JaX DaX returns with another EP of dark and epic Rave-Techno on the Magic Waves label. Four cuts of guaranteed dancefloor devastation, from the in-your-face energy blast of 'JaX '91' to the tweaked-out sensory stimulation of 'Proto' on Side A to the political commentaries of the mayhemic sample-heavy anthem 'Phreedom' and the dark and delirious synth stabs of 'Revenge Of The Scallies' on Side B this is a record no DJ can afford not to pack. Releasing an album is a daunting task, especially in dance music.
You got to keep it fresh and exciting from the very beginning until the last track, not sticking to one tempo, make tracks that work both at home and in the club and ultimately tell a story with your music.

Alexander Lay-Far knows a thing or two about this, having his debut album 'So Many Ways' out back in 2013. The thing with Lay-Far and a big reason why we've always had a soft spot for him is his way of incorporating a certain magic in the tracks that leaves you on an uplifting and optimistic note. Therefore we're really excited to release his second album, How I Communicate, on Local Talk.

How I Communicate is a two part vinyl release which we hope will come as a fresh breeze in these days where so much dance music simply lacks the actual musical aspect or the organic approach.
Like most producers and DJs that are influenced by soul, disco, jazz and the blacker side of electronic dance music its all about the actual 'tune'.
Listening (or dancing) through this album we hope you'll find your special tune (or tunes!) that hopefully will bring joy to your ears.

To his aid Lay-Far has invited an impressive cast of collaborators such as Ashley Beedle & Darren Morris, Restless Soul, Sean McCabe & Mark De Clive-Lowe to give the tracks that little extra something under the watchful eye of Lay-Far himself.

Bucketround presents the eighth EP written and produced by Manuel Costela, 3 tracks and the remix of Tominori Hosoya (Japan) inspired by Japanese Middle Ages, when mythological monsters wake up from the Deep.

"Omibozu (Original version)" is a trip of rhythms and percussion in the middle of a survival battle in the purest sound of American deep house style. "When Craken Show Up" provides us with a delicious fragrance and textures from the reefs, mixing feelings with the voice of the composer. "Omibozu remix" is the powerful touch of Tominori Hosoya "Tomi Chair" (HQ Pressing-Japan) and the dance floor face of the monster directly from Pacific ocean. "Tentacles Of The Deep" is the relaxing movement of the EP, from the caves of the darkness and naughty voices of Andrea Rocha to enter the depths mixed with Manuel Costela's piano.

The fourth series of 'Silent Movie Sounds' opens with beautiful house tune by Nemanja Krstic, producer of the memorable track 'Novi Beograd' on the ninth 'My Love Is Underground' release. Queen of Deep House, Lady Blacktronika also features on A side with a slow jam with Japanese influence. Speaking of the Land of the Rising Sun, opening the B side of RHR 012 is Yoshiki Tsuchiya aka Miruga, who already was part of the label on RHR 006 with his compatriots. Seal Bient, producer from Yekaterinburg makes his vinyl debut with the mesmerizing track 'Slavery'.

Outplay's newest project is a special 10" vinyl release with 2 tracks by artist New Franklin Theory.
The name was inspired by a past in Midwestern USA.
As to who is behind the project, some ears might pick up the resemblance to another artist you all know well. Digging into his past is the main inspiration behind New Franklin Theory's two-tracker.Expect two uptempo percussion filled melodic tracks with a slight afro-inspired tropical vibe.

Incredible repress of Rick Wilhite's 2004 EP on Chicago's StillMusic imprint. This one's got it all!
Pure Detroit beatdown house music, featuring some stellar remix and production work from the legendary Delano Smith too! 'City Bar Reopen "Live" Dancing' is the opening track, a down-low, funk drenched late night mover that's full of soul with killer vocals from the amazingly monikered Billy Beemer. This one's a cult track, underground House music for dancers! 2 mixes of 'Magic water' also appear on this essential 12", a collabo between Rick and Delano which is all that needs to be said really! As you can imagine this one is deep - a subdued groove that slowly blooms and unfolds until you're totally locked in and it's too late! All in all, a timely reissue of a mid 2000's classic 12" overflowing with Rick Wilhite's unique style and flow, a truly underrated producer who doesn't flood the market with average releases, so you know quality control is high on this one!

