Beyond Space And Time is the new record label from Japanese music festival, Rainbow Disco Club (RDC). RDC has been welcoming music loving people to Japan for over a decade. Throughout the festival's history, RDC have been fortunate to constantly encounter performers and DJs who've collaborated with them in establishing a beautiful dance floor year in, year out. These relationships have lead RDC to start their own label, and now gives them the opportunity to reveal one of the best-kept secrets: What is in a DJ's record bag?

This time around, festival regular DJ Nobu kindly opens up his collection and shares the music he loves with us all. On visual duty we welcome Senekt - his representational yet contemporary drawing illustrates the emotion we feel from DJ Nobu.

A1. Laurent Garnier - Water Planet
Highly respected French DJ/Producer Laurent Garnier has been releasing tracks for decades capturing the very essence of Detroit Techno and Breakbeat. He always manages to create something truly emotional. This is not his biggest hit, but it's my favorite.

A2. Mono Junk - Beyond The Darkness
This track represents the very early days of Techno with it's ravey atmosphere. It has a primitive feel, and the obscure mixdown sounds almost unbalanced. That said, this one really stands out when DJing. Very cool.

B1. Psychick Warriors Ov Gaia - The Valley
It was always my intention to include this track in a compilation if were I ever to do one. It has a fat underlying groove, with some indigenous spices thrown in. The whole thing is put together beautifully. No complaints!

B2. Melody Boy 2000 - Plenty Of Love
I wanted to include a track that had Jacking feel to it - that is my definition of dance music. This track mixes well in both Techno and House DJ sets.

C1. Drax Ltd. II - Amphetamine
This is my all time favorite track by Thomas P Heckman. It asks questions and strikes down all the boring 'wanna be cool' techno tracks. It is obviously a well known tune already, but I include it here because I'm often asked for it's track ID from new kids in the game. This is a classic that should be passed down.

C2. Dan Curtin - 3rd From The Sun
Curtin's refined synth grooves and bass lines make this a true timeless classic. It do not get tired of listening to his rhythms and melodies - he always gets it just right.

C3. Front 242 - U-Men.
The originator of Electric Body Music. Their husky vocals, hard rhythms and strong synth basslines made the group very popular at the time, and they are still to this present day. To me, this track represents what the Belgian New Beat scene is all about.

D1. The Prince Of Dance Music - E3 E6 Roll On
This is the track I played the most up until around 2006. It is a genuine house track that cuts through trends in music. A hidden floor killer.

D2. Pan Sonic - Lähetys / Transmission
Electronic music has existed for decades, and if you are to choose some of the best from all scattered & hidden places, Pan Sonic's 'Lähetys / Transmission' must be considered. The track emerges beautifully - breaking structures and transcending the past. Every layer of the piece is produced with such delicacy and care, that as a whole it magically drags you into the world of the unknown.

D3. Burial - Archangel
This track merges melancholic emotions with technological prowess at the highest level, and deeply impacted the dance music scene on it's release. I recently played this track at the end of my set at the forward thinking Terraforma Festival in Milan. It faded out to huge applause from the open minded crowd. A moment to be remembered.

Veteran dub techno producer Brendon Moeller dons his Echologist alias on 'The Flame' EP.

The title track is the most experimental, opening the record with tripped-out machine melodies and off-beat drum hits. 'Kavorka' follows in the same vein but is more obviously dancefloor-focused. Its arps build up the tension until a thick 303 line takes things to tipping point and eventually release. On the B-side, 'Dirtbox' is a fast-paced, Echologist take on warehouse techno and a deep, atmospheric cut 'Candy Mountain' finishes the record in Moeller's signature style.

Berlin-based Producer and Dj Mike Wall is back with two tracks supporting this new Project. In parallel with his well-known party celebrated in Suicide Circus Berlin and also his label Wall Music, Mike has released a powerful piece for the main track of the EP, and other rhythmic figure with a sense of darkness. He will make you feel the character and soul of German Techno.
BEN GARLÓ:
Launches himself with this attractive label. Base in Madrid and devoted supporter of the techno culture of his country, Ben perfectly captures his ideas in his first two tracks.

