House Vinyl New Releases - News

There has been a musical changing of the guard in Vienna the last years. Over due too some would
say. Out with old crusty chilled downtempo and elevator music and most definitely in with new
exciting and innovative electronica, be it Hip Hop or House or Techno. Much of this has been
because of the new breed of club and party people who have taken risks and brought over from
overseas very cool underrated and forward thinking producers and DJ's to play at their parties. This
has influenced a new generation of likeminded musical factions and cliques in Vienna who are now
producing passionate and quality beats too. One such label is Luv Shack Records and apart from
organising some of the cities best parties, they now see fit to express themselves through the
medium of vinyl and digital downloads with a roster of local talent.
LeSale opens things up on the EP with 'Make Me Feel So Good'. Strong Disco overtones that hark
back to the days of the Garage and the Loft. Disco in its purest and most sensible form was always
just about a groove, and this has a groove. Minimal piano and vocal loops take nothing away from
this gorgeous groove either.
Burnin Tears continue the Nu-Disco theme with 'Confessions'. A punchy almost reggae trance
with the big claps and a massive gospel shout out that really do light up this energy laden track.
Vienna is definitely in the house though with some tight echo and reverb filling the holes.
On the flip, we get more sophisticated and deeper with Jakobin & Domino, two very exciting
producers that have had some nice sounds recently on Easymoods out of Graz. These guys always
add plenty of atmosphere to their music and 'Night Glow' just oozes the savoir-faire with some
soft acid and a little late night Detroit.
Last but not least, Lee Stevens & The Beautiful People drop one of those mid tempo monsters that
never feel out of place these days. Dropping the odd cowbell and with short and thick basslines that
really do stick, this ends up being a really tight channel and groove.

For Jayda G, joy is a state of mind. Whether she transmits it through her upbeat productions or magnetic energy at the decks, the Canadian-born DJ and producer, real name Jayda Guy, is a beacon of empathy on the dancefloor. It's no surprise, then, that Jayda G's DJ-Kicks mix captures the buoyant spirit of the music that has influenced her most. "DJ-Kicks has been a personal goal of mine for a really long time. I've been a fan for decades now. I remember there was one mix by Chromeo and it had some French disco on it that always stood out in my mind," she remembers. Clocking in at just over an hour, Guy's mixtakes you on a journey that moves through loved classics and new bubblers. The mix contains Jayda's Brand new single "All I Need", the follow up to Grammy Nominated breakthrough single "Both Of Us", a slinky house tune co-produced with James Ford that fizzes with shimmering energy. A rallying cry for kinship and understanding, Guy's insouciant vocals insist "all I need is you to hear me", gliding across the perfectly swung house beat. "Because the mix was made during the pandemic, I thought, 'What music makes me happy?' I want people to feel like they know me. I wanted it to be approachable, still honouring the disco and soul music that I love. I hope that translates in some shape or form."

Team Schatzi's racking up another batch of tracks, this time for a game of eightball, and we've got one for each pocket on the table.

Little bit of classic crackly disco, little bit of freaky funk, little bit of heavy-duty house, all handmade with a whole lotta love in the hometown of Brooklyn, New York.

Run the table with these disco diamonds. Just don't sink the eight early, alright?
Signs point to Schatzi!

A new year dawns, fresh hope for humanity.

Yet demagogues spout falsehoods and bile, confusion reigns, truth becomes a relative concept.

Adelphi Music Factory are back with the facts.

People Everywhere: Euphoria unleashed after 12 months of pressure. Indescribable joy as hundreds of strangers become one. We are dancing again. Can you feel it?

Sisterhood, brotherhood, freedom, peace.

B.O.S.H EP was made shortly after Bassam and Mehdi M met, the label approached them with this project and the idea was to experiment with Italian house / rave sound. The challenge was accepted and both artists had to think out of their confort zone and experiment, giving birth to 4 banging tracks that will most certainly break the dance floor.

Black Loops have previously released on labels like Toy Tonics which brought them fans like Groove Armada, Huxley, Art Department and of course Audiojack who signed them to their own Gruuv Recordings, this their second EP for the label see's Riccardo & Gabriele unleash three new bombs featuring a remix from Emanuel Satie.

DJ Boring finally drops his Winona track on vinyl super lush deep houz action for the club! backed with a deep freakout jam from Miagma on the flip!

