Bristol based 'Arkist' has always been a versatile producer and as a result has an impressive rage of releases under his belt, with revered imprints such as Hotflush and Hypercolour. Recently he has been experimenting further in the studio and is ready to present his first 12inch in few years, under a brand new alias - Astrocat.In this debut, self-titled EP it is instantly apparent that vocoder-infused funk and disco of the highest order can be expected from this new Astrocat guise. The EP is full of vintage talk box vocals, warm spacey chords and infectious basslines that bring classic records from the likes of Zapp and The Rah Band into mind.With 5 tracks this EP has a lot to offer. Wether it be the raw, funked up james of the opener 'Small Talk' and title track 'Astrocat' or the more chilled, woozy grooves of 'Nightflare'. With features from Mr Woodnote and a dub remix from Appleblim this EP's roots sit firmly in the South West. Local legend DJ Die even lent his vocoder to the studio for some of the recordings.

Hudd Traxx first release of 2016 comes from Parsian House Don Chris Carrier after the label had a big year in 2015 with their 10th Anniversary. Back to business then and no messing around on this one as Carrier delivers 4 slices of gloriuosly crafted House Music with something to please everyone. 'Cycle Psycho' is a raw house groove that filters the main hook up and down throughout the track accompanied by heavy beats reminscent of early Cross Section releases. 'Dimension 5' is a cheeky Acid number that Carrier has done so well in the past and he delivers here once again with this. Flip for the B Side and find more groovy head nodding material with 'Smoke And Flesh'. Tough beats and a trippy vocal with various hits make this one a sure fire future hit. Chris rounds things up nicely on B2 with a sleezy deep one for the heads entitled 'Flying Sausage'. 2016 looks set to be another good one for Hudd Traxx HQ.

This is an exciting one for us, it has to be said. We're nearing our 200th Freerange release and in that whole time there's only been one rissue of a previously available track, that being Blackjoy's 'Untitled'.

Almost ten years on and it's time to indulge ourselves once more by presenting you with two of our all time favorite house tracks, which incidentally both happen to be by Chicagoans Hula, Maurice Joshua, Martell Steward and Craig Simpkins - better known as Da Posse. Many of you will probably know 'In the Heat Of The Night' which was released on Future Records in 1988 and some of you might even have a copy on vinyl. If so then good for you because the original is currently changing hands for serious money because somewhat strangely there don't seem to have been any obvious edits or white labels of these particular Da Posse tracks and certainly no official re release on vinyl or digital. We hope you agree that with club music like this sounding every bit as mind blowing today as it did in 1988 it seems only right to help introduce such innovative, influential and timeless music to a wider audience.

Opening up the release we have the Vocal Mix of 'In The Heat Of The Night' in all it's raw, stripped back beauty. In our opinion this has to be right up there at the pinnacle of Chicago house from the late 80's and certainly managed to make a huge impact four thousands miles away in Essex where Tom and myself discovered it aged seventeen. You only have to listen to tracks such as Steffi's Yours to hear the profound influence of tracks like this on modern house music.

Flipping over we have the more laid back, late night affair known as In The Life in it's Keys Mix incarnation. This one gives a nod to Da Posse's counterparts over in Detroit with a rolling DX bassline but balancing out the cold, metallic minimalism with warm, soulful pads and chiming melodies. It's very easy to see how much of an impact this early 90's gem had on UK producers like Future Sound Of London and 808 State even though it went relatively under the radar at the time of its release.

We really hope you enjoy these amazing tracks and supporters can look forward to fresh re edits from The Black Madonna, Parris Mitchell and Jimpster coming very soon.

If mega-psychedelic tripping house excursions are your thing then it's entirely possible that Derrick Carter's Sound Patrol Orchestra may have exactly what you need. No exaggeration. 'Tripping among the stars' indeed. The 'other' version of this jam lifted from the 'Sweetened - No lemon' LP from 1994 is maybe a little better known, but these mixes right here are worthy of all your attention too! 3 non-stop funk excursions into the cosmos with Derrick and Co. joining you and guiding you with their cosmic voices. It's hard to pick a favourite as all included are very different beasts yet somehow essential. Honestly, this EP kinda shits on most things that you may hear currently and this stuff is from 1997. The 'Still trippin' mix is definitely a standout, a free, weaving, 12 minute plus colliding jam that just opens up and evolves real lovely, exactly the kind of record you want to hear around 7am on a smoky dance-floor somewhere. Pure after hours perfection. The other mixes are just as potent, with a heavy cowbell laden DC dub mix that's brimming over with live drums and handclaps and a superb bass laden Wamdue Kids mix that takes off into the stratosphere of deep. Basically, this whole record has it covered. Literally, it shouldn't leave your bag anytime soon. Essential new (old) school Chicago gear that just won't quit. Thank the heavens we all get the chance to trip again with this beautiful repress! Essential.

