RELIGIO is back with FNR, four visionary tunes from deep dark dream to lightness unconsciously enchanting.

The 4th release of u.dig catalogue sees Mariano Mateljan teaming up with Lorenzo Chiabotti, resulting in 2 low end heavy cuts.

Popping The Cherry of 2020’s latest modern-contemporary record label; Step Ball Chain, is Roza Terenzi with “Stylish Tantrum”. Suggestive title to set the tone; the 5 track EP insisting sharp, sassy, high-tempered bombs with full bodied bounce. Unexpected tempo and timing variations, flared-up bpms, half time drum cuts and slicked modular flourishes, Terenzi’s signature cheek ramps up to an extra twisted club climate, atmospheric and evocative in texture as always. Featuring collaborations with D. Tiffany and Saoirse, the release covers extended dancefloor territory, assertive anthems delivering femme finesse, choreographed to perfection.

The A side fires up with an exuberant 4-by-4-2-the-floor routine, Cosmology. Vocal cuts from the queen Fiorella, billowing bells and dramatic synthetic sweeps to form fluidity over the tight bouncy low end. Whilst flirtatious melodic notions come and go, zip-lock percussion and commanding drumwork hold it down; squeaky steeze not-so-politely letting you know what’s to come. Deceivingly dubwise introductions soon furiously interrupted with Stylish Tantrum. Ricochet rhythms and bone breaking clap backs echo around your head, electrifying percussive fills and vocal spills snatching your attention before the everything glues together vicious harmony, baseline pulsating underneath a whiplash drum display - one for the dangerous deejays.

Chosen Family Feud opens the B side, a collab with seasoned associate D. Tiffany, showing off a bossy stomping brigade. Mumbling voices, waspy sirens and spooked out synth lines haunt the beginnings of the track, stripping back to a bassline breakdown before wailing vocals and clattered percussion take over, cymbals bursting. B2 is a moment to reflect, Illusions brings the energy down, low slung metallic backbeats thrown over encompassing, effortless pads and soaring resonance. The downtempo atmosphere crept up on by a double time d’n’b re-jig, softly gliding in over the growling sub, chopped breaks reflecting and falling. Closing out the record is another joint effort, recorded in Melbourne with Saoirse; Sxc saloon dashing back to the dancefloor, hot and deep. Throbbing bass married with slick galloping drums, sensuous fleeting whispers looping to draw you into hypnosis before a climactic tempo plummet intended to turn heads. Things are what you expect of LARJ: Driving high quality tracks with an emotional twist, a nod to the luscious moments on the wooden dancefloor. — DC Salas is thirtysomething year old Diego Cortez Salas, a skilled talent with peruvian origins hailing from Brussels. His four-track EP „The Complicated Art of Dreaming“ delves into classic territories, an eclectic amalgamation of his musical inspirations in 15 years of digging and DJing. A regular DJ at C11 and Kiosk Radio both in Brussels, Diego also co-runs Biologic Records with his mate Abstraxion since 2014.

Four years after its foundation, the Berlin-based label Druzhba is celebrating its anniversary 10th release with four original tracks by the melody master Rinaldo Makaj (RORA, Elephant Moon).

As we celebrate Steyoyoke’s 8th Anniversary, we’re releasing an 8-track EP showcasing some legendary, original cuts by the label’s artists.

The first track on this EP is “For Good”, by Earthlife featuring Eleonora. It begins with a peaceful, melodic soundscape with angelic vocals adding the sense of enchantment throughout the track.
Next, "1984", by Darko Milosevic is a pure ethereal track, rich in melodic and synth layers that is sure to fill you with emotions. Soul button is next with "Gamila", a dreamy track pushing your mind and soul into a higher state. “The Journey" by Clawz SG, a diverse track, indeed a journey in itself with its dark and raw beats. Nick Devon follows with "Long Gone", with echoing layers feeding the listener with suspense and melancholic elements. A module is a replaceable complex element in an overall system that forms a closed functional unit.

This complex element is his musical building block for his new release MODUL.

Several modules form a three track vinyl in best minimal techno manner.

The A side contains the track MODUL which is defined by a massive kick drum and a booming bass. Additional psycho elements turn the track into something freaky and kind of sick.

On the B side is the track QUADER. A fine little dance floor killer with a slight touch of tech house elements.

The second track of the B side is called IKOZA starting off a bit quiet but developing into something way more powerful than expected.8

Na Zrak Records presents its second vinyl release called Oriental Karma by Amsterdam based Involuntary Movement.
The genre Involuntary Movement propose is a kind of minimal jazz house with influences even techno characterized by the important groove and a very new sound. Surely it is a very recognizable sound and different from what is mainstream but we also like to involve artists coming from other musical worlds in our project, however, to try to give a product as colorful as possible of all the nuances that music can have.

