featuring an array of artists including Ursula Rucker, Nina Rodriguez, Lisa Fischer, Cindy Mizelle, Anane and Josh Milan, it’s journey for over six minutes, an epic piece with three songs in one. The first release on Lapse Records welcomes DJ Gonzo & Dr. Yes, aka Klein / Melchner, and Sasha Zlykh for a four track Split EP. The label was recently created by Jessica, the now Berlin based DJ, co-founder of Headroom Festival, and founder at the female led music project Rhythm Sister.

Klein / Melchner, both known for their solo alias output under Patrick Klein and Michael Melchner, along with other collaborations such as the KMR trio and Omega Men moniker, they kick things off on the A side with their latest venture with two tracks, “Buran“ on the A1, neatly followed by the more spooky low end “Ekranoplan”.

Sasha Zlykh takes lead on the B side with two collaborations between friends. Opening up with “Every Week”, a techy dancefloor collab with Troy, followed by the tripped out roller “Happy Trance” with Trippsy on the B2. “Work it stupid. Every week.”

David Swatten self released the "South EP" under his Planisphere guise out of Australia back in the year 2000. The 4 track 12" of ultra deep tones and smoky piano musings only found its way into a handful of owner's collections. A few copies resurfaced much later in 2017, with Dave himself selling his last few remaining records via email orders gathered through the online treasure trove that is the We're Going Deep Facebook group. For Those That Knoe promptly got in touch with Dave to talk about a potential project and it can now be revealed. The beats and groove reaches a climax and goes into a frenzy percussion solo played live in the studio by Kenny Dope.

Louie Vega bounces off the beats and percussion solo with a bouncing bassline and hard hitting stabs taking this seven minute and fifty nine seconf track into the stratosphere.

compilation, label boss Sarayu offers up the fourth entry to
his More Rice label, entitled ‘Pridi 303’ – four acidic cuts for
the dance§oor. His quiet, yet steadfast dedication to the
studio is showing clear signs of technical progression as
well as beginning to illuminate his own brand of solid
grooves and soaring pad work. Whilst the airline industry
remains in turmoil, Sarayu’s productions taxi quickly and
land smoothly with minimal turbulence, transporting the
listener between the different countries and styles that make
up More Rice. Opener, ‘Adventures of a Dream’ brings
together a subtly distorted 303 pattern and a twinkling synth
riff, set against the backdrop of a thoughtful pad designed to
space-out dance§oors across Asia. Next up ‘PBIFH’
continues the 303 motif, this time laying it over a supertough, broken kick drum pattern that eventually leads into a
twangling arpeggio synth pattern. On the B-side ‘Constant
Jam’ is a late-night electro, boom-bap excursion which draws
on crafty synth and acid lines to dazzling effect. Rounding
off the EP is a peak-time, four-to-the-§oor remix of
‘Adventures of a Dream’ from Hong Kong based and coowner of Klasse Recordings Mr Ho, a masterclass in building
momentum for maximum dance§oor impact.

In the first instalment of House For The Soul, Feedasoul
Records welcomes French powerhouse onto the A side.
Un*Deux comes in hot and heavy with ‘Hurry’. This track can
only be described as a dancefloor-smashing groover. Acidriddled basslines, a classic four to the floor rhythm and
uplifting vocals result in an absolute cracker. Next, is none
other than Joss Moog. ‘’Peanuts’ delivers a straight-beat
masterpiece. A driving low end cutting through flaring hi-hats,
sexy vocal chops and movement-inducing chords provide a
beautifully-balanced and driving track. Concluding the A side
in style, Workerz comes in with groove-inducing heavy
percussion that perfectly overlays his drums, vocal chops and
a brass section for that extra touch of soul; beautiful through
and through. On the flipside, Koba Maru brings in the heat.
Vibrant chords, tasteful percussion, soulful vocals and a rolling
bassline support a 4/4 rhythm. Finally, Harvey touch returns to
Feedasoul with ‘Despacio’. What better way to end this VA
than with an all-out groover. Swanky Funk chords, soulful
woodwinds and a bumping rhythm section is all it takes.

Launching earlier this year, Sef Kombo and Louie Dunmore’s afro house imprint Sondela has already started to build an impressive catalogue of releases from rising stars and established acts of the genre. Now Sondela deliver four of the label’s early releases on a special 12” package, featuring David Mayer’s ethereal remix of Mr. V’s ‘Fire La Chocha’, the evocative and deeply atmospheric Saint Evo remix of Native Tribe & TTAN ‘Ancestor’s Calling’ and the stunning ‘In Control’ from Karyendasoul & Zhao. Closing out the package is the label’s debut release ‘Ezizweni’ from Berlin afro house advocate Hyenah featuring DJ Tira & Luke Ntombela. From when he got his first multitrack recorder as a teenager, Jesper Ryom has been conveying moods through all kinds of genres of music. Over time, this has led the Berlin-based Dane to create a swirl of evocative, yet danceable atmospheres, drawing inspiration from hip hop and weaving in samples from an eclectic music collection. His sound is as emotive and climactic as the post rock that defined much of his musical upbringing, and while his music has been played for the dance floors around the world, his own private persona will rarely be found in clubs.

