House Vinyl New Releases - News

Back in 2019, Safe Trip delivered a much-needed reissue of Trans-4m’s previously overlooked 1992 debut album, Sublunar Oracles, an ambient house and ambient techno masterpiece from Belgian brothers Stefan and Dimitri Van Elsen. Now the label has dived into their archives again to present an expanded edition of their sought-after 12” single Dencity, complete with a previously unheard cut.

While the original album version of ‘Dencity’ was a meandering journey through spacey ambient house full of ultra-dreamy ambient textures twinkling melodies and languid deep house grooves, the alternative takes originally featured on the 1992 12” were far more club-focused and dancefloor-ready.

This new edition boasts both of those gloriously kaleidoscopic and tactile revisions in freshly remastered form. There’s the EP opening ‘Urban Tribe Mix’, a bolder and heavier take featuring crunchier, weightier drums, gently psychedelic electronics and New Jersey garage style organ stabs, and the ‘Club Mix’, where saucer-eyed chords, echoing bleeps and energetic piano riffs help drive the track forwards.

Over on side B there’s a chance to check an alternative version of the Sublunar Oracles album version, as well as previously unreleased track ‘Butterflies’. Recorded during the same period as the album at the Van Elsen brothers’ home studio in Antwerp, it’s a starry, slowly unfurling ambient delight in which waves of attractive, undulating synthesizer sounds, yearning chords and deep space electronics dance away atop a shuffling, soft-touch drum machine beat. While it may have been shelved way back in 1992, it’s every bit as immersive and tactile as anything on Sublunar Oracles.

As Frankie Bones eloquently noted, “the five year run of Plus 8's sub-label Probe sometimes would seem to be putting out better releases than its parent label”. One of those indelible releases was ‘The Arrival’, signed by Casey Tucker under his Variable Frequency Technician moniker. “Cross Section”, the anthem that closed the B-Side of the original 1995 release, is getting now a re-release on Certain Music with two remixes from Fit Siegel and Marc Piñol plus a proper retake from Tucker himself.

It’s hard to tell what’s the most interesting feature of this singular track. Above all is a sharp and defining concoction of what listening to underground techno in the 90s was: warm and blissful chords over a metallic rhythm section, intrincate hi-hats, syrupy synths and a rubber-like bassline —you name it, the track covered it. Tucker’s 2021 remix keeps the vibe pretty much where it originally was, but now building things wider, tremendously three-dimensional and diaphanous. More than a remix, it’s a way to appreciate Tucker’s genuine evolution as an artist over the last three decades.

On the flip side, Fit Siegel signs an acidic and jazzy rendition full of twists and turns: keeping the groove in check while showing an infinite array of layers and melodic ingredients. Marc Piñol does pretty much the opposite while keeping the acid intention, building a ponderous bass-driven track with vocal delays, repetitive percussions and periodic glimpses of Tucker’s exquisite synths.

"AntiDEEPressant records, where Fusion Deep Space House meets NuDisco, Deep Techno and creates the eclectique spiritual grooves for your mind, body & soul. There are a 4 tracks EP that emphasise on the musical side, the instrumental parts, the atmosphere ... a gem! Most of you would say this is ""Deep"", but we say it's freakin' great deep influenced house. "

‘When I play or listen to this ‘Aura’ EP I feel a whole range of these incredible emotions. This EP is truly dear to me and touches the deepest corners of my soul, bringing out tears of joy in me which doesn’t happen that often. ‘Aura’ is filled with magic and I hope that everyone who listens to it can feel this too!’ - Amonita.

Mint Condition - A record label focused on excavating the outer fringes of classic House and Techno. Unreleased mixes, classics, overlooked gems and never heard before material, mined from the last 30 years of contemporary dance music are the order of the day. From Chicago, Detroit and New York to London and beyond. Mint Condition have got their digging hats on to bring you exclusive heat and those rarer than rare jams that have been in your wants list for years. Dig in....

