House Vinyl New Releases - News

BRS were a UK house outfit who released between 2000-2008 on their own imprint Friends & Families & on many other labels including 2020 Vision, Cyclo & Imperial Dub - the group comprised of Rob Evans, Ben Vacara & Mr Mulatto (the 2x latter now members of the Situation collective).

"Lovin' Me" was first released on a BRS EP on Imperial Dub recordings back in 2000. In its original format the 12" included The original mix, Dubtribe Sound System remix and a bonus track Bouncing.

SITUATIONISM are delighted to re-release the incredible full length Dubtribe Soundsystem remix again on limited vinyl. This remix became a classic, appearing on numerous compilations including Groove Armada's 'Another Late Night' and Ministry of Sound's Chillout sessions 2004 to name but a few.

Included on this limited vinyl run will be 2x new remixes from Italian deep house, motorbike duo Harley & Muscle & the also the lovely BitterSuite, both delivering quality mixes.

Two great friends, and exciting young talents, reunite for their second outing on Real Tone. The transatlantic partnership between Leeds-born Burnski and New York's M A N I K has already produced one special creation dancefloor smash You Know What It's Like. Full of funk and relentless energy, the track was a great fusion of the contemporary styles of two well-respected producers. It also became one of Real Tone's most charted releases in 2012 and held up a prime position in the Beatport Top 10. Now they've teamed up once again to produce the follow-up, Next To Me. Playing out like an action-packed sequel, Next To Me once again oozes funk from every pore, working off a steady bassline, solid 4x4 beats and vibrant synth work. Though the overall feeling is a little more laid back than You Know What It's Like, just like its predecesssor, it features vocals provided by M A N I K himself who often utilises his voice in his music - from simply humming basslines to straight-up singing. Rising French star Manoo (who has releases on Basenotic, Deeply Rooted House and Buzzin' Fly) steps in on remix duties and flips the track completely on its head. The man whose motto is, 'Dance or die!' transforms the funk-infused dancefloor number into an ethereal deep house track, minus the vocal. Smooth chords and a retro organ bassline keep it sultry, with Manoo's version basically a completelynew track - together with the original it makes for an essential addition to any discerning DJ's collection. It goes without saying that, individually and as a combined team, Burnski and M A N I K are a force to be reckoned with, as they've proven with both infallible Real Tone EPs. No doubt they'll be back at the top of the charts with this hot new number.

The 19th release of JEUDI showcases Deo & Z-man, one of the highly respected duos of the German underground club scene. It was a special heart wish for us to have them on board of the JEUDI ship as we are in love for their very own and unique sound since a long time.

Deo & Z-Man are bloodbrothers from Hamburg with Italian roots. They grew up influenced by different styles from Hip-Hop over Psyrock to Italopop. Now they blend everything in an inconceivable and multifaceted way. Known for impressing
live sets, enthusiastic dj gigs and innovative production skills, they never dedicated themselves to a single genre but preserved their extraversion to any kind of quality music. That let their spread expand and makes them sound unique and fresh within
the house universe.

Deo & Z-man's Thug Lake EP doesn't need much to impress here. Minimalistic groove work with ease, excitement and happiness. No darkness involved.
A constant backflash of pictures. Past party memories, your last trip to Paris, getting drunk, dancing in the streets. Every tune tells another story with a modern twist and the spirit of the old school of the 90s wave. Permanent Vacation's Bostro Pesopeo delivers the dark techish moment here with his absolutely impressive
interpretation of the tune Chanel Affairs. People went nuts during our testdrives.

Niclas Kannengiesser for two fresh originals and then have legendary electronic producers Swayzak and deeper than deep Greek talent XDB turn out some brilliant remixes.

Kannengiesser is a German DJ and producer who conjures up wide open and atmospheric spaces in the worlds of dub, techno and house and he has a true melodic streak that really makes his music stand out. To date he has already impressed on Sub:Circles but this new EP is another big step up.

The excellent 'Modulation' goes first and is a deep, trippy, spiritual bit of supple and soft rolling techno. Rippling chords and angelic keys all linger above a rubbery groove and thus ensure only the real heads will appreciate this one. Remixing is XDB, who has released on top labels like Dolly, Echochord and Sistrum and has a perfectly deep and dubby style. He uses it to great effect here and cooks up a fast paced and engaging dub track with icy hi hats and mysterious pads way off in the distance that suspend you in the groove.

Next up is the slightly busier, more propulsive 'Acquaintance', with soft hits, rich rolling drums and more late night chords that are rich and emotive. Its a truly classy track that is deep yet detailed and full of feeling. Swayzak then remix it twice and are a UK tech house pair who have had a long and storied carer. As well as mixing it up for the fabric series they run their own label and release on labels like K7, Minus and Rawax. Their first remix layers in more texture and pixel thin synths as well as slightly more forceful drums and the result is a real back room winner. The second live edit is bigger, slightly more brash and full of a darker, more prickly energy.

