types of frequencies to connect to Lucid, but it wasn't that easy. Lucid already travelled further and was hard to reach. Therefor Colloquial tried to use heavier elements to make a more solid composition. Unfortunately not only positive things arrived from space. Aporia was a rather negative influence which disturbed the link between Colloquial and Lucid. Aporia tried to force the communication by continuously changing the elements of the message. But it wasn't all that bad, because at the end Aporia brought the two important elements of the message together.

Nico Vascellari and Nicolò Fortuni come out to play in the dark on their 3rd and deadliest LP as Ninos Du Brasil, taking their fascinations with ritual musics - from Brazilian Afro-Latin tribal rhythms to library music and freezing Scandinavian BM - deep into the festering undergrowth of their shared, exotic aesthetic.
Where the cover of their first LP for Hospital Productions, Novos Mistérios (2014), depicted a naked man covered by a leopard pelt, Marvin Gaye Chatwynd's oil painting of a screeching Chiroptera in flight on the Vida Eterna jacket makes a strong visual allegory for NDB's finer tuned spatial sensitivities inside, with their churning rhythms now embedded in fathoms of dread space and father shaded in layers of processed vocal chants, both punk, metal, and tribalistic.
The big highlight is no doubt the closing cut, Vagalumes Piralampos, where Arto Lindsay, the legendary founder of DNA, chimes in on a stygian, moonlit jag between the eyes of bossa nova, batacuda and the sort of esoteric electronics also charted by Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement or Cienfuegos.
But it only really makes sense after you've expended your energies along with the band thru monstrous techno shakedowns such as O veto Chama Seu Nome, the soca-like rush of Condenado Por Un Idioma Desconhecido, or found yourself lost, without coordinates, in the pitch black breakdown of No Meio Da Noite and have been hypnotised by the stalking rhythms and atmospheres of Em Que O Rio Do Mar Se Toma.
The creation of this album, inspired by vampirism, was born from a collaboration between Vascellari and Fortuni with producer Rocco Rampino., whose love of dense textures and low-end bombast masterfully and cleverly couples with the bands explosive percussive charge, resulting in eight tracks that mimic sharp blades scything through a nocturnal jungle.

Liverpool's Yousef has cemented a solid reputation as a reputable DJ-producer who's released on Cocoon, Desolat, Bpitch Control and Defected, remixed the likes of Chaka Khan, Sven Vath, Moby, Four Tet and Carl Cox, and is also the brain behind distinguished events brand and record label Circus.
Meanwhile, Harry Romero has been a force within house music for over two decades, with appearances on Ovum Recordings, Subliminal and Suara, whilst Alan Fitzpatrick has done recent remixes for Prime Numbers, Hot Flush and Hypercolour when not releasing regularly on Drumcode, Cocoon and Dusky's 17 Steps. Arriving on Hottrax, the artists join a roster spanning Patrick Topping, wAFF, Mat.Joe and Jamie Jones himself.
A purring bassline drives 'I'm Behind You' forward whilst intricate percussion joins echoing notes to generate a low-slung groove. London's Weekend Circuit imprint returns with a 5 track EP from label owner Michael Wells entitled 'Three Marks of Existence'. The EP marks Michael's debut on the label and is a signifier of his future direction as a producer - meditative, tense, unfolding electronics and monochrome ambient environments inform this release. The deepest of deep space is contained within EP opener 'Antecedent', an almost menacing, enveloping track that engulfs us during it's 5 minutes or so of existence. 'Verge' follows and is driven by speaker puncturing taut, tribal drum programming and swirling satellite sounds, creeping further into the nexus. Subtly heavy indeed. 'Three Marks of Existence' mines an altogether different vein, an epic, widescreen vision of downtempo electro that is damaged, on the fritz, but containing enough melodic beauty to retain hope. Souls in the machines. Weekend Circuit acolytes YYYY return to the scene of the crime with a monolithic remix of 'Verge' that opens the second side of this EP, showcasing their unique style and interpretation of the original mix, and following on from their previous split EP with Stanislav Tolkachev and their own EP 'Intention Of Mortal'. 'Ilmatar' leaves us out and leads you into the cold night, the final transmission from the 'Three Marks of Existence' signal. Fierce drums punctuate the night sky and barren landscapes while somewhere deep inside, memories are remembered. Kamikaze Space Programme is a sonic experimentalist, an artist led by fascination with sound as much as he is led by 'destroying the dancefloor' and for his first release on Neighbourhood this fascination has manifested itself via Eastern European Cold War radio signals. Side A 'Numbers Stations' finds its inspiration in encrypted shortwave radio used by spies for communication, espionage in the cold war era.
Side B 'Duga 3' takes its stimulus from the Duga 3 radar used between July 1976 to December 1989 by the Soviet government as an early warning network for oncoming nuclear threats.