It was 2010 that marked the beginning of a steadily growing catalogue of intricately assembled house tracks, conveying both buoyant dreams and melancholic moods. A homely perfectionist at heart, Jesper has made the rare choice of saying no to most gigs to focus instead on tracking down whichever sample or coincidental noise that can express the current state he is in – for the benefit of himself and his dedicated following.

Groove Access Presents: "Chicago is Home" a Chicago House Compilation straight from the source. Limited 200 copies / chrystal clear transparent vinylNot much information is available about Librah aside from the fact that the outfit hails from Sweden and that they released the critically acclaimed deep house twelve-inch '2BWU' on Parkwest in 2012, that brought the Deep House EP of the year for those true Loft heads and lucky clouds. 'Out of step", 'Timeless' music. Librah's follow up release on Yore Records is a sure sign of quality, however, and, true enough, My Love is 4ever is what every House Set needs. The perfect balance between deepness and punch. The release splits two Deep House tracks across its twelve-inch, transparent-coloured vinyl sides (limited to 200 copies), and supplements them with a digital-only bonus mix of the title cut. The material's mood is largely one of joy and uplift. The silky smooth title track quickly locks into its snappy house groove at the outset, and then pulls back the curtains to let the sunlight pour in. A bright theme imbues the skipping pulse with flavour, and the track rolls along for seven quietly jubilant minutes, its carefree spirit bolstered by a dreamlike vocal refrain and luscious synthesizer textures. Unspooling at a slightly slower BPM, the B-side's 'Gravity' opens with a sampled voiceover of grave character (When you live in a poor neighborhood, you're living in an area where you have to have poor schools / When you have poor schools, you have poor teachers...) before fixating on the tunes insistently swinging and hypnotic instrumental design. The digital mix of 'My Love is 4ever' packs a punch, too, especially when it pounds a bit harder than the original and sweetens the deal with a funky bass part and a twinkly keyboard riff.

Limited repress ! Motor City Drum Ensemble's DJ Kicks mix is the latest installation into the outstanding discography of Danilo Plessow, and is not to be missed. The addition of a selection of MCDE exclusive tracks, and the majority of tracks being rare pieces of music from Danilo's personal collection make this a mix of not only exceptional mixing capability.Danilo was always incredibly young with things. He started producing at the age of eleven—'way too early' as he jokes—having his first release out just five years later: Inverse Cinematics' 'Slow Swing', released on Pulver Records in 2002, and ended up finding its way into Ricardo Villalobos' record bag as well as onto one of the first Fabric mix CDs. An album under the same name and a string of EPs followed. Dailo's latest releases, the Motor City Drum Ensemble's Raw Cuts series in 2010, had the house music world responding strongly to the charmingly fresh and dirty sounding tracks, all mixed down in spontaneous two-hour sessions. Danilo has also released on top labels ranging from 20:20 Vision to Rush Hour as well as his own MCDE and Four Roses imprints, produced for Ben Westbeech and Rainer Trüby and never ceased to amaze with his challenging remix work for artists like Caribou, Jazzanova, DJ Sprinkles and Zero 7.

His understanding of how the parts of a track can work has never been more apparent than on his DJ-Kicks mix. In 10 years, playing 80+ gigs a year, including such temples as Berghain, Fabric London, Rex and MOS, he's absorbed dance history through hard and disciplined work behind the decks. Look at the opening selections of his DJ-Kicks mix to get a glimpse of his amazing ability to fuse totally disparate sound aesthetics into a coherent whole.

With the next months holding an extensive tour schedule for Danilo, dancers around the world will be able to experience his gift as a selector first hand. That is, before he gets back into the studio to start working on his first album as Motor City Drum Ensemble as well as a live act. All this will prove, just as his DJ-Kicks is doing now, that there is no such thing as stagnation in the ever-evolving cosmos of Danilo Plessow!

Two consecutive #1's on the Beatport Top 100 has taken this special series of releases from strength to strength. Combining Techno's new breed of heavyweights with the perfect classic track, is a formula Renaissance are getting right time after time. Following on from Solomun and Tale Of Us's outstanding contributions, Renaissance turn their attention to the ever-evolving Maceo Plex for a remix of Remake's iconic 'Blade Runner'; a track featured prominently on the very first Renaissance compilation in 1994.Eric Estornel aka Maceo Plex has become well known for his mind-bending Techno sets and releases under various guises such as Maetrik. 2011 saw the Ellum Audio boss, release his debut album under Maceo Plex on Crosstown Rebels, 'Life Index' was met with critical acclaim and propelled the North American to success. Leading to him starting his own label Ellum Audio with a distinct Techno sound, whilst releasing his own music it's served as tool to champion those around him seeing releases from upcoming acts such as Agents Of Time and Shall Ocin.Speaking about the ReMix Maceo Plex, explains his love for the Neo-Noir Science Fiction Film Blade Runner's soundtrack and the inspirations behind the track:

