Good Times feat. Aquarius Heaven' on A evokes its feelgood vibe on a crinkling collection of percussion elements and therefore redeems all the trademark-claims one could address towards the rhythm-fond originator. Not to forget this synth-hook, that's adjusting the potential of this track right into the middle of the floor and at some point stretches out into a trippy organ-jam. All last restrain then should be swept away when Aquarius starts his nasal croon. There's a moment in the night, when everything is right.' And you might've guessed it, he's talking about the moment, this tune is spinning.

Roll' on the flip embraces us with sassy snare-snaps, a full bodied kick and secretly whispering hihats. This beat, containing a rather subtle realization of Rampa's percussive fetish, builds up alongside comfortably warm synths and a bassline raising the temperature another notch. A warm-up-weapon full of dynamics that finally drifts towards a chord meditation dropping any burden left. You could call it a complementation of the Good Times' - and no doubt, the combo of this two-track-ensemble will get the best out both, the peaking and the tension building moments of the night.

DJ and producer Reggie Dokes, along with Detroit colleague Brian Neal, come together for a moving and soulful presentation: Detroit Luv EP. Intertwining both house and techno elements seamlessly in homage to the Detroit Techno and House legacy. Artist Brian Neal may be unknown to most, but he has been creating music for years. Here we find the artist tapped by Mr. Dokes, presenting his music for the first time in vinyl format. This melodic, dancefloor material, is sure to bring Brian Neal to the spotlight.

The original mix of Code 718's seminal slice of NY deep house bliss is an all time anthem. Basing itself on Manuel Gottsching's 'E2-E4', a benchmark record in contemporary dance musics lexicon, with the infamous keyboard refrain replayed 'Equinox' was a sprawling new age house masterpiece. Released on Strictly in 1992 the record was produced by legendary DJ Danny Tenaglia and is still considered a classic today.

This 2009 reboot by German uber producer Henrik Schwarz takes the original in a new, fresh direction. Utilising modern production techniques and elements of Tenaglia's original to devastating effect, the Schwarz mixes respectfully rejig this classic. Often highly sought after by collectors these mixes have long been out of print and now, a timely repress is here for 2017. Watch out for that dub mix!

Welcome to the all new Children Of The Box, a label heavily inspired by the edgier side of Chicago's legendary club, the 'Music Box'. We're getting things rolling with a whirlwind of raw Analog recordings by Gavin Guthrie, aka TX Connect (L.I.E.S., Creme Organization, T.R.U.).
First up is 'Dripping', which carries a vintage (yet modern) Gherkin Jerks sound. The song continuously builds throughout the track, ending in a frenzy of synthesizer's & 707 drum patterns.

A melodic interlude gives the listener a slight break, but only to return with a vengeance.Not Forever' brings a 'back to the future' vibe, equally stacked with both vintage & modern elements. The song comes complete with an overpowering low synth line & 707 drums. Closing things out is 'Destinies', a track inspired by the deeper side of the Windy City. A more than perfect ending to a stellar release.

Jaime Read is something of an unsung UK legend. An original, unique producer who has been making noise in the underground in his own way, emanating from the South coast of England, since the mid 90's. 'Relief Sevensixty' is a collection of Read's rarer tracks that have appeared in a roundabout way, on a legendary Chicago label in a tale that has by now been widely documented. But that's a story for another time. The real focus here is the music, of course. Across 4 tracks this EP shows what a dynamic producer Read is, the music contained within has a depth and maturity and of course it's some funky as, futuristic, space Techno that sounds like it's just escaped the warp drive and landed here on earth and implanted itself in our eardrums. From the joyous, glorious, electronic funk of 'Douch Me' to the curiously monikered piano driven, subterranean stormer 'Droopy Dancing' the whole EP captures a real insight to a remarkable UK talent operating from under the radar. FLIGHT MODE - ANCIENT LIGHT
Flight Mode is one of the older WU heads and a very prolific producer of some some note for over two decades who fancies trying an alias for a change. It'll likely turn out to be one of those badly kept secrets but we're not letting on for now. Ancient Light has been played on dubplate by Andy for a year or so now and always causes a big reaction, being equally well-tooled for the big room and the afterparty.

The EP leads with its title track, 'Asmaa', a playful ode to the archaic social stigmas still prevalent in the Arab world, as well as a deeply emotional and politically-charged club-friendly composition. Next on the EP is a remix of 'Asmaa' from the Resolute resident and Drumcode don, Alexi Delano. On this remix Alexi takes the mournful chants and heart-felt strings of the original and flips it on its head, ending up with a primetime upbeat dance floor anthem. 'Hussein Online' is the third and final track from the physical EP. Abu has also released a fourth track as a digital exclusive, 'Nado Heights,' which is a minimal dance track starting with a haunting echo that builds with gentle plucks of vintage middle eastern strings, while the beat pops along to the sound of warm and melodic keys on a heartbroken piano. Asmaa was engineered by Tanner Ross (Soul Clap/Wolf + Lamb) and the artwork was imagined and executed by streetwear designer Phillip Wong (Hood By Air, Flandana).

