Jewel Kid debuts on Rekids with the ‘Explicit Behaviour’ EP. Malta’s Jewel Kid debuts on Radio Slave’s Rekids with the ‘Explicit Behaviour’ EP on 14th August 2026. It follows two decades carving out his place in the House scene with releases on labels including Abode and Toolroom, while heading up his own Alleanza imprint. He was a winner of the Carl Cox Worldwide Remix Competition and a recipient of the Best Dance Production award at the Malta Music Awards, while his music routinely dominates charts such as the Beatport Top 10.

The title track of Jewel Kid’s ‘Explicit Behaviour’ EP opens with swirling synths, sirens and filtered vocals before erupting into chunky drums, classic piano stabs and crisp percussion, while ‘In The Dance’ channels early Chicago infl uences through hypnotic vocal hooks, tense synth work and bold analogue grooves. Hailing from the hotbed of Melbourne / Naarm, Australia, Let Your Hair Down step out from the shadows for the first time since their 2021 album‘Waiting Room’. The seven-headed cinematic funk group is a conglomerate of Melbourne’s thriving cinematic soul movement, comprising members of Surprise Chef, Karate Boogaloo, Owelu Dreamhouse and Temporary Blessings. The band’s sound is a sturdy mix of dusty minor key funk, off-kilter conguero psychedelia and horn-heavy boogaloo, represented robustly across both sides of the forthcoming College of Knowledge 45‘Pingu’s Anthem b/w Gronk’.

Side A, ‘Pingu’s Anthem’, pays tribute to the tune’s titular penguin protagonist. Emblematic of Pingu himself, LYHD’s horn section sticks its chest out boisterously atop the rock-solid drum feel of Hudson Whitlock. The tune is laced with a resolute flute solo from saxophonist Will Morrissey.

Side B, ‘Gronk’, is a punishing funk cut; relentless rhythm section careening through the tune, punctuated by the metallic, percussive sound of an empty gas bottle being struck. Razor sharp farfisa and menacing horns reinforce this deadly joint as one to handle with care.

Autumn of 2022 marked 20 years since the initial release of Metro Area's first and only album, Metro Area. Environ had already remastered and re-released this essential LP for its 15th anniversary. So this time around, we're doing something a bit different.

To celebrate two decades of Metro Area, Environ has partnered with renowned mastering engineer Matt Colton (Metropolis Studios) to remaster and recut the first four Metro Area 12"s: Metro Area, Metro Area 2, Metro Area 3 and Metro Area 4. Unlike the album reissue, these records include the original, extended 12" versions of all songs, including some which have never been re-released.

Metro Area is the duo's first 12" EP, originally released in 1999.

Wir nannten die Kampagne ,Brighter Days Ahead", denn bei Colemine versuchen wir, immer das Positive zu sehen, wann immer es geht. Also haben wir den größten Teil des Jahres 2020 lang jeden Donnerstag digitale Singles veröffentlicht; dazu gab es virtuelle Listening-Partys und DJ-Sets auf YouTube. Das hat ziemlich viel Spaß gemacht. All diese Songs gipfelten in einem 2-LP-Set, das wir schließlich 2021 in physischer Form veröffentlicht haben. Und obwohl wir hoffen, dass so etwas wie eine globale Pandemie nie wieder passiert, musste ich zugeben, dass ich einen Weg finden wollte, die ,Brighter Days Ahead"-Kampagne zu einer Art dauerhaftem Projekt für uns zu machen. Während ich das hier schreibe, ist es das Jahr 2026 - offensichtlich habe ich also ein paar Jahre gebraucht, um diese Idee zu entwickeln, aber wir sind endlich am Ziel angekommen und das fühlt sich verdammt gut an. Die Idee ist ziemlich einfach: Der erste Band von ,Brighter Days Ahead" verfolgte einen rückblickenden Ansatz _ eine Zusammenstellung dessen, was wir bereits veröffentlicht hatten _ und dieses Mal verfolgen wir einen vorausschauenden Ansatz. David Rodigan MBE and Defected Records announce the release of House Of Roots; a specially curated three-track remix project by the legendary tastemaker, DJ & broadcaster, reimagining Defected classics as they’ve never been heard before.

