First release by Japanese artist Kosei Fukuda from his own platform. Great atmospheric sound scape with Japanese precision. Minimalistic Experimental IDM Techno. Including one Digital Bonus.
2017 saw the first two stunning instalments of Lone AKA Matt Cutler's Ambivert Tools series - breezy atmospheric house, stacked with 'floor ready trax, inspired by his red hot Magic Wire imprint. It also saw him present an inspired instalment for the venerable DJ Kicks series. (Mixmag number 2 compilation 2017)
Now freshening up for 2018, Volume 3 finds Lone in vintage form - 'Temples' reconciles his love of heavy breakbeats with the nagging euphoric melodies, tracer thin synth lines and angular bass for which he is so beloved. 'Hyper Seconds' once again displays Cutler's ability to channel the grooves of classic US house with a banging rhythm track and glistening gated arpeggios contrast perfectly for a rugged peak time bliss out.
With this latest instalment of 'Ambivert Tools' it's fair to say that Cutler has proved himself one of the most consistent delivers of quality dancefloor tackle that perfectly balances the need for radiant melody / harmony with tough grooves and psychedelic experimentation.

Includes a set of 6x12' exclusive fluorescent vinyl records which glow in the dark and create a "magical' effect while played in club.
Techno in 2018 and Cocoon Recordings in 2018: What on earth is left when everything has already been said, done, produced, sampled and triggered, then revisited and re-imagined once again for good measure - and all that, knowing full well the wheel can't actually be reinvented... but hang on a second, isn't that exactly the point Isn't that the real core of this music It just keeps on turning like a great, infinite wheel!
The revolution in sound, that magical moment at the very beginning is now, admittedly, a distant memory. To this day however, the origins of the movement reappear time and again as stylistic features in current productions. The uncompromising, distorted rhythms of Detroit, the euphoria of UK Acid House and the subsequent 'Second Summer of Love' or the magical "Bring Down The Walls" vibe of Germany's post-reunification years which still shapes the Berlin scene today, not forgetting of course, the Hessian excess of the Techno-freaks from Frankfurt.... all this has very little to do with contemporary Techno. The meaningful element of this music, the true core of quality techno lies in itself, not in what once was or where it came from. That's exactly why this music still works, even for those who have been on the bus from day one.
In the meantime, the wheel has turned so far that every conceivable genre has been defined and then packed full of memorable moments. Techno, Minimal, House, Tech House, Deep House, Electro, EDM, Acid etc, etc, etc. Names, styles, references... it's all smoke and mirrors. Yes, they certainly help us to categorise a track on first listening, but it's listening to the music, dancing to it and simply letting it be that's by far the most important thing. Society as a reflection of cultural development shows us where persistent labelling can lead. Left, right, up, down, all this ultimately leads us to lose sight of what's really important. Music and dancing connect people, overcome language barriers, skin colours and national borders and we have to start looking at our music in this light. Almost 30 years after the Second Summer Of Love, it's time to classify our music not by origin and category, but by the feelings it triggers and how it works.
Which brings us to Cocoon Recordings and above all to Cocoon Head Sven Väth, who demands exactly this from himself and "his" music. Few other DJs embody the ability to "think outside the box" like Frankfurt's honorary citizen, whether he's dropping Sade's version of "Why Can't We Live Together" to close out the night or ushering in Monday morning with the Bangles' "Just Another Manic Monday". Of course Sven and Cocoon are also synonymous with Techno, nevertheless we should look back over the last few years of Cocoon Recordings with great pride and recognise that strict style guidelines and exaggerated pigeonholing no longer apply. It's especially true for the compilation series, which having now reached the letter R(ecordings), impressively shows the arc the Frankfurt label's output continues to span. From soft and melodic with a lot of depth to highly functional and extremely crisp - there's a creative range on offer that very few labels can boast.
"I listen to and play everything that I like and that touches me. I always pack a genre-spanning record bag, I'm particularly interested in those special tracks - that's exactly how my vision of Cocoon Recordings is about!" (Sven Väth)
The current compilation "R" not only continues this idea, it is a prime example of the label's philosophy. The illustrious circle of artists on the latest compilation is peppered with such prominent names as Isoleé, Lusine, Pig&Dan, Inigo Kennedy, Ambivalent & Alden Tyrell, ROD and Mano Le Tough. Label representative and Frankfurt original Ingo Boss is once again on board and with contributions from International Anything, John Heckle, Cristi Cons and Eduardo De La Calle, promising new faces from further afield are also represented. Of course, all this doesn't say much about the actual content, but that's exactly what it's about. Known vs. unknown, origins, discography etc, it's not important on this LP-Box. Cocoon Recordings delivers what the label stands for and what it does best: promoting new artists, bringing celebrity names on board and above all, not building any musical walls either on or off the dancefloor. With releases like this, it's clear to us that the journey is ongoing and the wheel will continue to spin. All we have to do is join in and stop trying to label everything we don't know and put it in a box. Our music isn't new anymore, but it remains great and has the energy to connect us, no matter what category or subcategory it belongs to.
That's enough talk for now... "Go out and start dancing!" (Franz Beckenbauer)

