House Vinyl New Releases - News

2 supreme Chicago heavyweights go head to head across 2 slabs of wax... step up Boo Williams & Glen Underground!

These 2 producers should need no introduction, they've both help shape the second wave of Chicago's House sound with their own inimitable styles over a slew of classic releases since the mid 90's. This double-pack is pure fire & was originally released in 1995 on miniscule Trax offshoot MAAD, fans of that bouncing, stripped back, funked out House music look no further, it's all right here!

Across the 2 discs you'll find back to back bangers, a serious addition to any DJ's bag & throwing a whole lot of styles into the blender Boo & Glen don't let up! This is the first time this record has ever been re-pressed since it's original release surprisingly with prices on-line often being at the higher end of the scale for used copies. All of the tracks featured still pack a serious punch & will definitely rock any party! This is straight up, no nonsense HOUSE for the heads!

Fully re-mastered, re-pressed & re-released for 2015 in it's original format with the permission & participation of all rights holders with all original MAAD label artwork intact.

Meda Fury welcome back Oakland resident Damon Bell for another accomplished EP of rugged cosmic grooves and tribal pressure.Bell is riding a rich wave of form with a killer recent release on Don't Be Afraid, and even more fire on the Burek label, not forgetting his impressive debut last year on his regular home, the mighty Deepblak - he's a proven master at fusing Afro-centric rhythms, rich keys and off-kilter pads into an urgent and contemporary form of house music that deftly eschews cliche.Akebu-Lan' commences the ritual with a gospel vocal loop over pumping 808 kicks and tranced out swollen pads, giving way to ecstatic fender rhodes chords and climatic piano, reminiscent of Robert Hood - is this Bell's fastest bpm track yet
Loose/live jazz keys riff throughout 'Ether' creating a warm rich miasma of sound against the distressed percussive gyrations and sinister drones.Hypnotic synth riffs tumble over the powerful drum-track in 'Altered Visions' creating a deliciously hypnotic chug.Drawing the EP to a close, Deepblak and PAN cohort African Sciences joins Bell for the sizzling 'Kinetic Energy'; a sleazy, skronking cut of slurred moog bass and atonally pitched toms wrestling with thumping kicks and whispered vox pummel the listener.

Limited release* The Sugarhouse crew follow up on the much sought after first Bouncin' release with two fresh cuts. This time, Maurice Jnr and Roy Rozell take the reins, both bringing the heat on two peak-time head turners.

Over the years, Lo Recordings has taken pride in exploring a wide and broad range of sounds, genres and styles. To mark 20 Years of Lo Recordings, we are taking a fresh and bold approach with our output to further explore the accelerating and refined developments in electronic music today.

This is the first of our new phase of releases, a collaborative project between the two titans Mr. G and K15. 'A Learning Curve' is exactly as the title suggests, an educational experience to un- derstand each other musically and technically, and to explore new territories and schools of thought.

As avid users and fans of the MPC, as well as being extremely busy, both Mr. G and K15 were given the same samples dug out of the Lo Recordings archives to each create a track which would remotely display their techniques and methods. This was quick- ly adopted to be the theme in a series of three releases to come out throughout the year from the pair.

The results come in the form of Mr. G's mesmerising 'Navigate' and K15's introspective 'The Guilt Within', two very individual tracks in their own rights.

'Navigate' is instantly recognisable as the work of its creator, armed and ready to bring the dance floor to hypnotic heights. With its rough and gritty sound, driving kick & synth stabs, and hauntingly majestic keys, we are thrown into peak of the night. On the flip, 'The Guilt Within' takes a turn to more ominous terri- tories, crafting an atmosphere on the other end of the spectrum to 'Navigate'. A beautiful and delicate journey carried along by light skipping percussion, immersive sweeping pads and a puls- ing sub which all come together to take the listener deep inside themselves.

Voodoo Down returns to the compilation series that started it all: Possible Side Effects Vol. 1, released in late 2012, was the first release on the Brooklyn-based label and marked the inception of a concept EP series that would come to define the label's sound. Featuring an A1 cut by German journeyman producer STL and rounded out by the label founders' eclectic techno styles, PSE Vol. I was the perfect vehicle for the producers still working to carve out their own individual aesthetic. Now with a dozen releases under their belt, the founders L'estasi Dell'oro, N'conduit and 12 x 12 have returned to their roots and this time recruited the prolific Berlin-based producer Deadbeat for volume three of the series. Like the first two volumes, it's a slightly chaotic mix of beefy dance floor tools and heady experimentation. The separate personalities shine through more than ever on this release. VDR always striving to keep things interesting.

