Hugo Lx lands on the Courtesy of Balance Recordings planet with an exquisite ipiece of House music on wax. Inspired by his travels across Japan, these tracks will cater for most djs and music lovers alike. From the powerful and Dubby "Low Altitude" to the slow burner of "Kansai Kick it", Hugo Lx showcases some of his musical ability and talent. Hugo is the former production mastermind behind The Funk League, and the frenchman's hip-hop roots take his music production take on House music back to it's roots! Hugo Lx is the latest addition to the legacy of french underground house producers! Nuff said.. Drop the needle on the record!

The three tracks they came up with travel in many different directions. Speaking directly to all the dreamers, the result is a surprising cross-over in which synthesized European music gets injected by imaginary tropical visions.
The record is opening with the inner mind percussive ambient « Chekema », an animistic incantation that will please all those who see parties as modern ritual gatherings.
The jazzy wave of « Get Enough » cracks open the B-side. It's a foggy street jam in which the cold CR-68 rhythm balances perfectly with the warm organ chords of the Crumar.
Closing things off is the spectral reggae song 'Love So High', a desperate cry from a polar explorer stranded on an iceberg drifting towards the Carribean. Heartbreaking.

Magic Feet release another split EP that touches on a variety of weird, wonderful and hugely atmospheric dancefloor moods.
Label boss Craig Bratley takes care of one side, his companions on the label's latest vinyl voyage are fresh-faced Lithuanian audio-visual explorers Roe Deers. Best-friends Liudas and Oskaras have been producing, DJing and performing together for some time, "Kukushka", the track showcased here, marks their debut release.
It's an impressive debut, too. Built around metallic percussion hits, chugging post-punk attitude, tipsy textures and the sound of broken cuckoo clocks, 'Kukushka' is a throbbing dancefloor excursion blessed with an otherworldly atmosphere. It's the musical equivalent of finding a wormhole round the back of a sprawling industrial estate, and then stepping inside to have a look around. Label regular and fast-rising French wunderkind Markus Gibb provides a stellar remix, teasing out the track's post-punk and industrial elements whilst adding a heady air of horror-influenced late night mysticism. Breathe in the rarefied air, and then run for your life.
Bratley handles the flipside, charging off in a bolder direction with a rucksack full of analogue gear for company. On 'Raw Tracks' he channels the spirit of Britain's bleep-and-bass pioneers, layering clattering drum machine hits, twisted electronics, ragged acid lines and alien melodies atop a hefty, speaker-shaking bassline, in other words, it more than lives up to its' title.
Bratley changes course on 'Night Moves', the EP's closing salvo. This time, it's the throbbing electronics, fluttering synthesizer lines and sharp digital melodies that catch the ear, rising and falling above a metronomic, early morning groove. The bassline bubbles along menacingly, impressively underpinning Bratley's head-in-the-clouds electronics in the process. It's a pleasingly positive end to an EP of carefully considered darkness.

Armando Gallop, the legendary Chicago producer & DJ whose career was tragically cut short by his death in 1996 left behind a legendary reputation as one of the windy city's finest. Having released on seminal labels such as; Trax, Musique, Westbrook and his own Warehouse imprint, Armando brought his own rough hewn brand of machine Funk and acid to the table and the dance music world has been much better off for it since.

"The New World Order Level 3" is a collection of Armando's tracks running through various styles and sounds; Acid, Disco infected bangers, crazy Chi-town jack tracks and much more. This collection is a great overview of some of Armando's lesser known tracks and has always been a tough one to track down, it also features the storming "Pleasuredome" that was recently comped on Nina Kraviz' stellar DJ Kicks mix among a clutch of other lesser known gems. An essential addition to any Chicago lovers record collection, essential original House music!

Craig Bratley's critically acclaimed debut album was released late 2014 receiving plaudits from RA, FACT, Future Music, Ransom Note & Mixmag who made it Disco album of the month.
For Record Store Day 2015 the legendary Ewan Pearson has delivered a stunning remix of 'Mannequin', in both vocal & instrumental versions.

Amsterdam based Cubicolor have established themselves as one of house music's most exciting new names, with early singles 'Next Planet' and 'Got This Feeling' picking up support from the underground all the way up to BBC Radio 1's Pete Tong.

Their first release of 2015, the 'Magnum EP' sees them develop their warm, indie-leaning melodic sound with three beautiful cuts first heard in their recent Anjunadeep Edition mix. Title track 'Magnum' is a luscious rolling juggernaut, driven by head-in-the-clouds melodies and anthemic, glowing chords.