Istanbul based 'Roit' drop their latest EP 'Music Sounds Good', a split work featuring the label head Ave Astra and Ireland's up and coming talent Embezzlement Society.

Roit's manifest declares that the Turkish record label looks out to Detroit with respect. Their sound goes way beyond the borders of the Motor City, mixing UK friendly grooves with Paradise Garage's Disco Edits and with something that sounds like a mix of Gene Hunt and Enzo Siragusa.. Their innovative and multicultural approach to dance music is perfectly showcased by this latest EP 'Music Sounds Good' which features 2 artists pretty active on different fronts. On one side there is Roit's head Ave Astra, who is soon to be releasing on Moscoman's Disco Halal and on the other there is Banoffee Pie Records contributor Embezzlement Society.

Ave Astra's title track is a powerful proper Disco cut: club friendly, hands in the air. A2 is a more stomping but still uplifting House cut, NYC garage inspired rhythmical parts, in your face kick, melodic pads a pure dance floor banger. On the B side Embezzlement Society produce 2 darker party tunes: 'Glad Your Mine' merges sampled guitars and vocals with a relentless beat while 'Westside Rumble' fuses Detroit and London, grooves and bassline, drops and enormous hi hats. It's party time.

When trends in music can come and go in the blink of an eye, ten years is a long time to stay relevant, passionate and real on the frontline. From its roots in the Parisian club scene by way of its spiritual home at Fuse in Brussels
and so on to the globe-trotting, multi-faceted entity that it is today, Lessizmore is living proof of how to do a decade right.

The fundamental heartbeat of this European house and techno institution is the maverick music that its affiliated artists make. Of course what the label sounds like now is not necessarily what the label sounded like back in 2006, but it's telling that some of the original characters are still with the label to this day, while many are long time members of the LIZM family that have joined the ranks over the years. In piecing together this compilation, the idea from label founders Jessica Bossuyt and Pierre Noisiez was simply to represent where their brainchild is at right now, from guests at their events in the early days to more recent collaborators of all kinds.

Kicking off the first EP, the finest slithers of percussion and whispers of icy soul weave their way into the sublime, sprawling concoction that Birdsmakingmachine delivers, shifting drum sounds across eleven minutes of delicate yet irresistible groove. Meanwhile on the B-side long time champion of future-minded dub techno Deadbeat creates something of an anthem for the label, turning out an energised workout laden with psychedelic swirls of delay and embellished with a catchy vocoder hook. Recent Lessizmore signing Louis McGuire delves into his lowslung MPC-powered bag of tricks and drops another crucial slab of swinging funk that finds the up and coming artist turning to a moodier sound palette customized for the deepest corners of the night.

Middlesbrough's Luna Records prepare for the summer with the 'Preserve The Light' EP, a collaborative release from Luna artist Brett Jacobs and Kabuto & Koji man Patrice Meiner that also features a rare remix outing from Mountain People's Rozzo. True to Luna Records form, this EP from East Londoner, Jacobs, and Berlin resident Costa Rican, Meiner, is all about subtle, trippy grooves. The original of 'Preserve The Light' is a dubbed out, low slung and powerfully bass-driven slice of house that wraps itself around a drawn out vocal sample.

Jacobs goes it alone for the second cut on 'Preserve The Light', the measured modern houser 'El Hadu'. Deep, textured and punctuated with a tapestry of strange, out of place sounds it's a textbook exercise in moody, hypnotic writing.
Rozzo delivers the remix of the title track and does so in his inimitable, heavily shuffled house style. Pacey yet slow burning, it's yet another piece of fine work from the Swiss producer.

'Miles Apart', another solo cut from Jacobs, closes the EP and provides a suitably meaty parting shot that blends old school vox hits with punchy contemporary house vibes.

Most known as Damon Jee for his widely acclaimed remixes, Jérôme has been branching out with outstanding originals under his NOZZ alias. In his Misfits EP for Roam NOZZ delivers two excellent new productions. Axefield creates ample room on the B side for his deconstructed synth filled 'SNY' in which Japanese and Jamaican voice samples culminate in just under 9 minutes of bliss. William Caycedo's 'SNY' remix snaps you straight back to the dancefloor, with percussion as crisp as it gets and a baseline as low as it goes, this one has that instant deep gut reaction.

Operating a million miles away from the kick and hiss of the trendy lo-fi folks, the Berlin based producer favours subtle rhythms, delicate textures and tender melodies - turning out a string of sophisticated dance floor winners for 100% Silk, Church and No Bad Days. Now he brings his organic house stylings to the Growing Bin with a fresh five-tracker packed with all the warmth of a Tempelhof picnic on a balmy July afternoon.

