After some releases from stillove4music and Razor’N’tape, Monchan is back on his own DS Records imprint to bring you “East Village Edits 5”; packed with 4 major dancefloor bombs.

A Side 1st track is a warm and funky female vocal disco that will “Break your Heart”.
Everybody will get to “Feel the groove” of the 2nd track.


B Side 1st track “Party Down” is a simple groovy loop with synth and vocal that will elevate you to the peak.

2nd track of B side "Can’t lose this feeling” is the Monchan speciality, a dollar bin record edit. He polished it off to get the dancefloor moving.

Rising newcomer Jholeyson makes a stunning debut on Hot Creations with Discow, a fantastic two track release that draws inspiration from an eclectic range of musical genres.

The 12” begins with the title track Discow. A high-tempo house number, tinny hi hats merge with whip-like kicks, as an infectious vocal gives way to a pumping, four-to-the-floor drop. Plenty rounds off the release in a minimal, pulsing fashion. A squeaking, electronic bassline couples with soft bloops and subtle keys, as soft build ups lead into gently-changing crescendos.

Jholeyson is beginning to make real waves in the scene. Having produced standout releases for the likes of Posh Records, Harvibal and 1994 Music, it was in 2018 that the young upstart launched his own imprint: Sticker Music. Fast forward a year and the Discow EP marks another strong milestone in Jholeyson’s ever-flourishing career.

Paying homage to the likes of Locked On, Nice & Ripe and Tuff Jam, while also offering fresh new interpretations of their classic sounds, Obstacle’s limited-pressing releases will appeal to a broader audience than just UKG revivalists, at a time when the genre’s influence can be found in the DJ sets and productions of microhouse heroes, Bristol up & comers and Berghain residents.

It was about time for a full album to be released by one of our favourite 030303 artists, the great Rolando Simmons, who's already fed us some amazing eerie and psychedelic bouncy electronic funk, both self released and on this magical label from the Netherlands. This record travels deep into the melancholic mind of the producer and on a wide variety of levels. Opening track Natron gets you right away with an unusual mix of comforting and uneasy atmospheric acid-electro. Dew then, is so touching it hurts - in a classic IDM way that is, with plenty of meandering melodies falling over each other; nothing short of epic this one. Hydrogen Line shows yet another very different side of Simmons, one where fierce, dark and heavy Drexciyan techno/electro vibes reign over your speakers. The heaviest raver on the record is probably Langelo, with the listener being slapped around by sharp, heavy bass wobbles and hard hitting snares, not one for the office! Lastly, closing track Smiley Face is likely to make you grin in a cross eyed kind of way with its intense, synth-heavy and mind bending vibes. Human Touch is an allround, 12 track treat for every braindance fan on the planet. Big tip!

Last year, we released LPH cofounder Jacques Renault’s sophomore album, BK Club Beats, Breaks & Versions, a back-to-basics effort that found the producer eschewing big-budget studio sessions and once again using samples as the clay with which he sculpts his music. Considering the snappy, cut-up nature of the tracks, we thought it’d be fun to invite a few of our friends to take the parts and reshape them into versions of their own design. Here, we present you with the four we gathered. DJ Boring’s is a restive spellbinder stuck in a trancey lock groove; M.I.A.L.’s a molasses-thick slow-mo chugger oozing all over your eardrums; Spencer Parker’s a sunny disco strutter spinning across the dancefloor; and Tee Mango’s a wiggy soul inversion that suavely seduces.

Despite of his young age, Saile from Berlin found his trademark sound already, delivering 3 timeless house cuts for eternity- backed by with a bumping remix by one of Smallville's mainstays- Christopher Rau. Alex Arnout returns with a second EP for the Jack's House imprint. His first EP for the label (Confirmation Bias) was the first release on the label and hit the top 10 best sellers within days of release. The Sync Jam EP features 3 distinctly different tracks. 'Sync Jam' (the lead track) is a true winner with an incredibly infectious loop that creeps in quite early into the track, then the baseline drops in and you are instantly hooked and most likely want to play on repeat. It is the kind of track you wish you had made yourself as the arrangement is stella in the way it builds and engages you. This is a true favourite. 'Calling U' is a really quirky rolling number with both dark and bright tones mixed together perfectly to create a deep atmosphere using lots of interesting catchy keys and patterns throughout the arrangement. 'Resurgen' is a beautiful piece with a true quality mature Balearic sound to it. Warm pads and gentle but effective percussion roll continuously throughout. It is a smooth track that travels, creating a certain of peace of mind.

