After the huge success of their first release, Krab Records welcomes some new but familiar faces to their second record. Having showcased some of the best new artists coming out of South America, the second release changes shores, as Krab produces a record brimming with Europe's best minimal house selectors.
KRB002 enlists original tracks from Italian born Dubfluss, who delivers two atmospheric, dreamy cuts taking the listener on a very upbeat trip. The B-side showcases an intricate remix from Lee Burton, who provides a signature spaced out roller. To finish off their second 12", Rubisco's head honcho Nick Beringer changes the pace, creating a proper dance floor bomb.

The mysterious Pejzaz (1/2 of Ptaki) returns to The Very Polish Cut-Outs for another sample-based excursion.
While his debut - 'Ostatni Dzien Lata' ('The Last Day of Summer') was a love letter to the 60's to 70's nostalgia, baroque pop, soul (and their extension through the golden age hip hop), the sophomore is built around dancefloor oriented cuts, deep house, r'n'b and quirky excerpts from Polish pop (like a couple of bars nicked from a Duran Duran cover).
It fills in the gap for a proper house/pop/DJ album coming from Eastern Europe.

A new sub-label of the longstanding Canadian electro imprint Suction Records, Ice Machine — focusing on old-school wave/post-punk sounds — is thrilled to present a new, deluxe reissue of “Pow Wow”, the debut 1982 solo LP from Cabaret Voltaire’s Stephen Mallinder. Now expanded to a double-LP, and also released on CD/digital, it’s a definitive reissue which now includes Mallinder’s early solo discography in its entirety. This collection of mutant dub/funk/postpunk sounds just as fresh and contemporary in 2020 as it did in 1982 (note Autechre’s inclusion of standout cut “Del Sol” in a mix earlier this year), and highlights Mallinder’s crucial contributions to Cabaret Voltaire.
Some words from Mr.Mallinder on the scene and era from which “Pow Wow” was born: “It was an interesting, and inspiring, time. The primal caterwaul of punk was dying and lots of really significant things were emerging from the fires. Much looser vibes were in the air and there was a much more exploratory feel. Punk had championed a visceral, anti-intellectual approach but in truth the real characters brought so much more to the table, and what began to happen - from people like The Pop Group to Throbbing Gristle, and emerging scenes from No New York to Factory Records - is we began to embrace the art of it all. There was acknowledgement of the importance of books, films, graphic art, and experimentation with all those mediums. We were just as interested in turning over rocks to see what lay beneath, as throwing them. There was a sense of new magik emerging.”
“Pow Wow” was commissioned by the Fetish Records label, and recorded at the Cabs’ Western Works studio, where Mallinder would spend his days recording with Cabaret Voltaire, and continue on alone into night recording his debut solo material. “I slept very little in those days,” he adds, continuing: “It was done on 8 track and very multi-tracked, so lots of recording, then bouncing, and overdubbing, to get the integrated feel of the tracks. I became very adept at pressing record then jumping onto equipment to play it - it was actually a very 'live' record in that sense. I've always seen rhythm at the core of what I do so I loved the layering of counter rhythms. The sequence/arpeggiator parts were all drum machine triggers that were played live. It was about creating a distinct groove so arrangements came from weaving in and out of those linear grooves. It was fun to play everything from drums, guitars, keys, trumpet, percussion, tapes… and record and produce it all. Prince got it from me!”
Surprisingly, Mallinder’s first solo LP would also prove to be his last - that is, until last year’s critically-acclaimed solo return “Um Dada”, on Dais.
This new edition of “Pow Wow” contains 14 songs, and is housed in a recreation of the original, iconic Neville Brody jacket, painstakingly recreated using scans of Brody’s original artwork elements. The 2LP vinyl edition is in a reverse board, thick-spine jacket, and adds a 12”x24” folded poster/insert, featuring unused elements from Brody’s original designs, sketches, and instructions for the LP. The CD edition comes in a reverse board, 6-panel digipack.
2-11 from the Pow-Wow LP on Fetish Records, 1982.
13-14 from the Temperature Drop / Cool Down 12” on Fetish Records, 1981.
12 from the Fetish Records compilation The Last Testament, 1983.
1 edit from the Pow-Wow Plus LP on Fetish Records (Japanese pressing), 1984.

