Much could be said about German house royalty Boris Dlugosch. From his teen DJ years under the wings of Front's legendary Klaus Stockhausen in Hamburg to his own marvelous tenure there that is pretty much synonymous with the explosion of Acid House in its proto- and post-incarnations. One could examine his role as a herald of US garage and Jersey house or as a remixer of underground gone pop records. But we will leave that and other stories for the Front page soon. The 'Traveller EP' is the result of Dlugosch and Cassara meeting at a mutual friend of theirs, getting excited about their shared love for classic synths (see Sh-101 for the Traveller bass line) and exploiting the latter's extensive synth collection. What you get: classic disco, French house, electro-funk, DJ sound effects (that tractor plowed the Front EVERY night) and most of all fun, fun and a little bit of extra fun. Chin-stroking impossible....

Chris Wood and Meat, owners of Freebase Records in Frankfurt (Germany), have joined forces in the studio again and delivered stripped down atmospheric house tracks. Future classic!

Berlin DJ/producer Daniel Steinberg returns with his wonderful third album 'Left-Handed' - a kaleidoscopic trip through house, electronica and jazz and imbued with the artist's trademark warmth and adventurous musical spirit. Left-Handed vinyl Part 1 includes opening track 'Corn Dog' - a melting pot of Latin tech, funk, rap and jazz, the chicago inspired 'State of Mind' and 'Bones to the bluesy nostalgia of 'Peace'. This is an album's album that's heavy on highlights, while working beautifully as a cohesive whole.

Figurehead of the Japanese jungle scene, Ishio Dai releases 'Mirage / Island Dub' on his own Effective label. Working around a lick from Skatalite legend, Johnny Moore these two steppers roll with ferocious bass frequencies and snappy percussive sequences. Ace!

Desolat label boss Loco Dice is back with what is sure to be a massive autumn package: he has remixed the seminal dance track 'Go' by the legendary Moby, twice, and has made it all his own in the process. Moby needs little introduction: the American dance producer and live performer's albums are classics of the genre that are celebrated far and wide. They have been used on thousands of adverts, have given rise to hit singles all over the world and have made him one of the most celebrated electronic music stars of our time. His 'Go' track was what started it all for him back in the 90's, and was a bona fide club classic of the day. It still resonates today and always gets crowds going. Now it has been remixed twice by Loco Dice, who has added his own stamp to it in distinctive fashion. His first excellent version is eight minutes of chunky and tribal drums, with rubber kicks, clipped horn stabs and big hits all building the pressure. Those most famous vocal cries really finish it off in style, and ensure that dance floors will go wild whenever it is dropped, as do wonky synths and big piano chords at the breakdown. The second version is more emotive, with big sweeping strings smeared in the background to help make it all the more dramatic, teary eyed and impactful on the floor. This one is for the peak time in any set and is sure to make the most memorable moment of any night. Both remixes here pack a real punch, and whilst remaining true to the original, they both sound just like you would expect from modern dance heavyweight Loco Dice.

Each of Shades' three LPs features suites of tracks that, considered alone, comprise their own distinct, unique worlds. Disc One opens with "I Know The Face, But Not The Name," an unabashedly plaintive trip through classic electro rhythms; flip it over for "The Words Are Only Sounds," a haunting affair for synthesizer and voice. Disc Two's "The Electric Eye is Upon Me" swirls endlessly, while "Shiba Inu Dub" is cut for the floor and coy as its namesake. Disc Three's jackin' "Feel Your Body" will cause you to do just that; "German Friendship" sounds like D.A.F. on dissociatives.

Belgian duo Raw District return to the Crosstown Rebels label with 'Addicted', teaming up with the formidable Aquarius Heaven again for the label, this time remixed by the infamous Doc Martin and Keinemusik's Rampa.
An ex reggae dancehall and hip hop singer; Aquarius Heaven brings the colors of the Caribbean to 'Addicted'. Raw District's flamboyant percussions grinds the beats into a track that stretches the limitations of electronic music.
Rampa's remix illustrates the breadth of his studio skills, as founder of a production company TEILE, he builds soaring synths and strumming piano to elevate the emotional aspect to 'Addicted' equipping it for the early hours of the night. Doc Martin has earned the respect of many over his extensive career for his timeless style that bridge many genres. His remix is a driving, dub-tastic, tribal take on the original that has been going down a storm!

