HouseDeepTech

Brooklyn resident Kim Ann Foxman kicks off 2017 with a fresh release on her own Firehouse Records imprint. Energy EP comprises four new tracks heavy with Foxman's recognisable sound, centred around her own unique vocals and the nostalgia of early house and techno records.
Following on from a series of highly acclaimed solo productions on Firehouse, Foxman once again creates musictointoxicate.'EnergyEPdivesintomyraveroots,'sheexplains,'Itincludesaselectionoftracksto be enjoyed at different times of the night.'
'URMagnetic'setsthetonewithafeverishvocalhookedonhauntingundertones,while'E4Energy'steps up the tempo with a rhythm that exudes Foxman's own fire and intensity, whilst also capturing the spirit of rave.
Foxman's vocals are centre stage in 'U & Me Electricity', a track reminiscent of the UK rave scene and concluding in true mind-bending style is '2 The Source'.
Foxman created Firehouse Recordings two years ago and has developed it into a label for music heads that centres around quality underground music for the dancefloor. 2016 saw her become the resident at The Good Rooms in Brooklyn, a Panorama Bar regular and she concluded the year by playing for the Mixmag Lab London.

BEATS OF NO NATION PRESS RELEASE - BONN01
Out of the primordial chaos, Beats of No Nation (BONN) was born. First as a radio show on 4ZZZ, BONN broadcasts weird and wonderful sounds from around the world, featuring Australian and international guests such as DEGO (2000Black), Francis Inferno Orchestra, Lobster Theremin, MUNK, Mall Grab, In Flagranti, Ben Pearce, Dreems, Kraak N Smaak and Pete Herbert to name a few.
Now, The BONN family are focusing their energy on artist & repertoire as they begin to unleash unheard sounds from their crew and beyond. For the rst release BONN has teamed up with Byron Bay based artist Jesse Dolman to deliver their interpretation of endearing sounds with proverbial aesthetics.
SUPER FUN BUMPER EDITION 'Trends EP' (BONN01)
Entering into the studio with no direction, expectations or rules is some what refreshing, 'Super Fun Bumper Edition' and their debut EP 'Trends' is the outcome of just that. Charles Murdoch and Jad Lee both established producers, friends, ex bandmates, and pool table rivals, got together over two sittings and decided to jam some ideas. The four songs on the 'Trends' EP were conceived.
Charlie & Jad said the main thing they were trying to create was music that was unpredictable, had twists, and turns. We think they succeeded. Music is made for ears. We could describe it all we like. Tell you its good, tell you it's amazing. But you have ears, so decide for yourself.

Tommaso Cappellato - Aforemention
MG120LP
Mental Groove
2x12inch06.02.201706.FEB.17

HouseDeepElectronicaPopJazz

Italian musician, producer, DJ and composer Tommaso Cappellato is a musical maverick - running the gamut from free-form techno to hip-hop production and jazz improvisation. Mentored by jazz visionaries Harry Whitaker (Black Renaissance), Michael Carvin (Pharoah Sanders) and collaborator with techno master Donato Dozzy, Tommaso's seemingly unorthodox breadth of style and vision gives us a truly unique new school artist.

From building his jazz chops as a resident drummer in NYC, to hip hop excursions alongside Brooklyn MC Yah Supreme, traveling to Senegal to meld with local world music masters, to leading his own award-winning spiritual jazz project Astral Travels, collaborating with experimental electronica and techno artist Rabih Beaini and visionary Egyptian producer Maurice Louca to now presenting his solo artist project 'Aforemention' - Tommaso is the modern renaissance man, bringing together his lifetime of artistic exploration and exposure to create his own concept of a jazz-informed experimental electronic soundscape.

Tommaso started his music journey on piano and at age 11, transitioned to drums. He studied under many of the jazz greats in NYC and soon became a regular fixture on the scene there, subsequently touring the US, Japan, China, Australia and Europe with multiple projects. His fascination for sounds outside the jazz realm led him to this new project - asking himself what would happen if he created alone, embracing everything from inspirations to moments of randomness and finding his own musical identity in that process. Using drums, analog synths and his own voice, Tommaso has created a body of work that evokes inner spaces, outer realms and new ideas.

'Aforemention' takes in all of Tommaso's past experiences and sees him creating a one-man journey through sound. He is joined on the album by three guests - legendary drummer Victor Lewis provides spoken word on 'Team Ball' to introduce the album, Inglewood, CA native and Solange-collaborator Nia Andrews vocals the ode to freedom 'Fly' and Detroit/NYC vocalist Dulcinea Detwah brings freeform hip hop verse to 'Get Set Free'. Everything else you hear is performed solo by Tommaso Cappellato, mixed by Donato Dozzy and mastered by Neel.