Two are surely better than one. Following Lory D and Fadi Mohem, Toronto based producer Graham Bertie aka Nautiluss also steps up for his second outing on Seilscheibenpfeiler, marking the label’s 10th overall release. Once more, Nautiluss is transforming playful and rhythmically intriguing bass music into prime dancefloor cuts, encompassing a rich array of sounds and moods ranging from upfront rave action to delicate deepness.
„Guccifer“ kicks things off with a dark, shuffling beat, creating a subtle hardcore/jungle vibe with atmospheric overtones. „Snakes And Ledgers“ is a percussion-heavy tune led by a fat and thumping bassline and completed with muffled chants by Toronto rapper Matthew Progress. Next up is „WiFi Oasis“, again fronted by a memorably melodic and reverberating bassline while the track explores airy and enigmatic IDM territory. „Moment Of Clarity“ rounds off the EP with ethereal synth pads and big breaky beats, providing an ideal closing track for every extended club night.

O$VMV$M the Bristol based production duo of Amos Childs (Jabu) and Sam Barrett (Kahn & Neek) have traditionally dealt in hazy, smoked out vignettes - seen across release for Idle Hands, No Corner and most recently providing music for the Manonmars LP.

Where the duos previous work has explored ideas in short bursts which capture you then fades away; IDLE063 takes their sound into unexplored directions and shows an evolution in their output. By extending their ideas into long form tracks within the traditional lineage of bristol soundsystem culture and combining it with their unique ear for sampling Phase 4 / Witch brings O$VMV$M's into a territory which shows how wide their sound can truly reach

Live improvisational electronics with stormy outbreaks of wobbly explorations in time and space..

Philipp Quehenberger, 41 years old but still 19 inside for the curiosity and
exploring drive is one of the premier members of the Austrian electronic
avant-garde music community, a long time partner with local legends Patrick Pulsinger and Didi Kern, as well as a mainstay of the worldwide respected Viennese label Editions Mego. His sonic explorations cover a remarkably vast palette of aesthetics, from Jazz to noise, Techno, Industrial, breakbeat, electro, Ambient, and the journey is still on.

Minimalsoul is therefore extremely pleased to welcome Philipp to its roster, an important step in our mission of blending the push of great music from around the world, with a focus on Austrian artists. Because, as any
human being musically rooted in the underground knows: Sky's the limit, but never forget to stay local as well!

The general atmosphere of this release is quite gloomy and mysterious.
It starts with a sort of 'post-modern' funeral march, 'Hind sight,' and indeed it could be any of us, parading along in the ensemble of mourning parents and friends, possibly for the first time: while the strong baseline dictates the pace, the chords reproduce our dizziness.

'Gut,' the most club-oriented track, with its psycho-gressive industrescalating synths, reminds a bit of Holden's 'The Sky was Pink' remix, albeit carving its own peculiarity, with value-adding baseline and menacing vocal samples: the funeral is over, and all the parentado is gone,
you're left alone with your dualistic emotions, halfway between sorrow and relief and - as the vocal says - you've 'never been here before.'

This dark and melancholic emotional uncertainty carries on with the last track of the 'triptych,' 'In,Out.' Fans of Brooklyn-based Galcher Lustwerk,
or of Coil will particularly like this one, with its overlapped chords and 'white-noised' kickdrum: in and out from the sadness, we hope for better days to come, knowing the loss will leave an everlasting mark in our hearts.

Brain Dance is the debut EP from Sydney artist and Velodrome’s resident dancefloor darling, Posture. Following on from his single ‘Zoom Dates’ released on Velodrome Recordings in 2020, this EP affirms Posture’s ability in creating heavy-hitting techno with heart.

the moment we have waited so long to put this material in physical form has finally come! we honestly dont know much about this guy, but one sure thing is that we been instantly amazed by quality, skills and variety of his music (and quantity too..he filled our pockets with more than 100 unreleased tracks in few days!). not really a common thing. we are really thrilled and excited so to give light and to present this to you. a mixture of styles, visions, messages, speeds, emotions and structures that make his touch and this record an absolute pearl for us. it will be a long and strong relation with this mind we assume!

Quiet Music is a collection of pieces created by Steve Roach between 1983 and 1986 in respect for silence. The gentle electronics of Roach's synthesizers mix with flute, electric piano and nature sounds flow like breath, enveloping the listener in a sustained, delicate and translucent atmosphere. Quiet Music was originally released as a three tape cassette series in 1986 on Fortuna Records and is now being issued as a complete series on vinyl for the first time ever.

After Structures From Silence was released, Steve was receiving invitations to create music for the emerging meditation yoga and healing arts community in Los Angeles. Quiet Music 1 was originally commissioned for a meditation video, which featured a collection of video images of lush forested areas, wild flowers and natural serenity. But by the time the piece was completed the producer passed away and the project was never completed.

