Valencia's Alex Font welcomes Romania's Sepp to Acme for the first instalment of 'Mis Hermanos Rumanos' for an intricate split vinyl release limited to 250 copies.Acme boss Alex Font has been producing nuanced house music for over a decade, cultivating a signature style that blends funk, jazz, Latin, and techno whilst fine-tuning his skills as a club DJ throughout Europe for years. Meanwhile, Uvar and Catren founder Sepp, who's one of the most influential producers of the new Romania Minimal-Techno scene, has kept equally busy creating and curating quality minimal, including appearances on Apotek Studio and Ada Kaleh Romania, not to mention an album on Uvar. First up, Sepp's 'Cantecul Fusului' combines rolling grooves with hypnotic atmospherics before Alex Font's 'Murph' injects a visceral low-end bounce alongside slithering percussion. Loco Dice has unveiled his darkly eclectic album 'Love Letters', a 15-track embodiment of his diverse production range. Featuring the latest single 'We're Alive', the most highly anticipated record of his recent sets. Dice's third studio album after '7 Dunham Place' and 'Underground Sound Suicide' sees him reflecting on his musical influences and connections to Dusseldorf and beyond. The album is packed with the producer's typically forceful tones, which blur the lines between house and techno. Utillising the bristling sounds and smooth drum beats, Dice's 'Love Letters' album serves as an aural embodiment of the tones which make his sound so unique. Throughout 'Love Letters', Dice uses his own vocals more frequently than on previous albums, which makes the production both trippier and more personal, representing past and present. Addressing his listeners via special sleeve inside the 3x12 vinyl album edition, Dice writes: 'It's been a while since I've released anything in the form of an album. This time everything happened differently than my previous albums where I had the story or the concept first and where the music was my soundtrack to that story. This time the music came first - making and collecting music, having a good time in the studio without any pressure. It was not clear at all what to do with all this. To release it or not, if I have club 12 singles, or if I should just keep everything... but it felt good.

James Dexter has been incredibly prolific over the last few years, with numerous taste-making labels show-casing his ear for refined, dynamic house music. With his first release on the Poker Flat Wax series, the young Brit drops three new mission statements from the underground, each unified by a slick production sensibility and irresistible feel for groove. Voices is a deep bomb - a shuffling, kinetic rhythm with oceans of space for subtle melodic elements and textures. Spread out over eight and a half minutes, this is one to get lost to. Point Blank's deep pads and detuned kick drum reference Detroit's classic house sound, the raw drums and vocal snippets adding a truly basement vibe. Area 51 is another atmospheric late night jam, with a bumping rhythm track and subtle pad washes - stripped down and weaponised for the serious dancers.

Following up his ''Haz / Pacificon EP'' last year in Trelik, Alex Celler delivers his second release for Baby Ford but this time on his PAL SL imprint. This EP takes a darker, more techno approach which fits the PAL SL vibe and will be the 15th installment since the label was launched in 1996. ''Vis-a-Vis'' will hit the shops in the spring and contains two tracks. On the A Side ''Feudade'' (pronounced feud-aid) is a percussive and haunting melancholic trip that stretches steadily over 10 minutes. It expands into a lamenting, metallic Sansula melody. On the flip-side ''Vis-a-Vis'' is a broken-beat, deeper techno number with electronic soundscapes and a bouncy kickdrum / bass combination, riding along jazzy synth lines & solos. Chopped vocals, syncopated rhythms and FX complete the scenery of the B side which decomposes gradually into its own elements. .

Bliq continues its quest to mine the deepest shades of techno with this release from Iakovos, who had previously appeared on the label as LowJac and in the formidable duo Deemonlover. This is sharply focused mind music layered with subtle detail and rich textures perfectly honed for hazy hours at the far reaches of the party. "Singers" melds hypnotic pads with gossamer-light threads of breakbeat and warm synth pulses, while "Evil Flower" pushes a tougher rhythmic agenda without losing the ethereal atmosphere. "Adidas People" rides on a surging kick drum pattern, but leaves ample room for a distant drone, and then "Hackney Tower" heads into edgier territory with all manner of obtuse angles and unnerving sound effects pivoting around the insistent drum core of the track.

"Up next on 20/20 Vision we welcome Nathan Jonson back for his second outing on the label, and this time it's rounded off with a big remix from his brother Mathew Jonson. Business EP finds Nathan back in familiar musical territory. Serving up genre bending tracks which fuse electro, techno, house and old school rave into a melting pot of electronica which is not easy to define. 'Business' & 'Let Your Body' are unconventional, unique and original, with off kilter basslines and rave stabs reminiscent of a Luke Vibert and Carl Finlow hybrid. The release also see's the first appearance on 20/20 Vision from none other than Mathew Jonson, who turns in a killer remix of title track 'Business'. Since 2001 Mathew has constantly evolved, with a back catalogue of scene defining tracks and one of the most electric live shows in the business. It's a honour to finally have him feature on the label.

