Following its digital release on Marketing Music, London/Lisbon label How The Other Half Lives has licensed the '1694 EP' - featuring all six original tracks alongside incredible remixes from Roman Flügel, Cosmo Vitelli and Tim Paris - for a limited vinyl run. As an added bonus, a brand new Daniel Avery remix - exclusive to this vinyl edition - tops off the collection.
The '1694 EP' has already received strong support: Ivan Smagghe selected Cosmo Vitelli's remix of 'Geschmacklos' for his 'A Walk In The Woods With...' Tsugi mix CD, Erol Alkan featured the original version on his BBC Radio '6 Mix' show and The Glimmers went as far to declare 'Geschmacklos' "the best track in the world" in a recent interview with Brain Magazine. Trevor Jackson, Michael Mayer, Joakim, Ewan Pearson, Optimo, Âme, Tim Sweeney, Duke Dumont and many more have also been particularly taken with the originality and diversity showcased on the EP.
Tim Paris describes the project: "Time is at the centre of The Draughtsman's music. It shifts genre and references a variety of different periods of musical history: the initial inspiration for the project - which is easy to discover if you seek it - is an ambitious cinematic vision released in 1982 yet set in Baroque 1694. Don't sleep on this, VINYL ONLY!!!Dream Tennis was the second release for the Cocktail d'Amore imprint in the summer of 2011 from Steven Warwick better known under his alias Heatsick. This first outing on vinyl garnered attention for him through RA's "Breaking Through" series and the Diegors remix opened the RA "Real Scenes: Berlin" video. After that release, Steven Warwick's Casiotone based experiments in dance music crossed over to many different audiences thanks to an album and 12" on PAN Records, a 12" on Rush Hour and many live performances throughout Europe. As the first release of 2013 Discodromo and Boris present to you a collection of remixes of "Dream Tennis" by admirers of Heatsick´s music: Legowelt, Willie Burns, Young Marco and new comers Clima.

The Fullbarr imprint returns with a new vinyl release this Jan by Immer, entitled 'Quite baked as ol' ways it's a lovely balance' backed with a stellar remix from Detroit's Kris Wadsworth.

Eindhoven born Geert Schilder aka Immer has honed in on a raw, intricate sound over the past few years and has recently signed releases to the likes of Shewolf Music and his hometown based Klopfgeist, alongside the likes of Homepark, Estroe, Shaun Reeves and Boris Werner, positioning Immer as a strong purveyor of underground house music.

Schilder returns to Fullbarr here following his remix of Hans Berg's 'Machines', The now Leeds based imprint has made a heavy impact as of late releasing projects from Luke Solomon, LoSoul, Vince Watson and Kalabrese. The release opens with 'Quite Baked', a stripped, low-slung cut that embraces loose, swung drums and rolling low-end rumbles. The record adapts to a simplistic hooky structure that allows subtle transitional periods to keep things captivating, infusing a blend of gritty elements that gleam with analogue sparkles and warmth, resulting in a tasteful slice of rough and ready house music.

Next up is 'As Ol'Ways', taking things in a deeper direction with smooth Rhodes chords driving the melodic movement. Immer implants his signature shuffled drum patterns on the track with methodical variations and retractions worked into the layout to ensure an evolving feel throughout. The latter stages introduce resonant filter sweeps; reverb bursts and minute delays into the background depths further showing Immer's ability to push the boundaries of creativity in his productions.

'Lovely Balance' follows, a percussive, groove led cut that's built upon solid drum sounds and a cleverly sampled organ bass hook. Geert's less-is-more approach takes the reins here, applying a fusion of hats, rim shots and claps to build the bigger picture, the track builds to a peak where everything becomes filtered and lo-fi before reverting back to the punchy rhythm and riding out the rest of the track, simple yet contrastingly intricate at the same time. Immer delivers stylish house music once again.

Closing the release is Detroit born Kris Wadsworth with his 'Guess Who Remix' of 'As Ol'Ways'. Kris is notably known for his work with Hypercolour, NRK and Get Physical. Here he employs his signature sound to 'As Ol'Ways' creating shuffling, raw house with his trademark hooky synth stabs, scratchy chorus and filter modulations creep in throughout its duration

Turbo Recordings takes new-school electro to grad school with the latest release from Finnish duo Renaissance Man.

Finland's Renaissance Man have earned a reputation as some of the smartest minds in dance music, and by extension, the world. Following their brilliant 2011Turbo debut LP, the actual architects continue to bring high-minded concepts to low-ended club tracks with their latest release, "Call2Call."

