Coming from Ireland, Rustal spent a few years in Melbourne Australia. Here he became a regular customer of Bounce Audio record store from whom Short Black was born. This 12", 140g black vinyl packs 3 tunes. Two original productions from Rustal and a jaw dropping remix of Privilege by Brendon Moeller aka Beat Pharmacy & Echologist. The original title track Privilege is a showcase of Rustal's production style. Instantly enganging and driving techno with echoed vocals and rhythmical textures. Forwards Backwards Down takes on a more dubby, pounding route. Lush synth chords carries the track throughout with a slamming kickdrum and percussive textures. Brendon Moeller joins the Short Black label with a dubbed out take on Privilege. Big sub bass with interesting sounds throughout taking you on trip to a place far away. You won't be believe where you ended up. Enjoy the ride. Like all Short Black releases. This is a vinyl only release, and will remain so forever. Support your local wax dealer.
Coming on 500 limited edition coloured vinyl is this new EP from Sierra Sam on Tomoki Tamura's Holic Trax.
Analogue machine loving Sierra Sam is probably best know as a techno specialist but this EP - made up of original tracks that were first produced 15 years ago - showcases his house music
side and does so in some style. One new edit comes from Sierra Sam in cahoots with Tamura, and the label head also turns out a great DJ tool edit to complete the package.

Scharbatke is back again with this two-tracker on So Glad Records!
An imaginary journey from New York to Paris, based on one single session from Scharbatke with his new Studio Partner Jonathan Uhlig ended up in these piano - espresso - cafe mood kind of tracks. But with thick cigarette smoke and violent palpitations.
B SIDE
It all started with Love is only moments away... and of course no Idea how to run a label. Luckily a couple of crazy record sellers believed in our release. After a short time we were sold out...
Turquoise Colored French Tourists - Love Is Only Moments Away (Bias Remix)
Check this super duper funky remix of our first release ever.
Sure thing - make disco moves now, because ...
Immediately dancing is the only option that allows Bias with this remix!
Turquoise Colored French Tourists - Love Is Only Moments Away (Original mit harter Kick)
And yes there were lot of discussions about the kick drum.
We thought about making a remastered version with more gentle compression.
Well, but we didn't!
This is the Original mit harter Kick!

As we continue our ever long winded hiatus from the dancefloor, we are happy to welcome a new group of producers to the label in the form of 00:AM’s fourth various artists compilation. Certainly not the only way we expected to come together this year, but we’re grateful to be able to cultivate another 12” to share with the world.
Across the A Side, we are joined by three artists who we’ve had the pleasure of hosting and playing with in Montreal over the past couple years. Alfredo92 of the Axces crew in Copenhagen presents ‘Tente Hjul’ which gets the remix treatment from Mr. ACTION SHADOW himself, Fett Burger. The result in something distinctly mechanical but not without a human pulse and a tear jerking conclusion. Fantastic Man then puts his own psychedelic twist on the hardcore continuum, taking the beautiful palette of his recent LP on Mule Musiq to the brink of insanity with ‘On Tha Run’.
On the B side we find two new friends to 00:AM. We have a mandatory “minimum of 1 ESB tune gets played a night” policy round these parts, and so its truly a pleasure to release his ‘Sequential Dub’. Nothing less than a future classic, it’s dubby and understated, but a little quicker than you think. And finally, its a pleasure to introduce 2wo2imes, who delivers ‘Immune’ a deep and driving excursion into the wormhole.
It’s a weird world, we miss you all, but we’ll keep doing what we know best, releasing and enjoying the music that moves us - no matter the time or place.

