Dubspeeka - Leaving Home Ep
DEXT001
Dext Recordings
12inch22.05.201422.MAY.14

HouseElectroTechAcid

DEXT Recordings is a brand new label kicking off with an EP from dubspeeka complete with remixes from Apple Pips boss Appleblim and Aus artist Komon and it's a bit of a Bristol affair.

dubspeeka, the elusive Bristol based producer who has released on Oliver Huntemann's Ideal Audio, Waveform and has remixed for Evolution, is sure to become big news in 2014, especially once the world gets to hear this new EP.

Opening track 'Leaving Home' is a dark and broody affair with thick basslines, eerie pitch shifted voices lurking in shadows and plenty of spangled synths wrapping around it from start to finish. 'Special Occasion' is then a fulsome, swaggering house track. The drums are bulky, the percussion is crisp and the chords rattle with plenty of menace.

Next up, 'Creature Funk' again fuses elements of house and bass into a skipping track that sways to and fro as siren like tones survey the bleak horizon. It's arresting, strangely funky stuff that sound like little else.

Komon & Appleblim have teamed up many times before now, for both remixes and originals, and here the pair refix 'Creature Funk' into a nimble, supple bit of grainy but bulky techno that skips and scrapes with a real late night and underground swagger.
Komon then remixes 'Leaving Home' on his own and turns it into a reflective and pensive bit of house with nicely shaped synths off in the distance as infectious percussive slices churn out a pattern in the foreground.

dubspeeka's production is fresh and filled with plenty of personality and all three tracks here are likely to become seriously highly rated weapons for DJs in the know in the coming months.

Emery Warman - From My House To Miami
UGA042
UNDERGROUND AUDIO
12inch22.07.201622.JUL.16

HouseTechTechnoTechno

'From My House to Miami' EP is the latest offering of Underground Audio, featuring two grooving originals by the noted tech-house force Emery Warman, as well as two heavyweight remixes by WHYT NOYZ and Caleb Calloway. The masterful works by the three artists featured within this EP truly capture their signature sound, delivering a selection of tracks that are open to a vast variety of application. The two originals 'My House and 'Miami Connection' are formidable tech-house weapons in their own right. The first of the two is hard-hitting and filled with energy from the very beginning. A vicious, thick, and warped bassline fills the track, while a sharp, acid influenced synth offers a catchy rhythm throughout. Completed with offerings of edgy build-ups and slick vocal samples, the track is geared to fill rooms with energy at any time of the night. 'Miami Connection' is played with a slick selection of percussive patterns that run throughout the track, forming a fast-paced theme from the very start. The track truly comes into full force with the inclusion of a fat kick that accentuates the thick and energetic bassline.
Long and intensified build-ups throughout the track add to the charisma of the original, making it a well-rounded tech-house track. Remixes of 'Miami Connection' by Caleb Calloway and WHYT NOYZ take the track on two very unique paths.
Filled with groove, Caleb's punchy remix builds the heat through an increased tempo and an addictive bassline layered on top of the stripped back original. WHYT NOYZ take the track on a techno journey - suspenseful build-ups followed by powerful kicks, on top of a pulsating and upbeat bass groove make this track perfect for the heavier techno sets.

With releases on Let´s Play House, Mister Saturday Night, 1080p, Lower Parts, Row, Strictly Groove Recordings, Enother Blessing, Holic Trax and Spring Theory Keito He´s not only not unknown to us but has shown his eclectic taste and zany approach to music at home and aboard. And his first 4 Track EP offering for your´s truly does proved that once more so . The Okayama resident has been weaving his way through house, techno and electronica releases displaying an affinity to old school processes and vintage gear which you can hear in every bit of his classy unmistakable sound. Short about the producer:
Keita Sano is born in 1989 in Okayama. He has released music on more labels(1080p, Rett I Fletta, Let's Play House, Mister Saturday Night, Crue-L etc.) than forests have trees. He makes a technoid yet lo-fi version of music for discotheques that's uniquely his own. He should be playing a venue near you soon, if the world is fair...
My first meeting with Keita Sano
A little over a year ago I spent a day off in the lovely seaside town Enoshima. There is a really nice club, cafe and concert venue there called Oppa-La which I had played the previous night. So my dear friend and japanese promoter Hagi tells me we should go back there the following night as there will be local bands playing followed by a live-set from Keita Sano. I was only vaguely familiar with his music but had noticed his name crop up more and more frequently so off we went.
a couple of beers later and around the third track in : somehow managing to merge the playfullness of disco with the physical impact of techno I'm sold there and then.
over a friendly chat and more beers later I clumsily present an offer to release his music and hopefully even all the things he played that night. a few days later the album as you hold in front of you AND more or less a replica of that live-set arrives in my inbox.Prins Thomas, RIF HQ Asker 13th of October 2016