Futureboogie spring straight into action in the New Year with a killer single from the much loved German producer, Lauer. As one half of Tuff City Kids (with Gerd Janson), as well as flying solo with two albums on Permanent Vacation, Phillip Lauer has been producing since the turn of the millennium. A cohesive and highly active output of music has come on labels like Running Back, Beats In Space and Brontosaurus amongst many others.
His single for Futureboogie pulls together two outstanding productions; 'Birsk' is a pacey and unrelenting beast of a house tune, its bassline expanding bigger than the waistlines over the Xmas period whilst the meaty drums and snare rolls escort in further melodic touches and delirious automation on its synth riff.
'Kilian' comes more leisurely in pace but no less effective. A choir-like pad underpins the frenetic energy mustered up by Lauer, again adopting a heavyweight bassline against the nimble melodies and the buoyant vibes offered up here. With a supreme sonic gloss and 'never fails' piano motif, 'Kilian' works wonders on every level and will no doubt be ringing all of speaker stacks for some time to come.

Capital Bass continues to gather Russian names under one roof and expand stylistic variations. Next big thing is a three-track EP from Ponty Mython (Alex).
This is the second EP by sir Ponty Mython on Capital Bass. It has been two years since his bulletproof Jesus EP in 2013.
During these two years Ponty Mython has been working with such iconic house imprints as Arma, Quintessential, Dirt Crew and others. His new Adverbs EP is a quite eclectic thing.
Side A is a filtered house banger Gracefully - a result of sampling games with Moscow house star Lay-Far (Local Talk, In-beat-ween). Side B - Afterwards tune is a real one-loop thriller, dirty and raw, with African samples and invisible sub bass line.

The Lunes De Fiel compilation kicks-off with an extended uptempo trapped-in-a-maze hysteria; set in a psychedelic 90's Norwegian remake of Potemkin in the harbor of Bergen. In the woods of woody Lithuania it continues with a road movie starring a young smugglers couple and arguably the most legendary love scene in film history. The story ends at night with a director's cut of a downhill Indiana Jones on LSD fighting hungry alligators at the riverside of the Elbe valley. A definite must have on the new Bitter Moon imprint!

One of house music's true originators, Todd Terry was first discovered by pioneering New York house imprint Fourth Floor Records. Now the label has collected four of his earliest and most essential productions on to one 12' vinyl. The A-side houses a pair of tracks created under his Black Riot alias in 1988, both featuring his trademark raw, jacking drums. The unmistakable rave stabs on 'A Day In The Life' were to reappear on countless hardcore records - testament to the track's influence - whilst the cut-and-paste sample patchwork of 'Warlock' defines the house sound of that era. Meanwhile, the B-side features two tracks as Masters At Work, a moniker that Todd would later pass on to his friends 'Little' Louie Vega and Kenny 'Dope' Gonzalez. Both 'Alright Alright' and 'Dum Dum Cry', originally released in 1987, exhibit Terry's musical roots, combining hip-hop breakbeats, powerful electro-funk and playful freestyle melodies in his inimitable style.

A mainstay in the underground house music scene for almost twenty years, Joeski makes his next move on the mighty Crosstown Rebels with a sublime 'Tribute EP' to the great divinity Obatalá.
The EP journeys through three tracks, where ethereal layers are used to infiltrate the dancefloor and varying tribal percussions, native chants and vocal haunts flow effortlessly throughout. From Yoruba religion, Obatalá is an Orisha, Sky Father and creator of human bodies. Joeski explains "I've been wanting to do this tribute for a while now. It's a creative musical offering to Obatalá. I feel like Crosstown is the perfect home for it too."
Joeski's roots are in the underground house scene of NYC in the 90s, where he played regularly at historical clubs such as The Limelight, Tunnel, Palladium and Roxy. Later establishing himself as a producer he began releasing music on NRK, Siesta, Shaboom, Tango, Junior Boys Own and many more. He also runs his successful label, Maya Records.

