Another solid EP compiled by JORDAN FIELDS. Check the fresh grooves of KSTARKE's man of the moment JEREMY WILLIAMS, Detroit's GARI ROMALIS, SERIE LIMITEE's MONSIEUR CEDRIC, Japan's 99LETTERS and another special one from GILES DICKERSON.
Path Records, old school Brooklyn based leaders in underground psychedelic techno, keep up the twelve inch pressure with a brand new EP from their label-head Reade Truth. Picking up where his recent N-Syde records left off ( Stares to Upstairs', Blessings of Luh'), the 3 track EP abounds in sci-fi techno themes while taking root in a somewhat housier rhythmic structure. The EP begins with the dark, mysterious OMM 0910' where whispered female dialogue and a powerful bassline are combined with cut up efx, trickling liquid soundscapes and solid 909 programming. A Bump of House' develops around a hypnotic bass line and intricate deep synths and strings, similar to earlier Path releases. Drop and See' dives the tempo to 110 bpms and is a mechanical industrial/synth styled number with a clever, hypnotic progression. Overall, this EP offers another vital and varied selection of tracks from Truth, who is known for providing refreshing and unique ideas throughout his career, including seminal releases on labels like Planet E, Sonic Groove and Strictly Rhythm. Limited to 350 copies, first 200 include a 12x12 graphic insert.

JAMAL MOSS aka HIEROGLYPHIC BEING released his first record, a small-run white label 12", in 1996. Over the last 20 years, he has made MATHEMATICS an influential label.
LET, the young but already assured label from the Amsterdam based party crew presents their next release from close friend, Robin Kampschoer. He previously released music on Studio Soulrock and Redevice, and it is hypnotic, deep and painstakingly produced stuff that makes maximum impact with minimum effort. His first productions for the label come with a remix from none other than Detroit's Luke Hess. Serene and blissful rollers that will take any dance floor to a higher mental plane.

Amoon Andrews may be a name known only to a few heads. As Sir Lord Commix, he released quality over quantity, putting out just 4 EPs in a ten year period which were criminally overseen by many. For Those That Knoe has worked hard with Amoon to put together a delectable selection of some undiscovered gems previously consigned to the archives on DAT. Freshly dusted off and remastered are four tracks that showcase the varied influences that drive Sir Lord Commix to provide those signature sounds. Pieces of a Dream is a heavy modern deep house track with swinging hi hats and a bassline from disco hell.
Leroy Garage is a catch snippy NY styled cut with heavy drum work and swinging horn riffs. New Jersey is an East Coast influenced yet truly original rolling jam with touches of fine keyboard skills. Destiny is a dream-like trip with delicate percussion and waves of oozy synthwork."

This EP is the culmination of over a decade of research into the hidden mysteries that dictate the workings of the power structure of the world we live in. The vocals reference situations and phenomenon hiding in plain sight. The matrix is real, and for those into conspiracy stuff this EP is an essential guide.

We have gone back to 2014 to Mr Sultas much sought after debut release and had it completely overhauled by Simon Davey at the Exchange. The original had a slightly annoying little click in one of the tracks that some people noticed (and some didn't...). Once it was brought to our attention it was getting on our tits too, hence the reason we decided on a re-cut! It sounds even better than before, and is coming on milky white vinyl with possibly even an extra hidden track...
The O.G. copies of this are going for stupid money now, so don't feed the speculators - buy direct and get a better product! ,)

Released in May of last year, Kerrier District's '4' album became an essential long player, not just because it was creator Luke Vibert's first KD album offering in over a decade, but because it captured Kerrier District at what it does best; funky, sample heavy, entertaining, good time dance music. Tongue firmly in cheek, Vibert delivered an album that ended up, quite rightly, in many end of year polls as a firm favourite of the year. And so, to celebrate Hypercolour's 50th single release, a crack team of artists were enlisted to handle a remix disc, and they come none bigger than Ricardo Villalobos & Max Loderbauer, KiNK and Head High. Villalobos and Loderbauer's remix of 'Sexspurt' shimmers and glistens over its twelve-minute tenure, the micro broken beats and occasional hats lending a steady hand as the psychedelic soundscape unfurls over the bubbling bass frequencies. Fresh from picking up the Resident Advisor Best Live Act of 2015, Strahil Velchev AKA KiNK tackles album favourite 'Techno Disco'. Churning out a frenzied club re-work, KiNK deploys Reese style basslines, spacey synth motifs that wouldn't be out of place on a UR record and deep organ riffs, dropping in breakbeats to the solid 4/4 arrangement, never letting the energy levels drop for one second. Wrapping up this killer remix set is Head High (AKA Shed), who slams down a relentless and rolling drum mix of 'Come On Kerrier'. Irresistibly funky with its heavyweight 90s style beats and infectious melodies, HH keeps it faithful to the Original Mix and the use of its samples, and delivers a driving peak time club mix.