'The original Vangelis, soundtrack for the movie Blade Runner is my all-time favourite cinema soundtrack and one of my favourite records from the early 90's is the cover 'Blade Runner' by Remake.' - Maceo PlexThroughout time artists, musicians and designers have all paid homage to the cult classic movie and its soundtrack which has inspired the minds of many. Now taking his opportunity through the ReMix collection, Maceo Plex has delivered a timeless edit for the Renaissance collection series. You cannot say Nu Groove without saying Burrell. The seminal New York House label that existed from 1988 until 1992 was at the helm of a sound that was as much traditional as it was transitional. Since the closure of the Paradise Garage in 1987 and before the „NYC House sound“ was well-defined and fenced, Nu Groove was a kaleidoscope and an amalgamation of everything that informed it until then: uptempo r&b, reggae, dub, disco, freestyle, techno, jazz, and the sound that was embossed by Larry Heard in Chicago that was so well picked up in the Big Apple, you name it. Ronald and Rheji Burrell provided its basis, first floor and roof. But that story has already been told by our dear friends from Rush Hour, including its most important chapters. But we are going to tell a new one.

Rheji Burrell presents N.Y. House’N Authority & The Utopia Project. Twelve tracks split over two EPs on Running Back. Named „Out of Body Experience“ and „The ’V’EP“, it features all new music that feels like modern garments cut out of a classic cloth. Almost as if the Nu Groove would have never stopped. And that it is - at the risk of self-praise - all that old or new fans and also we could hope for. Two EPs full of deep-that-doesn’t rhyme-with-sleep house music, has simple, yet clever arrangements, features jazzy sounds, but snappy drums, merry melodies and glossy grooves. Tenderlonious has proven himself to be one of the most versatile and
uninhibited artists in music today, blending genres and multi-instrumentation with style and ease. Whether it be jazz fusion with his band Ruby Rushton, Hindustani classical with Pakistani quartet Jaubi or deep house, electro funk and ambient electronica in his solo studio productions, he has accumulated a back catalogue of releases

Celebrating 30 years in the game for Z Records with a series of 12” vinyl EP’s containing some of the most sought-after remixes from the esteemed Z back catalogue. Part 2 sees highly desired cuts from Doug Willis, Joey Negro, The Sunburst Band, Mid Air and The Revenge.

First up, Doug Willis’ ‘Crystal Lover’ is a bass heavy jam slathered over the top of a toasted slice of percussion, cosmic vocal swoons, and eternally echoing horns. Next, the 1991 classic that really put Dave Lee on the map ‘Do What You Feel’ saw a standout remix from the man himself in 2015. The JN Revival Mix keeps much of the original music but beefs up the drums and bass to make for a super punchy sounding update.

Flip it over and find yourself lost in Joey Negro & The Sunburst Band ‘Only Time Will Tell ft. Angela Johnson (JN City Connection Mix)’. This jazzy, Latin-tinged and unashamedly musical dance cut showed the full force of soulful house music, made ever sweeter by Angela’s wonderful voice. Closing out proceedings, The Revenge unleashes a signature slammer of an edit of Mid Air ‘Ease Out’, perfect for blasting out across the highway or teasing in across the night.

In these challenging times music can serve a higher calling. In divisive and turbulent times music has always been a vehicle for change. Anthony feels responsible for raising awareness, promoting and celebrating our cultural influence in dance music & pop culture. It is often an undercurrent that is seldom properly heralded. For decades black music has wielded the power to direct the thinking and the behavior of others in these genres. Anthony feels compelled to release music that answer the need, and that is relevant to the times we find ourselves living in. BlakMuzic is a powerful statement of intention and speaks to those values. DJ Koze's 2013 album opus Amygdala has continued to bewitch all who encounter it since its release. Tipped as his own personal Sgt. Pepper, the sublime long-player revealed a fully-realised and personal body of work, complete with a classic songwriting at its core, House in its heart, and veins coursing with psychedelic color. La Duquesa' was the album's dreamy single standout, a journey into deep, tropical ecstasy. XTC' begins in the same spirit, and captures the all the blissful allusions of its name, but its initial gentility belies the deep intensity to come. Floating pads glow with celestial ambience as a kick drum is gradually coaxed into solid form, and the introduction of spoken text begins the second act. Many people are experimenting with the drug Ecstasy,' it says, ...is the drug like the lie and meditation the truth Or am I missing something that could really help me". XTC' then transforms: sweetly imploring tones become demanding, gentle gradients between chords turn hard-edged, and sharp hi-hats cut through the haze. Complete with Koze's signature percussive quirks, it drives towards the track's final pay off: an undeniable, all-consuming, irresistible high. Knee On Belly' recalls Koze at his most tongue-in-cheek and overt, it is bright, bold and literally brassy, using cut-up horns of all shapes and sizes to patchwork together his own unique arrangement. With the highs and mid ranges accounted for, Koze adds in a swollen, thrumming bass line to mix to bring this floor-filler to life. Knee on Belly' recalls a raw, filtered and funky approach to groove, with a nod to disco house and the art of artful sampling, as it orbits between its own neon highs and simmering lows.
