Urulu real name Taylor Freels unleashes his Greetings From Namek EP this Berlin based California boy has recorded for some of world's most respected house labels such as Dirt Crew, Let's Play House, Needwant Shabby Doll Records, Morris Audio and his own Amadeus print....

With an innate talent for sunny, contemplative chords and clever drum programming this EP shows off his blissed dubbed-out club sounds he's become enamoured with while living in Berlin, as well as the synth-driven disco and boogie sounds which were a constant in his California upbringing.

'NEEDS' returns for it's 1st birthday celebrations, returning to where it all begun with a record in aid of mental health and featuring the talents of DJ Normal 4, Red Axes and Hodge. Following on from the Needs x HeForShe record earlier this year with Peggy Gou & Juju & Jordash, the label are back with a record aiming to raise awareness about mental health and encourage positive conversations surrounding the subject. In October 2018 DJ Rocca and Almunia member Leo Ceccanti joined forces to deliver “Rhythm Collision”, a three-track EP of jangling, sun-kissed grooves, psychedelic dub disco and Afro-Cosmic flavours on Really Swing. 18 months on, one of that set’s standout cuts has been given a new lease of life courtesy of fellow Italian producer Alessandro Pasini AKA Deep 88. Since making his debut a decade ago, Pasini has earned a reputation as one of house music’s understated heroes – an artist whose hardware driven, retro-futurist take on deep house tends towards the timeless, melodic and atmospheric. With a deep love of turn-of-the-90s dream house, Larry Heard productions and sun-baked chords, his dancefloor-focused productions have often been called Balearic.

It’s perhaps fitting then that his reworks of Rocca and Cecanti’s “Ever Changing Bubbles” are as Balearic as they come. His “Balearic Mix” sets the tone, with Pasini layering trippy, dubbed-out and ear-catching elements – Ceccanti’s eyes-closed electric guitar solos, jangling acoustic guitar chords, warm dub disco bass, echoing spoken word samples, fluttering flute solos, drowsy organ motifs and the pair’s delay-heavy vocals – atop a crunchy, head-nodding, live style beat. While it deviates from the duo’s original version, it inhabits a similar sonic space – albeit in a more dancefloor-friendly way. Pasini excels himself on the accompanying “Balearic Dub”, stripping the cut back to its raw essentials – drums, metronomic bass –while toughening up the percussion and adding delay-laden instrumental snippets. It’s warm, woozy and otherworldly, with echoing voices, tactile musical motifs and restless delay trails combining to create a suitably hazy and intoxicating mood. By the time the touchy-feely flute and acoustic guitars begin to dance across the sound space, you’ll be lost in the groove and too happy to notice.

Hodge is a man of truly Well Rounded talents - creating infectious melody laden deep house with Outboxx, across to his own weighty bruk-techno movers for the likes of Deadplate Records, to his recent truly forward-thinking collaboration with the ever inspirational Pev.

Here however we wanted to showcase some of the more unconventional ideas he incorporates into that original yet essentially house & techno related direction of his. After discussion we discovered this was somewhat inspired by science fiction novels. And why not

'Holographic Prose' opens proceeding, skittering about in an anti-gravity atmosphere the bass literally 'comes up' in this. Fluttering melodies and wooshing chords over a piston-driven rhythm builds the tension until all electronic heaven breaks loose on deserving dancefloors.

Tripmastaz touches down on Infuse as he delivers the four-track ‘Whut Klubb Phuture Holdz’ this May.

Having released a wealth of quality cuts across the house and minimal spectrum for over a decade, Russian-born DJ and producer Tripmastaz has grown to become a go-to producer for many, serving up his dynamic blend of house sonics accented by hip-hop influences via notable imprints such as Ovum, Yoyaku and Bass Culture. Following collaborations alongside the likes of DJ Sneak, Guti, and Satoshi Tomiie, and sets at European hotspots including Heideglühen, Watergate and Rex Club, the Plant 74 Records boss now makes his Infuse debut as he delivers four fresh productions in the form of his latest EP, ‘Whut Klubb Phuture Holdz?’.

EP opener ‘Klubb Lonely’ welcomes a low-slung effort guided by slinking hats, rumbling sub-bass and resonant synth leads, whilst ‘Da Phuture’ combines skipping percussion, sweeping atmospherics and tripped out vocal hooks.

Next, the lively ‘Original Rudebwoy’ sees sharp hi-hats meet two-step drum arrangements atop of menacing garage tinged low-ends, before closing proceedings with ‘Someone’ – a paired-back, groove heavy production led by infectious vocals and airy chords throughout.