For their tenth release, Voodoo Down has again chosen to debut a new act to add to their label roster. Andy Harper and Nic Ford have been making music together for over a decade but began releasing in earnest under the name MadderModes in 2014 on their own label, Shift Coordinate Points. They have since put out records on the labels Millions of Moments and Night Drive Music. Their handful of releases have already drawn support from top names like Move D and Nick Höppner, and it's clear that the duo's sound is only getting more refined with each successive record. The EP entitled Emprical Evidence' is a wholly cinematic piece of work, spread across four tracks that unravel slowly, unified by a theme of pumping syncopated rhythms under sprawling pad and string progressions. It's easy to get lost in the thick arrangements, and the inventive use of samples and melodic elements invite repeat listening. Equally suitable for early morning hours, ultra-deep techno sets, or quiet home listening sessions.

Ricardo Donoso brings his triptych of releases to a close with this remix EP, bringing in five diverse and respected artists to pick tracks for re-working. Yves De Mey opens proceedings with a nerve-wracking, midnight black take on 'The Sphinx' which slowly builds through layers of skittering synths, while Recondite, hot on the heels of his Hinterland album, brings 'Diagonal Environment' straight to the floor with a driving 4/4 that adds a solid backbone to proceedings. On the flip, Subtext figurehead Paul Jebanasam offers up the most abstract cut on the record withthe dark and winding 'Affirmation' remix complete with intricate compositional elements and blasting cinematics, while John Tejada offers a club-ready version of 'The Redeemer' before Andreas Tilliander's TM404 provides an acid-soaked take on 'Open Drawer, Full of Masks' .

Our french friend Steven Wobblejay strikes back! After the sublime shake your tingsz EP' (QE 45), Steve presents again some dope deep raw tunes. Lots of old school flava with a new school twist! His partnership with Pablo Valentino as Creative Swing Alliance (Wolf Music, Faces, Tsuba a.o.) has been a great base for developping his own style. Another great talent is past, present and future Quintessentials artist Mat Chiavaroli, who's delivering a rugged and freestylish remix. Hang out - the way we love it!
YOU ARE. Listener's perception placed to the center. The idea is to go to the extremes with the singularity of the Listening conditions, by treasuring those slight but essential Diversities through which the music is spread in that moment. Every context is different. Unique and difficult to repeat. As a consequence the same music piece sounds differently, as determined by the distinctive playback's circumstances. The listener is valued as the beneficiary of that exclusive moment, while who produces for YOU ARE are individuals who will remain undisclosed, their back-ground covert, any possible outside influence unrevealed. Nothing has to interfere with the construction of a personalized and unique enjoyment of music.

Down.
lassen konnten. Manche der Remixe verweben verschiedene Stücke miteinander. Toll: Die LP erscheint mit

Esteemed and highly respected house music DJ, remixer, producer and acclaimed label boss Jesse Rose is next up on Seth Troxler's Play It Say It imprint with the a stellar new release in the shape of 'The Beast EP'. The Barcelona / L.A. based Londoner offers two powerful tracks, whilst influential US producer Brett Johnson remixes in fine style.
Jesse Rose has been a pivotal dance music figure in his long and storied career. From holding down a residency at the revered Panorama Bar in Berlin to putting out an esteemed entry in the fabric mix series via countless remixes (of everyone from Underworld to Kendrick Lamar) and trend setting EPs on labels like Classic, Get Physical and most recently This and That, he has really done it all. In addition he has also headed up his own Play It Down label and as such has been responsible for bringing through numerous new and exciting talents.
Already getting played by the likes of Oliver $, Davide Squillace and Riva Starr, one track from this excellent new EP, 'Black Twitter,' has been described by Claude von Stroke as a 'massive track for me, (it) has the whole crowd whistling every time I play it,' so when coupled with Rose's currently high flying remix of Michel de Hey on Rejected, you have all the proof you need that he is as in demand as ever.
Opener 'The Beast' is further testament to that fact. It is a fat bottomed house track with a wonky bassline, loopy subs and curious synth sounds all making for a freaky affair. Melodies rain down the face and the whole thing is perfectly mischievous and playful. Next up 'Black Twitter' is more direct and striking, with crisp hits, hard hitting drum loops and skeletal percussive patterns. Smart use of filters and a great arrangement make it full of promise and punchiness, and when it drops it doesn't take much to imagine whole clubs, warehouses or festival crowds going wild.
Stepping up to deliver a killer remix of 'The Beast' is US production heavyweight Brett Johnson has an accomplished discography that takes in labels like Classic Music Company, Magnetic, 20/20 Vision, Get Physical, Visionquest, Freerange, Cynosure, F-Communications and more. Aside from a busy remix schedule, Brett is currently releasing his music on the labels such as Edible, Classic Music Company, Cuttin Headz, Holic Trax and a few select others. Here his sterling remix is a smooth and seductive number with a left of centre feel in its smeared chords, barrelling beats and alarm-like synth sounds and is a perfect counter point to the original.