The six tracks on this EP take the DNA of classic electro and splice it with techno's focus on structure and the duo's trademark "Critical House" conceptual ingenuity. The use of landline phone samples over dirty 808 beats evokes something both timeless and incredibly time-specific, like a primitive ape-man (or woman) being handed the first-ever cordless phone and hearing his first dial tone as the equivalent of being left to die in space. The result is something familiar yet new, much like the second time you ever read the phrase "familiar yet new."

None of which is to say that this music doesn't have balls. Because it does. Brainy, well-considered balls. Accept them as our gift to you.

Bearfunk and Clap Rules have commissioned a blinding collection of remixes of their exemplary 2011 album, 'Golden Hands.' Perfect for the spring time, it features edits from In Flagranti, Mock and Toof, Daniel Maloso and the mighty Emperor Machine all wrapped up on a heavyweight 12".

Think back to the late 70's/early 80's, Northern Italy, when the sound palette was a churning, hypnotic melting pot. The evolution of Cosmic had began from a combination of Afro rhythms, Italo Disco sensibilities, Jazz, science fiction and a surge of synthesisers, emanating from clubs such as Typhoon, Chicago, Bisbi, Mecca, and of course Cosmic.
Here at Nang we are proud to have one of the sound's founding fathers, Daniele Baldelli, back with us. Ably aided by DJ Rocca (aka Ajello, Crimea X and Supersonic Lovers) in his Mars Life Studio, the pair have brewed up a startlingly accomplished album of cosmic slo-mo machine funk.
We dive straight in with 'Complotto Geometrico,' a galactic dancefloor experience that spews out elastic synth lines and otherworldly rhythms in glorious fashion. Next up the title track 'Podalirius' follows suit with its equally as poignant synthesis, interspersed with a beautiful flute lines, laser pulses and rolling percussion.
'Roba Che Scotta' takes us away with a beam of arpeggios and Sci-fi themes, within a more classical disco template. 'Rate The Stars (ft. Tahamene)' starts with a thumping boom-bap, before leading into an spacey arp-driven vocal track, with Tahamene's brilliant top line adding to the melancholia.
'A TV Show (ft. Ghostape Boy)' is far more slinky, laid-back affair. Ghostape Boy's vocals supply a youthful sheen to the percussive disco instumental, leaving a supersweet aftertaste. 'Real Like The Music (ft. Mark Borgazzi)' lines up next. Bongo's and a repeated synth phrase intertwine with Borgazzi's soulful tenor, guitar chops and cosmic detritus to create another on-point vocal track.
'Teorema' brings the tempo up a notch for a lesson in spaced-out dancefloor mechanics. The bass is solid and string, supporting the surrounding synth melodies and laser beams to carry it in any peak time scenario. 'Haughty Rhino' is equally as strong, but the vibe goes a little deeper, it's a little more visceral. The epic synth lines stand their ground for the introverted headphone listeners just as much as the extroverted twilight adventurers.
As we draw to a close, 'Flugdisco' helps things down a little easier with its melodious contemplative moods, the washes of star-lit pads and progressive arrangement. To finish things off in fine style, the 2010 Nang single 'Space Scribal' makes an appearance for old times sake. For those that were there, this is classic Baldelli and Rocca, for all you new fans, revel in the sonic supernova!

There are several ways to try to sum up the history of MOTOR. Chronologically listing all of the releases, significant events, enthusiastic critics and superlative comments, awards won and goals achieved in a comparatively short period of time would be one of them.

Slowly building, soul-soothing, and disco-fuelled house with a nod to both the great masters from Chicago and the new electronic breed.
Lisbon producer and Lux resident Ramboiage likes to take it slow to take things further. 'Del Fuego' kicks off modestly with a simple beat and some light percussion, creating and eerie mood. But then some tasty, disco-fuelled heavy house kicks in, and the tune starts to roll unstoppable, riding on a horn hook. Funky like a train, as the mighty Equals would say. Spanish Om Records darling Al Velilla steps up the pace a little bit and lets the original float over some tasty discohouse beats and eighties-flavoured synths.

Maestro is a term of extreme respect given to a master musician. Typically associated with classical music, it's not something you'd immediately associate with more modern forms of music, house and disco included. But then, why not In terms of culture you could argue that these close cousins are just as influential on modern day society as their more archaic classical grandparent. Of course, you'd have to use it appropriately.