Digital Rain Systems hail from Winnipeg and their music presents a perfect halfway point between the lounged-out house of Vancouver and the more ethereal beats bubbling up from Montreal. The project started as a way for Cole Woods and Jory Hasselmann, both members of the band Human Music, to explore their budding love for house, techno and ambient music. The result—simply titled "Vol 1."— sounds like a duo discovering decades' worth of electronic music all at once. They list Larry Heard, 808 State and Windham Hill Records as influences for a sound that skirts the edges of classic techno, dusty house, dub, electro and New Age music. Those might be standard influences these days, but Digital Rain Systems put them together in a far from standard way. Woods and Hasselmann’s recording techniques stay true to their live music roots: recorded off-the-cuff in a single take straight to tape from a BOSS mixer. The songs are built around samples and fastened to heavy, bucking basslines and twinkly chords that come from their modest collection of hardware. It's a rough-and-tumble sound that recalls the early work by Canadian acts like D. Tiffany and Aquarian Foundation but is very much their own. Take the plunge on this adventurous spread of audio. Following hot on the heels of his acclaimed 2nd album 'Solar Nights' German producer Tim Bernhardt, AKA Satin Jackets, returns to bring some much needed warmth to the winter with the release of the 'Golden Cage' EP.

Featuring three brand new instrumental tracks, the EP sees Bernhardt venture into more introspective territory, eschewing the more upfront pop direction of recent collaboration with Panama, 'Electric Blue', for something softer and more intimate.Â
Easing us into the EP, ''offee and Feels' is both classic Satin Jackets and aptly titled. A comforting blend of warm synth pads, gently unfolding arpeggios and plaintive guitar all wrapped in soft gauzy textures, 'Coffee and Feels' is just the thing to kickstart your day on a mellow autumnal morning.
'Meridian Gateway' meanwhile delivers the kind of optimistic yet wistful melodies that Bernhardt has time and time again shown himself to be a master of. Built around a series of poignant piano notes the track gently unfolds and reveals itself, shimmering like the first frost of the year catching the morning's rays.
Closing the EP we have 'Mercury Moments' which injects the susurration of distant voices into the mix of sparkling melodies, echoing chimes and finger clicking rhythms to stunning, emotive, effect.
Whilst 'Solar Nights' showcased Bernhardt's skill at crafting thoughtful left field pop music and coaxing the best out of lyricists and singers alike, the 'Golden Cage' EP reveals he's still a dab hand when it comes to crafting dreamlike nu-disco, as warming as a mug of gluhwein in midwinter.

1-800 Girls makes his debut on Shall Not Fade sister imprint Lost Palms with the dreamy, feel good ‘Dancing For You’ EP.

Only the pure underground house headz and serious vinyl diggers heard of Acupressure... Mainly because they only did one release on Party Rockin Records which was a limited pressing back in 1992, but what a release it is! Serious and timeless deep house all the way.
The original master tapes are missing but luckily Acupressure have been able to remake this beauty and now it will finally see the light of day again.

Athens of the north is not just here to release great music but to support our artist development and experimentation, to this end we always try to bring good people together to work on new music.

This LP fuses two massive talents, for the first time to AOTN we introduce House and Techno legend Linkwood, joining him is one of the |UKs most respected Jazz Artists Greg Foat, who will need no introduction to AOTN fans.

'Linkwood & Foat' is the first LP to be recorded in the new 'Athens of the North Studio', which was designed and built specifically for our artists so that they can create without the time pressures or expenses of studio hire elsewhere.
With no fixed plans, no rules or expectations, the pair relaxed in the new studio and started making music. The result is very special indeed.

Linkwood had just returned from walking in the wilds of an Ibiza summer and Greg had similarly been immersed on the sun drenched south coast of the Isle of wight. This freedom and sense of space saturates the grooves of the LP juxtapositioned against a deeper late night basement club feel they both love so much, the pull between nightlife and the freedom of nature.

It's extroversion and introversion, the freedom and escapism of the two seemingly opposing environments permeates this recording.

Dom Trojga bounces into 2020 with an EP beautifully crafted by one of Warsaw's finest young talents - 2shy. Best known for his work as one half of the burgeoning duo Private Press (of Indigo Area & REKIDS fame), Night Conclusion is his long-awaited solo debut. Citing late 90s US house luminaries and Polish underground hiphop as some of his main influences (WSP's deep classic Faktem Jest was an actual reference during mixing), 2shy combines deep sensibility, great skill and genuine vehemence across the four tracks, telling a story that blends right into the greater narrative of house music, while adding to it its very own emotional touch. To use other words, Night Conclusion is a tender slammer, and does it good for DJs, dancers, lovers and night-time dreamers alike. The label art is an acrylic painting by Micha? Ratajczak, whose work we admire greatly. We've only just begun - look out for more Dom Trojga!

Slow Hearts have been bubbling under the surface for a little while now. Subtle, beautiful melodies that linger in the memory. ‘Eyepads’ in it's original form hypnotized the crowd at Lee Burridge's Robot Heart sunrise last year.