2nd Archivators records release embraces the charms of nudisco & uplifting deep house. Julian Sanza steps up first with Vincent Inc, delivering a driving chunk of dub-disco/deep house fusion rich in sparkling synthesizer lines, sun-kissed chords and his own rubbery post-punk bass.
Nigel Hayes is probably best known for his collaboration with Funk D'Void as Chaser, but as "Jabawaki" demonstrates, his solo work is just as impressive. It sees the UK producer move into sleek, pulsating deep afro latin grooves with modulated delayed space jazzy roads & double bass. DJ EFX aka Raul Recinos one of the most respected deep house producers since 1987.
He did best releases for label Strictly Rhythm and worked with producers like Aquatherium, Mateo & Matos, DJ Rasoul, Aural Imbalance and many more. Archivators records proud present his spiritual house track Gravity. EP bring unforgettable impressions & inspiration for mind, body & soul.
4 tracks came together to tell music stories about hypnotic deepest stuff, depression, happiness, loneliness, love, miracles and magical experiences.

'Trivial Occupations' is the third LP released under the Kingdoms and Scissor and Thread founder's own name - and continues in the traditions of those landmark records. Having scaled to heights within the club scene and released almost a hundred records under different monikers, Francis Harris embarked on an altogether more personal journey as a composer of intimate, atmospheric pieces removed from the dancefloor.
Here, with 'Trivial Occupations', Harris dives deep into a new sound pallette - bringing the listener on a journey through various states over the almost one hour run time. The album was made over the course of four years in various studios with an array of notable players, bringing a diversity of perspectives and approaches encompassed within Harris stunning artistic studio approach. It was also mixed at Jack White's Third Man Studios again with the help of long time collaborator and friend, Bill Skibbe.
'At First A Wide Space' opens up the album, setting the tone with a vista of soundscapes, merging synths, live strings by Kingdom's artist Emil Abramyan. It sets the stage for what is perhaps the album's (first) opus, 'St Catherine And The Calm'. Spanning over 12 minutes, drifting through ambient textures, shuffling beats and beautifully arpeggiated melodies and found recordings, it gives the listener a widescreen intimacy, not unlike the enveloping sensation of a cinematic experience. 'Song For Aguirre' is a more mournful affair, built around Abramyan's cello, deep bass tones, pad washes and distant sounding horns from Greg Paulus, adding to the noir-ish 70's soundtrack feel. 'Trivial Occupations' the album's title track and perhaps the centerpiece in terms of mood and tone, is a dizzying off kilter Jazz trip featuring a cast of remarkable jazz players, including vocalist Genevieve Marentette, Robb Reddy (tenor sax), Darkside member Dave Harrington on guitar and Will Shore (vibes).
Breaking up the album nicely, 'Dalloway', perhaps Harris' most unique production to date, moves into Dancehall territory with a collaboration with Cameroon born but NY based singer, Kaïssa.
'Recital Of Facts' , one of the only beat driven songs on the LP, harkens back to the sound of Harris' last two albums with a melancholic groove paired with melodic bass fragments and the ever-present pad washes. 'Parklife' follows a similar vibe with the return of Greg Paulus' mournful horns, but without any rhythmic underpinning, before the previous single 'Minor Forms' appears with its shuffling percussion and the singular sound of Will Shore's Vibraphone, bringing about a climatic moment listening moment.
The final two tracks - 'Beaumont' and 'No Useless Leniency' both further explore the sense of space with which Harris has become so enamoured - creating textures and backdrops for piano (Beaumont) and horns (Useless Leniency).
It's an album that is easy to get lost in - a structure suggesting no real beginning or end. Listening to it on loop offers the listener a chance to be fully immersed in the rich, melancholic tonalities of Harris' sound universe..

After his last release on Dirt Crew in 2017 we are more than delighted to bring back the talented Harry Wolfman.
With impressive records on labels like Phonica, Omena, Outplay and Toy Tonics in the last years he has drawn up a fine new selection of music that spans across many genres and moods. This is also the first release for us in the new year after a lil break and it continues to explore the more eclectic approach we are following for a while now since the outings of artists like Dampé, S3A and Dan Only.
Harry presents an exciting opener for his new EP, together with vocalist Christian Crow he has made the blissful and breaks laden “poppy” good feel tune “A Way You Come Home to Me” that shines a bright light in these darker months. Followed by the deeper club tune “Step by Step”, building around yet another vocal recording. This time it’s Harry sampling his own voice and looping it into a repetitive piece of good feel House music.
We are getting deeper on the B side with “Speaking Raman”, one of these signature Harry tunes, a playful dusty lo-fi piece of music build around a piano theme and embedded in deep bass and driving beats, his sound trademark on all of these more floor orientated tracks on the EP. To close out the record we added two of his cinematic, ambient electronica works that we personally love so much. The haunting “Always 3” is a deep sphere that sucks you in a meditational and soothing womb of sounds. Ending with the electroid cut “Green Trees”, it’s broken and fragile and gives this indie-tronica track a warm and gentle touch.
We hope you enjoy these tunes and that they may be your soundtrack to the upcoming warmer months.

