Terrence Parker, a native of Detroit and a man who lives and breathes Detroit House Music, releases his third artist album on Planet-E - 'Life On The Back 9'.

Detroit has been credited as one of the Soul Music capitals of the world, spawning legendaryartists like The Four Tops, Marvin Gaye and Diana Ross just to name a few. In the mid 1980s, Detroit's Underground Music Movement brought rise to artists such as Derrick May, Juan Atkins, Carl Craig, Kevin Saunderson, Blake Baxter, Eddie "Flashin" Fowlkes, UR, Jeff Mills, and a host of others. But unlike the aforesaid names, Terrence Parker has established himself as a producer, remixer and DJ of the classic sound of Detroit House Music, and is known as the pioneer of the music genre known as 'Inspirational House Music'!

As a DJ, Terrence Parker (known to many as 'TP') has become legendary for his quite uncommon yet skillful turntablism style of playing House Music. TP has also become widely admired because he uses an actual telephone handset as headphones; causing some to give him the nick-name, "Telephone Man'.

Since 1988, Parker has released more than 100 recordings on labels including Studio!K7 and Systematic and has had top 20 hits with his songs 'Love's Got Me High', 'The Question' and albums like 'Detroit After Dark'. A well-respected remixer, his remixes include releases on underground imprints Saved, D-Edge and artists including Kenny Dixon Jr., Wyclef feat Akon, Beyonce & Shakira, Kanye West, Christina Aguilera, Shaun Escoffery and more.

Direct from Detroit, 'Life On The Back 9' is inspirational house music down to its soul. From the energetic yet soulful opening track 'Finally' (Baby Be Mine), released on Planet-E in 2013, to the melodious, groovy basslines, piano riffs and high synths of 'Night Light', to the forward pushing, make you dance 'Saved Forever', to the bumpin' 'God He Is', to the funky tech instrumental 'Spiritual Warfare', to the grooved out melodic 'The Friend I Lost' to 'Hiding In Your Love' - all about getting lost in dancing to the music (dancing is a form of worship), to the pause and reflect 'Selah Interlude' to 'My Virtuous Woman' - inspired by a very special lady in Terrence's life, to the pumping 'Open Up Your Spirit' to the intensity of 'Pentecost' and finally the uplifting 'The Back 9' a song dedicated to Parker's father, who gave him inspiration when he needed it the most.

'The title of the album "Life On The Back 9" was inspired by something my father said to encourage me while I was down going through an extremely difficult period in my life. my father told about one of his golf games where the first 9 holes (also known as the "front 9") seemed to be the worst he had ever played. It was so bad he felt like packing his clubs and leaving the course. However my father paused, prayed, and decided to finish the game. As he began playing the last 9 holes of the course (also known as the "back 9"), he could see gradual improvement in his game as he advanced each hole. By the end of the game my father had done so well he won the entire match. My father then said to me, "Terrence if you think of your life as a game of golf, perhaps the front 9 did not go as you had liked. Following on from his latest and greatest LP, French underground house legend DJ W!ld is now releasing a selection of remixes from it. When You Feel Me Remixes 1 features two great originals and two remixes, one by fellow French luminary Chris Carrier, and the other by USA deep house and techno talent Jus Ed, both released on vinyl and digital.

DJ W!ld, of course, has released countless seminal EPs and LPs on his own labels W and Catwash as well as those like Robsoul. He has also been resident at Ibiza's leading club, DC10, and DJs around the world, and his last album was yet another great evolution in his sound. Here we get treated to two fresh pressings of top tracks from it.

First up is 'Au Bout Du Tunnel', a slo-mo house affair with classic electro cowbells, rubbery broken beats and tons of austere atmosphere. 'Humide' is then a bumpy ride through spaced out galaxies with lo-fi percussion and warm synth smears all making for deep, cerebral listening.