Emerging from the watery depths of the Drexciyan ocean, opener ‚Mood' strides calmly through the morning dew, stretching those loose limbs and seeking out Hardcastle's rainforest. Drifting freely
through immersive, aquatic pads and soft focus melodies, the track takes in a little R&R before snapping electro percussion, cascading synthlines and a rolling rhythm up the intensity. The deepness continues on the A2 as ‚Dream Precipitation' offers a medicated vision of Debussy doing P-Bar while Lynch rolls the cameras. Syncopated hi-hats, jazzy keys and star-gazing sine waves wrap themselves around your cerebellum, expanding your mind as a steady kick moves your body into the pleasure zone. Booth takes a Derren Brown tip on the flip, imbuing ‚You' with the kind of mesmeric rhythm that can make the staunchest wallflower pull a Pink Panther on a packed dance floor. The exotic tumble of woody percussion and hissing castanets keep up a fascinating rhythm, driving the titular mantra and snaking synth melody through bursts of slapped bass and subtle 4/4. ‚Dhoop Stick' stays on board with the boogie hypnotism, weaving its way through celestial melodies, squelching bass and toasty Rhodes before ‚The Chorus' brings down the curtain with wailing FM vox, military snares and the dreamy synth pop charm of a lost Sheffield classic. Warm, woody and entirely organic, this is the birth of Green House...you heard it here first!

Five years deep into the game, all nine lives fully intact: Utrechtian feral feline Larry De Kat prowls his way onto Pets... And we really don't need to tell you how purrrrfectly apt this debut union is. Fresh from launching his own Katnip imprint (and putting the final touches on a hush-hush disco edit series), Pets have managed to prise four of his finest, broadest creations from his creative claws. Each one floor-bound, each one backing up the hype he's enjoyed from the likes of Axel Boman, Mark E and Laurent Garnier, each one making us feel like cats who got the creamiest of creams... 'I Know You Can Hear Me' takes the lead on a more direct tip that you might expect from De Kat. Big pumps wrapped in a fine vibe balance of Detroit and Parisian house textures, but done with Larry's signature dubby, jacking style, it's the perfect paws-sitive statement of intent. Slinking deeper into the EP, 'Naakte Groove' lives up to its nude name with a lean-but-warm bass riff that purrs with finesse around a straight-up strutting drum arrangement. So much fun in such a tight, detailed groove, you'll want this on loop forever. 'Amlou' stalks up behind with dusty, thumping charm. Rolling and scratching like it was 20 years younger, there's an innate physicality in the drums that snaps you out when the big disco hook rides in from nowhere. Finally we hit 'She Doesn't'. The dubbiest groove of the set, all eyes are on that bulbous sub, rippling synths and precision tuned snare shot. Hypnotic, heavy, unhurried and heads down... These sounds are fur real. Like all the best stray cats, expect Larry to return to Pets as and when he pleases.

Patrick Vano's next installment on Mo's Ferry takes you on a journey. 'InDustRealized EP' is an adventure ride between Techno and House with side trips into minimal or psychodelic areas. After his 'Tape Jam EP' and the following remixes Patrick did not sit back complacently. He mixed and compiled 'Selected Vibes, Vol.5', was part of our Mo's Ferry takeover Boiler Room in Berlin and not to mention the long nights he spent in the studio for this release. The result is quality tunes right to the point.

In Records back in Romania again, with another young talent : Puxumos. The Romanian House Groover, which leads us into a deep and massive bass break anthem with his unique groove and way of keeping. A classic style old school house burner made for unique - moments. Enjoy !

Sol Power Sound is proud to present their first release of 2016, a 3-song EP by recent Finnish expatriate, Tom of Brooklyn. After a massive release on Razor-n-Tape in 2015 (and slight change of moniker), the ever-mysterious Tom delivers a 3-song EP of breezy disco grooves inspired by his recent cruise of the islands.

On Theme Song from Deep Cock, Tom double-teamed with Deep Sang (of the Sol Power All-Stars). The tag-team duo came up with a tight and groovy title sequence for a film that will likely never see the light of day.

Look at Me is a moody slice of disco goodness that Tom put together for his now-legendary sunrise sets on the ship.

Make Me Wonder is a warm-weather jam that fills the B-side of the record. A seemingly endless funky groove, it was Tom's secret weapon at his all-day beach parties in port. He tells us he can't wait to play it at outdoor jams in his new home of Brooklyn, NY (and at Fire Island soirees this summer).

Large Music continues to showcase the brilliant and creative work of early 90s artists Black Ice with a re-issue of one of the most sought after early Chicago House releases- the Union Camp EP. Originally released in 1993 on the historic Night Club Records, Large Music has now licensed the tracks exclusively for a worldwide vinyl-only release. While all four tracks possess that classic raw Chi-town Soul vibe, it is Track 1, Men on Drums, that has garnered the most attention. Championed the last few years by respected Berlin-based DJ Zip, many of the elite vinyl-only DJs across the globe have sough out a clean copy of this very rare wax masterpiece.