'Moments' shows off Cubicolor's moodier side, weaving eerie melodies around a techy groove. Huge bass notes combine with snare drum blasts before an epic heads-down, hands-up breakdown paves the way for dancefloor euphoria.

Slow-burning third track 'All Zero' drops the tempo, as chugging percussion, arpeggiated keys and distorted vocal samples combine in ethereal fashion. Beautiful haunting strings add an elegiac touch as Cubicolor close the latest addition to their already impressive catalogue.

Since "Slice Of Life", his last EP release on Moon Harbour, Dan Drastic has been anything but idle. He's released on Luna Records and Rrygular and contributed several tracks to the Moon Harbour compilations "Ten Years of Moon Harbour" and "Moon Harbour Joints Vol. 2".

Since 2009, Vincent Koreman a.k.a. Drvg Cvltvre has been working on his own blend of dystopian acid, no wave and dooms day deephouse , which he proved impressively on his release on Crème Organization or Porn Wax. For his Permanent Vacation release he is perfecting his methods and style , which is equally influenced by Suicide, Sun Ra and Terrence Dixon. On remix duties for 'Night Time Is the Right Time' is original chief rocker and Omar S protégé OB Ignitt who puts some extra swing on top and makes sure that it is always the right time for this one.

"White Winter Lust" is the third release by Ekkohaus, a Greek artist living in Berlin, on Cargo Edition. Throughout the last two years Ekkohaus's music has constantly developed towards a deep house sound which has always been an element in his tracks

Adonis' comically named "Endless Pokers" project is no joke, in fact, this is some serious Chicago ACID House!

Originally released in 1987 and featuring Adonis' trademark staccato drum machine rhythms, creeping acid lines and cowbells "The Poke" is a classic (Watch out for those vocal stabs too!).

All 3 mixes featured on this 12" bring something new to the table, twisting and turning that acid line into a frenzied buzz. This is pure old school business, Chicago style! Raw, simple box jams of the highest order! A definite essential, a record like this in the right hands can produce some devastating effects and still sounds incredibly fresh today.

Giovanni Damico (White Rabbit Recordings/Ragrange Records - Salerno) is maybe the most productive producer we've ever come across. And we're not just talking quantity, we're talking quality! For Geography Records sixth release we've had so much fantastic material to choose from so we decided to put out two EP's by Giovanni. The first one is called "Cuttin, Samplin, Housin Part One'.
Ranging from the kind of beautiful house music Geography has been known for since the release of Julius Steinhoff's epic Out In The Woods EP back in 2011 on the A-side to the more fun loving style of the B-side, reminding us of our two latest Top 40 hit-records by Real Cool and Shakarchi & Stranéus.

Finally Abstract Theory is back with a new vinyl release after several months. For a good reason, in fact the original track comes from the amazing artist, singer and songwriter Kaysand. The winter's almost gone and Luettje Luise's Mama comes out of hibernation. With a new playground at home, it will take a talented hand to prepare for the upcoming spring. Along comes Nutia, sowing his seeds of "Raounuor". "Fischbahn" (A1) is a decent wake up call for the early birds facing their way back north to the deep woods of "Schweden" (A2). Here, Nutia serenades those old inhabitants with a rattling melody, and sends them on their way with heads still light. "Em Pessoa" (B1) tinkles on the flipside: a lullaby of constant perpetuation, which echoes its way through the mesmerising labyrinth of trees and bushes, only to be heard by the lonesome "Deer" (B2), who answers with the most gentle mating call these woods have ever heard.

Back in 2013, Futureboogie released The Fade EP by Outboxx, a record that received critical acclaim from the who's who of music press, helping to propel Outboxx on the upward trajectory they've managed to maintain since those early releases. Unsurprisingly, Futureboogie are delighted to get the pair back for more.
Having developed their sound in the two years since, the pair has refined the raw ingredients of those records to show a combined maturity beyond their collective years. Previously the pair of producers (Matthew Lambert and Jake 'Hodge' Martin) have released music on respected independent imprints such as BRSTL, Idle Hands, Well Rounded Records and Local Talk; honing their analogue rich sound that touches on the hard edge of drum machine rhythms crafted by Hodge and the harmonic, jazz soaked embellishments from Lambert on Keys.
'Day One' opens with the sound of a string sample drifting behind warm drums to beautifully open up proceedings. As the track develops with an explosion of shuffling hi hats, the main hook enters with more than a nod to the classic Acid basslines of a 303, built to hypnotize dancers into the early hours with subtle simplicity.
The EP's title track 'Under The Lights' shows the pairs appreciation of Disco, with overdriven drums and a dotting bassline setting the feel. As the track develops, elements of Detroit enter the picture, with more string samples setting the key, and further allowing Lambert to contribute more of his signature Jazz licks as the track winds down to an unwanted close.
'Gift of Life' features the always-beautiful vocal contributions from long-term collaborator, Naomi Jeremy. Having featured on some of their most memorable releases to date, Jeremy's vocals again add a complexity often found in Jazz, but with the drum machine funk of 90's House; creating a sound that blurs the lines between sampling and original composition, uniquely, as only Outboxx can.
The record ends on the appropriately named 'Closing Titles', a track seemingly built to allow Lambert the opportunity to show his prowess and mastery of melody and harmony. Creeping basslines and warm chords mix with looped drum machine rhythms to wind down the release elegantly, showing the pairs versatility and understanding of each other's strengths.

