The sporadic and limited edition Especial Specials returns after a yearlong hiatus by teaming up with DEEK Recordings to bring their unique covers Covered In Gloria compilation to vinyl. Featuring label boss Bullion on A&R, production and artistic duties, alongside label favourites Thool, plus fellow luminaries Red Axes, Reckonwrong and newcomers Alaskalaska.

The premise for the project couldn't be more straight forward, giving peers and friends a free reign over who they reinterpret. Overseen by label head Nathan Jenkins (Bullion) the project is pulled together for release by DEEK as a now annual jam.

First up, the Red Axes duo just keep on keeping on. Their retake of a miss-hit from Ms K Wilde is a surprise catch and the reposte to the often strained, cooler-than-thou machinations of the music scene. It's the groove and that makes you moove.

Next is the highly talented, but still underrated Thool with their stunning Francophile take of Joe Jackson's classic Stepping Out. A mix of pop perfection and Balearic love. The side closes with art-pop exposers, Alaskalaska, giving Edwin Collins' career returning hit a warm twist and hip-shake that is hard to resist.

Of course Mr. DEEK is here somewhere and Bullion's cover of J.J.Cale's ode to forgetting life's troubles heralds exactly why Covered In Gloria works. A perfect marriage of respectful update, killer production and song-craft, fun and letting it all hang out. To close then comes another of London's rising natural talents. After stand out releases for Pinkman and Whities, here Reckonwrong turns it all on its head with his warped reversion of Berverley Craven's torchbearer. I'll be right here waiting

Schvitz Edits is the brand new label from Nathan Micay aka Bwana. Each 12'' will contain two edits of classic, non-dance music songs and bring them into a modern and most definitely dance friendly context. After proving himself as a fearless remixer with his Capsule's Pride album on LuckyMe in 2016, Micay brings the heat on two very original remixes. On side A we have a dance floor ready interpretation of Dr. John's classic 'I Walk On Guilded Splinters' while the flip sees Gordon Lightfoot's ode of heart break 'Oh, Linda' transformed into an early 90's trance anthem. A very fresh take on the classic white label edits formula!

Most of the time the intention of descriptive text is not to shed light on the work of the artist, but rather to serve as a promotional tool to drive sales and increase recognition. This often has the unfortunate result of limiting the creator and his work. Music is all we need, any other additives are completely dispensable.- This project is an experiment.- Only six artists are part of this project.- The identity of the artists involved in the project will remain private but they are free to reveal their identity after some time, even if we would prefer they didn't (that is the reason we provide a special code in the back of each record)- The artists involved in the project are not aware of the identity of the other artists.- During the following 12 months we will periodically release 12 records: 11 x 12 and the last one, a special 7- Each record is a full album, a trip into the mind of the artist. The title track "Empty Dancefloor" combines a thumping kick drum, stuttering hats and mesmeric chords, a combination that prove to be the perfect backing track to a captivating synth solo. It's extremely difficult not to find yourself lost in this enchanting track. Fracture" is a track where Skygaze really showcases his ability to combine broken beat, complex drum patterns with bewitching chords, magical marimbas and a curious bassline.
It is a track that really keeps you guessing throughout and one that can really add variety to any DJ set.
First up on remix duties is Jonna, who has put his own stamp on "Empty Dancefloor".
jonna is a DJ, Producer & one of the Label owners of City Fly Records, his sets are prominently House but take in influences from Disco, Techno, Hip-Hop, Funk, Jazz... Basically any music with Soul.
His first artist EP dropped early 2016 on 'Shadeleaf Music' & featured the incredibly talented Erik Rico on vocals with remixes by Atlanta's Kai Alce. The EP achieved great success & Sold Out in the first Month & was supported by heavyweight's Recloose, Derrick Carter, Jimpster & Osunlade to name a few.
Collab Singles (with Samwell) 'Henry Western' Featuring Lady Blacktronika followed on City Fly which was supported heavily on BBC 6 Music, that followed by 'Alright' on 'Future Society', a compilation curated by Seven Davis Jr on R2 Records and more recently the Luke Soloman Edit of 'Through The Night' again on Shadeleaf Music.
He has been busy in the studio since with a release on Secret Crunch (Austria) & 2 EP's forthcoming on Marcel Vogel's excellent Intimate Friends (NL).
The remix of "Empty Dancefloor" is one that is done in the unmistakable Jonna style, it's got groove! By chopping and changing the chords from the original, Jonna has created an entirely new melody, which when combined with rolling bongos and punchy bassline, you can't help but tap your feet.
The all too familiar synth solo from the original resonates throughout and pulls the track together, creating a guaranteed hit on any dance floor. Last, but certainly not least is Chicago based, Garrett David. The Smart Bar Resident has taken time out from his A&R / House buying duties at the famous Gramaphone Records to conjure up a bumping, yet dreamy remix of "Fracture".
He has previous releases on labels including Distant Hawaii, Residual Recordings, Night Sea Journey as well as his own imprint Stripped & Chewed and has really brought some Chicago flavours to the table with this one.