Let's focus on Ricardo Tobar: Born in Chile and now residing in France, Tobar picked the "creative border crossing" as the common thread for his album "Collection". Musical experimentation and crossing musical borders - Tobar refers here directly to the style and sound of the great new-wave-bands of the 80s and 90s. With the help and influence of their new electronic instruments (that often met classic rock guitars) the post-punk-electronic-movement turned almost everything upside down. No matter if the result was moody and mysterious or romantic and hedonistic, all sounded new and different back then and paved the musical path for a whole generation - the reverberations of that episode are noticeable until today.
Tobar plays with the musical approach of the post-punk-era, he mixes, merges and experiments fearless with styles and moods. He creates a wide range of "own styles" and even dives into abstract sound fields - listening electronic in best form! Ricardo Tobar breathes the air of his own musical universe and is not refering to the typical styles of this genre - you won't find any Detroit, Berlin or Sheffield reference here. Although produced in France, Tobar's album doesn't have anything of the sweet and lovely french listening touch. It also won't beam you into the north of England and the grey and cold Sheffield winter like so many other electronic albums try to do.
"Collection" contains full compositions, sound collages, experimental sounds and even proper beat based tunes. Tobar rather creates than produces and is presenting a bigger picture with his collection. Many electronic music artists are trying to do this however Tobar delivers a collection with an impressive range and it seems he did all this in an almost nonchalant way. He plays and combines his instruments and sounds at the same time very sensitive and harmonic but also brave and dissonant without risking to be inaudible at any point. He creates atmospheres by using electronic sounds and layers. Listening to the sound of "collection" almost appears like reading an acoustic book. This album is full of interesting sounds and ideas and is far from being boring or even too demanding.

South California's acid maestro SFV ACID is featured on the third release by Third Try Records, the Pettyclubber EP, which includes artwork hand drawn by the artist himself. 5 original tracks and one remix that brings together long time friends and collaborators SFV Acid, Suzanne Kraft and Secret Circuit with their first studio collaboration ever committed to wax.

Following the 'Frequency vs Atkins - Mind Merge LP' (March 2017), featuring the collaboration between Orlando Voorn and Juan Atkins, Italian label Out-ER (Out Electronic Recordings) welcomes long standing Detroit producer Terrence Dixon for a 21 track triple vinyl pack '12,000 Miles Of Twilight', out in July 2017. This is Dixon's fifth album and follows his last 'Badge Of Honor' released back in 2013. The legend has been putting out material since the mid -nineties. Recognized worldwide for his visionary, futuristic sound, Dixon unites ages of inspiration traversing diverse musical styles including electro, jazz and minimal sci-fi techno. This overall hypnotic approach can also be seen in his parallel project Population One, which appeared on Out-ER respectively in early 2016 with two-tracker solo 'Temporary Insanity EP', as well as in late 2016 with 'Temporary Insanity Remixes' which saw the label offering reinterpretations from Cosmin TRG, Pangaea, Voiski and label co-founder Simone Gatto. '12,000 Miles Of Twilight' remains an experimental techno asset offering a non-linear, emotionally absorbing journey into the singular experimental edge of the Detroit artist, pulling the listener in all kind of directions from the opening track to the closing finale.

To celebrate our 200th release, the fourth installment of the 'Stil vor Talent Berlin' compilation series brings forth a group of old and new faces, who exclusively contributed unreleased tracks, gathered under the umbrella of Berlin's metaphorical aorta. Alexanderplatz - or more specifically, its TV tower the 'Fernsehturm' - is one of the city's most iconic spots, bustling with locals and tourists alike. A stroll through its subjacent U-Bahn station exemplifies Berlin's multitude and diversity like no other place in the city. As always, music is the common denominator and Oliver Koletzki delivers the perfect soundtrack with this new release, while Chrisse Kunst renders the visual.

Octaves EP' finds the perfect balance between banging and melodic techno. The melodic Octaves' consists of vocal cuts and vigorous synths and chords while Aquila' with it's Moog bass synth and breakdown theme is a true banger groove. Absolute festival anthems!!

Kling Klong founder Martin Eyerer just finished his third longplayer and is proud to present the first three appetizers from 'Struktur'.

Dan Curtin's name has long been associated with future looking Techno, machine music oozing with soul and emotion. He has released on many seminal labels throughout his career and left an indelible mark on contemporary electronic music. 'Alive / Cascade' is perhaps a lesser known entry into Curtin's catalogue, released on Strictly in 1994 and is almost the perfect synthesis of NYC deep House and Detroit Techno, a true slept on gem of a record. The music contained within the grooves of this record defy any sort of time frame, it's almost hard to believe it's over 20+ years old. A truly beautiful record, 'Alive / Cascade' is a must for all electronic music lovers and will undoubtedly continue to be played and enjoyed for the next 20+ years ahead. Astounding stuff and yet another example of the wide reaching ears and minds operating Strictly Rhythm during this golden period.