Quiet Music 1’s direct connection to a distinct environment set the tone for the trilogy of albums. Quiet Music 2 was inspired by Steve spending a lot of time in deserts and was created as a natural progression from Structures From Silence, and the more nocturnal feeling of Quiet Music 3 were pieces designed for Steve’s personal healing practices.

The Quiet Music series was released in a timeline that is often seen as linear but this music was created directly along side the dynamic fully electronic albums like Now, Traveler, and Empetus. In the early 80’s Steve would be shifting between the invigorating sequencer-percussive driven music and then move directly into weightless drifts and contemplative spaces.

This way of creating grew naturally out of a desire to not settle into one place sonically and to nourish himself with a space that could be creative and fine tuned, creating a calm and renewing zone while living within the hectic pace of urban life in Los Angeles.

Three artists discover the wider field of dark electronic dance music. Although young, these producers already have a big understanding of sound. A sound which is past-oriented but every track has a certain twist which makes the music contemporary and timeless.

On A1 – Dein Letztes Hemd – Nicola Toma from Berlin combines acid cuts with German Vocals (by Camila Strasdas) and a pushy bassline. Nothing else needed. Zurich’s Prioleau opens up a totally new world on A2. ‘Never Trust A Mirror’ is an energy driven tune without compromises. A dark new wave-y and kraut influenced masterpiece.

On the b-side are two tracks produced by Hesychia369, a well-known producer from Zurich under a new alias. With ‘Dmbrisded’ and ‘Diffspherez’ he shows his love for acid basslines and fast rhythms.

Yet more fresh heat from the Soundscape Versions camp and this time round with a special tentrack compilation by different artists across the globe with wide scope of electronic music produced and performed using all analog hardware gear. Release comes out on
c70' cassette and digital.

Italian-producer XXXV gold fingers, a.k.a. Marco Erroi, landing his release on Ràkale, the italian label
running by Dodi Palese. Owner of the Common Series project/label, Marco has delivered 9 tracks
recorded between 2003 and 2007 that we fell in love with at first listen. The fact that they were
created more than 10 years ago confirms the futuristic vision of this talented artist that we have been
following since his first steps. For this project we have also involved the Italian illustrator Pierpaolo
Gaballo who has been entrusted with the cover of this album, just to offer a good product for the ears
but also for the eyes. Get ready to travel in the Marco's world, have a good listen! 12 inch also

With prior releases on the legendary Den Hague label Bunker Records, Antoni Maiovvi now debuts on L.I.E.S. with his occult industrial electronics project, Ye Gods. Through two discs Maiovvi paints a grim sonic picture of a decaying world straddling the line of strange fiction, fokelore and ancient history. Apocalyptic and very appropriate for these modern times, this lp is unrelenting in its presentation of absolute heavy modern electronics...think gothic industrial electro-doomcore that doesn't let up.

In 2015 we stumbled across an EP by a low-profile Romanian producer, which retrospectively was a pivotal event for the development of the label. This record was Serb's 'Transient Recs 1', released via Listen2me from Bucharest. We were deeply touched by the harsh and progressive sound of the tunes, which at the same time were so musical.
After a remix for Fehlzuendung and his LP 'A12 Proceedings' in 2018, things are coming full circle in 2021 as Șerb returns to NDR with 'Transient Recs 2', a collection of tracks produced between 2015 and 2018.

Italian producer Roberto Semeraro aka Pearl River Sound drops his first collaboration with Z.I.P.P.O on Fides called ‘VST Intended’. Combining IDM, Jungle and Acid elements this record reminds of to the early AFX, Luke Vibert , U-Ziq primal sounds. Completing this package on the B side two stomping remixes by Clone Records affiliate Ryan James Ford and Electro mysterious producer 2030.

Following the release of Limewax's Untitled and Speed Dealer Moms' SDM-LA8-441-114-211, Trickfinger and Aura T-09's Evar Records imprint is keeping its foot on the gas, officially introducing the arrival of its sub-label, RAVE4EVAR. Embracing more of an outlaw mindset, RAVE4EVAR was created as a place for rebellion to collide with rave, offering refuge for off-the-cuff releases, special projects and occasional one-off collaborations.

