House Vinyl New Releases - News

Louie Vega continues to expand the musical boundaries of house music with his unique ability to combine the essence of classic disco, soul and funk with the percussive energy that is the driving force of dancefloors worldwide. His new work is a second preview into the epic and forthcoming Expansions In The NYC album. This album will include selections that represent the many musical movements on which the House Music genre has evolved right up to the current time. Louie has a few special guests in mind to join him on the album as well, all of which will create unique collaborations that will launch the project into an area of worldwide interest. As one of the world’s longest independent dance labels, Nervous is well suited to present this momentous project.

It’s often said that great talent is in the DNA, and that’s most certainly the case with the Vega family. The A side of this 12” is “How He Works,” a blast of gospel – laced dancefloor energy that includes a stellar featured co-production with Nico Vega. The track has been buzzing buzzing massively ever since Louie debuted it at one of his sold out Expansions In The NYC events in New York. The 12” features two dubs, and fans will have to wait for the album to get the full club version.

The AA side include the peak hour gem “Can’t Slow Down” and the inspired “Vince Montana Tribute.” “Can’t Slow Down” shows Louie’s creative abilities at their best as he re-shapes a vocal from a Nervous Records classic house jam “Rushing” by Loni Clark, and with full approval and appreciation from the original producers Mood II Swing, re-creates something that will absolutely blow up dancefloors today. The “Vince Montana Tribute” (Louie Vega and Rick Wilhite from Detroit Rework) is a heartfelt and equally impactful production in which Louie demonstrates his appreciation for the disco sounds that he grew up on in the iconoc borough of Bronx, NYC.

MLiR and Barcelona based Arnau Obiols' (this time under his Velmondo moniker), journey into the world of esoteric Leftfield sounds continues with their latest EP on disco hero Prins Thomas' "Internasjonal" imprint.

Joining an impressive label roster and built on a healthy foundation
of acid, space disco, Krautrock, and tribal house influences, the 4-tracker "Mad Honey" captures the guys pulling a live ethnic rhythmic section over quirky synthesizers and psychedelic sounds, resulting in a sure shot to satisfy even the most curious dancefloors.

After the strong debut outing with Canada's finest Nick Holder, the Selections imprint return with this latest exploration from Rough Recordings founder Tobi Danton. Starting things of "That's right" combines low thumping bass grooves with delicate pads to form a beautiful representation of peak time energy. This theme then continues on the a2 with "1988", a cut which would fit perfectly booming out of the once legendary Chicago warehouses. B1 once again ingrains that Chicago influence, with a deep Knuckles esc cut that is sure to evoke emotions at the end of the night. Finally, Kevin Over takes on the remix duties on the B2 with a warping dub fuelled rework which does not hold back on the low end.

Harry Wills steps up to the plate and hits two home runs on 2XYELLOW: floor focussed business on the A-side and a smooth slice of summer on the B.

Manchester-based producer Mason Maynard is welcomed to Hot Creations to present McLovin’, featuring two tracks of equal magnitude that display his vibrant talent. Mason’s debut release on the formidable label is set for release on 10th April.

On the flip, the spellbinding Remedy features a snaking sub-bass complemented perfectly with the powerful vocals of Ursula Rucker. “In its original form the song featured an old acapella from Ursula, but when we were put in touch with each other we knew we wanted to create something completely fresh.”

Mason Maynard has already built himself an exceptional reputation, with his groove led productions backed by some of biggest names in the business including Carl Cox, Jamie Jones, The Martinez Brothers, Green Velvet, Skream and Seth Troxler. His releases on Repopulate Mars, DFTD, Sola and Relief (where he has collaborated with Green Velvet) have been supported heavily on BBC radio.

In 2019 he toured the world, with sets at EDC, Hideout, Creamfields and also across Ibiza during the summer. Praised homecoming gigs took place at Manchester’s Warehouse Project and in front of 15,000 in the Hangar at Parklife Festival.