17 tracks split across 2 pieces of vinyl Double gatefold vinyl with sleeve notes and photographs.

One of the biggest names in house music, Pete Tong teams up with hugely successful conductor Jules Buckley and the Heritage orchestra for this album of beautifully arranged classical versions of house anthems Including tracks such as Children, Café Del Mar, One More Time, Lola's Theme, Good Life and Insomnia

Album follows a hugely successful Royal Albert Hall show and 3 forthcoming live dates - the O2 show in December sold out in a few hours.

Rick Wade delivers 3 excellent tracks for People of Earth's sixth release. Escapism is warm, distorted & moody. Dark strings, chords & a thick kick with low end that gives subwoofers a work out. "Stand Alone" is classic BIG RICK. An anytime house jam, chord changes and drum grooves. Just perfect. "Understand", old skool breaks & sample heavy. A bit of a departure from our norm...and we love it.

From the depths of the Jackal's den, Butter Sessions label bosses Sleep D emerge with two new Techno leaning cuts.
Sequenced, manufactured & hand-printed in the suburbs of Melbourne, this locally made 7 inch features Dub inspired basslines & space infused SFX to excite the heads and freaks alike.

Classic EP from Virgo from 1986. 4 classic tracks including 'R U Hot Enough'.

Wabi Sabi is a jam-based collaboration between NYC underground notables, including Matt Gardner (Terekke), Rezzie (Weird Magic), Jan Woo and Patricia. Their first release, and the kickoff for the much anticipated Purple Trax label, Pt.01 showcases their dada-esque hypnagogic techno jam-band vibe, as well as some of the hardest-hitting Terekke material yet. Four rough-and-ready, deep and heavy cuts to trip out any head/space.

The second release from Moxie's On Loop imprint sees a three track EP from fellow Londoner & NTS mainstay, Fold. From the no nonsense techno roller 'Bend Sinister' through to the groove laced title track 'Mill's Theme', this release has got you covered. Currently on heavy rotation from the likes of Joy Orbison, George Fitzgerald, Leon Vynehall, and Midland.

Jacktone Records is pleased to announce our latest release: a vinyl EP titled Channel from rising house producer, Loren Steele
The EP from San Francisco-based Steele is comprised of four original tracks designed for the dancefloor, plus a sprawling psychedelic remix from Mathematics/100% Silk veteran, Roche. Not only are the tracks varied and ready for skilled DJs to drop at that perfect spot of the night, but, they're also earworms - hooking you with their infectious grooves and melodies. The clean production and energetic structure of the originals, featuring perfectly-placed pads, stabs and filters washing over propulsive basslines and percussion locks in a warm yet hands-in-the-air vibe. The Roche remix of Swimma draws out the groove and adds some of that San Francisco psychedelic fog. The tracks were recorded live in single takes with little post production processing, giving them a kinetic feel that can't be reproduced.

Channel was produced with creative feedback from both Cherushii and Nackt, whom were lost in the Oakland fire. The EP is released in their memory.

Loren Steele is a San Francisco-based producer and multi-instrumentalist. As a bassist, DJ and a solo live PA artist, he has performed at Bay Area institutions, Haceteria, OK Hole, Psychic Friends, Run the Length of your Wildness, Space Gallery, Public Works, and Underground SF. He has releases on Wolf and Lamb Music, Run the Length of your Wildness, BOB recordings, and Microsound.org
Channel is his first vinyl 12".

Originally released on R2 RECORDS in 2007 and recorded in Brussels. Written by ALTON MILLER with jazz vocalist LADY LINN. 3 mixes of the title track including the original mix, remixes from ZOETIC and BODHI SATVA, as well as the track "BETWEEN THE MIDDLE".

Originally released on Chicago's seminal GUIDANCE RECORDINGS label in 1998. "PROGRESSIONS" was a precursor for the Afro House movement and features BUKU on guitar and MANU LOKOLE on log drum. JEREMY ELLIS provides keyboard production on the funked out "TIME AND SPACE".

