Known to bring groove into deepness, the brazilian producer may be showing his stronger record so far with "Intense EP". The A Side provides prime driving stuff while B Side take the mood to a more profound level.

After cutting his teeth supporting Berlin's Keinemusik crew, Fabian Braunbeck branches off with his own original EP. Moody & beautiful, its lush textures clearly show an artist who has paid attention while working with some of the industry's best, yet has a voice all his own, not to mention he's picked up a few tricks on the way. The EP's title track needs absolutely no introduction, just press play. We welcomed back our good friend Ruede Hagelstein to remix the a - side - and as the partyers at Panorama bar would agree now for weeks on end - "It Works!. The B-side is a much more percussive and moody affair - getting a remix from fellow Berliner Filburt who puts his own mark on the original's cornerstones.

Hudd Traxx 3rd installment of their 10th Anniversary series comes from Eddie Leader, Hector Moralez, Washerman, Brett Johnson & Rhythm Plate. Label owner Eddie Leader delivers a deep & moody house groover with the slick vocals of long time Hudd Artist Hector Moralez, aptly title 'Way Back'. Washerman picks the pace up with 'Twilite', which is reminiscent of legendary Detroit label Underground Resistance, and adds to the continued diversity of this project. Brett Johnson's 'Mr Smarty Pants' is re-released after gaining plays from the likes of Laurent Garnier and an edit by Dyed Soundorom. Closing out the EP are 2 of the most underrated Producers in the business; Rhythm Plate. 'Keep Moving' was Overshadowed by 'Inside Me' on the 'Robbin Hudd EP' in 2007 but is given it's time to shine on 'Now & Then Part 3' and is a fine addition to the 10 Year celebrations.

A Room for Babette is a Balearic House Funk bomb filled with sandy frolics and a touch of mayhem. Afterwards we hit the romance button. When Toby Tobias visited Ibiza he used to stay at an amazing B&B ran by Babette. She was one of the original party people of the island and would hang out with the likes of Grace Jones.
A Room for Babette echoes that summer madness only found on these islands in a certain time and place. The track starts off with that feeling of disorientation that perhaps a few midday holiday brews might bring on. An erratic beat and explosions rattle overhead, until the soothing sounds of a synthesised flute float in. Shortly after a saxophone joins in and the explosions start up again. It's at this point things start to get fun!
Tensions are rising and the boogie is starting to happen! Before long you're travelling at full tilt!Toby has been part of the London scene since breaking some shapes in the streets back in the 80's. He has seen genres come and go and all the while been adding to his record collection. In this track you can hear a cross pollination of Styles from Funk, House, Soca and even No Wave making for a DJ friendly track and has a genuinely rare style.
After the evening out on the town, it's time to go back to the chalet for a night of romance. Touch Meh is a one of the smoothest, romantic edits. Toby adds his magic to re-edit with the addition of some powerful drums making for a seriously raunchy track! The next day (On the flip of the EP) we meet up with Ptaki, everyone is feeling a little delicate so the boys take you to their favourite cove, or that's what it sounds like. A Room for Babette remix has been tamed beautifully to give a wholly relaxing track with the addition of an amazing string sample that sits perfectly in the groove. The explosions and erratic drums are gone leaving the sound of paradise. After a small visit to some dolphins a rhythm on the horizon can be heard and after a little while, we find ourselves in a trance, fully relaxed to the deep house sound of Ptaki. What an amazing holiday! .

Breach is an artist who has maintained an enviable position successfully straddling the gulf between commercial music the underground. Keeping his feet planted firmly on both sides his multi-faceted catalogue has touched Ramp/PTN, Pets Recordings and Dirtybird as well his own label Naked Naked through which he has pushed music from the likes of Midland, Dusky, Dark Sky and Lorca. Now, in the follow up to his latest EP alongside Cinnaman, Breach returns to AUS music who follow up releases from Bwana, Tom Demac and Youandewan and continue to persist with unparalleled consistency. Breach's 'Dim Sum' EP is a moody collection that reasserts his status as a producer who's just as capable of working with a stripped framework and smokey textures as he is with catchy melodies and vocal hooks. The title track kicks things off with a gravelly percussive loop that circles ahead of a passage of jarring synth stabs. The tenor dips again before dramatic acoustics build toward a wall of thick interweaving melodies. 'Anna Love' then lays a glassy sheet over tough, concrete percussion before Breach teases the filters on a bold and husky synth tone. 'Purple' then rolls out it's whittled elements as a disquieting vocal snippet, clipped percussion and a swelling synth tone rotate ahead of a plunge into a dense, aquatic effect as Breach continues to add dimensions to his catalogue and keep us guessing which direction he'll be taking next.