2020 will see Mason go from strength to strength as he continues to tour the USA and announces his new FANTAZIA label. Working alongside USA electronic music heavyweights Insomniac, FANTAZIA is inspired by early acid and raving culture with a debut release dropping on 6th March.

Skyrager presents the first in a series of dance floor edits designed for optimum peak set destruction!
'Beat Girl / Wonderful' is already generating heat on worldwide dance-floors in the skilled hands of crack selectors including Hunee, Lovefingers, Mark E and more.

'Beat Girl' is our A-side, a heavy, throbbing EBM monster... like something discovered on a long lost Belgian white label with it's sharp French femme-fatale monologue and nagging acid bass-line. Trust us, this one sounds ultra-heavy on the system! Things get a little 'sexual' about halfway through and then those guitars kick in, yes, GUITARS, scuzzed out, fuzzed out chords run rampant over this beast and you're gonna love it. This is that sleaze, put your phone away, pick up the amyl and JACK.

'Wonderful' is just that, a ridiculously rare South African (!) cover of Italo overlords Klein & MBO's cut of the same name. There shouldn't be much more to say here, but you should know that it's a stellar combo of hypnotic drum machine rhythms, mind melting synth bass-lines and super dreamy spoken word vocals. It's almost as if she's speaking directly to you as you lose yourself in the smoke and lazers, let go, you know you want to...

The debut release from Detroit native DJ Holographic and Detroit transplant Alex Wilcox, Parallel Shiftingstrives to changeour thoughts so that we can breakfree fromnegative psychological programming. This feel-good EP aimsto reprogram the mind to be fresh and new. You may experience dimensionalshifts in your mind and reality as you defy space and time. Side effects of this may includereduced mental chatter and a better future selfand society.

A powerful and lofty goal such as this deserves a strong beat, and A-side “Parallel Shifting” delivers this in spades. Featured in DJ Holographic’s 2020 Mixmag Lab set, Holographic and Alex found themselves inspired by Thomos and Derrick Carter when crafting the track. “Parallel Shifting” is about shifting the gears in our minds and hearts, and allowing ourselves to be open to changes in how we perceive reality.

With “My Feels,” Holographic expresses her current attitude towards the connections between all of us. “Our feelings control our surroundings and reality more than we give them credit for. When we feel abundant, abundant things happen to us. However, if you feel empty, then you bring about empty situations. As a DJ, I do my best to be mindful of the feelings I project into a room, while also being mindful of everyone in the room with me. Everyone is coming in with different experiences, but when I play I want people to feel high vibrations.”

“Because Of Detroit” taps into the rich history of Detroit, which has informed Holographic and Alex’s own musical DNA. The seeds that we are all given in life are a product of our heritage. In order to bloom properly, it's important to know your full story and what kind of seed you are in this world’s vast garden. If you know how to properly nurture your seed, then you can take care of yourself and others. Knowing their roots helps both producers to grow stronger than their ancestors.

A Bit Dandy EP is the first release to land on the seminal Hot Creations from sought after producer East End Dubs. Here he serves up three club-ready rollers that showcase his distinct production style, keeping in tune with the Hot Creations signature sound.

Well known for delivering slick and texturally rich tracks, East End Dubs sculpts each output to be a dynamic mix of function and form with a real sense of soul, and this delivery on Hot Creations is no exception. Dis kicks off proceedings, with a low-swinging bassline and punchy vocal hooks, building and dropping throughout for maximum impact. Next up LFO follows suit, with another highly infectious bassline, that whomps and oozes the sound of the UK. Last up, Staines Groove bounces along as spacey synths play in and out to create trippy moments on the dancefloor.

East End Dubs has an impressive back catalogue on various labels like Fuse and Moon Harbour as well as his own East End Dubs Vinyl. Putting out limited edition slabs of multi-coloured vinyl, the hotter than hot label has become a much talked about outlet that has found its way into the bags of serious selectors like Raresh and Riccardo Villalobos. The talented producer is also the man behind Eastenderz, which puts out his own work as well as A&Ring exciting new talents next to established favourites. The vitality of his DJ sets have taken him across Europe, America and Australia. From Eastenderz Showcases in Berlin, New York, Ibiza and Zurich to fabric, DC10 and Amnesia Ibiza, he plays high profile gigs and international festivals, and always leaves his mark.