SPhonica's white label series returns with a real deep house excursion by Chilean producer Massiande in the form of his 'Freedom EP'.
Massiande is an artist of multicultural roots. He was born in Santiago, Chile, yet he has lived most of his life alongside US American people and has Dutch family roots, which has greatly affected the way he perceives and lives music. Growing as a big fan of US Soul, Jazz and Disco, he found his way into music production through House and his biggest influences have been artists such as Larry Heard, Ron Trent and Chris Brann (aka Wamdue Project).
After a well-received, excellently-produced EP on Aroy Dee's MOS Recordings and another on Rawax offshoot Housewax, Delsin, the 'Freedom EP' is a strong 4-track conceptual record based on the feeling of freedom in life and, for Massiande, how it relates to house music.
The title track 'Freedom' launches the EP attempts to recreate an aural scenery of flying exploration centred on a spacey synth line and an almost Detroit techno bassline. 'Be With Me' starts with an almost Mr Fingers-esque groove before melodic elements take over.'Straight' is more of a straight-up dancefloor track with obvious elements from US house from the 90s, clipped Chandler-esque beats, nagging stabs and a vocal sample 'Gonna take you to another land, where there is no race', going straight to a place where you can allow yourself to be free on the dancefloor. Many '90s U.S. American House and Garage influences go through this track, which brings us to the final track, the epic 'Ode To A Tortured Soul'. Deeply melancholic with an end-of-night feel with its own flute solo, channelling Frankie Knuckles 'The Whistle Song' or Flow's Bottom Line classic ' Another Time'! Rounding off a strong EP.

Phonica unveil the third in a series of three 12" samplers featuring a selection of tracks from their new compilation 'Ten Years Of Phonica'.
As a long-time supporter of Phonica, Mr. G was a natural choice for the compilation and his contribution is yet another stone-cold Colin classic, named after his preferred day for record shopping no less! Ol of Faces Records is up next with the exceptional house/garage hybrid 'AMC Edit'.
On the other side, Lady Blacktronika starts things off with the deep and wonderful 'Gods And Planets', one of her strongest productions to date. Finally, DJ Kaos teams up with Loudtone for their 'Buffalo Dub', an old-school inspired house gem aimed at the dancefloors of today.
Phonica Records was established in September 2003 and set up shop in Soho, London, adding to the high concentration of independent records stores that inhabited the area. Founders; Simon Rigg, Heidi Vanden Amstel and Tom Relleen joined The Vinyl Factory with the aim of creating an exciting outlet for innovative dance music, traversing all sub-genres and cultures. Over the past decade the emporium has developed into a well-respected destination for DJs and enthusiasts, and has subsequently become a bustling hive of conversation and inspiration as part of a wider community of music lovers.
While trends and movements in music have grown and faded over these years, Phonica has always remained in a state of evolution. It is this openness to change alongside a commitment to it's original ethos and an enduring ardour for quality, cutting-edge sounds that has fuelled the shop's staying power.
To celebrate reaching this milestone, Phonica Records have invited some of their favourite artists to produce a track for an eclectic yet cohesive compilation, which will hopefully go some way towards sonically unfolding the 'Ten Years of Phonica.'

