YokoO has been slowly gaining a well deserved reputation for quality the past few years. Already playing our events and an integral part of our family he first featured one of his productions on last Summer's sampler. Finally his own solo release sees the beautiful light of day. Each track perfectly crafts an atmosphere. Each a story unto itself. YokoO enlists friend and multi talented artist Retza to add an extra layer of emotion to his already complex musical compositions. The result A three track EP to not only send you soaring in to space at certain moments but also, at he same, time have you explore organic musical jungles, oceans and deserts of our world and others yet discovered. No one is really sure what that means exactly so why not let the music describe itself.

The first lady of underground music Hannah Holland makes her debut on Crosstown Rebels with Fade To Me featuring her long standing collaborator, friend and fellow Londoner, Josh Caffe. Cult favourites Tuff City Kids aka Gerd Janson & Philip Lauer step up with a remix and dub to complete this stellar collection.
Having met on the dancefloor at one of Damian Lazarus's parties in the early 00's, Holland and Caffe bring their signature sound, which they describe as 'sleazy as hell!' With a career in underground dance music spanning over a decade, Holland is a lady who understands what works. With her experience and Caffe's vocals, Fade To Me is for those who long to be absorbed in the music.
German duo Tuff City Kids provide a tight remix that ups the tempo and twists the sound into their own, and conclude the EP with a sublime dub version. Having previously remixed Azari & III, Avalon Emerson, Sven Väth and Scuba to name a few this is a duo that are revered by their peers.
DJ, producer and founder of the labels Batty Bass and Native City, Hannah Holland is a solid figure within the underground dance scene. Earning her stripes through early London residencies at Trailer Trash and Dalston Superstore, she has since toured the world, had a monthly show on NTS and released on Nervous Records, Get Up Recordings and Classic among others.
Josh Caffe is an assured figure within the scene, having been a vocalist for numerous house and techno releases, DJ'ed at some of the biggest festivals, resident and founder of Night Sheen whilst also producing his own music.

Promo's, edits, mega-mixes, the record pools, white labels, acetates, reel to reels.
All of the above were the weapons of choice for the disc jockey's of yesteryear, utilising these tools helped various luminaries pave the way for where we are today on the modern dance-floor. Those 'secret' mixes, 'private' versions and edits of the hottest Disco jams that only the select few had access to could make or break a DJ's reputation in the clubs and on the streets.
It is within this world that the For Discos Only label operates, sourcing the finest underground edits and mixes for the Discotheques. We carefully hand pick and dig for obscure or forgotten versions of the best tracks that may have been previously out of reach for the majority, inviting the hottest editors and mixers to open up their archives and share their secret weapons with us all via the medium of the 12" record.
For our debut release we present South London mainstay Medlar. Already a formidable talent behind the decks across the world and widely known through his releases on London's Wolf Music label, he tackles some choice cuts from the mighty TK Disco catalogue and delivers a 4 track EP of remixed tracks and edits utilising various parts, breaks and sounds from a plethora of classic and obscure TK related music. You may find yourself recognising elements of the tracks, but you haven't heard them like this before. Medlar has gone deep into the music and crafted something brand new from cuts that are almost 40 years old through some very clever rearranging and the addition of analogue synths and fresh, contemporary production methods. This whole EP was conceived and recorded across 7 days spent on Reunion Island in the Indian ocean, off the coast of Madagascar.
These versions are completely brand new, designed to remind the dance-floor of where we came from in a respectful, modern fashion. Giving a nod to the pioneers who came before us in the DJ booth. Absolutely essential tracks for the late night dancers. All mixes are 100% legit, licensed and sanctioned. For Discos Only is a BOOTLEG FREE zone. Too legit to quit.

