Cromby is an exciting addition to the London House music scene: Originally hailing from Belfast he has made camp in the British capital and brought his MPC 2000 XL with him. The young man who has grown up listening to Chez Damier and Moodymann makes use of the Japanese sampler from Akai in a highly fresh and creative way combining raw drums with sweet and melancholic pads and chords. On his 'Planets And Parks EP' Cromby displays a very nice balance between a traditional Deep House understanding and a forward thinking attitude and is thus just perfect for Tenderparks's idea of musicality. As far as the artwork of the record is concerned the beautiful black and white image is the last part of Tenderpark's current series concieved by art director Till Sperrle and photographer Magdalena Bichler. And as you've come to expect from Tenderpark all tracks have been mastered and cut by Helmut Erler at Dubplates & Mastering once more.

The New Tower Generation have had two amazing releases on Austrian label Praterei.
Jimpster & Luv Jam hooked up for this collaboration following Jimpster falling in love with Luv Jam's mad-cap Detroit-inspired deep house on We Play House, Phonica
and Tsuba. Luv Jam also produced an exclusive track for the Freerange 200th release entitled Hamburglar.

The Maghreban returns with essential new house odyssey 'Brooklyn', named after his dead cat.

* His second outing on Black Acre, 'Brooklyn' is a breathtaking night flight, viewed through a prism both phantasmagorical and seedily terrestrial. Trance inducing Caribbean percussion, possessed chants, Motown bass, sci-fi synths, wayward filter sweeps, analogue free jazz - all get their moment to shine in the weird and wonderful 8-minute microcosm that is 'Brooklyn'.

* Flip-side 'The Carpenters' strikes a more domesticated tone, with motorik industrial dub eventually giving way to haunted sci-fi bachelor pad lounge.

Belgian producer Joris Biesmans (aka Cashmere* and Benn Lian) delivers a counterweight to the "fast food music" that ram-raids its way into today's mainstream consciousness, with a project named TVe - "The Virtual escape" - indicating his urge to escape from today's data-saturated, music-as-mass-industrial-product environment. Musically, TVe aims for an aesthetic ambush incorporating strange & self-made hardware instruments, tape machines, non-standard structures, atonal abstraction, noise, distortion and randomness - openly embracing imperfections instead of smoothing them out with calibrated presets & templates. To this end, TVe has brought two masters of this approach on board for the label's debut EP and with Creme Organization alumni Legowelt and ASOK bringing forth their own inimitable style on remixes of Biesmans' delightfully askew original productions. 'Freedom School' is well known for releasing music from the likes of IG Culture, Mark De Clive Lowe, Eric Lau and Rick "The Godson' Wilhite. The third volume of the FREEDOM SCHOOL D.J. SERIES features the work of Kaidi Tatham. There are three solid tracks on this 12' from beat-down House to jazzy down tempo beats. Kaidi brings his futuristic funky fusion to give all the dancers warm and peaceful vibes!

Every home should have this record from the 2 of the originators of deep House! Virgo 4 were kicking out the most melodic, fathoms deep, complex emotional machine music before anyone else (them & Larry obviously!) had caught up with them & the "Do You Know Who Are" EP from 1989 is as flawless as it gets, often imitated over the years but never, ever bettered!

Every single track on this slab of wax is a classic! Virgo manage to reach right inside & take us somewhere on every cut while maintaining an otherworldly sense of melody & rhythm, some of the playing on this record is incredible & so accomplished, "In A Vision" for example still sounds like it's beaming right at us from the future while "Take Me Higher" carries it's stately, Reggae-like vibe along smoothly while retaining enough bounce to keep the floor locked in.

Basically, "Do You Know Who Are" is an almost perfect record. You need it. It's the truth.

