When thinking Balearic, there is a name that should strike you right away. No, not Ibiza itself, but the man responsible for producing and curating some of the lushest sunset music the White Island has ever heard - Steve Miller, perhaps most commonly known as Afterlife.Making a name for himself in the early 2000's by playing monumental events such as Glastonbury, headlining Cafe Del Mar's 20th anniversary party and reaching the top of the UK charts by remixing Another Chance from Roger Sanchez, he's managed a consistency unlike many others in the decade and a half since. Releasing standout classic albums such as "Simplicity Two Thousand" and "Speck of Gold", his music has been released on the premiere labels of the time, such as Hed Kandi and Defected, while also being featured on numerous compilations to date. Not only is he a master of his craft, but he's also managed to attract some of the best in the business to work with him, namely K-Klass, Jose Padilla, Chris Coco and an almost inconceivable amount of others. Lately, Steve has shifted his output to his own record label, Subatomic UK, averaging an album release every two years over the past six years.
This time Steve looks to build a bridge to the dance floor, with a pair of remixes released on a 12" with one of the lead singles ahead of the album. 'Give It Up' gets the treatment from two of the underground's current finest. WOLF Music's Medlar changes up the percussion and gives it a more tropical flare, all the while using the main arpeggiated elements of the original, adding his own airy synth work and groovy bassline that's just bound to set dancefloors on fire. The second rework comes from Futureboogie's mainstay Christophe.
Choosing to work with atmospheric strings and vocals, this version utilizes plenty of the producer's own groovy ingredients. Managing to inject some funk into his take, the bassline and disco toms give it a fresh, playful vibe that pleasantly contrasts the original. The remix 12" is set to hit shops first as a teaser to the full product in mid -June, with the album following closely behind.

Reigning vibe-wave don of the City of Roses returns to the SILK chalet bearing four fresh afterhours anthems ripe for repeat rinsing. Midnight takes its name from Body San's special-ordered strain of Nag Champa, and exudes a similar air of nocturnal promise, streetlights reflected in glass brick fountains and condominium windows. Brandon Knocke's knack for Memphis design funk and skymall fusion hits an apex here, flexing a full spectrum of rhythmic reveries: fluid, jazzy, joyous, sensous. Song to song and side to side Midnight flaunts a panoramic rooftop view of leather interiors, fern-accented foyers, and supreme motion software. Midnight is 12 AM, 12 inches of bump 'n' bounce 'n' body euphoria, music for low lit silhouettes unified in emotional response. Somewhere a clock strikes, a ball drops, and day turns to dawn.

This year we have reached our long term goal as a label which was to expand our releases into the wax department. We feel like we've done a good job bringing upcoming and original local talent to the surface so far and it is only fitting that our first vinyl release is done by the Icelandic duo David & Hjalti.
The duo has been busy with the production since their arrival from Manchester and have played a number of great live sets underlining their skills as producers. We feel that this release is the high standard we set ourselves before going vinyl and that this is just a small first step in a fruitful beginning for the producers David & Hjalti.

You May Not Have Heard The Name Jackson Almond Before, But You Will Have Likely Heard Some Of His Music. This Ep Began Life As A Series Of Headphone Jams Written When Jackson Was Living Outside Of The City In Self-imposed Exile, Tuning Into The Goings On In Dance Music From An External Position. It Was Then Polished Into Dancefloor Gems At The Wotnot Studio At The Total Refreshment Centre. The Music Reflects This, With The Sonic Palette Reflecting Lo-fi And Outsider House, But With A Warmth, Depth And Musicality Specific To His Own Personal Situation.

The Music Embodies The Hook Of The Title Track - Open Your Head - A Mix Of Influences And Sounds From World, Soul, Jazz, House And Techno Sources. In Oyh, A Child's Voice Floats Over Percussive Drum And Mbira Layers With African Flavours, While Soulful Guitar Stabs Widen The Palette. Ee Ye Follows A Similar Idea With Overseas Sounds Opening To Infectious House Organ Stabs. People, Places, Things In Spaces Is An Immersive Roller With Warming Wurlitzer Chords Providing An Almost Gospel-like Inflection.

The Attention To Detail Throughout The Ep Is Astonishing, The Best Example Being The Arrangement Of Our Personal Favourite Common, With The Irresistible Chord Progression Working Its Way Around Instruments, Patiently Building To Hit Its Peak Halfway Through The Track For The Ultimate Screwface Moment.

