HVOB: Trialog HVOB present their second album as an interdisciplinary work of art: ten physical processes are reflected in interactive installations, visuals and sounds. With their successful debut album ('HVOB', 2013) and five EPs, HVOB have crafted a unique panoply of sound: intelligent and driving, challenging and melodic. 'Trialog', the second album by the producer duo Anna Müller and Paul Wallner, will be releases on April 17th. I. Project Above all, 'Trialog' is an interdisciplinary art project, comprising a discourse between the disciplines of sound, video and installation, realised by HVOB, the VJs licherloh and the visual artist Clemens Wolf. The theme centres on ten ubiquitous physical processes, which are being documented and interpreted interactively on three artistic levels; via Clemens Wolf's orchestrated processes, the lyrics and sounds of HVOB's tracks, and the visuals by VJs lichterloh. II. Album Tearing, mixing, bursting, melting, oxidising, breaking, imploding, etching, bending, burning, track to video, video to artwork, artwork to track: 'Trialog' depicts the transformation of ten physical processes in ten tracks. HVOB's sound distinctively shapes the album, yet the duo now interpret their acoustic palette in darker, more accentuated, techno-leaning shades. Each of the ten tracks pursues its own individual dramaturgy: the opener 'Azrael' tears apart its built-up percussive tension, 'Clap Eyes' inches along frailly, 'The Anxiety to please' deepens and condenses until it implodes. References, inspirations and associations between materials, processes and artistic disciplines create an artistic depth, which renders the album a highl complex and complete work of art. III.

Following hot on the heels of Maurice Jnr and Seb Miguel's effort for the Sugarhouse imprint, the fourth release on the label sees fellow Paradise Forum member Jamie Paul take the reins. It's a heads-down affair on both the A and B1 cuts, before Maurice Jnr takes things even deeper on the closer. Keep bouncin'!

Physical Therapy drops 4 lo-fi house ghetto technoid jams on House Crime marking the series 10th edition!

Quantum Collage is the latest pseudonym of Olaf Gutbrod aka Ohm-G. Having built a reputation around his long list of chill out tracks produced while resident in Ibiza, this release on Martin Gretschmann (Acid Pauli, Console) and Nico Stojan's Ouïe sees him dive into some more electronic textures. 'Lucid Dreaming' is a chugging, groovy trip built around a shuffling beat and dubbed out percussion and horns, tapping into Gutbrod's talent for amplifying the vibe. 'Afrika im Weltraum' adds a little more tempo - a swirling, driving drum loop provides the basis for layers of extra percussion and spacey synths and various chants and radio broadcasts. 'Her Beauty' certainly draws on some the mastery Gutbrod showed in his releases on Café del Mar and Hotel Costes CDs - a chilled out groover with the sunset / sunrise seemingly in mind.

For fans of Four Tet / Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith / Floating Points /Orlando Weeks.

A beautifully composed and masterfully produced album spanning deep alternative electronica, modern classical and concrète ambiance. An essential debut release from the collaborative duo featuring  contemporary instrumentation and a guest vocal performance from Orlando Weeks. Packaged in unique artwork by Diana Gradinaru.

Sami El-Enany & Dampé - Opix
Sami and Joe (Dampé (Rinse FM) have been friends since college and collaborated on music and sound projects growing up. For the past few years they have drifted in and out of touch in London, catching glimpses of the other's work from afar. It took worldwide lockdown for the idea of the Opix LP to form.
The sharing of a nostalgic photograph led to the idea of a new multiplayer online RPG campaign to pass the time and distract from cycles of bleak headlines, Instagram and jobs boards. That quickly transformed into remote music making and collaboration, bouncing material and reactions back and forth across the internet.  Early lockdown for them will be defined by these songs. Celebratory and escapist, a way of protecting themselves from the panic of the moment.
Sami’s focus has always been composition, working closely with directors, writers and artists to create bespoke scores and sound for film, TV, games radio, theatre and installations. Joe works in dance music, running venues, presenting a monthly show on Rinse FM and has released a series of club-focused Dampé records on Berlin’s Dirt Crew and London’s WotNot Recordings. You can hear the two contexts collide across the record to make a dreamy electronica with influences from the concert hall to the club via gaming and film.
The music was made in two home studios with skyped-in recording sessions with incredible instrumentalists including jazz drummer Luca Caruso, Double Bassist Nina Harries, trumpeter Wilfred Petherbridge and songwriter and vocalist Orlando Weeks.