Visionquest returns late May with Mirko Loko's 'Alba Mons' EP, comprising two original
compositions and a remix from Livio & Roby.
Swiss producer Mirko Loko has been releasing material since 2008 via revered imprints such as Loco Dice's Desolat, Luciano's Cadenza, Planet E and Wagon Repair. Here though we see him return to Visionquest his collaboration with Jaw back in 2012 and his track 'Gloria' which featured on the label's 'Fall-Winter Collection' in 2011 when it launched.
Mirko makes a welcome return with the 'Alba Mons' EP and deliver two original cuts in his signature stripped back and hypnotic style, up first is the original mix of 'Evolyon', a seven-minute snaking journey through electronic synth sequences, dynamic and ever-evolving rhythms and subtle background modulations throughout. Romanian duo Livio & Roby step up on remix duties to follow, making their own mark on 'Evolyon' with low-slung crunchy drums, thundering low end pulses and bubbling snippets from the original synth lines billowing away in the depths of the record.
The package is then rounded off with the second original from Mirko, entitled 'The Hutchinson Effect' and embracing an off-kilter percussive feel accompanied by glitched out synth whirrs, sporadic pad swells and a chugging bass groove that ebbs and flows throughout its near nine- minute enchanting groove.

Nancy Azzurro comes out of nowhere. Well, that's not entirely true—Lovefingers met her about 10 years ago on the beach near her home on the island of Sardinia—but in terms of our musical orbit, she is a very private artist, creating only the purest music, straight from the heart. These three gorgeous songs were produced during her young adulthood and would become secret weapons for a handful of DJs she'd meet over the following years. Still standing the test of time today, they're now finally seeing a proper release. Side-A's Grace invites us into Nancy's world where Disco and House collide—the live drums, percussion and bassline hold down a blanket of synth strings and wah-wahs. Halfway through this epic enters a piano hook of the highest order, an emotional rush that brings together everything we love on the dancefloor, guaranteed to induce goosebumps. On side-B, she rounds out the release with the dreamlike, percussive and Yugo-tinged Illustrations & The Large, and closes with the title track Teen Bee, a loopy cowbell-driven dive into the deep, filled with luscious sweeping chords and meandering keys. The ESP Institute is honoured to close out 2016 (one seriously heavy year) with such a beautiful and cohesive release. Thank you and goodnight.

Roman Flügel and Andrew Weatherall supply two outstanding remixes of Phil Kieran recent album 'Blinded By The Sun', which David Holmes claimed is 'one of the best electronic dance inspired records in recent times.'
Mixmag described Phil Kieran as 'one of those producers that impresses with every release' so it comes as no surprise that two music heavyweights have jumped on board for remix duty. Kieran accounts Flügel and Weatherall to both having a heavy influence on his career. German DJ and producer Roman Flügel is easily one of the most revered names in the dance music spectrum. His take on 'No Life' is a masterclass in production. Flügel has created a track that is powerful whilst also superbly intricate. Flügel holds over twenty years of experience, extensively releasing on a number of labels whilst also co-founding Ongaku, Klang and Playhouse Recordings.
UK born DJ and producer maestro Andrew Weatherall remixes 'Finds Love' and reminds the listener of how beautiful electronic music can be. Combining cosmic layers with the ethereal vocal, this is a lesson in what a remix means. Weatherall has been experimenting with techno since the 90s, and well regarded as one of the world's most influential DJs.
Kieran created a ten track narrative in 'Blinded By The Sun', inspired by his experiences in the industry. It was met with high acclaim globally and this remix package further imprints his vision on pioneering imprint Hot Creations.

For our first release of 2017 and number 023 in the FINA catalogue, we are super happy to welcome Finnish producer Saine to the family. Saine has been on our hit list for a number of years and we are delighted to finally be releasing his aptly named 'Mint EP'
Saine delivers 3 classy cuts brimming with hip-hop fused, organic house sound that have always grabbed our attention in the past on labels such as Sleazy Beats, Black Ops, Voyage, Odd Socks and Quartet Series.
The Mint ep continues in the 'Saine vein'(see what we did there) with obscure sample wizardry, thumping straight-to-the-bone beats & wavering analogue synth textures which do not disappoint. It is with great pleasure that we kick off 2017 with a bang & present Saine's 'Mint EP' - this ep is a must !