Ultimately This Rebirth Of Jackson Almond Sits Nicely With A Label Finding Their Stride Again, With Widely-praised Releases From Danvers And K15 Already This Year, Wotnot Are Staking Their Claim On People's Ears Once Again.

Mid November will see Retrograde co-founder Marlon Hoffstadt pair up with Paris Brightledge for 'Shattered'. Following a run of releases for his Retrograde label and a track featured on the 100 Dirt Crew Compilation Berlin based DJ and producer Marlon Hoffstadt continues his upwards trajectory, once again enlisting the services of legendary Chicago vocalist Paris Brightledge who recently collaborated with Paranoid London on their 'Paris Dub 1 & 2' records. Stepping up first is the original mix of 'Shattered' with Hoffstadt and Brightledge delivered a raw, experimental house feel via broken drums breaks, sweeping synth chords and acidic bass chops, whilst Paris' vocal stylings add a soulful edge to the record. An 'Instrumental' mix of 'Shattered' follows and as the name would suggest lays focus on the rhythmic and melodic aspects of the composition, shining light on the swinging breaks, emotive string melodies. Lastly to complete the package is 'Elevate' which sees Hoffstadt fuse weighty drums and ethereal pad swells with arpeggio synth leads and subtly unfolding intricacies, whilst Brightledge's understated vocal contributions further fuel the records hypnotic feel.

After his soul tinged #1 single "Tonight", Migs returns back to basics with "Dance and Clap", a fun, deep and dubby track based jam with an underground edge, containing plenty of knob tweaked pads, subtle synth melodies, thundering bass grooves, and rhythmic vocal arrangements.
One for the dance floor in mind and reminiscent of his earlier 'track' based works, Migs knocks out these little gems for Salted.

For the first release of 2019, the ever-consistent Play It Say It turns to an established producer who is launching an anonymous new alias. The music speaks of someone with a love of raw, analogue sounding house and techno with machine made soul.

First out of the blocks is the brilliant and adventuring 'Don't Believe The Hype'. Built around expertly programmed drums that remain restless throughout, it has dynamic synths and acid twitches, moments of serenity and chord-based optimism all stitched in along the way. It's the sort of expansive, cinematic track that envelops the whole club and oozes class and production know how.

On the flip, 'One Night Forever' is a totally different but equally unique proposition: it has fizzing synth lines bringing a dystopian feel to dark bass and razor sharp hi hats. Broken drums amp up the energy levels, and the warped synths pump the party. This is a busy, urgent cut of fantastically realised future music that brings plenty of freshness to the dance floor.

Whoever this artist is, they have a genuinely unique perspective and more than enough skills to realise their bold and brave new ideas.

Manoo Strikes Again!

2018 was an amazing year for the French-born DJ and producer as he dominated the house scene with the crescendo highlight being voted No 1 Afro House Producer on Traxsource.

Very few producers manage to escape the constraints of genre barriers in their work, but Manoo somehow does this with ease. Be it Soulful, Afro, House, Ambient or Techno his musical DNA continues to push the boundaries and interweaves all the right elements.

Speaking of DNA his latest production sees him return to Tribe records for vinyl and digital releases to deliver the Kromosome X EP.

Kromosome the title track with its thunderous atmosphere manifests a storm in its journey. DJ's take note, this is the track that takes your dancefloor to the next level. The bass pulsates with a dark tone throughout whilst the synths swirl and flies into realms activating your DNA to dance and causing your Kromosome gene to express itself through its nucleus and molecular machinery.

Just when you thought you had peaked Manoo has no mercy. Enter his signature Mystical Gong on Elektronikart to warn you he has more to offer. With his ability to tell a story through sound Manoo effortlessly directs this composition in a way that each musical component is having a conversation.

Analog Room Director and co-founder Mehdi Ansari expands his dedication to the electronic music scene of the Middle East. After six years of weekly events, presenting quality and cutting edge electronic music from around the globe, the educating continues with the launch of Moozike Analog Room. Moozike ('Music of' in Farsi) Analog Room launch is to showcase the sounds and artists that Analog Room is all about.
The first release is an EP by Analog Room's co-founder and resident artist Salar Ansari who has been producing for over a decade. Salar's sound is influenced by a very unique mix of
residencies from Tehran and Dubai to Detroit, Michigan. It took all these years for Salar to reach a place where he is happy to share his work with the world.
In this release he speaks jazz in house music by a very romantic conversation of percussions, horns, keys and bass. The release contains of 2 special remixes by Patrice Scott and Donald
Lee Roland II where both explain their angle of these heavenly compositions.