DJ Haus' much hyped release of 2014 gets a repress backed with remixes from PALACE & ARUN VERONE!

Originally released on TRACK MODE in 2003, "NU FORMS" is a musical nod to all things FANIA and AFRO-CUBAN JAZZ. MALIK ALSTON shares keyboard duties and delivers a blazing flute solo on "BEAUTIFUL BROWN PEOPLE" along with ALTON MILLER on percussion. A definite groover reissued on INNER MUSE!

The WPH vinyl only coloured series that started back in 2009 with San Soda's 'Purple' E.P. ...has ran out of colours... There is one more edition in that series coming your way, but that's for somewhere in the spring.
Seeing as we here at WPH HQ kinda like vinyl only releases we have decided to start the WPH 'TEN' series. The idea is simple: 10 x 10', always pressed on 300 copies, vinyl only, two original tracks from one artist. Up first is the debut release by another young Belgian kid called Dektro. A gear-head with a musical background and a love for house music is a combination that cannot go wrong...and it hasn't.

'De Flattekat' and 'Langhors' are two absolute house beauties that will appeal to both fans of Floating Points and Ame. Worlds apart for some, but not for Dektro and WPH

A.Heiniger returns on his own Handle with Care imprint as Dj Laxxiste A.This time round he drops three lit tracks that groove to rhythms of percussion and bass all woven together with layer upon layer of melody. This latest release is an introspection of feeling and sensation, with the never ending waves taking you to a place you rather be.

Local Talk release no.61 is 'Bewyste EP', a unique and contagious take on house music by Esa & Mervin Granger.
The opening track, Bontas lures you deep into Esa's forward thinking house music, it's raw, percussive and wondrously catchy with a organic feel. It might sound pretty straight forward but don't let that fool you. There are many layers of fx and clever programming which makes Esa stray away from the norm when it comes to producing and that's what we love.
Next up is MVK, a perfectly balanced deep house number that builds slowly with a lush combination of chords and piano. Watch out for the thumpin bass, it transforms the track into something really special and takes it to another level. On the flip Boddhi Satva delivers a remix worthy of a big sound system. His Ancestral Soul Mix of Bontas is delicate swinging congas and claps, garnished with a twisted synth line just waiting to explode. It's pure soul and groove showcasing Boddhi's unique quality and musicianship.A fine addition to the Local Talk discography

We are back - bringing that raw and funky Garage vibe to vinyl & kicking off our artist series with a selection of original Underground Garage artists from back in the day - so who better to start off such a release with no other than an innovator of that scene and mastermind behind those Tuff Jam beats, Mr Karl "Tuff Enuff" Brown.

The A-Side or ( Tuff side) contains an unreleased special version of his infamous Intro's which has been sought after since the late 90s. For the second track, Karl Brown created a heavy, funky anthem called "So Good . The B-Side or ( Jamz side) will also consist of two tracks from Dub Jamz to celebrate the old Garage vibe, bringing back a sound we all love.

This release cements everything we stand for with our label, simply Underground Garage - bringing back all the memories to the oldskool lovers of this sound as well as teaching the younger generation the roots of this Garage genre.

Late night dweller Todd Modes can be found deejaying around Detroit playing anything from offbeat ambient grooves to spaced out Disco jams.
He released the Todd Modes / Bobby Dolo EP on the cult underground label M1 Sessions, and as Cosmic Handshakes with Dial 81 they put out an EP called 'The Delicate Details'.

Now he teams up with Golf Channel's own wild man Mike Severson from the psychedelic Disco rock outfit Heroes of the Galleon Trade.

After a session one night, the two step out for a cold one and bump into burly biker bar bandit Randy Winter and the singer song writer sex visionary Emily Infinity. After a few drinks they invited them back to the studio and the vocals were set. Put on your jean jacket slip on your leather boots and ready yourself for a night thrill ride.

On "PORTAL TO CANIS", Chicago's RADIUS serves up 4 tracks of House with a downtempo/electro sensibility. "A DASH OF ACID" and "SEPARATED" kick off the A side, "WOMEN ARE THE GATEWAYS..." continues the party on the flip.

