How much do you really know about Nina Kraviz She's a Russian techno DJ, an accomplished producer, one of dance music's breakthrough names of the last five years. True enough, but there's so much more to her story than that. She's one of electronic music's most interesting characters, someone who has stuck to her musical guns since day one, someone who has wide-ranging roots that run deep in the past, yet she's also the embodiment of the future. Her signature sound is a raw blend of house and techno with a very acidic feel. If that feels very now, Kraviz has a lot to do with it, which is why she was asked to mix the latest instalment of !K7's landmark 'DJ Kicks' series. The result is up there with the best in the 'DJ Kicks' back catalogue. It's a sublimely crafted set, deep and trippy, like you've tuned into a mysterious pirate radio station in the dead of the night or stumbled across a stream from an illegal party. Fourteen of the 30 tracks are exclusives from Kraviz's òðèï label, including three of her own: 'Mystery', 'IMPRV' and 'Prozimokompleme'.
'People probably know me for my Dance Mania-inspired, stripped down jacking groove style of DJing but the idea behind this particular mix was to create more of a trippy underwater vibe. A mysterious, sonic journey, inspired by the times I used to listen to late night radio growing up and imagine that all the sounds brought to me via the radio waves came directly from space.'

After Smallville rebuilt Hamburg House City with a lovely bunch of records, catalogue number 19 seems to be a big surprise. Amsterdam's duo Quince (Delsin/ Rushhour) and Benny Rodrigues evolve an outstanding synthesis of a classic Detroit Techno Vibe and newest sound technology. With a bass blowing beast turning into deep space the A Side is created for dancefloor's magic at its best. Based on strings, chords and 303 'Sweet Potatoes' on the B Side is a deeply kicking Detroit Electro tune. Awesome!

Tuff City Kids provide three scintillating remixes of iconic Radio Slave tracks this May.
Since launching the project in the late '00s, Frankfurt's Gerd Janson and Phillip Lauer's Tuff City Kids moniker has become synonymous with quality that's seen them cement a reputation as specialist remixers. The duo now reinterprets two Radio Slave productions released a decade ago.
Their take on 'Bell Clap Dance' captures the essence of the original by factoring in its various elements, such as its intricate hook and gloomy melody, whilst morphing it into an animated and echoing contemporary cut. Radio Slave's 'Screaming Hands' then receives two new versions; the 'Dreamscape UK Mix' is suitably titled thanks to soaring pads, subtle breaks and a mesmerising bassline, whereas the 'Krautdrums Mix' meanders forward with distorted kicks, stuttering effects and raucous acid.

Optimo Trax reaches no. 33, the final number in the series (although reserving the right to return at some point). The last release is a 3 track EP from Montreal's Solitary Dancer that ends the label's run with a distinctly non 4/4 feel. We asked Solitary Dancer to say a few words about this EP to which they responded with - "Recordings inspired by archetypes existing within a hypothetical matriarchal society and how that may pertain to our present day reality.'

Arvid Wretman once again dresses up as everyone's favourite rave crooner Your Planet Is Next, delivering a stripped down, club-optimized follow-up to last year's Studio Barnhus debut. Focusing on minimal elements with maximal impact, the Laid Back EP ranges from rainy-day acid blues to Bill Hicks-channeling breakbeat choons, all perfected for modern soundsystems by inhouse mixmaster Pedrodollar and presented in a gorgeous full colour sleeve designed YPIN himself.

Newcomer Arran Trax arrives with an EP of ethereal melodic house music and the first vinyl release for Madrid label Envy Music. Hailing from the Scottish Isle of Arran but long residing in Hamburg, 'Whiting Bay' and 'Ailsa Craig' draw on the mysticism and beauty of his native island. Glasgow's Tre Turner and L.A. resident Ricky Tinez rough things up on remix duty with two direct-to-tape vintage jams for the clubs.

Deep driving tracks on this stunning debut 12" Distances on Electronic Emergencies. The five tracks by the French-born artist, now based in Portland, USA, stand out for their crystal-clear production, trancey basslines, hypnotic rhythms and complex, dramatic melodies - reminiscent of synthesizer Gods from the seventies like Klaus Schulze, combined with the Orb-like feel of the nineties, launched into the future.

Dragutesku is a new master of micro/minimalist soundscapes, he takes a malicious delight in building upper class patterns composed by mesmerizing textures as well as elaborated structures. The tracks are a mix of clean and precise minimal sound, with deep subs and bright high-pitched notes , slowly developing. 
The remix, a deeper interpretation from Herck of the track Sinistru has already been supported and played by one of Romania's top producer Nu Zau.

Originally released on Relief Records; the Chicago techno label headed up by Cajmere, these releases were Gemini's introduction into the worlds of house and techno, and contain some of his most vital works.

As one of Chicago's most mysterious and revered characters, the story of Gemini, aka Spencer Kincy has become something of a myth in recent years - blazing a trail throughout the 90's, prolifically releasing over 200 tracks from 1994 to 1999, Spencer's music had shades innovation and soul few of his peers could match. Then, suddenly, at the peak of his career, he disappeared.