Marcus Marr's 'Familiar Five: Remixed' EP via DFA Records, features remixes from Justin Van Der Volgen, Prosumer, Gerd Janson and Ara Koufax. 'It was fun to ask some of my favourite producers to remix these tracks,' notes Marr. 'I love Gerd's remixes and play them loads. Prosumer is a great producer and I've been a fan of his for ages. Justin Van Der Volgen I also love - his originals and his remixes are always interesting. And Ara Koufax I've been a fan of since their tune 'Brenda.''
Marr is no stranger to collaboration, working with Australian musician Chet Faker on 2015's Work EP. Work yielded two hit singles, 'Birthday Card' (Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 first play, #1 Hype Machine) and 'The Trouble with Us' (#1 Hype Machine). The Familiar Five EP, however, shows him in his individual element, an artist and performer who understands just how to make superb music for both man and machine.

is / was is incredibly proud to introduce the enigmatic, insanely gifted, man-of-many-vibes himself, Teakup. Hailing from Ohio, our man is yet another in a long lineage of shut-in freak-beat enthusiasts from the humble state. With a style referencing the melodic funk and swing of Titonton Duvante and the broken, advanced-beat wizardry of Archetype, Teakup steps into this proud heritage with a 4 tracker of various vibes sure to sate even the most discerning of dweebs. Lose My Mind is of the swung and jacking nü haus variety popularized by the Will & Ink lads. Shimmer soothes with soft pads and throbbing bass while simultaneously spanking you upside the head with cracking snares and corrosive claps. Darkcore 2020 indulges in sci-fi breakbeat antics, earning the much sought-after status of banger. Lastly, I Don't Fkn Kno slinks along in the timeless tradition of low-slung n' swung house groovers. Welcome to the sound of Teakup.

time Get Physical associate. Werk It features three more thrilling cuts which prove that, after more than a decade in the game, Thomas Koch is as exciting an artist as ever. The last two years have seen DJ T. put out a couple of great offerings on this label as well as an EP on Truesoul and some limited edition anniversary cuts on Strictly Rhythm. The occasional music writer and Groove Magazine founder has been busy in the booth, too, continuing to headline from Berlin to Russia and plot journeys through the history of house as he goes. Opening the account is the amped-up 'Werk It,' a poly-rhythmic tech cut that encourages you to loosen your limbs as drums, bass and tumbling percussion all jostle out a groove. Riffing vocals add fuel to the fire and clever bass kills add real dynamism. Then comes 'The Pressure', a rich house tune with drums that skip and skate along. Dry hits bring some funk, more well-treated, dehumanised vocals from Johannesburg based slam poet and DFTD and Diynamic associate Lazarusman add another layer to lock onto, while neon chord stabs ensure the whole thing will energise any dance floor. Last but not least, this fine trio of tunes ends with 'On and On', the most elastic of the lot. Big and icy hi hats bring a sense of height as rubbery drums bobble down low and build to a steamy peak before the pressure is released with a big vocal cry which cannot fail to get ravers punching the air. A real dance music historian, T. puts all his years of experience to great use in this latest and greatest release on Moon Harbour.

