Following up on his collaborative Ep «Middle Of The Road Less Travelled» with Michal Turtle, HOVE is back with another solo EP on his imprint Light of Other Days. The five breezy and balearic-tinged tracks were recorded and produced in HOVE’s home studio in Zurich between December 2018 and June 2019.
On «In Motion» HOVE’ s sound evolves from drifting and dreamy ambiences into tape-saturated mid-tempo bumpers right back into shimmering chords, spiked with echoing guitars and field-recordings. As with its predecessors, he interweaves organic sounds with seductive rhythms and percolated ambient pads into a dense yet familiar HOVE sound. «In Motion» is inspired by the pure feeling of listening to House, Synth-Pop, Wave, Dub and New Age records. It is HOVE’s third solo EP and his first release of 2019.

Last years “Dawn Chorus” album showed Jacques Greene outgrowing the limitations of the tempo-defined dance genres he rose to notoriety within. And while his own music grew in scope, Dawn Chorus became his most collaborative work: courting friends and instrumentalists to lend their work to the album. For that reason, Dawn Chorus feels so much richer than his prior, solitary bedroom production and spoke to Greene’s competence as a curator. Inviting friends to contribute original remixes to the Deluxe Edition of the album which speaks to his ability for curation in a whole other sense: building on the album with club primetime house and techno, afterparty warehouse versions from Greene’s friends and family.

Holed away in Cosmic Resonance's basement studio/headquarters in Toronto, Jess (KTA) improvised freely over 8 straight early January days in 2018. The result was a free jazz, techno-addled synth orchestra too rich to know its own wealth of nuance. Slowly the layers began to be peeled away at KTA's home studio in Parkdale, Ontario, Canada. Glimmers of diamond-encrusted synth rays started to peak out from behind massive bass line clouds. Mountains, valleys, rivers, trees and a full landscape appeared. A world was discovered and it is MAHOGANI FOREST.Jessica Cho (KTA) has been creating buzz in Toronto's downtown dance music community with her live, improvised electronic music performances and multi medium DJ sets for nine years. A classically trained pianist with an intuition for improvisation and the sonic universe, KTA transcends the dancefloor into the astral floor. Her sound palette is vivid and technicolor, a timeless fusion of raw, fearless creativity and focus. Cho has proven her versatility in dozens of Toronto venues performing solo, and with former live house duo CHOBO. She has released a variety of tracks on labels such as Arachnidiscs, Architextures, Toy Tonics from Berlin, Secret Jams from Bulgaria, and her solo EP on Toronto's Mikita Skyy.

Les Graciés is a collaboration in the truest sense between Paris-based sound artist Gaël Segalen and Deepblak co-founder Afrikan Sciences. Segalen's experiments in electroacoustic sound met the wider world this year via a debut LP for Erratum, an arresting work that showcases her ability to merge hypnotic murk ala Angus MacLise with the hard concréte of Parmegiani & Reibel. Segalen's IHearU imprint / organisation is a platform for her various doings, including psychogeographical audio works and multi-media collaborations, as well as servicing as a reference point for other contemporary female artists working across various mediums. Eric Douglas Porter aka African Sciences has been deconstructing and re-building forms of contemporary Black music since the mid-2000's, through releases on Deepblak (the label he co-runs with Aybee) and PAN. His musical universe is one of warping cadences and celestial melody, referencing the bold work of percussionists like Milford Graves & Art Jenkins, the dissonant chords of Motor City Techno and stripped back essence of early Chicago House matched with broken Hard Bop sentiments: all tied together with an aesthetic that sits somewhere between Sun Ra's omniverse, Jean Giraud Mœbius and Dogon cosmology. Together as Le Graciés, Segalen and Porter make a wholly unclassifiable strain of music that, while containing recognisable elements of each individual's work, also creates a third entity in the process, which can be heard to stunning effect on their forthcoming debut LP 'Low Doses' for Firecracker Recordings.

The latest sonic output of artist-producer-dj-polymath Moonbow comes served in the form o
f a 12” vinyl on West Friends: the imprint spearheaded by South London’s Rye Wax & FYI Chris. After three years of quietly producing, Moonbow’s name is most familiar within the London nightlife scene, where — alongside their work within SIREN collective — they are known for their colourful DJ sets & mixtapes, leading to a mention in Crack Magazine’s “Top 10 Mixes of 2018”, guest mixing on Rinse FM and contributing to Honey Soundsystem’s mix series. These sonic tapestries are an exercise in storytelling that is at once euphoric and melancholic, whilst delving into both the old and new. Often known to make an appearance are chopped 'n' spliced vocals, silky psychedelic melodies, and bass vibrations so heavy that no nearby drinks are safe from spillage.
These characteristics can certainly be found on BNND WDTH, where the A-side is a tense build up of transcendental textures and rhythms that moves ever closer towards the dance floor compared to Moonbow’s earlier releases. On the side B, Discwoman affiliate and Toronto’s favourite one-to-watch Ciel takes the helm on a psychedelic breaks rework (one you may have seen many an “ID?” for in that Crack Magazine mix from SIREN DJs).