As before, this album has been licensed directly from the man himself, and the money made from its exploitation will go directly to him.

Harry Bennett's solo debut on CCC features two tracks of sizzling, Chicago-inspired house that combine the rodeo rowdiness of his native Texas with the sexy sneer of the New York he calls home. Exquisitely-produced party bombs by a real house DJ's DJ, Ponytail and Body Language send shivers down our spine with thoughts of across-the-room glances, sexual tension between strangers, and encounters in dark places. Inspired by the sounds of Murk, Derrick Carter and Armando, the sound is 21st-century jack, with the heart of classic Trax, the blood of analog drums, and a mouth that speaks with the voice of now: sleek, modern and stripped-down house music.

Two productions for today's dancefloors from Samuel. These are rough and rugged club tracks built from hardened rubber, with plenty of rhythm and a melancholy edge, and they don't sound like anything else.

This is the first time I've released another artist's music on Not So Much and honestly, I can't think of a better way of doing it. I'm very proud and very excited.

SL9 started in Shibuya, Tokyo in 1999 with SINSEN and collectives who were attracted by the early DTM sounds like Abstract/Electronica/Click. Now they drop their first 12 inch which takes you to a long sound journey.

Using the stars as their guide, electronic duo SLOPE 114 give us the haunting "LOST IN SPACE", an experimental modular house jam with fantastic vocals to match. Original version is raw and wild with the ML edit on the flip geared for adventurous dancefloor DJs.

Ijsbrand & Gert had always wanted to create balkan inspired music, and hence came the duo Stavroz. Beyond just sharing the same musical tastes, these two buddies bond over both being sound engineers (live for Ijs, studio for Gert), which makes them real goldsmiths' behind each and every production (such can be seen in this short clip which presents their title The Ginning').
Their music is imprinted with original inspirations while keeping to a jazzy/burlesque influence, leaving little to be left displeased. The bridge, so it seems, borderlines between minimal and jazz-house.

The first title of the EP, The Ginning' is constructed around guitarist, Max Honckelinx. The track's instrumental harmony is skilfully constructed by the duo as they borderline minimal and deep house.

The second original title of the EP, The Finishing' is merely a dialogue between a rhythmic stratospheric universe and the sax of Nathan Daems, well preserved from the first studio recording. The end result leaves us with 8 minutes of lyricism soaked in sophistication and technicality.

In regards to the remixes, Felkon, who has been presented several times before on the Délicieuse, takes on The Ginning' by including vocals which create a more dance-like ambiance.
Britta Arnold, a legendary pioneer from Bar 25 and Katerholzig, worked on The Ginning' as well with Sascha Cawa. They delivered a version more obscure yet wickedly effective.

As for the remixes of The Finishing', Powel continues to captivate us while executing his deep and melancholic twists. He entirely redesigns the piece's structure by retiring the voice' of the sax.
And then there's our man, Viken Arman, who spins his version of The Finishing' by refiguring the rhythm pattern and adding a new dimension to the bass.

Moon Harbour's Orbiter series showcases label associates old and new, and now hits a third instalment in fine style with cuts from Sabb & Manu Gonzalez, Raw District, Re.You & Lazarusman and Hauswerks.

First out of the blocks are Sabb & Manu Gonzalez. The former is a Swiss producer and boss at SK Supreme and released on this label back in 2015. The latter is an Ibiza artist who has a show with Ibiza Global Radio and counts the likes of Luciano and Marco Carola as fans of his work. Together, their 'Daydream' track is a warm and rolling affair with a bubbling bassline that really gets you involved. The addition of some wailing diva vocals adds some dance floor intensity that makes this one a summer anthem in waiting.

Next is Raw District, a Belgian duo whose debut on Moon Harbour in 2016 showcase their edgy and stripped back style. Here they offer 'Shame', a deep, economical cut with crisp hits and an emotive and intense vocal line that really soars as synth ripples add colour.

Regular label associate Re.You then links with acclaimed South African vocalist Lazarusman for the absorbing 'YAWYA'. It's a woozy number with tumbling tribal percussion and trippy synths all complemented by the poignant vocals of Lazarusman, which are delivered with real conviction and will make for a standout moment in any set.

After releases on labels like Hot Creations and Material Series, Hauswerks then closes out the EP with no nonsense, upright house jam 'Let It Be'. It has slick, kinetic drums that coerce you into action and smooth synths that ooze classy party vibes.

Once again then, the latest instalment in the Orbiter series packs a real punch across four essential tracks.

Even with the first sounds, the organic structures can be heard - and felt. A crystalline crackling of the hi-hat very close to the ear, as if the black volcanic sand of Lanzarote would trickling on the metal. The echo of the samples does not point to endless distances, rather, it swings up the cochlea and enters into a special world in which sound material develops a delicate self-life.

