All We Want is Vario Volinski. You may recognize his name from one of the summer tunes of 2013 - Falling in Love. With All I Want, Mr. Volinski created a tune that is more garage style than the things he did before. Proving, that his previous summer tune wasn´t a one hit wonder and that he surely is one of the producers to watch in the future. And PWU wasn´t PWU if we didn´t find a talented young gun as a remixer. So we found him. Dan Grassler. A guy from munich who convinced us from the very beginning. And his remix AWESOME!

Dungeon Meat is the new label and production outfit brought to you by Dungeon Masters Brawther and Tristan da Cunha. Packing a serious punch, it's aim is to present tracks designed specifically to rock the party and shake the sound system. Originally conceived as a platform for their own musical visions it soon became apparent that they would have to open the doors to a select few who shared their ambition to make no messing, hard hitting house grooves. One of these artists is the mysterious Blunt Instrument who has the honour of kicking off the label. After road testing his huge club hammer "Hold Back" Brawther and da Cunha knew it had to be on Dungeon Meat as it epitomised exactly the sound they wanted to present. "Hold Back" has been a firm fixture in their sets and even got cut to dubplate by Jeremy Underground Paris. It's not all about the a-side though as Blunt Instrument crafts 2 other killer club cuts for the flip side We won't go on too much trying to describe how good this EP is ... instead we'll let the music do the talking.

Release 2 on Red Rack'ems new sample heavy 'from the vaults' vinyl only label Nettles comes from Australian B Boy house-head Jules Inkswel. Nettles is all about releasing the CDR specials that Red Rack'em has been dropping in his club sets over the years and he first heard the tracks on this release in 2012 when staying in Melbourne with Jules while on tour in Australia.
Music was shared, drunken fights ensued and donuts were thrown in faces. The tracks lay forgotten for quite a while in a folder called 'Inkswel Stuff' until recently when Rack'em began to play them out and the response was totally off the chain.
So in the spirit of getting the good onto the streets again - here's Inxxxwels Sativa Edits Vol. 1! Lipstick N Blushin is the audio encapsulation of Desperately Seeking Susan being trapped in an elevator with Mesopotamia era B52s sound tracked with strictly analogue gear. Proper NYC coked out doe eyed schlocky vibes right here. Bed Sores is some old school Enjoy era disco rap being chopped up for maximum dancefloor potential.
Alicia Love James is a big room boogie soul banger which never fails to rock the spot. For Taki 183 is a street tuff trip back in time. Heavy beats and rhymes combine to give dancefloor some shine.

J Velez aka Jorge Velez recorded these tracks on various analog machines in the mid to late nineties in his home studio in Jersey City. The tracks never really left his studio until recently. His catalog only holds a view releases, most notable his recent L.I.E.S. Release as Professor Genius. His music, lovingly produced and directly recorded on tape, should evoke instant listening excitement to electronic music connaisseurs for it sounds warm, dusty, otherworldly, soulful and creamy.. ll that good stuff. If we didn't know better, we would have guessed early 90's Detroit. But it's late 90's Neww jersey

22a's eleventh release comes from Sterling Styles. A newcomer to the 22a roster, Sterling offers two cuts of classic garage, originally recorded in 1998. If you know about 22a then you'll know what to expect. Limited to 500 this is a release not to be missed.

STL has been a firm favourite of Phonica Records ever since his first releases surfaced in the early 2000s. Although he is highly revered within the underground scene, he's always kept a low profile and consistently pursued his own blend of boundary pushing abstract and experimental House & Techno. The majority of his music has been released through his own 'Something' imprint but his unique productions have also found a home on Perlon, Smallville and Detroit's Echospace. The two tracks on 'The Amplified Bleep Package' EP marks his first contribution to Phonica's white label series and we're extremely happy have him on board. Earworm' on the A side is a rough and rugged house cut comprised of dusty analogue kicks, warm tape hiss and gritty percussion that locks you into an irresistible groove straight from the start. This is an energetic, club-ready late night stepper.
Flipside you'll find an entirely different vibe to the heavily distorted 'Earworm'. Clocking in at just under ten minutes, 'A Cat And Her Solar Life' is a cosmic journey filled with beautiful synth melodies and harmonics.

Editorial return with another killer EP with some of the leaders in the Edit's scene featuringTony Tee, Arequipa Ensemble,Stereo 12" & Woodhead... Pressed on grey vinyl...

Here we see Italian brother duo Elia and Niro Perrone, release their debut long player in the shape of 'Pescaiola' the name of the suburbs the pair grew up and paying homage to their musical roots growing up together.