Set against the backdrop of Birmingham in1990, a 17 year old Peter 'Doggy' Duggal, inspired by Cybotron and Kraftwerk, would escape to his bedroom with the few pieces of musical hardware he'd collected, spending days eking out what sounds those machines could produce, thankfully Peter remained resolute and what resulted was his first EP 'Psyche' originally released on the pioneering UK label Rham! Records.

'Psyche' itself is an absolute gem, an infectious and unrelenting bass-line drives the track, while dystopian chords and strings populate the higher end. Next up previously unreleased 'Haze' heads into breakbeat territory, a sparser live jam recorded straight from the desk, but there's no shortage of bass bin rattling sub-bass, bleeps and emotion here. 'Dog Food's ominous intro gives way to pounding drum machine rhythms, more incessant bass, melancholic melodies and subtle breakdowns that keep the warehouse energy flowing. Rounding off this EP is the previously unreleased 'Psyche' (Alternative Mix), adding subtler bleeps, another genre defining classic that would give the original mix a run for it's money anywhere.

''Psyche' has been legitimately re-released with the full involvement of Peter Duggal and features previously unreleased tracks and never heard before versions that Peter has unearthed from his DATs. This is an essential archival piece, lovingly remastered by London's Curve Pusher from the original sources especially for Mint Condition. 100% legit, licensed and released. Dug, remastered, repackaged and brought to you by the caring folks at your favourite reissue label - Mint Condition!

Lazy Days is proud to welcome back Shur-I-Kan after his landmark 2009 release on the label, "Simply Yes". This time, the Dark Matter Label boss and Freerange artist brings us an original 3 track EP, no featuring, no remixes needed. It was love at first sight when we first heard the EP. And we are glad to be able to share it with you.

Head To Toe boss Ninetoes is next up on the famed Hot Creations as he makes his debut on the label this March. Geared for the dancefloor, Same Same is a solid two track release that sees the German native at the top of his game.

Title track and A-side Same Same is a bonafide feel good anthem that packs a heavy punch. Uplifting vocal samples lead the way over the rolling, minimal undertones. On the flip, Feel It kicks in with a deep and swinging bassline as subtle vocals drift in and out amidst dark, melodic keys.

Hailing from Stuttgart, Ninetoes arrived on the house music scene back in 2013 where his track Finder took Ibiza by storm. Releases and remixes soon followed on acclaimed labels such as Moon Harbour, DFTD, Crosstown Rebels, Avotre, Saved, Suara, Mobilee and Play It Down to name a few and were supported by the likes of Loco Dice, Carl Cox, Jesse Rose, Luciano, Davide Squillace and Koze. 2019 saw Ninetoes launch his own label ‘Head To Toe’, where the break out track for the label became one of the top 10 Shazam’d tracks in Ibiza that season. This year shows no sign of slowing down with a string of new music on the way.

Here we go with Keinemusik's newest release - it is already number 47 and going by the lovely title "Hand In Hand".
Rampa is starting things off on the A-side with "For This" - a collaborative effort together with Berlin born and London based singer Chiara Noriko. Then there's Reznik - up to this point being in the picture as the DJ only fella - chipping in "Schuhu's Groove". &ME is opening side B with "Fairchild" and yet another sophisticatedly laid out floor epiphany, showcasing his ability to shape monolithic yet soulful peaktime masterpieces. And finally we find Adam Port on B2, pursuing his knack for lost African treasures. Once again he finds the source material in an old traditional by Quim Manuel O Espirito Santo.

Blue dream is the latest project from The Rurals Andy Compton, written & produced in a studio on the Californian Coast (Near LA) which is fully analogue, with retro drum machines, synths, filters and effects. The album is a collaboration with fellow groovers/studio owners Brad Kent and Irantzu Pujadas.
Expect a dose of psychedelic Cali' soul, with smooth grooves and warm feelings.

Big South West energy here as young Bristolians Litherland make their debut on new North Devon label with the dreamy, rolling, old school / new school breaks of ' Ida's World'.

'Keffala Breaks ' drops the tempo, adds some grit, and keeps drifting along, before up and coming Italian electro duo Hiver finish things up with a deep and streamlined version of Ida's World.

