Argentina's Manuel Sahagun serves up a hypnotising three tracker with Italian producer Ivan Iacobucci on remix duties.
Based in Buenos Aires, Manuel Sahagun has been a key player in his country's electronic music scene for well over a decade now. Kickstarting his career releasing on seminal house imprint Wiggle, more recently Sahagun has appeared on Oblack, Klangkultur Schallplaten and Electronique (including collaborations with fellow Argentinian Jay West). Joining him on the release is Ivan Iacobucci, a Berlinbased producer known for appearances on Apollonia and Holic Trax.
'Latino Tool', as its name suggests, is a rhythmic production produced with DJs in mind featuring a medley of organic percussion before gradually introducing a sultry bassline and distorted chopped vox. In contrast, 'So Wet' takes things deeper with mesmerising synths and sampled crowd noises before the groove led 'Softly' combines shuffling drums with tantalising effects as warming pads ebb into the mix. Ivan Iacobucci then remixes 'Softly' distorting it into an otherworldly dancefloor workout filled with intricate nuances.

Passive priorities find you in the evening, late night and morning, in every moment of the day as the earth takes it course around the sun. Through such a faze, in the summer of '15, a collection of four tunes were jammed in homage to such moments with inspiration taken from the depths of adult contemporary and the moods and 'tudes of Beaubien Ouest. These four tunes, delivered today as Priorities by Project Pablo soundtrack our spring days and follow a trip through the day-to-day while discovering balance in the mundane.Off the back of a critically acclaimed album early last year 'I Want To Believe', and crowned with 1080p's inaugural vinyl release (album sampler) Project Pablo joins the Magicwire crew with his first solo material in over a year.
Having spent the last few years on hiatus Magicwire is back with their sophomore release of their second life inspired by their love of VHS skate tapes, sun drenched days and colorful late nights.

JLM and Chris Wang started the party Love Dancing in 2009 in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Love Dancing, along with Jesse Proudfoot and Chris Allen's Good Faith, was a formative dance experience for many of us in Vancouver and an essential ingredient in the Mood Hut stew. The music on this disc dates from that period and captures some of the energy of the Love Dancing parties. We hope you enjoy it.

Beginning in the south, the Bruce Trail hugs the ancient shoreline of Lake Iroquoia as it follows the edge of the Niagara Escarpment. The Path, over its lengthy journey, winds its way through a landscape of natural beauty as it moves up to central Ontario. As the Trail leads further into the depths of the woodland and Ravine, sunlight falls through layers of evergreen branches stamping intricate patterns on the forest floor. Continuing north, the Trail passes an array of plants and wildlife native to the historic forest. Vivid colours saturate the forest canopy, complimented by the sounds of the cascading
waterfall echoing through the Ravine. In the distance a carpet of gently waving fern cover the rolling hills dotted with slow-growing centuries-old coniferous trees that reach towards the sun.
At the home stretch of the escarpment you will be offered stunning views of the Peninsula, with the calm blue water of the western end of Lake Ontario reaching out to the lush greens of the temperate rainforest. This is the journey of the Bruce Trail.