Off the back of their first EP release, Super Fun Bumper Edition's 'Trends', which received support from the likes of XL8R, Thump, Future Classic, and Bradley Zero, Beats of No Nation is now gearing up for its second release by the Chord Memory Band.
Chord Memory Band is a recent collaboration between Michael Medlycott (from the band Vulture Street Tape Gang) and Dom Bird (BONN co-founder and member of the live disco 4 piece Mitzi).
At the end of 2016, Michael and Dom caught wind of a cave, nestled beneath a sacred mountain, deep in the Australian outback. The rumours described a cave filled with nocturnal animals and ancient flora, but more importantly, a stash of vintage synthesizers and drum machines.
Guided by whispers and caught up in the mystic mystery of it all, the duo set off with a dusty four-track tape recorder in an attempt to capture these mythical cave vibes and place them on a record.
Michael and Dom surfaced several months later, with four recordings and no memory of what had occurred. These recordings became their synergistic 'Third Eye' EP - an analogue journey into the spiritual world, with one simple message, 'the answer is inside'.

'Bout time! Julian Duron and Michael Sherburn are longtime friends and partners in crime; the two marinate, stew, malt in the same spaces as Jacques and Nik—namely Brooklyn's now legendary Bossa Nova Civic Club. Call this kick-off EP a statement of purpose, proof of concept, an illustration of how LPH and E.B. gel perfectly.
The five tracks contained on Myrtle Music, named such in celebration of the Myrtle Avenue JMZ and L train stops in Bushwick, are easy, chilled-out house jams built on stacks of pads from the future and breaks from the past. Weird, ethereal tuneage that feels like the score to a walk through empty allies in a Blade Runner world. (Or, for the anime wonks out there, maybe the Tokyo of Patlabor.)

'Soak by James Hadfield, featuring Danny Linton, is one of the main reasons for the launch of Me Me Me and a record I love so much I have done my first rem ix for the label,' explains Man Power. Further remixes from Axel Boman and Bird Of Paradise cement a stellar third release on the burgeoning Me Me Me imprint.
Soak is a distinct and uncategorisable piece of electronic music, with a rich thread of emotion running through it so strongly, it remains within each remix, albeit distilled in different ways. Fellow North Eastern Englishman Bird Of Paradise (Correspondant / HAKT) turns in two differing atmospheric interpretations of the track (one appearing as a digital exclusive), while Studio Barnhus supremo Axel Boman brings his own inimitable style to his rework, and Man Power's delivers a dreamy and forlorn infusion on this magnetic record.
James Hadfield has been releasing music over the last ten years under several guises including Lizards and Elizabeth Collective, although remains an elusive figure in the bubbling underground house and Balearic scene. Soak sees him teaming up with Danny Linton , best known as post dubstep producer Funk Ethics.
Man Power's ear for the more captivating and experimental side of electronic music is being championing through Me Me Me, putting discerning dance floors to the test through its releases. 2017 contributions include Mike Simmonetti, Chida, Fort Romeau, Hammer, Rex The Dog, Daniel Maloso and many more .
Birdsmakingmachine are back on track and continuing their series in style with BMM 007. Kicking off things on A1, at 124 BPM, The Draft' is a joyful number that bursts with relentless energy while managing to fuse sharp metallic drum patterns with juggling ambient hooks. The more dancefloor-oriented track is nevertheless found on A2. As the title suggests, Area 52' is quite literally a journey through the unknown and mysterious, a metaphor for the deep minimal house Amazon, a track that stands out with an extra subby bassline, swinging hihats and those ever-so-warm sequenced analog pads in the background. Flip the record over and you find yourself with two slightly more industrial affairs, The Voice of Kudha' on B1 offering a breakier alternative than it's predecessors and Zagonity', on B2, galloping its way to close off the record with shuffling vocal hits and an amalgamation of bouncing hats and snares.