The 3rd Mode of Expression release includes fresh cut's from Kashawar & Paul Walter. Two original tracks and a collab work together, a selection of perfekt tunes for the late summer Moments. As usuall selfprinted cover and 180gr vinyl.

Brothers Danny and Kieran Clancy continue their run of highly infectious, club-centric singles, releasing once again on their own Krankbrother imprint which has built up a consistent catalogue of music since the label's inception in 2015.

'Dreamscape' may share the name of legendary 90s raves, but here, Krankbrother lay out an understated house groove driven by its melodious bass and supple chords. Gradually picking up the energy by deploying contagious acid lines, celestial vocal refrains, and ramping up the drums with crisp open hats and transposing rides, it's a feel good track and mood lifter of the highest order.

Hotly tipped producer, Fort Romeau, is enlisted on remix duties, off the back of stellar singles, remixes and albums for the likes of Futureboogie, Spectral Sound, Running Back and Ghostly International. Rolling house beats get wrapped up in those gorgeous pads as the remix takes on a transcendental twist as the 303s worm around the arrangement, the hushed female vox providing a big wall of succulent sound that provides a great alternate take on the original mix.

A respectful nod to the past is ever present in the Krankbrother's productions, but with a production aesthetic that keeps things fresh and relevant for the most discerning of modern dancefloors. This is most evident in 'Disappear Here'; lush and ample pads set a familiar tone as high strings and a nimble lead riff usher in a killer breakbeat, accentuated with a contagious bassline and sub bass booms. Sun rising vibes if ever there was!!

"Freda & Jackson's 'MSH002' is the second offering from Sydney's Moonshoe Records and their first EP on the label as a duo. In 2016 the two beat-makers burst onto the scene and further-introduced the label with a pair of singles; 'Persius' & 'Sumluv' to a warm response at home and abroad. MSH002, although predominantly house-cuts, sees the pair draw largely on their hip-hop influences with a heavy use of sample chops and and raw percussion. The 5-track maintains an emotional undertone of sadness from front-to-back while each tune holds up as a stand-alone journey"

Debut EP from In Any Case co-founder, after several appearances on various artists. It was time for him to express himself on a full EP. True gear digger and scientist of the dusty beats, G2S delivers a very nice 5 track EP including two astonishing hip hop beats for opening and closing.

The Gravity Groove label was born from a party of the same name in Southern Italy. As that
turned four years old, so they kicked off the imprint which now hits release number three with
a five track effort from Groove Squared featuring remixes from Darren Price and Sam Pauli.
Active since the 90s, Groove Squared has done everything from space funk to pop to nujazz
and nowadays focusses purely on club grooves that make you move. Often hitting the top of
download charts and releasing on the likes of Trapez ltd, Traum & Engrave ltd, he is an ever
more regular name at top clubs around the world from Tresor to Sonar.
His latest release opens with title track 'The Ground', an epic house cut with spaced out
synths and electronics colouring the smooth rolling drums. Filled with main room drama, it is
a standout cut for sure. Remixer Darren Price is best known as being the tour DJ turned key
member of legendary dance duo Underworld. He uses all his knowledge of time on the road
and in the studio with that outfit to serve up an old school mix that retains the original's sense
of melodic colour and proggy intentions whilst layering in some loose limbed and driving
house drums that really take it up a level.
'Breathe' is next and is another classy tune that takes its time in really sweeping you off your
feet with smooth hits, grand melodic patterns and real musicality. When some arcing, tender
female vocals come in the whole thing really soars. DJ, producer and co-founder of Chapter
24 Records Sam Pauli then remixes this one with a gentle, undulating groove. The vocals
remain but are more detached and dreamy and the whole thing percolates with a real sense
of late night and spiritual energy.
Last of all, 'Howl' finishes things off in resplendent fashion with gorgeous chords, melodies
and bass notes all coming together with an angelic vocal that is sure to lend a celestial and
heavenly feel to any DJ set.
This is a stunning EP filled with seductive and mature sounds that mark another great
release for Gravity Groove.