The French duo of Eric Guillanton and Seb Fouble are Remote, a pair charged with serving up the next release on the ever-excellent

Meant label. This twosome has been active for more than a decade now, releasing LPs and EPs on labels like Kill The DJ, Zone and

Fondation as well of course Meant to which they return now two years after their label debut. Here they serve up two new ghetto

tinged, darkened electro tracks that come complete with remixes from Fairmont and Headman.



'Minos' is a tense track with arpeggiated lines and insistent synth stabs that bring to mind the nicotine stained dark wave sensibilities

of a twisted afterhours set. Fractured vocals blurt in and out to keep you on a paranoid edge and the gritty bassline is of the sort

Andrew Weatherall usually employs when recording as The Asphodells. The remix from Fairmont - a Canadian producer of many EPs

and LPs that blur lines between electronic music and rock often on My Favorite Robot - strips back some of the edgy clutter and

allows the ambient synths to set a much more cautious mood. It's only at the mid-point that the kick drum lands and drives things

forward like a spaceship heading toward the last city on earth.



Remote's next offering 'Easy' is another seedy brew of analogue

machines, spiralling bass that seems to keep you trapped in one spot and sharp edged percussion. It's a masterfully restrained

track in which not much more happens, but you always feel it might, and that's the beauty of it. To close out another solid package from

Meant, Robi Insinna aka Headman (who is at home working with nu-disco machine fetishists like Scott Fraser) tackles the remix.

His version places more emphasis on licking bass guitar riffs, molten synth puddles and metallic finger clicks, all of which work

into an insalubrious soup of dark energy, skulduggery and late night mischief.

Emma's third strike comes from STUFF, one of France's most exciting new talents. To Have Fun and Pretender are only two examples of his producer skills but they already give you an impression of his work! The remixes from British dream team Matthew Burton & Kate Rathod and Noir Music's Kevin Over move the tracks again in a very different light. Kevin ensures the correct pressure and made the track work for the late night sessions, Matthew and Kate deliver a very experimental sound especially for after hours and set openings. Enjoy!

Aesthetic Circle Records is an independant Rouen-based label founded in 2009 and run by Nimä Skill.
Working on the deep side of techno & House music, we already released 27 EP and LP as digital download. round one is the first
release on Vinyl. A Various Artists, a first panorama of the Aesthetic Circle Records back catalogue.
A1 is "Multiplexing" by B Mus, German artist that released music on Komplex Audio, Deepindub.org or Sublime Port. The track is a
reminiscence of the Basic Channel spirit. A deep and dubby track captivates you right after a few seconds with it's pulsating sequences and a subtle growing energy-level from break to break. Developing a drive which won't miss it's impact on any floor.
Second track on A side is "The Ring" by Florian Muller, known as Florian Muller Project on Nowar, Terpsichore or Future In Sound
Records. The "French Moodymann" delivers a powerful and beautiful slice of Deep Funk House. Like a cross between KDJ, Pépé Bradock and Marcellus Pittman. A serious track for any challenging dancefloor.
On the flipside, B1 is "Distance" by label-boss nima skill. Influenced by the likes of Qu or Jus Ed, this track is build around a bewitching melody-sequence, while the bassline below pulsates warm and deep. B2 by BLTD, "Untitled" is deep and emotional House track. With a sampled-reedited speech of Amiri Baraka over a percussive bass-driven construction, this soulful and warm Deep House track could fit in any exigeant DJ-Set.