HouseElectronicaTechTechno

All boundaries are conventions, waiting to be transcended. One may transcend any convention, if only one can first conceive of doing so. Moments like this, I can feel your heart beating as clearly as I feel my own, and I know that separation is an illusion. My life extends far beyond the limitations of me. To be is to be perceived. And so to know thyself is only possible through the eyes of the other. Our lives are not our own. From womb to tomb, we are bound to others. Past and present. And by each crime and every kindness, we birth our future."(1)We create our future in each action and in each note. Two connecting circles symbolize the infinity. Two finite, different identities bumb into each other creating something indeterminate and limitless: a space for freedom.A vinyl - side A, side B - two different polarizations: electronic and acustic, as connecting poles of a battery generating energy.A vinyl in an unstable equilibrium, unstable as everything around us: nature and artificiality, right and evil, everything and nothing, absolute and relative, order and chaos, emotion and ratio. All the opposite terms may find an equilibrium in the playing circle, as in the connection between feminine and masculine; the stylus running in the track of the circle is the procreative union of a new sonority.Atlas in not an individual work, rather it is the product of two artists. Atlas goes towards a transformation.

Nina Kraviz - Dj-kicks

100002 / K7315CD
!K7 Records
CD23.09.201623.SEP.16

HouseTechTechnoTechno

How much do you really know about Nina Kraviz She's a Russian techno DJ, an accomplished producer, one of dance music's breakthrough names of the last five years. True enough, but there's so much more to her story than that. She's one of electronic music's most interesting characters, someone who has stuck to her musical guns since day one, someone who has wide-ranging roots that run deep in the past, yet she's also the embodiment of the future. Her signature sound is a raw blend of house and techno with a very acidic feel. If that feels very now, Kraviz has a lot to do with it, which is why she was asked to mix the latest instalment of !K7's landmark 'DJ Kicks' series.

The result is up there with the best in the 'DJ Kicks' back catalogue. It's a sublimely crafted set, deep and trippy, like you've tuned into a mysterious pirate radio station in the dead of the night or stumbled across a stream from an illegal party. Fourteen of the 30 tracks are exclusives from Kraviz's òðèï label, including three of her own: 'Mystery', 'IMPRV' and 'Prozimokompleme'.

'People probably know me for my Dance Mania-inspired, stripped down jacking groove style of DJing but the idea behind this particular mix was to create more of a trippy underwater vibe. A mysterious, sonic journey, inspired by the times I used to listen to late night radio growing up and imagine that all the sounds brought to me via the radio waves came directly from space.'

City Fly Records

HouseDeepTechFunky

City Fly are very pleased to announce the upcoming release of their 13th record, and it's a very special one indeed.
The Leicester imprint has always been a champion of quality house music both local and worldwide, but this latest wax features the talent of the home team with a track from each of the City Fly crew. The collection hones in on City Fly's trademark sound of deep, authentic house music with no compromise.
The EP open's with recent Future Society by Seven Davis Jr signing Jonna & Samwell with their debut collaboration Henry Western featuring the unstoppable Lady Blacktronika.
It's a heads down, no nonsense affair with moody chords underpinning mournful vocals that just ooze soul. Next up is the smooth, loopy disco of Last Trip to Gandahar's R136a1 which is a classic cut that even Soundstream himself would be proud of.
From here we move on to 'Without You' by Darran P, which balances silky Rhodes chords and melancholic vocals.
Bringing the EP to a close is J'Shez's killer remix of 'Holloway' by Flori. The original surfaced on City Fly 003 and this reinterpretation is a pure pumper from start to finish.