Ushering in the sub-label's inaugural release, RAVE4EVAR is proud to present Chicago-based DJ, producer and new media artist S4M23's debut EP, Angelface. The five-track project, set to arrive on July 2nd via a limited edition cassette and digital download, combines haunting vocals with pounding kicks and rave synths to create a moving take on hardcore. Written and recorded during a weeklong session in April 2020, the creation of Angelface took place during a period of processing grave personal loss juxtaposed with the collective state of chaos, grief and fear brought on by the covid-19 pandemic.

Within that specific period of time, S4M23 channeled intense emotion to reflect how cathartic it can be to honor the connections we build with one another despite how frenetic and heart-wrenching the circumstances of a particular moment or experience can be. Pouring an immense spectrum of emotions into Angelface, these productions eschew simple repetition to create unexpectedly complex rhythms and textures that evoke the sounds of British club music and '90s rave, while simultaneously creating something entirely new.

Releases on Silent Servant's Jealous God imprint in 2015 and the 6-1-6 cassette on Total Black in 2016 served as formative sonic gateways leading up to this album, as we hear 51717 expand on her cold minimalist sound design.

The music on 'Paranoia Star' is a collection of songs composed during various points and throughout travels between 2013-2018. Thematically, much of it revolves around inherited and lived traumas, taken in, processed, and finally transmuted into sound. Shades of modern computer music minimalism, Concrete experimentalists, and good ol' DIY American smut electronics (ala John Zewizz's 'Women of the SS' project) come to mind through this recording. Haunting vocals float next to jagged synth lines, primative pulses set a tone as the message is carried out to the listener.

Field recordings from domestic and ancestrally charged locales mesh with primitive electronic composition, forming a narrative via repetition, moving stillness, restraint, and tension. 51717 keeps her sonic sources hidden, rather focusing on the transmission and decay of overwhelming thematic elements into minor sonic forms.

Here, her work touches on implicit musical tensions between noise and silence, language and sound, material and transcendence.
Unnerving and spacious, yet disturbingly uncomfortable, 'Paranoia Star' emerges slow, furious, erotic, wet with thousands of years of violence informing the whole.

Culminating at 430m of altitude, mount Aïdour has been looking over the city of Oran for centuries. Legendary tales and myths are born in this place that have been inspiring writers through generations. It is there that the seeds and the roots of this record were planted, inspiring me to tell a story as well. 4 tracks about 4 destinations through a country of splendor. From North to South, East to West, from one century to another.Based on local field recordings associated with modern machines, this is the continuation of the legends started generations ago.

Bab is a member of French collectives 404 and Pardonnez Nous. He's currently making a documentary about Algerian Raï music which led him to visit the country multiple times recently and inspired him to do this dark and haunted EP, reminiscing of Muslimgauze.

Clash lands once again on his very own label with a powerful statement: "Nuevo Orden Mundial" (spanish for "New World Order"), a taste of the singular and trademark sound from the Madrid-based producer, but in a very particular way... A release fully oriented to the dancefloor!

Five cuts of raw techno and modular sounds with a rave touch, influences that come together to give shape to this EP. The release includes three original productions by Clash: "Overflow", "Alone" and "Pills"; along with two totally killer remixes.

The first one by the Russian duo PTU (formed by Alina Izolenta and Kamil Ea) who took “Overflow” and dismantled it and then blended it back together to leave their characteristic stamp, a strong and energetic sound, a proof of frenetic rhythms. This track has been an essential part of the shows the duo has been doing live during the last few months.


The second remix comes by the berlin-based italian techno veteran Davide Carbone, better known as D.Carbone. In his "Pills" remix, Carbone injected all of his industrial techno power and translated the track to a rave oriented atmosphere. There's no doubt his remix will definitely be considered a dancefloor anthem for this post-pandemic times to come.

A1 on the vinyl record is "Diety" by one of our resident Esther Duijn, with acid atmospheres reminiscent of the raves of the past, A2 is a reinterpretation by one of the pioneers of techno music, Scalameriya, adapting the original vibes in a blend of futuristic sound design and shape-shifting grooves.

On the other side, "Vertigo" by Ayarcana is an industrial anthem with eerie atmospheres and hyper-speed beats that never relent through the track. Vertigo is remixed by our resident L?VSN, who evokes the illusion of calm before diving into a post-apocalyptic lucid dream.

funky contours, a passionate sound fetish without
compromise as an amorous relation between digital and
analog sound esthetics. Hereby, the elements of sound and
time have inseparably merged. “Texture of Time“ portrays
Karakums attempt to use musical scapes to fuse texture and
time.