CD27.02.201727.FEB.17

HouseDeepDanceTech

With a string of chart hits and countless underground favourites to his name, Belgium-based Italian Vito Lucente stands proudly as one of Europe's most successful house artists. Recording under a multitude of aliases since the early 1990s, it is for his work as Junior Jack that he is most widely recognised.
His breakthrough cut 'My Feeling' is an early highlight of Defected's discography, which crossed over from main rooms to make an impact on charts in the UK, across Europe, Australia and the USA, as did later hits 'Stupidisco' and 'Da Hype'. Club smashes 'Thrill Me' and 'E Samba' demonstrate an ear for an infectious hook and a floor-filling bassline rarely matched before or since, whilst cuts such as 'Just Deep' and 'Only House Muzik' - produced under Lucente's alter-egos Deep Walker and Mr Jack - show he is equally adept at turning out dubby, underground material.
Collaborations with Kid Crème and Olivier Gosseries explore Latin rhythms and tracky percussion, and his production on tracks featuring Jocelyn Brown, Kathy Brown and Ron Carroll show his outstanding aptitude in working with some of the finest voices in house music.
Lucente is the creator of some of the genre's most distinctive records, responsible for countless memorable moments on dancefloors across the globe. Collecting together the highlights of his wide-ranging career, House Masters - Junior Jack sees him take his rightful place amongst the pantheon of the genre's true legends.

Since Fabrikate first emerged with a remix of The Weeknd's Often in 2014, the duo has showcased a variety of influences on productions ranging from traditional Deep House to sounds reminiscent of the L.A. Bass House scene. Despite rising success, Fabrikate retain their anonymity, hidden behind minimalist masks when on stage or behind the camera. In contrast to the vibrant aesthetic that permeates their overall image, the duo remains stoic and silent, taking a shadowy step into the background so their music can truly take centre stage.

More PFT hotness on 12" for your delight and delectation. Alongside stalwarts such as Goshawk, Rhythm Plate and YSE we are delighted to welcome Switzerland's finest deep house producer Shaka to the PFT roster. His track 'Dream Thing' should really be called Dance Thing as it's proper groovy, tracky and jazzy in equal measures. LOVE IT. I've used up half the word count already so to sum up each artist/track in one word I would say Goshawk 'Mozambique' = chunky; Rhythm Plate 'String Thing' = stringy; YSE 'Reflections' = syncopated. Listen to it, you might like it.

Hove - Portes Du Soleil
LOOD006
Light of Other Days
12inch03.02.201703.FEB.17

HouseDeepElectronicaBeatsElectro

In the summer of 2016 HOVE went to France for two weeks to start writing and recording his new EP «Portes du Soleil». Together with his girlfriend they spent two weeks at Le Pascalet, a house in the woods of the Cevennes, right outside the small village of St. Etienne Valle´e Franc¸aise. Equipped with a sampler, a drum-machine, some synths, effect pedals and a mic for feld- recordings, he built the foundation of the 4 Songs that would later become the EP «Portes du Soleil». All the songs started out as live-jams. The goal was to create different moods and patterns inspired by the surroundings of the forest, long walks, playing petanque and plenty of Pastis. The tracks were later fnalized back home at HOVE's studio in Zurich. Musically «Portes du Soleil» feels like the natural follow up to his debut EP «Journey to Arendal». HOVE's tracks are wavering between sozzled grooves and warm, woozy atmospheres. Field- recordings from their daily routine in and around the house were either used to enrich the ambiance, or as in «Calme Infni», they were transformed into a whole song. Even though «Portes du Soleil» was written during the summer, the record is not bound to any season - It is simply an excerpt of HOVE's life in 2016.

Oliver Moon - Insight
EIGHTYNINE006V
Nineteen89
12inch12.07.201612.JUL.16

HouseDeepMinimal

After a two-year hiatus the London based House & Techno label Nineteen89 is back with a debut release from Oliver Moon. Both the A and B-side take inspiration from two very different sides of the Ibiza scene, where Oliver himself has spent the majority of his 22 years. Son of pioneering DJ/ producer Just Be (Bushwacka!), Oliver Moon began watching and learning from his peers, earning a spot on line-ups alongside such heavyweights as Carl Cox, Adam Beyer and Umek, at Space Ibiza amongst many other island venues. '

Insight' can unpretentiously be described as sub-heavy techno. Subtle steel drums build the intro behind a viscous kick that falls onto an unsettling bass. The breakdown brings a creeping vocal with a message subject to 'life choices' before dropping into chest thumping percussion line, laced with a deep bass structured to shake soundsystems.