Elliot Adamson knows how good he is, which is equally as daunting as it is impressive.
I've known him since he was the eager beaver Barman at a place I'd play regularly in my hometown, who used to try and stick his demos under my nose, and now he seems poised for world domination with a who's who of the worlds biggest DJs singing his praises.
I'm so pleased I listened to those demos when I did.
Elliot has a startling breadth and depth of taste for someone of such tender years (although to be honest, people only mention other peoples youth when they feel like they're getting old themselves).
The EP Elliot has provided for Me Me Me covers a range of vibes which can be traced through mid 90s house, millennial techno and that current and contemporary feel that we're all still struggling to name adequately.
Elliot is a real talent and I couldn't be happier to provide a platform for what I feel is his most esoteric work to date, and a worthy showcase of his real capabilities.

Following up last years well received The Smoke Clears, John Daly returns to the label under another alias - West 2 West which was debuted on Jheri Tracks Vol 1. Equally as atmospheric as the ethereal Smoke Clears, this project is the result of his ongoing hip hop obsession. MPC workouts inspired by current listening, the result isn't quite hip hop, but sits nicely in the all city beat discography. Snilloc takes things a slightly funkier vibe with a grooving baseline, clever staccato synth stabs and a big brass horn making this a dance floor must have. Next up is Josh Butler with a hypnotic heads down groove.
Berlin star Sante emerges with quality a deep, dark mix. Showcasing his excellent production skills and a clever percussive groove.

"Black Vinyl label boss Alan Russell first met Kerri when Alan was writing for ECHOES magazine and Kerri was signed (by A&R man Johnnie Walker) to Champion Records in the UK. Alan was interviewing Dee Dee Brave at a hotel in West London as part of the promotion for her album on Champion which was released in 1991. Alan was already familiar with Kerri's work such as 'Superlover' and 'Set If Off' and with his productions on Movin Records, so asked about Kerri and when told that he was also in London as part of the Dee Dee's tour, the two met and began talking. Kerri was slightly surprised that Alan knew all of his early releases and the two bonded. They met again in New York when Alan was attending the NMS (precursor to the WMC in Miami) and stayed in touch. Years later when Alan had started Black Vinyl the two met again and Alan asked if Kerri would do something for his label. Kerri soon delivered a DAT containing these three tracks. The track 'My Old Friend' was originally titled 'For My Old Friend Alan', which Alan shortened so it would look better on the label! The rest, as they say, is history

With spring well and truly in the air and party season in step, Mosaic Records boss Steve O'Sullivan launches Mosaic's 38th release - joining forces with fellow Londoner Frazer Campbell for a new studio collaboration.

Not content with letting the dust settle from his recent work alongside Ricardo Villalobos, O'Sullivan has stayed a little closer to his London home to work with Frazer Campbell for this latest tag team effort. A dextrous hand in the mix and producer in his own right, Campbell has a passion for all things that sit on the deeper end of the house, techno and electronica spectrum. In his own words, thought emoting music is central to his mission having launched Open Recordings and Elliot Project Records last year: a worthy sparring partner indeed.

Since the start of the year, the pair had their heads down focusing on finding a happy medium between deeply swung grooves and the airy influences of Detroit - shaking out an interesting trio of tracks for their label debut. Far from treading the obvious path, the main event A1 'Hypnotonic' revels in a lighter touch as metronomic beat programming cycles endlessly to a held set of notes. Off-kilter bass pulses, warped out vocals and effect splashes all intersect to keep the energy input constant as they capture one of those less frenzied moments where the very notion of time seems to hold still. Make no mistake, this is a slow burn vibe.

Head to the flipside B1 'Soultonic' to plunge yourself straight into hip twitching mode when the lights go down. A deep chord, syncopated hats and deftly tweaked synths echo as a full dose of shuffle inflicts its move. Simple yet so effective, this track will not let you down. Winding things back up a touch, the tougher edge of 'Alleyway Funk' pushes the feeling on thanks to a thumping kick and a deft nod towards UK Garage. Met with a soft glisten of a Rhodes piano and tweakish melody, the pair round things off in a boyant mood - fans of Soul Capsule and Schatrax will no doubt agree.
Repeat play of this EP is recommended as its all the more rewarding for it.

From Brussels comes Cleveland, born in Luxembourg from an Italian family, Andrea Mancini, a 28 years old music producer has been behind releases on John Talabot's Hivern Discs, Oskar Offermann's White, Munich's Permanent Vacation (and others).
Cleveland is able to enthral and captivate his audience, putting influences from various genres into one smooth hypnotic, adventurous and personal journey. Built around warm tones of analog synths, esoteric atmospheres and percussive drums, Cleveland's
productions have an overall dreamy feel without losing its dance floor focus. He arranges every sound and movement to work in fluid harmony, gently lifting dance floors off the ground before they realise they're floating. He will release two new EPs in summer 2017.