Having been staples of his DJ sets over the past few months Morning fnally sees release on Redlight Music. Berlin-based label boss Denite delivers 2 tech-house killers alongside 1 remix from Italian duoNICe7 and 1 special edit.
Title-track Morning opens up proceedings Redlight Music's 46th release. The catchy and groovy tech house bomb sees a cheeky keyboard melody drive the track forward with groovy percussions, vocal samples and a strong bass line following in tow.
Second original track Sundance sees Denite go on a deeper house trip. Energetic percussion work grooves alongside a deep, electric bass while horns round off the edges of the track. Next up is Italian tag-team NICe7 (Noir Music / D-Floor) who remix Sundance. The duo offer up their acid-house vision of the original track with an evolving acid-soaked bass loop and shuffing drums.
The MEED Edit of Morning closes the record. Recorded live and on the spot by Denite during his performance at MEED Festival in Elche (Spain), we hear Denite deconstructing the track with a slowed-down beat and slurring keyboards. The essence of the original track is kept well and alive, but covered in a lightly
spaced-out electronica veil. Morning is set for a digital and vinyl release March 19th on Redlight Music.

Desolat's Loco Dice joins the roster of Martinez Brothers Cuttin' Headz label this April with
'$lammer', backed with a remix from Detroit Techno veteran DJ T-1000.
Du¨sseldorf's Loco Dice has long been one of the most respected figures in contemporary electronic music with releases over the years on leading labels like Cocoon, Cadenza, Ovum and of course his own Desolat as well as a heavy touring schedule taking him across the globe year in year out. Here though we see Dice offering up his new single courtesy of Cuttin' Headz, a platform the Martinez Brothers and associates to deliver high octane, dance floor focused House and Techno.
The original mix of title track '$lammer' leads with spiralling brass like bass tones, flute licks, shuffled shakers and resonant synth hooks running alongside a bumpy bass line and an amalgamation of heady, processed vocal lines.
Following is Detroit's DJ T-1000 stepping up on remix duties, stripping back the aesthetic of the original to lay focus on robust rhythms and various vocal refrains from the original whilst chugging bass and tension building atmospherics gradually unfold throughout.
We are really proud to present our first vinyl only release !
Fjords Ep (produced by our label chief Thomas A.S.) is an infusion of deep, electronic and minimal sounds which includes a deep and melodic techno remix from the Lunar Plane duo .