The latest release on Francis Harris' Scissor & Thread is another exercise in subtlety and restraint, brought to us by the emerging talents of Nadia Khan. With little known about the artist, this release lets the sublime music do the talking. Title track 'In Gleam' is a beautifully evocative drift into ambient textures - rising pads and occasion bass tones combine to set an exquisite scene. 'Local Visit' is a collaboration with label boss Francis Harris, and features some of the trademark submerged rhythm and textures the label has become known for, unfolding its deep structures over the course of the track. 'Restless' sees label regular Alex Albrecht aka Melquíades (whose previous EP on S&T was received warmly) provide the Last Bells remix - again muted tones and rhythmic complexity glide under ethereal piano fragments and slowly evolving pad washes. 'Sorting Through' finds its groove early, a deadened kick unfolds into an urgent percussion creating a thick atmosphere of melancholia.
'Sunburnt' rounds out the physical release - ending how it started - with dreamy, smudged tones, and warm pads.

Atlanta’s hot shot Stefan Ringer is the man for the last Quintessentials release in 2020. He has been building up his reputation with eclectic music on NDATL Muzik, People of Earth or his own FWM Entertainment label and he now makes „The difference“ for Quintessentials. Stefan Ringer offers up a loose and soulful take on MPC-made house full of deep tips and sci-fi tricks. „Otw“ and „Shakyabody“ are a well balanced mixture of smooth and raw with catchy rhythms, subtle vocals, warped synths and dirty claps. „Evolution“ is an 11 minutes long monster of a ambientish track - deep, dreamy and the perfect sound to reflect on a turbulant year. For our fourth installment of the “Roar Groove meets Dirt Crew” series we present you this new set of shimmering and dubbed out Revenge cuts. After the last episode Graeme has been very busy working his “live” studio setup to come up with a whole range of new jams of which we have selected the below four tracks. We think these best represent his unique style and once you hear these in a club you instantly know “That’s a Revenge Tune”, something we have always loved about his sound.
The opening “Like an Ending” is a trippy, melancholic-euphoric track driven by a Moog Voyager bass line and classic House keys and vibe. The original recording was an 11 minute live take that he has been able to capture the essence off and narrow it down to this thumping club jam.
The A2 is all about those good times and it reminds us a lot of early 90s “French Touch”, filtering House at it’s best, it keeps running around in your head and with it’s slower pace we are sure this one will do especially well on the early morning dance floors and high summer sun drenched beaches.
On the other side we enter darker and more dubbed out territories. Here is the first track in Graeme’s words “This one had been knocking around for a couple of years in various forms, but it wasn’t really until I stripped it all back and let the arpeggiated synth do it’s thing that it really seemed to gel. It’s really the rhythm of the whole thing, I ended up scrapping extra hi-hats and stuff that was just getting in the way.” And we have to mention that we personally love that marimba! This track is like a spaceship floating the skies and eventually touching down.
To close out this new work we have one of these typical stab-y Revenge chuggers, loose and floating, synth lines underlaid by a distinctive beat, it has kind of a breakbeat feel to it and with the improvising on those synths and melodies on top of it all it’s a true Dub House track.
Summer is here and this record sets the pace and tone! Enjoy!

For BBE Music’s landmark 500th release, the label joins forces with Louie Vega, Leroy Burgess and Patrick Adams to revisit ‘Barely Breaking Even’, the iconic track after which the label is named. Coaxed into the studio together by BBE founder Peter Adarkwah, Grammy winning House music hero Louie Vega, arranger extraordinaire and New York disco royalty Patrick Adams, plus the song’s original writer (and king of boogie) Leroy Burgess soon got to work. Even given the caliber of those involved in this special session, the results are simply exceptional. Featuring live strings by The Apple Hill String Quartet arranged by Adams and Burgess, Vega’s ‘Boogie Mix’ stays faithful to the Universal Robot Band original, with potent vocal performances and a tough new groove for 2019. It was at the string recording session for the boogie version that Louie Vega unveiled his 'NYC House Mix' to the assembled musicians, at which point he and Leroy Burgess quickly arranged a brand new horn section and re-wrote the song’s melody to compliment the track’s accelerated pace. What the team emerged with is so much more than a remix- it’s a unified call-back to two golden eras; that of disco-boogie and that of New York House. And it’s beautiful. - words by Will Sumsuch (5 Mag)
A brand new version of this underground anthem, created by Louie Vega to mark BBE's 500th release. The track features the song's writer Leroy Burgess and NY Disco legend Patrick Adams alongside a host of stellar musicians. Hot boogie and house versions of the song that gave BBE its name, coming straight from the Big Apple.