For its very first vinyl release after 2 years of activity in the digital realm, experimental ambient label Arythmic Records from Strasbourg (France) did a rather bold choice by putting its hopes into a local techno artist well known for its open-mindedness and creativity: Letherique.

After over a year of various experiments, the best ideas were selected and compiled into a series of 3 EPs, each one dedicated to a particular vibe. The first part is about the more synthetic and futuristic outcome. The second one will be rather dark and organic. Finally, the third and last one will be about the more experimental and minimalistic remainder.

Taking from many influences way beyond the world of casual techno music, Letherique ended up crafting unexpected techno tunes, usually starting with an ambient base on which he couldn't help himself adding beats in order to develop what he knew best. After years of activity in the dark, he needed something a little bit special to put into what he could proudly call his first EP as a testament of his passion for the infinite realms of the electronic music genre. These were the perfect fit.

Re_Grad is the new collaboration between Resoe and Grad_U of Redscale fame. The two of them talked about making a project together, so they started sending soundfiles back and forth between their studios. This is the result of the first two tracks they made together, pure Dub Techno deepness, but what else is there to expect!

From Quebec, With Love is the first EP from SLEAZY, a project from Stacy Boudreault (Marie Davidson) and Sam Paquette (Ginger Breaker). An ode to the rural and suburban Quebec experience, SLEAZY is the progenitor of Suburban Techno.

Fresh from collaborating with Anthony 'Shake' Shakir on their remix of Funkadelic for the 'Reworked By Detroiters' LP, Tyler Dancer makes his full solo debut for Don't Be Afraid. The 'Resisting In The Darkness' EP sees the arrival of a major new talent from America's Midwest and the first outing for a unique new voice in techno. Counting Shake, Legowelt, Marty Bonds and Jay Denham amongst those who have inspired and encouraged him, Tyler Dancer brings a deep feeling for the history and technique inherent in the music of Detroit and Chicago to his productions.

Tyler Dancer is a DJ, producer, and musician hailing from Kalamazoo, Michigan. As a student at the University of Michigan (2005-2009) he became a DJ and Training Director at WCBN FM in Ann Arbor. Known amongst the listenership & colleagues for pushing the boundaries of rock based freeform sets, Dancer gained a positive reputation for his unique historical approach to sets at house parties, dance battles, and local clubs with a focus on Detroit Techno & Chicago House alongside the music that inspired those movements. In 2014 he made the acquaintance of Manuel Gonzales aka MGUN (DBA/Wild Oats) who inspired Dancer to begin sharing his love for electronic music live and publicly under the duo's collaborative guise, 'Club Creeps'. They made their debut during the 2016 Movement Festival and continue to play live sets to this day.