Hot on the heels of his acclaimed debut, The ‘Clubber’s Paradise’ EP for Ghost Recs, DJ Pipe launches his own Global North imprint with another varied and dynamic four-tracker for your turntable.
“Sunrise Fiction” sets the tone for the EP, with Pipe employing his signature sound-palette of tumbling congas, chunky sub bass and FM synth chimes. A2’s “Fragile Transit” may be familiar to listeners of a certain recent Truly Madly mix - house organs and filtered sax ascend into orbit before being washed away by blissed-out stabs. Properly versatile gear for the warm-up, main slot or crack-on.
Over on the flip, “Gallery Showcase” takes things darker via maximum bass-weight, whispered vocal snatches and abundance of swing, while “Touchstone (Alright)” rounds out the EP in atmospheric fashion with shimmering strings, echoed finger-snaps and its cascading main riff: a late-night odyssey into the deepest realms of house.

The producer, multi-instrumentalist, DJ and label head from Bogota´, Colombia is nothing short of a phenomenon, effortlessly fusing complex sound combinations from Jazz samples to flowing pianos and acid basslines into hugely exciting and unique house records.

He delivers his new EP “Superimposition”, released on French label Noire & Blanche in May 2022. An eclectic collection of solid deep house club burners (Ventana Al Tiempo, Inherently Deep), acid breakbeats (Superimposition) and soft afterhours hip-hop downer (Feeling All Over It).
Gordon’s ability to blend complex jazz instrumentation with acid-licked basslines, golden-age house aesthetics and the cultural sounds of South America is unrivalled; creating a distinctive and beautiful EP.

Featuring Stewart Who?

Twistedmp3 is a main room heaver cleverly utilising the never before used vocal sample of the 90s hard house classic - Twisted ft Stewart Who. produced by antipodean DJ legend Groove Terminator, its throbbing hypnotic groove propels the tune and keeps asking us to get more and more twisted. On the B-side comes the essential dark acid instrumental rub from Techno DJHMC doing what he does best. For fans of Fatboy Slim's 'Star 69' and HMC's own 'LSD'..."

Moments are not just a series of events but also the music label and the brainchild of Guy Mantzur. So far, all of the releases by the record company have been mind-expanding and eye-opening. Attention to detail keeps the A&R in a constant search for the next big thing, drawing attention to the artists playing at the events. The new two- track material hardly comes as a surprise. It is always great to have Guy J behind the decks, and when it comes to his jaw-dropping audio production, he's in a league of his own. The River is a piece that opens the release, and Guy J joins forces with Astrix in building a new visionary sound. Many producers reach the point where they have too many great tracks to fit into a live set. Astrix reached that peak twenty years ago. And then he just kept producing with even more passion. Famous for his eruptive trance production and praised by critics and fans, Astrix delivers an extra dose of psychedelia, stretching the borders of genre classification. The closing track, Tree of Life, is a solo piece by Guy J, displaying his latest studio techniques. However, the material is far more than just an ear candy for the audiophile nation. The nine-minute arrangement skillfully takes the listener into the unknown, exposing the deep emotional power along the way.

When talking I:Cube it is hard to avoid superlatives. The french maestro is surely in your favorite producers top 3 producers list. Nicolas Chaix delivers the goods since the mid 90s. From inventing French House (see "Disco Cubizm" with the help of Daft Punk for reference) over the massive 12" dancefloor-madness of "Prophetization" to the perfect warmup track "Falling" he manufactures dance music that is unpretentious, classy and most of all: eternal. In a nutshell: we are true I:Cube disciples. He twists "Hurting" by Iron Curtis & Johannes Albert in a heartfelt way. File under Melancholic House. For the hard working DJ - Bonus Beat included. We carry on with Frank Music chairman Johannes Albert and 3 of his latest dance mixes. Now let the arpeggiator speak and the dancefloor holler.

The very first release of Aterral Limited is coming all the way from Vancouver; “Rainforest” is a collection of new material from favorite Jesse Bru. A blend of feelings, brought together through a shared love of House and Deep influences.

Making his Aterral inauguration, the Canadian producer tees things off with his trademark cinematic vibes, where the music appeals to the old school sound but has a modern feel too, which makes it very exclusive.

In anticipation of Kerri Chandler’s forthcoming album Spaces and Places, his first in 14 years, that sees the New Jersey legend celebrating club and soundsystem culture by recording, writing and performing a track in twenty-two of the worlds most distinguished nightclubs, Kaoz Theory drop the first in a series of vinyl album samplers.

