In our extremely talented artist pool we have the luxury of being able to work with local Icelandic talent and for our 6th instalment in the LAGAFFE series we managed cook up a long awaited collaboration with a close friend and producer intr0beatz.
Intr0beatz has been known in the local music scene for quite some time and became one of the most iconic hip hop producers in Iceland with the group Forgotten Lores. After the scene evolved and took changes intr0beatz reinvented himself as a house music producer.
With Intr0beatz you never go wrong. A long time hip-hop producer went housey on us, and he got the groove. House and old school hip-hop have a lot in common—sampling and chopping old disco/soul tracks is the foundation of both. So this came naturally for him.
The four-tracker includes the tracks Dumpin (A1), Mystery Ride (A2), Tapas (B1) and Desco (B2).

Terrell Drayton returns on his Belle Isle imprint for his second release with a three track EP called 'Love Never Dies Love Always Comes Back.' Terrell continues with his Detroit inspired house grooves and delivers 3 outstanding future classics. Side A opens up with 'We Live In A Generation Of Not Being In Love' that builds into a crescendo of dream landscapes with a pounding percussion groove that's locked in with a rolling bassline. On the flip we're treated to two cuts with 'Detroit' opening up the proceedings with a warm pad sitting alongside a simple but effective bassline that keeps us locked in the groove, subtle but highly effective. 'Become Human' closes off the proceedings with an off kilter groove supplementing the chord progressions and solo key work.
Terrell Drayton delivers another sure winner with this three track EP. Essential!

Fine are very pleased to present Tales And Reactions, the
inaugural long player on the imprint by label co-owner Tilman.
Alongside his partner Johannes Albert, the guys have put
together an impressive string of releases so far on Fine,
focussing on their own material. But this sees them moving
into the extended format for the ¡rst time and with magni¡cent
results. Tilman has a long track record of putting out deep,
excellently produced house music, but on Tales And Reactions
he really comes into his own. The album is all about mood and
feel, and each track is set up with a rich mix of samples and
loose drum grooves to create warm and hazy vibes. The focus
is on deep and spacious house cuts, weaving lazy pianos and
half heard vocals. There are, however, plenty of dance¢oor
moments on the LP, with the chunky rhythms and disco strings
of Broken Dreams' or the ¡ltered funk of Chasing Rainbows'.
The result is an album that takes you on a journey through
different shades of house music, from a superb producer

Bawrut's Ciquita was the first 12' we released on Ransom Note Records. It sold out in a month, got hammered by as disparate range of DJs we could have hoped for (everyone from Jackmaster to Optimo to Boys Noize to Alfredo gave it a rinsing) and single-handedly deflected the rampaging forces of 2016 shittiness wherever it went. And whilst we're not saying outright that Bernie Sanders lost the Democratic nomination because he didn't use Ciquita as his campaign anthem, who can say what would have happened if the Bern had shuffled out to Bawrut's hooting Latin acid. WHO CAN SAY
Now, as we careen headlong into the pit of madness we're tentatively calling 2017, Italian man of mystery Bawrut is back! To save the universe once more!
To that end may we present The Rumba EP: Three tracks and no fat.
Opener Rumba is exotic space trance made to soundtrack lysergic orgies on hothouse planets (or, as Boiler Room put it 'a piping hot acidic screamer specially crafted for peak times'). Routa is a beefy banger dedicated to Ruta Del Bakalao (aka the greatest Spanish rave doc ever made), with all the gleefully belligerent stomp of Homework era Daft Punk. Tano is an alchemical concoction, transmuting handclaps, chirrups, chants, 303s, and deep state meditation into a starburst explosion of unfettered joy.