If you are into the type of techno-infused house beats that drive dancefloors crazy, there's very little chance that you haven't yet heard of Jay Lumen, one of the most prolific tech-house producers in today's scene. Having recently remixed Green Velvet's "Bigger Than Prince" and with releases in some of the most notorious labels around including a previous EP in OFF, we had to have him back for another exquisite pair of tracks in our beloved OFFSPIN eclectic series.

It doesn't get any groovier than "Dusty Memories", the first track in the EP is a dancefloor burner, with a swinged house beat, a huge bassline and a very catchy vocal work. Stabs and intensive tension throughout the breakdowns plus very well crafted arrangements blend together for a sure hit.

Things get darker on "Empty Ghetto Bastard" and indeed, its a journey into the ghetto with heavy drum hits, rap scattered vocals, big synth stabs and a jacking drum pattern to drive everyone insane. This one is truly oriented to the clubs while, as always, gathering all the melodic ingredients to keep the energy flowing.

Berlin-based DISTALE is a very versatile DJ and producer. He released already on labels like Clap Your Hands, RRYgular and Wall Music. His debut EP on Paso Music is a musical journey from melodic techno to prime time sound, ending up in minimal dub music. You can be sure that these tracks will tear up the dance floors all over.

Hot off the heels of his latest album "Signs Under Test" (Kompakt, 2015), John Tejada quickly follows up with PAL 065 the latest release in his acclaimed Palette series.
PAL 065 opens with "Dramamine" and "Code Ext", a refined blend of haunting phrases and grooves that flow with vibrancy and challenge familiarity. Each track is uniquely its own yet thrives with a warm cohesiveness.
"Cipher" and "Clairaudience" tie up the release with engaging rhythm-al-ism and well-crafted synth melodies. "Cipher" builds upon the emoted pulses of the preceding tracks and transitions hypnotically into "Clairaudience". Something Happening Somewhere head honcho Nuno dos Santos is presenting his first and very personal EP on his label called Trigonometry of Love. After his Wibaut127 and a string of acclaimed remixes it's time to let Nuno speak from the heart, being one of those souls who knows there is no reward without renunciation.
As a departure point, Storm Inside doesn't beat around the bush. With it's eerie vibe, thundering claps and stomping bassline it feels like there's something dark stirring inside. You have to take a dip into the unknown before you can embark on your journey. Trippy and chopped up sounds make way for the breath of a vocal before returning back to the abyss. Sound molded into an angry tour de force for the basement.
Wonka's groove came straight from the chocolate factory. Wonky sounding bells tickle the ear and lush pads assimilate an injection of purifying mountain air before a hypnotizing motif enters the stage and it all evolves into an organic substance.
Prosa evolves around a delightful melancholic chord progression with voice stabs that ascend into clouds of desire. Acclaimed Italian house producer Simoncino is back with another full length album, Amazon Atlantis, this time on one of his regular label homes, Creme Organization. Simoncino, known for his real passion for collecting and playing authentic analogue gear and his ability to craft dream like soundscapes and mystical house atmospheres, made the album over an extended period of time in his home studio in Perugia, Italy. The album features two collaborations with close friend Legowelt and legend Vincent Floyd. Spaced out moods and cosmic signifiers, classic break beats and deep and gurgling house beats. This is a complete album that takes you on a roller coaster ride through myriad different moods and grooves, always with an authentic sense of atmosphere and real sense of purpose.

Newcomer Struction joins the R&S family for a titanic EP of dystopian post-rave experimentation - the 4 track release, entitled 'Gefüge', effortlessly crystallises the best parts of R&S's storied musical heritage without coming off like pastiche.
From the jacked menace of opener 'Kreen', a dizzying percussive assault of breakbeats and 808 kicks, it's clear that Struction means business. 'Warrior' follows on with deep end breakbeats cut through with melancholic synth washes.
The flip side commences with 'Ai', all skittering percussion, swelling distorted pads and relentless kick drum thrum, while 'Dolly' rounds out the release in fine style, quickening the pulse with its hypnotic FM bass polyrhythms, scything cymbals and icy strings.With this release Struction marks himself as one to watch very closely for the future, as well as once again showing R&S's commitment to nurturing new talent, as well as releasing the best cutting edge electronic music.

Following the release of his debut album as Trevino earlier this year, Marcus 'Intalex' Kaye marks his first notch on the Hotflush bedpost with a plucky four-track EP, wearing all the stripes that an artist of his experience and versatility has earned.
Kaye's four-to-the-floor productions as Trevino have always possessed a latent sheen from the dynamic world of drum and bass where he first made his name. Here it's evident in the impeccably balanced mix of lead track, 'Slide Away', where forlorn melody is driven as much by bass as it is by liquid chords. The tempo is upped on 'Mosaic' - a techno record that follows an uplifting path - and on Desecrate it's in fifth gear with a bass line that rolls and grows and bangs and rolls. The high-speed, echo chamber dub of 'Jungle Love' rounds off an EP of notable range.