Frankfurt dynamo Shan, fresh off the back more eclectic fire for Running Back and Live at Robert Johnson, get's to dive into the legendary Candi Staton vocal vaults, and comes back up with 'One Day' : classic sounding, piano-lead house on the Deep Mix, tough, big floor bumper on the Ruff Mix.

Remixes come from fast rising Bristol newcomer Litherland and Phonica's Earth Trax, both strong, with breaks and piano's on the former, space and widescreen dub all over the latter.

Deep Club launches another split-12” consisting of two unlikely pairings. Berlin via Chicago’s Snad leads the A-side. After co-founding Gandu Records in Chicago he jumped across the pond, where his output increased quickly for the likes of Minibar and Smallville while contributing to US favorites Kimochi and TerraFirm. On Jargon / Syntax Error, “Jargon” encompasses his signature style of deep, minimal, swinging house. The track builds over almost eight minutes with a massive rolling baseline and sporadic synth stabs and pads. Mix out too early and you miss the point. “Urban Decay” is a bass massage that hits only on the right sound system or headphones.

Jackson Lee takes side B in a different direction while still exploring themes around deep and minimal. The mysterious NYC via Memphis techno producer boasts an impressive catalog on his Mystical Disco imprint, as well as collaborations with Ben Jenkins, R Gamble and Grey People. “Syntax Error” is an extended techno bomb with a massive kickdrum that will leave dancefloors sizzling. The eerie effects crawling in and out of the texture and sharp hats combine with the low end for a masterclass in deep techno. “Clouds of Xeen” brings the energy down with distortion, wispy pads, and glistening layers, making it a great choice for 6 AM sleaze.

When it comes to creating atmospheric soundscapes, rhythm and melodies Vick Lavender is a true master. Shifting Gears, the debut release for Local Talk is a lesson in deep and soulful house music, rich in organic instrumentation.

Opening track Shifting Gears is a bouncing dancefloor gem that's sure to turn heads from the get-go and have everyone smiling and dancing thru out the entire track. 'Here In Spirit Sid' is rhythm-driven affair with added solos that create fresh excitement, Vick shows his diversity as an artist and ability to produce a timeless vibe which we're proud to be bringing you on Local Talk

We are thrilled to present you the first full length album by Xavier Fabre and Bibiana Graeff aka Xique-Xique!

Following the flow of their first 'Xaxoeira' EP (which means "Waterfalls" in Portuguese, but spelled in a poetic way) the Album sets an artistic landmark at 'Na Lagoa' (At the Lake).

The 10 album tracks were composed during the last three years between Istanbul, Bangkok and Heliodora (Brazil). Especially from this tropical haven you will find plenty of field recordings throughout the album, like the bird called 'Siriema' featured in the track of the same name.
Besides the Xique-Xique trademark sound featuring crispy beats, organic percussion, bell-like synth sounds and a lot of love for the detail you will find Bibiana herself as well as Bruna Takasse (the voice of 'Xaxoeira') on Vocal duties.

'Na Lagoa' is structured as Dawn, Midday, Nightfall and Midnight, and invites you to spend the day at an imaginary lake. In the water, you feel the warm synth textures enclosing you just before cascades of arpeggios start to drop into your ear. Once on the other bank, you wander around and observe the fantastic flora and fauna: dubby effects fly by like surreal bugs, mesmerising synth themes roaming the scenery like bewitched wild animals that welcome you in a dreamlike future-jungle-fantasy.
Now come, and follow Bibiana's invitation 'Sobe no Tapete voador'
Climb on the flying carpet and come to the Lake. Your dreams are already there.

Slammer from Detroit's Bryan Kage on FXHE!