The first remix comes from Underground Quality label boss and singular New York soundsmith Jus Ed. His mix of 'Ac!d Mat!k' is typically stripped back and textured, with itchy hi hats running on top of a buried deep, sublime bassline. Full of gorgeous open spaces, it is a cavernous affair that really comes alive with some sombre piano chords and serene pads.

Then comes Chris Carrier, a Robsoul regular who is a veteran of many album projects. A true French star, Chris releases on Vitalki, Catwash and many other tastemaking labels. His rather cosmic take on 'End of My Summer' is a tough, barreling house affair with upright drums, muted bassline rhythms and a tick set groove that will keep people locked for days.
This fine remix packages not only reminds us about the great originals, but also breathes fresh life into two of them with help from two of the scene's most venerated stars.

12' DANCE is a 3CD/30 Track compilation series dedicated to producing the finest crowd-pleasing, floor-filling collection of both classic and rare original 12' remixes and extended versions. From the Disco, Soul, Rare Groove and Funk mixes of the 70's, to the Groove, Hip Hop/Electro & Techno/House of the 80's, to the Acid Jazz, Indie, R&B, Rap & Club/House of the 90's, 12' DANCE will deliver a lovingly curated selection of both the commercial big hitters and the underground cult club classics!

There are few names in dance music today which need less of an introduction than Masters At Work. The duo of Louie Vega and Kenny 'Dope' Gonzalez have forged a reputation for genre-eschewing DJ sets and flawless house production during careers which have spanned decades and seen hundreds of releases and remixes. Their influence and reach changed house forever. Taking the song-writing ability of Vega and fusing it with Gonzalez's encyclopaedic knowledge of breaks and hip-hop, the pair created a smooth-yet-underground sound that is still being copied and referenced by producers today.

Now, for only the second time in their 25 year partnership, they're putting together a 'Best Of' collection for Defected Records, the home of some of one of their biggest ever releases, the 1999 hit 'To Be In Love'.

The timing couldn't be more apt during a period which is being dominated by 'deep house', a genre MAW were at the forefront of when it first emerged in the mid-90s. But to tie them to one sound would be far too simplistic. Masters At Work have always operated according to their own rules and their own sound. Whether it's the sampling techniques of hip-hop, the swing of Latin styles or the soulful euphoria of house - they've always added their own special ingredients, which is what makes Masters At Work genuine dance music legends

Hlanganani Music is a new label with it's roots in South Africa and London, focused on bringing international attention to South African artists.

Hlanganani Music, which translates from Zulu as 'come/get together' music, has its first release from Zulu artist B'utiza.
Entitled 'Baphuma Ezulwini' ('they came from heaven') the track features vocals from B'utiza in the style of Maskanda (or Maskandi- a kind of Zulu folk) and Scathamiya as well as remixes from European mainstays,
XDB and Christian Prommer.

THE UNITED STATES TERRITORY OF GUAM, ca. 1989
Abandoned at the island nation's only beachfront techno club as an infant, young Christoph (C POWERS) was adopted by the club's owner, Geraldo Powers. During Geraldo's time as a naval officer, he traveled the world throughout rave's formative years, secretly going to the underground parties when arriving to European ports after having originally fallen in love with early house music as a teenager in his native Chicago via roller-rink parties and the legendary Music Box headed by Ron Hardy. Rear Admiral Geraldo, outed as a gay homosexual during the discriminatory days of Ronald Reagan's U.S. military, was forced to retire, but spared a dishonorable discharge thanks to his roster of medals earning during his exemplary leadership for the invasion of Grenada in 1983.
Throughout his three year stay at the local naval base, the now 30-something Gerry Powers had been struck by the natural beauty and unsettling mysticism of Guam and its peoples and made the choice to permanently set up shop on the island after his unexpected retirement. Taking his partner and newly-crowned Supreme Butch Queen of the New York vogue circuit--Amadeus Lector--with him and financed with $6669.69 in prize money, the new era of DAS POUNDHAUS LTD. was to begin.
In 1990, Gerry founded the notorious Guamanian club DAS POUNDHAUS (the name of which was strongly influenced by a two-week long ecstasy and Polish speed-fueled bender during 1989's inaugural Love Parade in West Berlin). Located inside a decrepit lighthouse originally built during Spain's reign over the island, the club played host to a steady stream of closeted, Pacific-touring U.S. military personnel and later, the party-craving barons of the dot com bubble. Outed in private usenet circles for its off-the-charts hedonism, the club's infamous parties would inevitably lead to its perilous demise, and the eventual deportation of Gerry Powers and his family to the mainland.
But there was one thing that could never be taken away from them...