Future Disco, pioneers in bringing 21st century disco to the dancefloors, returns with its highly anticipated latest edition, A Disco Fantasy, on 27th April.
Inspired by the unparalleled flamboyant expressionism that the original Disco era captured so perfectly, A Disco Fantasy, takes listeners on a dazzling journey of House and Disco with exclusive cuts from club veter-ans Louie Vega and Greg Wilson, as well as exclusive edits from Future Disco themselves. The album also showcases some of the genre's best new talent with Young Marco, Johannes Albert, Lovers and COEO all featuring across the uniquely crafted seventeen track mix.
A Disco Fantasy delivers the soundtrack that makes clubbers' dreams a reality. Picture scenes of the al-most mythical Studio 54 where club-goers lost themselves in the music, the movement, the lights and the moment. Horses roamed, sexual expression was free and celebrities danced amongst a crowd that was dressed for the catwalk. Disco was always about fantasy and still is today. Future Disco's - A Disco Fantasy captures this uninhibited spirit that was so electrifying and continues to be to this day.
Kraak & Smaak - Keep It Together, kicks off the album with an uplifting, pacey track that delivers a classic disco synth and bassline to match. Amp Fiddler - Steppin' (Future Disco Piano Edit) ramps up the mix with a classic 90's piano, along with the euphoric Sylvester - Dance (Disco Heat) (Louie Vega Re-touch Edit) and pumping Delphi - Blue Tuesday. Get lost in the moment with Ten Ven - Turn It Up and experience those sun rise spine tingles with Pale Blue - You Stopped Dying.

Planetary Notions boss Joe Rolét debuts on Infuse to open April with his ‘Maximum Width’ EP, backed by a remix from Rich NxT.
A rising name within his home city of London, Joe Rolét is a DJ and producer whose passion for subbed out club music with a cosmic twist has seen him become one of the scenes hotly tipped talents – a sound that’s also reflected in full via his bubbling label, Planetary Notions. Releasing music from artists such as Per Hammar, Lopaski, stevn.aint.leavn and Desert Sound Colony whilst welcoming the likes of Vlad Caia and more to join as guests on the imprint’s Rinse FM show, 2020 now sees Rolét follow up releases via Beeyou, Courtesy Of Balance and his own Planetary Notions imprint as he makes a debut label appearance on Infuse with ‘Maximum Width’ EP this April, accompanied by a remix of the title cut provided from FUSE resident Rich NxT.
Lead cut ‘Maximum Width’ sees Rolét introduce his blend of slinking, reduced grooves atop of bumping low-ends whilst working an infectious vocal throughout, whilst ‘Rounding’ sees warped synths, off-kilter melodies and further tripped out vocal snippets come to the fore. On the flip, FUSE favourite Rich NxT puts his stamp on the title track in impressive fashion as he raises the tempo and introduces sizzling bass stabs and rolling hats, before rounding out proceedings with the hypnotic ‘Amber Road’ – a paired back cut that harnesses soaring sci-fi leads and wriggling percussion arrangements to great effect to shape up an impressive debut offering.

KNLB first appeared with the Initialize 12" on Vibraphone in July of this year, and it's not taken them long to return with another slab of on-point, upfront house music loaded with flair and imagination. "Up Again" is a heavy, chugging and bumping jam that should inspire all manner of screwed up faces of appreciation on the floor, and then "Fog Machine Smell" simmers things down to a more measured house groove. "Half Life" brings a few more dubby elements into the mix, and then the club mix of "SIN" sends the record spinning off in a wonderfully dusty reverie of detuned pianos and late-hitting drums.