Kasper Marott will release his debut album ‘Full Circle’ in November on his own Axces Recordings imprint. The album features 11 tracks that explore different genres and moods while remaining within Kasper’s colourful universe.

Full Circle demonstrates Kasper’s ability to play with layers and structure. The tracks are built from complex layered harmonies, looped melodies and different rhythmic textures. Kasper’s intuitive approach to production, in addition to the inspiration he finds in other genres, his local community and society as a whole, has resulted in an album that feels fresh and unique.

“With the tracks on the album, I think I’ve been through a process of pushing my own notions within contrasts, musical themes, genres, and composition. Whether the musical tool is transcendence, catchy melodies, or silly experiments, the goal is to put the listener in a position that allows an enriching and meaningful experience whether it’s good, bad, funny, euphoric, nostalgic, sore, or even something completely different.”

In 2018, Kasper released his breakthrough EP on Modeselektor's Seilscheibenpfeiler label. The euphoric title track ‘Keflavik’ lit up clubs and festivals all year long and was named “one of the biggest club records of the year” by Resident Advisor. One of the album’s tracks, ‘Sol’, will also be released as an extended version on Kasper’s forthcoming EP on Seilscheibenpfeiler.

Jabal is the title of the forthcoming release by Kendojubaki and Dj Ali through Berlin based Label 'Live From Earth'. The release is the second instalment of the labels Live From Earth Klub series.

'Jabal' translates to mountain in Arabic. It is also where the two artists roots trace back to in their home country of Lebanon. The listeners receive a glimpse of the socio-political issues surrounding the jabal areas across Lebanon through unique sampling

KendojubakiKendojubaki is the pseudonym of Adam Rajab, an Australian-Lebanese Sound Designer and producer currently based in Melbourne. As the son of Lebanese refugees he spent parts of his childhood working in his parents Middle Eastern supermarket. In times of recreation he and his relative Ali would pretend to be an Arabic wedding band playing the tabla and the mijwiz to imaginary dabke dancers.Hatched from these activities and through years of back-and-forth between e Middle East and Australia, Adam has captured a unique sound-language which amalgamates traditional sounds of the Levant with modular synthesis, drum machines and industrial elements of unrelenting vim. His thematic music dwells on commonly unfair socio-political issues surrounding the east and the west, displacement and identity.

As a Dj Kendojubaki's sets are filled with long Arabic intros, old school hardcore rave tracks and tempos above 140. In his own productions and live sets, kendo recombines his sound design influence into powerful and cathartic riddims, along with thick echoes un-natural like drums.

Dj Ali Dj Ali is the stage name for Ali Chahine, an Australian-Lebanese live hardware act currently based in Melbourne, Australia. In his productions, Ali fuses sounds from his archive of field and foley recordings along with 90's hardcore rave melodies to create an emotive flow of fast techno music.As the son of Lebanese refugees, Ali also shares stories of conflict and socio-political issues through his music and art. In 2018 Ali joined the collaborative label 'Al Gharib' with relative Adam Rajab who is most commonly known as 'Kendojubaki's'. The two are collaborating on a 12' release named 'Jabal' in December, released through Berlin label Live From Earth.

LONE - ABRAXAS EP IS A THREE TRACK EXCURSION INTO ETHEREAL ACID

Lone reveals the first physical release on his new imprint, Ancient Astronauts, which has been set up to release new material whilst working on his next studio album.

The three track EP, Abraxas, sees the producer carry out his first experiments with 303 acid packaged up in a breakbeat club tool focused sound – an idea which was sparked from hearing friends playing ‘90s drum and bass at slower speeds than usual.

The result is a rip-roaring trio of tracks, with the heavy bass rumbles and searing squelch of Abraxas undoubtedly cementing the title track as the chosen club destroyer. Young Star Cluster follows up with a marriage of the rolling funky drummer break with bursts of 303 acid and Lone’s trademark empyrean breakdowns before How Can You Tell takes us deeper still, with choral pads opening the door to another chapter in the multifaceted producer’s sound.