Far away from earth is Seylanide the mysterious planet of the Erkaargs, and its seven moons.
On the first moon, Nuagon, are the infinite oceans. Long time ago the monks living on flying temples wanted to protect their precious island Oramont from local pirates and sea looters. By powerful magic they created a complex mirror reflection system that virtually made the ocean infinite, merging itself to the sky. Thus Oramont was hidden from invaders. But the sorcery was so powerful that the monk themselves never managed to reach the island again.

SYO is the damned prince. Son of Queen Narkelia he was destined to become king of Nuagon. But he fell in love for a gypsy girl who broke his heart, leaving him in tears. He decided to run away from his destiny and from his kingdom, living as an hermit, far in remote dunes in the desert.

Repetentes 2008 is 26 year old Brazilian multi instrumentalist, session super star, Globo Television soap opera jingle up-and-comer, 40% Foda label boss and Botafogo FR football hooligan Gabriel Guerra. Known affectionately as Guerrinha amongst his friends, Guerrinha - or as he’s referred to officially - Gabriel, turns in Superconscious Records’ 13th edition. After his absurd debut LP on Future Times and his more recent outings on his own 40% Foda and PAN records, Guerrinha keeps things relatively straight up with 4 absurdly fast but not furious club friendly tracks.

After their debut Life Knocked Me, Windows return to Andarta with their second installment of deep, beautiful and wondrous house music. Simply amazing!

HOMAGE goes from "out here" to "really out here" with their sixth release from Mr. Sunshine, a brand new duo from London artists Danvers and Luke Campion. Just like sunshine, this combo pack of techy rollers and UK bass really lights up the dance floor. Starting strong with "U Don't Know Me," Mr. Sunshine aim straight for the dome with a heaving house bomb that might blow up your summer. A cut deeper than the rest, "My Knife" is a slice of UK bass with speaker rattling capability for peaking crowds. Rounding out the project is "God Chord" a breaks influenced bass track equipped with cheeky vocals and a stuttering acid line. Bringing everything full circle is NYC treasure and rising star, Justin Cudmore, who's flipped the standout "U Don't Know Me" into an equally massive club weapon. Folks get down in the sunshine!

Vertigo Inc, the freeform house project of a veteran Canadian producer, returns to the Unfulfillment label with four tracks of kaleidoscopic psy-house, acrobatic acidic exotics, and modal boogie, coaxed from retro machines for a sophisticated, full-body buzz. Come to where the wild things are..

A DIY labour of love since its inception in 2014, Unfulfillment was founded in the US in 2013 to release dance music of an exploratory nature. Unfulfillment releases have been played and charted by Powder, Soft Rocks, Shireef Laffrey, Brian Not Brian, Jacques Renault, Mister Saturday Night, and Luke Solomon.

DJ Rocca returns to Roam Recordings with two new originals backed by an all star set of remixers. The title track Slide to Unlock is a pretty tune that builds a swirling arpeggio under a beautiful electronic melody. In contrast, Uros is a huge gritty track with attitude.

Budget Cuts: Records & Tapes is honored to present five tracks of pure bliss from Bogotá based artist Ronan. Ronan, which translates to ‘A Little Seal’ in Gaelic, is the moniker of producer and artist Robin Lohrey. Lohrey was raised on San Juan Island in Washington and studied at the New England Conservatory of Music. After graduating, Lohrey moved to Ridgewood, Queens establishing himself as the creative director the Felt Presence studio space and and the technical director of the Groovy Groovy underground party series. After releasing projects on Vanity Press and Jungle Gym under his given name, Lohrey created a new musical vision and path with the founding of the Ronan moniker and the Eternal Ocean imprint with the release of the instant cult classic “Prolongez La Magie”.