Acid Pauli's second album 'BLD' dropped earlier this year to a rapturous reception. Martin Gretschmann's trippy opus took in various stops around the musical spectrum, yet remained committed to quality dance-floor tracks that refuse to follow any particular rule book. This collection of remixes of the album's A side (hence the name) only adds to that achievement - bringing yet more new flavours and takes from some of the most exciting names in the underground. 'Abbebe' gets a rework from Sainte Vie who brings his trademark 'multicultural electro' sound to the album's opener, and produces an ecstatic mid-paced groover for the heads. Oceanvs Orientalis drops a similarly exciting rerub, finding new angles and dimensions to the track 'Baris'. Tel Aviv's Red Axes turn up the psychedelica for the duo's amazing dissection of 'Ayam' - deep sounds immersed in acidic tones and tight-yet-wonky arrangements. Lastly 'Majid' gets the treatment from label co-head Nico Stojan who produces a sleek and spacy remix that will delight the early morning ravers.

Known more for their dubby 'kosmische' and psychedelic post-disko, Glasgow label Invisible Inc seem to be wandering closer to the realms of the nightclub dancefloor these days. Not that anyone's complaining. With recent outings by Strange Culture and Sordid Sound System taking the lead, this one by Budapest's Bal5000 is quite possibly their most dancefloor friendly release yet.All four cuts inhabit a space somewhere at the very edge of 'house' but are steeped in soaringly cosmic italo-esque synth lines and bubbling, motorik arpeggios reminiscent of early '80s minimal.....the result is a real sonic treat: hypnotically transcendant, yet beautifully melodic, and all solidly underpinned by some seriously low-end sub-bass, tight rhythms and pistol-sharp snares.

Calendar Crowd was the duo of Alan Heaton and Terence tiernan who met in their hometown of Widnes, Cheshire as schoolboys and played together in various bands in the '70s. In the '80s they formed a 6-piece band called Room For Humans 0and recorded one single'Telephone Telephone / Girlfriend'. When the band split and Alan and Terence continued as Calendar Crowd in a more experimental direction. Their influences were wide reaching: Kraftwerk, Neu, Cabaret Voltaire, Eno, PIL, and Joy Division.In 1982 they released their debut single 'Perfect Hideaway/Perfect Hideaway Dub' on 7'. Guitarist David Knowles joined them as they toured the UK and recorded and released their follow up EP 'Listen in to the Heart' in 1985. A reviewer at the time called Calendar Crowd 'A Moody Merseyside trio with strong atmospheric tunes and haunting lyrics.' For this reissue we've compiled both singles on one EP featuring all four songs. Perfect Hideway is a evocative and dreamy, the music escorts you on a tour of icy landscapes, with Terrance's deep, rich vocals guiding the way accented by bright brass stabs. Meanwhile the Dub has stripped back the vocals, added delayed samples and heavy pounding drums. On the B-side 'Listen in to the Heart' and 'Questions Answers' are darker electronic rhythm tracks with layers of ethereal keyboards and guitar melodies. All songs have been remastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The record is housed in an exact replica of the original Perfect Hideaway jacket featuring black and white October 1982 calendar with the tile hand written in red pen. Each copy includes a double-sided 8x11' insert with lyrics, notes and photos.

