House Vinyl New Releases - News

It’s always refreshing to hear new music from Tom Szirtes aka Shur-I-Kan. He’s been one of our most consistent ally since the early days of the label and continues to deliver quality and quantity. The title song is uplifting and hopeful, something we can all use these days. Great piano hook, live bass by Nick Cohen, live percussions by Danny Ward (aka Moodymanc) and strings by Pete Whitfield. All of that over Tom’s signature beats. The Reprise breaks things down in the first section, concentrating on the instruments and bringing in the drums in the second half.

Bubblin’ Up is yet another classic Shur-I-Kan moment, taking things into a darker and tougher territory. One for those peak times club moments as far as we can remember!

Shut This Down showcases the versatility of Tom’s repertoire. A Broken Beat number featuring vocals by Anna Stubbs and rightfully dedicated to the memory of Phil Asher.

DJ Q & DJ Haus are back! This summer smasher first got aired on Annie Macs Radio 1 show and on the DJ Haus Boiler Room everyone was hyping about.. now here it is!!! BRAPPLE!!

British producer Andy Ash makes a welcome return to Delusions Of Grandeur following last years Bottleneck EP. Having had output on such respected labels as Chicago’s Still Love 4 Music, New York’s On The Prowl and Sydney’s People Must Jam, Andy Ash has developed his own stripped back, floor-focused sound which is tailor-made for steamy basements and after hours sessions alike.

Here on this three track EP things kick off with Unconscious Therapy, a shuffling, uptempo house groove which calls to mind brilliant French label Basic Recordings and the deep and dubby MPC jams of Point G. Just the kind of minimal and hypnotic underground sounds that made us fall in love with this music back in the early nineties.

Flipping over we have Sink which takes us down a darker path where saturated snares and crunching hi hats drive the jacking groove. Hints of acid enter later whilst an echoing vocal invites us to dance till day break, all underpinned by a hooky analogue bassline.

Closing out the EP we have All Of It At Once, a low-slung drum-heavy workout tool which locks you in with it’s reduced approach and jungle atmospherics. A very special release we hope you agree, with all three tracks having that secret weapon potential and a timeless sound which will keep them in your bag for years to come.

Note original artwork from Andy himself. Limited edition (150 copies) vinyl is hand stamped and we also have 5 very special vinyl copies in individual hand-drawn uniquely designed sleeves. Check them out on our Bandcamp site, they’re lovely!

Turbo Recordings brings you a special 10-year anniversary repress in transparent vinyl of Azari & III's classic self-titled debut album. Azari & III's unique blend of moody electronica, dark yet hooky vocal choruses and analog-thick rhythms has earned them both Juno and Polaris Prize nominations, cementing their status as one of the most important acts in Canadian dance music of the last decade. The four-piece band, consisting of producer/musicians Dinamo Azari and Alixander III with vocalists Fritz Helder and Starving YetFull, have crafted a defining sound that relishes in its references while maintaining a forward-looking perspective even ten years after it's initial release. Although the group has since disbanded, their legacy lives on.

Danism makes their debut on Noir Music with the emotional
'Reciprocated Love' featuring the vocals of legend Arnold Jarvis.
We fell in love with this stringled and super smooth song from 1st listen at the NM offices. Deephouse like it sounded 'back in the day' and in general just a timeless effort by the Cambridge based guys. Deetron, Deux Tigres and City Soul Project deliver the remixes and all of them are spot on quality with a more clubby edge. So instead of keep hyping this brilliant release.... Let the music do the talking.

2017 was the breakout year for Fisher. His first single, 'Ya Kidding', was one of the top tracks of the year across the board, including #3 overall on Sirius XM's Electric Area for the year, and his follow up EP, 'Stop It' is still kicking around the Top 10 and was dubbed the 'Track of the Ship' on this year's Holy Ship cruise, and with 'Crowd Control' he went 3 for 3.

After a lot of persuasion by myself to myself I've finally decided to put out a solo EP on my label. Delving and diving into the depths these three original tracks visit outer space, the deep ocean and the heavens. Each track emitting emotive under and overtones while gently transporting you away.
Tim Green joins the party with his remix of ‘Satellite Girl’ which rounds out an EP that makes you feel like someone has put their arms around you and given you a loving and warm hug. Social distancing isn't required as it's a metaphor.

Love, Leee

The Le Blond tune is the one here... to me... with a real franch House "pressure" style making it not 'house' or 'techno'.. .but french... andemikly like it's precious to be !

Roy's music not only has its own sound but also has its own feelings.
Emotive and subdued while at the same time a gentle giant in your music collection. This EP has all kinds of goodness within it. ‘Lift Of Love’ is THAT track from Lee Burridge's Cercle set. Lee was inundated with 'track ID' requests. It really is a moment waiting to happen in the musical stories you'll tell.
‘Veetoo’ brings together two great friends seeing Sébastien Léger's magic weaved together with Roy's.
The EP closes with ‘Honey’. Pure Summer joy in the sweetest possible way. Welcome back Roy...All Day I Dream loves you.

Here after the success of his debut LP ‘Pages’ and the ‘92’ Anthem’ track, which featured on the inaugural Collective Cuts release alongside music from Asquith, KETTAMA and 9th House, S3A returns to the imprint to conclude the story of his half acoustic half electronic album with the ‘« Pages » Epilogue’ EP.

"Laid-back record label created between friends from around the world.

Unsilenced Music is presenting its first release with this combination of talented artists.

The A-side is featuring none other than Paradise City Breakers, the Italian trio bring an electro yet hypnotic house vibe.

On the same side, Daïf, the French producer is going full in with this naughty and melancholic tech-house cut.

The B-side starts with a load of electro and booming bass sounds. Sevenbeatz released a lot of emotions on this one.