Julian Stetter might be best known as 'one half of the electronic pop duo VIMES', but he is no stranger to the Cologne club scene. His debut EP 'Insides' stems from a long history of djing and organising underground parties across the city. A resident DJ and collaborator at Cologne's famed JackWho club, it was these surroundings that drove Stetter to dive deep into producing. His first solo project is now set to be released on the label PNN. It features three tracks plus a remix by Beyou. Stetter's sound is polished and the precise production of each three tracks make this EP feel far from debut. 'Emily' is the first track set to be released this Friday. It draws you in on shimmering waves that rise and break into a deeper and spacier sound. Warm beats are interjected with random snippets of whale song. Listening to Emily feels like receiving a welcome hug at an after party.
Seems like something's going on across the pond at the moment with seemingly blossoming, or at least rejuvenated scenes in the United States and Canada. Our last handful of releases on Freerange have included artists from Montreal, Tujuana, Pittsburgh and Chicago and we're about to add Los Angeles to the list with this new one from Justin Jay and Ulf Bonde. The young producers have been steadily building steam with a number of fine releases the last couple of years
and we welcome them to Freerange for their debut EP entitled Indecision. The title track sets the mood with a low-slung, super-deep house groove complete
with an intimate vocal and a charming simplicity which contributes to the powerful end result. Elements come into focus then disappear in a fog of reverb whilst playful guitar picks add a live jammed feel to the loping groove giving things a Bob Moses/Francis Harris kind of vibe. Next up is Justin's own Dub version which steers a similar course but focuses on
a more floor-friendly arrangement and minimal vocals.
Flipping over we have Giegling and White regular Edward taking the reigns and working his magic on an incredible, epic remix of Indecision. Those who follow his every move as we do here at Freerange might have some idea of what to expect.
The result is a glorious, almost ten minute long fusion of ambient, dub techno and deep, sub-aquatic house to lose your marbles to. It's fairly pointless trying to describe the delicate twists, turns and subtle details that make up this piece, suffice to say, it's the kind of track that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.
Closing the digital release we have a bonus track in the form of I See You. Once again, Justin and Ulf have created a heady mix of delicate vocals, dubby atmospherics and a crisp beats which drive the groove along perfectly.
Detroit native MGUN aka Manuel Gonzales returns from a two year break from releasing to unveil his debut LP for Don't Be Afraid. Marking the UK-based label's first artist album (DBALP001), 'Gentium' follows a string of highly acclaimed releases on labels also including The Trilogy Tapes, Wild Oats, Third Ear, BAKK, Berceuse Heroique and FIT."About half of these tracks were made in my childhood home between 2007 and2010. Most were recorded on cassette then digitized on a Windows millennium edition PC. I would record these to the standard WAV recorder you can find in the sound preferences, which from there it was possible to use primitive effects to manipulate the audio file.""The other half were produced in my current home studio, using somewhat of the same system I used back then, one take for the most part. There is hardly any multi-tracking involved with any of my productions. I use a basic WAV editor to manipulate recordings as well as various analog recording mediums beforehand."In drawing from these recordings and methods developed over such a long period of time, Gentium captures the growth of a modern electronic artist in a way few albums do, charting the evolution from an unknown quantity in the birthplace of techno to the DJ & producer widely admired today for the fresh immediacy of his approach.

Renowned electronic music duo Ogris Debris from Vienna is releasing its debut album! On "Constant Spring" they manage to keep a balance between vigorous house music, electronic pop and playful musicality.
The title says it all: spring fever, constant euphoria and a pioneering spirit are leaving a lasting impression and induce a longing for endless repetition. But the 12 multi-layered tracks do not only feed bold dance hedonism to the listener, they furthermore lure into a world of double meanings, depth and substance.
"Giant Stabs", as the opener is called, is a full-blown house anthem, setting the pace with massive synths and samples. This mood is carried on by more irresistable piano chords in tracks like "Racer" or "April Fool" and the driving synth-techno of "Midnight". In between those we find enchanting dancefloor pop hits like "Brainfreeze" or "Beyond The Wall" as well as the Latin-tinged stomper "Lazer Gun" and the sweet and bubbly final track "Sometimes".
There is also room for the rumbling funk of the successful album precursor "See The World" (check the video!) and the acid-soaked "Lie Cheat Steal" with its intriguing choir and lyrics, all the while showing the impressive range and depth of this album. To complete such a blooming variety we are treated to a revamp of their timeless onomatopoeic club hit "My Miezekatze" and the dubbed-out chords and rolling beats of "Nebula".
Just like their label mates Dorian Concept and Cid Rim, Ogris Debris are never at a loss for catchy melodies embedded in formidable harmonic structures and very individual sounddesign to form a precise and idiosyncratic language. Among their most unique features are the inventive use of voices, sampling and synthesis. They enmesh the listeners with hooklines and clever yet poetic lyrics, all the while tearing down the dancefloor with muscular and elaborate beats.
Ogris Debris are sometimes compared to acts like Nôze or dOP, but if you ask the guys they will rather cite Frank Zappa, Pharrell Williams, Queen, DJ Koze, Jamie Lidell, Matthew Herbert, Modeselektor, Four Tet or Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys as influences.
And now Ogris Debris are ready to make the big leap forward - forget about summer, autumn and winter, 2016 is the year of "Constant Spring"!

