Crecimiento's first release pairs two titans of the deep house scene. Michel Cleis (Cadenza/Pampa) delivers 'Hey Lady Luck', a driving and percussive garage production based around the 'Lady Luck' vocal from Jamie Woon. And on the remix, Freerange Records headhoncho, Jimpster, weighs in with a solid version, stripped back and hypnotising, he also provides an Instrumental for those who shy away from vocals. 'Hey Lady Luck' has its roots in the Ibiza season of a couple of years back, when Cadenza Records headhoncho Luciano began to play the original acapella over his sets, to rapturous reception. Since then, this fusion has resulted in a handle of unofficial versions, but it's been Michel Cleis who delivers to comprehensive house version of this cut, blending a new vocal delivery from Liam Bailey with a highly infectious, percussive garage vibe. The ring master's voice booms through the arena's speakers. "Ladies and Vagabonds. Round Three just kicked off and both teams seem bent on wrapping this up with brute force. The Good Guys seem to be cornering their malevolent adversaries there, but wait! a swift jab to the jaw and Team Decent hits the canvas" Rising talent Tell (Beat-x-Changers, Banoffee Pies) from Paris handles the opening play for the Good Guys on the third missive of the fledgling Quartet Series imprint. Tell seems to confirm Paris is rapidly reclaiming its former status as a hotbed for raw and moody house music by offering up a delectable blend of lavish chords, distorted sounds and melancholic vocals. Darko Kustura (Pole Jam, What's in the Box) throws in some additional punches for the Good Guys. The Croation beatsmith might not be the most prolific but made a name for himself with an amazing ep on Legendary Sound Research under his Teleskop moniker and treats the crowd to a wobbling groovy baseline and sugary sweet chords. Being Bad can be a good thing sometimes as well. The dark side has cookies, after all. Mancunian Loz Goddard (Dirt Crew, Outplay, Razor-n-Tape) steps out of his comfort zone and delivers a sonic uppercut with a mad piece of swinging acid. Accompanying him on the team is our Hungarian BAL 5000 (SPIEL) who flexes his acid muscle to disorientate and a dubby bass to sedate. The acid is his, but he's willing to share. All in all we'll have a very interesting fight ahead of us. DING DING!

The anticipation between Osunlade releases are experiences in themselves. The high priest of house, his sound legitimizes the unseen spirit world that informs the pulse in every song he crafts. 'Dedication EP' functions like a sound library, a place where you can find indigenous rhythms from around the world, making Osunlade's musical signature both ancient and futuristic. Jazz and global citizenship come through in his latest work, a decade based in Greece and a lifetime submerged in the participation, creation and production of music. With 'Dedication EP', Osunlade boldly presents a mid-tempo meditative musical essay with reflections in the form of everyday conversations and everyday life. These selections meet global feelings of political anxiety with rhythm patterns that bring you closer to the gift of transcendence.
'Unspoken' features poet Rainy Paine and is carried by a piano riff that fills the space between her words. More than a house track, this is up-tempo nu jazz reminiscent of the UK soul movement with an identifiable Yoruba Soul groove. An instrumental version brings us back in to the fold without the vocals, as we witness the skill of what it takes to send this sound to the same place without the lead voice. It still holds the weight of the collaboration, even though this track and the entire album is programmed and arranged by Osunlade himself. 'Unspoken' takes you 'around the world in a day.'
'Give Thanks' is an ode to Mother Earth through the poetry of Said Adelekan. The message is clear; gratitude is as divine as prayer. Musically, Osunlade constructs a minimalist tune with this one allowing the poet to find his way around this jazz fusion inspired sound board.
'Cosmic Signs' offers a beautiful build up into an otherworldly secret life. The sound of children playing beneath the heartbeat of the song reminds of the proximity of joy and pleasure. He works in and teases listeners with the levels giving us his ear as a DJ and his golden touch as a producer. With this track and his playful approach to the levels we here his familiarity with arrangement and even in the song's simplicity you feel the presence of complexity. The thump in this is the seasoned dancer.
'Shoe Shine Man,' uses dialogue as an instrument, voices that hint at working class Mississippi Blues men exchanging stories about love and life. Sampled manipulated voice effects serve as the narrator while the conversations persist and the music keeps us in the pocket.
'People First' speaks to this moment in the world. Music is the weapon of choice that Osunlade uses to navigate hostile terrain whilst spirituality is the base. The tune offers horns and a sparsely dropped hypnotic gong, as people are heard organizing for human rights behind a calming score. This one spells out the depth of the many different colour spectrums of his sound, and a form of musical hybridity that situates him in the position of one of the masters.
For Osunlade, House is a short cut and arguably a limitation considering his range and ability to stretch the genre and the culture. If you allow it, 'Dedication EP' can be the uncategorisable EP that we need to break the mould and grow the art.

