Shakarchi & Stranéus inhabit a secret place in the universe of music, one existing at the intersection of Scandinavian poplands, Hisingen forest raves and outernational placelessness. Faik Shakarchi and Daniel Stranéus famously started making beats together in the Gothenburg tapas-joint coat check where they both worked as clerks. Their now 10 years old friendship is the story of legends, their sparse vinyl output the secret love of deep house 12'' enthusiasts round the globe - the warm, vibrant sounds found on those records a stark contrast to the stripped-down effectiveness of their marathon DJ sets, frequently heard within the more nefarious examples of GBG nightlife. The duo has also been a part of Studio Barnhus since the very beginning, first letting us into their strange and cozy world with the Dödskallar och korallrev EP in 2010, effectively turning what was then a one-release operation into a Record Label. The distinctive sound of that early material (described by one Discogs commenter as enlightened, naive future dub for children') has been expanded upon and further defined on their debut album Steal Chickens from Men and the Future from God, its 12 cuts lovingly selected from a plethora of works floating in and out of makeshift studios from Storgatan to Gamlestan over the last 7 years. The record took its final form at Nacksving, same place where recent albums from Talaboman and Kornél Kovács were sonically perfected in cahoots with mix engineer Matt Karmil. Steal Chickens from Men and the Future from God is released on all digital platforms, as CD and as DJ friendly double vinyl on March 23rd 2018.

The heavenly 'Skywards' leads the way upwards with tenderly treated spacious drum programming and light-as-air atmospherics while darker and deeper cavernous tones create the yin-yang balance of lightness and dark. 'Broken Spell' continues the uplifted vibe of a spell that when broken, blooms open with an intoxicating permeating sweetness like an exotic fragrance that lingers in one's memory. 'A New Day' leans slightly more towards a heavier driven track featuring a funky bassline with bright electronic notations as counterpoint while drifting, dreamy pads keep the overall mood airy and light. The off-kilter knob is turned way right on the bouncy final track 'Disjointed Route', injecting dashes of wry quirk alongside a lightly moving groove.

Originally released on the French label Apricot Records in 1997. It now includes an extended mix of the title track, and a previously unreleased song serving as a dub on the b-side.

Anthony Fade embark on the fourteenth expedition into the exotic lands of palm trees and blue skies with the dreamy and ambient 'Fading' EP. Expedition fourteen features three jams packed full of spacey pads, gritty drum sequences and ambient soundscapes, accompanied by a industrial driven remix from TRP.

Detroit duo Ataxia offer up their 'Kodak Moment' EP via Visionquest this March, accompanied by an edit from label co-founders Shaun Reeves and Ryan Crosson.

Eric Ricker and Ted Krisko aka Ataxia have been at the forefront of the contemporary house and techno scene for some time, racking up releases on some of the leading labels across the globe such as Leftroom, Nervous, Culprit and Play It Say It, making the duo one of Detroit's finest exports in recent years. Here we see them making their debut on Visionquest, the label of fellow Detroit natives Ryan Crosson, Shaun Reeves and Lee Curtiss.

'VHS' leads the package with murky synth swells, resonant synth sweeps and fluttering square wave bass tones at it's core as shuffled drums carry the ever-evolving hypnotic groove along. The original mix of 'Kodak Moment' follows, shifting the focus over to snaking bass lines, mind-bending, modulating synth whirrs and dynamic, choppy percussion throughout.

Reeves & Crosson's 'Edit' of 'Kodak Moment' then rounds out the release, stripping things back to ethereal atmospherics and shuffled drums whilst subtly stirring in the original's hooky bass groove as the interpretation unfolds.

Late September will see Ceri release her 'Truth' EP via Decay Records, backed with remixes from
Julien Sandre (Blind Box, These Days, Rawax) and OCH (Trelik, Bass Culture, All Inn).

London based producer and DJ Ceri has been steadily on the rise over the past decade. She shaped her
distinctive DJ style playing nine hour sets in the second room of Corsica Studios as one of Jaded's
official residents.

Her rising reputation then led to recognition from many electronic music institutions, such as fabric and
Percolate in London and Back To Basics in Leeds. Further afield, after supporting her music, Jamie
Jones welcomed her as a guest for his Paradise party at DC10 in Ibiza and she has graced the decks in
Berlin, Mexico, Switzerland and Italy too.

Amongst these impressive feats, Ceri is also widely recognised for her studio talents, with her releases and
remixes being played by everyone from Richie Hawtin to D'julz.