Composer, bassist and producer Henry Hicks AKA Horatio Luna is a musician intrinsically interwoven into the fabric of Melbourne’s bubbling music scene through his solo and collaborative work with musicians and producers from tight-knit creative communities in both Melbourne and Sydney. If you’ve at all followed the Melbourne music scene as it exploded onto the global stage in the last few years, you will likely be familiar with the undeniably infectious bass licks of Horatio Luna.
From his roots as a founding member of the influential hip hop /soul collective 30/70, to his extensive collaborative work with afro-house group Teymori, Horatio Luna forges his path by fusing styles, embracing genres and proudly defying labels. His musical output can be dizzying in its vastness, whether it be the unconventional dance music of Lush Life, his trad-jazz band John Henderson, spiritual improvisations with Foshe, or his most recent solo album ‘Yes Doctor’ on Melbourne label La Sape. Horatio Luna is one of the hardest working musicians in the game right now, who's recently been recognised for his contributions to the flourishing Melbourne scene with a feature on Gilles Peterson’s ‘Sunny Side Up’ compilation and documentary.
His new LP ‘Boom Boom’ on The Jazz Diaries is Hicks’ most dancefloor leaning offering to date. Utilizing his raw, unfiltered DIY approach to composition, Henry applies the sprawling, human energy of live jazz to the four-to-the-floor structures of early house music that in its soulful essence, captures the scratchy spirit of Detroit luminaries like Moodymann, Terrence Parker, and Mike Huckaby.
Horatio Luna’s music embodies an ethos of limitless creation, not bound by genre or style, as Hicks explains “I was always just about freedom in music, freedom in life. I wanted to hear new music and I’ve always been intrigued by abstract and contemporary ideas. Fusion music.”
This freedom in music is on full display with the album’s lead single ‘Fuck The System’, for which a video was created under football stadium lights in Melbourne. Heading into uncharted sonic territory, Horatio Luna effortlessly fuses grimey UK rap with his signature jazzy house bangas style. ‘Fuck The System’ is the message we need right now, imploring us to ‘rewrite the code’ and celebrate our creativity in all its limitless potential.
Showing the versatility of his talent throughout the record, Hicks delivers outer space bass licks on title track ‘Boom Boom’, drops rapped verses on ‘Fuck The System’, and even turns in an incredible reimagining of Detroit legend Patrice Scott’s classic anthem ‘Be Free’. ‘Boom Boom’ signals a new dawn in the Horatio Luna sound, exploring the inner-limits of what house music is, and the outer-
limits of what house music can be.

Marc & OVEOUS bring the classic bruk flavours to Atjazz's label with their new e.p. 'On Again'.
The original harks back to the old Co-Op nights with a tough bass synth and OVEOUS' soul laden vocals, tied together behind a punchy, syncopated broken beat rhythm. Dress to sweat, this one will make the bodies move.
First up on the flip side the '4x4 Dub' switches the rhythm to a straight up 4x4 house beat, but that subby synth carries through the broken beat touch. The original mixes' vocals are dropped in favour of one of OVEOUS' short spoken word monologues before he steps back to let the music do the magic.
The 'Dubstramental' gives you one final interpretation utilising the same dubbed out template as the B1, but reverting back to the original broken beat pattern to give you three different flavours to throw down with.

Absolutely huge record from the Shelter vaults! Roland Clark killing it on this underground House anthem from the turn of the millenium. "I Get Deep (Shelter Mix)" is pure peak time joy, based around a rough looping sample lifted from Blue Magic's seminal Philly anthem "Welcome To The Club" from 1976 and with Clark's vocals telling us how he gets down in the club over some heavyweight drums. Simple, yet devastatingly effective. This 12" also features the dub mixes, original mix and the always indispensable acapella version for those who wish to create their own version!
"I Get Deep" is a modern House classic and a tough one to track down with prices fluctuating on Discogs and other on-line market places. Now this contemporary classic has been made available again, fully re-mastered, re-pressed and re-issued in conjunction with Shelter Records, New York City.