HouseTech

Anton Pieete is known for his classic, textured take on House & Techno. The Dutchman has spent recent years exploring the reaches of his analogue set up, releasing a string of hugely popular EPs for Joris Voorns Rejected imprint. Now he turns over his latest wares to Ovum, with another impressive offering in the shape of TheMenu. While it may be our starter; first dish Peven is definitely more of a main course. Heady and intoxicating with itspercussive, funky drums and undulating keys, its carries us on its woozy wave of rich analogue bass. Our appetite is further satisfied by the deeper sophisticated tones of Lite Green. Its malleable, swinging groove is governed by its pulsating bassline and dense kick-drum as lazer synths sweep and claps fire on thisclassy cosmic jam. BN300s dramatic and ghostly strings are at odds with its frenetic bouncing bass melody and yet together theywork in complete harmony to create our final musical indulgence from The Menu.

Breach - Dj-kicks 2x12"
105851 / K7314LP
!K7 Records
2x12inch15.11.201315.NOV.13

HouseDeepTech

Its been a big year for Breach, a.k.a. Ben Westbeech. His track Jack hasnt just blown up on dance#oors across the globe: its laid waste to them. In the process, Jack got to Number 9 in the UK charts. Not bad considering Westbeech has always seen Breach as an underground thing. Its been wonderful having a record that's commercially successful, he says. The thing is not to lose sight of why you started making music in the #rst place. I wasnt trying to get in the Top Ten. I just care about making deep records that I get off on.
Take Breachs DJ Kicks mix, for example. If all you know about Breach is Jack, youre in for a surprise. Likewise, if youre familiar with Westbeech as a vocalist you might have to have a bit of a reappraisal. This is the music that I love, the kind of thing that I play when I DJ, explains Westbeech. I made Jack and I play it, but theres a lot more to the music I love than that.
The mix opens with the spooked atmospherics of Prince Of The Immortal Woods by Innercity, before shifting into the soft, rounded bassline and euphoric strings of Triangle Vision by Wire People and the 4AM jacking house groove that is Beesmunt Soundsystems All Day. It Is What It Is by Fred P is an important point in the set. The echoes of Detroit techno sum up where Westbeechs head is at right now. Other highlights include Attention Seeker by Iron Galaxy and Hows The Music by Winx, better know as Josh Wink.
Westbeechs exclusive track is Beroving, which means deprivation in Dutch. Its a beautiful, evocative sound from the interface of house and techno, a world away from Jack, but every bit as good. Since Jacks blown, Ive been gigging so much, just on the road all the time. My life is missing sleep. Im deprived of making music and being in the studio. I put this mix together and did the track in such a short space of time.
Im deprived of time at the moment so it seemed like a #tting word.

BLACK KEY RECORDS
12inch28.09.201528.SEP.15

HouseDeepTech

The Black Key team return for their third various artist release, compiling tracks from an array of talent. The lead track comes from the SMPL pairing of Iron Curtis & Leaves, who deliver a wonderfully subtle journey through murky pads, shuffling percussion and a sparsely used vocal sample, fitting perfectly into the overall feel of this classy number. Proof once again that these two are at the very top of their game. Sharing the A-side Laak delve into late night territory with haunting layered leads & pads rubbing shoulders seamlessly with understated sub-bass and wonderfully panned hit hats - this really is a thing a beauty. On the flip, Terrence Pearce steps up with a track which changes the mood nicely, increasing the tempo with perfectly worked strings, driving bass and lusciously simple keys, delivering a track of real quality for the floor. Finally, Leftback's own Dudley Strangeways rounds off the EP is his usual style, which cannot be described as anything less than true quality. As ever, Black Key have excelled in delivering a package which ticks all the right boxes - this is a release which will undoubtedly appeal to a diverse range of house music fans who appreciate a rather large nod to the underground.