The two tunes you find in this debut EP have been fully written and produced by Dino Sabatini in his studio in Berlin. "Modulation A" may be a perfect introduction for the journey. It is a dense, tense ride into a liquid atmosphere of a techno playground. Far to be aggressive, though. Go through it, and you´ll get the essence of "Outis" label. "Modulation B" can be taken as a tool, yet totally undependent by its brother. As a "standalone" track, it can bring the dancefloor into an evanescent state of ghostly fog, self-spreading all around you. But when played over another track, it´s capable of adding the spiral touch of a transparent radiation, like being in a boundless land you´ve never been before

Adopted Berliner hailing originally from the US, Kyle Geiger is not just an experienced DJ and producer, having already released on staple techno imprints Soma, Perc Trax and Droid, but also a budding production teacher via his Twitch livestream started during the first lockdown of 2020. When he’s not sharing knowledge about DAWs and shedding light on diverse voices in the music scenes, he also runs his labels Cubero and Front Left.

Across three techno excursions, collectively dubbed 'Bellhouse' and numbered 1 to 3, Kyle uses recurrent themes and motifs to craft intricate techno rollers in different forms. 'Bellhouse 1' stands out as a peak time dancefloor track, complete with heavy-hitting percussion, a dramatic lead and scintillating hi hats. 'Bellhouse 2' on the other hand comes off as a more subtle, restrained groove, whose nervousness can keep the energy high, while the third track can be found more on the dubby side, with metallic synths and mechanical whirs atop a steadily evolving marching bass. Hosts Rebar take on 'Bellhouse 2' giving it their own spin - distilling its fidgety atmosphere into a more anchored, mind-bending slow burner.

We have invited Albert Chiovenda to give continuity to our series of releases in cassette and digital format, under this interesting series in which we previously published the Portugues CRAVO last February, On this occasion the Sydney native has worked for a total of 6 tracks that make up the ‘A’ side of this work taken from the future, entitled ‘Extravagant Traveler’ Composed of complex FM synthesis exercises, classical percussions and environments from another Galaxy, covering a wide spectrum of sound intentions, ranging from melancholic to sonorous violent .
Chiovenda has been doing a variety of serious, interesting and cutting edge work over the past few years, with major label releases and collaborations with artists like Stanislav Tolkachev.

In this second edition as we did in the first, we have decided to invite great artists to remix the original tracks on the ‘B’ side Border One, Viels, Inigo Kennedy, Divide and Alex Dolby are artists and friends that we deeply love and admire. And they have done a wonderful job that we are very excited about. Each of them has captured his personal approach to the original track obtaining incredible results.

We hope that the result of this release is totally to the liking of each one of the listeners, it has been prepared with much love and respect by all those involved for you.

Cocoon's unique brand of techno has always been at the heart for the operation and now, these brand new and exclusive tracks confirm that once again. Gregor Tresher slips into a more slick and funky drum work out with 'Nostalgia (is The Enemy) and Joseph Ashworth's 'Eavesdrop' reaches for deep space with its distant synth swirls and astral atmospheres. Pig&Dan very much came of age through their releases on Cocoon and here offer an intense cosmic workout with ‘Trauma'.

Our first release is by Jay Clarke, a London based producer and resident of the renowned monthly party. The first release will showcase killer cuts from Jay himself, each showcasing a brand of Techno narrative that's become now synonymous with his contradistinctive sound.

Jay's production methods are by no means homogeneous to one strain of dancefloor Techno, his DJ sets regularly encompass tracks, tools or elements from the broader spectrum of electronic music, and you're sure to find an array of influences in abundance throughout his own productions. So it's not just First Flight by name, it's also First Flight by nature here for Jay.

First Flight features three original tracks from Jay himself and UK producer JoeFarr has been drafted in to take care of remix duties here, and brings his trademark rough- edged Techno sound along for the ride. This really isn't one for the faint-hearted; a great addition to what is a supremely versatile and well-rounded release.

The closing track is a 155 bpm epitaph reminiscent of Czech doomcore pioneers Fifth Era.

In 2016, Pont Neuf Records was born, with the mission of supporting the emergence of a new scene of electronic artists in France. Its first release “Habemus Paname”, bringing together artists like Folamour, Tour-Maubourg and Sweely, marked the label’s first success, accompanied by a launch party in the lair of the legendary Rex Club in Paris. Since then, no less than 25 releases - EPs, compilations, albums - have forged the identity of Pont Neuf, recognized in 2019 by Mixmag as ‘‘one of the French scene’s most essential imprints’’. Fort Romeau provides Phantasy with a none-more-timely rave opus in the form of FWD NRG. Unleashing an unexpected, accelerated side of his immaculate studio experiments, FWD NRG is also remixed with blistering results by AceMo.

