Finale Sessions is really pleased to launch new series Finale Sessions Limited with Berlin up and coming act Arcarsenal. Duo comprised of Alan Mathias and Etienne Dauta, both founders of Bass Cadet Records and its dedicated vinyl store located in the heart of the german capital, they are also active members of the large Underground Quality family. Arcarsenal have already started to establish themselves as proponent of a crossover sound, mixing many influences from jazz, house, ambient to dub and techno. They are always giving a prominence to jam, improvisation and textures work in their studio routine. This EP called « Dark Skies & Wetlands », even if slightly grittier than usual, is no stranger to the rules of the duo. The opening track « Different Planet » is an epic dark deep house cut which develops itself over a course of 8:40. Starting with a stamping ground bassline and hazy atmosphere, the track opens up with synth attacks, dub echoes and slowly brings in a blissful melody that ends up linking all the elements. « Substance Of Arjuna », the following track on the A-side, is a-contrario a short but intense ambient work. Shot in one take, this subtle cut showcases the kind experimentations that Mathias and Dauta can end up doing late at night in front of their machines. The b-side of the EP leaves all the space to « Racoons », one of the weirdest and yet most powerful work of the duo to date. Tribal techno could be a short try to define what they achieved here, but the track goes far more than this. Built on a gritty mental acidic bass and a huge drum kick, the frenchmen bring over aggressive synth work that could sound like an orchestra on rehearsal, pachydermic screams or an overdriven guitar larsen. Underlined by a complex percussion pattern recorded live in their nest and chopped up to the best effect, the track ends up in a looping transe from which the listener might not leave in a normal state.

Micronation is the Frank Agrario's new label. After some key releases on Internasjonal, Tom Tom Disco and Maxi Discs Frank decided to start his own vinyl label. Micronation is a declaration of independence, Frank makes his own rules, passports and stamps, while music is the currency.02. Percussion, deep bases and Frank's trademark dubby dealys are all there. Rafael Da Cruz' 1st Black Label 12' finally hits the streets, dipping into deeper, gloomier spheres of house. Soaring synths cleverly trim the bed of fat broad baselines. The Black 80s give the original a wicked analogue touch, with a splendid soulful vocal version as bonus track. Cosmic Cowboys and David Hasert supply two impressive remixes that both create a dark, but uniquely vibrant scenery and complete the package.
With a name like that, you should become a leading actor in an Coen-Brothers-Movie, professional soccer player at Benfica Lisbon or head of government with a dictatorial claim for leadership. Eduardo Rafael Da Cruz Ferreira - editor of the magazine FAZEmag - early devoted himself to electronic music. His graceful and melancholic interpretation of deep house he quickly made a name for himself in numerous clubs from Cologne, over Hamburg to Berlin and at festivals like PollerWiesen, RaveOnSnow, Utopia Island and Nature One. With "Right To Love" he started running his own night in Cologne's most famous Club called Gewölbe, where he presents acts like Maceo Plex, Mario Basanov, Ten Walls, Deniz Kurtel, Miguel Campbell, H.O.S.H. or PillowTalk in a very exclusive atmosphere.
'Cosmic Cowboys" is a project born from the different styles of two young venetian artists: Nicola Sansoni aka Randomatique and Kaled Jabari aka Kaledj. Big friends since they were 10 years old, they got involved into electronic music since they were really young being influenced at first by artists as Ian Pooley, Dj Deep, Chicken Lips, Frankie Knuckles and then by names as Ripperton, Trentemøller, Martin Buttrich and Röyksopp developing a style that couldn't be defined with other term than "cosmic", edging between deep-house, dub and tech-house with their quintessential romantic touch, always able to create a special intensity in their music. Their first EP "Rent a Starship" was released in december 2008 on the german label Ostwind Records being reviewed also on the spanish DjMag as one of the best records of the year. 2009 and 2010 was the time for Nico and Kaled to make more steps with releases as the "Dusk EP" and the "Piano Africano EP" on Kollektiv Turmstrasse's imprint Musik Gewinnt Freunde followed in the last years with more productions for labels as Traum Schallplatten, Katchuli, Plastic City, Time Has Changed or Suara being as well in charge as remixers for artists such as Minilogue, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Italoboyz, Dj Le Roi, Moodymanc, P.Toile, Ryan Davis or Lucy among the others. Beside their productions also their popularity as djs and live performers grew up thanks to their own party "Origami" and the festival they organize in Croatia called "Somewhere In The Woods" or to their performances in some of the best clubs, festivals and events in Italy and all over Europe. Released in November 2014 again on Musik Gewinnt Freunde their long awaited first full length LP "Zero Gravity Love", where they gave again proof of their skills as musicians starting as well to perform concerts together with their band.
Hollis P Monroe is responsible for classic songs in both the Deep House and Funky Breaks genres. Since 1994, Hollis has made sporadic but significant musical contributions on highly respected labels including Ovum, Defected, West End, Stickman, Soul Candi and Jive Electro. Since early 2012, Hollis has been refueled by Noir Music's highly acclaimed remixes of his timeless track - I'm Lonely' and rejuvenated by talented music veteran but newcomer to House music, Overnite. Overnite brings his vast experience as a vocalist and producer into the musical direction, DJ sets and live performances as they swiftly move forward as The Black 80s. Initially billed simply as "Hollis P Monroe and Overnite", The Black 80s have already made a big impression on the House community, starting with stand out collaborations with Rampa for Keinemusik, Trickski for Suol, and KiNK and Sierra Sam for Upon You. As well, they have well-received releases on Noir Music, NAU and forthcoming appearances on Freerange, Stranjjur, and Noir and upcoming collaborations with Bloody Mary, Trickski, Flash Mob/Dirty Channels, and Coyu.
German artist and live act David Hasert, also known as Hasi, is the founder of the label LIKE records and public representative of Cologne's Reineke Fuchs club. He is responsible for the high quality bookings and the club's unique success. Living up to his rather rebellious reputation David would do almost anything to avoid conformity and one-dimensional attitudes. He is polishing his tracks like gems, crafting the whole with such finesse that it leaves you begging for more. David is also a member of Kompakt Records' new uprising act DAMH (DogAteMyHomework), which released their first record in spring 2014 with remixes by Hamburgs Mastermind DJ Koze and Matt Karmil. David is also really happy about living in Cologne.