At the forefront of the dance music landscape, DJ/Production duo and label heads, Catz"n"Dogz are well and truly in the driver"s seat of their musical journey. Starting out as close friends, the pair have risen to critical acclaim, leaving a lasting impression on the electronic music community with their honest productions and label releases;
spreading the love far and wide. With friendship as one of the main precursors to their success, they present a warming and emotional album channeling the intricacies of "Friendship" and relationships. Escaping to a wooden cabin in the Spanish countryside village, Cercedilla, which also shares the name of the opening album track, Greg and Voitek came together to create an album that re-wrote the Catz"n"Dogz history book. Known for their diverse style and ability to craft varying pace and rhythm, the duo sought out consistency with their "Friendship" LP to make an album in the truest sense; a long player to be listened to as one body of work. The 4x4 beat underpinning all music across the project, "Friendship" encourages listeners to be at one with themselves and enjoy their life; to go with the flow of highs and lows that come with it.
As a testament to the bond that has allowed Catz"n"Dogz to build and establish themselves, they invite a band of close friends and like-minded peers to collaborate on the album. Vocalist and guitarist James Yuill on the Spanish inspired "There", fellow polish native Rosalie. on "Mind" and deep vocals of ZENSOFLY and Maxville on the funky "Wave". Travelling into new territories of cross-genre and lingual collaboration, leading Polish rapper, Taco Hemingway lays down lyrics in English on Yi Fang. Along with longtime friend Kiddy Smile and fellow creative mind Rouge Mary, teaming up on 90"s house inspired love song "One Plus You". Appearances also come from WhoMadeWho on the cool and breezy "Never Go Down", before later delving deeper into the ethereal voice of Jono McCleery in "Would You Believe" and the eerie folk-esque vocals Egle Sirvydyte on second-last track "Water".
Sharing the same name as their countryside escape, introductory interlude "Cercedilla", eases the listener in with warm notes and raw samples of running water taken from the cottage that became their home. "New Love" celebrates new possibilities and challenges that come throughout life; narrated with rumbling break-beat and euphoric synth lines. Big kicks and funky melodies in "This Feels Real", build anticipation for what is set to follow in the acidic elements of "Questions"; denoting the rollercoaster of emotion one can experience throughout the relationships we make. Hugging the listener with emotional piano chords, "Moments Turn To Hours" encourages the idea of being at
peace with oneself, acknowledging the long and hard times and allowing them to pass on by. Looking back to the Berlin days of Catz"n"Dogz, "Last Song For Berlin" summarises the decade they spent there. Celebrating the people and friendships they made and channeling the soulful side to a city so lauded for its darkness in the
Techno scene. Picking up with "Hedonic Treadmill" drum and bass elements, layered with emotive keys and uplifting soulful samples, see out the album with a sense of euphoria and hope for the future.
Left and right, yin and yang, Catz"n"Dogz. Greg and Voitek are proof that opposites do attract. Now living in different cities and leading alternative lives, their friendship blooms stronger than ever, culminating in their truest and most heartfelt body of work to date " "Friendship". After a small hiatus spent extending his family, Leftroom label head Matt Tolfrey is back with one of his vital new EPs. The Leftroom motto was always The Extended Family so it is fitting that Tolfrey’s life is imitating his art. The new EP, though, finds him returning to his roots, to classy minimal and house across four fantastic cuts, and could maybe a tease towards a bigger project ahead...
Opener ‘Feel The Same’ is a high pressure track with spinning hats, filtered vocals and busted bass stabs that sweep you up and carry you along for a thrilling ride. ‘London Road’ is built on bristling drum programming that is tight and kinetic, with warm pads fleshing out this more direct yet delicious groove. ‘Under The Skin’ features Lil Mark and is a manic bit of busy minimal that recalls great slick Gemini. The busy synths wrap round the fluttering snares and wonky drums and Lil Mark’s freaky vocals finish it in style. A dub version is also included for more stripped back moments in the night.
This is a big return from one of the UK’s most respected artists