Tivoli Trax started as a Multiplex series paying tribute to local artists connected to Kong's Mantra night club, while it was based in Copenhagen's Tivoli Gardens. The first 1996 EP was followed in '97 by Vol. 2 and finally by a 12 track CD compilation in '98. In 2018 we are bringing back this iconic tribute to amazing Copenhagen based producers with Tivoli Trax vol. 3!
.
To bridge the twenty years gap, the first track is an original Hüebsch Originators production from '98. This deep techno track was released on the Tivoli Trax CD, and we are delighted to finally be able to present it on wax. The duo also released the Evanouir EP on Multiplex in '97. Secondly we have the beautiful Bodies by Vassdrag, a Norwegian word for a river system and the Multiplex alias of a well-known Copenhagen producer, who's been releasing on a quintessential techno imprint since 2010.
B From E aka. Frej Levin, a rising star on the Danish scene and known for releases on Copenhagen Underground Posse and Tartelet Records, delivers classic, atmospheric, deep house in the form of No Memory. The last track is Nightwave by Dennis Uprock, better known as dub-techno producer Resoe of Baum Records, Echocord and Pattern Repeat. A prolific producer of multiple genres. He has used his Uprock moniker when playing house music since the mid-90s.
It should come as no surprise to fans of the Chilean trio Föllakzoid that upon meeting the legendary Jason Pierce a.k.a. J. Spaceman (Spacemen 3, Spiritualized), they discovered they were kindred spirits. Föllakzoid and Spaceman's projects share a restless drive to explore the outer limits of music, as well as an uncanny ability to lock into a groove until it infiltrates the deepest recesses of the listener's psyche. When Föllakzoid met Spaceman backstage at a Wooden Shjips gig at London's Electric Ballroom several years ago, they instantly became friends.
For London Sessions, the Chileans and Spaceman joined forces for new, live-totape renditions of 'Electric' and 'Earth,' two highlights from Föllakzoid's III. The recordings were made in a private studio in London while Föllakzoid was on tour in Europe in June 2016, and Spaceman's contributions breathe new life into the songs.
'Jason added a very different harmonic atmosphere to the songs,' guitarist Domingo Garcia-Huidobro explained. 'It somehow rearticulated the space and metric that already existed in a way the band never could.

Ask anyone about their first time hearing Lord Of The Isles, and invariably accounts will describe having unexpectedly wading into a deep river of sound. Rich and immersive, each of Lord Of The Isles' creations has stood singularly unique and opted towards the sublime. Since 2010 Neil MacDonald has channeled his imagination musically through Lord Of The Isles with projects weaving ambient, deep techno, analogue house, and Italo with Balearic flair and cinematic expansiveness. As a DJ, MacDonald has been building momentum by touring his LOTI moniker throughout Europe's club circuit, with stops at Berghain/Panorama Bar, Concrete and Trouw. As a producer, LOTI betrays MacDonald's revere for the vast Highlands of his native Scotland - mimicking natural beauty with a deft balancing of elements. To house his diverse bank of influences LOTI has released across a range of labels including Permanent Vacation, Mule Musiq, Ene, Phonica, Firecracker, Shevchenko and ESP Institute.
Lord Of The Isles' four-track 'Infras' EP, forthcoming on the Barcelona imprint Lone Romantic, demonstrates MacDonald's continued mastery of tone and timbre, mood and groove. The title track kicks off by intertwining stringed synthtopia with an acidic staccato grounded in a rich low-end pulse. 'W5 Alpha' continues the all-enveloping warmth of 'Infras' base layer with a deliciously disparate palate of sounds, driven by a celestial arpeggio and a dusty collage of breaks. The B-side sets the listener loose in a garden of synthetic vines that pierce the long-decay smothering of bass with 'Q-bit'; a track that maintains equal kinship with the bouncing exploration of a dance floor as with the cool tones and discrete resolutions of an Henri Rousseau painting. 'Three Times Eleven' reads as a tribute to MacDonald's early fascination with John Carpenter and Vangelis soundtracks, combining emotive synth arpeggios and cyborg vocal washes in a fly-by depiction of an eerie and beautiful sonic landscape.

New year, new concept: Maceo Plex locks down 2018 with a Fabriclive mix and his new 'Mutant' series that sets out to explore the more mutated side of his signature cosmic techno further than ever before.
Similar to his 'Conjure' series in 2015, the new releases will reside across labels run by peers Maceo respects and is inspired by, with some also featuring on his much loved Ellum imprint. Correspondant are proud to release the debut EP, Mutant 1.
Three tracks deep, each version tells the same story from a different perspective; 'Mutant Disco' tells it from the bassline's point of view as a latent funk thumps with wry mischief, 'Mutant DX' shows things from melodic side with its rolling bulbous bass lead while 'Mutant Moog' closes the EP by surging us even deeper into the stars with a crisp sinewy arpeggio that sucks us in and - like all card carrying mutants - refuses to let us go.... Time to mutate.