Is the Cornuta Sound's return after a long resting time. This new 10" contains one of the most saved songs by Above Smoke (Deep Explorer) that runs into the jazz world and an outro take for djs. The flipside brings a great rework by the label boss (W&P Hgg).

A lot has changed for Lars Dales and Maarten Smeets in the past two years since they first send me a demo with their music. When we met in Amsterdam in 2011, they had just started their Detroit Swindle project and were making music just out of fun. They did not yet think of taking it to a more professional level. After some time, Elef got them to send me a few of their first tracks, which resulted in the 'Nothing Else Matters' EP together with the now 'classic' Detroit Swindle track 'Jick Rames' on it. 'Jick Rames' is truly a breakthrough track for the guys: it was something completely different at the time with its ultra slow tempo combined with Detroit/ Chicago-esque feel and hip hop attitude. Along with their well received release on Huxley's 'Saints & Sonnets', this marked the jump start of their musical career and it were these releases that marked the way the guys would take, combining the early 90's garage styles with deeper Detroit and Chicago house influences. Their music sounded so fresh and new that you could immediately pick out a Detroit Swindle track when you heard it in the clubs. It was something about their way of building breaks and especially the rhythms that had a typical 'Detroit Swindle' style with lots of shuffle and off-grid action going on. Their tremendous rise in the house scene already got them to be noted as newcomers in the 'Making a splash in 2013' section in DJ Mag and from there it just went off.