Belgian producer and owner of Entrepot Records, UC Beatz, is the next artist to appear on the San Jose label, Roundabout Sounds. Coming out on vinyl only, the La Nuit EP features some sublime house, including my favourite track on the ep, Alta Paper, and a remix of the title track by Jeremiah of Grow! Records out of Vienna. Roundabout Sounds which is now up to release number 14 with this ep, is the label run by Joe 'Babylon' Marougi, co-founder of Plug Research. The label released a great various artists triple vinyl package, Connecting The Compass, that featured such house luminaries Marcellus Pittman, Norm Talley and Theo Parrish, among others.

deepArtSounds is one of those labels that you get excited about each time they release a record, and what a line up they have for this first volume of Various Artists compilation Tera Suave EP; First up on this release is Cosmic Twirl & Reekee with the beautiful deep house track Hope . Next up is Owen Jay feat. Joe Debono bringing jazzy vibe with Upon Entering the Lounge. On the flip side, Trans of Life from Japan team up for an eclectic deep house track called Shhh. Rounding off this record is Sofa Talk with Steven Half Steps, completing the quadfecta of wonderful tracks!

Whilst the club setting may feel detached from many of us at this time, Secretsundaze’s forthcoming release, courtesy of the Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange, will transport you back to the depths of the dancefloor’s energy. A three track EP which is sustained by Ziggy Zeitgeist’s rhythmic consistency on the drums – his scintillating live performance at Church of Sound in August 2019 caught the eyes of the label, leading to the fruition of this project.

Ziggy’s impressive artistry is demonstrated by his ability to inject club levels of energy into his live performance, bridging the gap between the jazz influences from his work in 30/70 and the broken-beat elements of ZFEE.
His sonically ambidextrous ear has culminated in this compelling piece of work. Having met Berlin-based artist Wayne Snow at a record shop in Neukölln, the pair started jamming together at a converted office space in a building that was attached to a techno club. Their afterhours sessions were mixed with spontaneous trips to the club, allowing Wayne’s soulful vocals and Ziggy’s broken drum patterns to seamlessly merge with the darker, more heavy textures of the club environment.

Wayne’s silky offering on Something Special allows the serenading seven-and-a-half-minute meditation to unravel gradually, enchanting the dancer with its harmonious house beat, accompanied alongside interweaving melodic layers, from Finn Rees on keys, that build its trance. The spaced-out quality of this joint is followed up by the more hard-hitting Kreuzberg Kix, which Ziggy recorded in Berlin with his Melbourne crew throughout a week in the summer of 2019. The congas of Javier Fredes dictate the track’s tempo, allowing the live element to remain felt on top of the bass of Matthew Hayes. Lewis Moody’s keys create a multi-palleted sonic landscape, echoing that of Yussef Kamaal, injecting a loosened groove that neutralises the song’s heaviness.

Long-term label friend and NYC-based virtuoso GE-OLOGY exercises his brilliance on a flip of Kreuzberg Kix. He uncompromisingly instills a murkier club sensibility upon the soulful jazz foundations of this track, allowing the deeper textures to dominate with a rhythmic ease.
This gripping project incorporates a sonic width that will simultaneously appeal to the house heads whilst resonating with the jazz folk too. Secret Sundaze have delivered with bold execution, interlacing faraway musical elements with an effortless poise. A deep hitter for the dancefloors that beckon.

LONE - ABRAXAS EP IS A THREE TRACK EXCURSION INTO ETHEREAL ACID

Lone reveals the first physical release on his new imprint, Ancient Astronauts, which has been set up to release new material whilst working on his next studio album.

The three track EP, Abraxas, sees the producer carry out his first experiments with 303 acid packaged up in a breakbeat club tool focused sound – an idea which was sparked from hearing friends playing ‘90s drum and bass at slower speeds than usual.

The result is a rip-roaring trio of tracks, with the heavy bass rumbles and searing squelch of Abraxas undoubtedly cementing the title track as the chosen club destroyer. Young Star Cluster follows up with a marriage of the rolling funky drummer break with bursts of 303 acid and Lone’s trademark empyrean breakdowns before How Can You Tell takes us deeper still, with choral pads opening the door to another chapter in the multifaceted producer’s sound.