Ryota O.P.P aka Ryota Arai is the latest signing to Meda Fury. A highly respected DJ, promoter and producer - Ryota is a lynchpin of Tokyo's burgeoning disco / house scene, his comtemporaries include Cos/Mes, Kuniyuki, and KZA among others who mix eastern mysticism, jazz spirituality, rare cosmic disco and deeply musical / intricate house.
From the haunted discoid-stomp of 'Zombie Boogie' to the sparse, clipped jazz-inflected funk of 'Rain Jazz', to the caustic, spiralling pads and moody stabs of 'Sweet Claim' and beyond, it's clear that this is utterly unique dance music with an intriguing balance of flavours at play - 'Spirit house' 'darkbalearica' 'mystic house' we'll leave it to your imagination.

Simoncino drops 2 deep chicago inspired houz trax on UTTU backed with a SUPER HOT! Acid remix from Dance Mania's legendary Houz' Mon

(Additional remix & production A2 by Mark Seven)
Not too long ago a jiffy bag arrived at Parkwest HQ. In it was a scratched TDK case with a SA-X tape containing a musical message from years past, simply marked 'THE TAPE I LOST!'
We sat and listened, able to pinpoint influence and reference but yet hearing something totally new.
That this tape surfaced and made it across the years and the miles to us was fortunate. When the synth part came through clear on a later version on the tape, allowing us to remix then it became destiny.Emotion, melody and rhythm will always be timeless and these tracks, selected from that tape, are as relevant today as they ever were.

"This record is a tribute to Bordeaux City. REST IN POWER Château Trompette"

An idea who's time has clearly come, MOON ROCK VOLUME 1 struck a nerve upon release last spring. A collection of deeply atmospheric ambience, cosmic, and chillout techno, it was the opening salvo in a much longer-term effort by NYC-based THRONE OF BLOOD RECORDINGS to establish a platform for a diverse collection of friends and musical fellow travellers to explore composing music for folding time and exploring innerspace. Now, just months after Vol. 1 hit shelves, MOON ROCK VOLUME 2 is upon us...

An evolutionary step further into the ether, Vol. 2 evokes a familiarly offkilter and contemplative vibe. But it is also more sonically diverse than Vol. 1, presenting a more expansive view of chakra-stimulating spacemusic straddling techno, strange acoustic instrumentation, and Balearic flavors.

In addition to artists that have released on Throne of Blood before, like Bunker New York's Ulysses, Tel Aviv's Red Axes, producer/visual artist Pixelife, studio maestro AKA JK, and the inimitable Pittsburgh Track Authority, Moon Rock Vol. 2 features contributions from Tempelhof & Gigi Masin, Jonah Sharp (Reagenz) and DJ Spun (Rong Music) in their Loose Control Band guise, Balearic Gabba Soundsystem feat. peeDoo, Toronto's Arthur Oskan, Margot (Les Disques de la Mort), Ima Cliché boss Cosmo Vitelli (Bo'tox), and two contributions from Cologne Tape's Jens-Uwe Beyer/Popnoname.

This is music for comedowns, meditation retreats, and adventures beyond the Ultraworld. Tune in and space out...

The HOUSING PROJECT is a Well Rounded sister label to concentrate closely on more recognisably House productions. The reason for this is because at WR HQ House Music is in our DNA and as natural as air.

Fear of Flying kick off the new year with the next instalment in their vinyl only series, enlisting the talents of Matthew Burton & Kate Rathod. The second disc comprises of 'Raw Moves', a rough and ready analogue jam and the dawn chorus of 'Clive' whilst a trio of ambient skits, 'Analogue Systems', 'Raw Circuits' and 'Beppe' round things off nicely. Part 2 of 2.

Third release on the much sought after Vinyl Only label.

Born in an X1/9 and raised on a diet of B-movies, Cerrone and fettuccine, French DJ and producer Alan Dente is the latest addition to the esteemed Bordello A Parigi roster. A full time member of Parisian party crew and digging experts Les Yeux Orange, Dente has spent the last few years tearing up the banlieues and blogosphere with a heady mix of disco, boogie, Italo and proto-house. After a life changing contribution to Manctalo institution Red Laser Records, Dente arrives at the Bordello in style with his dancefloor haute couture.