Two groovin' Deep House Monsters called 'Keep On' and 'Lovin Me' get's huge Remixes by the official Milky Chance remixer FlicFlac (Lichtdicht Records, Dusted Decks) and the New York originals Grass Is Greener (Nurvous Records)!

Matic Sunset is the debut release by AEVA. The A side boasts a warm loopy drone tangled up with disintegrating percussion. On the other side, 'Octagon' is built on a range of percussive sounds, whilst the aptly named 'Departure' is a beatless synth led piece.

Following on from this year's Hate/Love 12", E. Myers returns with more basement music in the form of 'Untitled'. The original will no doubt appeal to the House slickers that still like to go a little rogue.

For those who wanna get loose, turn to the 'Heat Mix' with it's sprinkling of Miami arriving at just the right season. Rounding it off, for those who always need one more, the 'Beat Mix' is a 4 minute drum middle of the night cap.

First Word are keeping it moving for 2017 and welcoming Kaidi Tatham into the fold, with a firing four-track EP, 'Changing Times'.

Kaidi is a talented multi-instrumentalist that's produced, featured, remixed and performed with an array of artists across numerous genres, jazz, soul, broken beat, hip hop and beyond.

Perhaps best known for his work with Bugz In The Attic, 4Hero and Dego, his accomplished catalogue of musicianship can be heard amongst the likes of Amy Winehouse, Slum Village, Mulatu Astatke, Soul II Soul, Leroy Burgess, Amp Fiddler, Macy Gray, King Britt, DJ Spinna, Gene Harris, Mr Scruff, The Salsoul Orchestra, Kyoto Jazz Massive, Blu, Vikter Duplaix, Nathan Haines, Phil Asher, IG Culture and Eric Lau, to name a fraction.

As a solo entity, there have been two studio albums and an immense catalogue of singles under several aliases, for labels such as Alex Nut's Eglo and Theo Parrish's Sound Signature, additionally to being a revered selector in his own right.

These four tracks exemplify just why Kaidi has garnered such an impressive body of work. From the opening strings of 'Treacle Manifestations' we're on a veritable journey of grooves. Delectable beats and percussion ride throughout, taking us into the nujazz flex of 'Seasoned Clouds'. The tempo drops a notch on the lowslung boogie of 'Chui Nui', and the BPM ramps up again for the heads-down, lights-off bump of 'Shims' to close out the EP. Sweeping synths, dusty rhodes and heavyweight basslines glide effortlessly amidst this 20 minutes of solid dancefloor fire.

Monoloc makes his debut on Hotflush recordings, the label's first release of 2016. Following a recent single on Innervisions and an appearance on Life & Death, his latest offering 'Another Thing' marks a departure into more atmospheric soundscapes.

The murky grandeur of the title track lends itself to moody textures that build in narrative, walking a knife-edge between industrial techno and minimalist dub. 'TrySome' conjures the setting of a dilapidated warehouse rave at 5am, while 'Makeless', with its low-slung percussive elements draped over misty pads and imposing bass, draws the listener further into Monoloc's wormhole.

Following the launch of Prospector, a unique live-label concept, Pit Spector is back with release 02, this time partnering up with the charismatic Dutchman San Proper.

Coining a new concept that pulls together production and performance, 2014 saw Pit Spector throw a series of Prospector parties, each time inviting a guest artist to his studio to work on an exclusive live show for the club, as well as new music for the label. Back in January 2015 Pit and San Proper got together for a string of night-time jam sessions, and now they release the fruits of their labour.

