After the great welcome of the first two releases supported among others by Raresh, Peter Inspirescu, Ricardo Villalobos. The enigmatic ViceVersa is back with the third chapter of this adventure full of mystery and fascination.

This highly anticipated release by Los Angeles based artist, AXKAN, delivers a powerful message to the techno underground, letting everyone know this record hasn't come to this point by mistake. With powerful remixes by Luis Flores, Pinion and RolandoHödar to support, AXKAN delivers a strong statement with 'Tension', a techno masterpiece with broken industrial rhythms that is bound to shake floors, and crack the surface. He masterfully creates some true and raw emotion, with his dark, sinister and gritty sounds that is guaranteed to grab attention from the beginning. Axkan's self-confident creativity, however didn't come alone. Techno heavyweight Luis Flores provided a remix that is nothing short of spectacular. He encapsulates Axkan's raw, dark noises, and completely manipulates them into a gnarled and twisted rendition. Pinion's remix perfectly complements the release in a cohesive way to get the dance floor moving. His unique characteristics include a deadly vicious groove with glitchy vocals combined with deep melodies. Aerotek founder, RolandoHödar, had to get his hands in there, with his industrial techno breaks remix to add to this ferocious ride. With all tracks united together, this EP is rooted with serious energy and will undoubtedly tear speakers apart. It exploits experimental to traditional 4X4 percussion workouts and is definitely worth listening.

Cadans' (solo) debut on the Basement Series. Rough!

Michael Mayer. Credited by many as one of the leading tastemakers in dance music, his DJ sets have influenced a generation (or two) of musicians and fans out there today. An artist that has never allowed time or age to slow him down - Michael Mayer remains tirelessly motivated behind the DJ decks, in the studio or behind his desk at Kompakt, the company he co-owns. Last year's full-length LP, '&', was Michael's fourth, a departure that saw him extensively collaborate with an impressive host of contemporaries and friends, including Joe Goddard, Prins Thomas and Agoria. Complimenting these excursions perfectly, Michael's long overdue contribution to the legendary DJ Kicks series finds the Cologne artist in just as generous of a mood, only rooted in his ever-expanding record collection, and above all, his defining instinct to share the beauty of music with others.
'On an abstract level, the approach was basically the same for both projects', observes Mayer. 'For & I put together a group of people that are close to my heart. For Kicks it was a group of records that are like friends to me. All of the tracks I used went through heaven and hell with me. They've become true companions. Circling in on and bringing together these friends was the only criterion for the making of this mix. I wanted it to be as personal as possible.' Perhaps unnervingly to some, fifteen years have passed since the debut edition to Mayer's breathtaking, scene defining mix trilogy, Immer. Not that it's legacy - Resident Advisor's #1 Mix of the 00s, one of Rolling Stone's 30 Greatest EDM Albums Of All Time - has disturbed Mayer's formidable workload. A catalogue of no less than 23 EPs, 4 albums and 170 remixes informs a near constant level of international touring. Exhausting as this can be, even after all these years, it's a ritual that informs the delicate construction of Mayer's contribution to the DJ Kicks series.

Discarded Gems is a series aimed to the discovery of rejected musical gems, buried in live sessions, noisy tapes, old digital system, and reserve them a dignified space on a plastic disc.
The first release is a man-driven machines excursion in multiple shades of house music. Riding acid basslines, rooted rhythms, crackling samples and inherent chords progressions are the foundations of this EP.

The 99th release on Moon Harbour comes from one of the label's new school heroes, namely UK artist wAFF. He serves up a brace of brilliant tunes that get complemented by a fine remix from label regular Butch.

In recent times, wAFF has really established himself as one of the beacons of main room house and techno around the world. From standout sets at key Ibiza clubs to gigs at fabric, London via big underground hits on labels like Drumcode and Hot Creations, he is a real man of the moment.

First out of the blocks is 'Wormhole', a rattling, loose limbed percussive house track with playful and wonky synths screwing off into the distance. Always restless and never sitting still, this is a body shaking groove to make whole dance floors move, and as ever the production is as fun as it is functional. Remixing is the one and only prolific music making machine that is Butch. The veteran German-Turk's most vital version burrows deep into your brain with woodpecker hits pinging about as the flappy drums surf and skate along below in infectious fashion.

wAFF's other original, 'Manuka,' is a nine minute masterpiece that builds tension throughout, never letting up. Streams of white noise release a little pressure, but the crisp, upright drums and swooping synth stabs really keep you on your toes. Deep but physical, it's another off-kilter charmer from wAFF, and it rounds out another essential EP.