From getting the demos during my breakfast, the record was agreed and in the schedule by the time I'd finished my dinner.
Currently if you cut Austin Ato I believe he'll bleed an amazing record. This record swings between a peak-time hands in the air pink loveheart vibe, hot and heavy classic sample based house, and some real basement orientated machine-made jacking house.
Its like a quadruple A Side release, and I personally find it impossible to pick a favourite on here.

LA based independent experimental techno label Halocyan is back with Part 2 of The Third Man's incredible Procession e.p.
'Parallax' opens up proceedings drawing you in with its phased paranoid techno soundscapes. On the flip side 'The Deep' is exactly that, an immersive layering of synth textures and detuned organs. To close out the e.p. 'Nightflight' takes you on a nocturnal tip combing swelling pads, dreamy arps and melancholic Detroit flavoured synth lines to great effect.

In 2017, Benedikt Frey released his breathtaking debut album with the ESP Institute, Artificial, and now as we finally come up for air, we're more than proud to offer an eclectic collection of remixes that's nothing short of essential. Side A leads with H For Hysteria remixed by a beloved hero, Nicolas Chaix a.k.a. I:Cube, one of the most prolific and respected electronic artists Paris has to offer. His touch is considered and elegant, imbuing the track with a tasteful 303+808 backbone to support an array of patiently floating melodies and angelic vocal samples. Following this, Tolouse Low Trax of Du¨sseldorf's infamous Salon Des Amateurs remixes the same track, stripping instrumentation down to a skeletal palette of bass guitar and stabbing percussive punctuations, chopped up inna minimalist stylee that has become his beat-making signature. Side B leads with a remix by another Du¨sseldorfer, DJ Normal 4, whose re-imagination of Private Crimes takes us for an even more menacing ride, half-timing the tempo and skillfully rolling out a barrage of jungle snares from rave days of yore. Closing the release is the most aggressive remix of them all, a bonafide techno beatdown of the same track by DALO, the co-producing artist to whose haunting vocals lace the original version. Her dark vision opens with sparse industrial drums that blossom into a driving assault of raw machinery, definitely not for the faint-of-heart. Best Effort Records jumps out of the box with their inaugural release 'Number One' - a selection of tracks that celebrate friends making music together.Cold Emotion are Danny Wild and Rory Stenning. The duo explore improvised club music using various keyboards and modular synthesisers. 'Toast' is a track taken from an extensive live recording session from 2015. Accidental CV messages create unexpected cyclic baseline patterns while keyboard melodies float freely above jacking modular beats. The result is an imperfect, inspired club jam ready for any occasion. "Cantao" pitches things down from the hypnotic frenzy of "Toast" to offer a unique hybrid between computerized dub, subaquatic g-funk and triphop ambiance. Canadian Content!
"Manipulate Me" is a collaboration between Ivy Barkakati and Phran. The stark, alienated quality of Ivy's spoken vocals & dark subject matter sounds even more claustrophobic and sinister backed up by the duo's frigid machine-funk, which is more in the spirit austere & icy 80s coldwave than modern house music.
Metric Systems are a duo from somewhere in Australia. The fathoms-deep "Adaptation Dub', recored in 2009, is reminiscent of Australia's after-hour dub technicians Sheriff Lindo or Andy Rantzen. Look out for a full LP later in the year.

You know when the dj drops something so special you're mentally forced to ask for the track and the reply you get is 'its my own unreleased track'. That's how I (Art Alfie) stumbled upon all three of these. About ten years ago I witnessed Van Rivers & The Subliminal Kid (Peder Mannerfelt) turn Berghain upside-down with the dark techno epos 'Mars Attacks'. Around the same time I had the luck to see Nils Westerlund boogle minds with the broken beat psychedelics of 'Suspiria' at a Stockholm Open Air. Last but not least, a couple of years ago I heard 'Thicker Than Blood' for the first time, like the Sirens in greek mythology, it lured people on to the dance floor at Stockholms classic summer hot spot F12. I've been playing these tracks ever since and Im beyond happy I get to share them with the world at this point. //Art Alfie

Enough Music! is back with its newest EP package made from three Berlin based artists who bring their own unique sound and styles, a stong statement that these three rising talents are certainly ones to watch closely over this coming year.