It is the world of Denis Rodd, producer and label founder of Cochlea Music, who moved from the Canary Islands to Berlin. His first EP on Cochlea Music is Embryo. Everything stands at the beginning, also in the first track, 'Crisalida', Chrysalis in Spanish.

Bound To Forget by The Models deliver three live cuts of raw analog acid house flavoured jams infused with minimalist machine based experiments aimed both for the dance floor and for your living room. On top of that the Dutch duo Syncom Data added their own euphoric and hypnotic dub remix based on motifs from all three tracks

Dan Trevitt, long-tenured Philly Techno DJ of the highest caliber and stalwart member of the Inciting / Great Circles crew steps up with The Missing, his first 12" for the label. Trevitt spent most of the past year holed up with a rotating arsenal of hardware in The Vacuum, a warehouse that not so long ago played host to a number of memorable parties. Machine ghosts fight for freedom, trapped in the dark of smoke, spray paint, solder and ash. But no one's going home just yet.

Finally we can unleash the hi-tech soca bomb '2-4-6'. With layers of exotic percussion morphing and weaving around a strict snapping rhythm, sounds abound in colourful patterns, carnival whistles strengthen the latin flavour whilst Terrible Shock directs the dance with his booming intonements. A festival of funky futurism.

On the flip Desto relocates the track to the ghetto. Booming 808 sub-bass lines with plenty of punch drive the inventive on the one broken electro beat and the space opened up here leaves room for percussion to punctuate hard. Check the cowbells and whistles (again). The whole track bounces as if on hydraulics! :)

* Gerry Read & Kevin McPhee reunite with 'FRUMMPPP', following their 2011 classic 'Demolition Man'.
* 'FRUMMPPP' heads in the opposite direction of 'Demo Man', swapping he madcap samples for jarring synths. The remix on the flip keeps the jacking and strutting vibe of the original, and ups the deranged sample use.

Bodytonic Music is the new record label from those rascals in Dublin called ...errr Bodytonic . The same chancers behind Dublin clubbing institution the Twisted Pepper, boozer the Bernard Shaw, Raver Cottage , the Beatyard, Doortonic, Scribble Records, POGO Recordings, Kormac's Big Band and plenty more random and nonsensical things, this label has been started to create a home for all those variations in one record label. So expect no two releases to sound the same, or anything in general to overly make much sense - it will all be made up as it goes along.


The first release on the label is the debut EP by White Collar Boy. White Collar Boy are a two piece electronic-garage group from Dublin. Mark Cummins (the ginger one) and Gavin White (the-not-so-ginger one) met in Barcelona where their shared passion for electronic composition (and knitting) inevitably led the pair to merge their creative endeavors.


'SUUU / Tide ' comes fresh with remixes from Twisted Pepper resident Frank B (he of "Chain of Fools" fame) and Simon Bird. It drops on wax on Oct 7th and Digital on Oct 21st. You need this record.

R&S newcomer Karim Sahraoui delivers an EP of deep, emotive techno that draws on the rich legacy of Detroit while staying relevant for the modern era.

Sahraoui is a globetrotting seeker of musical truth spending time in Malaysia, Italy and Spain as well as his native France, he recorded in the early 2000s to some acclaim as Djinxx, releasing prolifically for Delsin, Cocoon, F-com Bedrock, and Ovum amongst others. In 2009 he took a couple of years out from the industry, travelling to Malaysia to find himself. In 2011 a chance meeting reconnected Sahraoui with Derrick May, who he originally met in the late 90s. May was reactivating Transmat and persuaded Karim to let him release his music, but on the condition it be under his own name. The resulting pair of 'Eternal Life' EPs in 2014 and 2016 marked his rich return to form - glorious melodic, contemplative techno in the classic motor city mode.

HIs Plenitude EP for R&S builds on similar positive themes - from the percolating arpeggios and mystic melodies of 'Spy Of The Desert', to the anthemic jazzy techo paen of 'Born Again' or the aching symphonic build of 'Before The 2nd Coming' its clear that after decades in the business Sahraoui's talent is only growing rather than diminishing.

"I wanted to give it more spirituality, musicality and roots with the choice of the sounds. Going back in the past and transcribe everything with visionary fusions," Sahraoui explains.

Der Dresdner Kumpel DJ Gunjah ist derjenige, der immer dort ist, wo man ihn nicht erwartet. Er bespielt die
großen Bühnen und weiß, wie man auch in der Hitze der kleinen Schauplätze den Dancefloor zum kochen
bringt, z.B. mit seinem neuen Track "House of Lords."
Der Mann der Stunde ist Niconé, der zusammen mit Aves Volare den extrem driftenden Track "Don't Stay'
zusammensetzt. Niconé hat seine Fan Base auf der ganzen Welt, ist Teil der Bar 25-Gemeinde, Kopf von
Dantze Records und einer, der immer bis zum Ende tanzt.
Kein Neuling, aber immer noch ein Geheimtipp: unser Paji! Der talentierte Produzent ist bekannt für warme
Rhythmen und Instrumental Stücke. Man kann sicher sein, dass der Sommer das ganze Jahr dauert,