Immediately engulfing dancers in breakneck kicks, trancing synths and driven by a vampish melody, FWD NRG’s intent is rich in vintage rave texture, dusty and almost warped. This expertly controlled chaos builds to an epic wormhole of a breakdown, dissolving time and space until dancers find their minds transported to a field near Frankfurt, circa 1994.

FWD NRG could well be the maxim of New York’s AceMo, the prolific New York producer who has earned a deserved reputation as one of electronic music’s most inventive and versatile figures. His monumental ‘N Is For Nrg’ remix locates a menacing undertone in Fort Romeau’s original production, spinning off and hitting even tougher with vast rave stabs and gloriously frenetic arrangements.

For our money the weirdest and most satisfying Regis record in a while, featuring stripped, slow, highly atmospheric & muscular productions that were recorded as part of that mad ‘Let The Night Return’ feature film (regis, performing more or less alone in a 4000 year old, empty greek amphitheatre) here rendered in brilliant monochrome including contributions from Justin Broadrick, Ann Margaret Hogan and the music school chorus of Corfu. Trust, it’s a killer.
There’s something brutally bare and demented about this one, opening with the simmering choral drone ‘Epidaurus’ fizzing with whirring industrial components and rumbling subs, before ‘Calling Down a Curse’ extends to terrifying dimensions with an intoxicating Ugandan Methods style percussive backbone and a slowed down voiceover by filmmaker Vasileios Trigkas, to our ears sounding like Burial as if rendered by Conny Plank as a kind of alternate version to his still entirely unclassifiable ‘Biomutanten’.
‘The Blind Departing’ is a slow headmelter, all industrial synths and exposed percussion, every hi hat and kickdrum separated and pristine, like the toughest, most angular sort of bare-boned warehouse chugger slowed to a crawl. If you shut yr eyes you can almost imagine Alan Wilder and Martin Gore hitting sheets of metal with a mallet on that crazy old Depeche Mode footage that’s knocking about - played at half speed.
Perhaps best of all is the closing ‘Temporary Thing’, featuring Regis, Anni Hogan and Justin Broadrick taking on a cover version of the Lou Reed classic, here extended to HD and sounding fucking ridiculously good. It’s one of the most sought-after pieces of the Regis puzzle, finally available on vinyl here for the first time.

They’re also in demand remixers having been invited by Phantasy to remix Daniel Avery ‘Projector’ and Boysnoize to remix Djedjotronic ‘Take Me Down’, not to mention Rekids for separate renditions of two legendary Radio Slave tracks, ‘Vision’ and ‘Grindhouse’. Together they share a paralleled vision for techno without setting any boundaries which is suitably reflected in all their releases and performances.

Slotting into a scene of Tribal sonics and a Techno atmosphere it almost seems as a new genre if we pigeon holed ourselves into specific categories as if it was 2010 again, but digging into Roska/ Bakongo’s early material, tracks like Roska’s remix of Four Tet’s Love Cry and Untold - Just For You, you can hear early examples of sounds that were explored and tested as early as 2009. Mixing the two sounds of Roska’s heavily stripped back style and Bakongo’s tribal and percussive madness enhances and uplifts what a generation have been complimenting the last 10 years.

Moving forward to this release ‘Bopster / Anytime’ you see exactly where Bakongo is going and the direction where his sound is suited.

Nach Releases auf Label wie Livity Sound, Berceuse Heroique und Peach Discs und der Zusammenstellung der neuen Mother's Finest-Compilation samt Veranstaltungen in Berlin und Leipzig (Februar 2020), legt der Bristoler Techno-Experimentalist Hodge sein Debütalbum auf Houndstooth vor. Die 10 Tracks auf "Shadows In Blue" bestechen mit planetarischer Psychedelia aus natürlicher Percussion, Vogelgezwitscher und einer Zukunftsvision, in der die Natur eine künstlich erschaffene Welt zurückerobert. Diese Elemente lenken aber nicht von Hodge's Skills ab, effektive Dancefloor-Rhythmen zu erzeugen, wie der Keytrack "Ghost Of Akina" eindrucksvoll beweist.

Spencer Parker returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids with ‘The Theme’ EP, the DJ/Producer’s most distinctive single to date.

Comprising three originals and a remix from Pink Concrete, ‘The Theme’ EP sees the Berlin-based Brit known for blending house, disco and techno delve further into his ‘80s new wave influences hinted at in his recent ‘The Love And Sex’ EP for HE.SHE.THEY.