Sami El-Enany is a British Egyptian composer and producer whose work negotiates the fringes of modern classical, electronica and field recording. Alongside his own productions, he works closely with directors, writers and artists to create bespoke scores and sound for film, TV, games, radio, theatre and installations. Recent works include Tongue Tied, produced for BBC Radio 4, Deadly Structures, a sound-only first-person exploration game produced by the ICA and the BBC and to be released on Mac and PC this year, and the film score for Walking With Shadows, the first LGBTQ+ Nollywood feature film ever made, also to have a worldwide release this year.
Dampé is a studio project from South East London. On moving to the city he has been intimately involved in its club culture from running warehouse spaces and booking venues to hosting a monthly show on Rinse FM plus DJing and performing in groups across the city and Europe. Currently based out the Rhythm Section Studio and a home (boat) studio he’s working on a series of records following 2019’s debuts drops on Berlin’s Dirt Crew and London’s WotNot recordings.

The wide-spread admiration for Uijui’s production chops has been imminent for several years now, only stalled by the instant gratification of endless night outs, snooker and one or two shattered computer hard disks. He’s been crafting discreet and thoughtful, yet effective midnight sun house and heartfelt techno over the years concluding in a 3-track EP for Cold Blow.

Summer Rains is the debut EP from producer, beat-smith, and multi-instrumentalist Finn Irregular. Originally from North London, moving to Australia in 2014 saw Finn find a creative home within the vibrant city of Melbourne, (Naarm).

Taking influence from across the spectrums of jazz, hip-hop, broken beat and R'n'B; his fresh and modern production style employs analogue synths, drum machines, and live instrumentation to create an EP rich in texture, united by the theme of positive summer vibrations.

Title track ‘Summer Rains’ is formed of two sections - day & night. After the unmistakeable introduction, good friend and collaborator, Rara Zulu, effortlessly showcases her expressive but soothing vocals with a cheerfully wistful throwback to remembering the summer rains. Transitioning to ‘night’ Cazeuax O.S.L.O. executes his trademark poetic flow, teleporting you under the starts to the scene of a late night beach jam.

Following in coherent succession, ‘Waves’ is a downtempo instrumental house track. A constant ebb and flow of arpeggiated synths and lush pads capture, and turn you within the ocean swell.

‘Stationed In The Sky’ blends the work of an analogue drum machine with deep bass and jazzy chords. Anchored by a sweet-yet-purposeful rap from Hayku Kyah, it segues into a chorus that lifts into a cascading symphony of lush vocals by CD, neatly demonstrating another side to Finn’s diverse and unique production style.

Rounding of the EP is ‘Find A Way.’ Featuring the calming vocals of Rara Zulu, it’s an exuberant commingle of neo-soul and R’n’B, maintaining a vibrant sense of nostalgia with Finn’s contained production and Rara’s stylized delivery.

Nothing But Nice Records, based between London and Berlin, is a label founded by long-standing friends, James Andrew and Charley. The label comes as an extension of their friendship, channelling their favourite sounds of years late, drawings inspiration from breaks, electro, garage, and tech house to release music with a fresh and playful edge.

The label’s first venture comes in the form of James Andrew’s ‘Thinking Backwards EP’, a four-track genre-spanning release. Rolling basslines, crisp highs, floaty synths, and acid leads define the records sound, creating four spacey dancefloor ready tracks.

Nikki Nairs latest release for the new label Muy Muy Limited, based between Mexico City and Ponderosa CA, is a rich and textured testament to his ever evolving production abilities.

Evoking feelings of fireside reflection, this 6-song EP flows from rich ambient orchestration to hypnotic hymns + rhythmic instrumentation, while maintaining an overall feeling that evades description.

This all seems fitting for the first release on a label the was born in a remote cabin high up the Sequoia National Monument.

It's only fair - in terms of universal balance - that stratospheric pop success should be countered with some gutter realism.

Release No.12 then is the smudged mascara of the morning after, still in the club, but definitely not ready to leave.
'Imperfection Turns Me On' is the sound of Nile Rodgers sharing a bag of flake with the local bell-ringing society, while B & E upsets the curtain twitchers with an uplifting lude-a-thon of swirling synth riffing and those ever-present Crooked and pin sharp beats.

SLEEPWALK unashamedly hogs a whole side, gently imposing its dub-soaked 15 minute self directly into your hypothalamus, with some Basic Channelesque transcendentalism, but from Yorkshire.

Swedish producer HNNY (real name Johan Cederberg) releases his debut album 'Sunday' on Omena Records, a label set up by Tobias 'Tooli' Lidstrom.

The ten track debut album continues an ongoing partnership between HNNY and Omena Records that started in April 2014 when the 12" 'Always' was released which also marked the starting point of the label.

Sunday is released as a 180 g vinyl edition in gatefold sleeve.