Since last year, Joy Adegoke und Wim Janssens aka Joy Wellboy belong to our BPitch Control family. In addition to their contribution for the "Where The Wind Blows' compilation, the debut record "Yorokobi's Mantra' was one of the highlights for BPC in 2013. After their single "Mickey Remedy', the opener of the LP "Before The Sunrise' now comes in four different versions. The Tension Dub version of BPC veteran Kiki equip the original with its downtempo drive and poppy flair with a pumping attitude, while the spiral synths and a proper bass structure will pull you clearly towards the dancefloor. Kiki's second remix transform pop into deep house and with the emphasis of the lyrics - What if this is happening', he caters for a nice phantasm - somewhere between absent- mindedness and doubt. The remix of Dixon may be listed already for the best-of lists 2014. The co-founder of berlin-based label Innervisions and magic bullet speaking of remixes, emphasizes not only the dreamy side of the original, but let his trademark sound unfold that distinguishes his much celebrated sets: a glorious melody, the vocals of Joy and this Dixon warmth, fed by pathos and romance. Focus on the yearning supplication of Joy's wonderful timbre - we're simply melting away! In addition to the radio edit of - Before The Sunrise', the interpretation of Matthew Patterson Curry aka Safety Scissors knows how to spread his talent. In order of a sweeping climax he passes on the vocals, because before sunrise nothing is more important than to enjoy the here and now. Carpe diem!

Paul Johnson / Oli Furness - Tribute Ep
MIL012
Music is Love
12inch15.06.201515.JUN.15

HouseDeepDiscoTech

Maintaining the focus firmly on the underground and keeping that no-frills party vibe running throughout their output, Music Is Love keep things flowing at a steady pace with their 12th release. Dedicated to continually curating original ideas, the premise behind MIL012 is all about the label paying homage to their most prominent musical influences. Leading the way behind the new concept entitled Tribute, head-honcho Oli Furness teams up with one of his favourite producers - Chicago house legend Paul Johnson - for a four track EP, with two tracks from either producer intended to highlight the impact of Johnson's impact and influence as an artist.
Paul Johnson has been a staple of house music over the past 20 years, and has long been a revered DJ and producer known for his distinctive rhythm and soulful sounds. Continuing with his penchant for up-front house music, Johnson kicks off the EP with Movin Baby. A stomping 4/4 beat marches over an intermittent vocal grab, while 90s afflicted key chords flourish steadily on top of trailing drum sequences to give a predatory rhythm with a solid dance-floor focus.
I'm A Freak follows up, infused with the sort of unreserved energy that has characterised Johnson's music over the years. A solid train-track house groove built from only the sparest of elements kicks things off, before a hypnotic vocal prevails over incessant percussive slices, a wubbing sub bass and thick melodic tones, racing alongside the flecked groove for five minutes of deliciously locked-in pleasure.
Irresistible, stripped-back grooves are clearly a preoccupation for Furness, who delivers more heavy-hitting house in the form of Gurl and Nightclub Romance. Gurl is characterised by crisp, clean percussion sequences, snapping snares and an entrancing male vocal that coheres rhythmically over the cowbell and marching drum combo.
Laying the focus on a classic house aesthetic with acid-fused textures, Nightclub Romance finishes off this well-crafted EP. Acidy stabs and shuffling drums coerce against a flurry of hi-hats and sporadic, dubbed vocal murmurs to give a stomping groove aimed squarely at the dance floor; its unadulterated, primitive authenticity make it the type of track that would have worked just as well in the 90s as it would have today, a testament to the thematic style of the whole EP.