Title-track 'Truth', inspired as a response to Brexit, takes the lead with pulsating subs, bumpy rhythms,
tight-knit percussive shuffles and menacing sawtooth bass tones while spoken world vocal tones stating 'we
are all equal' and how we should live 'not with our minds, but with our hearts', further fuel the murky,
atmospheric aesthetic. Julien Sandre steps up to rework 'Truth' next, stamping his mark on things via
ethereal atmospheric flutters and robust, swinging drums.

The second original from Ceri, 'Be Mine', opens up the flip side, this time round embracing low slung
rhythms, a choppy tom-driven bass line and dynamic, tension building feel throughout with resonant synth
licks, vocal shots and string gradually unfolding. Autoreply main man OCH then closes the release with his
take on 'Be Mine', delivering a typically stripped back and groovy interpretation from the Berlin based artist,
focused on intricately programmed percussion and gritty bass stabs.

Mind Stretch' featuring a bubbling delayed synth with a resonating percussion pattern, a dark and beautiful house cut. 'Low Knee Cutter' a playful sub bass pulse, a dubbed and delayed loop obsession made for big room systems. 'Estuaries' a deep sub bass line and clear references to the dub techno tradition, features Maltz on a piano solo on this hypnotic track. 'Messin Around You' a textural journey with a deep drum foundation, a swirling combination blending samples from older works, fusing them into a new musical statement.

This mysterious duo have been long time friends since childhood and both have active solo careers in the independent music industry. On this EP they join forces to give listeners a refreshing and envelope pushing abstract deep house experience.

This 12", out on the limited-run LiveJam Limited imprint, wants to propose three club-oriented cuts exctracted from John Swing's debut album 'Assorted Moods', on a more DJ friendly format. The 4th track on the EP, "Bonus Track", is a previously unreleased raw house groover in typical John Swing's style. 350 hand numbered copies.

It's a pleasure to get behind your friends from around world, in fact that's the motive behind the breadth of the ESP Institute catalogue, but its truly a special feeling to represent your friends and your neighborhood at the same time. Producers Sonns (Alexandre Mouracade) and the mysterious Venice Beach native Tavish Graham are both long time friends of the ESP Institute family, we break bread, we take care of each other, and we cherish our collaborations more than anything, but we're also neighbors. That said, ESP is proud to announce a homegrown endeavor, the debut of Sonns & Tavish. The two have long been stewards of the Los Angeles underground, but after loads of early morning banter and the camaraderie that comes with this smoke'n'strobe life, they've now committed their singular vision to print—two epic cuts that make us proud. Side A's title track Trycksaker is a thumper, a mid-tempo big-drum-laden beast that chugs the whole way through carrying an array of eerie bleeps and fleeting sighs. Alex Falk first showed up on our radar back in 2013 when his Terse EP dropped on Tennessee-based label Proper Trax. That record - specifically "PTR", which we pitched way down and turned way up - was a regular fixture on our platters, so we were stoked when the man in Knoxville got in touch with these groove-heavy, stripped-back floor fillers that now make up the Anjuna EP.

Seth Troxler's Play It Say It label opens up 2018 with another release from the highly regarded Ataxia, who serve up their third EP for the imprint.The Detroit duo impressed with their previous outings on the label, The Supertouch EP back in July 2017 and The Acid EP in 2016. Since then they have also released on Leftroom and Nervous and continued their eight year residency at prominent Detroit venue TV Lounge. Their fresh take on Motor City techno often comes with flashes of acid and makes cyber punks Ted Krisko and Eric Ricker one of the most interesting pairs in the game. Opening up the essential EP is 'Quicksand', an immediately arresting and busy electro track with real machine soul. The bassline bubbles and boils underneath crisp percussion and emotive keys bring a sense of tenderness. It's a macho cut with robust drums and is sure to win over any crowd.
The fresh 'Hot Snakes' is a deep, menacing track with dark bass gurgling beneath the airy hi hats. Frazzled synths are dystopian and brain frying, and together the whole thing takes you into hypnotic territory with an intense sense of urgency that is impossible to ignore.Last of all is the freakiest of the lot. The brilliant 'Texas is the Reason' has circling bass that is warped and intriguing and will own any club, while the drums drive on and trippy keys are skewed and twisted up top. It's a truly intense record for late in the night that is sure to become a big tune.
This is an expressive and varied EP full of contemporary and innovative Detroit house and techno sounds and marks another step in the Ataxia story.

Hot on the heels of this summers anthemic release I Found You', Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons return with another heavy hitter: 'Fly Away' complete with stupendous Dennis Ferrer Remix. 'Fly Away' is another great beguiling, soulful masterpiece by Damian Lazarus & The Moons, featuring the inimitable vocal talents of Afronaut Zu, who transcendent voca leanings underpin the lush evocative production of the effortless string laden grooves.
On the flip and Dennis Ferrer delivers a monster of a remix; jacking the groove, dubbing Zu's vocal and mesmerising the dance-floor to maximum effect!