When it arrived on the progressive house scene in 2000, it quickly made the rounds as a tune to be reckoned with. Played by nearly everyone in the industry, its haunting vocals
and psychedelic synths captured the minds and hearts of ravers worldwide. Now, fifteen years later, Victor Ruiz and Cristoph have put their own spins on the Yoshi Classic. Victor contributes a round, pulsing bass line that has had listeners of Sharam's
recent sets ask, 'what IS this' Victor's unique style of impeccably-mixed, maximalist tech house is a tenacious tribute to Luzon's composition, capturing the psychedelic energy of the original and warping it into what will no doubt be a staple in many of this summer's sets. Where Victor opts for immensity, Cristoph dials back to reveal a dark and beautiful side of Baguio unheard before. Delicate sounds float in and out as the tune unveils, building to a dramatic vocal climax that guides the composition to its close in an outcry of raw emotion. The new package includes an expertly remastered version of the original 'Igorot Vocal' mix. When put together, the three create a complimentary system of sound, imparting new depths to the classic. We hope you enjoy the return of the Luzon's "The Baguio Track.

Physician by day, musician by night, Moonlighter makes his production debut after steadily holding down Rocksteady Disco labelmate duties. Give Us Rain (Ah Mila)' begins the 12' beautifully, blending ethereal African samples with Moonlighter's own melodic and percussive performance. Kinematic' kicks off theflip on a more cosmic and techy tip, with bubbly synth stabs and drums. A Certain Average Kind Of Normal Experience' closes out this opus with a massivepeak hour bassline, emotive synthesis, and a vocal sample from everybody's favorite UK philosopher. The Moonlighter EP is a culmination of his diverse production and digging ethos by blending the percussive with the melodic, the peak hour with the subdued, and the head with the heart.

Venetian Causeway Records kicks off it's first release, boasting rhythmic blurred planes of warm sounds with lofi-esque versatility. Debuting the first is Paul Santangelo from Rome, delving the listener in a beloved world of far-sighted bangers. The EP opens up with Santangelo's take on a woozy and bold-resonating texture; self-titled "Generic House Traxx" glorifies the meaning of dance-floor club music while maintaining that distinctive raw and delightfully dusty flavour of the new-age house sound. Following up, right into the clap-synth heavenly abyss titled Please Him -organic and intricate in it's own right.

Peter Croce takes the baton back from Blair French for Rocksteady Disco's 9th release entitled Agape. It's vision is similar to Standing Still Is An Illusion, with Peter's unique take on this Afro-Brazilian deep house three-tracker. The a-side holds "Agape (Love Wins)", a deep and emotive house cut, with driving drums and lush strings that tease until they climax. Kicking off the b-side is "Maracatu Detroit", an upbeat love letter to Peter's home city produced through a bouncy Brazilian-funk lens, a track that is sure to bring a smile to the dancers. "Bufe Bufe" closes the release, featuring Peter on live electric bass/guitar and afro-stomp drum execution, brought to a peak with Yoruban talking drum + vox. Mr. PC roots the growing effervescent world beat sound with an explicitly Detroit and Chicago voice.

Calling on who's who of modern electronic’s greats, RÜFÜS DU SOL harness the unquestionable expertise of this all-star cast to adapt their dark, emotive and gargantuan single 'Innerbloom'.

The result is an array of dancefloor-destined destruction from the legendary UK superstar Sasha, melodic deep house wizard Lane 8, and Germany's very own H.O.S.H.

Piston Recordings’ next adventures in vinyl come in the form of the superb album sampler from Ritz and his latest studio album titled Meditation. Portuguese DJ and producer Ricardo Cardoso aka Ritz has been a stalwart for us over the years, he continues to deliver the goods, raising the bar with every release. We got excited when he told us about his new album so we just had to make sure we selected four choice cuts to be etched onto wax, furthering the vinyl revolution.

First up on the A-side we have the smooth and dreamy vibes of Acid Sundays which takes us on a post-club ride that will regenerate the mind and body. The A2 slot features Roads which heads for the floor with its straight up 4x4 solid beat alongside mesmerizing chords and groovy bassline.
On the flip in B1 Dusty embarks on an urbanised groove delivering a solid deep house joint that will keep any set going in the right direction. B2 holds the title track, Meditation which starts to get into much deeper territory. Tight drums and shuffling percussion join a deep probing bassline as smooth pads engage the senses, drawing us down to the depths. Vibrant chord stabs cut through the darker elements creating a dynamic groove.

An absolute must have for any serious vinyl junkie.

Laconic phrases are all about less words and more sense. We use the same principles in our stripped down grooves which are released on fresh imprint - Laconica. Its all about minimalistic dance-floor tools which were tested in different clubs around the world, from Kyiv's 'Closer' to Concrete in Paris.

For a debut EP, label founder Alex Pervukhin presents 3 different grooves. On the A-side you can find 'Hommie Groove', which is an excellent example of a broken-beat house music with good-old airy Juno pads. On B side there are two 4/4 tools: 'BB', which could be heard in Varhat's mix for Concrete which was so hyped last year. 'AA' is a peak-time killer with analogue chords and jackin bassline. Strong minimalistic grooves - exactly what Laconica is all about.

Scott Boutin aka Blue Soul has been with us since the label was in it's infancy. This 3 song 12" properly showcases Bluesoul's otherworldly dub house acid disco sound that is uniquely his own.