Following our tenth release we welcome two unique and established artists into the Leftback family.
David Gtronic and Randall M join us for their first outing on the label off the back of their busy international touring schedule and contribute an epic deep and twisted track across one whole of side A.
Accompanied on the B side by a heavy duty dub mix stripping back the original track and knotching up the BPM. Label regular Matt Star provides his dubby techno stamp for the remix completing the package on B2.

Frits Wentink's Bobby Donny label returns with a new EP from Icelandic producer Felix Leifur. It's not often someone other than the boss releases on this
label so you know this new one is quality indeed.
Leifur—who also works as David & Hjalti and Davíð Sveinn Bjarnason — has two solid EPs to his name on Dirt Crew.
They show him to be a producer of succulent deep house and atmospheric prone beats. Across four cuts here he offers jazzy vibes, organic percussive
patterns and authentic styles filled with warmth and soul.
Opener 'Unidentified Blues' is a loose jumbled of hi hats and cymbals, Rhodes chords and shuffling drums that could well come from the studio of a certain Moodymann.
They are alive and enriched with real feeling from start to finish. 'Hampton' is another tender fusion of deep kick drums, tape echo and curious melodies all tied together by jostling groove that is beautifully incidental and unhurried. 'Contact' then brings more proper jazz drums to the table, with distant sax sounds and closely miced hits and spaces of cymbal all feeling loose and free as they suck you into their world. Last of all, 'Universal Rim' picks up the pace with a more rooted house groove, freeform percussion and wooden hits and trilling, echo drenched
melodies all making for an intoxicating cut.

LOFT Records returns after a fruitful year to kick-start 2017 with three infectious cuts from rising Irish talent Hammer.

The Belfast-born producer is well known for his lauded releases on Feel My Bicep (in collaboration with the label founders) as well as Optimo Music but production isn't his only facet. Hammer has shared DJ booths with the likes of Hunee, Sasha, Midland, Craig Richards and nd_baumecker, whether at his residency at Sub Club or at his many gigs throughout Europe.

With LOFT Recordings reflecting on a prosperous 2016, including a class two track release from Isaac Tichauer, followed by a chart topping remix package featuring Hackman, Dorsia, Lancelot and Bicep, Hammer's innovative contribution to the imprint looks to follow suit.

Soaring pads and intricate drums form the overall aesthetic of 'Canna' but as the track progresses serene melodies and subtle snare rolls come together to form a harmonious eruption of synths. 'Manaka' then shifts to syncopated percussion and spectral nuances before 'Man Ray' delivers distorted atmospherics and twisted chord sequences to conclude the package.

The kid is back! The wunderkind from Wichita, Kansas collates another wonderful release on his own Moran Music Group, featuring music from Karlos' archive old and new. Expect more of the same deep and warm vibes, all made with a special and loving touch.

Nicholas returns to Church with a six track mini LP.

In 2016 Simon Pitt and Alex Kassian formed Planet Sundae Recordings. 'Opal Sunn II' is their third release.
Part I was out July 2017 with Andrew Weatherall taking a massive shine to it, playing all 4 tracks at a gig in Barcelona.
It was championed also by Massimiliano Pagliara, of Ostgut fame. Opal Sunn is live-performance duo Al Kassian & Hiroaki OBA.
Formed in 2015, the pair have recorded countless hardware-driven improvisational sessions, puzzled together to create abstract musical journeys.
The aim is to transcend the improvisational magic of the studio jam and funnel it into the live performance.
Having played at Rainbow Disco Club 2016 in Japan & Atlas Electronic 2016 in Morocco,the pair took both excited audiences by surprise with their heavily improvised live sessions.

Outstrip are Denis Borisov & Anton Severinenko; with their debut EP on Dogmatik they deliver 4 subterranean dance floor cuts. Leipzig's Salomo - who caught attention with his contribution to the labels previous compilation is now releasing his full solo LP via VARY. 12 tracker that provides an organic transition from house to ambient - suitable for club play, your next pool party or as a birthday gift to your mother in law. Conscious of it's inspirations, the record is a slight nod in the direction of contemporary electronic music from London, Vancouver and Detroit that still strikes with integrity & originality.