First track ‘Theme’ is Parker at his most musical. With simple piano licks, digital strings and soaring choral swells, this is an anthemic piece that oozes class. ‘Radio Waves (After Dark)’ sees staccato synth leads play off a pulsing bass while the titular vocal sample and aesthetic recall some of Parker’s work under his lauded It’s Not Over pseudonym. Closing the originals is the arpeggio driven ‘The Work Out’, an undulating late-night cut displaying Parker’s penchant for high energy arrangements.

It feels like it’s time to thank the people who continuously give me energy. No matter in which form. Whether as the music they produce, hugs, compliments, mistakes I’ve learned from, encouragements, critical feedback or just listening. As a child, my father often played something on the guitar or on the synthesizer to me. One melody of it was the one from “Time Shifting”. I took a part of the melody and tried to create my own version, stretched in space and time.

The inaugural release from the new Love International X Test Pressing imprint comes from Fantastic Man, the Berlin based Australian whose music has been played by everyone from Aphex Twin to Bicep to Gerd Janson and many more.

Love International make good times happen in far flung places, whilst Test Pressing make good times happen physically and in the digital sphere, a meeting of like minds and shared tastes, all bases covered here. Together this collaboration has been releasing compilation album from the likes of Gatto Fritto, Beautiful Swimmers and Shanti Celeste, and this new label project unites recording artists and designers in a meeting of music and art.

On the ‘Cloud Management’ release, Fantastic Man teams up with Alexander Papoli-Barawati, a German/Filipino/Iranian graphic designer and art director living in Berlin. The striking and playful graphic design is in tandem with the music, which runs from the beautiful piano–led Balearic sounds of ‘Cloud Manager’ to the floating breaks in ‘Lounge Wizard’, the warped chug tempo in ‘Psychic Monthly’ and the beautiful acid bubbles of release finale, ‘Time Apprentice’.

Olive T worked with Tiro! due to her admiration of his use of traditional sounds of the 90's era, sensing he also listened prolifically to 90's house and techno. Tiro!'s remix of 'This Is A Bop' adds organic flare to the original.
A long-time fan of Matt Karmil, she invited him to remix 'Opaque' - He flips the track upside down to reveal a different, but still vibrant interpretation, with his technical approach to remixing.

Olive T has released singles and remixes on Nervous records, 2MR, and on her own. The four track record 'Goin' Up' marks Olive T's first label-released EP, and first release on San Diego-based Bouquet Records.

For the first release, Anetha is inviting the talented Sugar from Fast Forward Productions based in Copenhagen, and her good friend ABSL from Paris.

MTY 001 features two original tracks produced by Sugar and ABSL themselves, and two other ones co-produced with Anetha. More than just “club ready” productions, every track is built like a story that you can also enjoy peacefully at home. Each piece is long enough to allow you to go through different states of feeling, atmospheres, and even be surprised by the evolution and new elements of the tracks. In the A1 « Et le soleil ne vint pas » by ABSL, a tension is created and evolves for several minutes with a sustained and crunchy rhythm that keeps the listener in suspense. Later, the emergence of a dazzling and sparkling melody come to break this infernal cadence and give some space and light. In the end, darkness definitely takes over to crush the last ray of sunshine. ABSL & Anetha blends hypnotic moment and percussive techno drums in the A2 called “Elles”. The heady and repetitive voice plays a leading role between the different parts and finally gives way to let smooth and evocative synths appear. Minds and bodies can feel soothed and enveloped by the softness of the sounds… A perfect way to finish a set. During Sugar’s B1 « Vapouring sun », you can experience at the first notes that something epic and intense awaits you. The track is built with a deep rhythm, some shamanic breathing and outrageous chord progression that make the track feel engineered for special moments only. Please, make sure this is the right time and place to play it! Last but not least, B2 « Candy from strangers » track is a fresh and colourful collaborative track by Sugar & Anetha in which many layers reflect the personalities of the two producers. Sometimes techno, with striking synthesizers and energetic drums, but also trancy with an evolving and singular melody. Very fun and pleasant to play – you’ll see :) The collaborative spirit reflects and animates the graphic part of the label as well. In order to inaugurate the first cover, Anetha invited the talented Helin Sahin who produced a magnificent futuristic piece of art. A precious and organic image that plays with perspective, space and matter.

For the graphic identity, Mama told ya partnered with the great Diplomatie Studio team based in Paris.