Redux return from a winter hibernation and summer of partying with some more essential wax.
Grand Corporation is the latest alias of Andy Meecham (Emperor Machine/Chicken Lips) and Stevie Kotey (Bearfunk/Chicken Lips), features the incredible vocals of Deborah Bell, and really cements the reputations of two of scenes finest producers.
The Grand Corporation sound is inspired by the very best dance music from Detroit/Chicago/New York, resulting in some raw, sleazy and soulful early house vibes. There may be bit of a trend for reproducing classic house sounds at the moment, but these guys are seriously qualified to do it and unlike a lot of their peers capture the essence of what made this music so exciting in the first place.
Free comes in vocal and instrumental versions, and with a superb bonus acid dub in the 'Do It Proper remix'.

The sounds are created by Cygnus, aka Phillip Washington, an electronic musician from Dallas, Texas. Working with synthesisers and drum machines, Phillip engineers sensations that are felt deep within the mind. His influences are respected and embraced, but they never hold him back: from Sun Ra to Autechre, Mortal + Chemist, Giorgio Tsoukalos, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and to the smile within the sneer of Grace Jones.

Slag is a live Techno band consisting of equal parts musicians and DJ's. The four experienced men draw on their experience from record shops dance floors and film-/ theater-music and have the common passion for Techno in their neural pathways. With the passion for electronic music and classic synthesizers, they created a sound black as oil and white as freshly fallen snow. The band varies their performance with a large portion jam elements and makes their live shows tension-filled in both club and concert performances. A concert by Fire Slag starts in the deepest dub and ends in a furious techno ballad.

All synths and vocals you hear on these tracks come from Phoreski, no samples, no guests, no edits.
He's been hinting at this raw, analogue authentic sound for a while, but these tracks showcase a producer at one with the machines. 'Brown Biscuits' comes across like some lost Italo/cosmic gem, but via the North East of England rather than the lakes of Italy. 'Machines' flexes tight proto-house rhythms with some bass that will make mince meat of lesser club soundsystems whilst the feuding synth lines fight for attention.

Ø is Vainio's original solo pseudonym dedicated to his native label Sähkö Recordigs since 1993. Where Pan_sonic uses pure, industrial and sometimes harsh sound elements, Ø reveals Mika Vainio's deeper, passionate and sometimes even romantic side.

What exactly has happened to all the Chillout Floors Once being an indispensable place for cozy hangouts and relief at every good party, they calmly dissipated in the last decade. They were eventually replaced with second and third floors, all with the same standardized 'four to the floor' sound without attitude. And now Noom Café come with an album that sounds like being made in the best times of the Chillout Era. Is there a Chillout revival coming upon us For Noom Café this is not the question. They live for relaxed beats and low key soundscapes ever since. Their new Album 'Beyond Time, released by the Frankfurt label 'Elux', is like a fresh breeze on a Balearic evening in summer. Within the first minutes of the albums opener 'Baracoa', the listener gets a very clear impression of the musical quality of Noom Café. Acoustic instruments and swinging beats, like in 'Blue Sky',melt into electronic pads and reverberant vocal samples. In this manner Noom Café are creating their very own world, far away from the hectic of everyday life. Anyhow, a day at the beach touches on more than just sunshine. 'Beyond Time' takes the listener away from the worn out paths of the genre and sends him on a journey to darker sound realms. Reminiscences of Dubstep and Deephouse ('The Awakening (Next Day Mix)') are as well audible as the exuberant and almost progressive moments of 'Glass' und 'Stormy Beach.' Electric and experimental beats take control over the second half of the longplayer and guide the listener into the night just to smoothly embrace him again with the jazzy closing track 'Don't Fall Asleep'.Altogether 'Beyond Time' is much more than a typical chillout album. Noom Café takes you to their very own beach and it is a pleasure to share this voyage with them.

New Dolly sublabel! As Dolly is mainly focussed on classic Detroit/Chicago inspired house and techno, Dolly Dubs will widen the spectrum. First up is Staffan Lindberg from Sweden (known for his remix of Steffi's 'Yours') who delivers four excellent modern and sharply produced house/club tracks that will work on any floor.