B-Tracks aka John Barera & Soren Jahan are in charge of the first release on Berlin-based label Regular Expression. As the name of the EP suggests the two hardware-addicts indeed did work something out. As a result they deliver these four raw cuts on DJ-friendly 180g vinyl.

* Dom & Roland's Label has gone from strength to strength from its conception in 2006. Featuring collaborations by Dom with other Artists such as Noisia, Hive and Amon Tobin the label has continued to push sonic boundaries whilst staying true to it's ethos of 'not selling out'. It is currently in A ' Dubs from the Dungeons' Phase releasing sought after unreleased music from the 90's from various accomplished artists every month on limited edition gold vinyl.

* INVASION - DOM & ROLAND

Dom was once asked by Nico of No-U-Turn to do a remix of Ed-rush's Mothership. Dom set to work, he had already smoked a lot of spliffs that day, and the tune took a turn towards the sci-fi film Dom had just been watching before he started. At the end of the session, Dom realized he'd forgotten to use any of Ed-rush's sounds, so he decided he'd keep the just finished track for himself, as it had turned out alright! As he'd already written 'Mothership Remix' on the DAT tape and promptly lost the sharpie he wrote it with...The name stuck, until now, 20 years later, when it was decided it should be named 'Invasion' instead.

*REVENGE - DOM & ROLAND

Originally made to be a DJ tool for several of the blue note DJ's including Doc Scott and Peshay. This 'quite mellow for Dom' roller became an often played fixture of the Hoxton Square club.
Dom felt the switching bassline from clean to distorted as well as being the pinnacle of dopeness echo'd how his then girlfriend would 'switch' at him for spending endless days and nights in the studio.
Revenge was another tune lost, until several years ago, when a bunch of Dom's old DAT's turned up in a box under his mate's stairs, alongside an N64, 4 controllers and a copy of 'Goldeneye'.

* DJ PLAY: Fabio, Grooverider, Peshay, Loxi, Andy C, Break, Fierce, Doc Scott, Dbridge, Goldie, Ant TC1, Gridlok, Marcus Intalex, SB81, Ulterior Motive, Noisia.

* RADIO PLAY: Radio 1, Radio 1Xtra , NRG, Noisia Radio, Many other radio stations around the world.

Hot Since 82 (Defected, Get Physical) gets back with his second 'Hot Jam'
record - another powerful fourtracker for your pleasure.

limited vinyl only 2x12" !

Makaton, who made his Blueprint debut in 2015 with 'Nothing Can Be Held In Our Hands For Long' as well as an appearance on this summer's Blueprint anniversary compilation with the track 'Slur', now returns to the label with a 4-track EP, 'When The Dead Rise From The Sea'.

As expected from the Rodz-Konez label head, Makaton (Steve Bailey) who has also been delivering cutting-edge techno on Token and RSB like the recent 'Defiler' surrenders 4 categorical cuts of distortion and destruction. From the experimental introductory 'Durdle Dor' (named after the natural limestone arch on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset) Makaton sets the scene before launching into the foreboding rise of 'High Priestess'. Flipping over, 'Coast To Coast' drives the EP onwards with deep techno beats before the refractory 'Through Fire and Water'.

'When The Dead Rise From The Sea' is not just an EP to slaughter the dance floor but also a self contained slice of Makaton's dark artistry which follows its concept throughout.

In 2009 Synus0006 and Maks launched a new electronic music label called Panel Trax Records. Panel Trax Records is based in Hungary, Budapest but it has grown international due to its producers and its trax which are being played all around the globe. The label is releasing trax in the spectrum of techno, minimal, experimental, acid and dub .
We are opened to oldschool and new things as well and we don't want to follow the actual trends. We just focus on the atmosphere and sounding. Panel Trax are deep...monotonic...raw...complex....dark...4/4...glitch...dirty...clean...distorted

* Horizons' back catalogue is one of the most definitive across the full spectrum of drum & bass, bringing together records which have graced sets throughout its formative decades. Well known for their collection of ground breaking artists, their next release features a duo whose music stands the test of time and who remain pillars drum & bass's techier sounds. Unknown Error's hefty offerings on the likes of Lifted Music and Renegade Hardware still do damage in clubs today, but it's their daintier delivery on Horizons which is seeing this vinyl release remastered for 2017.