Peggy Gou is proud to announce the launch of her own independent record label, Gudu Records. The label's first release will be the Moment EP - a two-track 12' featuring the tracks 'Starry Night' and 'Han Pan'.
'Moment' sees Gou continue to explore the charismatic facets of her musical and personal identity, drawing on her Korean heritage and language and her love for house & disco's Eighties heritage, with particular nods to the output of labels such as Prelude and West End Records in the decade's nascent years.
Gou's own singing voice, known to so many from last year's 'Once' EP, returns here to confidently guide the rhythm on 'Starry Night'. Mixing both Korean and English vocals over a tumbling cascade of percussion and piano house keys, the track builds to incorporate layers of instrumental samples and subtle acid lines. Romantic, anthemic and timeless in its feel, it reaffirms Gou's skill as a songwriter with appeal that resonates beyond crowded dancefloors, not to mention language barriers.
'Han Pan' follows as an instantly rhythmic affair that draws energy from a memorable and delicately tuned pan-drum. Alongside some expert and understated arrangement, as well as another, contrasting vocal performance, 'Han Pan' transmits a different but equally powerful energy.

Celebrating a determined and ambitious 15 year tenure as Yorkshire’s chief bastion of deep house music, Hudd Traxx enlist a who’s who from their gilded halls to contribute tunes for a special anniversary release. Split across two vinyl parts and an expansive digital release, it’s a pretty prestigious occasion featuring dance music legends Nightmares On Wax & Jovonn, long term label stalwarts Iron Curtis & JT Donaldson, a guest appearance from Mark Hawkins (FKA Marquis Hawkes) and a track from label head Eddie Leader. Adding to the already weighty credentials are Agnès (releasing his first material since 2013), Berlin-via-Italy producer Black Loops.

Black Loops get things underway for Part 1, “Forster Funk” gleefully charging through the terrace with an expansive, arms-aloft, mid-session burner. Simmering on a bed of pumping organs and resplendent with a whole manner of synth niggles and echo-laded vox, it’s both direct and funky, curvy in all the right places and destined to inject your Saturday night with some hefty acceleration and audio glamour.

Leeds dance & downbeat figurehead, Nightmares On Wax, now based in Ibiza, bridges those unlikely pools of hedonism between north England and the Balearic pleasure island for a rave-indebted, sub-tickling monster set to smack you clean in the chops with a veritable array of rock-solid breaks and foundation-shaking bass. A rare coup for Hudd, snatching some exclusive material outside of his usually tight nit Warp Records circle, the track’s an acid test track for any soundsystem claiming to be bullet proof; destined to cause a scene and a mad racket on every rotation. Grab the wax for this one as it’s vinyl only.

No chance for the desk to cool down yet as Jovonn’s “The Avenue Brooklyn Bounce” powers on, tuff n chunky as the New York icon treats us to a sublime exercise swing, shuffle, melody and rhythm. Gracing the track with his own indelible vox; deploying classic M1 licks and decorating the track with a plethora of beautifully synchronized hats, shakers and cymbals; smatterings of the producer’s incredible arsenal of studio tricks and flurries keeping us absolutely locked till the very last kick.

Eddie Leader closes off Part 1 with an urgent and white-hot jutterer, “Fade Away’. It’s octave-shifted, square-wave wobble fizzing like wet phosphorous on the wax while string sections gradually increase the drama as they slowly encroach on the track.

4 tracks which perfectly instil why Hudd started this label of love 15 years ago; to showcase fierce, uncompromising dancefloor workouts in as sincere and stylish manner as possible. The artists and tracks chosen show the adventurous routes and development the label keep as their main point of focus – to unearth the tantalizing new and exciting sounds of house music’s continuous evolution.

This release is dedicated to Richi Larkin & Yuriano x

The name "Back To Life" already suggests the direction of the label, an ear to the past with a look to the future.

The journey could not have started better than this: a timeless classic!!

Chez says: "The Morning Factory is a true story of the experience of Ron Trent and Chez Damier in October, the most stimulating periods in the New York Sound Factory Club. The birth of Morning Factory was created after a fantastic evening at the club. next stop would be Detroit, where the track had been recorded and produced. "

The second record on Pen & Paper contains two Session Victim original tunes, demonstrating the duo's trademark taste for sublime sample composition.
Smile is dominated by a heavy drum set that paves the way for an assortment of smaller and bigger funk loops, eventually joined by a vibrant lofi chord.
Mourn sees a moody blues sample float on top of the creamiest synthpad, echoing in and out while telling it's dark, old story.