* Deepblak's Chief Alchemist AYBEE will release his fourth full-length studio album, 'The Odyssey', in November 2016. As befitting its grand title, this newest long-player finds him concerned with personal journeys: both the personal one that has brought him to this point - living in Berlin, 15 years since founding Deepblak in his native Oakland - and the one that beckons for him personally and creatively in future: AYBEE sees himself as being halfway up a mountain, looking back on where he has come from, and to where he will be headed next - both concepts play a profound role in the emotional textures of the album, which in true Deepblak fashion draws from jazz, deep house, techno, hip hop, blues, experimentation, cinema, space, time and infinity.
* 'The Odyssey' represents a change-up for AYBEE in several ways, forged from a desire to keep expectations at bay and throw something of a curveball for those who felt they had him pegged: "a good pitcher always keeps you off balance". This newest work saw him deliberately limit his sound palette in a creative exercise that challenged him to create a full body of work from a small pre-selected library of sonic elements. While this was restricting in some aspects, the approach to - as he puts it - "throw the ingredients in a basket and cook with it later" gave him more freedom to focus on atmosphere and groove instead of putting hours into trying out different options - "otherwise I'd still be in the studio now trying to work out which hi-hat to use on the third track!"
* While the resulting collection of tracks, bound together in sounds used yet disparate in their applications of them, may represent a more accessible AYBEE album than those prior, it still contains within it the DNA of his work with Deepblak Rhythm Czar, Afrikan Sciences - most notably in their improvised, one-take album length Miles Davis homage 'Sketches of Space'. That 2014 LP was closely followed by another collaboration, with Jerome Sydenham and Ron Trent as S.A.T., released on the former's Ibadan Records and pursuing a more techno-driven sound to the polyrhythmic jazz experimentation of 'Sketches'. Elements of both styles can be found in 'The Odyssey', as it moves through tempos and styles, yet the approach he has taken regarding the sounds used ensures it will forever be a unique work in his discography - quite literally nothing in his work before or since will sound like this record.
* 'The Odyssey''s artwork is by the artist Grzegorz Redko , whose animations of the cover art will be released online ahead of the album release, lending another dimension to AYBEE's latest statement of artistic intent, with many more still to come as he keeps climbing that mountain.
In 2001 Aybee launched Deepblak Recordings as a creative outlet for his music. Ultimately catching the attention of Legendary House DJ/Producer Ron Trent. This chance meeting led to Trent signing Aybee to the iconic Prescription Records imprint. After joining the Prescription family AYBEE, along with Trent, would come together to co-found Prescription sub-label Future Vision, and go on to create music as the "Indigenous Space People", and later as S.A.T.
* "Ron was exposed to my music through a friend of his in NY. At this time, Ron was in the NY phase of his career and was a resident at the iconic "Giant Step" parties. I was heavily inspired by his USG output at the time, and I think it was reflected in my music. I would go out in the city to the house joints and hear all styles, but when that USG/Prescription stuff hit at like 3am, it was another level of depth... it was spiritual. "

If you're familiar with CVbox' music you know that he isn't the guy for your average Techno track. Formalistic song structures aren't his thing. When you'll start to listen to a new CVBox track you'll don't know how it will end. His music derives from his deep love for analogue gear and a pretty unique way to deal with it. On his first album "So ist es im Nadelwald" CVBox rides between the corner points of Techno, Electro and Ambient. The music is infused by an omnipresent darkness that isn't just there as an end in itself but will definitely give the thrills to listener and dancers. Some of the tracks develop a rarely heard urgency on the dance floor with those dub-influenced swirls or ever-present synth tides while simultaneously preserving a rather intimate atmosphere. Sometimes it's just an unfamiliar sound that makes the difference that simply comes out of nowhere. One thing is for certain: CVBox is all about atmosphere. As you can see by the album's artwork and title ("Nadelwald" is German for softwood forest) The album is also inspired by his passion to go into nature. When he is sick of the whirlwind that is his current hometown Leipzig he disappears into Saxony's hinterland for collecting mushrooms or just letting the thoughts flow. The double 12" comes in a beautiful package designed by Jacob Stoy with hand numbered and printed outer sleeve and two printed innersleeves on strong cardboard.

Call it future-step. Call it deep-step. Call it autonomic. Call it whatever you wish, but one thing is for sure - Hidden Element hailing straight from Kiev, Ukraine fail to make their music disappoint. With a fresh take on electronic sounds ranging from breathtaking beat-less layers to +/- 170 BPM heavy hitters, these two have been making waves in the industry for some time already, releasing on 22:22, Alphacut, Med School, Pinecone Moonshine, and Translation - to name a few. But it is Absys Records that is the home for their full-length album entitled 'Together'. The release is a collection of 13 amazing pieces of work, each hitting a slightly different tone, but making a wonderfully coherent whole. An entity that is enjoyed best when all of its components are played together, as the title suggests. The album focuses in majority on a rather home-listening experience, with tracks like 'Aura' or 'The Night' setting the pace for a pleasant evening chill and boosting the laid-back mood even further with "Quite Place" or 'Without You feat Kiyomi' - both infused with lovely vocals - that can serve well as modern-day lullabies. But there are also more lively accents ('Long Way Home with Physical Illusion', 'Who Knows'), traces of live instrumentation ('The Next Day feat John LaMonica'), or ambient ('Bridge'). All in all, you get a fantastic cross-section of contemporary electronic music, a masterfully composed package of nothing but pure listening pleasure.