Ryota O.P.P aka Ryota Arai delivers his debut album 'Pale Lux' for Meda Fury.
Ryota is based in Tokyo - at the nexus of the Japanese house / future disco scene, alongside cohorts such as Cos/Mes, Inoue Shirabe, and KZA he blends eastern mysticism, jazz spirituality, and cosmic disco with classic 4:4 rhythms.
A highly respected DJ, promoter and producer the opaque discoid-stomp of his Future Life EP marked him out as an original oddity but a vital new voice in the now global electronic music community, but with 'Pale Lux' he's enlarged the scope of his musical canvas to incorporate new fresh textures and atmospheres.
As Meda Fury head honcho Nick Williams explains: ''Future Life' was built from some quite dark, abstract demos, some of which ended up being a bit overproduced for his self made debut cd only album. The Pale Lux LP is a Ryota's fully realised eclectic vision, with a mood that is more optimistic and playful - much more reflective of his personality."

When Bandcamp announced that they will be holding a special fundraiser on June 19th „that is specifically focused on racial justice, equality, and that they will donate their „share of revenues that day to the NAACP Legal Defence Fund“, we thought to put out a special sampler that contributes to that cause. All profits of the sales of „Music for the NAACP“ will go exactly there. Due to the lack of time, it might seemed knocked together, but old and new friends, from near and far alike did their best, to set it up. Rogue D & Memoryman AKA Uovo team up for their latest release this September with the Electric Safari EP. The four-tracker marks their collaborative debut on Crosstown Rebels, fresh from Total Black on Rebellion in 2019, and includes two remixes by longstanding German talent, Roman Flügel.
That tribal sound is felt right from the get go, as rustling hats marry up next to whirring synth pulses throughout. About the label
The story started 8 years ago, when Gabriel Mester and Marc-Antoine Rousseau met in high-school, despite being serious students, they quickly realized that they were together sharing a common passion: a love for electronic music, as well as a nai¨ve dream: creating their own independent music label.
During this period, the Mesma Records’ adventure began, a demanding and adventurous Parisian-New York based label combining electronic and experimental music.
A few years later, Amsem Records was born. This second label was initiated by Gabriel and Marc-Antoine, joined on occasion by his’ brother, Constantin. This label aims to be a real living laboratory of parties and creativity with a simple goal: celebrating music that brings together with unstoppable grooves and moments of collective madness, accompanied by a return to the roots of the club culture they loved so much.
For two years now, Amsem Records has been developing a plural and rich universe through each of its releases (vinyl and digital), visuals, clips and Parisian evenings.
The label began producing its events at the Nouveau Casino, which was immediately suc- cessful. On the strength of its reputation, other clubs such as Rex Club and
Badaboum then agreed to open their doors to them. Amsem is determined to continue crossing the threshold of the best clubs in France and Europe.
Pushing the doors of creativity even further, Amsem arrived with fresh energy and original ideas. Its latest project? An official brand of clothing. Designed in New York, made in Portu- gal and screen printed in Paris, this brand makes the label the herald of music that can be danced as much as it is worn.

Love” a firm favourite within the modern soul as much as the House scene, which features Joseph Junior and Ayanda Jiya, the hit
song “Claudette” featuring Monique Bingham in an exclusive, unreleased remix version by UK deep House Don Jimpster, the
outstanding collaboration with South African superstars Mafikizolo titled “Uyakhala” and “After Midnight” with songstress Portia
Monique on vocals, which proved to be a favourite amongst worldwide Soulful dancefloors.
The album release of “Progressions” jumped straight in on the No.1 spot on iTunes South Africa on day of release and received
plaudit from tastemakers and fans globally alike, as for example “Blues and Soul” celebrated it as Ralf’s “most cohesive and defined
work yet. Elevating!”. German producer / DJ Ralf GUM began his musical career in 1990 putting on guests such as Frankie Feliciano
and Mousse T at his residency in his hometown Würzburg as well as playing further afield in Asia, North and South America. In 2001
he launched GOGO Music, a highly acclaimed label synonymous with global soulful talent and Ralf’s own brilliant output. Ralf has
released 3 albums before - his 2008 debut “Uniting Music” containing the timeless “All This Love For You” and bestseller “Kissing
Strangers”; his gold selling classic “Never Leaves You” which included the official South African chart #1 single “Take Me To My
Love”; and “In My City”, which was selected dance album of the year by iTunes in 2014. In 2008 Ralf was invited to play in South
Africa where he toured extensively, he also met and released music from the now superstar Black Coffee and others and instantly
became a fav and regular on the Motherland's scene. So much so, that Ralf relocated to South Africa in 2012, becoming one of
the most pivotal contributors and ambassadors, spurring the growth of the vibrant SA house scene and scooping award nominations in the process.