At 21 years old, Mathis Ruffing has already managed to craft a signature sound, elegant and mature with a focus on melody and texture. Rewardingly diverse, the EP touches on several genres and influences, ranging from cosmic to earthy dancefloor cuts, acid, grime, proper electro, IDM and ambient. The common thread on this record is the search for balance between heartfelt melodies on one hand and on the other a form of immediacy, raw and almost industrial. Ruffing has no trouble finding this balance and adding five terrific tracks to the Banlieue catalogue.

Vakant comes back with a very special release from an unknown group of creative entities. Three cuts of tribal space techno weaponry aimed at the dancefloor. We have received a message from entities lost in between the stars in the vacuum of interstellar space. The transmission was encrypted in an ancient code we were able to translated into frequencies understandable to earthlings. A psychic telegram has been sent to us, activating the body and the mind, divided into aggregations of codes that form three tracks of straight in your face, high-octane fueled, acidic tribal techno, riding on solid bass lines, trippy synths, shiny percussions and abstract ambiences.
"This world exists nonnecessarily, improbably, and causelessly. It exists for absolutely no reason at all. It is inexplicably and stunningly actual. The impact of this captivated realisation upon me is overwhelming. I am completely stunned. I take a few dazed steps in the dark meadow, and fall among the flowers. I lie stupefied, whirling without comprehension in this world through numberless worlds other than this one". Quentin Smith, The Felt Meanings Of The World (1986). Written and produced by John Talabot and Marc Pinol.

Taking influence from music, art and culture from across the globe. Roland Klinkenberg's organic approach to the creative process is a superbly unique one. Over his 25-year musical journey, Klinkenberg has a production catalogue that translates to more than over one hundred releases on leading labels including the likes of Global Underground, Perfecto, and Fresh Food. Whilst being ever focused on the present yet drawing influences from his rich musical past, Roland Klinkenberg is proud to announce his latest LP entitled 'Contstruct' on Green.
A true classically trained musician, Roland Klinkenberg musical path begun in his younger years playing Piano, Cello and Guitar. Never satisfied with just the fundamentals of an instrument, he became instantly fascinated by Guitar FX pedals and sampling sounds that threw him into the realm of electronic music and production.
25 years later, 'Construct' is the culmination of all the sounds that Roland Klinkenberg has explored to date. Consistency in creating innovative projects is something that he has grown very accustomed to. In this new LP, he eloquently marries techno with a deeper dub sound. A style that Klinkenberg has recently gained a fascination with.
Today we bring you a taster from the album, an exclusive 4 track sampler that features the previously released and heavily supported Construct and Yani, alongside a stunning pair of album cuts in the form of the dusky sounding Nuages and the sun drenched vibes of Neversleeps.

Keen eyed aficionado's may spot the homage to Mel Cheron's classic US label West End Records here
But while their motto may have been 'Where The Sun Sets & The Stars Rise' Bitter End Records embarks on a distinctly more 21st century path to dancefloor salvation...
Taking cover behind that fluorescent pink sleeve are a loose collective of artists offering up an empowering glimpse of decadent, strobe-lit abandon in the face of our corporate dominated existence.
'Take It All Away' is a falsetto driven hymn, laid over a sonic powerhouse that recalls David Joseph and Blaze, but powered by Fukushima levels of nuclear instability & crooked sonics.
'Happiness' on the flip is the kind of Loose Joint that could only ever emanate from the mixed up crucible of sweaty UK basements.
Unhinged, futuristic business, that still recalls the sharpest cuts from the past 30 years of black dance music.
'Patti Bell' wraps things up perfectly, coming on like Dance Mania vs Sheffield bleep in a pitch black cellar
The Bitter End is much sweeter than they've led you to believe !