An EP that demonstrates the duo's diversity and freedom in the studio, the mood shifts significantly across the four tracks. 'Pitbull Propercat' instantly grabs your attention, a raw and dancey number full of bounce and animalistic growls - a fitting vocal for San who's previously been dubbed 'The Animal' following a vivacious feline-impersonating DJ performance. Moving unexpectedly but pleasingly down-tempo, 'Sleepwalk Your Sexdreams' takes you on a journey into the night, transcending reality and into the wanderings of the mind... tranquil, mesmerizing, lustful. Flip over for a hard hit of House, or Street House if you will, 'Time 2 Rumble' motivates the body with an undeniable Hip Hop influence. Rounding off with a leap outside the box and a positively psychedelic Pop sound, 'Vaporize' oozes Rock N Rock glamour with deep guitar strums and a fabulously sexy vocal once again from San. Truly testament of the pair's synergy in the studio and confidence to experiment in their productions.

Once again the vinyl includes the corresponding Prospector party poster - original artwork by street art legend O'clock of the New York 156 graffiti crew, who, inspired by the energy of 80s block parties, offers a raw and colourful manifestation of the music.

After making a great impression with its first EP, Giant Records serves up a second hot helping of house music from boss man Grant Dell, complete with fresh remixes by Scottish techno stalwarts Silicone Soul.
Dell, also known as Chicago Transit Authority, has been doing his do for 25 years now. As a DJ he is at home in clubs in Ibiza and Barcelona as well as around the rest of Europe, and is someone who always prefers to push his own brand of widely infused and influenced music than his own profile.
Once again here he comes up trumps with the emotive, glowing house cut 'In Your Mind'. With a neat bassline and mid tempo house drums, subtle but effective synth smears add warmth and colour to the groove, whilst soul fuelled vocals add a real sense of personality. This is sure to get people grooving at any hour and comes with Grant's own Space Echo remix. As the title suggests it's a more dubby and reverb rich affair with cosmic signifiers and sci-fi vibes pervading from start to finish.
Silicone Soul need little introduction having been at the heart of real deep house and techno for decades on the Soma label. Their first remix is a Darkroom Dub - named after their own label - and is a seductively slo-mo and lazily unfolding house cut with languid synths that really suck you in. Their lush Hypnohouse Mix is then a twinkling, late night bit of melodically rich deep house with starry skies twinkling above sombre chords.
This is a patiently served but hugely alluring EP that is stuffed with plenty of tender feeling. One again then, both Grant and Giant have come up with the goods.

Our first release on is/was comes courtesy of Detroit's own Dwayne Jensen. For those in the know, Dwayne requires no introduction. Behind the decks since the 80's, Dwayne has carved himself a spot in the history books of Detroit house and techno. He's equally accomplished in the studio with releases on KMS, Dockside, Landed and his own Fathom Records imprint. Respected by his techno peers and his Detroit inspirations alike, Fabrice's music is always full of funk and emotion. These two qualities are very much in demand in WPH circles, so it was only a matter of time before Fabrice joined the family.
On 'Border 2 Border' Fabrice brings us two tracks, the title track funkin' and swingin' like nothing else and with a big dose of Motor City chords, making for a true mental dancefloor anthem. Word has it that label boss Red D wrote lyrics on the spot when he heard this one out loud...so who knows what's coming in the near future... A spacey melodic grower! Shahrokh Dini produced both tunes in teamwork with Beanfield and Michael Reinboth in Munich.

Purveyor to the house royals and regalness, Shahrokh has got an atttracted widespread support througout his long long career as a DJ and true house producer. Not so many peeps may know that he had releases on Strictly Rhythm back in the days (late 90s) and with a boast of enviable releases on Compost Black Label he was supported by Amé, Ron Trent, Jimpster, Dimitri From Paris, Rainer Trueby, Sasse, Laurent Garnier and many many others.
By the way, Shahrokh Dini is not only a house producer and DJ, he is running clubs since the mid 90ties, frequently he promotes club-music events, he has various DJ residencies, and recently he opened a new club called - Monk' in his hometown Karlsruhe.