The fifth release on our Lehult imprint introduces the unique sounds of yet another talent from our crew. After already appearing on our third release, the 8040 EP is DJ Assam's first full length release, that showcases his deep and textured productions. In between slightly skipping grooves, atmospherical chords and thumping basslines, DJ Assam manages to create a atmosphere that offers just the right tension between seductive warmth and dark melancholy, between intimate proximity and distance, between uplifting groove and thoughtful introspection. It comes in a beautiful full-cover showing the deep forest of Lehult, as visual counterpart to the sounds of the EP.

Transatlantyk delivers more deep dancefloor heat straight from the Polish house underground.

This time Zambon has recruited two duets from the opposite corners of the country, hence the name of the sampler (Polnoc/Poludnie = North/South).
The result is one of the most diverse and playful Transatlantyk releases yet.

Jazxing are two youngsters from Gdansk, who cut their teeth playing drums, keys and bass in local reggae and new wave bands. Fusing their musicianship with an ear for classic American house production, they are delivering two fresh and charming tracks. 'KS Gruv' is the road tested crowd favourite, never failing to move the dancefloor into the jacking direction.
'The Coast' is a slower, more seductive and deeper affair. Its phased strings and swinging bassline form a perfect soundtrack for a late night or early morning at the Loft.

Unitrax come from Cracow. These two seasoned DJs share mutual affirmation of all good things in life.
They also share their love of dusty samples and analogue machinery. Here they showcase the sound of deep, mystic, meditative house with a hint of medicine overdose.

'Oasis (Water Of Love)' is filled with druggy and sultry atmosphere (and some really nice synth action as well).
This beautiful jam will definitely keep your happiness level high in a different situations. 'Another Feeling' sounds more sedative, like a post-coital cigarette in the early morning light.
Buy on sight, play it in your local opium den and you won't be disappointed.

We had no choice but to bring back our friend Kiko Navarro after the success of the 'New Life EP' released on Local Talk earlier this year.

'Isao' is Kiko at his finest, a beautiful and hypnotic house track that has the perfect blend of afro and latin elements with a bouncy electronic edge.
There's also a mighty fine remix coming from Jose Marquez. Jose develops the vocal elements and brings in a whole orchestra of drums taking the track in a sweatier direction.

Kiko also delivers a 'KOKI dub' where he continues on the same vibe and adds strings complimented by shakers and percussions throughout the track.

Party girl grows from a a collaboration between 2 artists coming from different fields in music. NicoNote brought her Voice and  Indie-Soul Stylings to Limo's Club Production Sound. The release is completed with hot remixes by Dapayk, Guido Nemola and Dachshund. This simply but very Cute and intense Spleen made Party girl be here!  Enjoy !

Tanzlife & Kammerton drop 'Those Family Affairs' EP on Silence in Metropolis this September, with Martin Aquino and Sam Haas remixes in tow. The Washing DC-based imprint Silence in Metropolis returns this summer with a dynamic four-track offering from Tanzlife & Kammerton. Despite its relatively fresh start the label welcomes the pair to an ever-burgeoning roster to sit beside names such as Funkdamentalist, Dale Howard and more recently JMF following his popular 'Point to Yourself' EP that dropped back in May.

Tanzlife gets straight into things with the jacking beats of 'Those Days', working in shifting percussion over lively intonations and a welcome addition of oscillating acid crunch towards the end. For 'Family Affair' Kammerton employs a rippling drum arrangement to seamlessly bubble alongside warbling bass while a velvety female vox resonates 'it's a family affair' punching out an undeniably hypnotic groove to the dynamic cut.

First up for remix duty is San Francisco native Martin Aquino who dishes up a warm and stripped back melodic track cultivated over infectious shifting percussion and warm rolling bass while Silence In Metropolis affiliate Sam Haas's knocks out a catchy off-kilter house cut built over broken beats and a wacked out 303 hook for his vibrant re-imagining.

When your debut set on Pete Tong's Essential Mix starts with Masters At Work remixing Saint Etienne and ends with Kraftwerk, the tunes in the middle better hold their own. That was the challenge Mobilee head Anja Schneider set for herself on her recent addition to the legendary BBC radio program, and she delivered with the help of a debut from Maya Jane Coles, a classics from Underground Resistance, and an airing of her own latest, Jimmy,' which, with it's propelling conga loop and haunting organ climax, made for one of the most memorable moments of the two hour session. This success will be no surprise to anyone familiar with Schneider's history as a producer, club DJ and respected radio host, with her own Dance Under The Blue Moon program filling the Berlin airwaves since 200. And while she has been teasing us with Jimmy' since July (when it surfaced on her mix for John Digweed's Transitions podcast), the time as finally come for it appear in it's complete form, released on vinyl and digital as Mobilee141, with the moody acid house of Lovetube Thinking' on the flip. A solid one-two punch of a release that DJs can now use to open and close their own essential sessions.