Macro has released albums by two of techno's greatest live acts, KiNK and Elektro Guzzi. It would have been a shame if the two didn't exchange their special skills on each other's killer material. And that's just what they did: KiNK remixed "Atlas" into a tranced-out, peaktime world-domination slammer of pure euphoria. Elektro Guzzi let the snares smack and the pads build up on "Vodolaz" into nirvana. Dream team double pack: nothing better to let the sun shine through the summer of 2015. Even at night.
Anyone who's followed Maurice Aymard's Galaktika label over the years will be all too aware of the imprint's leaning toward eclectic sounds. It's an ethos that mirrored in the work of Aymard himself and regardless of whether he's turning his hand to tech house sounds or more straight-up techno jams, his is a way of working that's endeared him to many over the years. His latest is a case in point. The 75th chapter in the Galaktika discography, the Into the Night EP serves up an array of sounds that are enticing as they are upbeat and intriguing.
Getting us underway is the sounds of the title track. An unfurling beast of a track that's loaded with dramatic tension throughout, it's an eerie cut that's characterised by its clever bells and some incessant percussion. A full on track that's not to be handled lightly, it's repetitive nature and sporadic vocal charms is indicative of Levon Vincent at his best.
'Shinning', a more progressive cut, follows after. Another track that's notable for the suspense that lingers throughout, it serves up a nice stylistic alternative to what's arrived before. Aymard then goes all out on the frankly astounding sounds of 'Rage'. A propulsive gem of the type that sees the producer greatly rewarded for trying something that bit different, it's a special sort of track that takes on various tones throughout but always stays captivating. Seeing us out soon after is Eduardo de la Calle's remix of the latter. The Cadenza man is well versed in all things deep and dextrous, and his interpretation serves up a fitting example of his talents. Although it starts on a melodic tip, it too soon brings the listener on a thoroughly captivating but unexpected journey. Much like the rest of this EP, De la Calle's remix is full of surprises from the off.

The second part of the Seltron 400 trilogy on MOST, Trans i Bas, sees the group re-embark on their singular journey in search of the essence of the rave. Since the first EP in the series - Zabawa Trwa - came out last year, they have augmented their back-to-back dj sets with a full-on live show, which again fed back into their recording process.
The record's title cut, Trans i Bas (also available in an earth-shaking drum version) is as uplifting as it is spontaneous, complete with trance-infused pads and heavy, tripping bass. Jest Nadzieja brings a little swing and a mental breakdown, while Oo is all crunched riffs and one-finger-string-solo glory. Nuff said.
Lucretio and Marieu, AKA The Analogue Cops, are certainly no strangers to Hypercolour, having previously released three singles for our Hypercolour and HypeLTD labels over the last few years. The duo are back again for the 'Flimsy Output' EP, following a run of well received EPs on Memento, Moondance and the Sabotage label. Lucretio steps up with the first of two killer tracks. On 'Higher & Higher', we are served up some prime time underground vocal house vibes; a filtered vocal and string combo flourishes around a hefty kick drum whilst acidic bleeps rain down in a true warehouse style. On 'Give Out', Lucretio opts for more astute sampling, wrapping a soulful vocal around a loping percussive beat and incessant keys, taking things right back to the raw power of house music. On the flip, Marieu reduces the BPMs on 'Hit The Power' for a lazy, shuffling jam that manipulates film dialogue and shifting micro beats, all pinned down under a hulking bassline. Jacking things back up for 'XA Swing', Marieu deploys reverberating beats, garage light organs and transposed vocal refrains for a real old school soulful jam that evokes shades of classic Moodyman, Nick Holder etc. Another set of first class tracks from The Analogue Cops then, bringing their gritty yet funky warehouse house vibes back to Hypercolour!

South London label and party series Troy Town is proud to present the first release in 3 years from Warren Brown aka Wbeeza, insanely talented South London producer and 1st generation pioneer of what has become affectionately known in dance music as the 'Peckham Sound'. DJs, producers and musicians such as Henry Wu, Bradley Zero and Chaos in the CBD have added to the wealth of a deeply musical community but it was the likes of Brown and another SE15 local, El-Prevost, who first put the area on the dance music map.
Although he's resistant to using the word House too often about his music, the swing nods to Detroit and Chicago while the links to friends and collaborators, Delano Smith, Mike 'Agent X' Clark and Scott Grooves are clear. Progressing through a musical heritage that has seen him produce across grime, hip-hop, drum n bass and techno but it's his signature low slung, heavy-on-groove and atmosphere productions that have garnered the respect of peers and critics whilst his popular and energetic live sets have seen him tour extensively around the world for the past 8 years.
This 3-track EP covers a variety of moods and situations. Opening with The OD, a heady march to peak time on the dancefloor which has featured heavily in live sets over the last 2 years. The bassline bubbles tantalisingly as it edges through a kinetic, digital riff that sticks with you long after the lights go up.
Grove Park is so low slung that the snare sounds like it might fall out of sync at any moment while the lead synth leads you on a drunk walk home, at times holding it's line before stumbling over a pitch bend and veering to find its balance.
Bizzle Boogie is equal parts gritty, Midwest-influenced bounce track and shimmering eyes closed rave moments.
