House Vinyl New Releases - News

Following the hypnotic 'What's In Your Head' EP in 2016, Archie Hamilton returns to Moscow Records with his first solo EP on the imprint since the release last year. Since finishing 2016 with a place in RA's top 100 DJs poll, he's been touring the world, had a summer residency at Amnesia and released another massive EP on FUSE. An integral part of the stellar ascent of the brand, and founder at tastemaker label initiatives Moscow Records, Moss Co. and Arkityp,he is an artist very much in control of his rise.
The record opens with Confusion; an out and out anthem which has been tearing up dance floors across the globe all summer. A trademark bassline drives the track forward as stabs build, tight percussion cuts through and a repeating vocal enters. Then when the track drops it shifts the mood completely, causing any dance floor to bump uncontrollably.Dos Equis is something different altogether. Minimalistic percussion and a tight sub lay the foundations for a funky bass guitar line. Warming pads meet Rhodes keys and out of nowhere a beautifully subtle vocal line appears. As the track breaks down, a mind bending synth line takes the listener out of their state of reflection.
The title track on the flip is a classic piece of groovy Hamilton weaponry. A positive mood that bounces along to a whispering voice in the background. The track develops as lush chords permeate the groove, soaking the dance floor in the last of the summer sun to create a euphoric crescendo.

NDATL continues with collaboration from DJ Spinna (NYC) & Hugo LX (Paris) Your flight begins with "Liquid Keys" smooth lush workout with an ear tingling solo on top. "Meteor Man" moves into a house break flow with beautiful horn injections. Then we move into uncharted territory with the sublime "Prickly" a quirky instrumental groove that encompasses the listener while on this Astral Flight!

Freerange hit their 250th release running and who better to announce this respectable landmark than label co-founder, A&R and most regular contributor Jimpster. As a producer and DJ with almost 30 years releasing records, he shows absolutely no sign of slowing down, and with the label heading towards it’s 25th year Jamie Odell still seems as hungry as ever to continue pushing himself and the label eagerly into the new decade.

Joining Jimpster on the title track One is NYC native Casamena. The producer, DJ, vocalist and label boss (he launched Ocha alongside Osunlade and has remixes and releasing gracing the likes of Vega, Yoruba and Strictly Rhythm) delivers some fresh hip-house vibes inspired by house-dance slams, b-boy battles and Body & Soul sessions. Jimpster’s production makes the perfect pairing, melding layers of deep pads and punchy 707 percussion, his deft musical touch ensuring the end result is warm, soulful and uplifting.

On remix duties we have none other than the man of the moment, legendary producer whose credentials includes names like Slum Village, Mahogany, Sound Signature, J Dilla and Dwele to name just a few; Detroit’s own Waajeed. His One Nation Remix goes strong on epic strings, hooky Moog lines and masterful beats, thinning out the vocals to make room for pizzicato stabs in what is effectively a deep, emotive dub which bumps along flawlessly.

Closing out the EP we have another original entitled The Way It Is. This is classic Jimpster in B side mode: a slow burner which will reward you after a few plays, it’s subtle textures and sound palette offering something new on each repeated listen. One of those tracks to drop at the afterparty to boost those last remaining drops of serotonin, inject energy into weary legs and spread a warm glow throughout the room.

Set for release in January 2020 on This Never Happened, Lane 8’s ‘Brightest Lights’ LP is the third artist album in just 6 years from one of the fastest rising melodic house acts in that period. Beloved for his commitment to his no-photos/filming This Never Happened touring concept, Lane 8 aka Daniel Goldstein has developed one of the most passionate and fastST growing fanbases in dance music thanks to a prolific stream of unique music. The latest step in his ascending journey, ’Brightest Lights’ is an album that captures the positivity and emotion of the Lane 8 DJ experience - joyous and lost-in-the-moment, as well as offering the more reflective and emotional songwriting that featured on his past LPs such as the critically acclaimed ‘Little By Little’ (#9 Billboard Critic’s Pick for Dance/Electronic Albums of 2018).

Following on from a series of sold out headline shows at 5,000 capacity venues such as Brooklyn Mirage, Frank H Ogawa Plaza in the Bay Area and Grand Park in Los Angeles, Lane 8 will be taking the spirit of the album on tour with a 28-date transatlantic headline tour at venues such as The Mission Ballroom in Denver, Aragon Ballroom in Chicago and London’s iconic Printworks. “We are so bombarded with negative energy at the moment, especially on the internet, and in my opinion you have to literally and consciously remove yourself from the loop at times to remember all the positive and amazing things happening every day,” explains Daniel Goldstein. “‘Brightest Lights’ is about focusing on that positivity in the world.”