Denis Sulta has announced new offshoot to his Sulta Selects imprint, 'Silver Service'.The debut release comes from Cromby - an Irish born, Berlin based producer on the up. Following a thumping set at Belfast's beloved AVA Festival, his new EP will be released on 21st September and features three peak-time club weapons, inspired by the sounds of classic Chicago House. The lead Futurola is a hard-hitting, jacking house track that packs a fierce bassline and emotive punch, whilst B1, Barneymania is a Chicago-tinged acid roller that layers melodic chords, the EP ends with the dark and sci-fi-tinged electro of Fandango.
The new label follows on from Denis Sulta's Selects imprint - home to three volumes of his own essential 12' series

Prolific Manchester producer, Jozef K's forthcoming release, Dawn Of A New Era, showcases Afro Acid's introspective side, with a series of post-apocalyptic, shimmering acid landscapes - which are sequenced, notably, as a complete work.
After a slew of signings to some of the biggest labels in house and techno we are proud to present this ethereal record from Jozef.
The EP begins with 'I Felt A Presence', a both heartfelt & dystopian 303 cut containing an atmospheric vocal that alternates between undefined parameters.
'Between Two Worlds', Jozef's acidic ode to Twin Peaks/David Lynch, portrays an intricate interplay between dark and light, (which is an underlying theme of the show for non-TP fans).
There are also further meanings Mr. K wanted the listener to discover for themselves, a very Lynchian concept indeed.
Track 3 is the dreamy and pensive 'Agkistrodon Contortix'. Another shimmering sci-fi 303 cut.
The EP's title track would seem to be the EP's euphoric peak. A continuation of the isolated, sci-fi-esque 303 based introspection here.

Everybody who knows Connaisseur, will probably be aware of the fact that we simply love the concept of remixes. To fnd the right person for a specifc track in order to turn an already amazing original into a new direction, is always an exciting challenge. Of course, there is always some wishful thinking on our side about what it will turn out to be like. Usually, we are completely wrong, which however doesn't mean that we are not happy with the result. Usually, we love the result even more than our own brainchild. In April, we released Of Norway's sophomore album
"The Loneliest Man In Space", a diverse masterpiece.
Since then, we have been searching for remixers whom we personally really like and of whom we are sure they can turn the track into a direction we can't even imagine. It was a bit of a journey, but now after the product ist completed, we are more than happy that we were able to bring such a group of remixers
together on one product.
As every remixer has delivered such a great interpretation, we decided to give each of themenough space to be discovered, which is why we will be releasing one remix per week over the course of two months. A selection of these remixes can be found
on a 12" extract. One extra remix is exclusively for radio and streaming.
For the vinyl extract we picked the interpretations by Lauer, Panthera Krause, Legowelt, Davis & Zopelar and Roy Of The Ravers.

Originally founded by KiSk back in 2009 - Apparel Music set out to offer something truly singular in focusing their musical output predominately on Jazz whilst venturing into its integration across the landscape of Electronic Music at the time. With a zealous release schedule, they racked up a healthy collection of EPs between 2010 - 2015 from artists such as Delano Smith, SCSI-9, Sarp Yilmaz and the label owner himself amongst many others. Now - after a year-long hiatus, the label makes a return with a slick 4-track VA that fans both old and new will relish. Strictly limited to a pressing of 200 on 180 grams of wax, their re-launch brings with it a Jazz-suffused 4-track record featuring Voyeur, Ivano Tetelepta & EugeÌne Latumeten, KiSk and Kerem Akdag. Voyeur's 'Swinging For Theo' kicks things off with organic, brushed drums and a walking bass line set off to a tight, swaying rhythm. Glassy Rhodes keys bleed into the mix ahead of piano stabs and 909 hats that propel progress when combined with a thickened low-end. Ivano Tetelepta & EugeÌne Latumeten follow up with 'Je Suis Reconnaissant' - a bass-heavy groove that lays soulful vocal samples over filtered piano chords and loose-limbed hat patterns. KiSk's 'Just U' then drives a crackly drum loop through distant, flexing synth tones. Arresting vocal samples then take the foreground in a rich, smokey mix before Istanbul's Kerem Akdag's closes up the package. Akin to the styles of producers such as Henry Wu and Max Graef, Akdag's 'Friend' melds playful drum patterns with thick chord stabs and smooth vocal lines that wrap up a stellar return for Apparel Music. Gilles Peterson / Sweet! / 4/5 Laurent Garnier / Excellent tracks, will play for sure / 4/5 Jacques Renault / Wow really enjoyed this perfect build.