This is a great release with some fine originals and truly standout remixes from some of the best names in the game.

PLEXITY
...the simplistic complexity of subliminal melodic aggression.
Drivetrain (Detroit, USA) - 'Lozen'
A paradoxal tribal eruption crafted by label chief, Derrick Thompson.
Filtered patternization built on barbaric harmonic algorithms.
Teknobrat (Ottawa City, CANADA) - 'Relapse'
A vicious debut headlining a twisted, distorted analog synth abducted by
a rancid 909 beat machine.
DJ Mourad (Tunis, TUNISIA) - 'All Fixed Up'
We welcome another revered DJ/Producer, this one takes
an expedition through incalculable rainbows of acid-tech and the unexplained.
Hughes Giboulay (Beaucaire, FRANCE) - 'Genése'
Another first installment to Soiree...highlighting an emotionally driven
chord progression with encapsulating rhythm incisions, biting at the bass foundation.

Subsidiary label of a same-titled record shop based in Moscow.
Created to reflect owners' vision of quality dance music.

First drop is a perfectly balanced 4-tracker by Artyom Malev aka Xio.
Artyom is well-known for his contribution to dance music as a DJ and producer. He is also label and shop co-owner.
Starting with a inflaming Burning In My Soul to bring everybody to the dance floor,
and Lush to keep atmosphere warm enough.
Continuing with a more shaky and playful Sunflower Funk to prepare the crowd for obviously titled 3 AM, which speaks for itself.

Here comes our next coup. Irrelevant returns to FAUXPAS MUSIK with the permission of - Absolute Loss', We will release Vague Memories II as a Vinyl Edition. Two outstanding long players explore the deep, melancholy electronic soundscapes that he loves. Vinyl tastes better...

Taken for the widely played and adored Lenny Williams Spark of Love Album, which was released during the Disco Era of 1976 and featured disco hits like, 'You got me Running', I still Reach and 'Midnight Girl' comes 'Changes.'

Edits and Overdubs Produced and Performed by Joaquin Joe Clausell; Changes is the tune that was mostly ignored from the extensive Lenny Williams music catalogue.
Similar to his past works where he chooses songs that are mostly un popular to the outside world but classics amongst himself and his siblings at home, Joaquin Joe Claussell takes this Jam that he used to groove to at home as a young teenager, lifts it out from obscurity and turns it into something that will sure be played by most DJ's who are into the Lenny Williams Sound, soulful disco and beyond.

Listed at a time length of (5:03) Joe cleverly up lifts this soulful disco composition and extends it to a time of (9:01). He achieves this, as usual, with respecting the original composition and with never anyself-masturbation. In the end, the results are a New Disco Classic that drives with relentless energy and enough soul for anyone who's seeking more soul that hailed mostly from the urban side of American disco music.
So, listen, dance and spin.

Lenny Williams - Changes Edits & Overdubs by Joaquin Joe Claussell will be the first single to come out from the forth coming Joaquin Joe Claussell Presents Edits & Overdubs PT 2 2XCD and Special Limited 7Inch.

What Recordings present their new release the M-EP (What03)
with the original tracks - Muzic' and - Mentiv'.After the What members and label owners Tobi Neumann and Patrick Ense released their first two EPs in 2017 they had earlier this year already a highly respected release - What you doing'" in collaboration with Dorian Paic and legendary singer Eric D'Clark on Arno Einzelkind's imprint La Peña. They went back to their studio and came out with this two little gems. The track - Muzic" was already played by Ricardo Villalobos on several festivals during this summer.

The Lehult Crew goes back to beach with this V.A. full of blistering sundowners. Inspired by utopian visions of northern holiday destination Sylt - Germany's 'White Isle' - the four tracks ooze a sense of lighthearted optimism. 'Rave (Sylt TV)' is a photo-op of a track: A chilled bottle of rose at Buhne 16 or a long night at Rotes Kliff with girls in sequin dresses. 'Refreshing Fruit, Tasty Fruit' paints a lighter picture of the same theme. Think a tasting tour of 15 different kinds of sparkling water. DJ Assam's 'Sandy' warms things up with distant laughter and swirly synths. But stay cozy, because a change of weather is always around the corner. 'Blueberry Icetea' is closing things out with a hom-age to the jolly car-train that connects Sylt to the mainland - the only reasonable way to come and go!