'Cala Bassa' oozes nostalgia with a nod to the Balearic sound of Ibiza. Those piano keys, combined with the faint female vocal bring that perfect House sound. On the B-side, 'Girl' from Sirkea - The perfect track to compliment 'Cala Bassa', making for more easy listening. Capturing the laid-back side of Nu Disco, with soft piano keys and broken vocal, this is some seriously stunning production skills and a must for every vinyl enthusiast.
Meet Me On The Corner is taken from the band's sophomore album, Orange Whip, which itself was BBC 6Music's Album of The Day on its release. It follows previous singles Whatever You Do and Sinner, which garnered support from Craig Charles, Tom Ravenscroft and Huey Morgan. The song showcases Honeyfeet at their funkiest and chunkiest. A pounding beat beefed up by bass, guitar and brass propels forward while Rioghnach Connolly sings lyrics that could be straight out of the playground, but suggest something deeper, possibly mystical even, in its demands for a dalliance on the street.
Remixes on this more foot friendly single come courtesy of homegrown legends of funky house music, Crazy P who come through with both a vocal and dub version. Honeyfeet's latest opus is turned into a straight up soulful disco monster by the boys from Nottingham, with Rioghnach's rasping vocals playfully meandering over Hot Toddy and Ron Basejam's crisp beats and trademark live bass. Elsewhere, much hyped Russian production don, I Gemin, delivers his take - still aimed at the dance floor of course, but a slightly deeper house affair based around jazzy keys and chopped up vocals that take the song into more sonorous territories.
As a bonus, the 12" package also features the acclaimed remix of previous single, Sinner, courtesy of erstwhile Polish Innocent Sorceror, Envee - his shuffling, moody take only previously being available on vinyl via a super limited (and now impossible to find) 7-inch release late last year. For the last couple of years Honeyfeet (whose name comes from a line in the Blues Brothers film) have been a conduit for the ideas and expressions of an exotic mixture of Manchester based musicians. This genre-defying band incorporate styles including jazz, folk and hip hop into their music.
The band are fronted by Rioghnach Connolly - also known for her work with Real World artists Afro Celt Sound System and The Breath - "A remarkable singer and flutist who...can ease from Irish traditional influences to soul" (The Guardian). The line-up is completed by Rik Warren (vocals/harmonica), Gus Fairbairn (tenor sax), Biff Roxby (trombone/vocals), Ellis Davies (guitar), Lorien Edwards (bass guitar), John Ellis (keyboards) and David Schlechtriemen (drums).
Since their self-released debut album, 2013's It's a Good Job I Love You, keyboardist John Ellis jumped on board as full-time member, bringing his unique musical presence. This enabled the development of a more texturally adventurous style, as witnessed with the dual atonal solo between himself and guitarist Ellis Davies on Sinner. Similarly, for their current LP, Orange Whip, engineer, bassist and spiritual guide Lorien Edwards makes his Honeyfeet recording debut, so completing the 'kitchen' of this very special band.
The Growing Bin may have taken a hiatus for AW18, but don‘t be fooled into thinking this is a deciduous operation; after all the most powerful plantlife grows from below. Moving through the mulch, Basso traces the mycellium network from Hamburg‘s forests to the gentle slopes of Hasenheide, reconnecting with James Booth for the officially first Growing Bin release of 2019, or the first ever Glowing Pin Release.
Emerging from the green house with a heroic dose of wavy caps, the Mancunian export unleashes A-side sizzler ‚Space Echo Track‘, a little post-minimal magic for the peak time shamans. Built around the polyrhythmic patter of organic percussion, a touch of UK shuffle and the occasional blast of soundsystem bass, the track rolls and rattles from start to finish, tailor made for mid-set hypnosis. And while neon leadlines dance with disorienting sampler vox and papaya whistles summon the ethno-flute melodies, Booth brings us to a new level of future primitive consciousness, unlocking the Stargate once and for all. Onto the B-side and we‘re hurtling through galaxies, submerged in the entheogenic frequencies of‚ Locus of Control‘. Shimmering swathes of angelic synth vox and dreamlike pads drift freely, forming a
perfect counterbalance to the warp factor thrust and rasping resonance of the wormhole sequences. Beatless in space, ‚Locus‘ balances ambient techno and acid gurgle, cleansing your synapses like a Sven Vath warm down circa ‚94. This is music for the microdosers...