House Of Roots has been born out of a partnership that’s blossomed since David first touched down at Defected Croatia in 2025, with his performance becoming one of the defining moments of the entire festival. After returning to Croatia for this summer’s festival finale, Rodigan - this time armed with the House Of Roots remixes - delivered another landmark set, underlining exactly why he remains such a revered DJ & selector.

The House Of Roots project reimagines Defected’s rich catalogue through the lens of reggae, dub and drum & bass in a celebration of music genres that have continually inspired one another throughout the decades.

Enlisting legendary drum & bass originator Shy FX, jungle maximalist CLIPZ, and fabled dub reggae producer & engineer, Prince Fatty, to remix three of the label’s seminal records - Fish Go Deep’s 2006 classic ‘The Cure & The Cause’, Soul Central’s ‘Strings Of Life’ (2004) and The Vision’s ‘Heaven’ (2019) - House Of Roots marks some of David’s most important and intriguing curatorial work yet.

Francesco Messina is perhaps best known for his split album with fellow composer Raul Lovisoni, Prati Bagnati del Monte Analogo, originally released on the seminal Italian label Cramps in 1979. Along with contemporaries Franco Battiato, Juri Camisasca and Giusto Pio, Messina helped reshape the world of modern composition with an organic rawness and haunting beauty.

In November 2023, Messina performed Prati Bagnati live for the first time in Milan, Italy – along with pianist Michele Fedrigotti, who appeared on the original LP. The concert was a tremendous success and led the composer to further reflect upon the music he made over 40 years ago. From his home piano – a hundred-year-old Schimmel with magnificent resonance – new pieces began to emerge out of these meditative sessions.

As Messina says in the liner notes, "The idea of making a new album wasn't the driving force at all; what mattered was trying to reconnect with the 'freedom' I had experienced back then while creating that music. I started over without haste or deadlines, simply trying to find a deeper, inner connection."

W.25TH / Superior Viaduct is honored to present Le api dell'invisibile. From the hazy drone of "For Florian" and the title track to the gentle swells of "Letter for an Absent Friend," the album is a lush amalgam of new age and ambient minimalism that is vividly reminiscent of Messina's earlier work.

The title draws inspiration from a famous reflection by Austrian poet Rainer Maria Rilke: "We are the bees of the invisible. We ceaselessly gather the honey of the visible, to store it in the great golden hive of the Invisible." It is a phrase that has long shaped the way Messina looks at his music – transforming lived experience into sound, making audible what normally eludes the eye.

The fourteenth release on Early Morning brings Roy Rosenfeld back to the label for the first time since its second. The two years in between have not had a quiet stretch in them: new singles every few months across 2025 and 2026, and a touring year running from Mexico City and New York through Paris, Barcelona, Ibiza and Amsterdam to Montreal, Santiago and Buenos Aires. He is back in New York on the day this record goes global, and in Amsterdam for ADE later the same month. What arrives here is two long-form pieces, 15 minutes and 15 seconds together, both built on patience and both written for rooms where there is time to stretch out.
New Life takes its time. A full minute passes in suspended texture before the groove arrives, and when it does it carries the weight of everything that was withheld. The track moves in patient cycles, stepping away briefly at its midpoint before opening into an extended central passage where the rhythm withdraws and the harmony is left exposed. The return is the payoff, and Rosenfeld holds it to the final bar rather than letting it fade.
Seven Three Eight begins where New Life arrives. It is in motion from the first bar, with no preamble and no easing in. The low end breathes in long swells beneath a top layer that keeps shifting, and two breakdowns punctuate the arc without ever surrendering the momentum. It closes at full stride, running the seven minutes and thirty-eight seconds its title names.
Two tracks, near identical in length and opposite in approach. EARLY014 is a record about pacing, and about a producer who trusts the long form to do the work.

Aura Safari are taking it back to the source with new album Spaced Out Disco on Hell Yeah. The eight-track record is inspired by the iconic sound, feel and studio techniques of the original 1970s disco and was played entirely live with real instruments.