Across the duration of the 'Pescaiola' LP Easy To Remember serve up a amalgamation of raw and intriguing electronic, house and techno cuts. Opener 'Hanckora' lays down a lo-fi infused Hip Hop style to kick things off, while 'Checkma Dem' lies in similar territory with the addition of some vocal stylings as well.

For the most part though Easy To Remember lay the focus on emotive house music, title track 'Pescaiola' plays on multi-layered melodies and retro synths, 'Hijack Percussion' focuses on gritty rhythm and soft atmospherics and 'Try To Escape' brings to light ethereal synth leads and snaking bass grooves. The duo instil some funk influence into the LP as well via 'Feelings' and some experimental touches as well with their Giulio Etiope collaboration 'Degolas' amongst others. All in all Easy To Remember deliver a refreshing take on modern electronica across the project and further prove Unclear is a force to be reckoned with in the underground.

Martinez returns to Concealed Sounds and delivers a wicked two track 12" of that deep hypnotising sound that we know him for of late. This record kicks off with "The Path" a 10 min journey though sub bass, glitchy rhythms and haunting high pitched sounds. A perfect tune for that late hours on the dance floor! On the B side we find "Wigflipped" a twisted little number of minimalistic funk. Cut up voices, bleeps, broken rhythms and a light but powerful kick drum make up the foundation of this
track. The kick drums switches constantly between 4/4 and breakbeat, making the main groove ever developing. A bit into this 14 min piece some dark rhodes chords are taking over leading it forward. With its swirling and hypnotising feeling through out, its a perfect tune for the after hour. As always we have something extra hidden on this vinyl... We hope you will enjoy this 12" as much as we at the Concealed Sounds office has.

Rediscovered 80's British acid house gem 'Cortina Kidz' recently made a serious impact on Andy Butler's Mr. Intl with remixes from Factory Floor and Juan Maclean & Tim Sweeney. Hot on the heels, Moscow's Lipelis' steps in to remix with striking results.
Pitchfork enthused of the recent reissue being 'a chilly acid-house track operating the influence of both Soft Cell and the Specials,' XLR8R as 'drenched in dark and sleazy overtones, the track encapsulates a downtrodden time in London', while Ransom Note noted 'Cortina Kidz is more than just an old skool oddity- it's a banger that's stood the test of time'.
Originally recorded on London's Stoke Newington Road in 1987, produced by a young Tim Brinkhurst ahead of his imminent record deal with Virgin Records with his band Soho, and long before his current role as manager of Mercury Prize winners, Young Fathers, 'Cortina Kidz' remained undiscovered and the eccentric spoken word overlay and weird lead vocal made it very unlike the prevailing dance music sound of the time.
Leonid Lipelis explains that 'since it's a reissue of a relatively unknown record it gave me a certain freedom of expression (when it's something well known and classic you're likely to produce something more serious). I came up with more of a pop song, structured with a vocoder for the main version and had fun playing with vocal samples for the dub mix, paying homage to the 80s sound in both." Lipelis' recent release on LIES records has gained him support from Four Tet to Dimitri from Paris. He also runs a side project for hardware jams called TMO and co-runs Low Budget Family records.

Rebirth 10 marks the 10th Anniversary of Rebirth Records.
It's a special compilation, spread over 2 CDs, selected and mixed by the legendary Larry Heard Aka Mr. Fingers, including some of the key releases of the label in this first 10 years plus a couple of unreleased tracks.

Established by Daniele 'Shield' Contrini in 2006, Rebirth Records has surely grown up over the years into one of the most respected Italian independent labels. A series of high impact releases alongside a focused and strong promotional work, have helped to enhance the reputation and credibility of Rebirth.
The label owner Shield remembers 'The first release was a record that had been in my bag for years. I just wondered why not resurfacing it again with a new remix and a vocal version and that's what I did. And If 'Finest Dream' feat. Alison Limerick was ready, remixed by Silicone Soul'. Shield continues 'The philosophy behind the label finds its roots in the past, building a link between the soul of a song and the warmth of a melody then combining them with a contemporary sound. I'm always looking for something timeless, something that I can imagine to still listen to in 20 or 40 years time. Collaborations with artists like Shara Nelson, Tracey Thorn, Ben Onono and recently Antena have been essential moments for us. In this first 10 years we released music from established artists like Joey Negro, Michel Cleis, Agoria, Butch, Marc Romboy, Freaks, Rampa and Blond:ish. We had remixes from incredibly names like Motor City Drum Ensemble, Deetron, Radio Slave, Tensnake, Morgain Geist, Henrik Schwarz, Andrès, Joe Claussell, Soul Clap, Jimmy Edgar and Ripperton. And had the pleasure to bring to the attention of the big audience new talents such as NUfrequency, Tevo Howard, Robytek, Trio / Bocca Grande, Alison Marks / Wallflower, Corrado Bucci, Chromatic Filters, James Teej and Villanova'