Another smasher from Nous, this time courtesy of Cofaxx, AKA Joseph Magee and his boundlessly breathtaking 'Pico Vu' EP, a seven tracker that manages to cover immense ground and knowledge within a compact narrative. And each track is a mandatory component of this cleverly assembled story with startling standouts such as 'Dicey' a deep Detroity piece, layering into a Sound Signaturey space, while LA's seasoned producer Brown Irvin closes side 1 with a bolshier bash at opening track 'Tide Pool's ambient, semi-conscious swirlings. Makeness, the brainchild of Kyle Molleson, returns with his white label release Temple Works, out June 16th. Off the back of a Minor Science remix being played out by the likes of Jamie XX, Ben UFO, Avalon Emerson and more last summer, the EP marks the producer's most dance oriented EP yet.
The roots of Temple Works date back to the producer's time in Leeds, which played an important part in both this release and his wider love for dance music. While there, Molleson recorded a friend's percussion project, G-Bop Orchestra, at an old textile mill in Holbeck, known as Temple Works. The vast openness of the space made for the best natural reverb and is weaved throughout the title track. It was also in Leeds where the producer discovered Cosmic Slop, an all welcoming party with a sound system built by founder and resident DJ, Tom Smith, with donations going towards raising money for local charity MAP (Music and Arts Production). Slop's intimate and flawless sounding room played a huge part in cementing Makeness' love for club spaces.

Mystica Tribe is the musical alias of Tokyo-based producer, Taka Noda. Drawing on a wide range of influences from dub, soul, bass music, rhythm and blues Mystica Tribe has quickly been developing a very distinctive sound that exists in a weird, freaked out zone between dub and techno. Noda is especially interested in deep, psychedelic music, and this is reflected in his productions, which are equally suited for late night listening sessions or bent, broken in dancefloors. His first track, Meditation Stick, was released in 2011 on Dutch label SD Records, backed by two remixes from label owners Syncom Data. This was followed by two more EPs on SD Records in 2013: Stars are Mine and Flowers. Artists like Gilles Peterson and 2562 have supported these well-received releases, and his track. His Temple recently appeared on Pangaea's Fabric Live 73 mix CD. In 2014, Noda is launching his own label, Mystica Tribe Records, through which he plans to continue developing his uniquely psychedelic take on dub and techno. His recent EP, "Lizard", was released on his label in 2014. "Jade Eye EP" was released on his label in 2016.

This is the first album Oscar Mulero has released under his own name, after two acclaimed LPs under the moniker Trolley Route. Well known for his skills as a hard-edged, raw and floor-orientated techno dj, his productions go far beyond, digging deep into the intricate landscape of intelligent techno, floating moods, reminiscent atmospheres, harmony and detail.

Grey Fades To Green is the affirmation of his maturity as a producer, using both hardware and software in the pursuit of a highly coherent and diverse album.

The concept is split into two parts: The Grey and The Green, each one with its own character. The first part is rougher and meant for the dance floor, although pays full attention to detail and complexity. The second part is quieter, has a slower pace and is best enjoyed at home.

'Road To Pleasure' is in the same vein. Out of this world drum programming, scientific labours on the synths and again a complex and mutant arrangement for this floor filler.

Hard edged metallic beat techno, Shawn O 'Sullivan picks up right we he left off on his last "This Coercion Pt.I" ep earlier this year. Again we get driving, sharp machine music not so far from the Birmingham school of the 90s sound with this latest ep. O' Sullivan has a knack with eloquently pummeling the listener as demonstrated here, the track Fully Automated being the perfect example as it airs out midway through taking a break from the punishment. The esteemed Will & Ink imprint hits the mini milestone of a tenth release by inviting old and new associates to remix some of the label's still essential back catalogue. The results are as weird and wonderful as you would expect of a label that has always gone its own way. Mosca flips 'Second Lucas' into something intense and brutal, with lashings of frazzled industrial synth sounds whipping about above pinging and high impact drums. Italian Chevel then transforms 'Third Lucas' into five minutes of otherworldly machine made oddness. Livity Sound star Asusu comes with a typically hi fidelity re-work of 'Second Carol.' Dubby and loopy, metallic and clean, it is a pristine track to get dance floors locked to a groove. Collin Strange has a long and storied history in the New York City underground music scene of the nineties. From owning a record shop in the East Village, to working at distributers, to playing in bands of all sorts, to producing music alone, Strange was around at one of the most vibrant (and transitional) times in the L.E.S., just on the cusp of Guliani's culture crackdown which choked the life out of the city, forcing many to leave. Currently located in Seattle, Strange has picked up where he left off years ago plugging in the gear and churning out blistering acid cuts with a very D.I.Y. edge that brings to mind Drop Bass Network, Unit Moebius, or free party French acid of old. Coming full circle these tracks are completely at home on L.I.E.S. and will undoubtedly thrash any soundsystem in sight. Play at maximum volume for total disruption.