Bawrut has had an amazing couple of years. Since kicking our label off back in 2015 with the modern acid classic 'Ciquita' (12's of which will now set you back silly money on Discogs), the Madrid-based producer has gone from strength to strength. Last year saw him tear down sets at Sonar and Farr festivals, drop a feted new EP on Hard Fist Records, and have his music soundtrack numerous adverts for Fabric events.
Other DJs have been quick to show their appreciation, and Bawrut's unique appeal can be seen in how far and wide across the spectrum his music has featured. Optimo, Avalon Emerson, Patrick Topping, Jackmaster, Artwork, Andrew Weatherall and many more have all supported heavily. We're proud to kickstart Bawrut's 2018 with 4x4, a brand new EP of typically leftfield bangers. These four tracks come on like a whirlwind journey through a Bawrut DJ set, with something for every time of the night. 'Ghettoscar' fuses African chants with burbling acid, building the kind of goodtime dancefloor warmth Bawrut is famed for. 'More Cowbell' does exactly what you'd expect, giving DJs a glorious, cowbell-powered disco bomb that fuses the spirit of Incredible Bongo Band with classic NYC house. 'I Hear Voices' is a crazy ride, with an expertly cut up vocal sample repurposed into a weird, descending riff that's quite unlike anything else out there. Throw in Bawrut's trademark kitbag of carnival whistles, rattling Latin percussion and a creeping acid line that works itself up into a soul-salving joy and you've got a modern classic on your hands.
Finally, lead track 'Three Sounds' is probably Bawrut's biggest moment to date; a peak time jacking techno monster built from the most minimal of elements - drums, claps, a one note bass squelch and a tom drum gone wild. Bawrut takes this tom sound and treats it like a 303, pushing far off the rails, working it up and up, twisting it through pitch and frequency like a man possessed, raising its pressure 'til it tears off the roof. There's no one else making techno quite like it - and you can expect dancefloors to be going crazy to the mania of 'Three Sounds' throughout 2018...
So there you have it - four more missives from the wizard of Madrid. Play 'em loud.

Roy Vision his Roots For Bloom with 4 cuts of class. Opener, Steel True, is the big 90s stab laden house cut with success already proven in basements and festivals alike. The Way and Sideways Struttin follow up on a deeper more sunshine drenched vibe both holding there own and will make this record a keeper in the bag. The fourth and final track takes things on a different tangent with deeper drums and synth lines to open and blending through to a acid line that'll take your club from grooving to booting!

Planet E present the Michele Chiavarini and DJ Steve Crawford remixes of 'Just Like Muzik' and 'The Sabath' taken from Terrence Parker's 2017 album 'GOD Loves Detroit'. The three-track remix EP is due for release March 8th. Handpicked by Terrence Parker himself, both remixers offer fresh takes on two of the standout tracks of the original LP. For the first and last track of the EP Michele Chiavarini reworks 'Just Like Muzik', with a bass lick which dances in and out of shuffling hats, channelling the high energy of the original house patterns and stabs into something different. Soulful pad progressions merge with Merachka's original vocal, before energetic strings and vibraphone solo take over, carrying the listener along. DJ Steve Crawford's remix of 'The Sabath' sees him transpose the arpeggiated synth rhythm and pads of the original into a fresh grooving 4/4 affair. Congas and punching kicks meet with harmonious string melody and slapped bass, creating a head-nodding reimagining of the master.