Pyur - Epoch Sinus Lp

Hot Flush Recordings

HouseElectronicaTechTechnoTechno

Hotflush are proud to introduce an exciting young artist, PYUR, along with her singular debut LP Epoch Sinus. Despite her relative newness, PYUR meets the world with fully formed and unique signatures in both visual and sonic work, revealing a deep artistry that transcends medium.
Growing up in Munich, in and amongst the same fecund scene that spawned artists like the Zenker Brothers and Skee Mask, PYUR cut her teeth from a young age as a guitarist and singer before becoming spellbound by the electronic world's endless scope for sound design. Endowed with innately strong synaesthesia and reared in a shamanic household, she tells how music 'played the biggest role in my growth. It alone had the purpose to help me dissolve boundaries, discover the beauty of life's mechanisms, create freely. It talked. Soon I felt like the music was making me, not the other way round.'
Epoch Sinus is a seamless and heartfelt whole, a life-like being unto itself, describing the disintegration of barriers between the self and the all. Here PYUR offers an intimate and personal statement, combining knowledge of universal harmony with electronic music. She states: 'I'm mainly influenced by my inner visions and nature itself, yet also a lot from club culture, which is undoubtedly an important space of connection and freedom for so many people'. The record dances playfully between supposedly incompatible qualities: moments of brutality turn to softness, new life embraces decomposition, while explosive rhythmic and melodic structures are tempered with gentle and subtle percussion.
The album is accompanied by a video piece for each track, translating the sonic messages into a visual body. Her goal was to show as accurately as possible what she felt during the making process of Epoch Sinus, to put the music into context and make it more accessible for the public. Light, water, reflections and colors of nature all feature strongly in these distinctive visions.
'Music showed me that, in the sweet spot between nothingness and existence, one is empowered to fully understand energetic connections and able to initiate extraordinary transformations through all grids and layers of self. Especially now at this time music has the enormous potential and responsibility to become a transformative entity, providing truthfulness and support.'

Stimming - Alpe Lusia (2lp+cd+mp3)

HouseDeepMinimalTech

On April 29th Hamburg-based musician Stimming will release his fourth artist album 'Alpe Lusia' on Diynamic Music. It was named after a remote little alpine hut in northern Italy, in which he had secluded himself to work on his LP for a full month, all by himself.
What could possibly make a grown man move into a small hut in the Italian Alps and elude civilization for a whole month In the case of electronic music artist Stimming it was the work on his fourth album, which was named after his refuge 'Alpe Lusia'.
When asked 'why', Stimming responds with the constant distractions inherent in the affluent society: 'When I reduce the outer impulses, I create a sort of artificial understimulation which in turn makes all my gear and equipment appear incredibly attractive again (in the way it actually deserves to be).'
However, even isolation can outgrow you, because Stimming is not just Stimming, but also Martin Stimming. After two weeks spent with only cows, goats and sheep, he needed a change of scenery. Or rather, he felt the urge to consume. In order to see some human faces and civilization, he drove to the city of Bozen, which is two hours away, and returned with a newly bought perfume and newly found strength and courage. These four weeks also cast out an idea Stimming still had since his youth, which was to live as a lonesome shepherd in the Scottish Highlands. Stimming's album begins with the rippling noise of a little creek, and in a way, it is precisely that: A river, which in its course ingests further streams and by that gains force, while still remaining the same. At times powerful as a rapid, then again calm as a river bend, but always originating from the same spring.
'I wanted to create something of my own, a journey that (apart from the basic House formula) orientates itself as little as possible on contemporary influences', says Stimming. If you want to rely on his many colleagues' feedback, it seems he has mastered that - e.g. DJ Koze, who says: 'I am amazed. Incredibly warm, stripped down, deep, playful und most of all personal! Almost as if someone sat in front of his gear while cruising on a cutter boat over the ocean all by himself (and on Ritalin).'
And the cutter boat is indeed part of the story: After finishing the production of Alpe Lusia on the lonesome lodge, Stimming went (not without taking a short break amongst people) onto a container vessel by himself for seven days, sailing through the wintery North and Baltic Sea from Bremerhaven over northern Sweden back via Rotterdam to the starting point. Stimming used this time to single-mindedly work on his new live set - in preparation and anticipation of his upcoming album release tour, which will stretch across the whole globe come April 2016.
Would Stimming recommend this excursion to fellow producers Not without preparing sufficient material and ideas: 'I think starting with a blank piece of paper would be way too tough.'