Enzo Elia has been at it again, hard at work in the studio producing his next batch of Balearic Gabba Edits for Hell Yeah Rec. - the fourth in the series. Reception for the project so far has been great, with the likes of Prins Thomas, Sean Johnston, Tim Sweeney, Oskar Hofferman amongst the many fans, whilst Quiet Village have already been caning the A2 from this new instalment. The three tracker kicks off with Psycho Team's - 'Hypno' (Enzo Elia Barini Edit) - in its original form first released back in 1989 on Dance and Waves - and is all about restrained rave chord stabs, a crunchy amen break and layers of found sounds right from some basement party as the sound of voices and whistles are buried somewhere in the background behind intense drums and infectious finger clicks: a classy peak time floor filler and no mistake. And so to Quiet Village's favourite, also from 1989, Psycho Team's - 'Psycho' (Enzo Elia That Morning Edit) which is a much more delicate and moody affair. Watery synths ring out in all directions as gentle melodic rains falls down the face of the harmonised arrangement. Eventually a frazzled synth line takes the lead as strings dart about in the background but never do the knife-edge emotions dissipate. Last but not least is Endangered People - 'So I Want to Say (Ta Ta Ta') (Enzo Elia Ultra Dub edit) which was originally released in 1995 on Mantra Vibes. In the hands of Enzo the track is paired down to a bubbling sonic stew of taught synth lines, analogues bubbles and gurgles and icy percussion. It's a primordial soup of sound that doesn't drop or breakdown, but instead percolates and builds slowly for 7 odd minutes until ending up as a marching techno beat straight from the ruins of Detroit.

Spleen United , Danish Top 10 Heroes and one of the Live Sesations on This Years Roskilde, Fusion and Reeperbahn Festivals with their first International Release. After intense up-close studies of 'unintelligent dance music', the (clever) boys in Spleen United have reinvented themselves. At the same time, they have rediscovered melody and encapsulated a captivating energy that acts as a soundtrack to their exploration of euphoria - and the (inevitable) come down the next day. The last time we heard from Spleen United, they were the kings of airplay in Denmark, with massive record sales and plenty of acclaim for their unique take on electro rock. Now it's been three years since the single 'Suburbia' was the most played track on P3 - Danish National Radio. After that, it became quiet as the four members withdrew from the limelight and immersed themselves in some intense self-study. The self-selected experimenting years have once again pushed Spleen United in new directions, although the band still sounds unmistakably like itself - with all that entails in terms of melodic flair, lyrical depth and (intense/high) energy. In their third album, School of Euphoria, Spleen United offer a bunch of coherent songs, which each have their own life on an album where the guitars and the rock sound yields some space for drum machines and other analog techno-tools/instruments/machinery. But as the first single 'Days of Thunder' stressed from the first sound/beat, the growing machine park does not change the fact that you immediately know you're listening to Spleen United. Roving Canadian troubadour Jake Fairley aka Fairmont has built up a loyal worldwide following throughout the course of his ten year long musical career. Albums and singles for leading global labels such as Border Community and Traum Schallplatten have established Fairley as a key player in the world of electronic music, whilst his perpetual travels across land and sea, bringing his live sets to the masses, have bonded him with music lovers on the four corners of the planet. The past few years have seen Fairmont spreading his musical wings, with the his techno killer 'All Dreams Are Nightmares' on Areal and the disco tinged 'Emax/Bercy' on Beachcoma, but it is perhaps with his recent gothic/indie inspired releases on Border Community and Traum that he has given the clearest insight to where his future sound lies.
That future has seen Jake Fairley join forces with one of Canada's hottest exports of recent times, the ever- excellent My Favorite Robot Records. The Robot crew have been a long time followers of Fairmont's career and when the opportunity came up to sign him for MFRR, they jumped at the chance: one listen to Fairmont's latest LP and it's abundantly clear that this was a very wise move. 'Automaton' is a perfect fit for the Toronto imprint with his dark & melancholic yet heart warming mix of richly produced electronica and vocal led songs.
From the up tempo and stirring opener 'Creatures of Night' it's clear that Fairley will be pulling no punches; robustly mixed and taut with atmosphere, his vocals carve a channel through the deeply hypnotic electro influenced backing, whilst the live guitar parts give the record a distinctly 'indie' edge. This indie sound in fact runs throughout the album, from the soaring melodics of 'Waiting' to the quirky shuffle of 'Last Dance' and on to the gothic eighties inflected 'Tiny Diamonds'. 'Automaton' is an album that deftly marries influenced from across the decades, fusing 70s and 80s synth sounds with electro elements and themes from modern techno, electronica and indie pop. It is a darkly melodic record that highlights the broad musical talents of Fairmont and his ability to bend genres at will and is a wonderful insight into the world of this ever-evolving artist.In line with the release there will be a full album tour showcasing, a new incarnation of the Fairmont live show, highlighting Fairley's unique ability to perform what is simultaneously a rocking stage show and a killer dance-floor set.

iLa Tet is the voice and guitar project of Jamie Allan (aka Jamie Lloyd). The two tracks are reflective pieces, written in a intimate fashion from the heart.