* With jagged-edge breaks, 'Yearning' explores the idea of liquid which still manages to aurally bite its listener. The track is yet to weather, toeing the line between the euphoric undertones of a late-night roller and the hard-hitting sounds of their Renegade and Lifted days. With deep, moody dancefloor feeling and cutting edge sound design, Unknown Error know how to sonically manipulate their music, presenting a perfect juxtaposition of dark and light. They make an impact without overstating their presence, a skill which takes years to refine. The experience Unknown Error wield together has helped them to remain an important part of drum & bass today

* 'Midnight Special' pushes the same stringent standards, with a sensibility that shines through each segment. It's the type of record which Horizons has pedestalled from the beginning, helping them to become a leader within their field. With jazzy, groove ridden undertones and calling synths, distorted vocal falls amongst its layers like a spectre. Tinny drums help bolster the composition, maintaining its heavier flow. Once again platforming the same ingenious juxtaposition, Unknown Error prove that over ten years on, their records remain timeless.

* Horizons Music are still releasing tracks of the same calibre but as they approach 100th release, it's a nod to their background and how they're able continue the same standard, paying homage to their roots and giving back to fans who've stayed with them from the beginning.

A Side 'Glitch in the system'
'The arrows... everybody's got their own arrows...' Style Wars, New York city, deep dub and train writing.

B Side 'Security breach'
Rocking the train yard, keeping the spirit alive. Nothing more fun than a whole car in the sun, but beware of the dog! Future Bass sounds for reckless boys.

Marcelo Rosselot's « Fela » is a slamming organic techhouse track with an insane bassline that pushes your belly to meet
your spin and trance-ish roots african percussions that make you loose control of your body on the dancefloor. More than a track, a mantra.

Someone Else's edit invites you to a darker, colder journey, a more mechanical way of thinking and doing house music, but efficient as hell.
Even your mother would dance on that hypnotic remix. Two « must have » tracks to turn dancefloors into trancefloors.

Killer techno reworks by Maarten Mittendorff (Indigo Aera) of last year's tracks Fyr from Cosime.

Once upon a time ... close to a lake in a small village named Lenz. Pleasant silence filled the air in this idyllic lake land of Mecklemburg. A gentle breeze blew and the tree branches quivered to its pulse. Listening closely, one could hear the soft purl of the lake. A distant spring storm raged through the night, supplanted by the majestic rise of a red fire ball rapidly approaching the illuminated firmament. Breaking through the last shades of the night, gentle birdsongs pierced the solitude of the almost virgin nature. Emerging from a humble and picturesque cottage, soft electric melodies are carried through the cosmos to invigorate and titillate our senses. Four years after their successful debut album 'Dark Orbit' (May 2009), the DJ-Duo Heinrichs & Hirtenfellner prepare to release their second album called 'Lenz'. In defiance of breakup rumors, their latest stroke of genius promises to arouse spring feelings for all electronic music fans. In the summer of 2011, acclaimed DJs, Alfred Heinrichs and Sascha Braemer, had already conceived the initial ideas of their new album. In the meantime, the pair kept busy working on solo projects and remixes for various DJs and labels as well as keeping active international careers. Last spring, in order to increase and intensify the creative process of the project, the two Berliners expelled themselves from the noisy and restless metropolis to an isolated timberland bungalow. Leaving all forms of communication behind, they were delivered pure inspiration from the soft sounds and impressive backdrop of Mother Nature herself.

Sometimes it takes a little longer until things happen. Talking the conjunctional studio joint of Martin Landsky and Marco Resmann entitled 'Lava", now released under their collaborational project Landsky & Resmann, this single is one that has been overdue for quite a while and for a reason. A reason and shared history that essentially helped to shape and add momentum to Marco Resmann's career at an early stage a good 13 years ago when he wasn't even known under his real name but used the artistic alias Phage DJ- and production-wise. It was back in the early noughties when Marco Resmann sent out a demo to Martin Landsky and his former label Intim Recordings which he admired musically, got through and the tracks that were picked are now known in the history book of electronic music as 'Volkspark E.P.", his first ever single release that became the output number 009 on Intim Recordings back in 2002 and, if you will, the foundation on which Marco's production career was built. Now, after all these years in which Martin Landsky became one of the mainstays in the Poker Flat Recordings-family after folding his own imprint whilst Marco Resmann built a huge reputation on the international DJ-circuit and co-founded Upon. You Records, they finally teamed up in the studio for 'Lava", a single piece as timeless and essential as it can get. On the A-side we've got 'Lava 1 , a quite pumping and deep technoid piece that is fully aware of the seductive grooves only stripped down House music can provide. With carefully crafted build-ups, melancholia-driven strings and moody modulations this one's a true force on the dancefloor, using only very essential elements and razor sharp hi-hats to get a whole nation under a groove.