On the flip side 'Amanecer' can be labelled as the after party to the A-Side. Meaning sunrise or dawn in Spanish, 'Amanecer' is a soulful minimal tech-house track inspired by the magical island sunrises that make the white isle and it's infamous afterparties the envy of party goers the world over. Soft synths create the backbone of the track, over grooving hats and claps, complete with a smooth bass line.

Tornado Wallace - Lonely Planet
RBCD09
Running Back
CD16.01.201716.JAN.17

HouseDeep

The eye of the storm: welcome to Tornado Wallace's debut album! The accumulation of about four years of work, with tracks written in Berlin and Melbourne, 'Lonely Planet' is nothing like you may have expected from the Australian expat. No stranger to fans and followers of ESP Institute, Beats in Space and Music From Memory's sister Label Second Circle, Tornado Wallace's strain of releases so far merged functionality with a musical playfulness that led him to find himself as one of the producer's behind José Padilla's International Feel album. Here, he leaves the needs of the dance floor behind in order to create a magical mystery tour de trance into his and our inner jungle. How about some references New Age sounds meet new wave melodies, Grace Jones runs into the Dire Straits at Compass Point, while a Korg Mini Pops and a Roland CR78 make amends for Sly & Robbie's absence, Michael Mann pictures Joseph Conrad's 'Heart of Darkness', Robert Rauschenberg tries his luck at naturalism and an imagined Wally Badarou echoes through all of it. Sandwiched between the title track and the yearning beauty of the album's final point 'Healing Feeling', you get all of that as well as collaborations with and contributions of NO ZU, David Hischfelder and the voice of Sui Zhen on 'Today', who would easily make Anna Domino take her proverbial hat off. Tornado Wallace created an album that supersedes the requirements and expectations of a debut. Like a lost Island Records or a never released Made to Measure album, 'Lonely Planet' soundtracks notions and ideas that recall the nostalgic future in the past as much as it looks ahead.

INCL DOWNLOADCODE Over the course of the past ten years, Stil vor Talent has striven to support emerging young artists, to continuously broaden and redefine its sound, and, ultimately, to create lasting memories, both on and off the dance floor. The dance floor is the place where we gather to leave the worries of our everyday lives behind, and, for those few moments, form a bond, which transcends the final track of the night. A bond between each other; between the artist and the dancer; between ourselves and the music. On '10 Years Stil vor Talent' we celebrate this bond and say 'Thank you'.

HouseDeepElectronicaTech

There are few names in dance music today which need less of an introduction than Masters At Work. The ground-breaking project of Louie Vega and Kenny Dope, Masters At Work forged a reputation for genre-eschewing DJ sets and flawless house production throughout their extraordinary careers, while their influence and reach changed house forever.

Taking the distinct and already highly praised production aesthetic of Vega and fusing it with Gonzalez's encyclopaedic knowledge of breaks and hip-hop, Masters At Work created an accessible yet defiantly underground sound that is still being copied and referenced - but crucially never bettered - by many of today's contemporary producers.

House Masters Masters At Work is the distillation of 25 years of both genre defining and genre defying moments: hand-picked compendium of original productions and remixes set over four expansive CDs.

Masters At Work have always operated according to their own rules and their own sound. Whether it's the sampling techniques of hip-hop, the swing of Latin styles or the soulful euphoria of house - they've always added their own special ingredients. This is what makes Masters At Work genuine dance music legends, and makes House Masters Masters At Work such an essential collection.

Pedram - Cloned (incl. Craig Richards & James Zabiela Re
BE011
BORN ELECTRIC
12inch13.06.201613.JUN.16

HouseDeepElectronica

Following massive props recently via industry tastemakers from FACT to Four Tet, Pedram's music continues to define him as an ever growing and exciting producer to check out; and with his latest track 'Cloned' this holds truer than ever.
Pedram doesn't fit into one particular electronic genre easily swimming up stream against the steady flow of tempo, style and sound.
Hard hitting and industrial, 'Cloned' forces you to stand to attention. Melodic and defiant, 'Cloned' teases your emotions. Pedram's crunching drums and upfront synths paint a picture of a hectic, dystopian scene set way in the future. While his signature layered sounds and gorgeous melodies are the constant flickering excitement that sits between.
James Zabiela introduces us to the darker side of this imaginary space. Teasing jungle samples, naughty acid licks and a tempo change at the halfway point, make this an undeniable head turner.
To complete this package Craig Richards (who rarely does remixes) decided to supply not 1, not 2, but THREE unbelievable remixes from Pedram's previous EP Lex, making this one for the collectors. Being at the longer duration of a club track, the remixes give the listener more time for thought while subconsciously carrying them to the rare and more colourful corners of a dark club.