This amazing EP from Dubsons has an amazing analog sound with a mixture of tracks. We have a bouncey groovey track, a driving housey track and an underground minimal dark room track. All these tracks have had amazing support from the likes of Rhadoo, Petre Inspirescu, Nu Zau and lots more. This EP has been in the pipeline for some time and is still doing the rounds at various events and festivals with the big boys. Burghez has an irie, creepy feel which would go down well at any after hours or main time set and is our personal favourite here at Trapped Ldn.

The dust settles on the inaugural release... We immediately swipe the dust away and prepare a triple-shot salvo from FYI Chris: two west friends from around the way. Tracks informed by times spent on the shore, in fields by moonlight with moonshine and in the line for some midnight scran. Pass some time and the peace pipe with this bundle of audio from PECKHAM, LONDON. (°)

Russian duo Gamayun, known for releases under the Udacha label, make their way to Hesperian Sound with 4 jazz-laced live grooves. Occupying a space between tropical Balearic and moody Deep House, this EP offers both rich melody and rhythmic excellence in tandem. The lead off track "Golden Ratio" harkens to the past with its ornamented theme and classically inspired strings, while "Ascension" chugs forward, bringing along sweet piano and synth riffs. On the flip, "Untitled" is dubbed out melancholic perfection as "Uvolnenie" closes with shuffling techno followed by a mellow bow out.

Entitled the 'Let's Move EP', it features two superb deep house numbers in the trademark I Gemin style - chunky, hypnotic and soulful.

We were big fans of both tracks here at PFT HQ so we got head honchos YSE and Goshawk on remix duties. YSE reversions 'It's about Trust' in a tougher, trackier style with some Mood II Swing-esque spoken word vocal

On the flip Goshawk gets his talons into 'Let's Move' upping the tempo slightly and adding a bumping bassline whilst keeping the soulful vibe intact.

The world has changed rapidly since Lali Puna released Our Inventions in 2010, a fact that is also reflected in the band's fifth album, Two Windows. Written and produced over almost two years, these twelve new songs meet those changes head-on both musically and lyrically.

2soul Remix EP - on remix duty we have a very exciting selection of artists, we are happy to present the interpretations from Martin Landsky (Pokerflat), El Mundo (Bondage-Music) and Mario Aureo (Ritter Butzke Studio).

Nu Era delivers another dose of Deep-Soulful Techno produced by Marc Mac. This Detroit style 4 track EP is backed with genre-fused science, analogue machines woven together by chords, melodies and beats we've come to expect from Nu Era, at times the string laden 4hero sound is synonymous throughout the four tracks and although synthetic still full of emotion. The Vinyl release is a lovely transparent red and an animated label design is a nice bonus, limited to 300 copies.

Coming from Geneva (Switzerland) but "napoletano" by heart, Pascal Viscardi is a new face in the deep-house panorama. The 31 years old fellow started his career (as a producer) a few years ago with 2 twelve inches on "The Exquisite Pain", including remixes from some heavy weights : Mark E, Session Victim and Agnes.
For his debut on "Frole Records", Pascal kicks in with a single track. "The Warmest Color" is the kind of cut you might play when the sun shows up and the bodies are ready for the slower and sexiest loops. In a totaly "Modern Swiss Vibe" (Did you say Agnes...) this double kicked tune offers you a straight, extra-shuffled, moodygritty and dubby moment. Is this Love at first sight! Yes, it is...
Our new friend didn't come alone, chosing carefully his remixers to complete your wax in a most accurate way.
On the A side - together with Pascal's "Original Swiss Swing"- we're proud to present you the greek berliner : Kindimmer. If you ask Ralph Lawson (2020 Records), the boss could tell you how talented the young dude is... At least, his record on the inconic label proves it all. Here on our release, Kindimmer offers a subtle and minimalistic approach to satisfy all your germanic house needs.
The B side starts with the german puncher Manooz, well known for his bangers on labels like "Tomorrow is Now Kid!", "Morris Audio", " Housewax ", and more... His version is a devastating big room nugget you should drop if you wanna see your dancefloor burning.
On B2 we have the third remix which comes from a really interesting outsider, our french mate : Toni Be. His releases on "Courtesy Of Balance Recordings", "Soul Notes" and "Rawthenticity" have truely convinced the genre specialists. Concerning his tune : dont look further, here you have the deepest cut of the bunch.

With artists like DJ Nature and Admin taking Boogie Café's "Black" series on a deep house ride, it was high time we brought you the second in our "Neon" series... focusing on new, hot-of-the-press, original disco, rising star Saucy Lady drops a brand new Boogie Banger on you with "Together"; An up-tempo percussion heavy disco treat with U-Key in the mix.
On the flip, Keyboard impresario E. Live goes to work with a sweet and jazzy remix, the way only he knows how. Finished off with an Instrumental to wind the EP to close.