Device Control is Jake Reif's new solo production outlet which draws equally from the pools of early Wax Trax and Medusa's with the hybrid pit jack of early Farris or Rush. Machine made yet with a soul, all four cuts are for the true hyper jackers on the floor, tested and recomended.
Born in New York and spending his formative years in the mid-West, Jake Reif has served time amongst some of the best, producing alongside both Mystic Bill as well as Reade Truth; releasing well recieved 12s on Rong Music and a break out remix on Snuff Trax in recent years. Back in the day you could catch Jake clocking hours working at Sonic Groove Records among a motley crew of heavy hitters whilst honing his talents.

For its 23rd release, Berlin-based Italian label Out-ER welcomes techno fellows DJ Spider and Phil Moffa for V EP .

The collaboration between the Italian label and the two techno producers, follows a meeting in NYC between Out-ER co-founder Simone Gatto at the producers headquarter Gatto always appreciated the artists musical peculiarity and, generally, supports distorted electronic sounds, which anyway already found space on the label s previous releases thanks to the efforts of The Analogue Cops, Christopher Rau and Marieu.

The label upcoming release is an invigorating, dark electronic affair. The artists declare that V EP is inspired to the celebrated American tv series Visitors , from which we sampled several voices and sounds .

First Contact showcases a powerful bassline and rolling percussions flowing into a funky groove surrounded by various effects and noises in the background, creating an unconscious of a laying persona in surreal, almost industrial atmosphere. Beast As It Is is a broken beat tool exhibiting a few vocals sampled from the science fiction tv series Visitors shaded pads processed with compressors keep mashing with the delays and reverberations, a dissonance stands out for its special, experimental personality. As for the A1, here return the 4/4 percussive groove and sharp hi-hats with Siege , offering a vigorous, noisy aura that melts with an obsessive and hypnotic melody, wisely distorted by the two producers. Busted Main is a two-minutes ambient piece which alternates crawling pads, morbose synth lines and other clouded, sampled voices for start to end, originating a sinister air. Tang Dream is the last dancefloor-friendly tracker of the EP debuting with a windy ambient intro, the one-minute premise evolves to a solid 4/4 affair characterized by a with a vigorous beat which gets lightened by clean sparks and tribal textures.

Kepler Sound District return for a second release with four prime cuts.

It is already possible to find works signed by Post Scriptum in discographies of well respected labels for quite a sometime. This undoubtedly confirms it's value. "Year Zero" is a first release on Post Scriptum's own label and in a sense it is a manifesto defining it's musical identity. No space here for a sound targeting the current techno mainstream. There is dirt, and the pinch of imperfections, very characteristic of avant-garde electronics and industrial well known for the quite nearby past.
On the A side, there are compositions appearing like shutters from experiments conducted in the secret laboratory.
The rhythm is giving the appropriate weight, while the rest is a musical conglomerate of sounds and synthesis building up a feeling of anxiety.A swarming energy, a modulation, an uncertainty and lurking somewhere danger are surrounding us.
On the flip side are remixes constituting the lighter counterpunch. Motor eurhythmics bringing to life the old good Detroit techno definitely of a dance-floor character, making this material ideal for an interesting set.