Sampler 1, a limited-edition picture disc vinyl of only 1000 copies, sees two UK institutions from the North and South spotlighted. First up, Kerri finds himself in London’s cavernous Printworks, recording ‘Never Thought’ - a classic Kerri, piano fuelled groover, tough, melodic and perfectly accompanied by Sunchilde’s vocals.

On the flip, ‘You Get Lost In It’, recorded at Manchester mecca, The Warehouse Project, channels the electric vibe created by those hallowed surrounds. A deep, heads down heater with sultry vocals from Lady Linn.

This classic Len Lewis record is just as relevant today as it was when it originally came out over 20 years ago. It is his first release and it surely has his name written all over it, delivering an early version of his signature groove. Both cuts stand out as instant classic tech house tracks, making it difficult to choose which one to play out.

It’s now being reissued on hot new label Physical Education run by Baldo, making it the label’s second release.

Here comes the first release of re:earth records!

Local DJ delivers 5 golden house-ish tracks, with echoing synths and evolving rhythm structures. A refreshing EP that puts you in the right mood.

French live trio, Oden & Fatzo’s chart topping, house smash hit, ‘Lauren’. A bootleg experiment that got out of hand, Oden & Fatzo’s Radio 1 A-listed single is the accidental hit that everyone is talking about.

So how do you go about making an ‘accidental hit’, by accident of course... The track came about when French DJ Fatzo tried to demonstrate the difference between an edit and a remix to his dad, “... I took a song from the band Men I Trust, sped it up and added a drum beat and violin. After playing it to Oden, they loved it, and in turn, added their secret ingredients.”

Unlike the name might suggest, Oden & Fatzo consists of three people: The Parisian underground collective are a powerful fusion of the electronic live duo Oden, and house DJ Fatzo. Back in 2020 a bootleg version of ‘Lauren’ was uploaded to the YouTube channel of the electronic label Novaj, kicking off an unforeseeable wave of enthusiasm. That video is now approaching 3 million views. Enthralled listeners begged for a commercial release, a year later Ministry of Sound/B1 cleared the sample and the track started its march across the airwaves and up the charts.

With its captivating beat and nostalgic catchiness, ‘Lauren’ makes up for the party nights lost to the pandemic lockdowns, and sees people dancing in their homes and on the streets, as concerts, parties, and live sets are finally making a return. As the trio put it: “This song was all about hope, freedom and a party atmosphere at a time when you couldn't go anywhere. We think it gave everyone who heard it a little bit of an escape, including us.”

Meanwhile in the UK, the track has seen early support, not only by names like Franky Wah, Danny Howard, Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Jax Jones, Jodie Harsh, HUGEL, Bakermat, Cut Snake, Salomé Le Chat, Piem, David Gausa and many more, but also by the incredibly ecstatic party crowds.

Peggy Gou releases a remix package of her acclaimed 2021 'I Go' single, it’s a stellar release featuring some of the most respected names in electronic music - Soulwax, DJ Koze and Maurice Fulton.

Named by Pitchfork as one of 2021’s best electronic releases among a host of other accolades (“Her vocals are gentle, but her promise of persistence (“I go I go, I go I go”) feels powerful. Throbbing drum machines further bolster her energizing message, turning a personal pep talk into a lull-crushing banger. A six-minute ’90s dance megamix that feels 10 minutes too short, it definitely goes”) Peggy’s original was an incredible piece of club-focused electronic music that showcased her love of 90s dance anthems. The remix collection has been personally curated by Gou herself, choosing some of her favourite heroes to put their own unique stamp on “I Go”

Peggy Gou: “I love 90s house music - which was a big inspiration for I Go - and I love remix culture. For these remixes I reached out to some of my favourite artists and they really delivered! Soulwax, Koze and Maurice are dance music legends and the results are sick”

I Am Free sets the tone thanks to shimmering hats and a looping underlying groove, opening neatly into Paris Is Ok with its pulsing synth lines. Then Get Out Of My Life rounds things off, a low-slung, well-aged house number.

The track that comes to you courtesy of Montreal-based multi-instrumentalist Priori is a tripped out soundscape of kaleidoscopic surprises. Yet the lush cascading sounds and pentatonic hints demand a delirious limb movement from even the most reserved of listeners. The magic that Priori brings on board has been shaped by his prior exploits eternalised on highly acclaimed releases for Dust World and NAFF.