'Sometimes you wake up and you've just lost the plot. Is life great or is it not Should I eat more fruit Is buying diamonds rude' Ca$hminus are asking all the wrong questions. After their debut on Bordello A Parigi last year and a recent appearance on Credit 00's Rat Life imprint, the Belgo-Australiana duo unleash a collection of their wildest works to date. The package opens with 'Atlandwehr', a jaunting affair that could have risen from the filthy Berlin Landwehr canal, only to dissolve again after six frenzied minutes, leaving nothing but a trace of bubbles on the skanky surface. The gritty 'La Foire', a grimy take on Belgian new beat, fuses raw, stepping drums with a playfully gnarly synth line. Luckily 'De Vlasmarkt' is lurking around the corner: this is the awkwardly joyous soundtrack to an annual phenomenon in Ghent, where young and old folks gather on the 'Vlasmarkt' square after a heavy night of boozing, to collectively gaze at at the sun coming up whilst drinking Irish coffees until they drop. G-funk meets electro on the flipside, where Cora from Chengdu showcases her vocal swag on '' to a backdrop of supreme subbass and rattling beats. Man of the moment Cornelius Doctor of HARD FIST fame (the adventurous imprint he runs with Tushen Rai) delivers a beast of a rework that both hypnotizes and elevates. The acapella leaves you in charge of your own destiny.

The future is officially now. DIRTYBIRD's penultimate release of 2018 sees the label going deep with a stripped-back, loungey tune by Tom Flynn and Amp Fiddler aptly titled, 'The Future.' Twinkling piano chords are a smooth complement to Amp Fiddler's vocals, with a warm bassline anchoring the rest of the track's nuanced elements. It's a refreshing sound not heard often on the DIRTYBIRD, and an indication on the diversity that lies ahead. Claude VonStroke also lent his talents to the mix, crafting a re-work that sees him stepping inside a more subdued frame with crisp percussion and grooving synth progressions for a more European open-air sound.
Tom Flynn is a newer addition on the global circuit, though not lacking in experience, having began his journey in DJing and production at the ripe age of 12. Pete Tong bestowed the title of 'Best Breakthrough Producer' upon him in 2013, and since then Flynn has lived up to the honor with a wide spectrum of releases that has landed him everywhere from Jamie Jones' Hot Creations, to Innervisions. 'The Future' marks his return to the label after well over half a decade, and a triumphant one at that.
Amp Fiddler hardly needs an introduction; the former Prince collaborator's been a major player in the funk and soul genres, as well as a pioneer of Detroit's electronic music since the early 1980s.
Prepare for The Future of DIRTYBIRD with these sultry records.

Paul Woolford returns to Hotflush with 'Mother & Child', his third solo outing on the label following the inescapable anthems, 'Untitled' and 'MDMA'.
'Mother & Child' sees Woolford explore a different style and more cultivated mood. Comprised of two variations on a theme, the lead cut combines both sostenuto and clipped strings in an overarching and evolving melody. There's a sense of menace and foreboding, yet the record's heart belongs, as ever, strongly to Woolford's home
turf - the dance floor. This newfound contemplative air is brought to the fore on 'Mother & Child Divided' as he strips back all rhythmic elements to leave a beautifully sprawling tapestry of strings and synths; alluring, dramatic and cinematic in scope. One hopes this mother and child find each other again...