Miami born turntablelist & producer, Jesse Perez, throws down a booty shaking killer house jam for Edible's fourth release. What You Say About My Momma' has been ripping up dancefloors for months since landing in Eats Everything's hands, so it's a welcome release on the label, backed with a deadly remix from Truncate.
On the Original Mix, Perez grinds out a funky and low-slung groove, its memorable vocal hook looping and chopping from side to side as the raw MPC beats and sub bass weave their magic.
Truncate brings his no nonsense and direct approach on the remix, carving out a Dance Mania style drum workout over the cut up vox (think Robert Armani meets Armand Van Helden). Truncate has been a hugely dependable producer for yonks via his trax on his own Truncate label as well as mixes for Jimmy Edgar, Shlomi Aber and KiNK, and he does not disappoint here.
Perez wraps up the EP with 'Boogie Down Brown', another slab of funk laden house goodness, blending high tension strings and rolling drums to great effect.
Perez has been firing out infectious house jams for labels like BPitch, DJ Sneak's I'm A House Gangster and Hot Creations, for some time now, as well as working his own label Mr. Nice Guy, so it's a welcome addition to the Edible roster for Jesse Perez.

Hunee presents his debut album "Hunch Music' this Spring. "Hunch Music' is the striking assembly of the artist's versatile inspirations and productional talent. It is a rich musical journey that latches onto you and doesn't let go easily.
Hun Choi, better known as Hunee, is a Korean Berliner who moved to Amsterdam over a year ago. In Berlin he used to work in a record store where he could extend his unquenchable enthusiasm for music. The connection with Rush Hour was a natural continuation of his musical path.
Firstly the DJ emerged, secondly the producer. As a DJ, Hunee manifested himself as a fine connoisseur of classic and contemporary music. Always smiling, he is determined to share every fine record he finds with the world. Over the past few years, Hunee the producer has put out some highly acclaimed EPs, but only a handful. The producer went quiet for a moment, but 'Hunch Music' proves Hunee's unstoppable character.
'Hunch Music' is rather special: it is a cinematic journey from the beginning to the end, with scenes we haven't encountered before. It starts with 'Woods' as the perfect introduction - a moody, mystic night haze that quickly changes into a warm and soothing whole. Following with 'Crossroads', the mystery transcends into something that moves us to the dance floor, and we're not sure whether we want to keep moving or we just want to listen. 'Hunch Music' has a nocturnal aura, an organic groove, and moments of glorious acid. It takes us up and throws us down, gently, while subjecting us to many cinematic and musical elements.
For an artist who is also an avid vinyl collector, it might be difficult to ensure that his numerous inspirations do not distract from his artistic signature. Hunee's production work is as colorful as his character, displaying a broad spectrum of his inspirations that manifest themselves in a surprising and seductive artistic entity.

We reckon it's time for a full Junktion EP on Outplay!
You can say Wide Awake is an appropriate title after a wonderful 2015 with a string of EP's on Sleazy Beats, Razor-n-Tape and Rose Records. This four tracker explores the sound he's been developing over the years and even touches a newer side.
The EP opens with the title track 'Wide Awake' and embodies the signature Junktion sound with a summery balearic touch.
'What We Are' is a faster synth laden affair coupled with his usual sample action. 'Sunny Side Up' is what the title says it is, a sunny Disco track driven by a groovy bassline and a funky rhythm guitar. The EP closes down with 'Don't Mess Up' for a more contemplative jazzy track with some smooth sampling and afro touches.

Bristol duo Outboxx return after a 12-month hiatus with their trademark low-slung house sounds, and another collaboration with vocalist and lyricist, Naomi Jeremy. With previous releases on fellow West Country labels Futureboogie and Idle Hands, Outboxx debut here on Hypercolour, completing their Bristol label hat trick. Sealing the release is a remix from Detroit's Andrés, the prolific producer behind multiple releases on La Vida and Kenny Dixon Jnr's Mahogani Music and KDJ labels. The Original mix of 'Rumours' opens proceedings with a firm reminder of the production quality that Outboxx so clearly posses, with a slugged out beat, spaceship pads and the vocal prowess of Naomi Jeremy, we have here a fitting track to keep the embers of summer burning bright. The signature sound of remixer Andrés is stamped all over his version as he gently adjusts elements of the original, putting a greater focus on the scintillating pads and offering a beach-side alternative to the more melodic Original Mix. A second original production from the duo, 'So Strong' provides a cool end to a coherent release, with well-poised keys combined with finely crafted ambient tones to provide a worthy contrast to the accompanying tracks. DJ Feedback: The Black Madonna - Really endearing, love this Chris Farrell (Idle Hands) - Good to see 'So Strong' come out, great tune Charles Webster - Love the lo-fi vibes of Andres remix Laurent Garnier - lovely 3 tracker deepness here Jeff K (Silver Network) - Andres remix is dope! Bonar Bradberry (PBR Streetgang) - Classy stuff Loco Dice (Desolat) - Will play!