Trip further out with hypnotic, spacey, percussion-led disco collages from Peckham's Nebraska. Think King Tubby at The Loft or Echoes-era Pink Floyd at the Paradise Garage and you're in the area. The music of sound for deeper dance floors.

An ode to dancefloor escapism. Alinka once again navigates her way around making house music weird, catchy and jumpy for the first release on her new label Fantasy Life.

A Ukraine born, American raised and Berlin based artist and DJ, Alinka has tipped around the most interesting cores of sound creation over her career. Absorbing the many influences of her musical passions, she has created her own version of emotional catharsis, revealed and reborn on the dancefloor. From censorship to flourish, Chicago born house and sparks of Detroit techno; the omnipresent struggle of finding ways to consume and create dance music has made her thrive in creating tracks from a broad palette of sources.

Do What U Want is a five-track long love-letter to dance music and unity to open her new label. Working with classic sounds, Alinka keeps it fresh and interesting, with addictive vocal and squelchy acid stabs. Reshaping house music patterns, collaging 4x4 beats with more complex layers of sound that don’t just fall in a box that’s labelled ''100% classic house''. The intention was to make strong, powerful and timeless music designed to evoke pure joy.

Fantasy Life is inspired by Andy Warhol's piece ''Fantasy love is better than reality love''. The concept was driven by the honesty and emotions that it accompanies. It couldn't have been a better time for the thought process to materialize into this project. Alinka explains - ''A dancefloor can essentially be an escape from reality. Music can take us to another place and serve as a safe space and an escape from our everyday lives and problems. On a perfect day, you see people of all walks of life dancing in unity and it feels like a fantasy. ''

Secretsundaze welcomes Eliphino to the gala relaunch of their imprint for a thoroughly satisfying mini album of contemplative jacking and dulcet breakbeats.

Eliphino's most recent 'Realistic Sex EP' on the hotly tipped Meda Fury label boasts thunderous breaks, 303s and serious sub-bass pressure which has gained praise from tastemakers such as Jon K, Carista, Josey Rebelle, Moxie and Gilles Peterson.Having flexed with this darker edged EP after a long lay-off from releasing, while sharpening his skills and reconnecting with his musical inspiration, Eliphino is now ready to really cut loose with 'Breaking Up Is Hard' - a statement longplayer that dreamily investigates the dusty spaces between house, breakbeat, ambient, hardcore and acid. Tom This album came about as way of focussing my energy in the wake of a significant break up. I tried to experiment with melody and texture to convey some of the range of emotions that come with such a testing time. That being said, the B-side bangers are more dedicated to abandon and forgetting your worries.

Hailing originally from the Leeds, but with time spent in both London and Berlin, 'Breaking Up Is Hard' lands somewhere between the Hessle Audio crew, Joy O and Selected Ambient Works era Aphex.

Having previously released heaters for Brownswood and Hoya Hoya over the years, Eliphino stepping up for the debut artist LP on the reactivated Secretsundaze label feels like a natural fit as James Priestley explains:

""We've collectively had a connection and friendship with Tom that goes back several years and in fact it was receiving this work as demos that really spurred and inspired us into getting the label rolling again. It feels totally right to be working with him on this and for this mini-LP to herald the relaunch of the label as it moves towards a more artist led as opposed to EP driven approach.

9 track album with Manmade Deejay Remix

Taking cues from balearic, old-school hip-hop, breaks and cosmic, Telephones keep the vibe strong whilst delivering the first non house- or techno-related release on his label. This 5-track EP conjures up a nostalgia-fueled hypothetical mutation of early eclectic influences from Pal Joey, Sade, Ace Of Base and Bone Thugs n Harmony to Lil Louis, Baldelli, Weatherall and N.W.A.. Reports from sources familiar with the material claim "..it sounds exactly like today-Telepohones, just minus 20 BPM, plus skateboard-mushroom-hairdue (think Louie Barletta) and baggy Droors". A truly special one for the real heads. Cop it!