After a career in electronic music spanning more than twenty years and so far yielding over fifty vinyls under a host of guises, ALEX CORTEX now delivers his latest treat, his own label, RANGE. It will be home, of course, to his own music, but will also welcome guests that in some way played a role on his path. No specific rules have been set as to musical styles, very much alike the diversity ALEX CORTEX is known and respected for. The thread holding it all together is authenticity.

Fresh statements of delicious instrumental Grime/Downtempo/Dancehall tunes!

After his memorable 'Wolves' EP of last year (which garnered great support and earned record of the week on B.Traits BBC Radio 1 show) Florian Busse returns to connected for his new release 'Heus' EP on vinyl and digital,retaining and developing his idiosyncratic sound sculpting, Florian has delivered another unique take for the dancefloor.
1. 'Heus' A hypnotic tom and bass groove, heavy on atmosphere and noise, foreign and far away synthesizers and a deceptive bass note, the melody starting slow with a repetative phrase, then telling its whole melancholic, wistful, but powerful story before an arpeggio in the main break brings things to an end and delivering a powerful moment in the club when the beat comes back. Memories of summer.
2. 'Intro'. As the track name says, the long intro is the 'featured' part of the track, a good starter for any dj-set where people do not leave the dancefloor if the beat hasn't kicked in after the first 10 seconds. Child like voices, steady synthesizer note coming and going and a low bass create an intense first 3mins before the beats kicks in for the first time continuing with a pretty minimal beat before the elements of the intro come back and voices replace the synth line.
3. ''Guem'. A steady bass note and a waylaying, moody synthesizer theme ,tastefully selected drums, heavy beat and percussion ,joined by weird bird like sounds place you into a wood where the sun has already set.

Supérieur goes for round two after its relaunch in autumn last year. Some of you might be surprised that we're breaking up with the single release concept of having one original and one remix, but we believe the time has come to do so.

Supérieur will be more independent in the future, with an own artist roaster and also with a different sound than the one deliver with Connaisseur.

This release is by the highly respected South German producer and Dj Hans Thalau, partisan of the techno soul approach, which was celebrated for years by Russ Gabriel and his Ferox Recordings crew. It comes as no suprise that Hans and Russ are friends.

Hans' 'Soul Adventure EP' is a timeless affair. Three tracks full of emotional deepness and classiness, and probably Thal Communications mastermind best works so far. We're rather proud to be able to release these tunes, as they do strike our chord exactly.

Geboller und fiepsigen Breakbeats wohl kaum Klangrichtungen, die der umtriebige Musiker noch nicht
beackert hat. Neben Aphex Twin, Plaid, Squarepusher und Global Communication gehört Vibert mit Releases
bei Mo Wax, Warp, Planet Mu, Ninja Tune und Rising High zu den Gründervätern britischer Electronica der
frühen 1990er-Jahre. Und damit ist er geradezu prädestiniert für die der englischen Rave-Ära gewidmeten
Veröffentlichung "UK Garave Vol. 1". Die bei Hypercolour erscheinende Doppel-LP enthält zehn aus Beats
und Samples, Signalen und Flächen collagierte Tracks, die sich als Reminiszenz an die goldenen Tage des
Freiluftfeierns verstehen, und die dankenswerter Weise auch ohne Kontextwissen funktionieren: Abfahrt
garantiert.

Russian born Anastasia Vtorova is based in Berlin and makes music under the name Machine Woman. Prior to joining the Technicolour ranks, she has released two 12's - via the self-titled imprint of Swedish producer Peder Mannerfelt (2015) and UK label Where To Now (2016) - plus a handful of very limited cassettes via Sacred Tapes (2015), Tesla Tapes and Ono (2014).

The second remix EP from Maps Of Hyperspace's Superspace CD sees the ambient dynamics of A Sense Of Unity
emphasised in the versions rendered by Off Land and Arjen Schat. Elwood throws in his reinterpretation with a superb
minimal deep techno take. Adriano wraps the excursion with a smooth dancefloor remodel of Mikael's unreleased Sky'.

Rising Manchester born producers Mason Collective and TeeFunk deliver the third release on The Mekanism's vinyl only imprint Worx.

Mason Collective are a three-strong alliance of DJs and producers who have recently been drawing attention in the underground music scene for their explosive DJ sets and their highly renowned MVSON events.

TeeFunk, Mason Collective affiliate, is a young experienced producer on the verge of gaining the spotlight for his distinctive sound and versatility.

The boys have recently caused a stir with their release on MadTech Records, and are back offering a 4 track EP packed with bumping, percussion-led house with a driving remix from Okain of the lead track The Cure.