Next up on fresh, percussion-loving Canadian label, Breathing Room Records, is the Aquarius EP. It comes from a relative newcomer in Bixi, the new alias for Basel, Switzerland-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Lokke aka Modern Trash Quartett. The output for Bixi will be home to more sample & house-oriented tracks while Lokke will continue to lean more towards the downtempo and jazzy end of the spectrum.
Best known for his smooth 7' releases on Amsterdam's INI Movement, Berlin's Beatbude and Cologne/Berlin's Laut & Luise, this time the German producer takes us on a warm and tropical excursion for his first 12' release. 'Aquarius' instantly brings us Southward with a groovy rhythm, bird calls and a fluttering flute that transport you beachside. Rounding out the A side is 'Bicho De Pé' a deeper number with a brooding melody, thundering bass and textured atmospheres.
On the flip, 'Cosmic Water' is the most dancefloor friendly excursion with swelling synths, a hard hitting low end and a combination of both expertly sampled and finely performed parts. Continuing the trip into the tropics is 'Ryu Santos' with its deep jungle-inspired leanings and percussive workout. Closing out the record is 'Bunga Bunga', a sensual cut to close your eyes and get lost in.
The Aquarius EP is a medley of deft live instrumentation such as Rhodes keys, bass and percussion all mixed in with an adept use of samples. Additional percussion performed by Florian König. Artwork for the release is once again expertly curated by 3D and visual artist Maks Pihs, perfectly matching the theme of the release.

After the big success of the previous three releases, Except Live returns with the fourth catalogue on his own label. Release number 4 is another four tracker killer by the Venice based eclectic artist.
First track is 'Vortex', where raw and distorted snares meet crispy hi-hats and shakers, creating a perpetual movement that reminds to a vortex indeed. Some dusty synths, pads and little variations into the groove make of this one a perfect opening tool.
'Like a Cloud' brings happy and positive vibrations as the title suggest using with warm pads and atmospheres. It's a great housy track with solid sub bass and a catchy groove with a missing clap on the beat that unavoidably makes you want to dance.
On the B side, 'Shadow' hits harder since the beginning with weird delayed percussions and filtered hats that create a great a space where deep pads and low-fi sinister synths can safely move all over the track.
Closing the EP is 'Running': a true minimalistic gem with a super tight groove made by hi-hat and snare only. The drums perfectly work together with the analog synth for a beauty masterpiece which shows once again the amazing skills of Except behind the desk.

'New Kind', one of the more direct moments of dancefloor pleasure throughout Gabe Gurnsey's acclaimed debut album, 'Physical', is expanded on for this digital package. The 'Extended Dub' stretches out the original's tight groove in a pleasingly baggy fashion that recalls the experimental club dubs pioneered by Trevor Horn, Martin Rushent and Shep Pettibone.
Back to the future, and enigmatic new producer Fall Forward delivers a smooth, rave tinted rework that is guaranteed to thrill the strobe-lit, sweat-drenched club crowd that inspired the original LP. An additional dub of the remix places the focus squarely on it's clean, irresistible acid bassline.

A1 is 'On You', Loyal Hardware's minimal, moody, breakbeat tune that caught the attention of EDiT
(GlitchMob); Perera Elsewhere (FoF) and Luckyme's Jacques Greene who played the single across NTS, The Lot Radio and in his BBC Radio 1 'After Party playlist' with Monki; describing that 'it touches on the DNA of club music' with 'all these moments of beauty... it's got this mix of sorta' heavy drums but it's more vibey than it is a hard hard track'.
'Dust' and 'Round Here' accompany on the B-Side of Loyal Hardware's debut EP, confirming that the
producer who has supported the likes of Lapalux, Rival Consoles, Aisha Devi, Jacques Greene and DJRUM, is one to watch.
'Loyal Hardware EP' is released 17th April via new imprint BRIEF, distributed by ABOVE BOARD. Available to pre-order now, digitally and on limited 12' vinyl.

With a knack for crafting up-front, jacking house music, Danish producer Niles Cooper proves he's right at home with the Super Tuff family. Just after his first release on his own Pale Springs imprint, his follow-up EP for Brooklyn's Super Tuff appropriately pays homage to its NYC influences. The title track "House Gospel" is a heartbreaking peak hour track full of old-skool NYC garage flavor. It is impressively followed by a remix from Berlin's Black Loopsia certified deep house belter. On the B-side, "Floor Juuc" is a rolling early morning chugger with a bassline reminiscent of "I Get Deep." Rounding out the record, Cooper shows his versatility with "If We Try We Can Start Anew" jumping into darker DnB territory with well-cut breaks and moody ambient chords reminiscent of Burial. Welcome home Niles!