Nadia Khan returns on Scissor and Thread for another sublime mini LP, Port Ana. Based in North Carolina, Khan first drew a lot of attention via a cassette release on Where To Now? Records in 2015.
Her sophomore statement was the beautiful In Gleam released in 2018 on Francis Harris’ Brooklyn-based label, which set the tone for these five tracks of meditative music. The title track Port Ana opens the journey - a gentle, droning soundscape with effortlessly bewitching glints of melody. Conversation follows on, drawing on loops and textures to create the background for a deep, pulsing kick drum. The sounds shift and evolve, leaving a hazy sense of movement to drift away to. Next up is Objects In Form which presents a fragile chord progression that barely holds itself together, surrounded by shifting pads and swathes of reverb. Rain Again is presented here in two versions. The original combines ethereal sounds, weightless and adrift, while the Lawrence remix firmly grounds the track with a hypnotic, deep groove. The Dial boss provides another remix for the digital release that further plays with the textures of the original to create something that works both for an open minded dancefloor and as a home listening experience.

Sebastian Mullaert has always been a seeker and an innovator, so naturally his long awaited debut solo album, "A Place Called o Inkonst" presents an unique artistic concept and a thoughtful exploration of the relationship between sound and space. For several weeks, Mullaert spent most of his time at Kontra-Musik's home base Inkonst, an old chocolate factory turned cultural hub in the busy urban area of Mollan, Malmo city. Working in solitude outside the venue's usual hours, he built his live rig in front of the PA, right in the middle of the dance floor. This figurative role reversal between a dancer and performer allowed him to fully immerse himself in a perspective as close as possible to that of the audience during the process of creation. Mullaert's recording studio lies deep within a beautiful forest in the south of Sweden, a setting which has increasingly made its mark on his music: lush, green and spacious. It's a lovely place that makes for equally lovely music, but contentment is art's worst enemy. The complete displacement during the recording process of this album has affected his music profoundly. Mullaert's usually wide horizon of green hills and tall beech wood is more condensed and focused here, taking the form of urban patterns of life. Shades of longing and melancholy run through the album and those hazy ambient parts are no longer modelled on morning mist, they are exuding from smoke machines. The album is an exploration of improvisation, an approach that has become far more than a method for Mullaert: For him this is a way of encountering the present. The tracks are expressions of chance; collisions and collaborations of sound waves caught in the moment by Mullaert, like snapshots of fleeting harmony. The thematics are always distinct but at the same time ever morphing, pulsating and breathing like living entities. As the music changes we accordingly change with it. New patterns of movement and thought emerge and we improvise to keep up. This is the concept of dancing in its purest form, but also of meditation. A place called o Inkonst is made for both. A place called o Inkonst is Sebastian Mullaert's hommage to improvisation - an approach that is central to his work as a musician, as well as his critically acclaimed Circle Of Live event series concept he launched last year. The here and now is always in a state of flux, so improvising is the only true way to experience the present.

The ep starts with an emotional track from Aleqs Notal , a tribute to Mike Huckaby . It is a deep house filled with percussions, deep pads, and some subtle acid stabs. On the same Side Meftah , a newcomer from Detroit provides here a deep jazzy funky and broken jam with Fender Rhodes, MPC beats and analogue synths that is absolutely dope. On the B side Taelue , one of the Chicago fine producers is delivering a killer piece of moody Chicago house aimed to the dancefloor, a killer jam with pads and round funky bass line that will make people dance as soon as we can get back clubbing. Finally, Afrikan Sciences is rounding up the ep with an amazing deep funk bass piece of music that only him knows how to make.