The title is taken from the first single, out today, in collaboration with Channy Leanagh from Poliça. Having also contributed to the lead single (‘No Captain’) on the last Lane 8 album ‘Little By Little’, Channy’s creative alliance with Daniel has evolved into a deeper partnership, with a week of sessions producing two further collaborations on this album in ‘Shooting Arrows’ and ‘The Rope’. Loaded with beautiful songs, the album also features two collaborations with UK based Arctic Lake in ‘Road’ and ‘Don’t Let Me Go’, as well as Jens Kuross , Nevve and Kauf. Lead and anchored by a series of distinctive and inimitable instrumental tracks, standouts include the quirky intro ‘Groundhog Day’, joyous synth epic ‘Sunday Song’ and peaktime progressive techno banger ‘The Gift’

Really love this album. This is probably some of Malcolm's best works, although it's hard to decipher as we like nearly everything he writes. As an album, it sounds like he's put everything he has into it, full of emotion and diversity. It's hard to say which track is our favorite but we are torn between Faithful Fearful and Regrets. Keep up the good work Malcolm as this is a masterpiece. Anyone who sleeps is missing out.

The new a.r.t.less release is by no other than UK Techno gentleman & Rave maestro Mark Archer. His EP "Songs For Einna" was produced in 1996 and originally released in 2007 as a limited edition of 93 copies only, we thought it's time that we make this fantastic music available on wax and digitally for some more people and especially for the new generation of music listeners to enjoy it!

'Gatluak' receives a remix treatment by Nandu and Hyenah - now on vinyl!

The irresistible pairing of Steve Bug and Langenberg return with 'Paradise Sold' - a full double-vinyl- album of exquisitely crafted house music on Bug's own Poker Flat Recordings. Neither Steve Bug nor Langenberg needs much introduction due to the sizeable contributions both have made in building the European house and techno scene as we know it. Bug's relentless commitment to quality - both in his own work and in the many producers he has championed - has made him one of electronic music's most revered artists and curators. Langenberg aka Max Heesen is the deep guru of the German Seep House Scene. One half of the duo Ribn, he has released on labels like Drumpoet, STHLM Audio, Strax Leaves, Ovum and most notably on Dessous who put out his debut solo LP released in late 2016. Put these two dons in a studio together, and the results are truly special. The album is a masterclass in house music production and came to life as a true collaborative work. It feels great to work with Max and I don't know why we didn't get to work together earlier' says Steve Bug. It feels very natural to be in the studio together and our two worlds match easily. I think I speak for the both of us, when I say, by combining forces we came up with tunes, that we wouldn't have created on our own.

Original 2002 12”s in pic sleeve, don’t miss!

With Apir we are happy to introduce a new name, but yet a familiar producer behind this moniker. Tim Green has been around for quite some time now and just released his well received album on Cocoon Recordings last year.
While Tim Green’s sound is very melodic & playful, Apir has a much more stripped back approach, focused on a certain sound and direction. We felt this was the perfect follow up to our very own ‘X’ EP on Siamese.

Derek Carr re-issues his highly sought after Warm Machines EP on his own label Trident Recordings. Four smooth, warm and uplifitng Detroit rooted House tracks in Derek's singular style.

North South are channeling the early 90s with this sprightly new release from label co-founder Henry Hyde. There's a clue in the title "I Heard You Like To Squelch" - the acidic synth line underpinning the track is certainly one to whip out the gum boots for, but it's also lifted by bright and hopeful string pads straight from the Motor City blueprint. "My Function" is a playful track with more snappy synth plays and a catchy earworm vocal hook. "Sick Rick" has a more minimal outlook, but there's still space for a proper cheeky bassline, and then "Second Face" completes the set with another wriggling, wiggly groover to get all kinds of mischief going on in the club.

We've been fans of Rampa's oeuvre for a long time and last year he gave us the incredible - Necessity' for Innervisions.
So 2017 he starts with a bang on his co runned imprint Keinemusik. Housemusic with a glimpse for the future to come... Kristian

Legotek's first LP is brought to you by Tel Aviv based Dot. Imagine one of those special sets. The kind of musical story that sticks in your mind for ages, you always remember and in times can scoop endless seeming power from. Well this 8-tracker from Dot just about fulfils this kind of stimulus. Each track can be seen either as one special individual or the whole package as one big flowing journey. Mixed together this could easily turn out as a live set. Now then, about the unique music and its seductive vibe. Staying true to the underground heart of Legotek Dot has managed what many aim for in effort. A vibrant, lively and deep sound constantly accompanied by strong kicks and pumping melodies. The analogue core of the story has been given the breath of life to become a classic piece of deep house history.