RON TRENT returns on the MUSIC AND POWER imprint with the first lift off on the AIR (AFRICAN INDIGENOUS RHYTHMS) series to be released on MAP. Both of the tracks "THE DAWN" and "POWER MOVEMENT" are cinematically and carefully crafted to blend ethereal melody into strong percussive rhythm.

After sending out these tracks last summer and getting great reactions from DJs and dancers alike, Hell Yeah is pleased to finally officially release virtuoso musician Verdo's Little Blue EP, complete with a remix from Lauer. Fully remastered for vinyl, the likes of Lexx, Chris Coco, Soft Rocks, Leo Mas and many more have all be playing these tunes with great results.

The talented Verdo runs the famous Gratis Club in Senigallia on the Italian east coast. It is a place he calls home, and that has really allowed him to hone and sharpen his DJ skills so that now he is a slick, unpredictable and singular DJ with many tricks up his sleeve. Bjorn Torske, DJ Fettburger, Prins Thomas, Kenji Takimi, Glenn Underground and more have all played there in the last decade and Verdo himself is a skilled pianist who has played for Zero7 singer Mozez in the past. He has worked with Hell Yeah before now, as well as releasing on Danny Was A Drag King, and here serves up his biggest bit of dance floor dynamite to date, including his previously digital only cut 'Big Fish' (mixed by DJ Rocca).

Opener 'Little Blue' is a perfectly sunny track with hip swinging claps, bobbling bass and boat party vibes that soothe your soul. Rich with instrumentals and golden synth lines, it's a perfect beat that gets followed up by the retro disco pump of 'Sazerac', another tropical cut with loose drums and rubbery bass to get you up on your toes.

The massive 'Big Fish' then hits hard with its tin pot percussion and wild synths all making you flail your arms like you just don't care. Jumbled jungle vibes and big chords all swell your heart as your feet skip about down low.

Closing out the package is Phillip Lauer (Tuff City Kids), one of the most in demand stars of the day, and his version is a direct house jam with percolating and rugged synths and slapping hits, all demanding you ditch your cocktail and get up and groove.

What can be said about LNR's "Work it to the bone" Another slamming piece of Chicago House history brought to us by the dynamic duo of Larry Thompson and Rick Lenoir (LNR - Larry N' Rick) of the cult House Jam label. This is some straight 1987 HEAT, real House music for the heads, from the very beginning! "Work it to the bone" does exactly that, works every single part of your body into a frenzy, a cacophony of jacking sparse drum programming with that infamous descending bassline and that dude chanting, asking us to join him "C'mon let's work!" This record is a total classic. Period. Featured on this official 2016 reissue we have 4 mixes of this monolithic slab of machine funk that originally came out on various pressing between 1987 - 1989: The vocal mix, the instrumental, LNR clubhouse remix and the LNR underground mix. n a sense, this is "the complete" collection of this cornerstone of Chicago House. The full set. All audio has been lifted from Rick Lenoir's private collection of reel to reel tapes from his basement and remastered accordingly. This reissue has been realised with the full involvement of Thompson & Lenoir and is 100% legit! Don't snooze, this one deserves a spot in any self respecting House heads record bag or DJ set, classic material made available again for 2016 - House is going on!

Canadian Paolo Rocco kickstarts the New Year with his Judgement EP on Hot Creations. The first release of 2017 is an international affair, with Manchester born Trevino and one of the most spoken names of last year, Greece native Detlef on remix duties.
Initially making a name for himself through his DJing skills back home in Montreal, Paolo's productions entered the market in 2012 with instant international support. His releases on Real Tone, One Records, Saved and others were all met with high acclaims as were the compilations he mixed for Defected and Get Physical. The creation of, 'Judgement' and 'That's It' prove Paolo truly understands what works on the dance floor.
2016 saw Detlef reach new heights whilst also debuting on Hot Creations with his 'Kinky Tail' EP. He returns to the label with a devastating edit of 'Judgement' and his rolling signature sound.
Trevino aka Marcus Intalex ramps up the EP with his remix, centred around shimmering high hats and a freaky groove. A champion of how a DJ can achieve success in two different genres, Trevino has released on several of the most praised drum & bass and techno labels for a number of years.