Following the release of his Projector EP earlier this month, Daniel Avery has enlisted revered London producer Four Tet aka Kieran Hebden for a remix of 'Quick Eternity', taken from the former's long-awaited second album Song For Alpha.

Hebden flips the warm, undulating synths and crystalline percussion of Avery's original in his own inimitable style, building shimmering, skittering flourishes before a pneumatic final half.

"Soul Jazz Records" are re-releasing keyboardist Eddie Russ's seminal debut deep jazz LP 'Fresh Out' in a limited edition - coloured vinyl of 1000 Copies worldwide. (Within download code)

Eddie Russ was an important figure to emerge from the vibrant underground jazz scene that thrived in Detroit in the early 1970's, existing in the cultural and economic desolation of the city after the departure of Motown in the late 1960's.

This scene included the musical collective Tribe (within members like Wendell Harrison, Marcus Belgrave, Phil Ranelin, Harold McKinney and Doug Hammond) and Kenny Cox's Strata Records. Eddie Russ's Fresh Out was first released in 1974 on the independent Jazz Masters record label.
 
As well as including the classic jazz dance cut The Lope Song, Eddie Russ's Fresh Out featured the debut of the group The Mixed Bag who subsequently recorded for both Tribe and Strata Records. Eddie Russ released two further classic jazz funk albums in the late 1970's, See the Light and Take a Look at Yourself. 

One of those you know but can't quite believe. P Diddley can't be wrong.

We've had our eyes on Obas Nenor for a while and after his disco-meets-Detroit affair on 'Mahogani', and some great releases on his newly started own label 'Nenorian music' and 'Sol Power', we're happy to share his work for Heist with you. 'The Ceaper Buing EP" features 4 original cuts and a remix by Swedish "Mr. Tophat" that navigates somewhere between really weird, and really groovy. If you've seen any of his studio videos, you'll see he's has a great mix between live instrumentation, and sampling on his MPC, and each track on this EP has so many great elements working together, that it will be hard to pick a favourite. "The doors" has a great filtered funk loop going on with some roughed up disco percussion, whereas the Tophat remix twists and turns the original into somewhat of a tribal(ish) drum workout that is probably best enjoyed in a really really dark room. "Glimpse of light" has some really interesting sampling going on with a feel that is almost 'rock', but gets more and more disco with some lovely synth work as the track progresses. As a counterpart to the first part of the EP, 'Wacky' slows things down to give you a summery, afro inspired track that we forced him to send us after we saw a short clip online of him jamming away on his Korg x-911. UV lights is a somewhat special track for us that you wouldn't expect on Heist at first, but makes for a great addition to our musical world. It's perfect 'hands-in-the-air' end of the night material, with a serene and emotional vibe that is really hard not to love. Altogether, it's a great EP that we're really happy to share with you. Following Lo Shea's industrial 'Iterations EP', Dusky's 17 Steps welcomes the mysterious Polymod to the label family with a three track EP of club tools that draw on classic acid house and techno influences.

Hooked with a vintage '88 piano loop and tightly sprung bassline, opener 'No Other' has been ever present in Dusky's sets since the autumn - already inspiring multiple posts in a certain well-known Facebook ID group, as well as causing one eager ID hunter to tweet Dusky with home played piano videos of the main loop.

For all its catchiness, though, it maintains an understated approach that plays on dynamics and contrast - a driving club tool.

Taking a darker route but maintaining the intensity, 'TX' goes for the jugular with a looping surge of acid and rolling electro rhythms.

Completing the trio is the spacious 'PG1000' that joins the dots between '90s ambient, proto-house and Detroit machine music at its most dreamy.

Kim Ann Foxman's Firehouse imprint storms into 2018 with an extra special re-release of the 1994 rave classic Scott Richmond and John Selway aka Psychedlic Research Lab, Keep On Climbin' .The package features both original mixes alongside two outstanding remixes from Deetron and Kim Ann Foxman. Mix 1 and Mix 2 sound as glorious now as they did when they were released. Mix 1, a bold, breakbeat construct, chopped vocal and emerging acid lines. Mix 2 places four to the floor. It's deeper with added percussion, soft chord stabs and an almighty breakdown to the drop. Deetron makes his debut on Firehouse with a tough, grinding version, underpinned by his signature, gnarling bassline sound. Kim Ann Foxman incorporates acid lines to her revision. It builds intensely from start to finish, using Angela Johnson's iconic vocal loop to perfection.