The last of Public Release's single-digit records is the first from the British West Midlands' most famous DJ and producer, Mark E. This shouldn't come as a surprise. If anything, the fact it didn't happen earlier should; Mark appeared as a remixer on Jeffrey Brodsky's 2014 Public Release EP, which has earned him the status of esteemed member of the outfit's inner circle and prime candidate for an extended play of his own.

That little bit of context behind us, let's move on to the actual music that's been pressed to Sky Horn. The 12' kicks off with the titular track, an abrasive number built around a meaty, sawtoothed synth line that sits snugly atop a hypnotic beat. Happy Family's remix—Happy Family, for the uninitiated, is Eric Duncan and Justin Van Der Volgen—is a more psychedelic reimagining of the original cut that'll knock you into an exhilarating stupor. Speedy and demented, it's an explosive, tantalizing cap to the first record.

The second begins with 'Midnight Equatic,' a tense yet propulsive number that's somehow paranoid industrial, tropical disco, and prototypical synthwave all at once. The duo comprised of Dennis McNany and LCD Soundsystem's Pat Mahoney, Museum of Love, wrap the four-tracker with their remix of the song, which zeroes in on the electro component so elemental to the original and runs with it, taking it into Depeche Mode Violator territories—before making a sharp left turn and exploring the wild sounds of the early 90s UK rave scene. A final hoorah for the party that is this record.

With the dawn of a new year it's time to pump more mysterious funk into the dancefloor with your favourite provider of under-the-radar edits, grooves, jams and workouts, the one and only Shimmy Sham Sham. This time around there are three delectable and diverse cuts to choose from, whether you're ready for the heat of the night or the lull of the morning. The A side is one long, emotional ride through the most dreamy of deep house with a heart-wracking soul vocal that may be familiar to some. On the flip, the B1 is a feisty machine workout that leaves enough room for some crafty flute bites and dramatic synth stabs, while the B2 comes sidling up with a sweet message of beautifully filtered chords slowly poured over a bubbly bassline, the beat lazily skipping into the perfect laconic groove to set your mind at ease. Keeping the clutter of names and reference points out of the picture, SSS006 leaves you with three fine compositions of high-grade house music that speak to your soul.

Sector 7-G's second release features the bionic boogie of underground Detroit synth wizard SLUFTER and more soulful futuristic dance floor heat from Sector 7-G founder Ben Christensen. These tracks show that Sector 7-G Recordings is committed to giving the people unique and forward thinking music that is soulful, funky and alive.

After putting out releases from the likes of UK rave legend Warlock and Baltimore rapper Rye Rye produced by Bullion, Dave Maclean of Django Django's Kick + Clap label announces Tom Furse's Run To Me suite with Because Music, due out 9th October. On Run To Me Furse has mapped out the EP as one opus divided into five cohesive parts. Referencing early techno it has one foot in Cologne and the other in Detroit, with its tightly worked, precise machino-florescence, condensed and upfront, and free of the pomposity that abounds in the genre. A sound enamored with Kraftwerk, Juan Atkins and Yello, it underpins a latent narrative on themes of love, machines and obliteration. Furse elaborated further on the inspiration behind the EP: 'When I sit down in the studio I'm not always sure where it's going to go, really I just have that drive to create and I use that to explore sounds that interest me. It's a release of energy, no agenda, just expression. The driving visual idea behind this EP was very Sci Fi-based, I had this notion of robots being called to arms ("run to me") by a mother robot, in order to collect suns to build a giant engine powered by 20,000 suns. I know it's not really apparent in the songs, but visual ideas like that drive me forward when I'm making music, it just seems to make it easier, like putting sound to film. ' Continuing a stint on NTS as well as remixing for the likes of Sebastian Tellier, Django Django & Connan Mockasin, Furse's ability to maintain a frenetic work rate with a steady lack of concern about genre and readymade platforms or avenues of thought, means the future is a tantalizing prospect for The Horrors man turned solo artist.

Out-of-print since 1994, this early release from the Large music camp (on sub label Swing Street) has reached cult classic status and forced many a collector to seek out the few remaining rare copies available. Much has been said recently about the production team of Black Ice; this release showcases the reasons why they are so highly praised and have been re-discovered as major influences in the Chicago House sound. Five tracks here that all feature raw and textured rhythms mixed perfectly with splashes of melody and soul.