You see, young Christoph was diagnosed with the "disorder" as a pre-teen after having been exposed to nearly a decade of DAS POUNDHAUS first-hand and at such a young age. The youngster was like a fish in water during his childhood in Guam, but when the family was deported in 1999, he began to show signs of anxiety and depression. His ability to hear colors and see sounds had simply turned into a stream of incomprehensible, uncontrolled static. He was now a pariah among his peers. Shunned and admonished. Assigned to sit by himself during school lunch. One of "those" kids.
By this time, his two dads' relationship was on the rocks and would quickly unravel. Amadeus, frustrated with Gerry's incessant ramblings about bunkering in Montana because of the Clinton-Illuminati conspiracy to enslave the middle-class, decided to leave Gerry in an attempt to become a backup dancer for Madonna during her "Drowned World Tour" in 2001 (which would have provided a significant sum of financial security to the family, considering their life savings had been destroyed thanks to the toppling of the NASDAQ from its peak of 5048 in March of 2000--and thanks to those dot com baron stock tips, the Powers were all-in). However, Amadeus' unflinchingly "authentic" vogue style was considered obsolete, and he would go to die in a Reno Motel 6, a victim of drug abuse and that kind of thing apparently.

3 Shit hot tracks on MB's debut for Bio Rhythm... What can we say 'The Miracle Sign' hit us by surprise... Title track is a beautiful and epic journey in techno soul quite rare to hear these days, reminding a bit of early nineties Detroit/UK techno and even some of the early Speedy J works, all with nowadays production skills. Stunning contemporary techno the classic way. Then from heaven to hell with '60606', an evil distorted acidic drum track guaranteed to damage kids brains worldwide... But no time to think long anyway cause there's 'We Only Have', an autistic out-of-the-box jack track providing a sneaky tool for the more adventurous dj. This will separate the gurners from the dancers. Top-notch showcase by the unstoppable man-machine that is Marco Bernardi..!

Pitched somewhere between the molasses gloop of 'Acid Tracks' and his more gospel moments, Pierre's Phantasy Club was a vocal project that, without reaching the heights of some of his more momentous Wild Pitch productions and remixes, still showed his versatility.

Liverpool-based producer Bantam Lions has long been part of the Scenery Records family, helping label boss ASOK launch the imprint with 2012's One To One EP. Here he returns with his third 12" for the label. Lead cut "Recollections" is particularly good, delivering a deep and attractive fusion of fuzzy analogue warm, dreamy melodies and intoxicating chords. He ups the tempo further on "Many Years Later". Which layers dubbed-out chords and swirling textures over an energy-packed techno groove. The accompanying remixes are pretty tasty, too, with The Cyclist particularly impressing with his Detroit techno-goes-lo-fi interpretation of "Recollections". That said, the dreamy, new age-influenced downtempo take from Mood Hut regular Cloudface is pretty darn good, too.

Chicago's own drops this EP with 4 sample-based house groovers. The title cut is a melodic and jazzy groover, "BY THE WAY U DANCE" is an uptempo peak time vocal party starter, on the flip "I CAN COUNT ON YOU" is a slow soul cut with a classic vocal sample & "MICOLYNN (WITH LOVE)" wraps it up.