With its fifth EP Verdant Recordings finds a home for a debut release for Interjection from London. A covert producer who has been refining his production and sound under the radar for some time. Common Places is a beautiful 4 track EP of live analogue deep house jams. Subtle and yet drenched in soulful emotion the music is built around spacious, crisp percussion and warm deep basslines. The sounds are moods are reminiscent of early Chris Gray and DaRand Land....an EP for the heads.

FIELD OF DREAMS hark back to early 90's cross-pollination / indie-dance sounds with a heavyweight proto prog banger, already causing much mayhem.

MIND FAIR and sir ANDREW WEATHERALL are drafted in to flesh out the beast within, and do so with aplomb...

500 hand-sprayed, recycled sleeve copies (each individual) - first come first served...

Over the past year or so Field Of Dreams have been gaining support from many of the heavy hitters on the scene without actually having any music released.

Their huge remix of Les Crocodiles', 'La Nuit Des Tropiques' being a case in point.
That's now been remedied with their recent releases on Pleasure Unit being quickly followed by this monster!

Released on their own label and remixed expertly by one of those heavy hitters, Mr Andrew Weatherall, and the hugely talented Mind Fair, this is set to explode.
The Original Vocal mix tips its hat to that 90's indie, progressive dance championed by the Guvnor back then, featuring a heavy breakbeat, huge bassline, dub pianos and panpipes!
Then there/'s the vocalist, Mr Bradley, who sounds, uncannily, like a certain Mr Lydon which may throw some but works a treat.

Strap yourself in and enjoy the ride.

500. Numbered and hand sprayed recycled sleeves (so each copy individual !)

JAMES DUNCAN (INNERMOODS/HIZOU) splits the newest ROUNDABOUT SOUNDS 12" with the SPIRIT OF THE BLACK 808 (HIZOU/EARGASMIC) with the sample-based deep house gem "MORNING MIX" as the SPIRIT OF THE BLACK 808 offers the live recorded techno track "ROUGH BOUNCE". 1-sided limited & stamped pressing.

MATHEMATICS RECORDINGS continues to push boundaries moving into boogie & funk territories with KELTON PRIMA'S "IN2" album release. The project is a fusion of Nubian synthetic textures with that popular Parisian R&B dance aesthetic of AIR, DAFT PUNK & GEORGE DUKE.

Following releases from Huerta, Mandar and Makcim & Levi last year, Oscillat kicks off 2019 with an assured, brooding club 12" from long-serving producer Matthew Dekay. Since surfacing in 2001, Dutch producer Dekay has put out a formidable body of work under a variety of aliases and in collaboration with producers including Lee Burridge and Maher Daniel. His sultry tech house approach has graced labels as highly regarded as Innervisions, Cecille, Aras and Maeve, and now he comes to Oscillat with "Spellbound," a track that finds him diving deeper than ever before into hypnotic, swinging rhythms loaded with atmosphere and longing. On the B side, Oscillat bosses Mandar (Lazare Hoche, Malin Genie and Samuel Andre Madsen) take Dekay's original and inject it with an infectious peak time energy, creating a straight-up, acid-flecked workout that sits in neat contrast with the immersive shuffle of the original.

Second time around for "High Flyer", the sole single from The Underground Sound of Rome side project Ricardo. It first appeared on Vibraphone Records way back in 1992 and has since become an in-demand chunk of original Italian deep house. This re-mastered reissue includes the same versions as the original pressing. The A-side boasts the original mix, which while Italian in origin sounds like a sublime mixture of dreamy, Nu Groove style NYC deep house and New Jeresey garage. Arguably even better is the "Angel Mix", whose ethereal, elongated chords, epic ambient build-up, undulating bass and humid electronics are much closer in tone to the kind of "dream house" tracks that were all the rage in Italy following the success of Sueno Latino's 1989 single of the same name.

A well-loved early offering from the RNT vaults gets its first ever vinyl release! The Groovers (aka Steve Ferrand and Finn Campbell Nottman) had a brilliant period of musical productivity in the early 2010's, and the “Make Me Feel EP” is the apex of their efforts.

Lush and deep, this 3 tracker is a straight vibe beginning to end, from the uptempo bounce of Here’s To You Mr. Robinson, the whimsical lilt of Make Me Feel and the absolutely stunning slow burner 'Where You Belong', which gets a glorious side all to itself on this pressing.