For his second release, Ronan offers an introspective 5 track EP. Recorded largely during a secluded summer spent living in a cabin in the woods on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State this selection of music spans a range of tempos and moods, creating its own unique narrative space somewhere along the hardcore continuum. This creative period marked an important transition in Ronan’s life and he found solace and meaning in the writings of psychologist and meditation teacher Tara Brach, who’s book Radical Acceptance shares the title of this EP. Her words of awakening from what she calls “The Trance of Fear” activated deep self reflection and inspired this work which represents a testament to the brave act of facing one’s self and to the joy found in accepting who we truly are.

Esteemed Philpot boss Soulphiction is back on Local Talk with Beehive, a track that champions his own take on house, a sound that is both current and classic.

Beehive is in short a no-nonsense club track with freaky stab chops alongside brilliantly programmed beats.

Adriatique's new label Siamese returns with its second offering, the debut EP from electronic live duo Stereocalypse.
Title track 'Lace Star' is a subtle yet hypnotic record. Sterocalypse utilise the full duration of the track to add layers to an ever evolving soundscape, with a guitar, echoing synths and a subtle bassline coming together towards the track's climax.
It's followed by the humorously titled 'Not A B Side', an atmospheric cut with a fusion of percussive and electronic elements giving it an exotic feel. In the most comprehensive display of the Afterlife sound so far, Tale Of Us compile 12 of the tracks they've been playing to great effect over recent months into an impressive and truly singular statement of their sound. A body and brain dance through the realm of consciousness.

The 12th Downbeat release comes from the south east of Ireland.
Alan Smith is a producer from Waterford with tracks released on D1 Recordings and Elusive Recordings who loves the analogue sound of 90´s and the sound of Detroit.
"Bump together ep" is one super complete release halfway between House music and Techno, Detroit and Sheffield, and between dancefloors and futuristic chillout which owns all the aesthetic parameters that a Downbeat release should be.
Alan delivers a 4 track Ep with hidden, delicate and subtle melodies, minimalist structures and an excellent job with percussion and mixdown.
But if there is one word to describe this release it is "Deep". Layers of synthetic pads, creative basslines and hi-hats in motion provide deepness to this solid release.

We feel them activating different body parts for futuristic popping, whereas the relentless boogie rhythm that lays the foundation for this track gives us material to twist our legs in sync to the beat.

A3 RIO LEA
Joe closes this EP with “Rio Lea” - an elegantly swinging jam that smoothly and slowly builds up to a melodic meditation. Its many decorative elements seem all - necessary to make this work and are always falling rightly into place. You can imagine this a perfect fit for a long drink on a spacecraft, watching meteorites pass by, as we are sure it will also work in a bus on headphones late at night, watching the rain rolling down the windows...

A debut album by NAFF co-founder Priori. ‘On a Nimbus’ brings you to the heart of the network. It's frenetic and weightless, bleepy and essentially naff at its core.

As second release Daphian launch the first chapter of a larger series of various artists named "Shadow Plays".
The meaning behind it's to build a record that mix different shades of sounds with house flow as common denominator, which is at the moment the soul of the label. Moreover, the result is suitable for differents kinds of dancefloors.

In the A side there are two tracks with dark and hypnotic textures, whereas the B side mark out enchanting and warmth sounds.

Nice 1 Records launches with a sublime slice of deep house geared towards tender moments in the dance. We Are Syd's "Gently" in its original form is a smoky downtempo cut riding on a laid back broken beat, honey-coated keys and a powerful vocal turn from accomplished singer Shea Seger. The emphasis on this record is on the two stellar mixes from Baby Ford & Dazmos, leading on the A side with the hazy, old-school groove of the "Backroom Mix". Seger's husky delivery lingers in a mellifluous bed of pads and a classic, understated drum machine funk. On the flip, the "Frontroom Mix" bring the rhythm section to the forefront, letting the undulating bassline carry the track and splashing dubbed out flourishes in the mix for a spellbinding, club-ready end result.

Deenamic is the artist behind the 7th Freebeat release. This new producer had not released anything until now, but two things are certain here: he is a long term producer and he loves House music from the D.

On A side we have "First Inversion" the track that opens the release. It begins with a powerful kick and a heavy raw bass. The black keys and pads do the rest making it a groundbreaking track perfect for the dance floor.