Little Creatures returns from a slight vinyl hiatus with 2 big big jams.
Luke Solomon's personal hobby label has returned with some music from the vaults. The lead track sees look returning to the studio with his long time Freak partner, Jonny Rock.
The 2 were given the parts to a rather well known track and allowed do what they wished with it - they were then told that they were allowed to release - and bingo - mystery track was born.
The flip side is Luke's recent remix for psychedelic electronic act Maiins. This version has been creating all sort of dance floor wobbles world wide

With The Sound of Graz, the springfestival graz made it possible for local talents to fulfill the dream of their own vinyl record. Styrian artists could submit their club tracks in a competition. An expert jury consisting of the Elevate Festival, FAZEmag, Radio FM4, Radio Soundportal and GROOVE magazine, chaired by initiator Thomas Mussbacher, decided who would be featured on the album. Of a total of around 80 entries, twelve made it onto the album. In October the records were released in a limited edition of 1.000 copies. The proceeds go to the Styrian Children's Cancer Aid.

"Black Rox returns with installment no.5 in the series.
Their continuing voyage in bringing another set of unearthed-mother-earthed flavoured gems remains their goal.
Roots Unit are - once again - on the cutting and splicing side of things, this time tackling 2 rockets with afro-centric house leanings.
First up is 'This Poem', an alternative house take on the tune made most famous by Bobby Konders via his initial sample source, way back when. Percussive house beats mixed with deep stringy chords intertwined by THAT poem. Simple, effective and one that will lift many a dance floor.
Secondly we have 'Trenchtown Double Down'. This is an altogether moodier dub-house affair that sees Jamaica go to a lost New York garage party circa 1993. "

No Bad Days is back with the weird and wonderful sounds of the Korean tropics for Closet Yi’s debut release ‘Tam Tam Land’. Opening with ‘Honeymoon Junction’ we are greeted by the signature floaty yet punchy sound that often comes with a No Bad Days record but then around the halfway mark, an almost abrupt eeriness ambience washes over the track, letting us know: this isn’t going to be quite what you expected. ‘Circle Dance’ is next on the A side which is more of a functional club track in its structure to it’s predecessor. Birds tweet and a female Korean voice creeps in and out of the mix, luring us deeper into the depths of the island.
Hopping over to the B side we arrive at the climax of ‘Tam Tam Land’ with the thumping ‘Basalt (玄武岩)’. Closet Yi flexes her skills in producing a peak time acid-tropische-prog-banger and doesn’t disappoint.

HVOB: Trialog HVOB present their second album as an interdisciplinary work of art: ten physical processes are reflected in interactive installations, visuals and sounds. With their successful debut album ('HVOB', 2013) and five EPs, HVOB have crafted a unique panoply of sound: intelligent and driving, challenging and melodic. 'Trialog', the second album by the producer duo Anna Müller and Paul Wallner, will be releases on April 17th. I. Project Above all, 'Trialog' is an interdisciplinary art project, comprising a discourse between the disciplines of sound, video and installation, realised by HVOB, the VJs licherloh and the visual artist Clemens Wolf. The theme centres on ten ubiquitous physical processes, which are being documented and interpreted interactively on three artistic levels; via Clemens Wolf's orchestrated processes, the lyrics and sounds of HVOB's tracks, and the visuals by VJs lichterloh. II. Album Tearing, mixing, bursting, melting, oxidising, breaking, imploding, etching, bending, burning, track to video, video to artwork, artwork to track: 'Trialog' depicts the transformation of ten physical processes in ten tracks. HVOB's sound distinctively shapes the album, yet the duo now interpret their acoustic palette in darker, more accentuated, techno-leaning shades. Each of the ten tracks pursues its own individual dramaturgy: the opener 'Azrael' tears apart its built-up percussive tension, 'Clap Eyes' inches along frailly, 'The Anxiety to please' deepens and condenses until it implodes. References, inspirations and associations between materials, processes and artistic disciplines create an artistic depth, which renders the album a highl complex and complete work of art. III.