Aura Safari are Andrea Moretti, Lorenzo Lavoratori, Daniele Melloni and Nicholas Iammatteo, and they have been releasing EPs, LPs and remixes on this label since 2020. They have long been entrenched in the local scene of Perugia and are live specialists with a unique chemistry that allows them to translate funk, jazz, soul, disco and house into their own timeless and universal musical language.

Integral to the album is the live performance aspect. All the band members hooked up in the studio and played together, often laying down tunes in one take and then adding some post-production for a modern edge. Disco, dub, jazz-funk and instrumental grooves define the sounds while the creative use of classic delay, echo, spacey FX and dubbed out arrangements lead the record the same Jamaican character that inspired original dub-disco pioneers like Arthur Russell, the Compass Point Studio and labels like Prelude and West End.

'Starlove' opens with low-slung grooves and squelchy bass that twist you inside out before 'Spaced Out' shimmers with astral melodies and synths that rise like a rocket disappearing into the night sky. Funky claps and flashes of Dexter Wansel-inspired soul complete the picture, while 'Santa Barbara' eases the pace with a brain-bending dub workout full of weighty low-end and warm, sun-kissed chords. 'Cosmic Affair' lives up to its name, gliding through the galaxy on uplifting guitars and slinky drums, all wrapped in irresistible retro-futurist magic and lit by the moon.

'Disco Mirage' turns inward with simmering bass, dusty open hi-hats and hazy synth trails drifting through effervescent jazz keys that rise like champagne bubbles. 'Magik Space Dust' stretches towards the stars with soaring leads and knotted bass locked into an effortless groove.

Spaced Out Disco does exactly what it promises and plots a richly imagined journey that never stops looking towards the stars while keeping its feet firmly on the dancefloor.

Their new studio album, ‘Tales From The Silver Lounge’ is based on overheard conversations between the clientele of The Silver Lounge, a rather louche café/bar in an unnamed city on an unknown planet much like ours, and in an unknown time, though the decor tends to the late 50’s, early 60’s.

Tresor Records is delighted to welcome Rod Modell to its catalogue, with the release of his new album Captagon.
Rod Modell needs no introduction, his various projects render him a master of techno. In repetition and barely noticeable change, Modell resculptures perceptions. His sound-design echoes cinematic ethereality, where ferric artefacts slam against percussion, rusty delays filter observation - the resulting web is a complex, radiating ambience that etches a natural ebb and flow.

Modell singularly uproots standard sonic hierarchies of techno production, crisp static as forceful as his beats, a provocation of rhythm and noise. Unceasing in its fast tempo, “Jade” is trademark Tresor business - the seismic sub-sonics underpin a momentous drive, with reverberated vocal inflections disfiguring warped, dancing materials. “Scrawler” is upfront and direct, a slamming groove and swaying chords di using ethereality. Where Modell’s recent releases had indicated a priority for ambient sounds, this new album extends Modell’s essential vision within techno. Closing track “Air-Port” shows Modell at his most crucial best - an ethereal colossus of sub-bass weight and morphing geometry.

Magazine Announces 15th Anniversary Remaster of Barnt’s Techno Classic Geffen

Cologne-based record label Magazine celebrates the 15th anniversary of Barnt’s visionary anthem Geffen. One of electronic music's most defining tracks of the 2010s will be reissued in a 2026 remaster edition, marking the first time it receives its own dedicated standalone release.

Originally published on the legendary Cómeme imprint as part of the Various Artists EP The Power Of Now, the track rapidly became a global phenomenon. Looking back, one can hardly imagine Geffen without the 2010s, or, conversely, maybe even electronic music of that era without it. The composition mirrors the expressive possibilities of bedroom producers at the beginning of that decade—an era where artists could launch tracks into the world and have them resonate through their sheer sonic power, without major marketing efforts.

Barnt remembers: "It was one of my earliest tracks. I had just entered art school and didn't own much equipment. My MIDI keyboard only had two octaves. I would always play notes with my right hand while simultaneously shifting through the octaves with my left. This is how the hook line came to life. The production only consisted of seven or eight stems, and barely any equalizers were used during the mixdown. In hindsight, this sparse approach to production probably made it sound different and is why it hits so hard on big sound systems (while sounding unfinished to some on YouTube). At that time, we were doing a small festival on a playground in the center of Cologne. When I played the CDR there, Matias Aguayo demanded it right after. That is how it ended up on Cómeme."