Three raw, tough, cutting originals from a Brooklyn borough brother only known as Trey. All tracky and dynamic, blunt and deliberate, and most definitely made for clubs that exist on the fringes, in the seedier, stranger corners of the world. Prince of Persia sound from the big city: The dusty twilight of day and night sets the atmospheric backdrop for the dreamlike groove visions of Berlin based producer Zigan Aldi. The track "Blue Hill" combines a compelling bassline with the enigmatic sound of a string instrument that seems to originate straight from the parallel World of 1001 Nights. "Rosa Martha" starts as a stripped-down rhythm tool with a rather dark vibe which then contrasts beautifully with a hint of warm House music bubbling up from the depths towards the middle of the track. Mollono.Bass and Pophop dedicate their remixes to the uplifting side of things, and the digital version provides two more exciting adventure stories for dance floor explorers.

D-Force and Yence505 did an awesome collab creating 4 tracks with a warm mix of styles. House, Techno, Progressive all in one to make this a beautiful EP creating sunny vibes.

It's this experience of being at an age when you're really uncertain of everything and overwhelmed by how much grief and how much horror is happening in this world, overwhelmed by your trauma and your baggage and in many ways you are stunted by this fear or paralysed by it even though you are aware of how much better you have it than the vast majority of others out there. It isolates the idea that we all exist within a framework of fragility and uncertainty. 'Distilled Existence' imagines an alternative reality that exists in stark contrast, where everything is gentle and nothing hurts.

Following a red letter release in the form of Joe Armon-Jones & Maxwell Owin's Idiom, YAM Recordings return with the second installment of their You And Music compilation series, this time compiled by YAM fam Hollick & Z Lovecraft. Kicking things off on the A side is Native Cruise, a new artist Hollick has been working extensively with on No Bad Days, bringing that signature 'floaty yet punchy' sound. It's a Kwaito-esque club jam with pan flutes and percussive loops bringing that energy to the start of the record. Will Lister's 'Sunset Over St. Peter's Spire' is up next with a hypnotising yet intricate production from the hugely promising talent. Will is a dude very much affiliated with YAM and, of course, our pals over at Balamii Radio so it only seemed natural to have him on the record. That melody is a proper ear-worm too!
The B side, curated by Z Lovecraft, is a slightly tougher affair with three tracks representing his taste in soulful sounds and expands on his A&R work for Rhythm Section International. First up is Rouge Me´chanique's 'Prisma Ltd'; a 7-minute psychedelic drum odyssey showcasing the multi instrumentalist's many talents and influences, with guitar overdubs and flute ambience taking the dance floor far and beyond. On B2, upcoming break beat talent, LT, takes the helm with 'Gale Force'. Hailing from the Peak District, LT makes work of deep vocal pads, 606 touches and a killer bass line. Finishing off the compilation is Wholemeal Music's boy wonder, Dear Earth, who conjures a charming hip-hop ditty with his delicate assemblage style.

Originally released as a highly sought after limited white label, Leftroom now releases the immutable 'Cultural Variance' EP from DJ Bone, comprising two original choice cuts from the Detroit producer.

Eric Dulan aka DJ Bone's production career dates back to the end of the 90s when he unveiled a consistent string of 12'' releases via his own Subject Detroit imprint as well as working with Juan Atkins' Metroplex. Recent times have seen DJ Bone collaborate with Deetron, join the Hessle Audio crew at fabric London and make regular appearances at the infamous Freerotation festival, here we see Dulan push on joining the Leftroom Records roster with a fresh two-track EP.

Kicking things off is title track 'Cultural Variance', a ten-minute progressively blooming composition led by direct 4/4 rhythms and meandering arepggio's infused with a high energy, up-tempo feel creating a typically classy piece of work from DJ Bone. On the flip we have 'Faze' and this time Dulan takes on an understated dubbed-out approach laid out over its near eight-minute duration with a smooth, gradually unfolding feel.

Already heavily championed by Ben UFO, Laurent Garnier & Seth Troxler. This is a HUGE record!!

Julien Sandre and Mennie return under their Jarau guise this January with the 'Saturn System' EP, set for release via Visionquest's Special Edition sub-label. France's Julian Sandre and Italy's Mennie have both individually carved out quite the career over the past decade with the former racking up releases on BlindBox, Franck Roger's Home Invasion and E Wax amongst others, and the latter holding a residency at Tenax club in Italy and collaborating togheter on releases for Poker Flat and Housewax of late, 2017 also saw their collaborative debut as Jarau which came courtesy of the revered PLEASURE ZONE imprint.