"Social Joy is a Sunday party with a residency in the London Fields Brewhouse, and a record label of the same name. AAUpcoming releases will embody the unpretentious, free-spirit sound of Social Joy! The first release is an EP from founder Guilhem Monin, which shows a development in the young producer's sound. AA Lead track Social Music features an infectious disco-sample which is an instant call to the dancefloor, whereas the second A-side I Plan To Stay A Believer, is a much deeper cut, with a hypnotic groove. AOn the flip is VLG, a collaboration with saxophonist Leonardo Milano de Cuba, which is jazzy and jaunty in equal measures.A Concluding this dancefloor-diverse EP, is the aquatic sounding People, which utilizes an insistent one-word vocal over a classic house bassline that punches through the track's message."

Following recent releases from Vakula, Alex Danilov and Andrey Zots, Arma turns its focus towards the unique, transcendental sound of Hypnobeat. The project has its roots in the DIY industrial scene of Frankfurt in the early '80s, spearheaded by Perlon affiliate James Dean Brown (Narcotic Syntax) in collaboration with artists including Tobias Freund, Victor Sol and Pietro Insipido. Aside from a few underground cassette releases, the project was mainly a live venture made up of polyrhythmic workouts on an array of drum machines and effects units, long before the practice became so fashionable. After many years in the wilderness, Hypnobeat received a shot in the arm thanks to the increased interest in obscure tapes from the early industrial period. Given her own modern explorations of raw drum machine science, Brown invited Helena Hauff to join him in performing Hypnobeat live with a setup that revolves around three 808s and an assortment of other rhythm boxes, a formidable arsenal of effects, and no preconceived plan. As well as shows at Les Siestes Electroniques and CTM (where the duo shook the walls of Berghain), Brown and Hauff were invited to perform for the Save Festival at Arma17 in Moscow in March 2015. It is from this set that the material on Ritual Fire Dance is gathered, aptly titled as the interlocking percussive rumble takes on a cyclical, tribal quality as aligned with traditional music as it is with contemporary electronics. The recording has been edited into two sections that adorn each side of the 12", peppered with enthusiastic approval from the crowd to affirm the intensity of the moment this incendiary music was performed live. As well as the widespread vinyl release there will be a limited cassette featuring the entire unedited performance, for those seeking the full hit

'The Right Way' takes familiar soul-funk vocals and orchestrates them with pure raw sentiment. Is it love, is it lust, is it right, is it wrong Is it unrequited, is it mutual Are we together or alone It's all in this track! 'Kick It' is a rhythm study. The groove swings hard from the first bar to the last snare-clap combo of the track. Accents of organs and euphoric strings punch in and out adding suspense and excitement. 'Ouroboros' is, as you'd expect from recent LSR releases, the EP's cosmic exploration. The melody is composed of galactically reverberating elements as if observing matter on a universal scale. It all flows infinitely, while crunchy beats are the precise mathematical equations that decipher these gravity-distorted images of existence into sharp glimpses of emotion.

The next release on Innervisions comes from icy Finland, home of Säkhö and so much other great music. Mr. Rantanen aka Lil' Tony is not only a close friend, but also an artist we really like. It's great that finally this friendship lead to a full release on Innervisions.

After coming with a pretty great electronic soft jazz number on the first release, Distant Works begins to define the mission behind the label with the second offering-a synth, Italo-esque 5-cut EP that would only come from somewhere in the Netherlands these days. The label bosses are clearly up to go to distant places to deliver the sounds. It's a very impressive statement and raises our interest on future releases

April will see Alex Danilov, notable DJ and producer from Yekaterinburg, release his music on Arma. Published along with 'reshape' by Fred P., three original tracks constitute the Noises EP — the second release of the label in 2016. Being welcomed to diverse clubs throughout Russia and Europe, Alex Danilov has all the experience needed to know how dance music works. His own productions are about finding the way to sustain deep mystic atmosphere within signature low-pass rhythm picture. Side B, containing both original and remix of 'Unknown Numbers', shows how this approach varies from classy style of Fred P. aka Black Jazz Consortium. Noises EP is the 12th release by Arma. The cover features artwork by P.Kuznetsov.