The release comes with two very Magazine-esque reinterpretations from the label's two other co-founders alongside Barnt: a powerful atmospheric club remix by Jens-Uwe Beyer, and Magazine Hallucination, a wild, collaborative, psychedelic mutation by Crato and Beyer.

Jörg Burger, who already mastered the original track, is also responsible for the mastering of this release.

After the worldwide techno hit that was Darc Marc's "Dirty Rocking Bass" comes the next Cluster X instalment from French legend GANEZ THE TERRIBLE. "The Rave..." is another prime time techno monster from the Acid Techno/Techno underground that is going to cause massive dancefloor mayhem with its cheeky 'The rave, the sound, the people, the party" sample and hard funky beats and 303 stabs. With pounding remixes from D.A.V.E. THE DRUMMER, and new kid-on-the-block SEON, and a kicking bonus track "Elevator" from Ganez himself this gives a nod to all areas of harder techno.

Yes, that’s right ODF’s summer transfer to the Shall Not Fade main label is complete. ‘The Rhythm Grooves’ makes a hat trick of 12”s for us after the UK OTW producer’s double sell out EPs ‘Deep Step’& ‘Rock With Me’ on our Time is Now imprint. The UKG and grooving breaks specialist has been developing his game and steps into House territory for something of a statement EP and we’re (hot and) here for it. Since launching his own On Da Floor label last year ODF has been on a tear and this record perfectly encapsulates why. Four double threat tracks that can be weaponised both as main stage WMDs or as deadly 3am tickets to another place....

This invisible dichotomy is most clearly on show in title track & A side opener ‘The Rhythm Grooves’ is equal parts hot under the collar and hands in the air. Deep and sexy house but with a stepping baseline and a big vocal. ‘Free Your Soul’ stays deep, a swung jacking house cut with big M1 stabs and piano riffs and cheeky breakbeat breakdowns. That palette is timeless and there’s every reason this track will be too.

The B-side leans more into sweaty room & heads down territory but just like before there’s that double threat and we’ve seen both these tracks go off in big rooms at peak time. ‘Back to Mine’ calls back to that sweet spot in the early 2000s with French Touch inspired tech house was dominating Ibiza...Sleazy and sunbaked? Check. But what we didn't realise was missing w as some Accieeeed. Big shout from ODF there.. ‘Do You Feel Me?’ closes out in celebratory style. A proper tech house tool complete
with chugging bassline and more sexy breathy vocals. It’s the after hours roller.

A serious note to close, because I don’t want the playfulness of this press release to make you overlook this (sexy) EP as it’s appeal is more than skin deep. Having sat with – and lusted over –these tracks for a while I can tell you that they just get better (and hotter) with every outing. The Rhythm Grooves is out 28th August 2026 on Shall Not Fade.

In this post Sounds world, the boundaries of Post Punk have not only broadened but splintered. And over the course of (now) four releases, Index For Working Musik have seen to using the sprawling boundaries to great effect, flexing a polyglot of styles to convey the language of the moment. On Which Direction Goes The Beam, the murky, distant ambience that was 2023's Indexé has been fleshed out, incorporating everything from the Brian Aldiss laced, ground lightning shudder of Dome, to the chamber-like arrangements of This Kind Of Punishment. There's even a candle flickering in the window for Think Fellers Union Local 282 that warmed these ears. And if you're a fan of the great Dutch band, Trespassers W (who isn't?), the collective consciousness IFWM enunciates on here is a similar testament of a band growing more sure footed in the pursuit of not only knowing all the ways in, but carving a few of their own on the way out. Some things in life are meant to be consumed whole: a perfectly paced movie, an oyster at Whitstable Bay, a novella on a sunny afternoon. Into this pantheon of singular experiences comes Runners, the second album from London instrumental rock quartet Dog Unit. The follow-up to At Home, the band’s cult favourite 2024 debut album, Runners moves seamlessly across its 42-minute runtime. It finds the quartet – comprising Sam Walton, Henry Scowcroft, James Weaver and Lucy Jamieson – crafting tracks that undulate, churn and yearn in service of a greater purpose as they plough fertile fields of sonic storytelling. Made over the first four months of 2026 at the band’s studio in Limehouse, East London, Runners finds the core group, alongside producer and long-time collaborator Mark Estall, operating with greater ambition and scope than ever before. This time they commissioned a string quartet specifically for this project, and reappointed noted experimental bass clarinetist Heather Roche, as well as taking in a cavalcade of instruments at their studio, including vintage synths, drum machines, pianos, and harmonium. The band’s music is often compared to cinema, and if At Homewas a charming micro-budget indie flick bursting with potential, Runners is a widescreen realisation that stands up to repeat viewings.