We are proud to present another debut on Axces Records, this time from label head Alfredo92. The A side kicks off with Mimis, an explorative bass driven track with crisp snares and bubbling synthesizers. Next up is the title track Helfand, whose experimental sounds and textures take things in a mystic IDM like direction.
On the B side we Adax_pcp, a hypnotic club cut which further explores complex pulsating outernational rhythms. Finally to seal the deal we have Scalex, a twisted dancehall tune with splashes of futuristic sound design.

Conclave is a gathering.
Conclave is a coming together.
Conclave is con clave, a unifying rhythm that is the key to unlock dances ancient and contemporary.
Conclave is Cesar Toribio and Scott Scribner, multi-instrumentalists whose alchemy is evident in the ebb and flow of their compositions, paradoxes of the delicate and powerful inextricably woven around the rhythm.

After a dozen live shows over the past couple years, the Brooklyn-based group take their first steps on vinyl with an impassioned cover of the soul standard “Sunny,” a song whose Latin Disco pedigree makes it the perfect canvas for the Dominican+New Yorker collaborators. An ethereal gospel choir lifts Toribio’s heartfelt vocals over twining guitar and keys that gradually build and eventually bubble over to ride a churning bass line into the heavens — Paradise, in this case, being a funked-up extended instrumental jam on the groove.

Seven Davis Jr. joins the circle for a flip side remix that is nothing short of stunning. Languidly paced, the sparse mix gradually grows in intensity with an unforced charm that lends a startling drama to the entrance of the rippling bassline a full three minutes in. When the keys finally arrive like a burst of light thru the clouds, the door to the dance has been fully thrown open and the listener’s transformation from bystander to part of the conclave is complete.

The release of “Sunny” is rounded out with an acapella, available on vinyl and digital, an enticement for future collaborators, perhaps. Conclave’s debut album will touch down summer 2020, but this Most Excellent 12-inch is certain to hold you over till then, and beyond.

After a decade wandering away from the Dance music scene, Julien Jabre returns with an emotional voyage through "Samana". The A side opens on the Levant mix where a nostalgic yet hopeful theme takes a ride on solid minimal drums. The horizon sucks the swell and the fleet fades away with "Far at Sea" on A2. The B side plays a more drums/beats oriented edit of "Samana" infused by clubhead friend Lazare Hoche. Julien relaunches his own imprint with this release and many others to follow.

TYR007 comes from German / French producers Mystigrix and Reo Seis with the title track featuring vocals from house legend Paris Brightledge. The duo go deep on this release, staring out with the relaxed “Drift Inside” followed by the upbeat and infectious “Mile High” featuring Brightledge’s vocals.

On the B-Side, deep house maestro Dubbyman supplies a brilliant remix putting Brightledge’s vocals over an ethereal dive. This brings us home to “Traffic Jam”, the perfect groove to close out the summer.

Calypso is back with a new instalment of their world exploration in the search for new sounds. This time and with the help of Nicola Cruz they choose to showcase the city of Quito. In Nicola's own words: "From the highlands of the Equator, an eclectic sound develops in multiples forms: tension, gravity, drums...un-dusted elements from old records, retranslated to tape in order to revive the emotion. All the tracks in this compilation have been assembled through different experimental methods, as this is something that characterizes our creation around here. The work of FE, Quixosis, NTFL (from the city of Ibarra) and my self represent in this record some of the underground fields that this city offers". Indeed an experimental way to experience this city through the sounds of this 4 amazing producers.

Sudd WAX is a vinyl only label of Sudd Records Family.
Santonio Echols also known at Tresor and Detroit Dancer Records, the one behind D Records presents 6267 EP on Sudd WAX 6th release. Two authorial deep house, groovy, classic underground dance-floor tunes. - And a special co-production with Mike Anderson, on the finest deep moods.