Judging by the comments section on the original Discogs release page alone, this one is gonna make some folks very happy!

Repress Soon!

Afterlife Recordings continues its focus on emerging talent with the first solo EP of Aether, following his collaboration with Mind Against on 'Solaris' and a track on the Realm Of Consciousness compilation.

From the textured atmospherics, harmonies and innovative sound design, it's clear Aether has found his voice already. Balanced between the powerful, emotive techno Afterlife is known for and more introspective experimentation, the three tracks share a tonal richness and patient headspace, lending themselves to the dreamy hours on the dancefloor.

Glenn Underground is one of the most respected deep house producers from the Windy City. His releases on seminal labels like Cajual, Prescription and Guidance set him apart as the outstanding talent from the Chicago underground of his era. GU's 70's Trip is one of the most sought after releases on Cajual Records (1997), showcasing his ability to fuse disco and four to floor in an inimitable style

Special Remarks: limited edition 10' vinyl, serial numbered Tracklist 10'
Mooryc 'Simply' was the opening track of Fenou Bouquet Vol.2 mix compilation last autumn. The Pole who's now living in Berlin impresses here especially with the brilliant vocal part. His track is lovingly arranged and embedded in a harmonious sound collage and the underlaid beats try to permeate everyone with their massive drums. Stop thinking, let go ... the perfect slowing. Dapayk conjures from the dreamy original a floor compatible remix. Said and done - He does it with his relaxed manner and without sacrificing the essential elements. As usual the 10 vinyl release is again a limited edition and numbered by hand.

Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange is the meeting point of improvisation and dance music.

Headed up by drummer Ziggy Zeitgeist, a staple of the Australian music scene, most prominently touring and recording with Melbourne Nu-Soul/ future-jazz collective ‘30/70’. Ziggy’s music has already been championed across the breadth of the jazz and dance world, with support from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Kamaal Williams, Byron the Aquarius and Alexander Nut just to name a few.

Growing up in Australia, with no real club culture in sight, Ziggy’s formative years were at the ‘bush doof’ - an outback rave where speakers were driven to remote lands and dance music would blast from the wee hours in the morning to the wee hours at night. This is what Ziggy describes as the playground of Australian Electronic Music.

“This is our culture of electronic music. It’s about exploring the spectrum of consciousness and a connection with ourselves, one another and the land.”

Z*F*E*X is the synthesis of dance music in human form. A live band experience humanising the extended DJ set. Heavily influenced by club culture and transcendent psychedelic experiences - Z*F*E*X is a continuous odyssey of sound, where synths intertwine with flutes, jazz drums are played with the raw energy of classic broken beat records, and natures call and response is mimicked in musical form.

From the bubbling, syncopated, exuberance of opening track “Candy Flip”, through to the hypnotic, twilight introspection of “Still Swag” (wherein the band are joined by label founder Jitwam), the LP provides a mesmerising, continually evolving sonic landscape. The driving, bossanova-infused percussion of ”Rendezvous” and “Mas O Menos”, meet the insatiable, rhythmic currents of “Logan's Run” and “River Run Deep,” allowing the band to show the full extent of their impeccable musicianship across the album.

“Music is the method of tapping to the eternal source.. the moment, the sacred place we break out of these divisions of the mind and we realise the oneness that abounds us.”

Utilising the spirit of live improvisation, Z*F*E*X reaches to the furthest echelon’s of the human mind to create dance music with a cosmic pocket. Recorded in Melbourne with Lewis Moody on keys, Erica Tucceri on woodwinds, Matthew Hayes on bass, and Javier Fredes on percussion - the recording sessions were an exploration into sound... an exploration into the zeitgeist... jazz music that isn’t jazz, electronic dance music that isn’t electronic.

Second repress of CoastDream’s debut X-Kalay release and now cult record, Soft Moon. With the title track now racking up 1.2m views on youtube (and counting), and both the original and first repress priced at £40 on discogs, we expect this fresh pressing to sell as fast as the first two.

Unfortunately it took a bit of time to present here our third release, but luckily enough we are happy to show you now "We are Groove Cirqus EP". The duo from Italy brings three great tunes with enormous, nice rhythms on drums and percussion. "Semiprofessional musician" a smoot and deep track peppered with vocal shots, starts the EP followed by "U Better Hear" and "Think It Over". We needed a special, great remix, so we get Schallbox's owner Steve Cole who spend a phat and tight one, flavored with some synth sequences. We are sure these tracks will retune every mind and transform every dancefloor to a particular place.