Originally released in 2006, Rendezvous is a rare, dub techno track released by Nao AKA DJ Compufunk from Compufunk Records in Osaka. Working under the name Lovegod for the first and only time, he created a timeless epic for a live set at the legendary, short-lived underground club "United Underground ??? (Tsurunoma)".

Now revived 20 years later by Richard Akingbehin’s Kynant Records, Priori contributes a dreamy rework and Janeret slows it down into a crisp dub version to complete the EP.

The twelfth release on Early Morning is a collaboration between Fauxplay and Anthony Pappa, two producers whose shared roots in progressive house give the record its coherent, unhurried identity. Four tracks, nearly thirty minutes, built around a single piece and its transformations.

Forever Seeking is the foundation. A seven-minute arc that settles into its groove with patience, opens into a melodic break that creates genuine space, and returns with a drop that carries weight without force. The Ambient Mix closes the record as its quiet resolution - the same melody stripped of rhythm, allowed to exist on its own terms.

Between them, Simon Vuarambon contributes two interpretations. The Remix maintains the emotional core of the original while moving with greater urgency, cycling through two distinct breaks and drops across eight minutes. The Dub Mix takes a more stripped approach, emphasizing space and low-end, giving each element room to breathe.

This is music for the later hours, where the dancefloor and the inner world become the same place.

Following his recent appearance on Blueprint, Mark Broom returns to the label with a unique project, revisiting the work of techno pioneer Regis. Entitled "Power Is Neutral", the release sees Broom rework a selection of seminal Regis recordings originally released on Downwards Records across the albums Gymnastics (1996), Delivered Into The Hands Of Indifference (1998) and Penetration (2001).

Known as one of the key architects of the Birmingham techno sound, Regis (Karl O'Connor) helped shape British techno through his work as co-founder of Downwards Records and a catalogue that continues to influence generations of artists.

For Mark Broom, few artists embody British rave culture quite like Regis. Drawing on source material that has long stood as a cornerstone of UK techno, Broom approaches these edits with both respect and imagination. As Regis puts it, "Mark Broom is like some modern day Bagpuss... he has fired up his techno mouseorgan and polished old relics to make them all shiny and new."

Power Is Neutral delivers six expertly crafted reinterpretations that bridge the raw energy of Regis' original works with Broom's unmistakable contemporary dancefloor sensibility, bringing these timeless tracks to a new generation of listeners.

Y-TRAXX'S "MYSTERY LAND" RETURNS ON VINYL WITH NEW REMIX BY ROY ROSENFELD:

The legendary trance anthem Mystery Land by Y-Traxx returns to the spotlight. First released in 1995, the track achieved iconic status after featuring prominently in the 2000 box-office No. 1 movie Kevin & Perry Go Large. The original track is now being reissued on vinyl. The release includes the Original Mix, the classic Sickboy Courtyard Mix, the Søluna Remix - winner of the Beatport Remix Contest - and a brand-new remix from Roy Rosenfeld. Available from 3 April via Serious Beats Classics.

With its hypnotic melodies, driving beats, and mysterious atmosphere, "Mystery Land" became a symbol of the 90s trance scene and grew into a cult classic. The track was picked up worldwide by influential DJs, including Paul Oakenfold, and featured prominently on his mix album Perfecto Fluoro (1996).

The new remix by Roy Rosenfeld brings a fresh, modern take to the iconic track, preserving the emotion of the original while adding a powerful peak-time, sunrise energy. Rosenfeld comments: "Remixing Mystery Land was an honor for me. I've loved this track for many years, so the process was very natural and fun. The vision came quickly, keeping the emotion of the original and pushing it into a peak-time, sunrise energy."