It's gentle nature felt perfect for a groovier approach. Whom better to ask than master of the groove, Tim Green. We rarely remix anything on the label therefore we are shooting for quality over quantity. Tim not only added a more driving groove and a killer bassline but also amped up the emotion mid way into the track.

It's a bomb. Promise! The EP also features two more trademark cuts from Slow Hearts that ooze quality and spread the love where ever you play them - Love, Leee.

The A-Side opens with a thumping piano house groove & continues with "Checkin' You Out," a disco loop filtered to perfection. The B side starts with a drum-heavy DJ tool, "Possessed," which gets a silky deep house remix from Mainzbased tracksmith, Tilman. A solid EP, sure to bring sunshine into dark times, marks the start of an exciting new label!

PT 003 –Borrowed CS –Balance|AscendEP PT003 sees Planet Trip take a Trans -Tasman journey to Wellington, NZ for a new EP from the prolific Borrowed CS, alter ego of Lord Echo Drummer, Cory Champion. All four cuts on the EP see his deft drum programming laying a foundation for a tough and diverse record. The A-side holds thepercolating jack track‘Balance’ and the bleepy cinematic synthwork trip “Ururangi”. Flip it over and you’ll find the infectious outsider boogie jam“ Mystic Shuffle” sitting comfortably next to the hazy and dubbed out club construction Ascend (Model 101). Club and or lounge room ready.

Disco icon D.C. LaRue and Fraternity Music Group go back to the original multitracks and rework two classics from the Pyramid Disco catalog. With DJ Spinna, Johnny Juice (Public Enemy) and Mell Starr on remix duties, LaRue’s “Face Of Love” and “Indiscreet” are revitalized and tuned up by and for DJs and dancers. Juice’s intense, ‘80s house flip of “Face Of Love” sets things off before DJ Spinna gives the song a classic white glove treatment, extending and dropping drum breaks at all the right times. Mell Starr rounds things out with straight-to-the-point mix.

The flip side sees Juice get creative with it once again, with a dubby, cut-filled version of the break beat classic “Indiscreet.” As a DJ who’s cut the original up a million times, Spinna knows exactly where to freak the beat on his version of “Indiscreet,” lacing it with monster open drums throughout. Once again, a classy Mell Starr mix closes out the side of this jam-packed 12-inch.

Heavyweight pressing and an immaculate full color jacket utilizing the original Pyramid Disco sleeve design makes this a must-have for any funky DJ.

Rising UK talent Jamie Trench returns to Roush to kick start 2018 as he delivers his latest EP 'The Foundation', whilst Robsoul boss Phil Weeks steps up on remix duties.

With releases on the likes of Tsuba, VIVa Music, Kaluki Musik and his own Roots For Bloom imprint, Jamie
Trench's career continues to go from strength to strength, gaining support from the likes of Steve Lawler, Santé
and Sidney Charles through to Brawther, Cinthie and Move D. Having entered into the industry at an early age,
Jamie soon found himself playing at some of Ibiza's most prestigious venues including Space and Zoo Project
and Privilege, going on to play closer to home at The Warehouse Project and Ministry of Sound. Here we see
Trench return to Roush to deliver four fresh productions, whilst Parisian Phil Weeks offers up a classy remix on
the flip.
Title cut 'The Foundation' opens the EP and sees Trench layer organic percussion shots and delicate hats
under an ever-evolving synth lead, before 'Blow The Back Out' unveils a drum infused workout, laying down
tough rolling kicks amongst quirky vocal shots.
Next up, 'Turn You Around' transports listeners to sunnier territories as an influx of bright pads and soulful vocal
hooks work in tandem with garage tinged interludes, whilst Weeks' interpretation introduces the Frenchman's
trademark skipping drums and effortless groove throughout.
For digital purchasers, Trench also offers a dubbed out version of the title track as 'The Dubnation' skillfully lays
the focus on a low-slung groove line and murky undertones.

Move D's 'Building Bridges' is David Moufang's latest studio album. Close friends and long time collaborators, Thomas Fehlmann, Fred P, Juju & Jordash, D-Man & rEAGENZ all feature alongside Benjamin Brunn. Building Bridges was recorded at reSource, Heidelberg between 1999-2019 except "One Small Step..." which was recorded at Thomas Fehlman's Space in Berlin

This album initially started out as an entry for the Inside Out series on Aus - based around the idea of collaborations with his nearest and dearest but when David sent me the music and wrote a few new tracks there was such a cohesive, timeless feel to it as a body of work I decided that it had to be a stand alone artist album. These tracks have been written over a twenty year period and involve 6 people but it sounds like it was written in one sitting. This is testament to David's creative aesthetic and the closeness of the relationship with his collaborators as a common feeling of warmth and smudged soul oozes out of every poor of this record. In the A side we found ""On the Bridge To Boscobel"" takes u into the sublime with it's deep bassline and hypnotic chords, and ""Mike Experiment"" is a dancefloor breaker. In the B side ""Sassy Lead and a Familiar Bark"" and ""Whatever, Whatever"", are deeply emotive house with a lot of groove that will make you not stop dancing.