For nearly three decades, Laurent Garnier has urged himself to create on
the cutting edge of dance music. Beyond the turntables and studio,
Garnier moves between genres and performance techniques with the
aim of continuously challenging himself. Pick any moment from his
musical journey, and it's easy to see this creative momentum: there was
the Hacienda in the late '80s, his time spent in America exploring house,
the techno of his label F Communications and his entry into the realm of
jazz. "I never want to be an old artist playing my old tracks just to please
the older crowd," he says. "I don't think that's healthy." (RA)

Ivan Erofeev is a uniquely gifted solo performer and producer from the mysterious Siberian city of Omsk, which was founded as a fortress town in the Eighteenth Century primarily to defend Russia's borders against steppe-dwelling horsemen from Central Asia. Here, where European maps quickly fade away, an industrial powerhouse grew, pulling endlessly upon the elemental power of a frozen wasteland. Ivan Erofeev comes from that same proud and distant city. As does his music. Having worked for several years under the moniker Aleph, Erofeev has now made things simple, using only his surname. His newest release is a bold interplay of insistent techno and witty samples from much warmer shores. Together they celebrate the mature, pulsing sounds of endurance. Whether one speaks of tribal ritual or a Siberian factory, the goal remains the same: endurance. To hear these tracks from Erofeev is to share a fundamentally human experience: to dream over and over!of somewhere else. Despite moving to Europe's biggest city, which is swamped by global commerce, Erofeev still boasts the proud trademark and outlook of Omsk. Pierre Codarin delivers three groove focused house numbers for the second release on his selftitled imprint this June. The British producer has started the year strong, launching his own label as well as producing the third release on Huxley's No Idea's Original imprint. Both releases have seen incredible support from the upper echelons of house and techno, with Radio Slave, Raresh, Mr. G, Laurent Garnier and Jackmaster all showing their support.

The Delsin c-series welcomes Sawlin for a new EP that finds him in a housier mood than you might expect. After EPs on Ann Aimee, Vault Series and Code Is Law, he has become known as a techno producer, but this proves he can do much more. Opener 'Motion Keeper' is a deep underground affair with swirling pads adding scale to the heavy, churning drums. It's soaked in ethereal pads and will suck you right in when played on a large sound system. 'Easiness Supplier' gets a little more trippy, with mastery synth droplets dancing about above busted, frazzled drum loops. It's edgy and tense builds to a seriously weighty groove over time. Last of all, 'Wired Evening' is a dark, gritty dubbed out house cut with snaking hi hats, gurgling synths and menace in the air. This is shadowy and physical house music at its finest.

After kicking of 2017 with the introduction of Faune on the last release, Ornate continues in the same vein by welcoming yet another new talent into the fold. The ambitious Amsterdam-based Sota approached Ornate with a demo that he was willing to press up himself as part of a competition he had won, but the quality of the tracks was so strong we offered to press the record ourselves and give him the opportunity to start his own label with the competition prize.Sota launched Talaman at the very start of 2017 with the Closer EP, providing the first evidence of his razor-sharp production skills. The Inverse EP reveals further dimensions to his sound, dealing in assured club tracks that strike a perfect chord between functional and soulful. Deep chords, shimmering textures and subtle, addictive grooves permeate the three tracks on the Inverse EP, where the immediacy of the elements makes for impeccable dancefloor material.

From 2008-12 Pierre Serafini ran Airflex Labs, one of the first French labels to release UK inspired bass music, and since 2012 he has been producing and djing under his more techno and electro inspired moniker PEEV. Throughout the varied steps of his career, his musicality and meticulous attention to detail have seen him forge multiple connections and alliances: notably through his work promoting his residency Haste at Lyon's iconic Le Transbordeur. Haste lasted over half a decade and brought multiple international artists from the post-dubstep and UK continuum to Lyon, where they shared the stage with local artists, helping develop the environment that has seen Lyon blossom as a scene in recent years. Pierre has now been active as a DJ and producer for over 15 years, sharing stages with the likes of Autechre, Blawan, Mount Kimbie, Shackleton, Umwelt, Andy Stott, Plaid, Hodge, Lee Gamble, Pearson Sound, Objekt, Call Super, Joy O, Beneath, Leif, and many more.