Now returning for their second EP under this new guise the pair join the roster of Visionquest Special Edition with 'Saturn System' and taking the lead is 'Le Voyage', a snaking journey through billowing synth swells, jangling percussive chimes and organic drums before 'Dubhe' strips the vibe back to modulating resonant synths, shuffled stripped-back rhythms and lumpy sub bass tones.

'Adrienne' opens the flip side with the focus on a swinging drum groove as airy atmospherics ebb and flow throughout. 'Hypnotize' then rounds out the package and as the name would suggest relies on subtle nuances to draw you deeper and deeper into the intricately programmed percussion and smoothly blooming synth flourishes.

9 years on from their inaugural release from back in December 2004, Saved Records have now reached their landmark 100th release. Ever since SAVED001, Skylark presents Buick Project - "Chancer / Drop The Beat" Saved have stood as a benchmark for quality whilst nurturing new talent and pushing the envelope for electronic music as a whole. Celebrating the achievement in style, the Maidstone based imprint will be bringing together a mind-blowing collection of the label's favourite producers and DJ's, covering all aspects of the musical spectrum; from deep house to peak-time techno and will be available on limited vinyl samplers.

Saved 100 will feature original material from label bosses Nic and Mark Fanciulli alongside Saved mainstays Robert Dietz, Philip Bader, Stacey Pullen, Gary Beck and Alex Tepper. Mouth-watering remixers include Danny Daze, Frankie Knuckles, Joris Voorn and Adam Beyer with the likes of Subb-an, Spencer Parker, Terrence Parker and Mark Broom all also set to feature in a compilation that displays both the depth and dexterity of Saved Record's impressive back catalogue. The compilation will also come with an exclusive mix from Mark Fanciulli, serving up a label perspective from right within the eye of the Saved nucleus.

The Saved 100 tour began at Output in New York on January 3rd before heading off to Mexico for a stellar Saved showcase at this year's BPM festival. Continuing until April, it will then encompass shows in Tel Aviv, Dublin, Montpellier, Munich, Basel, Barcelona, Chicago, Miami, Detroit, Antwerp, Copenhagen, Toronto and many more.

Native New Yorker Son Of Sound aka Henry Maldonado returns to Delusions of Grandeur with another fine EP including two floor-friendly originals plus a stripped back remix from Aroop Roy. For those too young to have been buying records in the early 90's Henry was a key figure, involved in seminal releases on Strictly Rhythm as House 2 House, Maxi Records as Deja Vu and MAW Records as Rhythm Section. To say this guy has history is something of an understatement having made an important contribution to the first wave of deep house with productions dating right back to '91. More recently he has created magic for Jus Ed's Underground Quality, Classic, Razor n Tape and Local Talk as well as establishing his own District30 imprint.
We kick off with NY Iz All I Know, a warm, soulful yet pumping slice of what can only be described as proper house music! Looped up vocal chops bounce around a classic disco groove until things breakdown into a new chord progression and saw wave bassline which add an interesting twist to the arrangement. Skin Tight drops next introducing a funk break underneath the solid four on the floor kick. One of Henry's trademark chord progressions emerges and the elements build up around to form another masterclass in sample-heavy house perfection.
Aroop Roy steps up for the remix following a run of fine edits and originals on the likes of Freestyle, Basic Fingers and House Of Disco. NY Iz All I Know gets stripped back and pumped up, taking the key elements and adding his own disco inspired groove and Moogy synth business for a floor- pleasing gem that we're sure will help find him new fans from across the house and disco spectrum.

Wolf Müller & Versatile label head Gilb'R give the remix treatment to Zombie Zombie's 'Hippocampe' - the first track from their recent 'Livity' LP. A long time fan of the band, Jan Schulte (under his Wolf Müller alias), delivers 2 interpretations of the track, combining heavy Krautrock influences à la Can with a distinctive b-boy twist. Gilb'R takes 'Hippocampe' in a more minimalistic direction, with heavy drums laying the basis for a dubbed out journey.