Whilst randomly flicking through his Itunes library Manuel Tur hit upon a selection of remixes that have been made of his music over the years and realized that, as well as many of them having gone criminally under the radar, many are absolutely solid gold and all of them deserve to be put together on one LP to showcase these beauties. The artists involved reads
like a who's who of underground house and techno with vintage names like Pepe Bradock, Ian Pooley and Isole´e rubbing shoulders with young upstarts like Ugly Drums and Damiano von Erckert. For those who are already familiar with these remixes we wanted to make sure you had some brand new
and exclusive music to get your teeth into so added three brilliant
remixes of tracks from Manuel's latest LP Es Cub to the package which is exactly what you have here on this sampler release.
All three names need little by way of introduction, being Poker Flat
honcho Steve Bug, Feel and One Track founder John Daly and Innervisions and Pets regular Aera. All three deliver their own unique take with their trademark quality and attention to the dancefloor all present and correct. Steve Bug's Remix of Ara Anam kicks off the release in classic Bug style with clipped beats, simple stabs and that warmth of production that makes everything he does work so nicely in the club. John Daly is up next ditching his more cosmic, spaced out deep house sound for a straight up
dub techno onslaught. Not your usual Freerange fare of course but when the music is this good who cares Play loud in a smokey warehouse or not at all! Finally, Aera gives us his spin on Agrafena, a twisted and edgy track with crazy synths and stripped back beats taking us on a turbulent magic carpet ride into the future. Or something like that.

French artist Kool Vibe is back on his own Paris-based label KV Records with a new 4 track EP. True to the mission assigned to the label, this release brings us back to the early 90s through basics sounds and elements which have defined deep house since then : fat syncopated rhythms, heavy and groovy basslines, warm chopped vocals. There is something raw and genuine about this record. 'Basics' and 'Back To The RealA' definitely emphasize the minimal and raw side of deep house. 'Tribute' is humbly dedicated to the legendary Todd Terry, whose ultimate knowledge of the art of sampling contributed to shape house music in the early days . At last,'Sleazy Joint (Touch It, Suck it') closes the record with a nasty and sexy touch . Anyway, the whole EP is meant for the dancefloor and the simple pleasure of partying. So forget about the pressure and enjoy !

* With 'Footwork Or Die', Chicagos own DJ Diamond returns to the spotlight with a strongly infectious and deep brand new masterpiece, a very worthy successor to his debut album 'Flight Muzik', originally released on the UK's Planet Mu Records in 2011. 2013 saw the release of a reloaded extended version of 'Flight Muzik' and now in late 2016 Duck N' Cover Records is very excited to have the opportunity to bring more of his outstanding music to the ears of a wide audience.

* Already, with his first album DJ Diamond, aka Karlis Griffin, made clear that he is one of the Footwork scene's most original producers, with a very distinctive style of his own that is not repiclable. The epic quality and deepness of some of the brightest moments on 'Flight Muzik' is back and in some cases even topped with his second full length release. The most important factor that made DJ Diamond a local legend long before the debut album was available is the apparent musicality of his productions. The style lends itself also to outsiders, whilst not compromising on the frenzy that is needed to bring the Footworkers the necessary heat. A hybrid, only a genius mind can fabricate!

* In 2016, DJ Diamond still stands out and shines with a bright light. Experience once again a beautifully sequenced album with stylish artwork for which Duck N' Cover Records is notorious for. A perfectly well balanced compilation of deep and hard hitting material, bearing the mark of a classic great album that will stand the test of time with a smile.

The hip house boom was in full effect, thanks to Tyree Cooper's efforts, and Trax responded with this double-header. 'Power Move' is straight up hip hop, but it's the flip, producer by Trax regular Lidell Townsell, 'I'll Make You Dance' that does the business here. Kool Rock Steady, also known as Edward Rudolph, had serious credentials for an MC, being cousin of one Africa Bambaataa. This release is also notable for yet another misspelling of Lidell Townsell's Christian name (Lydell, since you ask).

We are delighted to welcome up-and-coming Hamburg-based producer, Simon Ferdinand to the Landed camp - an artist who is producing some of the finest Raw, Deep House music out there at the moment! Tipped as the rising star of 2014, we are honoured to have Simon as one of the Landed team and roster.
His new EP, Back To The Raw - as the title suggests - sees Simon delivering three original tracks of stand-out, raw vibe. Already moving dance floors across the globe and gaining support from notable DJs such as Norm Talley, Rick Wade, Gari Romalis, Alton Miller, Santonio Echols, Moodymanc, Varoslav and Jon Reynolds.