The beginning of "Repair my soul" is reminiscent of early Sound Signature days, those chords and the way elements are emerging describes perfectly Deenamic´s style: aggressive and direct but smooth and fine at same time. The sampled voice and the percussion elements transport us to the golden age of Detroit House Music.

On the flip side you will find "Sweet Water", broken beats and real drum samples together with the jazzy chords make this track the most organic of the release. The melodies, bass and the male voice are floating in a perfect harmonious coexistence. Probably the finest work on the record if we talk about mix down terms.

Last track of the E.P is "Upside your head", those transposed chords, and the repetitive melody move us again to the Motor City. The brightest track of the release is the final touch of a special and solid release.

Already supported by the likes of Volcov, Specter & Patrick Gibin to name a few.

Thief That Stole My Bad Days. Forevenevermore is perhaps Kenny's most soulful full length and the sheer emotive
nature of these tracks and their relatively down-tempo beats make this album more of a reflective listening
experience on par with sentimental albums such as Marvin Gaye's Let's Get It On and Stevie Wonder's Talking
Book than traditional house music.

Following some now cult releases on Mutli Culti, Turbo Recordings (with the much-acclaimed 'MZ') and his recent LP 'Lotos Land' on Japanese imprint Endless Flight, our favourite East-Berlin born child Sascha Funke is finally coming up with an EP on Hippie Dance's sister label Your And Your Hippie Friends. 'I guess more than one of you have noticed my obsession with Sascha Funke's music over the past years since it is an essential part in my DJ sets. After the pause he gave his solo work to put his attention into his amazing band project Saschienne together with Julienne Dessagne (AKA Fantastic Twins, also his partner in life), he came back with a really cool EP on Kompakt Records which I played over and over and left me wanting for more. Being close friends gave me the luxury of having access to his material before other people and when I would visit the coolest couple in Berlin, Sascha would always play me his new tunes in the car while rolling through the city. Every time I would ask for those tracks to play them and in the club, people that I would play with would often ask who was behind them, as it happened with TIGA one night in Cologne, and eventually led to Sascha's music being released on Turbo Recordings and Multi Culti the following months. Now I finally got the chance and honour to release a Sascha Funke EP on our own humble label... ACATENANGO. Like every time, it all started with me visiting Berlin, Sascha playing his new material while cruising around on board of his German car, me getting in trance while listening to it, asking for it and playing it right away in my next sets. Three super cool tracks, all very different from each other but somehow connected with the inimitable Funke touch. Powerful yet elegant, hypnotic yet fun, brutal yet sophisticated. Sascha Funke... If New York’s Roxy nightclub emerged from the colourful blocks of Brazil, there's no doubt these tracks would be the carnival sound clash heard on hard rotation. Brooklyn percussionist Eugene Tambourine, aka The Lemko Unlimited Orchestra, has created new renditions of disco hits, giving them the rhythmic going over they didn’t know they needed. It’s the artist’s tale of NYC clubbing in the 1980’s, infused with a raucous, fiery Latin attitude. A package expertly mixed by Darshan Jesrani.

‘Pathways’ is a mashup, interpolating hooks from Fingers Inc’s ‘A Path’ in clever combinations with Ralph Macdonald’s much sampled ‘The Pat You’ll no doubt recognise ‘K.G.E.T.’ from the original ‘K-Jee’ funk bomb by The Nite-Liters in 1971, later covered famously by MFSB. Eugene updates the tune with disco-era style, flowing live and carrying the torch onwards from the bands back in the day.

Stripped back ‘Versions’ have been recorded of both tracks, giving you raw drums & acidic brawn. These are dj dubs focused on the dance floor, the real deal from The Lemko Unlimited Orchestra on Balearic.

So we find there’s no better name for our new Label !

With this release a new label emerges under the name Deep Down. Veebo delivers a smooth EP for the occasion. Expect stripped down microhouse with spooky laughs and repetitive vocals. On the A side you'll find Essentially, a delicious 45 cut with a classic UK bass melody. On the B side it starts of with One Two, a house driven, conductive tool. The EP ends of with Ethereal, the title track that will take you on a modular journey with buttery pads and stripped down ultra deep bass lines.
This label will continue to focus on the minimal groovin' side of the genres of house and techno. Expect more sounds from vivid Antwerp soon.