'A Violent Disturbance In A Crowd' EP, Stephan Barnem delivers a rabble rousing three tracker EP of blistering techno. Being heavily championed by Maceo Plex, this is another great release for his great Ellum imprint.

Originally born in Brazil, but raised between Berlin and Venice, Stephan Barnem. His latest 3 tracker on Ellum is a powerful beast, featuring the lead track 'Violent Disturbance', a hypnotic techno infused groover of epic proportions. On the flip and Kina, featuring Junyi on vocals get's tougher as we are spirited away in haze of hedonism. Finally 'H' is a dark destroy prodding the analogue underbelly of the EP into submission!

From the vaults of seminal Canadian house label Big Shot we're proud to present a fully legitimate and remastered selection of classics and obscurities from the labels enviable catalogue and the masterful crew of Nick Fiorucci, Komix & co. Leaning on the late 80's and early 90's output of the label and featuring cuts from some of the first releases. Amy Jackson, whose sultry 1989 jam 'Let Me Loose' is a class example of the deepest vocal House done right kicks off proceedings, followed by Jillian Mendez's classic 'Don't Know What You're Missing', another '89 vocal burner punctuated by classic piano's and synth lines. These tracks are the real deal! On the b-side we are treated to In-Dex's classic 'Give Me A Sign', a perfect blend of Freestyle attitude and early House atmosphere that hits the spot just right. Finishing this essential collection of tracks is Dionne's tough and classy 'Come Get My Lovin', another classic Komix production that rolls nice with stepping drum machines and smooth organ riffs. All in all - this EP is an old school House heads dream right here, essential cuts from end to end.

Abstract Theory is back with a new 12" release, from the great house producer Tevo Howard. Early support by Ame. PASSION, is an audio depiction of the emotion, 'PASSION', as considered from the mind of Tevo Howard who has said, 'if PASSION were a Chicago House track'. His take is also a prediction of human beings in the next 300-500 years: after the world learns to not do irrational WAR and not kill, Howard says: an era of some 300 years of compassion will begin, and will be followed by at least one thousand years of atonement in the existence of the passionate human being as an era of mankind. LATE WORKING MAN as a B-side track is about being at the office late, and dancing very late at the disco.

In the wake of a spread of releases Urulu arrives, the latest convert to the Kalahari Oyster Cult. 'Transworld' is the American artist's first gift to the diety. The track physically jitters into life as broken beats and classic samples give rise to an elusive melody of spaced out synthlines and expansive arcs. Shapes are a central theme of the EP, like the exotic curves, playful percussion and full bodied bass of 'Precinct 9.' Urulu toys with assumed structures, nowhere is this more evident than in the bizarre and brilliant medley of bleeps, honks, squeaks and bold beats that make up 'Groove Therapy.' Trippy samples introduce 'Precinct 9 (Extremix),' a final psychedelic trip of Technicolor trance to bring the listener back from a journey known as Ex-Terrestrial.

Following previous releases on Banoffee Pies and Drumma Records, Italian producer Francesco Rinaldi PKA KOKO, debut's on Enzo Siragusa's INFUSE imprint with a effortlessly sublime and infectious four track EP.

Lead track 'Rimmel' is string-laden deep disco-tinged slice of sonic beauty.
Next up is 'Own Town' which ups the ante and takes us into digital stratosphere. On the flip and 'Versailles' gets deep and tweaky as the Detroit feel infuses the groove. Finally 'House Weekend' breaks out the muted horns and staccato rhythms as we bump all night! Another brilliant EP on this stalwart of an imprint.

A low-key artist whose output is definitely quality over quantity.

This 4 tracker takes influence from classic garage grooves, soulful, deep and funky house all delivered with an impeccably raw vibe.

Old school charm with a modern twist.

Erol Alkan invites two of electronic music's most exciting producers to expand on both sides of his first solo single in five years, 'Spectrum' and 'Silver Echoes'. Techno-mastermind Matrixxman adds serious pressure to 'Spectrum' on his remix, upping the tempo and utilising the original's halcyon synth line to create a high-energy version with moments of pure sensation. One of the most original and promising underground producers of the last few years, Machine Woman delivers two contrasting reimaginings. Going deep and psychedelic on the 'Minimal Machine Woman Remix' of 'Silver Echoes', and then on the 'True Machine Woman Remix' reversing the tempo entirely, reinventing the melancholy cut as a erratic freakout.