Enriching the sonic portal, techno conscript Antenna Happy marks his second release on Reinhardt with two pieces of finely crafted electronic music, in the shape of Body and Day Four.
First to the fold, Body. A dance floor essential, unraveling and built to work the late night hours. Plug into the psychedelic mainframe, and convert to this robust track.
Next up, Day Four takes the reigns. Ghostly pads forged the way before mechanical synths reset the system. Day Four much like its bedfellow Body, holds court in both the worlds of house and techno.
Debuting under his Antenna Happy guise (after a 20 year period absent from releasing music) in September of last year with the esteemed Pinto EP, he has since been commissioned for a vinyl 12" release on Tenth Circle (Defected Records sub-label) and enlisted to remix Alpines, Vessels, Name/age and Ephemerals. Antenna Happy also self-releases a limited edition white label for Record Store Day, and after debuting his new live show in London during February, further club shows and festivals appearances are to follow for this inventive producer.

Following its initial release in 2013 and its round of high-profile advert placements, FCL 'It's You' is proving to be one of those tracks that just keep coming back better. Featuring remixes by the likes of Mousse T., Hercules & Love Affair and Nick Holder, this Defected remix package is sure to send 'It's You' down the road to becoming a classic.

With a wall-scratching kick and rattling shakers, first on the list is Mousse T.'s Teef Vocal Mix, which moves with its minimal bass line and striking piano melody. Next up, Mousse T.'s Discotronic Mix drops the disco ball by introducing a groovy bass guitar riff and uplifting synth stabs. Nick Holder's Trackheadz Mix sets the irrepressible vocal over a rolling, sub-heavy house groove, with eerie chords and orchestral strings exquisitely playing off one another as the track progresses. Finally, Hercules & Love Affair Remix creates an intricate rhythm medley using pitched high hats and vanishing synth breaks against a futuristic guitar lick and cosmic arpeggios. With such a diverse and well-crafted selection of remixes, each track preserves the irresistible draw of the original while steering into its own unique sonic direction.

Global in ethos, South American in spirit.' That's how Hernan Cattaneo describes his acclaimed Sudbeat label, which was founded in 2009, and, to this day, he works alongside with his friend Graziano Raffa to manage the label. Across a century of releases they have brought the world mesmerising electronic music from some of the worlds biggest producers, as well as fostering countless new talents. We both think that musical identity is crucial' explains Cattaneo, and it's something that's stamped all over this sublime new double disc compilation comprising entirely of unreleased, exclusive material from the label's roster in collaboration with Balance Music.

Always highly focused with his approach to compilations, Cattaneo focuses on the sound of now rather than muddying things with anything more conceptual. Like every other album I did, I always want to showcase my sound at a certain moment in time.' As such, each effort provides a snapshot in his ever-evolving oeuvre, and a succinct souvenir of that particular era. Line them up together and what's consistent is his love of melody, atmosphere and texture. Dance music with a capital 'm', if you'll forgive the hackneyed phrase.l

Let it go EP, the fourth release by In Records, where IULY.B brings a real crystal and powerful sound.

Brooklyn resident Kim Ann Foxman kicks off 2017 with a fresh release on her own Firehouse Records imprint. Energy EP comprises four new tracks heavy with Foxman's recognisable sound, centred around her own unique vocals and the nostalgia of early house and techno records.
Following on from a series of highly acclaimed solo productions on Firehouse, Foxman once again creates musictointoxicate.'EnergyEPdivesintomyraveroots,'sheexplains,'Itincludesaselectionoftracksto be enjoyed at different times of the night.'
'URMagnetic'setsthetonewithafeverishvocalhookedonhauntingundertones,while'E4Energy'steps up the tempo with a rhythm that exudes Foxman's own fire and intensity, whilst also capturing the spirit of rave.
Foxman's vocals are centre stage in 'U & Me Electricity', a track reminiscent of the UK rave scene and concluding in true mind-bending style is '2 The Source'.
Foxman created Firehouse Recordings two years ago and has developed it into a label for music heads that centres around quality underground music for the dancefloor. 2016 saw her become the resident at The Good Rooms in Brooklyn, a Panorama Bar regular and she concluded the year by playing for the Mixmag Lab London.

180 gram red colour vinyl (no digital).