Talking about the celebratory compilation Shield says 'Who better than Larry Heard could do it for us He delivered a mix that embodies the soul and the different facets of the label. Larry, as well as having remixed three songs for the label, is among the producers who had written the history of a musical genre and one of the names who most have influenced our music. The cover of the CD is designed by Emil Schult, who has created some special images for the occasion. Visiting him in his studio in Dusseldorf and breathing his Kraftwerk experience has been an unforgettable moment. I'm really pleased they both agreed to work on this project'.

Having done remix work for labels such as Yoruba, King Street and Reel People and working with artists such as Tortured Soul, Daz-I-Kue, AtJazz, John Arnold & Jeremy Ellis, it's now time to welcome Ezel to the Local Talk family with 'Get Down'.
Opening is the title track 'Get Down (Original Mix)', with its immersive chords, bumping bassline and the help from the unmistakeable vocal talents of Tumelo, it's House the way we like it. Both soulful and deep.On the B-side Ezel serves us a remix of Get Down. There's no denying in that there's a strong Osunlade 'Envisionesque' feel to this one - and that's a good thing !
An absolute must for every DJ's bag, trust us.
Finally production heavyweight Atjazz revisits the glory of the Bayacou Mix but focuses more on the finer tweaks, it's all in the details folks.

Out as a vinyl-only offering on 15th July 2016, GTi005 is the first official release from Forever, a talent who pulls influence from nostalgic jungle and rave genres, as well as elements from classic house and grime. A1 'Coarse' is a blissful, liquid-like journey that plays on Forever's broad range of influences, think haunting melodies mixed with a jungle-like drum foundation for a masterpiece that aligns itself to not one genre. Track two 'Invaders' is a murkier, spaced-out number with a squelching bass, one for the after-hour sessions. An industrial vibe echoes across 'Invaders' five minutes, and the track holds transcendental, meditative quality aligned to Forever's 2013 track 'Playfights.'

Turning over to side B, Grade 10 invite house icon MR. G to step up for a 'Coarse' remix that adds his signature flair to the original, turning 'Coarse' into a raw, acid-tinged track.

Manchester's Rainy City Music continues to celebrate 20 years of the record label in 2016 and continue the success of the last two vinyl releases by Dele Sosimi Afrobeat Orchestra, via their own label and also with Berlin's Innervisions label.
The 20 year celebration is also riding high on the current huge success of the re-issue of their second ever release from 1996 by City People 'It's All In The Groove', now available again by the hugely popular artist Motor City Drum Emsemble.
This new release by artists Irfan Rainy & Rex Leon is a 4 trk EP from their digi LP titled Cross Step Drag, a reference to the House Dance culture from New York City. The four tracks released here highlight the huge variety in styles of House Music created by the Mancunian duo. The A side's track one 'VODUN' is simply Voodoo / Tribal House Music for lovers of the old school Jovonn sound. Track 2 'SMASH THE SILENCE' is a brand new version of previous digital only release where Afrobeat & House Music are combined. It features the rasping vocals of Lagos based Nigerian actress Vera E and the definite influence of Fela Kuti.Â
Flip to the B side and get to the deep dark twisted underworld of Black America via 'SNOOP STORY (ODE TO THE WIRE)' and you hear one of the moodiest dance records you will ever hear and a tragic story of Snoop, one of The Wire's best performers from the cult tv series. The final track on the EP MANC UNION DUB is a Dub House groove where ghostly Brazilian Candomble vibes meet the electronic dub beats of Rhythm And Sound.
Rounding off a hugely varied four track sampler receiving support from a huge cross sections of DJs including DANNY KRIVIT, AT JAZZ, RAHAAN, KAI ALCE, MAD MATS, OSUNLADE, KARIZMA, SEVERINO (HORSE MEAT DISCO), DJ SPINNA & MARCELLUS PITTMAN.

Sing With Me: Much in the same vein of the Mannheim house sound made popular by artists like Johnny D, Nick Curly, Christian Burkhardt etc..Brett's gives us a deep but driving track centered around an African boy singing. Brett chops the sample up to create a choir of ethereal voices to support the boy's singing. As the track progresses it takes a left turn into weirdville through some dramatic synth tweaks & sweeps.