While 2020 has been a pretty bleak year, the Utopia Music family has come back and this time it’s a really meaningful release for the crew. The 25th instalment to their back catalogue features collaborations between the late Andy Skopes alongside Madcap. Here are a few words from the people responsible for making it happen:

Elliot (Madcap): “Recording with Andy was always a pleasure. We had worked on a few tracks in the past & my first vinyl release back in the early 2000’s was a collaboration with him. We’ve developed a great friendship over the years & talked about getting back in the studio. ‘Tap The Bottle’ included in this EP was the first one we completed out of about 8 tracks. All recorded, finished & signed before his deeply sad passing. This 12” is one of the most emotional projects I’ve been involved in & of course I miss Andy a great deal. I’m pleased to finally have a release on Utopia & want to express my appreciation to Mako for believing in the music & letting us do our thing. Peace x”

Stephen (Mako): “This release means a lot to me in many ways. Elliot and Andy were originally penned to have the first release on Utopia so to get a 12" with them after 11 years is a dream for me. The music stays true to what both of them have held so dear for so long, this 90's vibe of 808 sub bass, breaks and sick samples. Andy is missed every day and I see releasing their music as a celebration of his life rather than a mourning of his death. I must send shout outs to Madcap for being an absolute badman, I have huge respect for you brother x”

Confirming the label s emergant position as the home of purist, highly-distilled club weapons, See Through marries a muscle-bound groove to arching synth strings and sci-fi encentricities for a hypnotic juxtaposition, followed closely by Passive - another roller to completely loose yourself in. Flipping over, the producer explores a dystopian wasteland populated by cavernous reverb-drenched claps and a nagging, mutant synth chord, whilst Disrepair flaunts Coates budding trademark electro strut, with bellowing kicks, crisp snares and futuristic undertones all in check. "

n line with its concept of presenting a new generation of artists with distinctive sound identities, the second release on ara will come from Adiel. Following her latest « Cavallina » EP made in collaboration with Donato Dozzy, she returns with « Musicofilia », her first record outside her own label. Due on July 26 2019 on Kangding Ray’s new label, this EP will enthrall listeners with its intricate rhythms and captivating underlying melodies. Adiel delivered tracks which will suit a variety of spatio- temporal dynamics, while still crafted for the club. The repetitive motives are the EP’s core, pushing further Adiel’s research of hypnotic patterns and raw textures. « Musicofilia » conveys Adiel’s exploration of dissonances colliding with abrasive beats and soothing melodies. Adiel’s research behind this release is rooted in Oliver Sacks’ book « Musicophilia: Tales of Music and the Brain » (2007) where the neurologist author depicts the cognitive effects of sounds, addresses the impact of repetition in music, and its power to move and heal us. « The Call » starkly highlights the wistful tone of the record, when « Vanishing » offers a dense soundscape underlined by an irregular rhythmic structure, leading to the title track, unfolding as an overdriven club jam. « Rednight », with its throbbing pulse, gracefully concludes this EP by channeling its melancholic, yet sharp spirit.

Germany's rising newcomer DJ and producer Desroi will deliver his debut album on Semantica by early November. He has gained wide attention with his Dwell in Motion EP on Avian in 2018. Each artist has a special story to tell about their musicianship. Techno producer Desroi, who in every day life goes under the name Frederic Lindemann, has a relatively no-nonsense one. Observing from the outside, his production process seems to be one of tight structure and focus, holding great modernistic vision. Desroi studied Composition at Folkwang University of Arts - parallel to his already ongoing career as a DJ, producer and label owner - having graduated in 2018. His craftsmanship combined with a more theoretical academic view gives him a distinguished position on the scene. Desroi is curious about exploring the bridges between contemporary music and techno, and he recently said he is less interested in arrangement, melodies and harmony, and much rather focuses strongly on textures, rhythms and new sounds. Listening to his compositions these quotes makes nothing but sense; Desroi's techno is entrancing and layered but holds no unnecessary clutter.

Following up on Luke Hess brilliant 12" from last year, Supercinema is now back with another stellar release, from sleeve to groove wrapped with passion and emotions.

Belgian native Martin Respaut aka Foreign Material joins the Supercinema family for the labels third outing, a four-track strong EP, full of dreamy poly-rhythms, mesmerizing and colorful sounds that will put any dancefloor into a trance.

Since first surfacing the scene in 2016 under the name of Foreign Material Martin has been releasing music on a plethora of renowned labels like Curle, Circular Limited and his own Co-founded label Norite. Martin describes his music as a link between the past and the future, a mix of ancient myths and future visions.

To complete this release label invited Crossing Avenue, one of the central projects of Donato Dozzy's and Neel's Spazio Disponibile label. Duo is known for their subterranean ambiance in their productions which perfectly reflects on their interpretation here.

Supercinema was founded in 2018 in the south of Italy and is run by Graziano Umile and Alfredo Mazzilli. "Based on a dream translated into a storyboard".

Rumour has it that in the mid 90’s NASA thought they intercepted the first recorded transmissions of alien life. It was believed to have come from a species far more advanced than humankind, and sounded like acid. Aliens on Acid. The origin of the sound was the production duo of Tony Pegas & Don Corrieri, AKA Alienage.

In a basement somewhere in Baltimore, circa 1995, the pair found themselves deep in an acid trip experimenting with synthesisers and drum machines. What followed over the next two years were seven records that warped bodies and minds, released through the iconic Gargoyle Records. The sound was directly informed by countless nights on the dance floor, showcasing trippy, hard-hitting breaks and rolling bass lines that have since rattled speakers for decades.

For the first part of their white labelled, ‘Editions’ series, AGT Records are putting out four tracks from this era, remastered and ready to blow. The A side features two unreleased tracks that perfectly sum up the unique Gargoyle brand of dance floor firepower, starting with “Mindreader” a killer rhythm assortment composed of signature Alienage elements, followed by “Funky Dreamz” where a proggy acid baseline takes over. On the flip side are two tracks which are nearly impossible to get your hands on, including “House Rhythm”, a collaboration between Don and DJ Who and the “Shitty Samples” remix from the legendary “Who’s Who” remix compilation put out by Defective Records in 1996. The music propels forwards, with acid lines that swirl around sharp breaks and pulsing baselines, each capable of igniting any modern day dance-floor.

All the tracks on this EP showcase the best of the Baltimore rave sound. 25 years later they have found their way back onto the turntable, all in good time.