Young Marco made a big impression to a new lot of listeners at the beginning of 2012 with his ESP Institute debut, Nonono / Darwin in Bahia (played by Dixon and James Murphy amongst others). The young man from Amsterdam now returns with a sister 12" to his Nonono, a perfectly complimentary piece of wax that maintains his esoteric stance on House music, and proves that he's no one-trick pony. Video Days blends Marco's signature analog synth work with tribal rhythms and a loose sense of narrative, while the flipside Later Than U Think takes a more cheeky approach, pairing a blissfully stabbing core melody with a mousey counter-melody and setting it all over some huge tom-heavy drum programming. These songs are the perfect close to a beautiful Summer, whether you're lost in euphoria as the sun comes up, or simply dancing around your kitchen in the nude.

Another acquisition into our collection of fine gems. Another split effort, but this time ,front faced, is Mike Sharon a first hand guest into our house with two attemporal musical experiences for the music connaisseur.

On the other side we'll find the younglings Dub Jamz with their intensity and colored tones that boost the soul of those dancefloor driven beatz.

Residing in Toronto and making up one half of Hermans, Jerry Riggs debuts on Run Out Run with four diverse tracks all bringing their own identity to the equation from the knee jerking 'Sick Sense' to the heads down 'Everybody Clap'. Mike Davis, the man behind the newly inaugurated Brenda project, weighs in with two collaborations with Riggs. 'Beiruth' is an early hours club excursion moulding strains of dub techno and some hypnotic synth work effortlessly while 'Come Home (Police Militar)' is peak time and made to be played loud!

RP Boo returns with 'The Ultimate RP Boo', showing off six brand new cuts that mix a range of styles with his vivid use of samples and improvised drum programming. 'The Ultimate' kicks things off with a sliding synth riff that wouldn't sound out of place on a '91 Prodigy track with cut up rave vocal interjections over Bu's trademark pulsing bass. 'Bang with the Funk' crushes the 1-2-3-4-5 Sesame Street song, chopping its samples into hard shapes. Things turn dark and minimal with 'The King' which features a sample from Fresh, with strange atonal tones playing off against spooky chords and a tactile bass. On the flipside 'What Am I' pairs syncopated snares and 4/4 bass pulses while percussion bangs and shimmers over clipped diva refrains and anxious piano. 'Bu'Moon' meshes together some pumping horn blurts and some old fashioned steamy synth wooshes that wouldn't feel out of place on a 50's sci-fi film into a relentless battle track. 'Electric Energy' finishes the EP, sampling an unusual pop source and chopping them over pulsing half time subs that pitch up and down around slipping and sliding drum hits.

Finally, KANN Headquarter duo Sevensol & Bender bring out a new EP. Both tracks unite the labels perception of contemporary and personal dance music. Again, they perform with a dreamy and harmonic sense for rhythm and express what house music means to them. If you understand the record as a pretentious instruction of 'how not to lose things', you have to find out yourself. KANN firmly believes.

The second sampler from King Street celebrating the work of the mighty Kerri Chandler. Kerri's career in dance music stretches way back to the late 80's and he has remained at the top of his game throughout, thus rightfully earning him the title of - House Legend!

As with the sampler before, the King Street vaults have been raided for only the highest quality cuts from his extensive back catalog. Kicking off the EP is his all-time classic, monster, dance-floor wrecking "Bar A Thym", A real deep House masterpiece that should need no introduction and the perfect way to start things off. Over on the flip we are treated to "Welcome To King Street" a deep, immense spoken word love letter to the dancers delivered in true "Kaos 6:23" fashion! This track has never been issued on vinyl before, only ever appearing on the 2012 King Street compilation of the same name. Finishing things off is "Be There", another solid banger lifted from the "Kaoz On King Street Chapter II" 12" from 1997. All in all, a killer selection of tracks from a true master!

This (and the preceding) EP are the perfect points for those who missed these killer tracks first time around, or are a great place to start for those who are new to the legendary Mr.Chandler's sounds. All tracks included have been re-mastered and re-pressed in full conjunction with King Street Sounds, New York City.