Moods & Grooves proudly introduces Cape Town’s Tshepang Mokoko aka LoopZ The Maestro.

Raised in a musical family, he was exposed to several genres of music including jazz, soulful house, hip hop, and deep house. A temporary move to Johannesburg focused his lens on deep house as it was the dominant genre. Influenced by AtJazz, Black Coffee, Culoe De Song among others, he spent time in the studio developing his own sound. Positive feedback from early demos fueled his passion to pursue music full time and finally, it’s ready for release.

Shallow dreams is a musical journey through the beautiful landscapes and soundscapes of Cape Town. Each track contains a mental glimpse of the area’s natural wonders, art, and design.

Adeen Records and it's partnership with Red Light Bangkok are bringing you the funky sounds of Scott Hess. Hailing from Detroit, Michigan With time being spent living in Shanghai and Berlin now residing in Bangkok, 'Red Light Bangkok 01'. The 3 track EP was forged out of the thick haze of Thai funk that permeates the vivid colours of this city. From the low-slung freakiness of 'The Rhythm', to the subtly sinister, synth-heavy groove of 'Circle Of Funk', and all the way through to peak-time, jacking house of 'Red Light' - each track is fused with Michigan flavour and South-East Asian steam in almost equal measure.

"IN THE COOL OF THE HEAT" is supposed to be a snapshot of the corner where bad pupils such as electronic beats annoy good pupil like funk and groove. What is arising from this ?
A mix between warm human feelings and rhythm given by the machines. This compilation gathers the work of different artists from various music background who helped to keep Mr Godot Rising"

Anthem alert, digging deep into the box marked "Detroit"! Polartronics aka legendary producer and DJ extraordinaire Terrence Parker delivers this almighty grooving kalimba led cut from 1993 on KMS offshoot Trance Fusion. This is one that will get the dance-floor moving in seconds, the real deep House deal!

The vocal mix on side A is a blend of whip-crack percussion sounds, whispered and spoken vocals and deeeep pads, a mixture of winding, melodic sounds that are a little more insistent than the languid instrumental take over on the B-side that somehow retains the mystical spirit of the previous mix but at 20,000 feet below sea level. As the EP title suggests, this is "The Deep" indeed. Absolutely killer stuff from the D here, with TP in full effect, do not miss out on this one!

Re-mastered, re-pressed and brought to you fresh for 2015 in conjunction with KMS / Trance Fusion Records, Detroit USA.

Re issue of R-Tyme's 'Use Me' from KMS off shoot Trance Fusion from 1993.
Fully re mastered for 2014. Featuring incredible remixes from MK and 2 from Carl Craig.

Róisín Murphy shares 'The Rumble / World's Crazy', the final pair of tracks in a series of 12' singles which have been released across 2018 to unanimous acclaim from critics and fans alike. Created in collaboration with Baltimore maverick musician/producer/DJ Maurice Fulton and released through The Vinyl Factory, Murphy gone and made some of the most hip-twitching, pleasure-centre-stimulating music of her life. The lyrics are intense, exploratory and probing - all the while working on the immediate, endorphin-stimulating dancefloor level too - and her voice is finer, richer, more expressive than ever.

We pick up where 'Jacuzzi Rollercoaster / Can't Hang On' left off, and 'The Rumble' may well be Murphy's most life affirming track to date, a euphoric declaration which melds and morphs, grows and swells, anchored by Murphy as a maven for our troubled times. In her own words; 'The Rumble was written with Maurice and Mim Suleiman. Mim is amazing with infectious energy. I needed help as it's a mammoth track, like two songs in one the second half is a vamp in which Maurice Instructed me to preach! Preaching was not a natural stance for me but he insisted I try, now I can't stop testifying, the process has changed me a little.'

We're happy to present you in the future some of the best releases from this unique catalog! Starting with Sex Trax 15 - Spank Spank - Da E.P. This outstanding release was produced by L.A. Williams, Roy Davis Jr. and Phuture founder Earl Smith Jr. who died too young in 2016.

Theus Mago comes from Mexico City, his light is a harness of levitation escalating beyond the galactic thin air. Stars collid-ing, feeding off the dust of unknown ashes risen from the earth and sand in resolve.Doog offers eerie and optimistic vocals to the disconcerting yet comfortably soothing waves of Theus Mago's 'Ella' and 'Smokey Red Lights.'The french duo Il Est Villaine journey Ella to the obscure and swung out dimensions, while Arthur Johnson brings his guitar and synth-laden attitude from the shadows to the brightest dance floor on his mix.
Dreams can be so weird sometimes.