Imogen Recordings proudly presents - Presence Mix - that Charles Webster did for future classic " In Her Eyes " that appeared on the label earlier this year.
A Dj. since 93. A producer since 98. A true student of the music/culture. Amir founded Vanguard Sound in February 2006. After making his presence felt in the Chicago club scene via a meteoric rise culminating a Dj watch feature in Chicago's 5 magazine, he completely disappeared and went beneath the underground to focus solely on advancing his production skills.
Soon after linking up with G. Marcell and Hakim Murphy he began to release gritty tracks that have been charted and played by underground Dj's world wide. His fourth release was the sleeper classic 'Experience ep' a 4 tracker with Amir on side a, and G. Marcell on side b.
Encouraged by the feedback, Amir then submitted tracks to New York city's Plan B Recordings. The rest is history as they say.......
Recording under the name Amir Alexander and the pseudonym Guerrilla Soul! this cat strives to bring a raw and gritty modern spin on classic Detroit, Chicago, and New York underground sounds.

Andrew Ryce (Resident Advisor)
"Dazed And Amazed" leaves me pretty Dazed & Amazed... HAR HAR HAR. Love the shuffling
garage percussion, wobbly basslines, vocal samples.. what a dreamy tune. "Everybody's
Beautiful" is the same deal, though a bit more straightforward -- but the bassline, subtly bumping
underneath the drifting beats, and those synths.. I'm melting! Acid Mix is good too, adds a little
bit of oomph but doesn't stomp all over what made the original mix so pleasant. Stellar EP.
Joshua P. Ferguson (Time Out Chicago)
Chicago love! I dug Alexander's release with Argot, and this is just further evidence that he's a
Windy City voice we should be hearing a lot more of.

The young roman artist Emiliano Morini, hidden in the shadows, reaches his individual project second goal. After debuting with his first Ep in the electronic music scene, which also included a collaboration with Ed Frimann (an already known character of the Roman scene) Emiliano shows increased maturity through this refined and elegant work. A not necessarily dancefloor oriented straight cash, combined by extremely pleasent sounds, makes his last Ep also usable for a home listening session. The Ep consists in 4 tracks, each one clearly mirror of a sensitive and deep soul: "Deep Fusion" is a high tension piece with a submerged but impetuous roaring bassline. "Ocean" that could be almost called a Jazz track, full of human presence because of a seem live played ride and a lead that sounds like the result of improvisation. On the B side, we find instead a slightly more "club" dimension, without anyhow the loss of musicality. "Techno mod" is a tribute to the best acid techno surrounded by an amniotic sea of pads. "Vinyl track 2a" portically closes the work with loads of hypnosis and melancholy sounds enclosed in the same box.The young roman artist Emiliano Morini, hidden in the shadows, reaches his individual project second goal.

Two years on from his critically acclaimed self-titled debut LP and 2016's similarly transcendent club hit Safe/Multiply, Ghost Culture is pleased to announce his new EP Nucleus. Due for release on Phantasy, Nucleus, captures the enigmatic London artist's signature sound in the reflection of unexpected, vibrant new lights.
Leading with the understated groove of 'Coma', Ghost Culture quickly reaffirms his unwavering ability to hold the collective energy of a dancefloor, yet colours his latest work with a sense of intimacy and experimentation that resonates stronger than ever.
'ICO130' explores almost every facet of Ghost Culture's electronic form, as gasping synths and stuttering drum patterns flirt with an aching, unfurling emotional vocal sample, acknowledging both classic IDM influences such as Aphex Twin and Authechre, while subtly nodding towards contemporary, crystalline RnB.
The EP's centrepiece, 'NGC1275' adds flavour to a stirring, reflective acid line, amid a complex flurry of minor deconstructions and distortions, highlighting Ghost Culture's unique, contrarian ability to inspire both beckoning darkness and escapist fantasy through his work.
While the opening half of the five track EP is more primed for the night, Nucleus' leads to an introspective denouement. 'Perseus' pits raw electronics against a framework of loose, lucid drums, before 'NGC1265' delivers a wistful, brooding conclusion that makes an emotive case that impacts powerfully across just a short sketch.
Ocobaya's debut features psychedelic house and techno from Washington DC. Raw warehouse weaponry, slinky hypnosis, and fearlessly bent electronics all work in lockstep on this release. Sharp angles and buoyant vibes make for diverse functionality on the dance floor.