Praying For You is the new single from the critically acclaimed and universally celebrated gospel-enriched soulful house album “Rejoicing” by Jasper Street Co. Featuring lead vocals by Randy Roberts, and backing vocals from Richard Burton, Vonita White as well as Randy, this song features a unique and highly infectious rhythm track that caught the ear of none other than the Grammy award-winning and world-renowned artist/producer/DJ Louie Vega. Louie heard something special in “Praying For You” and produced a set of remixes – including the peak hour On My Knees Dub – that are destined to be some of the biggest dancefloor bombs of 2019.
Also included on this great double vinyl package is a remix from KDA, who has enjoyed a massive 2019 with multiple plays for his music on Radio 1, including the chart-topping “The Human Stone” featuring Angie Stone. As a bonus the package includes the David Morales remix of Smile, which was not included the original album package.

PIV Records launch a second vinyl label alongside the well-respected PIV Limited series and do so with a 2 x 12” VA. The double LP is packed with 8 solid cuts that represent label frontmen Prunk & Chris Stussy’s take on contemporary deep house with which they are taking the world by storm.

Following last year’s often praised “EMU” Electro Music Union, Sinoesin & Xonox Works compilation, Cold Blow is unearthing more Metatone affiliated material from the formative years of British techno. The EP is, for the most part, unreleased and unheard music circa 1994 by Kieran Warren aka Atonal. It appropriately bridges the 27-year gap in output by headlining the release with the only previously released track, “Cithare”, which featured on a Metatone Recordings compilation as a teaser of what was to be his solo release on the same label. The planned debut never saw the light of day due to sudden folding of the label but fortunately, a lot of the material Kieran produced survived on archived DAT tapes.
Clearly not immune to the influences of its era, considering the music was produced in the first five years of the ‘90s, there is still plenty of originality to be found. While the title track conjures up the melodic patterns of Selected Ambient Works married with the rawness of Universal Indicator, the rest of the EP takes a more broken beat approach. “Malago” and “Cluster” send us floating into dimensional space with ethereal pads harnessed with rolling breaks. As if almost an antithesis of its title, “Northern Soul” takes us to a more sinister direction which sounds like Mike Paradinas after a particularly rough ragga evening. The EP closes with a heartwarming drumless vignette that is “Saw Her Yesterday”, perhaps giving us clues of things to come. After all, the label has announced that a full-length album drawing from the same tape archives is expected later in the year.
A must have for the fans of early Aphex Twin.

ick Lenoir and Larry Thompson aka Black Traxx dropped several volumes of their own brand of chopped up Disco sampling, deeper side of House. From 1991 through to 1994 the Black Traxx EP's were showing up in record stores, obviously giving respectful nods to other Chicago DJ's and producers the tracks included on the EP's contained a DIY spirit and rawness that were key ingredients. Lenoir, with the technical assistance of Gary 'Jackmaster' Wallace has revisited these classic releases for 2017 and the pair have turned in some special, exclusive extended versions of some of the highlights from the series.
This, the second sampler of Black Traxx cuts culled from the various volumes picks up nicely where part 1 left us off. If it's that raw, deep, basement Chicago House sound you're after then these guys have you covered. Kicking off with the 1993 remix of 'Dreamin' which is a sublime late night organ driven groover, this one ticks all the boxes if you dig that NY / NJ Garage sound, but with a Chi-town twist! 'Soul' is up next, lifted from 1993's 'The Soul Package' collection. A stripped back, vocal led jam steeped in atmosphere. This one is for the dancers for sure, no nonsense House music for heads and hips.
Flip it over and the B-side opens with 'Shake', a tough, gritty, percolating banger with a tribal-esque edge. This one's a weapon and almost fits into that Baltimore / Chicago 'ghetto House' mould. A proper club track, no prisoners taken. This one has been gently extended by Rick and Gary for maximum club pressure! EP finisher 'Party' is a much more subdued groove giving a respectful nod to the JB's with that infamous 'Paaaarty' chant. No frills in the best possible way this one's another solid club groove, pure food for hungry turntables and sound-systems. All of the tracks included on these samplers have been carefully selected, arranged, edited and extended for precisely these reasons!
This reissue has been realised with the full involvement of Rick Lenoir and Gary Wallace and is 100% legit! All exclusive extended edits have been made by Rick and Gary specifically for this release. Don't snooze, this one deserves a spot in any self respecting House heads record bag or DJ set, classic material made available again for 2017 - You can't stop it!