Best Record Italy take the time machine all the way back to 1979 to revisit the wonderful Italo-Disco delights of Adolf Stern, whose "More... I Like It" represents the strangest end of the genre as it was taking shape.
With heavily processed vocals injecting some serious strangeness into the chirpy disco backdrop, it's the kind of track to turn heads without a doubt. "Twenty Seven" on the B-side is equally magical in its capturing of the era, with the more obvious surface elements underpinned by a truly intoxicating line in synth arpeggios.
Once again Best comes up trumps refreshing the history of Italian music of all shapes and sizes.

Borneo’s eighth release brings a sweet little five track compilation of eccentric and exotic electronica. All music is lovingly composed and constructed by the label’s family and close friends.
Ultrastation is the lovechild project of Cosmic Force and Nuno Dos Santos. Their Eau De Voodoo kicks this EP off with a fire starter made out of driving afro rhythms combined with mesmerizing vocal samples.
Phones On Fail Jah by Fader sees a quirky digital take on digidub. Centered around filtered chords, a deftly curated selection of melody and percussion is put through its paces.
The enigmatic Fizzy Veins poured his hart out on the song Handbrake. Guitar play over a subtle synth line, all sprinkled with fragile vocals that are almost drowning in the sea of echoes that lies underneath.
Rotterdam’s Nous’Klaer mainstay Mattheis has contributed V21. A stealthy weapon with synth driven melodies and electronic rhythms that are slowly morphing in and out of each other. This will hypnotize any dance floor.
Samo DJ closes the excursion with a remix. He handpicked OVFiets from the Borneo vaults, an unreleased techno work out by party crew Marck. Samo’s version brings the original in a more airy, wholesome and percussive state of mind.

German native and Desolat regular Basti Grub makes a much-anticipated debut on Crosstown Rebels with Destiny. Serving up a stunning two-tracker, the release begins Basti’s impressive 2020 schedule that will see him work on his fourth studio album.
Beginning with the shimmering of cowbells and a subtle rolling kick, the instant impact of Destiny is prevalent right from the get-go. Patrick Kitchen’s soothing vocal tone soon coats the track with a seductive feel, perfectly rounding off a cut that is alluring and danceable all in one. The mood quickly changes with Drugs, as Basti brings us a spinning, peak-time number. In-your-face and unapologetic, prevalent kicks converge on Julian Smith’s captivating monologue that discusses everything from altered states to space and time, to create a hypnotic, floor-filling record.
Having first found a home on Loco Dice’s Desolat label in 2010, Basti Grub has continued to cement himself with an unrelenting schedule of quality releases. In recent times, the likes of Mobilee and Hot Creations have provided a platform to showcase his ever-changing sound.

Elbee Bad is another great underground house pioneer from the formative days of NYC house in the late eighties. His body of work now gets compiled on Rush Hour Recordings.
Like the Burrell Brothers, Elbee Bad aka Lamont Booker, is an early house producer from New York City. And the comparison doesn't stop there, Elbee Bad has also recorded under different aliases and has also remained largely unknown to a wider audience. He has also recorded for Nu Groove Records, for which he has recorded his most famous material, but like the Burrell's he wasn't a Nu Groove fixture. Bad recorded for a slew of other independent New York house labels like Bassment, City Limits, Easy Street, Red Heat, United States Of America and then there was his own LaRhon Records.
Almost 25 years have past since his first release, yet 'The True Story Of House Music' is the first time Bad's catalog gets compiled for re-release. Although the best and most prolific part of his catalog is his late 80's and early 90's output, Booker never stopped producing (and dj'ing). He is currently residing in Berlin, from which he still manages his studio and travels throughout Europe to DJ.
Prior to the compilation we release a vinyl only sampler which features two exclusive and previously unreleased mixes of two tracks which are to be found on his only solo Nu Groove EP, from which we took the title of this compilation.
This is another winner from the true history of house music.