The inaugural edition of '8-track' bears Cristoph's name and will serve to showcase his strength as a producer and unforgivingly confuse those still stuck in a world where house music and techno are separated by propped-up dividers. No stranger to the international club circuit, festival scene and record crates of his peers, Cristoph is a producer and DJ fixated on integrity, with influence equal part Windy and Motor city.
The albums first single 'Closer' features the vocal contribution of the highly promising singer, producer and songwriter Jinadu. Setting the tone to flow like a DJ Set, the opening track delicately colours the album with a strong emotive entrance. A track that captures both the infectiousness of house music neatly alongside ambient music's welcoming aura.

Axe On Wax's Axe Traxx drops its second hand-stamped vinyl only release, a split EP featuring originals from Trudge and Die Roh.
After the well received first release, Axe Traxx returns with another collection of rough, raw, filtered house killer tracks.
The raw in your face filtered House of Parisian talent Trudge and the always splendidly crafted grooves of Sagat and DJ octopus, aka Die Roh. Trudge's 'Give' sounds like a mix between Mall Grab and Ross From Friends, between Church and Lobster Theremin: a distorted and in part broken 909 beat guides the cut, whilst a slow melodic loved up vocal creates the perfect summery vibe.

"Ess O Ess are back home on Not An Animal, with a track that both continues and develops their recognisable motif. After two years in the making, Aus Music, !K7 and Wordandsound are proud to announce the release of Scottish producer Sei A's third full length, Space in Your Mind. Two singles from the ten track opus-'Ancestors' and 'Space In Your Mind,' complete with DJ Tennis remixes-will come ahead of the full release on February 26th 2016. Sei A is Andy Graham, an ever-evolving producer who has cooked up many different shades of house and techno since emerging in 2008. From dark and melodic to well swung and bass heavy, he is not one to repeat the same trick twice as two former LPs and more than 15 EPs on labels like Turbo, Life And Death, Kompakt and Aus/Simple have proved before now. As if to cement the point, this full length finds Graham straying from the dance floor to cook up a fulsome album that stands up to introspective home listening. The LP came from writing a lot of music in a short space of time,' says Graham. I felt I had grasped a sound and I wanted to expand it further. Musically I was finding that the material had much more space within the sound, with the main structure of it being melodies, therefore giving it quite a rich feel throughout. I was also aiming to expand on writing actual songs that take in verse/chorus, verse/chorus structures.' And he has sure accomplished that, because with the help of guest collaborators Will Samson and Daudi Matsiko on four tracks, Space in Your Mind is an absorbing listen with many melodies and vocal lines lingering long in the memory.

Son Dexter is a talented producer who released two fantastic eps on Larry Heard´s Alleviated in the early 2000´s. His influences are really extensive and diverse: deep house, funk, pop, hiphop, jazz, broken beat, rock, T-Bone Walker, Black Science Orchestra, Miles Davis, Lenny Kravitz, Al Di Meola, The Intruders...and you can feel that in this Eternity ep. When the canadian artist sent them this 4 tracks ep, the Downbeat guys could not believe what they was hearing here.

Dance 2017 is a new various artists EP series and compilation from the Secretsundaze camp. This is the first release from the label after a year hiatus and sees Fred P, Nubian Mindz and James Priestley & Marco Antonio Spaventi feature.
Fred P's contribution is a direct club track with a familiar sample! Nubian Mindz who has been producing under various guises for many years steps up with the deadly Testing Theories coming on like some of Photek's more techno leaning material.
Last up is a woozy, unreleased Aybee remix of James Priestley & Marco Antonio's Baia 2012.