"I don't have any plans, I just make music for fun" said the latest addition to the Hypercolour roster, Christopher Rau, in a recent interview. The Hamburg house don's not wrong, either, with his deep and non-linear sounds leading the way on labels like Smallville and Pampa. Here teaming up with friend Tilman Tausendfreund, the pair turns in one effort each, plus two collaborative tracks on their Pea Gravel EP.

Scienceofuse is a new electronic music label from Ljubljana, Slovenia. Its purpose is to transmit futuristic frequencies by using the science of creation to transcend percieved limitations. Connecting the advances in our culture and technology with the important lessons of visionaries that came before us.
The label's first release, 'Responsible Design' by veteran DJ and expert knob-twiddler known as Electronic Badminton King (E.B.King for short) is an acid-tinged affair with a darkish early noughties electro vibe on the A-side, while the flip delivers an abrasive technoid banger coupled with a deeper floating acid cut.

A heavy, heavy remix package here from Hypercolour. Step forward Bonobo, Kowton and Dark Sky, who all contribute stellar remixes of Maya Jane Coles' 'Don't Put Me In Your Box' EP, originally out in 2011. Bristol's Joe Cowton AKA Kowton plucks for 'Parallel Worlds' from Maya's EP to get the once over, opting for a dancefloor-centric re-work. Stripping things right back with big, distorted drums and strobe like percs, the Idle Hands and Livity Sound man affords us with a real sweat soaked warehouse banger of a remix. Dark Sky have been firing on all cylinders of late, releases on Tectonic and 50 Weapons, collaborations with Breach... and their remix of 'Something In The Air is underpinned with a rattling 4/4 groove and big subby sweeps, retaining the original's melodic touches. Bonobo seals a huge period of activity, including a rack of acclaimed albums for Ninja Tune, with an ethereal and sublime take on 'Something In The Air'. The remix cinematically sweeps over you, its rising melodies and tight percussions making this a standout job from Bonobo and a fine closing to a big remix package!

Hypercolour's latest release comes in the form of 'Higher Level', a brand new release from label co-owner Alex Jones that is tastefully augmented by remixes from Mr Fingers and Hypercolour's latest signings,Groove Armada.
Jones' reputation for the sort of house music that takes a unique path is well deserved. Whether it's the choice of sounds, the levels in the mix or the occasionally bizarre arrangements, Jones belligerently ploughs his own path and is one of the few house artists who can claim to be completely unique. The designer behind Hypercolour's ever-striking artwork, Jones even gets to imbue his own releases with the sort of irreverent humour that has led to him being known as the Spike Milligan of house music by nobody in particular (or just 'bell' to his friends).
With 'Higher Level', Jones typically confounds expectation by delivering a his most straightforward cut yet. Classic in its elements and references, it's a track that employs a small mixture of percussion, an original vocal (courtesy of Alex's neighbour, Alan Winfield) and key samples to create a vibrant and powerful tune that is as classy as it is high impact.

Born out of a love for Disco records and odd electronics, Casino Times is the project of producers Joseph Spencer and Nicholas Church - a musical partnership that is rooted in House and Techno but often treads into the weird and wonderful.
Since first starting the project in 2010 Spencer and Church have steadily been crafting a back catalog that reflects their varied tastes and unique approach to electronic music. This has seen them release on a wealth of respected labels such as Wolf Music, Futureboogie Recordings & Permanent Vacation, just to name a few.The debut on Omena, 'Decoded EP', consists of four tracks highlighting a distinct development of their musical style.
No need to dissect each and every track here to explain how it sounds, just play it and enjoy. Everyone from your grandparents to your neighbour and best friend will ask for track IDs.