Crosstown Rebels assemble an A-star team of pioneers and legends for the next mammoth release on the label. 'Touch Your Body' comes courtesy of Felix Da Housecat, Jamie Principle and Vince Lawrence aka The 312 with sublime remixes from Moodymann.
Felix Da Housecat explains how growing up on south side of Chicago I was a huge fan of Frankie Knuckles and Jamie Principle. Vince Lawrence was over at Chicago Trax and was the blueprint A&R and catalyst there signing anything hot. By this time I was around 14 and I had just made my first record 'Fantasy Girl', with DJ PIERRE. Over the years I was becoming obsessed with Jamie's sound. We soon became friends and always discussed working together and it took 15 years. Frankie's passing woke me up. I felt I wanted to do something special and it was time to fly back to Chicago to my roots. I wanted to go back where it all began and work with the originators. I called Vince and said I need your mind, guidance and your studio and all of us in one room to bring that spirit back in my soul. I told him we had Jamie Principle and the rest I guess is history. I wanted Crosstown for the project as I felt Damian was the only guy worthy and would understand and treat this project right. House Music needs this right now.. So here we are.'
Felix Da Housecat's career spans more than thirty years with two Grammy nominations. Never failing to impress, he now brings us his latest venture as producer of The 312 project. Jamie Principle is one of the most recognisable voices in the history of house music, featuring on some of the first house records ever made including the seminal 'Your Love' with Frankie Knuckles. Business man, producer and Trax Records organizer Vince Lawrence is another true Chicago house music innovator, responsible for the pivotal house track 'On & On' with Jesse Saunders and the 'Virgo Tracks' releases. Mahogani Music founder Kenny Dixon Jr. aka Moodymann grew up in Detroit with his first several releases appearing on Carl Craig's Planet E imprint. 2016 saw him next in the series to mix the respected 'DJ-Kicks' with outstanding results

Three years ago Butter Sessions launched their now celebrated label with the stunning Jackel EP from Aussie duo SLEEP D
This follow up Jackal EP PT.2 features two cuts assembled for a live show at Inner Varnika, flipped with the stunning new (& title) cut.Their rough and ready approach is still very much front and centre, but the duo's sonic palette has developed to incorporate a richer set of ingredients & refined melodic elements without ever losing sight of total dancefloor domination.

The Portuguese say that ‘saudade’, the emotional state of nostalgia and the emotional thrills it can trigger, is an extremely powerful thing. It’s certainly hit Tom Trago hard in recent times, with the Dutch producer naming his new self- released single – his first since 2017 – after this distinctively warm and fuzzy heightened emotional state.
Trago’s nostalgia pangs were a direct response to his new life on the Netherlands’ North Sea-facing West Coast, a move that provided the musical inspiration for his 2018 album “Bergen”. While happy in his new home studio, Trago found his mind wandering back to countless happy days and nights spent jamming with friends and contemporaries in his basement studio beneath Volkshotel in Amsterdam.
“Saudade”, Trago’s latest single, was made during one of those all-night Amsterdam studio sessions alongside JP Enfant, a DJ/producer best known for his residency at De School and releases on his LET Recordings. The A- side “Main Mix” fizzes with excitement and the possibilities of the night ahead. Sentimental, emotion-stirring chords, lilting lead lines, chiming melodies and ecstatic electronics rise above a chunky, hot-stepping drum machine rhythm. It’s nostalgic but immediate: a musical marriage of two giddy producers living for the moment.
On the flip you’ll find the “Ambient Mix” set to soundtrack slow-burn sunrises the world over. All immersive synthesizer chords, yearning musical motifs and seductive melodies, it sees Trago delivering a suitably tactile and loved-up soundtrack with which to usher in the dawn of a new day.