Sébastien (yes, we are on a first name basis with him now) returns.
His music is always unique and alluring, it continues to push the emotive genre's boundaries while maintaining his signature.

“Ashes In The Wind”, a beautiful and melancholy piece brims with sadness and longing. Not the obvious first choice of many for the lead track but, after a thousand plays around the world’s sunrises and sunsets an enduring and classic in the making.

“Menabelle” takes inspiration from last year's hit, “Lanarka”, using and twirling cut up vocals to soaring effect. The EP is closed out with the classy and stylish string and synth gem, “Secret”. Beautiful and patient this track sends the EP out into deep space.

Close your eyes and dream.

Love, Leee.

Keep It Moving is a 6 track groove-oriented release that ventures between techno, beatdown, and downtempo styles. The release starts out with a pair of harder-edged techno cuts. The pensive, smoky "Martial State" leads the way, followed by "Struck Down Strike Up."

Next, the Chicago-based artist dives into slower tempos with the pleasingly dissonant "Cyborg Proposition" and the acidic, atmospheric, "They Don't Know". The record picks up in terms of mood and tempo for the house-leaning, "Rising Poem", before closing out with the catchy, head-nodding title track.

Samples are peppered throughout the release that help guide this record's narrative. Artwork by Chicago-based artists Ruby T. and Betty Heredia help capture the mood of the A-side and B-side respectively

Perpetual Rhythms co-owner, Taelue let's you into his world of introspection with his debut mini-album; Reflections.

There's an undeniable air of quality that lingers over the 12"s emerging on '14th Level Of Paradise', the mysterious label presenting originals, edits and repressed tracks for true deep house/nudisco devotees.

First up is a little known track from Pawel Kobak, given a shimmering polish to become a heavy disco funking masterpiece, before Adam Jace drops in a percussive dub delight on Dana Kelley (Callisto) "Manga".

On the flip, Mateo & Matos get things pumping with the bumping chunky deep vocal classic "Joy 2 My Life", before Vincent Inc returns for another deep house killer as he remix chicago house legend Vincent Floyd "Economy of motion".

Though he only released a handful of records in the early to mid-nineties Chicago house legend Vincent Floyd aka Floyd Walker has gained a cult following amongst the Chitown trainspotters and hardcore house fraternity. His majestic productions have attained mythical status with serene synths and crystalline keys on new 'Time Machine EP' and the harder-edged deep anxiety of Kazarian remix, while Lola Allen deliver a magical ambience experience on her Outro mix. Studio don Vincent Inc always bring unforgettable impressions & inspiration for mind, body & soul. 4 tracks came together to tell music stories about hypnotic deepest stuff, depression, happiness, loneliness, love, miracles and magical experiences. And now we're asking other's to join the sound conversation

Brooklyn -/- London-based label 'TrueColors' follows it's debut release with a 12" four-tracker by Zigan Aldi titled 'Fidale' EP.
Based in Berlin, Zigan Aldi contributed to trueColors' VA from earlier this year alongside Bedouin, Nu and Stavroz, which has conquered the beatport charts and stayed stron in the vinyl charts on 'deejay.de.'

Titled 'Fidale', his next outing on trueColors sees Aldi make use of analog gear and original recordings of real instruments as opposed to samples, as well as tape to mix the tracks down.
This year has seen the producer gig regularly in locations like Ibiza, Vienna, Berlin and Istanbul where his live performances incorporate musicians.

The tracks have gotten tremendous support and love throughout the summer, at the Saga parties at Heart Ibiza, where Zigan holds a residency. Deep chords and echoing effects make up 'Fidale' as a medley of instruments ebb and flow from the mix, making way for the low-slung groove of 'Moonfly' with its infectious guitar licks and serene aesthetic. 'Beni Beni' incorporates organic drums and soaring atmospherics that blend together with Turkish vocalist Meltem Cumbul's chanting voice, until 'Nu Past' concludes the release with its crunchy percussion and sultry bass ..."