Another root ready to bloom has been found in Yann Polewka. His opener is a filter laden, vocal drenched affair that holds the ever present RFB groove. All I Dooo is next and holds that similar french filter style this one focusing on heavy strings and driving drums. The B Side sees up ramp up a gear, Luv Me Baby is looping and relentless. The piano and bass loop is short and repetitive but is constantly changing with filters vocals and interweaving percussion, this one works great on the dance floors. With B2 we see RFB take an unusual path for the label. All around is reminiscent of drum and bass almost liquid vibe with seductive vocals and ramped up tempo.

ESHU Records hits release number ten with a new EP from the in-house production collective made up of Jocelyn Abell, Ivano Tetelepta and Daniel Lekatompessy. Fraktur features six tracks of stripped back house and techno that are all atmospheric and heady. Opener Winter Track is a smooth and rolling dub techno number that is grainy and economical yet hugely absorbing thanks to its circling synth details and woody drums. Creating Moods is even more expansive and spacious, with gently swirling pads enveloping a soft, broken rubber kick drum. The title track is another expertly distilled, dry and heady groove with its frayed edges and warm analogue feel, then 'Hello' really flips the script with over driven Jeff Mills kicks and intergalactic synths bring a spooky sci-fi feel to proceedings. Yorubaland is then a cosmic ambient interlude with fax tones bleeping and blipping as lazy pads smear out in the background and last of all Core comes on strong with more quick and slick intergalactic techno carrying you off to some distant planet. This is another faultless EP from this fine Dutch collective. Pressed on 180 grams vinyl.

Sun rises in the East & sets in the West!

Facundo has been at every party this summer without actually leaving his home of Buenos Aires.
His music sound tracking blissful moments with eyes closed. Broad smiles. Hands up.
Hips wiggling.
For his first single release on the label there's a beautiful range of energies and feeling.
Each track a gentle giant. On laptop speakers you might not feel the tension or impact these tracks have, time and time again, delivered. Hypnotic. Dreamy.
Perfect examples of our sound.

Facundo Mohrr's star, no, cloud, is on the rise.

French percussive dub house feat. a tripped out Jean-Marc Foussat remix (Département D'Education Psychique) re-inventing the usual deep house elements.

Primitively made sample based electronic music w/ drum machine, tracked live. Music which has no right to exist sampled, then resampled. Second release and first widely distributed material by a project which fermented in the basement cave for a few years before going public. Music about loss and the developmental/gentrification hell which has blanketed once homely neighborhoods. Tricks of the eye, tricks of the mind, what was never to be again.

Boost, Max D's third LP, is coming in February on Future Times. Seven songs acting on instinct. Check!
Mixed in Amsterdam with Jordan GCZ. Features additional instrumentation from Benedek, Jack J, Jordan GCZ, and Motion Graphics.

The first in the brand new white label series from newly formed collaborative effort 'Track and Field', a group of likeminded producers and DJ's from London.

The eleventh release on ROMB is a wild yet beautiful mini compilation, combining Detroit and Chicago vibes with UK breakbeats and a dash of melancholic electronica: a generous EP with DJ friendly tracks that will also work perfectly at home. The A-side starts off with a Detroit flavored acid house groover by new artist Almost Automatic, followed by Solarity, a stormy, break-ridden dance stepper with an epic feel. On the flipside Sean Dixon, well-known from releases on Clone and Rawax as well as his own Final Chapter imprint, delivers a clean-cut Italo infused Chicago house gem. The EP ends with a beautiful, melodic down-tempo synth journey by Daniel Savio. All in all a diverse and playful EP with old-school vibes, yet with fresh twists and turns. Limited to 200 copies only, this is a gem not to be missed.

Local Talk is proud to present the first of two 10" releases featuring music by Kyoto Jazz Sextet.Rising is taken from their second album 'Unity' released on Blue Note in 2017 and besides the beautiful original we've included a stunning remix by Ron Trent that catches you immediately.

Oh So Coy presents its 3rd & 4th vinyl outings respectively courtesy of German resident Marc Heun.
Quality production encapsulates all eight tracks that move effortlessly from deep to discofied house.
Disc 1 takes a slightly experimental edge with some great sampling work and raw beats.
Disc 2 has a more summery feel with breezy disco house edits and filtered vocal twists.

While we are constantly flooded by disco edit nostalgica (nevertheless we already have some edits in the pipeline too - muhaha :), eurokrise news and nuclear gameplay from Donald and Kim, this twotracker by scharbatke gives you the real deal. Beautiful sundrenched original house music for your feet and soul. If this is not soo glad then cut us an arm. PS. Main Instrument used for this release : Yamaha PSR-36 for - LoFi-Deep House-Amalgam' Vital Sales Points: -Scharbatke is one half of turquoise colored french tourists and producer of the underground hit - love is only moments away'

Diego Krause is next on Blind Box Series with three originals and the usual Blind Box mix from the label heads.