Pedestrian - Pick Your Shots Clean / Airs & Graces
DAMA003
DAMA DAMA
12inch01.08.201601.AUG.16

HouseDeep

The third release from new imprint Dama Dama, is another offering from label co-founder Pedestrian; following the label's well-received debut EP - 'Circadian Rhythms' .
'Pick Your Shots Clean' is a track inspired by this spring's European Dama Dama Label Launch Tour, which saw founding members Pedestrian & Maribou State take to the road, curating bespoke parties with back to back all night DJ sets. As ever, the music itself is hard to categorise, but we would say that it sits somewhere between a rugged 90's Chemical Brothers track and a 70's Arabian psych-rock Record.
The flipside - 'Airs & Graces' - serves as a counter-balance (a kind of yang to the ying of the a-side), that picks up where Circadian Rhythms left off, taking the listener off on a melodic 5-minute trip. Currently gearing up to release a new signing in the Dama Dama camp, the team also have their sights set on the curation of festival stages, more intriguing night endeavors and a new mixtape series; all set for delivery over the coming months.
Pedestrian now with his sights firmly set on writing his debut LP, will be found at a number of festivals over the summer.

Aybee - The Odyssey
DBRCD004
Deepblak Records
CD02.02.201702.FEB.17

HouseDeepTechBeatsAmbient

* Deepblak's Chief Alchemist AYBEE will release his fourth full-length studio album, 'The Odyssey', in November 2016. As befitting its grand title, this newest long-player finds him concerned with personal journeys: both the personal one that has brought him to this point - living in Berlin, 15 years since founding Deepblak in his native Oakland - and the one that beckons for him personally and creatively in future: AYBEE sees himself as being halfway up a mountain, looking back on where he has come from, and to where he will be headed next - both concepts play a profound role in the emotional textures of the album, which in true Deepblak fashion draws from jazz, deep house, techno, hip hop, blues, experimentation, cinema, space, time and infinity.

* 'The Odyssey' represents a change-up for AYBEE in several ways, forged from a desire to keep expectations at bay and throw something of a curveball for those who felt they had him pegged: "a good pitcher always keeps you off balance". This newest work saw him deliberately limit his sound palette in a creative exercise that challenged him to create a full body of work from a small pre-selected library of sonic elements. While this was restricting in some aspects, the approach to - as he puts it - "throw the ingredients in a basket and cook with it later" gave him more freedom to focus on atmosphere and groove instead of putting hours into trying out different options - "otherwise I'd still be in the studio now trying to work out which hi-hat to use on the third track!"

* While the resulting collection of tracks, bound together in sounds used yet disparate in their applications of them, may represent a more accessible AYBEE album than those prior, it still contains within it the DNA of his work with Deepblak Rhythm Czar, Afrikan Sciences - most notably in their improvised, one-take album length Miles Davis homage 'Sketches of Space'. That 2014 LP was closely followed by another collaboration, with Jerome Sydenham and Ron Trent as S.A.T., released on the former's Ibadan Records and pursuing a more techno-driven sound to the polyrhythmic jazz experimentation of 'Sketches'. Elements of both styles can be found in 'The Odyssey', as it moves through tempos and styles, yet the approach he has taken regarding the sounds used ensures it will forever be a unique work in his discography - quite literally nothing in his work before or since will sound like this record.

* 'The Odyssey''s artwork is by the artist Grzegorz Redko (www.grzegorzredko.com), whose animations of the cover art will be released online ahead of the album release, lending another dimension to AYBEE's latest statement of artistic intent, with many more still to come as he keeps climbing that mountain.

In 2001 Aybee launched Deepblak Recordings as a creative outlet for his music. Ultimately catching the attention of Legendary House DJ/Producer Ron Trent. This chance meeting led to Trent signing Aybee to the iconic Prescription Records imprint. After joining the Prescription family AYBEE, along with Trent, would come together to co-found Prescription sub-label Future Vision, and go on to create music as the "Indigenous Space People", and later as S.A.T.

* "Ron was exposed to my music through a friend of his in NY. At this time, Ron was in the NY phase of his career and was a resident at the iconic "Giant Step" parties. I was heavily inspired by his USG output at the time, and I think it was reflected in my music. I would go out in the city to the house joints and hear all styles, but when that USG/Prescription stuff hit at like 3am, it was another level of depth... it was spiritual. "