Good news, kids: Now you can play a different Kitjen record every day of the week, because just as last summer, we have some hot Dutch jams coming your way for Kitjen 007: Utrecht's own Stijn Sadée, who has been making moves in the Dutch scene for a while and runs the infamous Club Sauvage night, brings us three mystically exotic joints that showcase his manifold sources of inspiration and will bang your gong this summer. None other than Hessen's love doctor Gerd Janson stops by to seal the deal by turning "Affetto" into a 12 minute dancefloor journey. Pack light!

July sees Radio Slave's Rekids invite Britain's renowned Swayzak to the roster with a Cold War themed release entitled 'Odessa Calling' EP.A name associated with quality, Swayzak's ability to retain their signature sound whilst producing across various sub-genres has cemented them a solid reputation since their humble beginnings in the 90s. Their impressive back catalogue includes six studio albums and appearances on labels like K7, M_nus, Curle, Ellum and Swayzak's own label 240 Volts, which was relaunched in 2017. Originally a duo comprised of David Brown and James Taylor, Brown has been helming the project solo since 2012. He now joins respected Berlin-based imprint Rekids with two inspired productions. 'Odessa Calling' is a mysterious track with hypnotic synths, mesmerising pads and enigmatic vocals that combine together to create a celestial aesthetic. On the flipside, 'Numbers Station' continues with the otherworldly feel employing shimmering percussion that wanders alongside a brooding bassline for a well refined finish to the package.

Aus Music follow up a string of exclusive releases from Primitive Trust with Tee Mango (one half of PT) Having released on Clone in 2017 Tee Mango comes back to AUS for his second EP in as many years. EP#2 carries forth much of the the same classiness he's well know for. A side 'Come A Little Closer samples a personal favourite 'Make It Last Forever' by Inner Life which is paired with playful drum rhythms and smooth rhodes chords. Prototypical opts for punchy drums and a swinging bass, a track that would work as well peak time as it would warming up. Wazoo rounds off the perectly balanced EP a deep cruiser with a pinch of acid.

Scottish producer & DJ Graeme Clark AKA The Revenge releases his second album 'When The Thrill Comes' on his own Roar Groove imprint on 11th May 2018.

'When The Thrill Comes' is a demonstration of a producer achieving a point of maturity in their work, able to exercise a sense of restraint, to allow for their sound to have space. It is also the opportunity for The Revenge to explore his own electronic music roots with a deeper pared-back sound more in touch with his earliest production experiences in house and techno.

Clark is no novice to the art of production and the sweaty alchemy of animating bodies on dance floors. He has been producing and playing electronic music since 1995, in many forms, though is well known for 'some of finest modern disco dubs and re-edits on the block' (DJ Mag). This passion for dusty disco and deep cuts is reflected in his long-standing collaboration with Craig Smith as 6th Borough Project which has yielded 3 albums and provided the foundation for the influential but now defunct Instruments Of Rapture label.

2015 was a momentous year for Clark with the release of his debut album 'Love That Will Not Die' on his own Roar Groove imprint. The LP picked up 'Best British Album' from DJ Mag, was shortlisted for Scottish Album Of The Year and drew support from leading DJs including Jackmaster, John Talabot, Solomun, Craig Richards, Axel Boman amongst others. Recent production work has both cemented and extended his reputation; with his future-facing remix for Auntie Flo being re-touched by Dixon for the Philomena label and his two EP's for Berlin's Dirt Crew Recordings reinforcing his love for solid club jams

UC Beatz releases his first LP Mosaic Grooves. A limited vinyl press at first, and a record that sees him work in new ideas alongside his much loved usual style.

Estonian pioneer Raul Saaramets exists in many parallel musical universes and this is reflected in his stellar output as Ajukaja, mining a rich furrow of stand out, oddball yet eminently danceable, groovy house and beat experiments.

As the program co-director for Estonia's national radio station Raadio 2, he's given his country unprecedented access to some of the hottest music on this planet.

He's also made some of the finest underground dance records over the last few years including 'Stranger', 'Benga Benga' and "Rare Birds' (made with long time production partner Andrevski) which were hammered by the scenes elite.

His Bergerac debut has been a long time coming but well worth the wait.

Mhmhmh is a super vibey late night burner which quite obviously gets its title from the faintly Germanic, sleazy vocal sample which goes 'um hum um hum'.

Sklad trips you out even more with a mangled, ecstasy tinged fading in(tro) which gives you 'that' feeling

Ajukajal puts his disco hat on for side 2 with Ekleeer. A super danceable disco cut rolls out until the vocals drop in and you realise that David Lynch is on the remix.

Walk previously saw light as a tape only track but it's playful scuffed up jiggery pokery cried out for a vinyl release so here it is..