Landing straight after 415-PR10, Public Release's first in a loose series of San Francisco-centric compilations, this three-track 12-inch is a further exploration of the Bay Area's sounds and aesthetics, though here it's explored via remixes produced by friends from abroad.The A-side is a complete overhaul, reimagining, and extension of Anonstop's 'Seaside' by Thee Loving Hand, Tim Goldsworthy's solo moniker of choice these days. The ex-DFA Records co-founder and former member of UNKLE took the tune's Balearic foundation and used it as a bed for what one might mistake as a lost Arthur Russell cut from the World of Echo era. Joel Wells lent his airy, light, sweet vocals to the track, while Darren Morris added synth work to bolster Tim's usual production genius. It's carefree and emotive, the aural equivalent of a big, toothy smile.The flip features a mix that's a whole helluva lot more intense and uptempo, though no less positive than it's original. Chida's remix of 'Domination' is squarer and housier than Be´zier's piece, which was glitzy classic disco dunked in Italo, but enough of it remains to be unmistakably a spinoff. Fiery and propulsive in the way a Gulfstream jet is, it's a ball of thunder that will electrify any set, any dance floor.

"In July last year we tweeted that we'd found the first tune for Anjunadeep 08. A year and a half later and we're finally ready to reveal 08 to the world. A lot of love and care has gone into this, our 4th compilation together, and with the opportunity to create so many of our own remixes and edits this time, it's undoubtedly been our deepest and most rewarding collaboration to date. Audiojack had a great 2014 with a collaborative release alongside LCD Soundsystem's Nancy Whang, EP's on Defected, 2020Vision and Tsuba, and remixes of Romanthony and Hot Since 82 surfacing, here we see the ever on-point duo open up 2015 with some fresh material for their very own Gruuv label.


Since launching Gruuv back in 2010 the pair have unleashed material from the likes of Huxley, Jimmy Edgar, Darius Syrossian, Copy Paste Soul, A1 Bassline and Phil Weeks, testament to their broadly attentive A&R approach with the imprint. Now a year deep into their relocation to Ibiza, Audiojack have left behind their former UK influenced sound palette, and instead embraced their surroundings to envelop new material with the stripped back style of electronic music their new home turf is known for.


The EP opens up with 'Scarlett Groove' and sees the duo provide their typically rugged drum style layered up with chuggy sub-bass tones, while a wandering synth licks sporadically meanders into the groove to create a looming, mesmeric vibe.


'Luna' follows and tips the focus over to a more ethereal feel with floaty atmospherics and murmuring vocal chops, while the bubbling percussion and gritty bass stabs draw you into the smooth, yet mind-bending rhythm.


Lastly to round up the three-tracker we have 'Psychonaut' which sees Audiojack lay down a raw, percussion-led workout, instilled with subtle details and intricate processing layered in the depths of the composition. As expected we're treated to three classy, dance floor focused records here, making it a fantastic way to mark 40 releases for Gruuv

Past releases - Crosstown Rebels, One Records, Leftroom Limited and FFRR Party Affiliations - Circoloco, Flying Circus, Luciano & Friends INTO YOU aka Achille Soardi, the Italian producer and artist, born in the beloved Lake Garda region, connects with the dancefloor through his undeniable and fresh talents. As a young artist Achille grew up on Punk Rock and Hip Hop from the US but soon found his love for techno, a genre which he would later DJ at parties across France and Italy, alongside LTZ Sound System amongst various other crews. It was these initial exploits in Electronic music that helped him explore the diverse nature of rhythm and sound, an interest that only intensified upon arriving in London. It was the UK's underground that helped Achille (then affiliated with his former alias Kende) further his craft, mastering intricate grooves, warped soundscapes and warm, low-end frequencies. In order to create a platform for his musical expressions, Achille set up Lokomotiv Recordings, which launched with 'The Dark Side of the Spoon' accompanied by remixes from Bodycode, Alex Bau and Mauro Alpha. This release, plus further collaborative EPs with the likes of Valentino Kanzyani and Francesca Lombardo, quickly established Lokomotiv as a label to watch. Achille was soon playing at numerous gigs across the UK, enabling him to showcase his unique sound to a wider audience. Today Achille is operating under his new moniker INTO YOU, a name that will be inaugurated by the forthcoming 'Perfect Blue' EP, due out on Francesca Lombardo's recently established Echoe label. This release will be followed by a collection of remixes on the same imprint later on in the year.