Last but not least to close this VA, Denaila! The Italian producer is bringing a roller out. Groovy bassline and strong drums, the perfect combo."

This route is not direct. The time of embarkation is summer 1989, our point of departure, Club Barraca, Valencia, the epicentre of La Ruta Del Bakalao. Passengers on this journey are Martyn Walsh, bass player and songwriter of Manchester band Inspiral Carpets and Sean Johnston, the band's booking agent and aspiring DJ. Our passengers will travel via separate routes, Martyn will sign to Mute Records and become the author of numerous top 40 hits and perform a myriad of worldwide shows. Sean will become a successful underground dance music producer as the Hardway Bros and DJ partner to the late Andrew Weatherall as A Love from Outer Space. Pulled back together by the gravitational waves of Weatherall's untimely demise earlier this year, this is the music of their journey ,¡La Ruta!

Burnski has been as relentless as he has faultless in his work as Instinct. This second album in as many years is another on point garage offering that fuses just the right amount of UKG tradition with forward thinking invention. From sweet-as-chocolate vocal anthems like opener "Show Me" to more dark and twisted late night jams "Select", these are killer cuts with kinetic kicks that cannot fail to get you on your toes. Further highlights come in the form of hyper-speed jam "Twister" with reversed stabs that will melt your face, and the deep bass drills of "Hologram". Point Of View is some seriously heavy weaponry, then.

Blue VINYL

Bondage-Music welcome back Mihai Popoviciu, to present his new “Azul” EP comprising four original compositions from the Romanian artist, the release contains 2 vinyl only tracks.

Ding Dong! Round two of remixes from Benjamin Fröhlich's "Amiata" album is ready. A great bunch of personal favourites, friends and heroes enter the ring and deliver the goods: Chloe, Fort Romeau, Marcus Worgull, Yor Kultura and Tom Bioly aka TB. All of them bring their own touch to Benjamin's originals! They break them down to their molecular structure rearranging them into new aggregate states: From Trance to Acid, lighthearted house to hypnotic trips to keep no eyes dry and no feet on the ground.

I first stumbled across this record on a Tony Humphries Kiss FM Mastermix from 1990. While my obsession with vintage Humphries radio shows is no mystery, „Das Rote Haar“ stayed one for a while. With all the ingredients of a novelty record (German lyrics about someone falling in love with a red haired person), but graced with a backing track that sounded somehow like a Ben Cenac or Larry Heard production and not German at all, it was almost impossible to be placed in any corner. A few years down the line, I finally found out that it was by a - surpassingly enough - short-lived German studio project called Love Club. Behind it was one of Germany’s longest-serving DJs: Jens Lissat. Together with Peter Harder they recited a poem by Francois Villon that was made popular by the late German actor Klaus Kinski and built a deep house instrumental around it. According to the creator the idea was indeed to find a groove that was similar to those of the „cool records going out of Chicago and New York at the time“. So there you go. Re-issued, re-mastered and with a re-designed picture cover, it’s your chance to share my joy with a record that is as balearic as it is basement ready. Including a dub and in case the vocal creeps you out, an instrumental version par excellence. But maybe you will fall in love with the red hair, too.

Gerd Janson

Unreleased music, stored over a decade, now's the time to get it out, whilst we're still alive.

Small Moves level up with a killer debut EP from Dufi. Slick, skillful and precise, no button bashing here.

BLAKAZ is the name of the new project of LOYA.The aim is to collaborate with different Indian Ocean artists to produce an album with each of them and then tour after several work sessions near their place of residence. The first part is in Mauritius, the second in Madagascar and the last will be in Mozambique.

After a 2 two-week work sessions in Mauritius with the singer Menwar, the album SAGAÏ will be released in April 2020 and followed by a tour in La Réunion and Europe. During this tour, they will be accompanied by percussionist KERSLEY SHAM. After a first collaboration in May 2019 with Menwar, Loya wanted to do a more in-depth work on the sega music of Mauritius. The will was to explore new sounds using synthetic sound sources while respecting the spirit of the typical sega.

As Menwar is considered as a master of ravanne,LOYA started by studying his specific rythmic on the frame drum and synthesized it on his electronic machines. The dialogue between machines and acoustic instruments is the backbone of this project. The percussion ravanne is highlighted, with 2 compositions devoted to it.The frst where Menwar talks about his instrument on a synthesized ravanne rhythm. And a second where he sings his ravanne rhythm like in the « konnakol» in Carnatic music ( from south India ). The rest of the repertoire consists of traditional songs by composers Ti Frère,Georges Armelle, Fanfan.

BLACK BONES once again making full use of their quarrying skills, with another fine excavation...

Not a cm of precious vinyl wasted as we get another indispensable 4-tracker turning up Bayou Funk, 80's Spanish pop, a classic mid-80's UK hit (that was bigger in Chicago's burgeoning House scene than it was in Soho), and winding up with a wonderfully sordid slab of early 90's Weatherall channeling psychedelia...

Fresh and groovy sounds of Discojuice on the new Italian
imprint Flankup Recordings!
The melodic and nostalgic groove, with typically soulful
influences, is the beating heart of the first track Butterfly
that gives its name to the EP. The moog synth and the
electric-piano’s samplings complete the deep house
atmosphere that can be heard for the duration of the piece.
Vibes from "Roy" expresses the musical style of
Discojuice. Vibraphone samples and virtuosities with
analog synths converge in purely jazzy rhythms.
The last track in the picture side is Another Face, surely
the soul most club of the record. The Moog Bass
dominates the scene by strongly marking the first deep
sounds; the central break cuts the song by changing the
atmosphere into a groovy explosion of funky and disco,
surrounded by a bass slap loop.