Life is all about rhythms. We don't know what we're dancing to until we're in so deep we can no longer control ourselves. The rhythm controls us.
Right now both Guti and the Martinez Brothers are dancing to the conga rhythm. Guti's third album, they've been dancing to it since the summer, teasing us with a whole slew of percussive new... And they'll continue throughout 2019. Chance are you will, too. Eventually the rhythm will control all of us. It's too infectious not to.
Here's the 411: 'The Year Of The Conga' is Guti's third and most rooted album to date. It came about through a personal request from brothers Chris & Steve Martinez. Both unapologetic Guti fans they wanted the very first album on their Cuttin' Headz label to be his. The result is a total reconnection back to his Argentinian foundations, his club roots and everything that first lured him to the dancefloor...
'I'm back to my roots and found my Latino groove again,' says Guti who wrote the album throughout 2018, starting it whilst bulleting through Japan by train, the majority crafted in the jungle of Dominican Republic, having collected and sampled native percussion instruments, and then finally mixing down on his return to Europe. 'Every song is full of rhythm and created to make you dance...'
He's not messing around; from the writhing snakelike percussion and rousing calls and cries of opener 'Aee' right through to the final mesmerising waves and farewell struts of finale 'Voladora' this an album is born both for and from the dancefloor. No overthinking, no purism, no exclusion; just unabashed physical hypnosis, fuelled for the floor, guided with gut instinct and years of groovecraft. It's the sound of an artist who's disconnected, explored and reconnected. He's older, he's wider and more in tune with his own pace and palette. One of the most diverse and explorative artists to come from Loco Dice's Desolat stable, this is Guti simplifying his passions down to an essence of everything that's magic about his roots and our shared dancefloor culture.
The highlights are in abundance; those hazy-but-persistent New Jersey organs on 'Telling The Truth', that wobbly sub on 'Red Eye', that shimmering sinewy acid line on 'Se Baila', the spicy pianos and wet horns of 'La Orchestra Fantasma', the list goes on. Each cut designed for deep mix pleasure, each cut rolling with a strong organic flavour and alluring percussive dynamics, each cut showing Guti at his most inspired, warmest, playful and ready to wrap you up so deep in a conga you'll soon lose yourself.
Cuttin Headz, cuttin straight to the chase but never cutting it fine... Let us be the first to wish you happy new year with the first ever album on the currently unstoppable label. We'll wish you a happy new conga, too. 2019's going to be a vintage and Guti and the Martinez Brothers are leading the charge.

Prins Oblonsky (aka Tobias Fredø), is an Oslo-based composer and producer. He got his musical start studying the trombone and the guitar. Then he bought his first sampler at 18 and, inspired by artists like J Dilla and 9th Wonder, he began to make hip-hop beats and earned his chops by participating in beat battles on the Stones Throw forum. Over the years, Tobias developed a love and fascination for analogue sounds and synthesizers, obsessing over them in all his spare time. At 23, he started working with music and soundscapes for short-films, and his sound move in a more electronic, house music direction, inspired by artists like Floating Points, Four Tet, Rival Consoles, and fellow Norwegian Bjørn Torske.
The Dreams On Hold EP is Prins Oblonsky's debut on the Beatservice label, and it packs a warm punch. The title track launches the EP with an understated four-on-the-floor rhythm and a sparkling, distant arpeggiation. The feeling is indeed dream-like, energetic in tempo but soothing in tone. "Dancing On Graves" follows, presenting mesmerizing lo-fi beats while short pad bursts and echoed synth melodies play in the sonic field. Subtle techno elements characterize "Østerdalen", while the funkiest drum sequence on the EP drives the deepness into forward motion. The EP closes with the introspective "A Farewell To Arms", which ebbs and flows mistily around its warm sustained pad and beguiling synth motif. This is deep house for dreamers.