Originally Produced by Timmy Regisford, Donny Hathaway's I love You more than you'll ever know. Timmy produces another Shelter classic. Here he creates a back drop of electronic house music that seemly fits with Donny Hathaway's emotional vocals. The flip side houses an Edits and Overdubs version produced by Joaquin Joe Claussell.

Joaquin's version is an instrumental that can be labeled as soulful electronic dance music and features Joaquin's signature outwordly keyboard solo- overlaid over his re-aranegment of Timmy's original version.
The end results are a powerfully produced twelve-inch record that can be played and enjoyed by Deep House and Electronic DJ's alike.

Enjoy the Journey

An artist as versatile as Alex Krüger is a rare find these days, not only did he release numerous EP's and albums as Tigerskin or Korsakow since the mid 90s, he's also been on the forefront of the 'Dub Techno' movement since 1999 with outings on classic labels such as 'Raum...Musik", 'Force Tracks' and '3B/ United States of Mars". Now ten years after his last album on 'Opossum Recordings' Alex is back with this well crafted genre bending full length 'Caves & Cages". From deep techno cuts through rippling ambient excursions to funky reggae infused live jams with Haushausen this work is yet another milestone in the creative bubble Alex lives in (i.e. his studio). A predominantly analogue producer, Alex recorded most sounds for 'Caves & Cages' on his modular synths and vintage gear at Organic Domain during 2017 and early 2018. Throughout the album tension ebbs and flows effortlessly via syncopated subs, analogue improvisation, subtle chord stabs and sustained swells interspersed with textured field and home recordings. The ambient opener 'Intra' sets the tone for the album. Rich with alien atmospheres, distant soundscapes, out of reach voices and licks of live instruments dug up from numerous recordings dating back as far as 30 years, even before Alex started his electronic journey. The sojourn ventures deeper from there. Subaquatic dub techno is the mood on 'King's Cave", 'Helix' and 'In Air' only surfacing ever so slightly for moments of clarity where shimmering tops and glistening synth lines shed some light on the steady grooves. The tracks 'Future History' and 'Transition State CIV' border on deep house territory.

This summer, Skint Records serve up a brilliant package of remixes of Midfield General's huge 1999 smash 'Reach Out' with Linda Lewis. The new remixes come from the one and only Crooked Man and feature vocals re-recorded by Linda in 2000 which were consigned to a draw waiting for the right person to use them. Crooked Man is that person, aka Richard Barratt, a uniquely inventive house and disco producer whose self-titled 2016 album on DFA was one of the most revered of the year. He has a knack for off-kilter greatness and has also released on Optimo Trax. Interestingly, he and Midfield General both worked together on Zebra Face, a cartoon about a hip hop obsessed Zebra and his diabetic side kick for Channel 4. The show featured voices from Kid Acne, Jarvis Cocker, Roots Manuva and Lady Chann amongst others. It also turned out that Midfield General was a huge fan of the Crooked Man album before realising who was behind it, so got in touch ask for some remixes.
The results are 2 typically unusual new dance floor bombs.
The classy Remix #2 is down and dirty, with warped bass twisting and turning underneath metallic drum hits. The vocals are more aloof here and lend the whole track a feeling of effortless cool as synths gently undulate and carry you late into the night. Another standout effort, Remix #3 is somewhere in-between. It's an airy track with driving house drums and hits, and elegiac synths that bring real dynamism and musicality to the track. It's clean and soulful in design and one to bring the whole floor together as one.
These tasteful remixes have emotion and groove to spare.

Rhode & Brown are back on their motherlabel Toy Tonics! After last year's breakbeat - tune 'St Hippolyte' and getting remixed by their buddies Hodini and Glenn Astro, their new EP takes their sound further again. From DIY-disco to dreamy house, whatever you like to call it.. the tracks have this joyful touch, that makes their sound so special. This time their production way was a little bit different: While spending holidays on the marvellous island of Zanzibar they produced the raw versions of this EP. They set up their studio at a beach cabanne. With a monkey becoming their muse. They monkey came over every day to listen to their sounds. They became friends and called the monkey Rosie and fed her with mangos. When back in Europe the Munich boys still were in a 'balearic mood". So they went to a house deep in the south of France to finish the music. The result were 4 tracks. Three for this EP. And one track that they gave to the other Munich based label Public Possession for their recent SERIE A compilation. Which makes totally sense: Public Possession and Toy Tonics both have links to Gomma records. It's all a family thing. Where Great Munich vibes incoming!