KRONOLOGI 2 is ionnalee’s second mixtape album, collecting twelve alternate versions, demos, live edits and previously unreleased recordings from iamamiwhoami and ionnalee. Originally released as a series of individual singles throughout December 2024, the collection is presented here as a limited physical edition featuring all twelve tracks alongside the accompanying watercolor artworks painted by ionnalee. The sonic movement once known as downbeat continues to cast a long and intimidating shadow over the Austrian electronic music scene, with influential figures like Kruder & Dorfmeister reigning atop a metaphorical mountain of venerable dubplates, resembling ancient gods.

Now, emerging from the depths of this mountain, comes "Triangle," poised to rejuvenate the genre with its eponymous album, brimming with the purest liquid downbeat gold.

Featuring an abundance of dusty breaks, reggae vocals, atmospheric keys and strings, dub stabs, wonky acid sequences, and deep basslines, these tunes check all the right boxes without ever feeling like mere imitations. Hell Yeah welcomes back Tonarunur for an EP of future-facing Balearica straight out of his native Iceland. Someone Else EP is drawn from vast production archives and reveals two distinct sides to his sound, with artwork from Planet Luke.

Tonarunur last appeared on the label with a track for the Buena Onda compilation in 2021, and has also released his unique blend of electronic boogie and space disco on Citizen of Vice, Eskimo Recordings and Whiskey Disco. Whether laying down horizontal Sunday sounds or soundtracking the dance floor, he always brings a strong sense of personality.

Both A-side cuts feature Norway's bass player Arctander, starting with opener 'Someone Else' is a lithe mid-tempo groove with a playful, wriggling groove and sun-dappled 80s keys. The blissful 'Dawn' unfolds slowly through liquid rhythms, gently broken beats and cosmic melodies awash with good vibrations. On the flip, 'Lundur 1' drifts into the stars on shimmering pads and floating grooves and is romantic yet melancholic, before 'Lundur 2' closes with a more grounded rhythm and wispy melodies tracing patterns across a starry night sky.

Equal parts sunset escapism and after-hours introspection, Someone Else EP drifts effortlessly between the club and the cosmos.

Some say industrial hardcore is dead. If that were the case then this one is for sure the one to bring it back to life!

On the A side we have Send You To Hell. A 175BPM monster containing almost everything both Sei2ure and PRSPCT stand for. Driving pounding kick drums, catchy hooks and that perfect dose of snare drum warfare making this the perfect track to kill it on both Hardcore & Drum & Bass events. Huge track!

On the flip we have Push The Prozac. A 190BPM beast tune pushing up the tempo a bit without losing the groove and that dark Industrial vibe we love to death and have been missing so much.

Techno mainstay Gary Beck drops hugely sought-after cut 'Hopper' on SHDW's Mutual Rytm sub-label Spectra, with remixes from KiNK.

Glasgow-born Gary Beck is a primary figure in techno and has been for well over a decade. Dropping seminal
underground classics and cultured full-lengths on an array of leading labels, as well as his own BEK Audio imprint,
he has also led the way as a revered DJ as his legacy continues to build. Now, adding to his standout 'Upside
Criminal' EP as well as his well-received track 'Fold' on the 'Federation Of Rytm III' VA, he returns with a record that
has often featured in both his and Mutual Rytm boss SHDW's sets, stepping out on the label's Spectra series with
a cut that has long been sought-after by those who know.

A spontaneous studio moment turned club weapon, the timeless 'Hopper' merges a syncopated disco bassline with
subtle nods to funk and classic dancefloor energy. It's one of those tracks that lingers in your head long after the
night ends - a pure embodiment of Beck's raw energy and production finesse built on an infectious groove full of
contrast and character.

Bulgarian synth wizard, hardware genius and tireless innovator KiNK delivered Spectra's inaugural release, so he
lands as the perfect person to remix. His first interpretation stays close to his roots with a house-leaning, slowed
down take that channels warmth and groove in equal measure. On the B2, however, he flips the script with a high
octane fusion of techno and UKG. It's a peak-time anthem engineered to ignite dancefloors and closes out a
standout EP with the third release in the Spectra catalogue.