Based in Colombia's capital Bogota, Felipe Gordon is an artist on a very rapid ascent. He is one of the champions of the Colombian house movement effortlessly fusing complex sound combinations from Jazz samples to flowing pianos and acid bass lines into hugely exciting house records. It's a sound which comes together perfectly to create tracks which have been moving dance-floors worldwide over the last couple of years. Felipe has already released a string of hugely well regarded tracks and worked on remixes for some of the coolest labels out there including Toy Tonics, Quintesentials, S3A and his own Nómada Records. We are happy he contributed 4 amazing tracks for Shir Khan's Vinyl Black Jukebox Series.

A doctor by day and a musician by night, Leon x Leon has been producing songs in his
Parisian home studio since 2013, where house, italo-disco and boogie are mixing. When he
was younger, he was immersed in music by taking jazz drum lessons at the conservatory,
and especially by seeing his father, a sound engineer, who had been building his own
synthesizers since the 1970s. As a tribute, he used one of these unique synthesizers on a
title of the disc.
After a remarkable remix of Cerrone's "Funk Makossa" and several tracks on various from
'Red Laser Disco', he released his project My Solar Brass on the same English label in
2017. Organizer of many Parisian parties, he also participated in the founding of the
publishing label 'Good Plus". With the release of Rokanbo on Cracki Records, Leon x
Leon signs a mature EP with the influence of different styles.
The first eponymous title is a manifesto mixing Acid, House and Zouk. As soon as we
launch the track, the pop & acid 80's sounds takes us to another world... A UFO from the
Islands! The other parts of the EP don't leave us in the lurch! 'Formant Sweep' delivers a
soft and groovy bass that responds to an endless, spatial synthetic takeoff. On 'Red
Footpath', the harder kick cleverly blends with an atmospheric blanket and a bright, lively
flute solo straight from an abandoned piece of bamboo on a deserted beach. After that,
'Jungle Juice' lets a crazy keyboard solo resonate in the middle of tropical fauna and flora,
and finally on 'Horizon', the EP ends in beauty with an airy atmosphere. This last piece
sounds like a beautiful sunset at the end of a long summer day.
Through all these tracks, Rokanbo EP offers us a clever contrast between synthetic notes
and the warmth of tropical groove, and places our gaze towards the horizon, seeking the
groove to disturb its line on the infinite sea.

This second various delivers 4 tracks by Nikizi, Naom, Devv and Cosmic Clap. Each artist offering a different definition to the word deepness.

Although having been active for some years, this is the first release by Azul Loose Ties. It's a personal introduction: three tracks recorded in one-takes, giving an insight into his work. The blend of soulful, rhythmic house music all programmed on old drummachines and synthesizers aims to capture the vibe from the studio sessions. Being also a dancer, Azul Loose Ties seeks the balance between movement and rest, switching between looseness and control.

Whether he is Sample Jesus, MPC-Man or just Cuthead from the block, the Dresden based artist is here to help you discovering your body's potentials. With his latest EP "Can't You See" for Uncanny Valley he proves himself once again as a master in producing music that is both punchy and playful. You might not know how it feels to be on the moon but it's safe to say that "Lunar Lander" is an astral experience and a programmatic intro for the EP with heavy bass work and Trap Hi-Hats from space. "Can't You See" and "Sweet" is Cuthead to the core. Warm samples are combined with hard-hitting drum work and bass lines to remember. The results are House inspired dance floor stompers which you won't be able to resist. While "Kimono" and "Too Dark To See Tomorrow" shows off his Hip-Hop roots in typical head-nodding fashion, "Tranquility Base" is another kind of thing. Still based deeply in Hip-Hop, the track establishes a much gloomier feel with its meandering synths. Those of you that long for life-affirming House music will be very pleased with "Mount Platti". And on "Schlagzeug faellt die Treppe runter" various sharp synths und percussions are having a party that is as infectious as it's frisky.

The album is a dedication to Zurich's legendary Dance Club - The Club" which will be the name of the LP.
This project refers to a very specific personal aspect of George's life as teenager, the years when he spent almost every Weekend in The Club located in Zurich North where he also grew up.
Dance Music was always around his head and - The Club" became his holy church and main influence for his later producer & DJ career.
